A new .NET update is coming around. It will transform .NET development by providing features that should have been around a lot sooner! We can forgive the delay in this update given the fact that Microsoft is including the .NET Multi-Platform App UI (MAUI).
This new framework will aid developers who work mainly to develop mobile applications but also want other options open to them. A major benefit of using the MAUI is the ability to develop mobile applications that are no longer platform-dependent.
Introduction to Flutter sharing session organized by MaGIC Cyberjaya.
In this session I focus on introducing important widgets to build simple application. The widgets are group as:
- Boilerplate (scaffold) widget
- Layouting widgets
- Design widgets.
Hopefully this will help those who would like to start and discover mobile app development with Flutter.

Greane Tree Technology CTO Joseph Payette gave our latest “Lunch & Learn” presentation. With the number of tools and frameworks for cross platform mobile application development increasing every year, it can be a challenge to determine the best fit technology for a mobile project. All of these tools and frameworks have their advantages and disadvantages, as they leverage different mechanisms for abstracting differences across mobile devices in an effort to provide a single platform for rapid application development. To bring order to the various options at hand, Joe reviewed mobile application architectures (native, hybrid, and HTML5), and explored and compared a few hybrid tools and frameworks, namely PhoneGap (www.phonegap.com), Appcelerator (www.appcelerator.com), and MoSync (www.mosync.com). Joe’s mobile application development presentation includes sample code for these three tools and frameworks.
The Lunch and Learn series is a regular event where we discuss topics of interest to our projects and clients. Last month, Chad Calhoun explored Git Interactive Techniques.

What's new in Visual Studio for Mac for .NET DevelopersJon Galloway
An overview of recent, just landed, and upcoming features for .NET developers on macOS.
Presentation to Seattle Mobile .NET (Xamarin) Developers Group, April 8, 2020.
Going Mobile with C#, Visual Studio, and XamarinMatthew Soucoup
The mobile landscape continues to expand and evolve at a rapid pace. Users expect great native experiences in the palm of their hands on each and every platform. A major hurdle for developers today is the separate programming language and tools to learn and maintain for each platform. Even if you tackle the burden of learning Objective-C, Swift, or Java, you'll still have to manage multiple code bases, which can be a nightmare for any development team large or small. It doesn't have to be this way as you can create Android, iOS, Windows apps leveraging the .NET framework and everything you love about C#.
In this session, you'll learn about the technology that Xamarin offers and how it works to enable developers to leverage a shared C# code base across all mobile platforms. You'll walk through developing, designing, deploying, and optimizing your first mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Windows from a single code base. You'll even see how to share more code with Xamarin.Forms, which enables you to build native UIs for iOS, Android and Windows from a single, shared C# codebase. You will walk away with the knowledge to build cross platform mobile app with C# features such as LINQ, async/await, events, and delegates and inside of both Visual Studio and Xamarin Studio.
.NET 6 is the latest version of .NET that was released in Nov 2021. .NET 6 ecosystem offers simplifications on development, high performance, and ultimate productivity.

What is Serverless and how can AWS Lambda make your life better? Good question!
- What is Serverless?
- How does it work?
- How can I scale my Serverless instance?
- Can I use Serverless like an API? How else can I trigger + run the code?
- And is it really cheaper? What's the catch?
Did you know that the .NET compiler turns our async methods into classes? And that .NET adds a try/catch block to each of these classes, potentially hiding thrown exceptions? It's true!
Three (3) Community Toolkits have revolutionized the way we create our .NET MAUI apps. They allow us to write more-concise, more-readable code, more quickly. As the creator of the .NET MAUI Community Toolkit, I am a bit biased, but I promise that you will use these libraries in all of your .NET MAUI apps going forward if you aren't already! Join me in this session as we dive deep in the Community Toolkits to learn best practices and shine a spotlight on some of its best features!

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work.
