Will a positive ureaplasma urealyticum cause female infertility? FFragrant
The document discusses whether a positive test for Ureaplasma urealyticum can cause female infertility. It states that a positive result alone does not necessarily lead to infertility, provided there are no symptoms of infection. However, if U. urealyticum causes damage to the vaginal environment, stimulates an immune response, or leads to infections higher in the reproductive tract, it could potentially cause infertility issues. The document also provides guidance on treatment options for a positive U. urealyticum result, including antibiotics, traditional Chinese medicine, and adjuvant therapies.
Mycoplasma Infection and Lower Back Pain in Women- Relief Strategies.pdfFFragrant
Lower back pain in women can sometimes be linked to gynecologic mycoplasma infections. Mycoplasma infections primarily affect the female reproductive system but can cause symptoms that extend to the lower back by irritating nerves in the pelvic region. Effective treatment of lower back pain from mycoplasma infection involves a combination of traditional Chinese herbal medication to eliminate the infection, lifestyle adjustments like abstaining from sexual activity and using proper cushions, and psychological support.
What Causes Vaginal Yeast Infection to OccurHua Xia
There are a lot of people who are wondering what causes vaginal yeast infection and how they can treat it. Since most symptoms of the condition are barely noticeable, women who have yeast infection do not really know they have it until the condition has turned for the worse. As such, knowing about the symptoms and causes can be a big help in knowing what to look out for during a yeast infection.
The document discusses reproductive tract infections, their causes, symptoms, and treatments. It covers infections like candidiasis, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, human papillomavirus (HPV), and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). Common symptoms include abnormal discharge, itching, burning sensations, and lesions or sores. Treatments involve antibiotics, antifungals, and in some cases surgical procedures. Reproductive tract infections can have serious health impacts if left untreated.

What other assessment data would be helpful for the nurse practitioner to have?
The diagnosis of UTI by clinical criteria alone has an error rate of approximately 33%; therefore, the NP should be vigilant and pay attention to additional assessment data (Allen, Manilal & Gezmu, 2019). For example, patient population is typically premenopausal women of any age with risk factors of diabetes, diaphragm use, especially those with spermicide, history of UTI or UTI during childhood, mother or female relatives with history of UTIs, and sexual intercourse.
What are the organisms most likely to cause an UTI?
Urinary tract infections are primarily caused by gram-negative bacteria, but gram-positive pathogens may also be involved. More than 95% of uncomplicated UTIs are monobacterial. The most common pathogen for uncomplicated UTIs is E.coli (75%–95%), followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Enterococcus faecalis, group B streptococci, and Proteus mirabilis (Bollestad, Vik, Grude& Lindbæk, 2018).
What is the pharmacological treatment for Shelly? Keep in mind safe dosing.
The first step in treating Shelly is to classify the type of infection, such as acute uncomplicated cystitis or pyelonephritis, acute complicated cystitis or pyelonephritis, CA-UTI, asymptomatic bacteriuria (ASB), or prostatitis (Allen, Manilal & Gezmu, 2019). The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) recommends that empiric regimens for uncomplicated UTIs be guided by the local susceptibility, particularly to E. coli. They recommend considering trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole if the local resistance rate is less than 20% and fluoroquinolones if the resistance rate is less than 10% (Bollestad, Vik, Grude& Lindbæk, 2018). The empiric regimen for complicated UTIs should also be guided by local susceptibility trends of uropathogens, and definitive regimens should be tailored according to susceptibility results, when available.
What are the teaching priorities for Shelly and her mother prior to her discharge from the clinic?
The teaching priority for Shelly is hydration. During UTI management, hydration dilutes the uropathogen and removes infected urine by frequent bladder emptying. However, the bacterial count returns to the prehydration level after hydration is discontinued. Potential problems with forcing fluids include urinary retention in a patient with a partially obstructed bladder and decreased urinary antibiotic concentration.

Sexually transmitted diseases have increased in variety and complexity due to changes in sexual behavior. There are now over 25 viral, bacterial, protozoal and fungal agents that can be transmitted sexually. Screening and treatment of STDs is challenging due to the diversity of pathogens and rising antibiotic resistance. Prevention through abstinence, monogamy, barrier methods and vaccination remains the most effective strategy to control the spread of sexually transmitted infections.
This document discusses HIV infection in pregnancy and factors affecting mother-to-child transmission. It notes that over 600,000 children are infected with HIV annually through mother-to-child transmission. The transmission rate can be affected by viral load, stage of infection, use of antiretroviral therapy, and duration of rupture of membranes during delivery. Proper prenatal care, treatment of opportunistic infections, nutrition support, and antiretroviral therapy for the mother can help reduce transmission risk from mother to child.

Can You Safely Engage in Sexual Activity With a Gynecological Mycoplasma Infection.pptx
1. Can You Safely Engage
in Sexual Activity With a
Gynecological
Mycoplasma Infection?
Wuhan Dr.Lee’s
TCM Clinic
2024-04-03
2. Gynecological mycoplasma infections are a significant
concern, given their potential to cause various
inflammatory diseases in women and their capability
of being transmitted through sexual contact. This
raises a crucial question: is it safe to continue sexual
activity during an infection if contraceptives are used?
3. Women infected with gynecological mycoplasma may
exhibit symptoms such as vulvar itching, abnormal
vaginal discharge, and a sensation of fullness in the
vagina, indicating a high concentration of
mycoplasmas. Engaging in sexual activities under
these conditions can exacerbate the infection,
spreading it further and intensifying discomfort.
4. The energy expenditure associated with frequent sexual activities
can also weaken the immune system, complicating the infection's
management and potentially leading to serious complications
like pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, salpingitis, and
even infertility. It's essential to pursue prompt and appropriate
treatment, including the use of targeted therapies such as
traditional Chinese medicine, for instance, Fuyan Pill, for long-
standing and complex cases.
5. Additionally, sexual intercourse during an active
infection can risk transmitting the mycoplasma to
male partners, causing them to develop urinary and
reproductive system inflammations. Should a
woman become pregnant while the infection is
active, it poses a risk of mother-to-child
transmission, infecting the fetus.
6. While condoms are advocated for their effectiveness in
preventing many sexual infections, they are not foolproof,
especially in the context of mycoplasma infections. The
physical stimulation during intercourse can cause vaginal
mucosa congestion and edema, worsening symptoms like
vaginitis, and may propel the infection upwards, increasing
the risk of endometritis and pelvic inflammatory disease.
7. Even with conscientious condom use, the barrier's
potential failure rate cannot be ignored. Condom
mishaps, such as breakages, can still facilitate the
transmission of mycoplasma. Thus, abstinence from
sexual activities during treatment is strongly
advised to mitigate risks and promote healing.
8. It's noteworthy that mycoplasma can also spread
through indirect means, such as shared personal items
or clothing. During treatment, adherence to medical
guidance, sexual abstinence, and preventive hygiene
practices are paramount to prevent cross-
contamination and support recovery efforts.
9. The notion that sexual activity, even with contraceptive measures,
is safe during a gynecological mycoplasma infection is a myth
that needs dispelling. The priority should be on complete
recovery and preventing the spread of the infection. Women
experiencing such infections should seek immediate medical
attention and consider comprehensive treatment options,
including traditional remedies like Fuyan Pill, to eradicate the
infection and heal the reproductive system fully.

condition and treatment, contact our
experts. Most questions are answered
in 24 hours.
