Baby Driver Reflection
I was hesitant to watch Baby Driver, despite liking the trailers and talent involved, because I have yet
to see a full Edgar Wright film. I ve seen parts of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs.
the World. I liked what I saw, but I wasn t sure I wanted to have my introduction to Wright be his fifth
film. Well, my willpower broke and I m happier for it.
Baby Driver focuses on the eponymous Baby (Ansel Elgort), a getaway driver working for a crime
boss (the now disgraced Kevin Spacey). Things get more complicated when Baby meets Debora (Lilly
James), a waitress who steals his heart, and gets involved in a job with some volatile coconspirators.
Of the several joys of this film, not the least of them is acting. That starts with Elgort, who is
impressive as Baby. He makes him someone we instantly like, with his cool demeanor and infectious
enthusiasm for music. We root for him right away, and that holds when we learn more about him and
Elgort convincingly portrays those depths.
As much as I liked Elgort, I probably liked James work even more. She does a lot with little to work
with as Debora. Her character doesn t have much depth on the page, but James has a magnetic screen
presence. She nails each scene and makes you believe her character is a real person with many

The United States Postal Service has been very prominent in everyone s lives, even if most people don
t realize it. Although, over the years many of our needs have changed and email rose to the top as a
new way of sending mail, much of what the USPS had used to its advantage, such as the large amount
of mail that has been sent physically, has been slowly dissipating over the last decade or so. From
2008 to 2009, the mail volume dropped by 30 billion, which is a drastic change compared to the 4 or 5
billion fluctuation between previous years (Source B). As it is evident, the postal system has changed
with our growing need for faster forms of transportation of information subsided by email. The postal
system has been extremely affected by our advances in technology and it is time that we understand
that this process was inevitable, and the USPS needs to be restructured by doing Sunday delivery, and
strategically closing branches to save money and accommodate to the needs of a changing world .
The major point of competition for the USPS would have to be email, and in some cases, other postal

communication constant, whether mail was being sent from person to person, or even from the

planting more trees. The importance of forests in controlling global warming applies where the trees

the atmosphere. Carbon, which is a component of carbon dioxide, is stored in the trees and is
