Technology can be our friend or our worst enemy. In Forbes The Stepford Wives and in Peele s
film, Get Out, both directors have a central idea of reconstructing our society for it to best suited
for us, as individuals. Unless you knew going in that both of these movies were in the genre of
Horror, you wouldn t be expecting it, more in The Stepford Wives than in Get Out. However the
interesting part about both of these works is that they both have an oddly similar theory behind
them, and it leads the viewer to believe that The Stepford Wives could have been an inspiration for
Get Out, unless you already knew that after hearing Peele s interview stating that it was. Both of the
works use technology and science in a way that by the end of both works the viewer is shocked, at
least I was.

For my observation, I went and visited Ivor Dent school, Ivor Dent is the new school that has
opened near Abbottsfield, Edmonton. The school was named after a man named Ivor Dent, he

certainly unlike any other vendor of goods you will find. Compared to your ordinary Ralph s,
Von s or Costco, Trader Joe s offers its customers, and its employees, a fully realized theme
environment, not unlike what one might find at a store designed by the Walt Disney Company.
As you enter the brightly lit space guests are overwhelmed with a very welcoming, island
atmosphere: flowers, Tiki carvings, hand painted signage, and some stores even have aisles with
thatched roof awnings supported by heavy wooden poles to ensure you get the idea. This theming
and design takes customers out of the real world and into an over seas adventure. While walking
around the store, selecting your rather common loaves of bread or chicken breasts, you get the
drawing impression that you are on a very uncommon tropical vacation. In our fast paced, modern
