Polonius Mad For Thy Love Analysis

Professor Christine Gottlieb/TA Lauren King
English 91b

Polonius theory of love assumes that Love can make someone mad
The feeling of love can make a person mad. Hamlet portrays Hamlet who seems mad for the love
he has for Ophelia. When Polonius is speaking to his daughter, he says about the madness that
Hamlet has for their love, Mad for thy love? (2.1.83). The words mad and love makes the syntactic
structure that Polonius makes for Hamlet. Love is the subject in Hamlet and Polonius seems to
depict a special kind of love through his daughter Ophelia, and Laertes. However, the words by
Polonius to the queen, the cause of this effect, / Or rather say, the cause of this defect (2.2.101 2),
are reflective of the phrase that claims about Hamlet s madness.
Love is an intense feeling that makes an individual to feel attracted to something or someone. The
claim that is laid by Polonius, Mad for thy love? (2.1.83) is a depiction of a feeling that has grown
so much intense that it has swayed Hamlets mind, he is not configuring anything in his thought
properly. The implication of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Originally, Hamlet acts crazy to make people that he was harmless although the main idea was to
probe the involvement of Claudius in his father s murder. Polonius says Though this be madness
yet there is a method in t (2.2.202 3). When the play progresses, Hamlet s traits becomes erratic
making him lose grip on reality since the situations to manage are emotionally difficult. Also,
Ophelia is truly insane which makes him lose the vestige of self knowledge and exposure. The
love for each other eventually end up with madness for both Hamlet and Ophelia. The author used
madness as the vehicle for advancing plot nicely to the direction needed to flow. Furthermore,
insanity is used to reveal the real traits of a character thus making the drama to be

IUPUI Women s Basketball Team
Team Dynamics Paper The IUPUI women s basketball team has improved greatly over the years.
While we are definitely a small division one school, we have certainly shined light upon our
name. IUPUI hasn t ever made it to the NCAA tournament, but my freshman year we made post
season play for the first time in school history. Since then we went on to make post season play
for another 2 years. My freshman year my team was very cliquey and we had very poor team
functioning skills. Our dysfunctions lingered into my sophomore year, and after a select few finally
graduated, we started seeing positive changes in team chemistry (my junior year). Unfortunately the
chemistry we had with each other was only indicative off of the court. We did not make post... Show

Though we want to keep the same culture with each team, we must be realistic. When the new
season arrives I truly do think that my team will revert back to the forming stage. When recruits
come to campus all of the players are nice to them because we have to be. Recruits are potential
future teammates and if they are on campus that means our coaches are interested in them. It is
then our job to sell our program to these recruits. In doing so, we only share positive things about
our school. Once these recruits sign the dotted line and join our team at IUPUI they learn for
themselves that we may have stretched the truth. For some, this is where they start to shy away.
Becoming a member of a new team can be hard. You have to meet over 10 people who all already
know each other, and you aren t quite sure of where you fit in. Can you see how a team can fall

Women Hollering Creek Summary
While reading the Women Hollering Creek I clearly see how patriarchy dominates the story.
Perfectly describing a social system where the male rules and distributes privileges, where men
are the head of the family and women are seen as property, subservient and not allowed to
exercise any control over their own lives, including marital and sexual control. Cleofila is from
Mexico, where she is raised with traditional values in her culture. She grew up in an environment
where she was easily influenced by the patriarch in her life, her father, and after she married she
continues to be treated as property, when Cleofila is being physically abused by her husband
Juan Pedro. Cleofila s life had always been ruled by the men in her life, and was never allowed to
make her owns decisions, or allowed to assume her own responsibilities in order to learn how to be
an independent woman. How many Cleofila s existed around the world and continue to exist,

DNA General Concepts
1. How does gel electrophoresis sort DNA fragments? Electrical charges (positive to negative and so
on). Also by size helps sort fragments as well. Small dna moves faster than larger ones do.
1. If each individual has such a small amount of DNA, how do the bands on the gel contain
enough DNA to be visible? By restriction enzymes then amplified by polymerase chain reaction to
make many to millions of copies of a single fragment.
1. Many genes only have a few possible alleles. For example, humans only have a few eye colors
and only four blood types. How can DNA tests definitively identify individuals when many men
have brown eyes or type A blood? The way this is done is by VNTR ( variable number tandem
repeats) the length varies from person to person and the base pairing also differs as well.

Part 3: Analyzing the Results
1. List the distances traveled (in mm) for the bands in the DNA Ladder in the table below.
Remember, smaller fragments travel farther than longer ones, so the top most band will be the
1,000 bp fragments while the bottom most band will be the 50 bp fragments.

Betrayal in Maus Essay
During World War II and the Holocaust, there was not only mistrust for the government but there
was also plenty of mistrust for prior friends and neighbors. In the graphic novel, Maus (Volume I
and II) Vladek Spiegelman makes it very clear to his son, Artie, that one cannot count on their
friends. He makes the point that in time of hardship, friends will abandon you quite quickly.
Vladek says, Friends? Your friends...if you lock them together in a room with no food for a
week...then you could see what it is, friends! (Maus, VI. 5 6). Throughout the novel, we see
examples of this gloomy point proven repeatedly. In the first volume of the novel, Haskel, a cousin
of the family and a chief of the Jewish police is guarding the ghetto that... Show more content on

The Spiegelman family and their comrades were trying to be compassionate and help someone
that they identified with, someone who, through a shared desperate situation (or so they
thought) they tried to befriend. Unfortunately, he was so quick to turn his back on the people
who had treated him so kindly. Yet again, it becomes evident that no one can be trusted when the
prisoners are being marched from the concentration camp due to the Nazis fear that the United
States and allies soon would discover their operation. The Jewish prisoners arrange a plan with
some of the German guards marching alongside them. The prisoners pay the guards with the
agreement that when they try to run the German soldiers will fire over their heads and not kill
them. When the time came to run, the prisoners break away from the pack and start towards the
woods, however, the same soldiers that promised not to shoot them shot them in the back as they
ran (Maus V II 82 83). The Germans that were supposed to be the friends of the Jews and help
them escape took their gold and did not hesitate to shoot them in the back as they ran. Fortunately,
for everyone s sake, not everyone was only out to save himself or herself. In contrast to the many
examples where betrayal was the norm there are several examples of friends who were genuine and
helped to make the situation better for someone even they could not make it better

Poseidon s Tragic Hero
It was a regular day in the Sea where Poseidon takes down furious enemies like no other. He is
very very far from Mount Olympus, but he doesn t care. There s is also the island of Crete and a
dark ominous island about 150 miles away from Mount Olympus. Poseidon is very strong and
sometimes very angry in some situations. Poseidon got in a fight with 12 huge sharks, but
Poseidon got too cocky and tried to fight them with his bare hands. It was no problem for him.
When Poseidon got back to Mount Olympus, he realized his Trident is disappeared. He looked
everywhere in his room for it, but it was gone. He quickly checked back at the ocean he fought in
but he couldn t find it, but he noticed there were more sharks at that spot. He left quickly to ask
his brother Zeus. Zeus have you seen my Trident, I lost it, he says No I have not. Maybe you

Pornography Abuse And Violence Against Women
There are obvious problems with society today regarding the presence of sexual violence and
rape. The cause of these crimes is difficult to isolate, as it is also difficult material for researchers
to complete studies on. We need a better definition of abuse, and it needs to be stated that the
intelligence and mental instability can affect a man s actions. There can be a place in relationships
for pornography as well, where women are consenting and desire to explore different material, not
necessarily being dehumanized. While Fight the New Drug and Samantha Grey, the author of, A
Letter to Men: Porn is Not Just Women s Problem, both present claims that pornography
consumption leads to violenceagainst women, and plea for society to reject pornography, there are
unanswered questions and overlooked aspects that leave their argument unconvincing. A guideline
of what defines abuse and violence needs to be established to properly examine pornography
material. The texts presented high percentages of violence existing in the pornography films that
were used to formulate data. However, there are no specifics regarding what violence is. Did the
standards include elements of dirty talk, kink, spanking, or BDSM? Fight the New Drug states that

Confucius And Confucianism
Confucius s philosophical teachings about government and society discussed in the Analects
revolve around morality and how a ruler and his people should act in order to stabilize society.
Confucius looked to the past to discuss the problems of the present by modeling his teachings from
the former Zhou empire. Confuciussought to bring back the Zhou traditions in order to better
society. By linking moral behaviors to social roles and hierarchies, he emphasized that the
stability of the government and society was directly correlated to the relationship between the
ruler and the people. With the title Son of Heaven, the ruler was expected to act morally towards
his subjects and treat them with love and concern ( Introduction to Confucian Thought , 2009).
This idea is directly related to the concept of ren, which discusses the well being of others as the
moral drive of society. He extended this idea into social harmony, being first and foremost
embedded in the family. Confucius believed that the virtue of filial piety was the foundation for not
just family life but also had implication for the ruler subject bond ( Mencius and his development of
Confucian teachings , n.d.). Similarly, Mencius centered his teachings on this idea by stressing that
the well being of the family directly corresponded to the well being of the state. Most importantly
however, Confucius also discussed the importance of the ruler ruling over the people with virtue,
which was achieved through ritual

where they will discover a spot to stay, nourishment to eat and use nearby administrations like

The Debate On Marriage And Parenting Rights For Gay And
The debate on marriage and parenting rights for gay and lesbian individuals has been one of the
most hotly contested social issues in recent history. While many arguments are cited to prevent gay
couples from enjoying equality, these arguments ultimately condense to concerns rooted in
homophobia. Opponents of the LGBT community contend that same sex parenting contradicts the
natural order of the world, subjects children to unnecessary societal stigma, and that the state has a
right to favor heterosexual norms. However, these concerns are either unfounded or unjustly
infringe on the rights of gay and lesbian couples. Consequently, there is no reason to prohibit gay or

Therefore, it is unjust to use the same argument to prevent gay couples from adopting. Skeptics of
gay and lesbian parents also raise the concern that the children of same sex couples would be
subject to stigma from society. They argue that gay parents should not be granted custody rights
because their children would be subject to unnecessary ridicule by their peers. In short, their
position is that children should not be placed into harsh conditions simply due to their parents
sexual behavior. While the well being of the child is an important concern in custody matters,
stigma that exists within society must not be written into law. Bigotry is an unfortunate component
of human nature, and it will likely never be erased completely. The law cannot control these
biases, but it should not be influenced by the fleeting passions of the time. If the law gives biases
that exist within society legitimacy, they will merely be reinforced for generations. Furthermore, a
primary purpose of law is to serve as a guardian of the minority rights. Basic rights must be
enshrined in law so that they are insulated from tyrannical majorities that might act with malice
toward a minority group. Preventing gay couples from adopting because society holds a bias against
them unjustly sacrifices a crucial liberty for homosexuals. The Supreme Court has ruled that racial
stigma cannot have an influence

Not only do the major leagues participate in the marketing process but so do the smaller, minor
leagues do as well. Every athletic organization, big or small, needs sports marketing for its
survival. Sports marketing is needed because it helps the athletic organizations obtain profit,
which is needed for survival. For a promotion to be successful, it must be profitable. And to be
profitable, it must enhance some, if not all, of the following goals: 1. Paid attendance, 2.
Corporate tie ins, 3. Sponsor value, and 4. Media coverage (Helitzer 317). Promotions must
increase the number of people at the event, or paid attendance, it also must enhance corporate tie
ins, which are signs or give a ways at the stadium. Sponsor value, or the value perceived by the
sponsor must also be enhanced along with media coverage. Media coverage is enhanced by sending
the local or national media sources bulletins about the events or by having press conferences. A
strategy that a sports marketer must use is to stagger the promotional gimmicks throughout the
event. If one staggers the promotion, then the audience is always aware of the event and looking
out for the promotions.
Another objective of sports marketing is creating sales. The modern sports marketer is charged with
one simple responsibility: to increase the sources of revenue (Westerbeek 6). This includes

A Separate Peace Rhetorical Analysis
Paul uses many tactics throughout his imprisonment in order to keep some control over his and
Annie s alliance. One effective method he uses is flattery, complimenting Annie in order to keep
her happy and her mood stable. His use of this move is demonstrated on page 60 in the novel,
when he calls Annie his favorite nurse. He uses it again on page 107, telling Annie that she could
not be old enough to remember the chapter plays, hinting at how she looks way younger than she
actually is. Paul uses this strategy to lighten Annie s mood and keep her happy, which is vital to
him because Annie can become very destructive and impatient when angry, consequently being the
main source of Paul s pain throughout the book. In addition to flattery, Paul

Nuclear Power in Australia’s Energy Future Essays
Since its discovery in the late 19th century, nuclear energy has been used in a diversity of areas
such as atomic bombs, medicine, reducing pollution and food irradiation (Gupta, 2012).
However, one of the biggest outcomes since this discovery is nuclear energy generation. This
subject is largely controversial as it has many pros and cons. It is considered to be a more eco
friendly alternative source of electricity, as it emits less carbon emissions than coalfired power
stations, for example. Yet there still an environmental risk provided by the radio active waste and
its inability to be disposed of for 100,000 years (Phillips, 2012). Today in Australia there are no
active nuclear powerplants but that is predicted to change in the... Show more content on

Professor Per Peterson from the Department of Nuclear Engineering says, It s difficult for me to
see how we can transition away from fossil fuels and not use significant amounts of nuclear
energy (Phillips, 2012). Many argue that renewable sources of energy such as solar and wind
should be implemented instead of nuclear energy as they too produce no air pollution.
However, modern society requires a reliable base load of electricity which renewables are not
equipped to provide. In Australia there are limited sources that could potentially supply a
suitable base load . They include coal and gas (which produce CO2 emissions) geothermal,
hydro (which is limited due to the lack of water), developing technology and nuclear energy
(Krieg, 2014). Renewable sources of energy also prove to be a problem as they are too fickle to
provide base load power to a nation, as they depend on intermittent things such as weather and
seasons, whereas nuclear power is available constantly whilst being a cleaner source of power.
An example of the environmental success nuclear energy has provided is France in the 1970s
and 1980s. The country switched from using fossil fuels and instead used nuclear energy to
supply 78% of its electricity (see figure 3). This in turn lowered the country s greenhouse
emissions by approximately 2% each year since. No accidents have ever occurred at any of France
s power plants (Biello, 2013).

Qantas Marketing Audit Essay
Qantas is the world s second oldest airline, having been founded in the Australian outback in 1920.
It is Australia s largest domestic and international airline. The name comes from the initial letters of
the words in the original registered title Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited.
The Qantas Group employs approximately 32,500 people and operates a fleet of over 250 aircraft,
comprising Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier aircraft from full size long haul aircraft to smaller
short haul aircraft. The Group offers services across a network spanning 182 destinations in 44

Reflecting this, the need to cut costs is a central tenant of the Group s strategy for Qantas.
According to the airline, the cost base is around 20 per cent higher than key competitors.3 It simply
does not have the low cost structure of many of the competitors, especially the Asian competitors.
Neither does Qantas have the well positioned hubs of the competitor Asian and Middle Eastern
carriers. Accordingly Qantas is having to undertake its marketing in an environment where
competitors, such as Emirates, Etihad, and Singapore Airlines
(with great hubs) are tackling them head on. Given the above, a large number of Qantas routes,
primarily to Asia and Europe, are loss making.4
In contrast, a central tenant of the JetStar strategy is to grow the brand in Asian markets through
standalone operations, joint ventures and strategic alliances, as much as possible and as rapidly as
possible. Jetstar is one of the world s fastest growing and most profitable low fares airlines, set for
significant future growth.5
Management perceives that part of the solution for the Qantas division of the international business
is offshore maintenance of aircraft, employment of overseas flight

Managing Challenging Behaviors Within Classroom Management
Managing challenging behaviours in our classroom continues to be as one of the most challenging
problems in education today. Conte (1994, p.308) mentioned, If teachers, administrators, parents,
and students acknowledge that the lack of discipline is a serious concern and interferes with the
teaching learning process, one would think that steps would be taken to remedy the problem. Today
s classrooms are more complicated than in the past. Discipline is now known as classroom
behaviour management where new dimensions to classroom managementare used with the
inclusion, bilingual classes, and students with disabilities.
Classroom management is necessary to maintain the positive behaviours and attitudes. A well
managed classroom can provide an amazing learning experience for all the involved students as
their behaviour can always affect this process. Classroom discipline plays a large part in today s
educational system. Many teachers feel powerless when dealing with discipline problems in their
classrooms. Canter (1997) discussed, in the past, only a look from a teacher to the students was
enough to manage and control the classroom. Then, because of the social and political eruptions of
the late 60s and early 70s, the respect to any authority was dramatically declined. Therefore, it is
important to find a behaviour management approach that is suitable to the students of this
generation.
My Philosophy as mentioned in part 1 is influenced by various behaviours theories.

Why Soccer Is Important To Me
The reason soccer is important to me is because it is the hobby i joined to win. So when I m bored
I would go outside and play soccer and call my brother to play. I really like soccer, so I spent a lot
of time playing it outside on the yard. When I play soccer I fell like I m so happy and I get excited
when I get some goals. When I got the first goal, I got so excited I couldn t believe it, and I just
had a smile all day. While I was looking up videos of soccer, I figured out that the soccer players
win a lot of money. So if I become a soccer player I could win a lot of money and at the same time I
could have fun with my favorite hobby. Now that I always playsoccer when I get goals in I still get
excited and it will help our team with points.

between perinatally and non perinatally infected youth. Our secondary objective is to explore the
association of demographic and other patient characteristics with interest and attitude towards the
parenteral long acting antiretroviral drug.
This is the first effort to evaluate the attitudes of youth (13 24 years) towards the promising new
technology of parenteral antiretroviral. These data will help to develop strategies for maximizing
adherence to those high risk youths who are particularly likely to be benefitted from them.
Ultimately, the results of these findings will provide the pediatric and adolescent patient
perspective in the decision making surrounding the development and deployment of parenteral nano

Copper Life Cycle Essay
Copper is a metal that has been used by humans essentially since the beginning of existence as it
is said to be only the second metal used by man after gold. Therefore, copper production has been
an important part of life for thousands or years and still is today. The copper cycle is an important
because it provides a basis for how coppercan be recovered from various compounds that it exists
in during its so called life cycle . The life cycle of copper conserves this now scarce metal by
allowing the recovery of the pure substance at any point through experimental means. While copper

Reaction one was an exothermic reaction. This was determined simply because when nitric acid
was mixed with the copper wire a significant amount of heat was given off to the surroundings,
therefore the reaction had to be exothermic. Reaction two was exothermic as well. This was
determined because precipitation reactions are always exothermic as the formation of a solid is a
decrease in entropy so delta S is negative which means that enthalpy would be negative, therefore it
is an exothermic reaction. Reaction three is an endothermic reaction. This was determined simply
because a decomposition reaction is carried out through the addition of energy, usually heat to break
down a compound, therefore the addition of heat to carry out to the reaction means it has to be
endothermic. Reaction four was exothermic. This was determined because it was an acid base
neutralization reaction. Acid base neutralization reactions are always exothermic as they release
heat from the system to the surroundings. Reaction five was endothermic. This was determined
because the reaction sped up when heated. The reduction of Copper Sulfate to Copper occurred at
room temperate when Hydrochloric Acid and Aluminum were combined. However, when the
beaker was put on a hot plate the reaction occurred noticeably faster therefore indicating that it

Outcome 1 Understand own responsibilities, and the responsibilities of others, relating to health
and safety
1. Identify legislation relating to health and safety in a health or social care work setting.
There are a number of different legislations to follow relating to health and safety in health or social
care setting, such as:
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
COSHH The control of substances hazardous to health
RIDDOR Used to report incidents, accidents and injuries at work
The above legislation is used to form the basis of Look Ahead s Health and Safety Manual, which

Health and safety can also be enforced through health and safety law so visitors and others are
responsible to adhere to this.
It is important to recognise the different responsibilities and approaches of a member of staff, the
employer and others in the work setting. For example the employer is responsible to provide
PPE and relevant health and safety training free of charge. It is then the responsibility of a staff
member to use the PPE and to attend the training. So although the responsibilities are different
they are also related and both need to work in order to ensure a high standard of health and safety.
The employer provides as safe working environment, however if an accident or incident occurs it
requires the efforts of both staff and sometimes others to report this to ensure measures are put into
place to reduce any risk associated with the incident or accident. Another example of how health
and safety has a linked responsibility can be shown through a member of staff ensuring they provide
the relevant fire safety information/instructions to others. It is then the responsibility for others to
follow these instructions.
This outcome is fully evidenced by an appropriate answer to the question above.
4. Identify specific tasks in the work setting that should not be carried out without special training.

My Music Concert
Today, I went to the symphony for the first time. Not much of a thrilling opener, huh? What if I
elaborated to say the closest I have ever gotten to a symphony was a grade four band concert, in
which my little brother played the saxophone (he quit the following year.) Maybe I could
compare this experience to all the DIY rock shows I attended back home in basements/back
rooms where the sounds could be loud enough to deafen people standing outside and the heat
could bring almost anyone to immediate sickness, but that seems a little crude. The bottom line
is, I have never been fortunate enough to encounter the amount or complexity of instruments as
I did at Willson Auditorium. Before continuing, I would like to express sincere gratitude toward
requiring, and thus allowing, me to attend this fantastic concert. I believe that I not only enjoyed
a wonderful performance but also appreciated music with knowledge and context. It is because
of said knowledge and context that the music sounded lifelike, and the connections between
instruments and literary ideas were formed for the first time. Upon arrival to the seats I was
surprised by the vastness of the venue, and the proximity of my seat to the stage (the row
directly ahead of me was front row.) When the musicians took stage, I was slightly disappointed
at my inability to see everyone, however, my view of the double basses was intriguing as I had not
realized how large they actually are (I had never seen one in real life prior.)

Cultural Anthropology

Kinship is the cornerstone for how people within a society relate to others and race lineages. Many
societies trace their lineage through the father, which is called patrilineal, or through the mother
which is called matrilineal. The Iroquois nation traced their kinship through the matrilineal decent
lines. Kinship directly relates to how family groups think, act and live along side each other. The
culture of the Iroquois can also be compared to how many American families relate to one another
as well.

Often times there are couples that get married but have chosen not to stay with one another because
of a difference in opinion, this is called divorce.
Iroquois and divorce Often time s couples marry only to find out that they have a difference of
opinion or one spouse has caused serious marital strain on the other. Since the Iroquois couples
lived matrilineally, this makes it easier for the woman to dissolve the marriage, keep her children
and continue to live at home with her family. If a woman no longer desired to be married to her
husband, all she had to do was pack up her husband s belongings and leave them on the steps of
the longhouse. When he came home, the husband would find them, realize his wife had terminated
the marriage, and return to his home village and his own patrilineage. (Nowak, B. amp; Laird, P.
2010 chapter 4.5 Divorce) In the American culture it is more difficult to obtain a divorce.
Americans and divorce Americans divorce for the same reasons the Iroquois divorced for
however, in the American culture it is harder to divorce. Many times couples divorce because of
infidelity of one or both of the spouses, or from irreconcilable differences. In order to obtain a
divorce in America many states require the couple to attend counseling to see if they can fix their
marriage. Sometimes this is successful and the couple will stay together and often times it is not
possible for the couple to stay together so they will then obtain a divorce

Today s political landscape is more polarized than ever before. The age old tradition of
compromise and reaching across the aisle seems to be more and more unlikely. Nonetheless, there
has been no issue more polarizing than healthcare. It is a policy that has traditionally created a rift
between the Republican and Democratic parties since its inception in the 1960s. With a majority in
both Houses of Congress, the Republicans look to overturn Obamacare as their first priority.

Price recommends that individuals currently covered by a government provided health program
should contribute to their insurance plans through health savings accounts. Proponents of this
policy argue that it will hold consumers to be more responsible when seeking healthcare services.
Opponents argue that while it might decrease the growth of health care costs, it will worsen health
care outcomes.
4. Tax credits and subsidies will be reduced.
Currently, individuals whose incomes range from 100% to 400% of the federal poverty level,
receive subsidies to help them pay for their insurance packages. Under the EPFA, tax credits will
be linked to age rather than income. In addition, these tax credits are comparatively modest,
ranging from $1200 for those aged 18 30 to $3000 for those above age 50. In an age of rising
premiums, these tax credits would do little to cover the baseline costs for many insurance packages,
especially in rural regions in the country where only one option is available in the online insurance
marketplace.
5. Repeal expanded Medicaid coverage. Currently, Medicaid expansion has been implemented to
cover individuals up to 138% of the federal poverty level. It fills in the coverage gap between
individuals whose income is too high to qualify them for Medicaid but too low to purchase a
healthcare plan on the exchange market. This policy has provided health insurance to millions more
of Americans, created jobs

Assassin Counter Culture
The bi racial rap group Assassin can relate specifically to traditional American Rap fans in

sounds to rappers alike the Notorious B.I.G, N.W.A (N*gga s With Attitude), Dr Dre, Tupac

repetitive in order to create a sustained beat allowing listeners to focus on their lyrics whether
they were part of a political statement or spoke about minorities or violence. This was through
the technique of scratching vinyls, creating a repetitive beat, firstly experimented by

Flipping The Standards Of The Classroom
Flipping The Standards The human mind is constantly learning and absorbing knowledge from
different experiences throughout life. People understand and learn in different ways and paces,
including education because there is a variety of ways students can interpret what is being taught.
The flipped classroom is one of the ways students can get information differently from what they
experience in a modern day classroom. The flipped classroom allows the teacher to give their
lessons to the students at home through the computer and the students can do their homework in

While vastly different to traditional schooling, the flipped classroom is an innovation that benefit

may have about the information they received at home (Schmidt). The students have more time to
analyze that data and get their own interpretation of the information thus giving a better

the improved interaction between student and teacher. In the typical classroom, students

The demand for indigo cake increased as many wanted to use the cake for various purposes, such
as using it as a blue dye for their painting. However, the supply of indigo cake was decreasing due
to the hard production method, resulting a fluctuation in its price. But, a German chemist, Johann
Friedrich Willhelm Adolf von Baeyer, developed a cheaper alternative method by making synthetic
indigo. He started working with indigo in 1865. His work resulted in the first chemical synthesis of
indigo, in 1880. And then, three years later, he announced the chemical structure of synthetic
indigo. He then sold this invention to BASF (Badische Anilin und Soda Fabrik), an international
chemical company, for $100,000. Synthetic indigo, by 1913, had almost completely replaced
natural indigo, and by 2002, 17000 tons of synthetic indigo were produced worldwide.

determining ways men and women should behave. Advertisements for real estate were designed to
sell to the All American family. For example; Dad would be the returned home veteran who is now
running the company, Mom is an ideal housewife who works a couple days a week for extra
vacation cash, little Billy likes baseball and his sister Susie plays with dolls. Houses designed with

A perfect home for a perfect All American family. Another attractive feature that Green Acres was
able to offer were low cost loans that were only available to veterans and their families. This
neighborhood was designed as a community for middle class families, who could live a solid,
humble, happy life around other families that wanted the same. It was affordable for the average
American family to purchase a home in this subdivision. Automobile manufacturers during this
time also used the same campaign as many advertisers did. They put phrases like coming home
and it s going to be all right in their ads to lure veterans coming home. Some companies played on
the fact that they were creating jobs for Americans. Therefore the automobile makers were keeping
America s economy strong and prosperous. By purchasing your vehicle through a company that
provides Americans with jobs and opportunities, you were doing your part to keep America s
economy going strong. The advertising was designed to put a sense of patriotism in veterans
returning home as well as the average consumer.
Women who worked during the fifties might have found it difficult looking for a job outside of
being a secretary or receptionist. Women in the workplace were not taken seriously and were
usually delivered the unimportant, meaningless jobs with little room for advancement. With titles
like office girl, and sales girl women were at the

Betsy Ross Speech
Even though Betsy Ross is best known for creating and sewing the American flag, this has never
been officially proven. However, there is a great amount of evidence that she was very
influential in the making of the flag. These words by her say it all, Our hearts aching, our
prayers praying, our flags waving, never forget. 1 Elizabeth Griscom, also known as Betsy Ross
was born on January 1, 1752 in Philadelphia to her loving parents Rebecca and Samuel Griscom.
She was the eighth child out of seventeen.2 The same year she was born was the year the Liberty
Bell arrived in Philadelphia. Her father had the honor to assist in building the tower that
surrounded the bell where it was placed. Her parents were part of the Quaker religion, also
known as the Society of Friends, which left Betsy living differently than the colonist. With the
determined Quaker religion, she was not allowed to attend plays or read storybooks because it
promoted a world of fantasy rather than the story of the Bible. The Quakers also forbid music
within their culture because it provided no movement to the people and developed corrupt
thoughts within an individual.3 During this time period many families were fairly large, but a
majority of the children often died from diseases at a very young age. In Betsy s family only nine
of the children survived to be adults. Every Sunday and Thursday the Quakers would attend a
church service that lasted two hours long. The men and women sat facing each other, while

You can most of the time withdraw your winnings back to the Visa account, however, that depends
on a particular casino.
Disadvantages of using a Visa card
The main disadvantage of using a Visa card is that the casinos charge an extra fee anywhere
between 2 3%, most often 2,5% on top of your deposit. In some of the casinos after exceeding the
amount of the fee is not charged.
Most online casinos have set the minimum limit and the maximum amount of deposit with the Visa
Card Visa. This is usually a minimum of ВЈ10 and a maximum of ВЈ5,000.
Another drawback of using a credit card is that some players can easily lose control over how much
money you spend, so be sure to exercise self control and keep you playing habits in check.
Saying that, it is still one of the best payment methods out there, so if you wish to use your Visa
Card, just head over to one of the recommended casino below, deposit, receive your welcomed
bonus and enjoy the games. Good

Character Analysis Of Mercy
In A Mercy, readers are able to see several phases of changes each individual characters go through
throughout the book. Lina, she goes through the phase where her experience changes her thinking.
Jacob, he changes by community, the surrounding environment he is surrounded by. Florens, the
main character of this book especially go through this phase several times. Readers see how her
experiences, family, race, and classalter her which is similar to how American s identity is being
determined today. First, readers see, from the overall experiences Florens has throughout the book,
how her identity is determined which is similar to how American s identity is determined today.
For instance, on the very beginning of A Mercy, Morrison references something strange thing that
is somewhat out of her context. Florens says, As a result, Lina says, my feet are useless... (4). The
quote illustrates that how Florens knows her identity or her feature that she has about her that her
feet are useless. The quote also claims about how Floren s identity is or what Florens though about
her identity is which can be used to compare how Florens have changed throughout her experience.
Another examples is shown when in the end of the book Florens shows how she has changed
through her experience that refers back to the the experience she had with her mother, Minha Mae.
She says, ...Mae, you can have pleasure now because the soles of my feet are hard as cypress
(189). What Florens says demonstrates

Feminist Inequality
Considered superiority to be tendered man accustomed by women to respect men. Whether at
home or any work environment. There is no equality between genders, even men who identify as
gay may not have the same privileges. And as a feminist, all I seek is for equality. The effort the
feminists strive for equality inspired me to seek equality, because a femaledeserves to be valued
just as a male. The understanding of inequality is from the friendship of females I am a part of.
My female friends have more masculine traits compared to me and I appreciate their strong traits,
but females should be treated with respect and carry the same value, not degraded for being a
woman. Women are just as capable as men, but are not recognized. My friends are... Show more

Just because one has an entitlement of being a man, does not give the right to be above women.
Females are taken advantage of sexually, verbally, and consciously. It is wrong and should be
handled. Being a man will give me an advantage positively. How women are treated and
degraded is not acceptable to me. Females have amazing mind and great ideas, but are always
brushed off and if a man steals a woman s idea it is acknowledged and appreciated. I am a
feminist to tell with a man s advantage and spread equality. It is seen through many roles that
there will be a greater male representative compared to a female in any entitlement which should
progress. In conclusion, I am a feminist because I am a man. My word will be valued more, but
brings sight to gender inequality. Being a feminist, is to progress inequality within homes and
community and not entitle gender to compare which is more superior, but rather the

Implementation Of A Transitional Care Program Evaluation
For a transitional care program evaluation, it is requisite to combine two separate theories to aid in
addressing the problem of poor transitional care outcomes, the process of measuring outcomes, and
the creation of recommendations for improvement. A middle range nursing theory, Transitions
theory centers on the process of individuals transitions and addresses the barriers to and principles
of successful transitional outcomes (Meleis, 2010). The theory is both descriptive and predictive, it
can be used to further describe and define the problem of poor transitions and its barriers as well as
identify outcomes that signal successful interventions in individuals (Meleis, Sawyer, Im, Messias,
Schumacher, 2000). The indicators of successful interventions as defined by Transitions Theory can
guide the selection of the types of outcomes to be measured by the program evaluation to ensure
that outcomes that reflect transitional success are selected. Furthermore, the principles of healthy
transitions identified by Transitions Theory will aid in the creation of recommendations for
program improvement. Continuous quality improvement (CQI) will be joined with Transitions
Theory in the program evaluation. Although originally developed by business managers, CQI is
best known for its use in manufacturing settings, specifically in the automotive industry (Radawski,
1999). CQI was created with customers (patients) as the center of its philosophy; consequentially,

Short Term Memory Research
A central part of intellectual processing is the quantity limit in working memory (WM), also called
short term memory that is, intensive access to a definite amount of data recently activated through
long term memory (LTM) recovery. Different theorists have recommended that there is limit to
what number of psychologically coherent units can be recalled at once. Miller (1956) as cited in
(Cowan et al., 2012) recommended that what is now termed working memorywas express to a
particular number of meaningful units. According to the Miller work, researchers studying on
verbal memory recommended the capacity of working memorycan determined through the number
if things practise in limited time. Other studies demonstrated that there was benefits... Show more

The working capacity cause performance of an individual in simple circumstances helps to
eliminate complex factors. The degree to which LTM contribute to quick memory shows up to
rely on upon the measure. Moreover, Chen and Cowan (2009a) were unable to discover the long
term memory contribution in remembering a list upto 12 things shaping up to six chunks. In
contrast, Chen and Cowan succeed how well a WM limit model may hold up under articulatory
concealment with a few key varieties. The difference has been found in the literature of working
memory capacity through visual and verbal material. On one hand, more work is done towards
hypothetical records of the remembering of basis items within visual arrays with the function of
models in which items are used to fill various spaces of working memory. A little research has
inspected working memory capacity for verbal things in recall methods. In this study, main attention
has been given to the outcome that verbal things can be combined psychologically to shape bigger
chunk of data. To find capacity limits, one should likewise have the capacity to identify the chunks.
In the verbal area, utilizing recall strategies, the capacity limit idea has been lengthened to materials
in which an arrangement of differently presented words frequently can make up a single chunk and
in which the chunk size has been evaluated and varied. Our

Polonius Mad For Thy Love Analysis Sohee Mun Professor Christine Gottlieb/TA Lauren King English 91b 8 Feb 2018 Polonius theory of love assumes that Love can make someone mad The feeling of love can make a person mad. Hamlet portrays Hamlet who seems mad for the love he has for Ophelia. When Polonius is speaking to his daughter, he says about the madness that Hamlet has for their love, Mad for thy love? (2.1.83). The words mad and love makes the syntactic structure that Polonius makes for Hamlet. Love is the subject in Hamlet and Polonius seems to depict a special kind of love through his daughter Ophelia, and Laertes. However, the words by Polonius to the queen, the cause of this effect, / Or rather say, the cause of this defect (2.2.101 2), are reflective of the phrase that claims about Hamlet s madness. Love is an intense feeling that makes an individual to feel attracted to something or someone. The claim that is laid by Polonius, Mad for thy love? In the graphic novel, Maus (Volume I and II) Vladek Spiegelman makes it very clear to his son, Artie, that one cannot count on their friends. He makes the point that in time of hardship, friends will abandon you quite quickly. Vladek says, Friends? Your friends...if you lock them together in a room with no food for a week...then you could see what it is, friends! (Maus, VI. 5 6). Yet again, it becomes evident that no one can be trusted when the prisoners are being marched from the concentration camp due to the Nazis fear that the United States and allies soon would discover their operation. The Jewish prisoners arrange a plan with some of the German guards marching alongside them. The prisoners pay the guards with the agreement that when they try to run the German soldiers will fire over their heads and not kill them. When the time came to run, the prisoners break away from the pack and start towards the woods, however, the same soldiers that promised not to shoot them shot them in the back as they ran (Maus V II 82 83). The Germans that were supposed to be the friends of the Jews and help them escape took their gold and did not hesitate to shoot them in the back as they ran. • 11. Confucius And Confucianism Confucius s philosophical teachings about government and society discussed in the Analects revolve around morality and how a ruler and his people should act in order to stabilize society. Confucius looked to the past to discuss the problems of the present by modeling his teachings from the former Zhou empire. Confuciussought to bring back the Zhou traditions in order to better society. By linking moral behaviors to social roles and hierarchies, he emphasized that the stability of the government and society was directly correlated to the relationship between the ruler and the people. With the title Son of Heaven, the ruler was expected to act morally towards his subjects and treat them with love and concern ( Introduction to Confucian Thought , 2009). This idea is directly related to the concept of ren, which discusses the well being of others as the moral drive of society. He extended this idea into social harmony, being first and foremost embedded in the family. Confucius believed that the virtue of filial piety was the foundation for not just family life but also had implication for the ruler subject bond ( Mencius and his development of Confucian teachings , n.d.). Similarly, Mencius centered his teachings on this idea by stressing that the well being of the family directly corresponded to the well being of the state. It is considered to be a more eco friendly alternative source of electricity, as it emits less carbon emissions than coalfired power stations, for example. Professor Per Peterson from the Department of Nuclear Engineering says, It s difficult for me to see how we can transition away from fossil fuels and not use significant amounts of nuclear energy (Phillips, 2012). Many argue that renewable sources of energy such as solar and wind should be implemented instead of nuclear energy as they too produce no air pollution. However, modern society requires a reliable base load of electricity which renewables are not equipped to provide. In Australia there are limited sources that could potentially supply a suitable base load . They include coal and gas (which produce CO2 emissions) geothermal, hydro (which is limited due to the lack of water), developing technology and nuclear energy (Krieg, 2014). Renewable sources of energy also prove to be a problem as they are too fickle to provide base load power to a nation, as they depend on intermittent things such as weather and seasons, whereas nuclear power is available constantly whilst being a cleaner source of power. An example of the environmental success nuclear energy has provided is France in the 1970s and 1980s. The country switched from using fossil fuels and instead used nuclear energy to supply 78% of its electricity (see figure 3). The name comes from the initial letters of the words in the original registered title Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited. The Qantas Group employs approximately 32,500 people and operates a fleet of over 250 aircraft, comprising Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier aircraft from full size long haul aircraft to smaller short haul aircraft. Reflecting this, the need to cut costs is a central tenant of the Group s strategy for Qantas. According to the airline, the cost base is around 20 per cent higher than key competitors.3 It simply does not have the low cost structure of many of the competitors, especially the Asian competitors. Neither does Qantas have the well positioned hubs of the competitor Asian and Middle Eastern carriers. Accordingly Qantas is having to undertake its marketing in an environment where competitors, such as Emirates, Etihad, and Singapore Airlines (with great hubs) are tackling them head on. Given the above, a large number of Qantas routes, primarily to Asia and Europe, are loss making.4 In contrast, a central tenant of the JetStar strategy is to grow the brand in Asian markets through standalone operations, joint ventures and strategic alliances, as much as possible and as rapidly as possible. • 27. Managing Challenging Behaviors Within Classroom Management Managing challenging behaviours in our classroom continues to be as one of the most challenging problems in education today. Conte (1994, p.308) mentioned, If teachers, administrators, parents, and students acknowledge that the lack of discipline is a serious concern and interferes with the teaching learning process, one would think that steps would be taken to remedy the problem. Today s classrooms are more complicated than in the past. Discipline is now known as classroom behaviour management where new dimensions to classroom managementare used with the inclusion, bilingual classes, and students with disabilities. Classroom management is necessary to maintain the positive behaviours and attitudes. A well managed classroom can provide an amazing learning experience for all the involved students as their behaviour can always affect this process. Classroom discipline plays a large part in today s educational system. Many teachers feel powerless when dealing with discipline problems in their classrooms. Canter (1997) discussed, in the past, only a look from a teacher to the students was enough to manage and control the classroom. Then, because of the social and political eruptions of the late 60s and early 70s, the respect to any authority was dramatically declined. Therefore, it is important to find a behaviour management approach that is suitable to the students of this generation. My Philosophy as mentioned in part 1 is influenced by various behaviours theories. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was determined simply because when nitric acid was mixed with the copper wire a significant amount of heat was given off to the surroundings, therefore the reaction had to be exothermic. Reaction two was exothermic as well. This was determined because precipitation reactions are always exothermic as the formation of a solid is a decrease in entropy so delta S is negative which means that enthalpy would be negative, therefore it is an exothermic reaction. Reaction three is an endothermic reaction. This was determined simply because a decomposition reaction is carried out through the addition of energy, usually heat to break down a compound, therefore the addition of heat to carry out to the reaction means it has to be endothermic. Reaction four was exothermic. This was determined because it was an acid base neutralization reaction. Acid base neutralization reactions are always exothermic as they release heat from the system to the surroundings. Reaction five was endothermic. What if I elaborated to say the closest I have ever gotten to a symphony was a grade four band concert, in which my little brother played the saxophone (he quit the following year.) Maybe I could compare this experience to all the DIY rock shows I attended back home in basements/back rooms where the sounds could be loud enough to deafen people standing outside and the heat could bring almost anyone to immediate sickness, but that seems a little crude. The bottom line is, I have never been fortunate enough to encounter the amount or complexity of instruments as I did at Willson Auditorium. Before continuing, I would like to express sincere gratitude toward requiring, and thus allowing, me to attend this fantastic concert. I believe that I not only enjoyed a wonderful performance but also appreciated music with knowledge and context. It is because of said knowledge and context that the music sounded lifelike, and the connections between instruments and literary ideas were formed for the first time. Upon arrival to the seats I was surprised by the vastness of the venue, and the proximity of my seat to the stage (the row directly ahead of me was front row.) Iroquois and divorce Often time s couples marry only to find out that they have a difference of opinion or one spouse has caused serious marital strain on the other. Since the Iroquois couples lived matrilineally, this makes it easier for the woman to dissolve the marriage, keep her children and continue to live at home with her family. If a woman no longer desired to be married to her husband, all she had to do was pack up her husband s belongings and leave them on the steps of the longhouse. When he came home, the husband would find them, realize his wife had terminated the marriage, and return to his home village and his own patrilineage. Currently, individuals whose incomes range from 100% to 400% of the federal poverty level, receive subsidies to help them pay for their insurance packages. • 46. Feminist Inequality Considered superiority to be tendered man accustomed by women to respect men. Whether at home or any work environment. There is no equality between genders, even men who identify as gay may not have the same privileges. And as a feminist, all I seek is for equality. The effort the feminists strive for equality inspired me to seek equality, because a femaledeserves to be valued just as a male. The understanding of inequality is from the friendship of females I am a part of. My female friends have more masculine traits compared to me and I appreciate their strong traits, but females should be treated with respect and carry the same value, not degraded for being a woman. Women are just as capable as men, but are not recognized. My friends are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just because one has an entitlement of being a man, does not give the right to be above women. Females are taken advantage of sexually, verbally, and consciously. It is wrong and should be handled. Being a man will give me an advantage positively. How women are treated and degraded is not acceptable to me. Females have amazing mind and great ideas, but are always brushed off and if a man steals a woman s idea it is acknowledged and appreciated. I am a feminist to tell with a man s advantage and spread equality. It is seen through many roles that there will be a greater male representative compared to a female in any entitlement which should progress. In conclusion, I am a feminist because I am a man. • 47. Implementation Of A Transitional Care Program Evaluation For a transitional care program evaluation, it is requisite to combine two separate theories to aid in addressing the problem of poor transitional care outcomes, the process of measuring outcomes, and the creation of recommendations for improvement. A middle range nursing theory, Transitions theory centers on the process of individuals transitions and addresses the barriers to and principles of successful transitional outcomes (Meleis, 2010). The theory is both descriptive and predictive, it can be used to further describe and define the problem of poor transitions and its barriers as well as identify outcomes that signal successful interventions in individuals (Meleis, Sawyer, Im, Messias, Schumacher, 2000). The indicators of successful interventions as defined by Transitions Theory can guide the selection of the types of outcomes to be measured by the program evaluation to ensure that outcomes that reflect transitional success are selected. Furthermore, the principles of healthy transitions identified by Transitions Theory will aid in the creation of recommendations for program improvement. Continuous quality improvement (CQI) will be joined with Transitions Theory in the program evaluation. Although originally developed by business managers, CQI is best known for its use in manufacturing settings, specifically in the automotive industry (Radawski, 1999). CQI was created with customers (patients) as the center of its philosophy; consequentially, the model ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Short Term Memory Research A central part of intellectual processing is the quantity limit in working memory (WM), also called short term memory that is, intensive access to a definite amount of data recently activated through long term memory (LTM) recovery. Different theorists have recommended that there is limit to what number of psychologically coherent units can be recalled at once. Miller (1956) as cited in (Cowan et al., 2012) recommended that what is now termed working memorywas express to a particular number of meaningful units. According to the Miller work, researchers studying on verbal memory recommended the capacity of working memorycan determined through the number if things practise in limited time. Other studies demonstrated that there was benefits... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The working capacity cause performance of an individual in simple circumstances helps to eliminate complex factors. The degree to which LTM contribute to quick memory shows up to rely on upon the measure. Moreover, Chen and Cowan (2009a) were unable to discover the long term memory contribution in remembering a list upto 12 things shaping up to six chunks. In contrast, Chen and Cowan succeed how well a WM limit model may hold up under articulatory concealment with a few key varieties. The difference has been found in the literature of working memory capacity through visual and verbal material. On one hand, more work is done towards hypothetical records of the remembering of basis items within visual arrays with the function of models in which items are used to fill various spaces of working memory. A little research has inspected working memory capacity for verbal things in recall methods. In this study, main attention has been given to the outcome that verbal things can be combined psychologically to shape bigger chunk of data. To find capacity limits, one should likewise have the capacity to identify the chunks. In the verbal area, utilizing recall strategies, the capacity limit idea has been lengthened to materials in which an arrangement of differently presented words frequently can make up a single chunk and in which the chunk size has been evaluated and varied.
