Introduction
It has been said that worship is the core or center of mission. The ultimate goal of any missionary
is to bring people (entire people groups) into a passionate, relationship with God. John Piper states,

Morocco is a country that is not an open country to various religions aside from Islam, despite
what their Constitution and leading politicians claim. Furthermore, Morocco is currently 0.01%
evangelized overall. It is in desperate need of evangelism. There are over 13 million people in
Morocco that need to hear about Jesus Christ. That would be the equivalent of all of Illinois and
Vermont being completely unreached. This paper will attempt to outline a strategy of beginning a
church planting movement that reaches the rural Arab, Moroccan s and more specifically, the
Arabized Berber ethnic group that are primarily farmers and small villagers, through practical
means of farming techniques and livestock care that will establish relationships. In order to
accomplish this, this paper will first attempt to give a brief background of the Arabized Berbers by
highlighting their history, culture, language and religion. Second, this paper will survey the work
of current missionaries among them that explores the history of missions, the status of the church
today and the strategies being employed. Finally, this paper will offer a proposal for a strategy to
reach the Arabized Berbers that involves prayer, financial support, partnering with indigenous
churches, believers and other organizations and tent making skills that encourage self support.

Toxocariasis Research Paper
Toxocariasis is one of the most unappreciated parasitic diseases in which millions of people in
the United States are exposed to unknowingly on a daily basis. The disease is caused by
accidental transmission of roundworms from the GI tract of canines and felines, Toxocara cani
and Toxocara cati, to humans with children being the most likely to become infected causing
blindness, organ failure, and even death. Often, the people who at the greatest risk are children
who become infected by playing in parks, sandboxes, and in their own household particularly if
their family owns a cat or dog (Lee, Moore, Bottazzi, Hotez). A large national sample among
people ≥6 years of age conducted in 1988 through 1994 revealed that 14% had Toxocara
antibodies,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One observational study of more than 100 children with visceral or ocular toxocariasis, and treated
with a variety of either mebendazole or albendazole regimens, showed that most treated children
had a decrease in Toxocara antibodies and improvement of symptoms, but no conclusions could be
drawn about optimal regimen (Woodhall, Fiore). However, using Albendazole or Mebendazole
causes killing of the parasite which causes a secondary reaction of severe inflammation. A
secondary treatment of corticosteroids is usually followed to target severe allergic reactions of anti
inflammatory properties due to the body s strong autoimmune response to the parasite
(Despommier). An alternative treatment, diethylcarbamazine, is available in many countries
around the world, but since the drug has been shown to have greater negative effects, treatment is
currently unavailable in the United States (Woodhall, Fiore). Progress for a cure remains slow due
to the low numbers of infected patients and the late diagnosis of the disease in which many cases it
past the point of effective medical treatment to save the patient from permanent damage. The best
current treatment for toxocariasis is prevention by keeping updated on pets vaccinations and
following proper hygiene protocols especially for children in public

Systematic Observation
Systematic observation is the establishment of different ways to get information through watching
and listening to children. Systematic observation is widely used by educators because it is similar
to a routine and it could be informal. In order to get very accurate data it is necessary to determine
the purpose of the observationand be focused on it at the time of observing (McAfee Leong,
2007). It is really important to be very realistic during these observations. Educators have to be
aware of their prejudices before starting the observations. Moreover, before starting an observation,
the educator cannot demonstrate or feel any signs of labels or stereotypes. In order to make an
observation useful, it is necessary to take out all the believes... Show more content on

When you put all the windows together and open them you will have a complete view of the
panorama. Multiple windows are composed of source, context and method. Source refers to the
information and records obtained from people about a child. The primary sources are the child,
parents, teachers, specialists and classroom assistants. Methods of collecting information refers to
how the information is gathered. There are formal and informal methods to get data. Formal
methods are based on standardized tests like screening or achievement tests. Informal methods are
based on normal and daily classroom activities. The context refers to the concrete factors in the
childrens environment. This environment should be composed of physical space, materials,
activities, people and the amount of teachers structure. Some examples of context for assessments
are daily routines, dramatic play, classroom meetings or large groups and learning centers. An
educator could base the methods he or she is going to use on the information gathered from the
sources. For example, if the teacher gathers information about a child that is struggling with
reading, the professor will find the adequate methods to help the child read better. At the same time,
the teacher can create the appropriate environment for the child based on the information from the
sources. For example, if the

Symbolism In The House Of The Scorpion
In The House of the Scorpion, Nancy Farmer states, No one can tell the difference between a
clone and a human. That s because there isn t any difference. The idea of clones being inferior is a
lie. Members of the AlacrГЎn household try to choose Matt s destiny before he is created and
impose false allegations on him throughout his life. The belief that Matt is dangerous, a useless
clone, and will become like El PatrГіn leaves him no room to create an identity of his own. In the
House of the Scorpion, Matteo AlacrГЎn is faced with the internal conflict of what his real identity
is and the author interprets that he does not have his destiny chosen for him but he becomes his
own person through his experiences. The theft of Matteo AlacrГЎn s identity

Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide On The Southern Ocean Essay
Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide Uptake and Physical Transport Mechanisms in the Southern Ocean
Introduction
One third of the carbon dioxide (CO2) that is in the atmosphere as a result of human activity has
been absorbed by oceans where it can remain as carbon for tens to hundreds of years (Ma et al.,
2015). Anthropogenic CO2 (ACO2) primarily enters the ocean though differences in partial
pressure between the atmosphere and ocean boundary, although uptake by marine organisms is also
a significant dissolved carbon contributor (Millero, 1995). Once the ACO2 is dissolved into
seawater however, the path it takes from dissolution to sequestration is less clear. Millero (1995)
found that ACO2 in the ocean is often transported to a different area of the ocean through physical
mechanisms that include wind driven Ekman transport, eddy fluxes, and lateral transport. Each of
these mechanisms contribute to the transportation of masses of water, and therefore dissolved
ACO2, around the Southern Ocean (Millero, 1995).
Carbon Uptake
Anthropogenic Carbon dioxide is taken up into the ocean in numerous ways, like non
anthropogenic carbon, and ACO2 is considered a component of the total global CO2 (Millero,
1995). The mechanism of uptake of CO2 is through the differences in partial pressure between the
atmosphere and ocean interface. The flux of CO2 across the atmosphere ocean boundary is largely
controlled by the partial pressure of CO2 in the atmosphere compared to the CO2 in the ocean

The entirety of this experiment was to conclude if temperature had an effect on enzyme activity.
The experiment tested the perimeters of enzyme activity and to see whether or not the temperature
had an effect on the amount of substrate produced. Enzymes are especially well known for being
catalyst within a reaction (Royal Society of Chemistry). A catalyst is, in this case an enzyme, which
speeds up a reaction by lowering the activation energy required to start the reaction (Royal Society
of Chemistry). Previous research has shown that while the temperaturerises reacting molecules have
more kinetic energy. The more kinetic energy each molecule has, the greater the chance of reaching
its point of highest catalytic activity (Royal Society of

Iraq War Vs Gulf War
When we think of the wars that have happened in the United States. I can only think of one that
got stuck in my mind. I can remember practicing for bomb threats. I think I was in Kindergarten at
that time. The Gulf War started in 1990 and ended in late 1991. Within this time frame, we saw
many articles on the war. We are going to be learning how it started to the end of the war.
On July 17th, 1990, is when Iraqi accused Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates of taking over
the world oil market. (Fitzgerald) So in all the war actually started over the oil market. (Farley)

Analysis Of Barbara Ehrenreich s Nickel And Dimed
There are many varying opinions towards the lower class, some believe they are lazy and others
think they are earnest hardworking folk. In her book Nickel and Dimed , Barbara Ehrenreich
takes a closer look at the lives and hardships of the lower class. Her goal is to bring awareness to
the struggles of these people and while attempting to disprove negative misconceptions about these
people. The author writes to an audience of privileged upper class people trying to prove just how
difficult it is living in the lower class. Although Ehrenreich does achieve these goals, her arguments
are weakened because she focuses more on her experiences rather than those around her. Despite
living in similar conditions to these people, she isn t getting the... Show more content on

When struggling to find housing, she mentions that 59 percent of poor renters, amounting to a total

information she chooses to include adds insight to the severity of the situation, but these statistics
are hidden away as footnotes at the bottom of the pages. While they add to her argument, her

Action Plan For The Tiger
Jonathan Turner
Action Plan for the Tiger, Panthera tigris
1.Description of Species
Description
The Tiger, Panthera tigris (Linnaeus 1758), is the largest of the cat species found in the world.
Tigers are most notable for their pattern of vertical stripes which can either be dark brown or
black, and their fur which can range from yellow to reddish orange, with the rare white fur
present in some individuals as well. Tigers can reach a total length of eleven feet. In the wild they
have been known to weight up to 857 pounds (Wood, 1983). The Bengal Tigeris the largest of the
subspecies whereas the Sumatran is the smallest. From the paw to shoulder tigers range in height
from 2.3 to 4.0 feet tall (Karanth, 2003). Males are bigger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There is believed to be no wild South China tigers in existence with the number in captivity to be
around sixty five (World Wildlife Fund, 2014). There is between 400 and 500 Sumatran tigers
estimated to be in the wild as of 2014 (World Wildlife Fund, 2014). Distribution
In the past when the distribution of tigers was at its peak, tigers ranged from the Caspian Sea to
Siberia (Piper et al., 2007). In the Indonesian Islands they were predominantly found on Sumatra,
Java, and Bali. There has also been fossil evidence to conclude that at one point tigers were
existing in Borneo and the island of Palawan. Tigers became extinct in Western Asia during the
20th century and became limited to the remaining parts of their circulation. Today their locations
have been greatly reduced to India, west of China such as Nepal and Bhutan, and also
Southeastern Asia like Bangladesh. Sumatra is the only island that is still inhabited by tigers
(Chundawat et al., 2011). The historical range of the tiger has diminished by 93% since the start
of the 20th century and known area occupied by tigers has reduced by 41% from 1997 to 2007
(Dinerstein et all., 2007).

What Are The Challenges Of Coul Ullman s Decentralized...
JCP is a company which consistently maintained a 100 year old tradition. JCP is a dry goods and
clothing store established by James Cash Penney in partnership with his employers and merchants.
It started expanding its stores since then and by 1930 the number of stores were 1452 and the
number of associates (employees) were about 25,000. The core growth strategy adopted by the
company was decentralized merchandizing when its competitors adopted centralized merchadizing
. This started showing up problems for the company as their strategy could not show the daily
updates of the sales of individual products unlike its competitor s strategy. Weak inventory
management system also added to the problems. Despite such operational inefficiencies, the

turnover and even hindered new recruits to enter the company. This made Ullman to build a new
culture which is customer focused. But it was not so easy and he had to face various challenges.
Then he initiated redefining the culture at JCP with the help of the newly appointed HR chief,
Michael Thielmann. He made various symbolic changes incuding a campaign called Just call me
Mike which is intended to encourage all the associates of the company to address each other by
their first names irrespective of the cadre they belong to. He brought in other changes like cubicle
decors, relaxation in dress code and disbanding of the office police . This was only the beginning.
It was a big challenge for Ullman to change a century old culture. The reasons why Ullman thought
of culture change were:
пѓ Office police were appointed who enforced the guidelines and decorum for the associates.
пѓ As outsiders had the information about culture in JCP, youngsters were not inclined to join the

PostSecret, it is a website where anonymous postcards are mailed in and later posted up online to
share with others. Its wide use and popularity has brought to attention the concern of people s
willingness to share secrets as long as they stay anonymous. In today s world where we are
constantly being monitored, it should be no surprise that we have grown the need and desire for
more privacy. In Peter Singer s, Visible Man: Ethics in a World without Secrets , he also speaks
about the concern of increased monitoring but claims that it will create a world where morals are

So what is privacy? Privacy is the ability to keep certain things to yourself, to not be observed nor
disturbed. People s developing need for privacy has been noted through history, and as Peter
Singer states, privacy is viewed quite possibly as a status symbol, since an impoverished peasant
could not afford a house with separate rooms (463). An example would be how the Government
of the United States created the NSA in order to try spy and keep tabs on its citizens privately
without them noticing, which was working up until Julian Assange revealed hundreds of
thousands of classified files which exposed corruption from all over the world including the
government s secret data collection project also known as the NSA. The leaking of these files
brought on a new type of surveillance known as inverse surveillance, or as Steve Mann ( professor
of computer engineering) calls it, sousveillance . Inverse surveillance is meant to keep tabs on the
government and expose abuse of power going

The House of the Spirits and Kiss of the Spiderwoman Essay
It is, at times, stated that paradoxes allow for misinterpretation in almost every aspect of life.
Wherever those paradoxes appear, conflicts, both external and internal, arise and misunderstandings
ensue. In the two novels The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende and Kiss of the Spiderwoman
by Manuel Puig, however, the characters Albaand Molina, respectively, create paradoxesthrough
their subversive actions. These paradoxes create conflicts in self interest, which, in turn, reveal the
impossibilityof actually knowing or understanding one s true motives.
In Allende s The House of the Spirits, the character Alba displays subversive tendencies around her
progression into adulthood. For example, Alba ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The paradox in this instance appears in the idea that one cannot tell if Alba values her sanity
more than her life, or vice versa. Also, one cannot fathom what Alba truly wants to accomplish
through her makeshift memoirs. Even though one can argue that Alba records these events
because Clara told her that it was necessary for survival, one could also argue that Alba is doing
so in order to show her devotion to Miguel and his cause. By disobeying the warden, Alba
displays rebellious tendencies. Also, one could argue that Alba does this in order to take her mind
off of Miguel, as some of the other inmates tell Alba to don t think about Miguel .
Though he is, in most aspects, the exact opposite of Alba, the character Molina from Puig s Kiss of
the Spiderwoman also exhibits subversive behaviors. And with these actions, their respective
paradoxes also appear to create the aforementioned conflicts in interest. For example, there is one
instance in which Molina states that, for him, acting like a man in a relationship is not for me, thus
stating that he enjoys being submissive in a relationship instead of being the aggressor. However,
Molina takes the initiative when agreeing to support Valentin s guerilla motives, not submitting to
Valentin, but standing on an equal level with him. The fact that Molina is not submissive in regards
to Valentin allows one to question whether Molina is pretending to be submissive in order to gain
Valentin s pity and or trust, or rather

Conflict Between UPS And Canada Post
The case started on January 19, 2000 when UPS served a Notice of Intent to Submit a Claim to
Arbitration to the Government of Canada for a breach of certain obligations under the North
American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) (Notice of Intent, 2000). The real conflict is between
UPS and Canada Post, where UPS alleges that they participated in anti competitive practices that are
illegal. Canada PostCorporation was formed under the Canada Post Corporation Act in 1981. They
have the exclusive rights of operating a postal service in Canada, having a monopoly in letter mail
(Notice of Intent, 2000) Canada Post expanded into the courier business through Purolator, Priority
Courier, Skypak, and Xpresspost. It dominates the Canadian market with control of almost 50% of
the courier business in Canada. As Canada Post is a state enterprise under the Government of

In order to determine the advantages of TMF in the competitive environment, Michael Porter s

A company without a strategic vision is like a fish out of water gasping for air. This analogy
strikes an honest chord with Colorado Creative Music (CCM). In order for a company to be

Another problem for CCM is Skanson is currently the general manager, leading talent developer,
and the leading performer. Skanson spends a majority of his time on tour promoting his music,
which leads to little time for managing the company.
Distribution
Distribution channels are another problem for CCM. CD revenues generated from performances
accounted for approximately 85% of total sales in 2000. Wholesale revenues were approximately
6% of total sales. Direct mail sales accounted for approximately 6% of sales, while online sales
accounted for a mere 3% of sales. CCM recognized that the price its wholesalers were charging
chain stores was preventing its music from entering the market.
Financial
Financially, CCM is in distress. The company realized a net profit of $20,626.70 in 1998, but
despite additional sales growth and additional years of experience, the company only realized
$4,292.00 in net income in 2000. The company s gross profit increased steadily form 1997 to
2000, but expenses have also increased steadily.
Technology
CCM isn t technologically up to date. The company is currently operated out of a large rental
house. If CCM wants to grow and attract potential artists and employees, the company should
move into a facility equipped to handle a record label. If CCM wants to be considered a reputable
record label, it needs to have all the amenities of a recording studio. For

Regulatory Issues Of The Private Sector
Regulatory Issues
Some breaches goes way beyond the when and how bad the breach is and what agencies will get
involved. The fear is not only about their own customers, clients and shareholders but from
agencies like the SEC, FTC, FCC, CFPB and others alike. All have different agendas, regulations
and standards on how they approach a cyber breach situation. The major fear for the private sector
is regulatory laws. What if they are not following federal regulatory requirements? This is a risk
that some companies are not willing to take to share information about a threat they may have

Coworkers. These are the people that the majority of us have to deal with by the time we reach

over the course of time I ve learned how to handle this type of situation. At any job you will have

that my co worker was not just finishing her task but changing what she believed was wrong

obviously was not true, and goes to show that everything she had stocked up was not in the
correct shelves. Although it was her mistake and I had nothing to do with it, she tried dragging
me down with her to save herself. In addition, our other fellow co worker, Dora, never talked to

Cutthroat Kitchen Compare And Contrast
For my essay I am writing about a compare and contrast between two cooking shows that I watch
and know well. Both of these shows are on Food network the first show is cutthroat kitchen and the
second is chopped. These are two shows that are similar yet have differences to each other.
Cutthroat kitchen gives four chefs $25,000 to spend that money on helping themselves or
sabotaging their competitors (FoodNetwork). It is cooking competitions so they have 3 rounds were

what sabotages they were given to which if any. The criterion the judge goes by is the

How Did The Ironworks Affect The Economy
The perspective of many historians and textbooks usually consist of the same general understanding
of specific issues in American history. For example, key events or battles such as _____, or
common trends that aid in the understanding of how society operated at that point in history.
However, many American history textbooks avoid the topic of widespread manufacturing industries
in the south, and their simultaneous development with the much more powerful agricultural industry
. Set in the Deep South, the state of Alabama cultured an ever growing ironworks industry that
manufactured items spanning from farming tools to railroad tracks. In addition, Georgia, which is

Already, it can be deduced that having a local ironworks would have a positive effect on the local
economy, as it would be significantly cheaper to purchase tools that had much lower shipping costs
because of where they were manufactured.
In addition, this ironworks was one the earliest, and inspired others to start ironworks. For example,
the Alabama ironworks received information published about them in the Franklin County
Tuscumbian in 1824 . The article described the ironworks as being having a forge, furnace, and saw
and grist mills. This means that the forge supplied their own fuel, purified iron ore, and wrought the
iron into tools for farms. Despite many ironworks not still being here today due to the civil war, it is
understood that there were many ironworks in Alabama that aided in the southern economy through
both aiding plantations and though the eventual exports.
Another significant ironworks in Alabama was the Shelby Ironworks. Although most of the
ironworks development was during the civil war, it consisted of major developments during the
antebellum period leading into the civil war. One of the significant advantages to this forgery was
that there was a very large deposit of iron ore near the furnace, giving the ironworks a great
advantage when it came to quality and quantity of their products. Like the Tannehill ironworks, the
Shelby ironworks also sold tools to local farm in Alabama. However, they also sold raw

A Comparison of Two Therapeutic Approaches to Mental...
A Comparison of Two Therapeutic Approaches to Mental Disorders
The essence of the medical model is the view that abnormal behaviours like mental disorders result
from physical problems and should be treated medically, in other words; mental disorders resemble
physical diseases, in that they are both illness of the body. As a result, the medical approach would
argue that mental illness and therapeutic action should be taken from the medical perspective.
Whereas the psychodynamic approach concerning mental illness put forward by Freud was based
partly on his psychosexual development theory. In essence, the child passes through stages such as

Drugs have been used with some success to treat various disorders such as schizophrenia, anxiety,
and depression. The medical model argues for direct manipulation of the physiological system
within the body, and uses somatic therapy (a major part of which is drug therapy). Drug therapy has
been used in the treatment of several disorders, and has been used in the treatment of patients
suffering from major depression and schizophrenia. Neuroleptic drugs (drugs that reduce psychotic
symptoms but can also produce some of the symptoms of neurological diseases) are often used in
the treatment of schizophrenia. Common neuroleptic drugs include the phenothiazines, the
butyrophenones and the thioxanthenes as they reduce the positive symptoms of schizophrenia for
example delusions and hallucinations, but have little effect on the negative symptoms e.g. lack of
motivation and emotion and social withdrawal. The drugs used to treat schizophrenia have the great
advantage that schizophrenic patients no longer need to be restrained in straitjackets. However,
they have significant disadvantages. First, as we have seen, they have several unfortunates side
effects. Second, the drugs basically reduce symptoms, and cannot be regarded as providing a cure
for schizophrenia.
This is very unlike the psychodynamics approach to treating mental disorders; the psychodynamic

Along with Prince Gong s active role in seeking to improve China s diplomatic relations and
advance the military 11, the dominant leaders of modernization sought to take the foreigners as
their teachers and models; then they may come to the same level and be their equals; finally they

governors and scholar officials who began to seek out an effective path for reform 12. These efforts
would become known as the Self Strengthening Movement. The leading theorist of the movement
was the scholar official Feng Guifen who believed in order to strengthen the Qing state, traditional
Confucian culture and institutions must be preserved and supplemented by Western weapons and

needed for it to truly be in effect. With the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Zongli

I was glad to see that some of the pots were setting upside down. I liked how I was able to see
what the bottoms looked like. The Cobb Museum had a collection of Old World oil lamps. One
lamp was cream colored and teardrop shaped. The top was adorned with a thin u shaped
decoration. Small etched circles added a decorated touch. The top of the lamp had a small
looped handle. At the back of the case there was an interesting oil lamp. It was tan colored with
hints of red. The handle looked like the back fin of a whale. Next to the spout was a floral
design. Two gazelles with long, thin horns graced the sides of the lamp (http:/
/www.cobb.msstate.edu/museum/). The lamp that stood out the most was a black lamp with four
spouts from Rome (Cobb). It was the only displayed lamp with multiple spouts. Two of the
spouts were missing, but it was obvious where the missing ones would have been. The two
remaining spouts had wide openings. The lamp had protruding triangles between each spout to
give the lamp a diamond shape. All of the oil lamps in Cobb were varied and unique. The replica
of the Rosetta Stone was obviously one of the most interesting pieces in the museum. I am ashamed
to admit that prior to taking Anthropology, I did not know what the Rosetta Stone was. This very
important artifact was made in 196 B.C. It is a shiny black stone with three different sections of

The American Revolution And The Indian War
The American Revolution took place in 1754 1781. The revolution was marked by the
beginning of the French and the Indian war. This war primarily took place in America. The war
involved France and Britain. They were fighting for colonial supremacy in the American North.
The colonizers that were mostly the British officials who sought the opinions of the general
public. This was led to the war in 1754 at the Albany Congress. The American s fought together
with the British while the French joined forces with the different Native tribe. This revolution is
referred to as the French and Indian War. The British ended the French Indian War that lasted for
seven years (1754 1763) by capturing Canadian key forts and France key cities in Ohio Valley.
During the Pontiac s Uprising, Pontiac was the chief of Ottawa. Pontiac led native tribes to join
together and raided American settlements and British forts in Ohio Valley. These raids were signs
of the tribes rebelling against foreigners, who were stealing tribal lands. The British forces were
powerful, and the Pontiac s rallies were subdued. George Grenville s solution was a proclamation,
issued in 1763, temporarily banning all colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains
(Berkin 2014). The Proclamation Line of 1763 was the boundary that Britain established in the
Appalachian Mountains, west of which white settlement was banned; it was intended to reduce
conflict between Indians and colonists (Belkin 2014).

Analysis Of Robert Frost s Mending Wall
The turn of the twentieth century brought about in the United States the largest economic and
industrial period of change ever experienced in the history of mankind. This period of time was
characterised by big power hungry monopolies, the downfall of colonialism, devastating outbreaks
of cholera and typhoid, and most importantly the rejection of old world traditions. During this time
of change, In 1914 Robert Frostpublished his poem Mending Wall. The poem is literally about the
speaker and his neighbour repairing a wall that divides their property, but figuratively, this
American classic embodies the spirit of a new age in American history. In the Mending Wall ,
Robert Frost uses the literary device of symbolism to express his theme of the destruction of old
world tradition.
The use of symbolism in the poem Mending Wall expresses the new age American way of
thinking in contrast to the social tradition of the old world. In the poem, the speaker and his
neighbour meat ritual every year in the spring to make repairs to the wall that divides them and
their property. It could be argued that the holes in the wall are a symbol for the deterioration of
old world traditions. The speaker says in regards to the holes in the wall No one has seen them
made or heard them made, But at spring mending time we find them there. Everything will erode
with time. Whether it is as simple as the stones of a wall, or as grand and seemingly untouchable as
the traditions or culture of

In fact, an expert from the L.A. Sheriff s Department who testified at the Sleepy Lagoon trial is
quoted as saying:
Let us view it from the biological basis. . . Total disregard for human life has always been
universal throughout the Americas in the human population. And this Mexican element feels a
desire to kill or at least to draw blood (Tobar, 1997). On top of the racism faced in the courtroom
was the media bias against the Mexican American population. In the process of covering events in
the city, the then Hearst owned papers did a series of articles on the pachuco gangs, depicting
Mexican American neighborhoods as being fraught with violence, places of raping and
pillaging (Tobar, 1997). This was the atmosphere of the city at the time of the Sleepy Lagoon
murder in 1942, when the body of Jose Diaz was found at a common swimming hole after a
party. Because of the public outrage over pachuco gangs, which was instigated by the media, the
sheriff s department went on a sweep of the city s barrios, rounding up and arresting over 600
young men in connection to the Sleepy Lagoon case. Eventually 24 men were indicted for murder,
and 12 were convicted (Tobar, 1997). During the trial in early 1943, the defendants were forced to

Crime Reduction And Governments By Hiring More Police Essay
Police are the officials primarily assigned to the task of crime reduction and governments are
naturally tempted to address perceived crime problems by hiring more police (Marvell Moody,
1996). It is thought that if police are seen more frequently in an area, potential criminal may be
persuaded to think that there is a high likelihood of arrest in that area (Sampson Cohen, 1988). It is
not known really if adding policedoes in fact reduce crime(Marvell Moody, 1996), but it goes back
to what society considers helping, as they are the ones that vote for more money to be allocated to
their police departments. Shawnee County, Kansas Commissioners are considering allocating funds
for the Sheriffs department to hire 20 new deputies there will be no money allocated for extra patrol
cars though.
The department heads are proposing that the department should look into two officers per patrol
car. The issue of whether to put one or two officers in a patrol unit has been discussed for years
with numerous studies to back it up (del Carmen Guevara, 2003). In 1956, Frank D. Day shared
the results of his study of one vs. two man units in the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Based off his studies, He found that, Individual officers should cover smaller areas and more units
must be on patrol if one man units are used. Neither a heavily congested area nor an area
containing a high concentration of crime should be covered by one man patrol cars. One man units

Fort Lauderdale s Plastic And Reconstructive Surgeon
Fort Lauderdale s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. John Michael Thomassen can use chin
implants to increase the size of the chin or he can reduce the size and/or projection of a patient s
chin with a chin reduction surgery. With both of these procedures, Dr. Thomassen provides his
patients with a natural looking chin that is more proportionate to his or her other facial features.
The Chin Plays an Important Role in the Proportions of the Face
The chin greatly affects the overall appearance of the face; furthermore, the chin also plays an
important role in the way the patient s facial profile looks. For example, a chin that is
proportionately too small for the other features of the face can cause the size of the nose and
forehead to be exaggerated. Dr. John Michael Thomassen offers chin augmentationprocedures with

Chin Implants Are Used in Fort Lauderdale to Address a Weak Chin
Dr. Thomassen frequently performs chin augmentation procedures using chin implants to correct a

An Effective Technique For An Organization
Changes affect every person in a business, including the managers and the employees. Managing
modifications in a business can be difficult and countless people within an organization can be
resistant for various reasons. Participation is considered an effective technique for reducing
resistance to change, other techniques includes education and communication, facilitation and
support, and negotiation.
Change in a business can be uncomfortable since it requires surrendering a certain way of
thinking and performing processes and implementing a novel way to accomplish a business
goal. Encouraging employees to participate in the alteration can be one of the utmost ways to
reduce the resistance to change. An employee who participates in the process of the conversion
is further likely to embrace the change. Therefore, one way is to encompass groups that will be
affected by innovative procedures in the development of fresh ideas. In other words, ask workers
for their opinions and suggestions and integrate their solutions. If people are given the
opportunity to seize responsibility for specific parts of a program their sense of ownership will
craft stronger advocates. Also valuable input can be gained from employees who really perform the
day to day work as management may not have the information needed to change the design. Before
making slight adjustments anyone who will be affected or who opposes the transformation should

In this position, buyers have a provisional advantage over sellers because buyers can demand
incentives from sellers to close the transaction or find another agreeable seller. The opportunity
cost, or whatever someone is willing to give up in exchange for what he or she wants, is
typically basic because the buyer can simply find another house that meets his or her needs. The
opportunity cost for sellers in this market are typically very high as they may waste time with
buyers who do not intend to buy their property; time is very important to sellers, but not as
important to buyers in this type of market. Sellers are typically highly motivated to sell and can
easily become desperate to sell a home quickly in a buyer s market; buyers can easily take

As a girl you are expected to break, but in reality girls have to pretend nothing will break them or
they will again be judged by society. This tends to be the case because if a girl breaks it will just
add fire to the sexist prejudices put upon them as a gender. In Serena Nanda s article Arranging a
Marriage in India, she talks about her research in India, when a son s parents are looking for a
wife for their son they have a very long list of expectations. She should be from the same caste
system, pretty, not too intelligent, meshes with the family well, doesn t stray from home, nor
does she gossip or call home a lot, and the most important thing is that she is pure before
marriage. Though these expectations tend to look somewhat different in the U.S. they have the
same ideas. A girl should be boxed in away from society and taking care of the children or
perhaps being a good cook to put it into simpler terms because that is what society unfairly tells
us a girl should be able to do. Serena also talks about how it is very important for a girl to protect
the family name and in no way ever disgrace it. If that girl does disgrace the family (for example
not staying pure) it is not uncommon for her brother or even cousin to murder her. Why is a
family s expectations based on what a girl does? These unrealistic expectations push girls too far
and cause us to think our worth is less because we cannot do it all, even though society thinks that s

Management issues of Premier Bank

organized in a manner that there is a head office where the organization s top administration work
from, and branches that are going by branch directors. There are likewise different parts of
administration inside a branch, for example, relationship, operations and credit administration. All
supervisors must guarantee that they satisfy the strategies, targets and guidelines set by the head
office. Bank directors experience challenges in all the key result zones of their work.

Collection And Monitoring Of Particulate Matter
Collection and monitoring of Particulate Matter:
The aerodynamic properties of particles determine how they are transported in air and how they
can be removed from it. These properties also govern how far they get into the air passages of
the respiratory system. Additionally, they provide information on the chemical composition and
the sources of particles. Particles have irregular shapes and their aerodynamic behaviour is
expressed in terms of the diameter of an idealised sphere. The sampling and description of
particles is based on this aerodynamic diameter, which is usually simply referred to as particle size
. Particles having the same aerodynamic diameter may have different dimensions and shapes. Some
airborne particles are over 10,000 times bigger than others in terms of aerodynamic diameter.
Based on size, particulate matter is often divided into two main groups: o The coarse fraction
contains the larger particles with a size ranging from 2.5 to 10 Вµm (PM10 PM2.5). o The fine
fraction contains the smaller ones with a size up to 2.5 Вµm (PM2.5). The particles in the fine
fraction which are smaller than 0.1 Вµm are called ultrafine particles.
Most of the total mass of airborne particulate matter is usually made up of fine particles ranging
from 0.1 to 2.5 Вµm. Ultrafine particles often contribute only a few percent to the total mass,
though they are the most numerous, representing over 90% of the number of particles.
Airborne particulate matter represents a complex

The disease is caused by accidental transmission of roundworms from the GI tract of canines and felines, Toxocara cani and Toxocara cati, to humans with children being the most likely to become infected causing blindness, organ failure, and even death. Often, the people who at the greatest risk are children who become infected by playing in parks, sandboxes, and in their own household particularly if their family owns a cat or dog (Lee, Moore, Bottazzi, Hotez). One observational study of more than 100 children with visceral or ocular toxocariasis, and treated with a variety of either mebendazole or albendazole regimens, showed that most treated children had a decrease in Toxocara antibodies and improvement of symptoms, but no conclusions could be drawn about optimal regimen (Woodhall, Fiore). However, using Albendazole or Mebendazole causes killing of the parasite which causes a secondary reaction of severe inflammation. A secondary treatment of corticosteroids is usually followed to target severe allergic reactions of anti inflammatory properties due to the body s strong autoimmune response to the parasite (Despommier). An alternative treatment, diethylcarbamazine, is available in many countries around the world, but since the drug has been shown to have greater negative effects, treatment is currently unavailable in the United States (Woodhall, Fiore). Progress for a cure remains slow due to the low numbers of infected patients and the late diagnosis of the disease in which many cases it past the point of effective medical treatment to save the patient from permanent damage. The best current treatment for toxocariasis is prevention by keeping updated on pets vaccinations and following proper hygiene protocols especially for children in public ... • 7. Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide On The Southern Ocean Essay Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide Uptake and Physical Transport Mechanisms in the Southern Ocean Introduction One third of the carbon dioxide (CO2) that is in the atmosphere as a result of human activity has been absorbed by oceans where it can remain as carbon for tens to hundreds of years (Ma et al., 2015). Anthropogenic CO2 (ACO2) primarily enters the ocean though differences in partial pressure between the atmosphere and ocean boundary, although uptake by marine organisms is also a significant dissolved carbon contributor (Millero, 1995). Once the ACO2 is dissolved into seawater however, the path it takes from dissolution to sequestration is less clear. Millero (1995) found that ACO2 in the ocean is often transported to a different area of the ocean through physical mechanisms that include wind driven Ekman transport, eddy fluxes, and lateral transport. Each of these mechanisms contribute to the transportation of masses of water, and therefore dissolved ACO2, around the Southern Ocean (Millero, 1995). Carbon Uptake Anthropogenic Carbon dioxide is taken up into the ocean in numerous ways, like non anthropogenic carbon, and ACO2 is considered a component of the total global CO2 (Millero, 1995). The mechanism of uptake of CO2 is through the differences in partial pressure between the atmosphere and ocean interface. The flux of CO2 across the atmosphere ocean boundary is largely controlled by the partial pressure of CO2 in the atmosphere compared to the CO2 in the ocean ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wherever those paradoxes appear, conflicts, both external and internal, arise and misunderstandings ensue. In the two novels The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende and Kiss of the Spiderwoman by Manuel Puig, however, the characters Albaand Molina, respectively, create paradoxesthrough their subversive actions. The paradox in this instance appears in the idea that one cannot tell if Alba values her sanity more than her life, or vice versa. Also, one cannot fathom what Alba truly wants to accomplish through her makeshift memoirs. Even though one can argue that Alba records these events because Clara told her that it was necessary for survival, one could also argue that Alba is doing so in order to show her devotion to Miguel and his cause. By disobeying the warden, Alba displays rebellious tendencies. Also, one could argue that Alba does this in order to take her mind off of Miguel, as some of the other inmates tell Alba to don t think about Miguel . Though he is, in most aspects, the exact opposite of Alba, the character Molina from Puig s Kiss of the Spiderwoman also exhibits subversive behaviors. And with these actions, their respective paradoxes also appear to create the aforementioned conflicts in interest. For example, there is one instance in which Molina states that, for him, acting like a man in a relationship is not for me, thus stating that he enjoys being submissive in a relationship instead of being the aggressor. However, Molina takes the initiative when agreeing to support Valentin s guerilla motives, not submitting to Valentin, but standing on an equal level with him. This means that the forge supplied their own fuel, purified iron ore, and wrought the iron into tools for farms. Despite many ironworks not still being here today due to the civil war, it is understood that there were many ironworks in Alabama that aided in the southern economy through both aiding plantations and though the eventual exports. Another significant ironworks in Alabama was the Shelby Ironworks. Although most of the ironworks development was during the civil war, it consisted of major developments during the antebellum period leading into the civil war. One of the significant advantages to this forgery was that there was a very large deposit of iron ore near the furnace, giving the ironworks a great advantage when it came to quality and quantity of their products. A Comparison of Two Therapeutic Approaches to Mental Disorders The essence of the medical model is the view that abnormal behaviours like mental disorders result from physical problems and should be treated medically, in other words; mental disorders resemble physical diseases, in that they are both illness of the body. As a result, the medical approach would argue that mental illness and therapeutic action should be taken from the medical perspective. Neuroleptic drugs (drugs that reduce psychotic symptoms but can also produce some of the symptoms of neurological diseases) are often used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Common neuroleptic drugs include the phenothiazines, the butyrophenones and the thioxanthenes as they reduce the positive symptoms of schizophrenia for example delusions and hallucinations, but have little effect on the negative symptoms e.g. lack of motivation and emotion and social withdrawal. The drugs used to treat schizophrenia have the great advantage that schizophrenic patients no longer need to be restrained in straitjackets. However, they have significant disadvantages. First, as we have seen, they have several unfortunates side effects. Second, the drugs basically reduce symptoms, and cannot be regarded as providing a cure for schizophrenia. The leading theorist of the movement was the scholar official Feng Guifen who believed in order to strengthen the Qing state, traditional Confucian culture and institutions must be preserved and supplemented by Western weapons and technological learning . This period of time was characterised by big power hungry monopolies, the downfall of colonialism, devastating outbreaks of cholera and typhoid, and most importantly the rejection of old world traditions. During this time of change, In 1914 Robert Frostpublished his poem Mending Wall. The poem is literally about the speaker and his neighbour repairing a wall that divides their property, but figuratively, this American classic embodies the spirit of a new age in American history. In the Mending Wall , Robert Frost uses the literary device of symbolism to express his theme of the destruction of old world tradition. Collection And Monitoring Of Particulate Matter Collection and monitoring of Particulate Matter: The aerodynamic properties of particles determine how they are transported in air and how they can be removed from it. These properties also govern how far they get into the air passages of the respiratory system. Additionally, they provide information on the chemical composition and the sources of particles. Particles have irregular shapes and their aerodynamic behaviour is expressed in terms of the diameter of an idealised sphere. The sampling and description of particles is based on this aerodynamic diameter, which is usually simply referred to as particle size . Particles having the same aerodynamic diameter may have different dimensions and shapes. Some airborne particles are over 10,000 times bigger than others in terms of aerodynamic diameter. Based on size, particulate matter is often divided into two main groups: o The coarse fraction contains the larger particles with a size ranging from 2.5 to 10 Вµm (PM10 PM2.5). o The fine fraction contains the smaller ones with a size up to 2.5 Вµm (PM2.5). The particles in the fine fraction which are smaller than 0.1 Вµm are called ultrafine particles. Most of the total mass of airborne particulate matter is usually made up of fine particles ranging from 0.1 to 2.5 Вµm.
