Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

2. La Corte Hispano Marroquí de Arbitraje
La Cour d´Arbitrage Hispano-Marocaine
En los últimos años se han potenciado de forma muy significativa las
relaciones comerciales entre España y Marruecos, y entre empresas de
ambos países. Ante esta intensificación de las relaciones comerciales y
de inversión entre ambos países nace la Corte Hispano Marroquí de
Arbitraje, como mecanismo ágil y equitativo para resolver eventuales
diferencias entre empresas. Se trata de un instrumento que permite
incrementar la seguridad jurídica y la confianza mutua en las
relaciones contractuales entre sujetos de derecho de España y
Marruecos.
La Corte Hispano Marroquí de Arbitraje se constituyó en septiembre de
2006 y se presentó en febrero de 2007 con la presencia del ministro de
Justicia marroquí, entre otras personalidades. Está compuesta por
juristas de ambos países, así como por árbitros internacionales, y
fomenta el arbitraje en las cada vez más frecuentes relaciones
comerciales entre ambos reinos. Nace en el marco del tercer plenario
del Foro Hispano Marroquí de Juristas, y en el seno de la Asociación
Europea de Arbitraje, con el fin de ofrecer una mayor seguridad jurídica
y confianza en las relaciones comerciales entre España y Marruecos.
El pasado 26 de noviembre de 2013 tuvo lugar en Casablanca la
presentación de su nuevo reglamento, así como su nueva sede, la
Cámara Oficial de Comercio de España en Marruecos.

d’Arbitrage Hispano-Marocaine a été créée en tant que mécanisme
efficace et équitable destiné à résoudre les éventuels différents entre
les entreprises. Il s’agit d’un instrument qui permet d’augmenter la
sécurité juridique et la confiance mutuelle dans les relations
contractuelles entre sujets de droit de l’Espagne et du Maroc.
La Cour d’Arbitrage Hispano-Marocaine a été constituée en septembre
2006 et a été inaugurée en février 2007 en présence du ministre de la
Justice marocaine, entre autres personnalités. Elle est composée de
juristes des deux pays, tout comme d’arbitres internationaux, et assure
la promotion de l’arbitrage dans les relations commerciales étant de
plus en plus fréquentes entre les deux royaumes. Elle est née dans le
cadre de la troisième assemblée du Forum hispano-marocain des
juristes, et au sein de l’Association Européenne d’Arbitrage, afin d’offrir
une plus grande sécurité juridique et confiance dans les relations
commerciales entre l’Espagne et le Maroc.
Le 26 novembre 2013 dernier, son nouveau siège (la Chambre de
Commerce Espagnole au Maroc) a été inauguré et son nouveau
règlement a été présenté, à Casablanca.
Reglamento
El reglamento de arbitraje de la Corte Hispano Marroquí se renovó en 2013
y se trata de un texto comparable a los reglamentos de referencia mundial.
Árbitros
La Corte Hispano Marroquí de Arbitraje cuenta con un Panel de árbitros
con gran recorrido profesional.
Cláusula arbitral
Para vincular un contrato al arbitraje de la Corte Hispano Marroquí de
Arbitraje, es necesario incluir la siguiente cláusula:
Toda controversia derivada de este contrato o convenio o que guarde
relación con él -incluida cualquier cuestión relativa a su existencia, validez,
terminación, interpretación o ejecución- será resuelta definitivamente
mediante arbitraje [de Derecho/equidad], administrado por la Corte
Hispano Marroquí de Arbitraje, de conformidad con su Reglamento de
Arbitraje vigente a la fecha de presentación de la solicitud de arbitraje. El
Tribunal Arbitral que se designe a tal efecto estará compuesto por [tres/un
único] árbitro[s] y el idioma del arbitraje será el [francés/español/otro]. La
sede del arbitraje será [Madrid/Casablanca/otra - ciudad + país]..."
Règlement
Le règlement d’arbitrage de la Cour Hispano Marocaine a également été
mis à jour l’année dernière et il s’agit d’un texte comparable aux textes
de référence au niveau international.
Arbitres
La Cour d’Arbitrage Hispano-Marocaine compte un Panel d’arbitres
dotés d’une grande expérience professionnelle.
Clause arbitrale
Pour soumettre un contrat à l’arbitrage de la Cour d’Arbitrage
Hispano-Marocaine, il est nécessaire d’inclure la clause suivante:
«Tout litige découlant du présent contrat ou convention ou en rapport
avec celui-ci, y compris toute question relative à son existence, validité,
résiliation, interprétation ou exécution, sera résolu en dernier recours
par arbitrage [de droit/d’équité], administré par la Cour d’Arbitrage
Hispano-Marocaine, conformément à son Règlement d’Arbitrage en
vigueur à la date de présentation de la demande d’arbitrage. Le Tribunal
Arbitral désigné à cet effet sera composé de [trois/un unique] arbitre[s]
et la langue de l’arbitrage sera le [français/espagnol/autre]. Le siège de
l’arbitrage sera [Madrid/Casablanca/autre ville + pays]...»
