2. Automobile In The 1920s Essay
Automobiles the in 1920 s The 1920 s was a decade of great change in the American automobile
industry. By 1920, the automobile industry had developed in Detroit, although there were plants
in other cities in United Stated. Even though the percentage of automobile produced overseas
would grow during this time period, the majority were produced in the United States. The
number of vehicle produced by American grew from approximately 2.3 million in 1920 to over
5 million in 1929.(Mazzeno, Automobiles and auto manufacturing. ) In 1920, the Model T,
introduced by Henry Ford in 1908, was one of the most popular automobiles in America. Model
T was at such a low price that nearly two thirds of the cars on American road at that time was
Henry Ford s Model T. (Mazzeno, Model A Ford ). The four cylinder, twenty horsepower Model T,
first offered in October 1908 was sold for $825. It only had two speed planetary transmission,
which made it easy to drive.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The assembly line made the mass production possible, which lead in lower consumer cost. In
1920 the price of a Model T fell to $290 and that was about three months salary for a average
person at that time period (Ewing). Also with Ford s new idea of the installment plan, the Model
T became affordable for people who could pay a portion of the cost up front, and then pay a
reasonable monthly payment (Burchett). In 1920, the Ford company manufactured one million
Model T vehicle, four years later that number had doubled. However, by 1926 the sales had
declined because General Motors (GM) came up with a, Pontiac, that drew customers away from
Ford s Model T. GM was not the only company whose sales where going up. Chevrolet sales in
1927 reached over a million dollars, this was the first time since 1908 that a company other than
Ford whose sales went up (Foner and

Basic Order Picking In the most basic order picking method, product is stored in fixed locations
on static shelving or pallet rack. An order picker picks one order at a time following a route up
and down each aisle until the entire order is picked. The order picker will usually use some type
of picking cart. The design of the picking flow should be such that the order picker ends up fairly
close to the original starting point. The picking document should have the picks sorted in the
same sequence as the picking flow. Fast moving product should be stored close to the main
cross aisle and additional cross aisles put in to allow short cuts. Larger bulkier items would be
stored towards the end of the pick flow. This basic order picking method can work well in
operations with a small total number of orders and a high number of picks per order. Operations
with low picks per order will find the travel time excessive in this type of picking and operations
with large numbers of orders will find that the congestion from many pickers working in the
same areas slows down the processing. Zone Picking Zone picking is the order picking version of
the assembly line. In zone picking, the picking area is broken up into individual pick zones. Order
pickers are assigned a specific zone, and only pick items within that

6. Roles Of Public And Public Policy
Roles of Public Administrators in the Policy Process The formulation and implementation of
public policy benefit the public. Therefore, public policy is a framework whereby the government
pursues its action plan. Moreover, it is a course of action aimed at responding to a problem and
achieving a goal. Consequently, the formulation of a policyadheres to a particular political process,
and it is enforced and implemented by a public agency. As stated, public policy affects the public,
meaning that it has an effect on the people and how they live. Subsequently, public policy should
cover the needs of the people and enhance their lives. Not all the people can participate in the
policy process, and as a result, those professions that have a direct interaction with the public can
play a big role in representing it in the policy process. Thus, public administrators are best suited to
represent the public in the policy process because they understand needs of the public, the policy
process, and where and when they can influence this process.
Policy Design Public administrators should understand that in a bureaucratic system, they are
essential for good governance. Thus, they are in a position to represent the public and its needs to
the government (Warner, 2001). As stated earlier, the role of policies is to provide a framework
for solving problems. Therefore, from a general perspective, the analytic work in problem solving
moves toward a certain direction, thus from the

7. Examples Of Native American Oppression
The Oppression of Native Americans in Early America
An often forgotten group of oppressed people are Native Americans. Many gloss over or just
ignore the injustices they have faced. Such examples of their oppression are prevalent but often
neglected. Such as how they were faced with many injustices from american settlers as they tried to
force them from their land , the countless massacres, and lastly the atrocities they faced on the trail
of tears.
To go more indepth about this topic Native Americans were faced with many injustices. They were
being forced from their land by Georgia and many other states:
In the 1820s and 1830s Georgia conducted a relentless campaign to remove the Cherokees, who

This shows how little European settlers thought of Native Americans. Even their dead were given
no consideration and they were stolen from even as they were being forced from their land. This
was just adding to the numerous amounts of ways Native Americans were oppressed as they were
stripped of even basic rights in death and their plight ignored due to greed. This making their
already dangerous trip worse as they lost valuable sources of food and transportation without their
cattle and horses.
In conclusion the oppression of Native Americans is an often overlooked subject. It s important
to learn about this and be aware of it because many Native Americans still live on reservations.
Their oppression has not yet dissipated completely and not until recently, as recently as 1962, were
they allowed to vote in every state. So we must be well informed in order to continue to dissipate
Native American oppression and try to correct the mistakes of the

8. The Anatomy Of Melancholy By Robert Burton
Introduction
When an individual feels sad, hopeless, discouraged, troubled, or withdrawn from their usual
interests and daily living for a short period of time, it is depression. On the other hand, when these
feelings heavily impact daily activities and bring severe and long lasting psychological pain, this is
major depressive disorder (MDD). In addition to major depressive disorder identified as MDD, it
may be referred to as unipolar depression, major depression, or clinical depression.
According to Nemade, Reiss, and Dombeck (2013) the history of depression dates back as early as
the second millennium B.C.; initially depression was referred as melancholia. It was thought all
mental illnesses were caused by possessions of the devil. In addition, depression was understood as
a spiritual (or mental) illness rather than a physical one (Nemade et al., 2013).
Depression was described by a Robert Burton by social and psychological causes, in his
published work titled the Anatomy of Melancholy. Dated in the early 1600s, Burton s work
provided recommendations and treatments for depression. Research by Gruenberg, Goldstein, and
Pincus (2005) show major depressive disorder was termed in the mid 1970s for the Feigner Criteria
which lead to the DSM III (p. 3).
Furthermore, major depressive disorder became defined by specific diagnostic criteria and change
in terminology providing distinction from bipolar disorder (Gruenberg et al., 2005, p. 3). In 1980,
MDD was found in the DSM

11. The Evolution of the Concerto from Classical to Romantic...
The concerto form was developed significantly from the Classical to the romantic era; producing
changes within its instrumentation, form thematic material and rhythmic devices. The societal
attitudes towards the composition and consumption of the concerto form also changed during this
time.
A concerto is an arrangement with solo works performed within the piece, alternating between a
larger ensemble and the soloist. The root of its definition was believed to mean to skirmish with
one another (Boyden, 1957), this definition helps explain the idea of a concerto, it displays a notion
that the soloist is skirmishing with the remainder of the ensemble. The defining characteristic of a
concerto is its arrangement. It has a contrast in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This marked the first actual publication of the concerto grosso genre (Jander, 1968). Corelli s
Opus 6 was comprised of entirely strings. The solo section known as the concertino that must be
made of two violins and a cello. This soloist group then alternated with a larger group called the
ripeno, which usually consisted of two violins, a bass and a viola, of which the numbers can be
increased; there was also sometimes a continuo. This was the standard instrumental setup for the
concerto grosso and other composers such as Handel used this.
Bach was a prolific composer during the later parts of the baroque period, he was also a prolific
concerto composer also, He himself composing many pieces in concerto form. Most of these
works were composed around 1720. Bach was the Kapellmeister for Prince Leopold of Anhalt
Cothen during this period; this was also the period in which his wife died suddenly, perhaps
striking inspiration. Many of Bach s concertos used additional and varied instrumentation to those
of Corelli and the concerto grosso form. They often had woodwind and brass instruments such as
the oboe, recorder, trumpet and piccolo. There was no standard instrumentation for Bach s
concertos, the instruments he used varied from piece to piece. To contrast this, Bach s concerto

of biomaterials was recognized a lot of conspicuously in 1960 to 1970. Throughout this time period
biomaterial research encompassed all materials designed to be used within the body. These
materials were designed to achieve an acceptable combination of physical properties to match those

(ii)In macroscale geometries, fluid flow through conduits like pipes is restricted by friction
between the moving fluid and the pipe walls, leading to resistance to flow. In nanoscale
geometries, molecular forces will build it such that fluids can slip past the pipe walls without
significant resistance. This may be used to lower the pressure drop across filtration devices.
(iii)At small sizes, the flexibility of a particle to scatter lightweight of various wavelengths is
predicated on particle size. An example of this is zinc oxide, which appears white in sunscreen
once the particles are macroscale, however transparent when the particles are nanoscale. In a
similar fashion, thin films composed of our silver nanowires are extremely clear albeit they are
composed a material that is opaque at a macroscale.

In 1939, when it was discovered that Germany had the technology to produce a weapon of mass
destruction, the United States was determined that they would not fall trap to the Nazi s reign.
World renowned scientists gathered together and by 1941, the secret project to produce an atomic
bomb was given the code name the Manhattan Project. Nobody expected this weapon to be so
powerful, but this secret weapon had a lasting impact that changed the course of history. The
Manhattan Project was ultimately responsible for the accomplishment of separating a uranium
atom, which resulted in a weapon of mass destruction known as the atomic bomb. This secret
project ultimately ended the Second World War, issued in the nuclear age, and changed the way
wars were fought. Interestingly, the initiation of the Manhattan project can be attributed to two
United States immigrants. Just after World War II had begun, Albert Einstein, who had fled Nazi
Germany, and Enrico Fermi, who had fled from Italy, had come together and decided that the
president must be warned of the fact that Germany had the power to create an atomic weapon. At
first, Roosevelt did not see the importance of this project, and only allotted $6,000 for research.
However, when the war with the Axis powers grew, fear also grew, and the budget for the
Manhattan project was ultimately enlarged to $2 billion dollars. Eventually, Roosevelt established
the Advisory Committee on Uranium and the National Defense Research Committee. At

All you need is focus on your mind while learning how to use swaddle blankets, especially when
doing the wrapping.
Remember to keep it lovely using your soft hands. With time you and the young one will be on the
same page when it comes to sleep time.
Step 1
Get at this stage a warm and clean blanket that won t slough the little one nor be too tight. Neither
should it be too hot but simply comfortable for an infant.
Place your blanket on a flat and clean soft surface and fold it to take the shape of the triangle from
one of its corners.
Proceed to place the baby at the center slowly while keeping the shoulders just below the fold.
The neck should be along the top edge. Remember; avoid leaving any part of the blanket touching
the baby s cheek. The baby might mistake this for a breast at some point arousing a rooting reflex.
You don t want the little one start feeling uncomfortable and start crying as to why he or she isn t
being fed anyway.
Step 2
By confirming the baby is comfortable, take one of the corners of the blanket across the baby s
upper part of the body and tuck it under the back slowly and

17. My Visit To Tulane
I somehow managed to visit Tulane of what I most certainly feel was the hottest day of the year.
While walking around campus on my tour, I was positive I would faint. Despite this, however, I
still fell in love with Tulane and the surrounding city of New Orleans. I have always loved history
and if one thing can be said about New Orleans it is certainly not lacking any history. While
exploring the French Quarter and the Garden District I became fascinated with the rich culture
bursting at every turn. The ghost stories, the voodoo magic, the music, and even just the colorful
atmosphere all filled me with intrigue. Tulane seems to mirror that rich culture I so value. With its
strong connections to New Orleans, given the extensive community service

Summary of Critical Chain novel
Critical Chain is a novel that wrote by Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt. In the Novel, he used novel mode to
describe that how to use Critical Chain Theory to fix manage problem. Specially, he used
common sense and logical deduction to give us a clearly description about the complex manage
problems. This special is interested me a lot that attract me to fail into the story that can follow
Dr. Goldratt s ideas. In the book, Dr. Goldratt talks about how a professor trying to attain his tenure
at a university s business school. Dr. Glodratt acted as the professor to show us how the teaching
philosophy could be changed and how to apply the Theory of Constraints to project management.
This novel has many surprises for me that give me a lot of opinion about project management and I
got many points to think about what I need to be.
In the book, the author talked about the reasons which cause the project schedule delay. The author
used a problem called students syndrome which happens in the students, and also I think it s
normal happening in employee community. In students life, there is a phenomenon happens a lot.
When the professors assign homework, such as if a homework could be finished in one week, but
most of times the students will ask for two weeks to finish which mean that the students like to
have longer time to make sure they have enough times. In this case, if the professor agrees the
request to make the due date in two weeks, what will happen? The

20. Examples Of Incest In Hamlet
What is Shakespeare trying to teach us about incest? In the book Hamlet it talks a bit about
incest. Brother in law marrying his sister in law after his brother dies. Brother having incestuous
desires over his sister. A son infatuated with his mother s sex life something no normal son will
do; no son just sits there and thinks about his mom in bed sounds to me like he has incestuous
desire over his mother? Let s take a look at the evidence I have acquired to support my claims.
In the book hamlet let s take Ophelia and Laertes for example these characters are brother and
sister, to me I feel like there is some incestuous desires there from Laertes side there are some
evidence in the book that can back up my claim some might think differently ... Show more content

(I, ii, 15) Shakespeare is trying to make it incest between this couple but in my opinion it s not. On
a google search I searched up the word incest and the definition I found was Sexual intercourse
between persons too closely related that they are forbidden by law to marry; also: the statutory
crime of such a relationship. I m going based of on this search, and to me this is talking about
blood family like dad and daughter etc. now Gertrude remarried her dead husband s brother, not
her brother. She was only related to him by a piece of paper. There is no law saying you can t
marry your brother s widow. Could it be both Hamlet and the Ghost called it incest because they
were hurt about her unnatural marriage and they didn t know how to properly express their
emotions so they go by insulting Claudius and Gertrude?
In conclusion, in the book Hamlet you can find a lot of incestuous desires Shakespeare has shown
it in brother to sister, son to mother, but not quite sure how he wanted to portray insect in husband
to wife? Yeah, I agree the marriage wasn t normal but, I wouldn t call it incest because they are not

21. Everything Stuck To Him By Raymond Carver Analysis
Everything Stuck to Him , by Raymond Carver, is an enthralling piece of literature that
eloquently depicts a short frame story centered on a nuclear family of three. The frame story
progressively shifts from a woman in Milan asking her father to tell her more about her childhood
to another story that the father narrates about a young boy with a wife and a baby. Carver does an
excellent job astutely using a minimalist style, word choice, and symbolism to enhance and develop
his narrative, Everything Stuck to Him . Compared to the extravagant and enigmatic writing style
that a lot of authors prefer, Carver chooses to employ a minimalist style in Everything Stuck to Him
, which means his sentences are devoid of elaborate details, explanations,... Show more content on

Aforementioned, Carver is a minimalist writer, so his diction is rather intelligible on a
denotative level. To go along with his style, Carver leaves out quite a few key components in his
diction, forcing the reader to, once again, make their own interpretations about the frame story.
Throughout the story, Carver never names the characters, which some may think is because of
the characters ongoing struggle to find their identities, while others may interpret this as a
concept that makes the story more relatable since the reader is able to identify more with the
character. Carver also uses the words girl and boy to describe the subjects of his frame story
instead of woman and man , which could be his way of emphasizing the immaturity and
inexperience of the young couple. Additionally, Carvers utilizes diction to casually imply that the
girl, or the woman s mother, is no longer around in the present, while not directly stating this. In
his frame story, Everything Stuck to Him , Carver uses precise word choice to enhance his
narrative by leaving out specific details that forces the readers to draw their own conclusions,

22. Implementing An Automated Distributed Firewall
Abstract
This paper discusses about implementing an automated distributed firewall in an emulated
environment allowing researchers, educators and companies for research purposes and to
experiment a realistic distributed firewall before implementing one in real life. This eliminates the
manual configuration of each firewall which is time consuming and prone to errors and eliminate
repeated experiments.
Traditional firewalls are topology restricted and considerer everyone on the inside are trusted and
one on the outside is a least potentially an enemy. In order to overcome the difficulties for
traditional firewall the idea of distributed firewall was proposed.

In the recent years, the threat that faces data and information has been systematically increasing,
from viruses to organized gangs that aim to stifle the operations of information systems, steal
crucial information or facilitate leakage of competitive information.
A firewall is a collection of components, interposed between two networks, that filters traffic
between them according to some security policy (Cheswick Bellovin, 1994). Due to the increase
in network attacks and awareness of cyber security firewalls are used not only in companies but
also in home networks. Firewalls are the frontline of defence to secure the networks from
security risks and attacks from cyber criminals. Firewalls filters network traffic based on
filtering rules defined by the firewall administrator or admin. Although firewalls protects from
network attacks, virus etc, it depends on the firewall policies defined, if the policies are not
defined properly it proposes a security risk and limits the effectiveness of firewall security. .
There are mainly three types of firewalling techniques based on the OSI layer in which the
firewall is acting on. They are (1) packet filters, which inspect each packet passing through them,
(2) application Gateways which act on specific applications such as FTP, Telnet etc and (3) circuit
level Gateways, which apply security mechanisms whenever TCP and UDP connections are
established. Firewalls have

This article tells you what to do in your relationships to replace the destructive habits with more
healthy ones. Dr. William Glasser in his book, Getting Together and Staying Together, writes about
the Caring Relationship Habits of listening, trusting, supporting, encouraging, respecting, accepting
and negotiating differences. These are not as simple as they sound. This month we will look at the
first four and I will follow up in December with the final three.
Listening is the first one because I think it is a great place to start. You may already think you
listen and perhaps you do but the level of listening I am speaking of relates to not just hearing your
partner, but truly trying to understand where he or she is coming from. You are listening for
understanding. You wantto know how it is they see things the way they do. You may not agree with
their perception but you want to try to at least understand it from where they come from, in their
shoes and in their skin.

Complacency and ignorance come to mind; I think it took someone from the outside to really bring
it to attention and events such as the birthday party in Sardinia and countless authentic art pieces

WayerskiLMGT7019 8 3 5 The party in Sardinia was a birthday celebration for Kozlowski s wife.
The event was $2 million dollars and Kozlowski wrote off $1 million as a stockholders event and
even sent out a company memo to justify the expenditure (Wilson 2008). I feel that is an act of
creative accounting; why would a CEO, Kozlowski pay for a company event that wasn t non
charitable out of his own pocket? He knew what he could absorb without being questioned. I also
think with the loans that it became to accessible and it became an order of business. It was done
so often and the company had so much revenue that Kozlowski thought he could just absorb it
through company records. The complaint against Kozlowski from Tyco all its legal language came
across to me that he was trying to find ways not to pay taxes on personal items from job relocation

26. The Un Security Council Is The Primary Subsidy For...
Since its establishment, the United Nations has played a vital role in total global development. As
stated by the UN, their roles and responsibilities consist of maintaining international peace and
security through the prevention of conflict and coming up with solutions if ever in conflicting
scenarios through peacekeeping efforts. Their UN Security Council is the primary subsidy for
international peace and security; promoting sustainable development by working to bridge social,
economic, or cultural disparities, and promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for
fundamental freedoms for all (What we do, United Nations); protecting human rights and making
such a key aspect and value of the Organization; upholding international law through the usage of

deliver humanitarian aid, which is one of the main principles the UN was founded on: to achieve
international co operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or

Let s give a scenario that outlines the role of the United Nations for clarification. If say tension

Anatomy of an Orchid Flower
Despite the astonishing diversity found in the thousands of wild species and man made hybrids,
orchid flowers show an unmistakable family resemblance. Orchid flowers are generally bilaterally
symmetrical only a single imaginary line can be drawn through a flower to create a mirror image.
A typical orchid flower has three sepals (the outer segments that protect the bud before the flower
opens), alternating with three petals. The petals and sepals may be similar or not, showy or
inconspicuous.
The middle petal, which is always opposite the column, is usually quite different from the others.

So in appealing to sex, these orchids limit their potential pollinators, which would seem to be a
reproductive disadvantage.
Despite the apparent drawback, sexual deception has evolved several times in different types of
orchids. So there must be some selective advantage, and researchers Salvatore Cozzolino and
Giovanni Scopece of the University of Naples Federico II, Steven Johnson of University of
KwaZulu Natal (South Africa) and Florian Schiestl of the University of ZГјrich appear to have
figured out what it is.
Schiestl and his team observed populations of 31 orchid species with varying pollination strategies
in Italy and Western Australia. They measured the amount of pollenthat was taken from each
orchid, and the amount of pollen that made it to its intended destination another orchid of the same
species.
They found that populations of sexually deceptive orchids had higher pollen transport efficiency
than the species with multiple pollinators. In other words, a higher percentage of the pollen that
was taken from sexually deceptive orchids actually made it to another orchid of the same species.
The orchids with multiple pollinators had more pollen taken from their flowers, but more of that
pollen was lost dropped to the ground or deposited in flowers of the wrong species.
So it appears that specializing with

Describe the layout and function of the various kinds of dwellings used by the Ancient Romans in

quantity not quality, housing 1.5 million people (Kamm, n.d.). I imagine these to be the equivalent

average four to six stories high and often constructed with wood, poorly lit and unhygienic because
they had no running water or latrine. Conditions would have been cold and lighting a fire would ve

29. Analysis Of Angels Displaying The Crown Of Thorns
There are several miniatures in particular that are meant to evoke piety, for Anne, as well as that
which she hoped her son would display, in time. Angels Displaying the Crown of Thorns (Fol.
30r) depicts two angels reverently holding a golden crown of thorns, referencing that worn by
Christ. In Angels Displaying the Eucharist in a Monstrance (Fol. 11v), four angels carefully hold a
monstrance, a device by which the Host of communion could be displayed for worship and
respectful contemplation. These angels are in a similar setting and arrangement to those holding
the crown of thorns, and both images share the same main purpose, as well: to have two extra
sections of this prayer book inadvertently dedicated towards recalling the Passionof Christ. There
are also some other possible implied purposes, though. The inclusion of the crown of thorns in
one folio serves as a reminder of the fact that Anne had privileged access to Sainte Chapelle,
which she undoubtedly took advantage of, built by Louis IX following his obtainment of the
Crown of Thorns, as a place in which to house it, along with other such articles. Her piety is thus
re emphasised through yet another display of devotion for her son to follow. In a similar manner,
the monstrance, an object of great importance to the devout, would serve the same purpose. Yet,
there is also the sense that Anne is showcasing the opulent objects at her disposal, for the crown of
thorns was certainly not a replaceable, nor common,

The desire to investigate the obscure has been a main thrust in mankind s history since the
beginning of time. Early experiences were roused by religious convictions, a desire for success, the

1400s, was a critical period in the improvement of land yet unknown to the Europeans. Amid this
period, many economic consequences impacted the success and failure in which have signified this
new era through discoveries. The Age of Exploration with the Columbian Exchange created an
economic environment in which European countries could gain wealth through mercantilism.
However, as mercantilism allowed some European countries to grow more powerful, capitalismwas
able to develop at the same time. These two systems share differences, but in the end still allowed
European countries to become more politically and economically powerful. During Europe s
mercantilist period, the Age of Exploration gained the wealth of Europe economically by balancing
trade in the Columbian Exchange. Many monarchs, companies, and government officials gained
wealth by exporting goods to colonies, while gaining other basic materials with cheap labor in the
system of mercantilism. The Age of Exploration contributed to this system with the Columbian

The country with the largest market potential for peanut butter in Europe is Germany (ibid 79). The
country climate of Germany gives a positive outlook for peanut butter, the primary option being as

Jif s flagship creamy peanut butter spread was first introduced in 1958. Since 1981, Jif has been
the leading peanut butter brand in the United States. As of 1998, Jif had an estimated 42.5% of the
market share, dwarfing closest competitor Skippy at 28.8% (Marigny 99). In 2002, The J.M.

Peanut butter is sold primarily as a bread spread, and secondarily as an ingredient for other meals.

taking my time and redoing the experiment a few times, but I did spill a bit of the liquid as a cut
the pipets open. Also, my swabs may have been previously contaminated by the salt on our skin due
to frequent use.

37. Draft Guidance Paper
Study Details
The study selected by this author centers around ethical and oversight issues concerning standard of
care interventions received by participants in research studies. So as to address recently arisen
concerns regarding key aspects of regulation and oversight of standard of care interventions
executed during trials, the office for human research protections (OHRP) solicited comments from
experts on what has been termed as Draft Guidance (Institute of Medicine [IOM], 2015, pp. 1 3).
The report focuses on one particular issue involving the determination and communication of all
the reasonably foreseeable risks that are associated with participating in a trial compared to
receiving standard of care interventions. The OHRP and the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services (HHS) produced a document entitled Draft Guidance on Disclosing Reasonably
Foreseeable Risks in Research Evaluating Standards of Care ( Draft Guidance ), so that comments
and expert opinions could be gathered on the subject (IOM, 2015). As a result, an IOM sponsored
workshop was convened to facilitate dialogue among stakeholders about the ethical issues
surrounding study design and informed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, a more in depth analysis suggests that provisions 1, 2, and 3 adhere best to the topic of
protecting the rights of patients participating in clinical research studies. For instance, provision 2
explicitly states that the nurse s primary commitment is to the patient, whether an individual,
family, group, or community. (ANA, 2015). Furthermore, expectations for the role of the nurse in
promoting, advocating for, and striving to protect the health, safety, and rights of the patient are all
covered under provision 3 (ANA,

The hospital will establish policies and standards that protect patient privacy of the health care
information. These policies should determine levels of access to the EHR. The CernerВ®
system will provide many layers of protection. A major piece of maintaining patient privacy is
managing access to the EHR. This is accomplished through password management. The system
will require case sensitive passwords with mandated password change every 90 days. There is
employee badge swipe access that automatically enters the user log in ID but requires the
password be entered. If a user has not accessed the system in a designated time period, which will
be determined by the hospital (typically 90 days) then the system will automatically drop the...

An error can cost the hospital hundreds of thousands of dollars. Utilizing technology to prevent
errors will result in cost savings to the hospital. Implementing CPOE will not only save in
prevention of medication errors but also in the decreased time spent in order verification due to
illegible handwriting. Elimination of paper documents except as backup for downtime events will
provide cost savings to the organization. Savings will come from decreased printing cost as well as
decreased cost of storage of paper charts, decreased cost of scanning paper documents into the EHR,
decreased printing and decrease cost of document destruction. Another measure that implementation
of EHR may affect will be patient satisfaction. Its impact on patient satisfaction will be difficult to
quantify. It is anticipated that staff will be more knowledge about the patient and will have more
time to spend with the patient both factors are known to improve patient satisfaction. Patient
satisfaction is reported publicly so scores can affect selection of the hospital as a place for treatment
and patient s willingness to recommend or return. Active Nursing

39. Gender Norms And Gender Roles
Are you being forced to be someone you don t want to? That is the general basis of gender
norms, and how people are policed to stay within their gender roles. Everyone is susceptible to
being policed. Some may ask what are these gender norms I speaking of? As parents raise their
children the way they were raised they inflict gendernorms that were enforced during their
childhood. The cycle then continues to the next generation and the next generation. Gender norms
are what society sets on how women and mans behavior in our world. For example a mother and
her two kids a boy and girl are strolling through Target and heading through the toys section. The
girl is seen this cool Star Wars Lego sets and sets her attention to obtaining it. She brings it back
to the cart, and her mother say lego are for boys, why don t you pick something like a Minnie
mouse toy since that for girls . And vise versa for boys. Do you feel gender norms affect human
development? The essay Bros Before Hos: The Guy Code Michael Kimmel writes about what it
means to be a man and how it is policed. He calls these traits of being a man the Guy Code. He
first covers the qualities boy live by to be a man. He surveys hundreds of boys across the country.
They say masculinityconsist First don t show emotions, have a high status i.e having a successful
career and making a nice amount of money. Also to take risks and not crumbled under pressure.
He then segways to how there is a gender police that keep

40. Leon Trotsky
Trotsky was born Lev Davidovich Bronstein on November 7, 1879, in what is today known as
Ukraine. He was the fifth child of a wealthy farmer, David Leontyevich Bronstein, and Anna
Bronstein. The family was ethnically Jewish but not religious. At the age of nine, Trotsky was sent
to Odessa to attend school, and as Deutscher points out in his biography, Odessa was then a bustling
cosmopolitan port city, very unlike the typical Russian city of the time. This environment
contributed to the development of the young man s international outlook. Trotsky was always
quick tempered, arrogant and a stubborn believer in intellectual solutions. In 1896 Trotsky at the
age of 17 moved to Nikolayev to continue studying. In his time there he attended... Show more

Basically this was everything against what the tsarist state were now doing In January 1907,
Trotsky escaped Siberia and once again made his way to London, where he attended the 5th
Congress of the RSDLP. In October, he moved to Vienna where he often took part in the
activities of the Austrian Social Democratic Party and, occasionally, of the German Social
Democratic Party, for seven years. He started his own newspaper in 1908, the Pravda, but the
distance from the Mensheviks and Bolsheviks left him without any organizational anchor. Back
in Russia the outbreak of WW1 tore apart the second international as many of the social
democratic parties lined up with their own ruling classes. Trotsky attended the Zimmerwald
Conference of anti war socialists in September 1915 and aimed for a middle course between
those who, like Martov, would stay within the Second International at any cost and those who,
like Lenin, would break with the Second International and form a Third International. The
conference adopted the middle line proposed by Trotsky. Trotsky draws up the Zimmerwald
manifesto denouncing the war, which is the nucleus of the third international. Trotsky moved to
France on November 19, 1914, as a war correspondent for the Kievskaya Mysl (radical Ukrainian
newspaper). Trotsky was expelled from France as a suspect alien and in September 1916, Trotsky

41. Explication Of The Lamb By William Blake
Explication of The Lamb
The Lamb is a short poem written by William Black, an english poet and writer who lived from
1757 to 1827, a lot of his works were written near the start of the romantic period. This movement
focused on the expressions of human spirituality, with a focus on nature. He lived a simple life
and worked as an illustrator and writer. The Lamb is a lyrics poem that contains two ten line
stanzas. Each pair of lines rhymes with the correlating line and this persists throughout the poem.
The Lamb s theme alone is to praise God for creating something so virtuous. The first stanza
consists of Blake posing a question, which sets the tone for the entirety of the poem. It is easy to
identify that the question is directly referring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the symbolism is used to describe the lamb itself as well as its sustenance. Another
literary device is of course, the biblical allusion of the lamb and the Lord, as well as their relation.
Blake honours Jesus specifically with the line, He became a little child (line 16) for the sacrifice
he made for humanity by coming to earth. In addition, the lines, I a child and thou a lamb, we are
called by his name (Lines 17 18) further expand on the religious theme of the poem. Through this
it is implied that the speaker had been a child all along;which correlates with Blake s works in
Songs of Innocence.
Ultimately this is a surprisingly simple poem with a relatively deep underlying message. This
format syncs up beautifully with the poems messages of a lamb s innocence and therefore a child
s innocence. The style is also accentuated with the simple verbiage, the use of repetition, and the
device of a child narrator. The larger theme comes into play still dealing with religion when the
poem is aligned with its counterpart The Tyger, to question God s intentions behind him creating all
of humanity including what is holy and virtuous, and what is vile and

42. The Symbolism In The Cask Of Amontillado By Edgar Allen Poe
Edgar Allen Poe is known for the various literary devices he uses in his works. One of the most
famous devices he uses is symbolism. In many of his stories, including The Masque of the Red
Death, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Tell Tale Heart, and The Cask of Amontillado, Poe
uses symbolism to further develop each story by the messages he writes between the lines.
Symbolism is an important aspect of Poe s many works, seeing as how it allows the readers to
make connections within the stories. In The Cask of Amontillado, Poe represents symbolism through
the title of the short story, the outfit Fortunato wears, and the Montresor family motto and coat of
arms. Many would not look to a title of a piece of literature for symbolism. In The Cask of
Amontillado, Poe uses the key word cask as a huge symbol. The word cask refers to, a sturdy
cylindrical container for storing liquids, such as Amontillado, a fine wine, in this case (Lorcher).
Montresor introduces the topic of the wine to his former friend Fortunato by saying, My dear
Fortunato, you are luckily met. How remarkably well you are looking to day. But I have
received a pipe of what passes for Amontillado, and I have my doubts (Poe). Fortunato is
extremely intoxicated from carnival festivities prior to his conversation with Montresor, so it is
probable that his decision to go into the catacombs with Montresor is not for the benefit of
anyone but himself. He sees this journey with Montresor as a way to acquire one of two
possible outcomes free wine or a chance to further humiliate Montresor, especially after
Montresor suggests that Fortunato is not capable of distinguishing the Amontillado and mentions
the name of a rival, Luchresi (Lorcher). The symbolism in the key word of cask is that it has the
same root as the word casket. Poe s use of symbolism in this regard is often overlooked and
written off as mere coincidence, yet that is far from the truth. Fortunato s love of wine, and the
ignorant and easily influenced state the wine puts him in, leads him to make some of his most
destructive decisions to not only others, but also to himself. The Amontillado is a symbol of
Fortunato s downfall, or in other words, the love he has for the cask

43. Reflection On The Long Chain Reflection
Connects: The Long Chain Reflection In the movie, I thought the story of the chain of events
leading to the various chemical discoveries was very interesting. For most of the discoveries, It
was not a straightforward process in which the intention behind the formation of the new product
coincided with its practical use. There were a lot of discoveries made for one purpose, but ended
up being implemented for a different purpose. Not only that, but there were several products
which led to subsequent discoveries in completely unrelated fields. I thought it was interesting
how the history of the development of polymers began with the intention of creating a protective
coating for the hull of cargo ships, and eventually gave way to products like, clothing dyes,
alternative forms of light, fertilizers, etc.. Throughout the movie, it seemed that when a need
emerged in the world, the chemists of the time went about trying to find a solution. This then
created a domino effect because once one need was met, it would usually affect something else,
creating another need to fulfil. For example, the color dye industry boomed in Germany because
of the discovery of the first artificial aniline dye by William Perkin. This was followed by a
growth in the population. The growth in population caused a food crisis, which needed to be solved
by the inventionof fertilizer. As a result, calcium carbide and the Haber Bosch process were
invented. The product from the Haber Bosch

44. Analysis Of My Life
The small, ethnically decorated room was filled with genuine laughter, echoing through the
hallway. It was the first thing I heard when I entered the room. A loud group of friends sat on the
dusty, brown couch in the middle of the room. The studs on their distressed jeans reflected the
ceiling light that shined into my eyes. The scent of the warm, Turkish coffee they were drinking
lingered across the room. Dozens of motivational posters covered the walls. There was a
Moroccan inspired gold and black trim that hung along the ceiling. I heard the mellow beat of a
tabla, which is a popular musical instrument all across the Middle Eastand South Asia. I was
introduced to Tamara, who worked at the front desk of the Middle Eastern Student Center... Show

She returned a few minutes later, and was ready to continue the interview. This might be a
sensitive subject. Do you know if this facility has ever suffered from hate crimes or violence? I
asked nervously. I feel like the facility didn t receive any, but individuals have. I don t think
people intend to attack the Middle Eastern Student Center because it s just a resource center. It s
just there to provide resources. I m pretty sure our director faces difficulties in bringing up issues
facing Middle Eastern culture and things like that because people don t really care, and we re
such a small minority, Tamara said. I already knew that xenophobia and Islamophobia were
relevant, but it still surprised me that many individuals had to deal with such hatred. Tamara also
brought up how many students of Middle Eastern descent or those who practiced Islam came to
the center for counseling and support after the brutal terrorist attack in France in late 2015. Many
students reported being taunted by racist comments because they wore a hijab or a beard. Despite
this unfortunate event, it did bring the community together, and closer than they were before. It
allowed everyone in the community to take a moment and appreciate how lucky they were to be
part of an organization that created a supportive atmosphere. Have there ever been efforts made to
close down or expand this facility? I asked

45. The Disaster Of Historic Proportions
BY now you ve seen the starkly beautiful shots of Boston buried under snow: the panoramic city
under a white blanket; snowbanks so high they crest over parked cars; piercing icicles glinting for
two full stories from gutters dammed with ice; coat muffled people dwarfed by snow walled
corridors that once were sidewalks.
You may have seen the funny images as well: the man snowboarding down an all but empty major
boulevard, pulled by his friend s snowmobile; drunk men diving out of second floor windows into
six foot snowbanks; windows that merely frame a wall of snow.
But for those of us living here, it s not a pretty picture. We are being devastated by a slow motion
natural disaster of historic proportions. The disaster is eerily quiet. There are no floating bodies or
vistas of destroyed homes. But there s no denying that this is a catastrophe.
In just three weeks, between Jan. 27 and Feb. 15, we have had four epic blizzards seven feet of
precipitation over three weeks which crushed roofs, burst gutters, destroyed roads and sidewalks,
closed schools and businesses, shut down highways, crippled public transit and trapped people in
their homes. The infamous Blizzard of 1978 brought around 27 inches of snow and shut down the
region for a week. In less than a month, we ve seen more than three times as much snow. The
temperature has hovered between 5 and 25 degrees, so the snow and ice haven t melted.
