Psychological Manipulation
Psychological manipulation is a type of social influence that aims to change the behavior or
perception of others through abusive, deceptive, or underhanded tactics by advancing the interests
of the manipulator, often at another s expense, such methods could be considered exploitative,
abusive, devious, and deceptive. The process of manipulation involves bringing an unknowing
victim under the domination of the manipulator, often using deception, and using the victim to
serve their own purposes. Psychological manipulationcan be used by people with great power as
well as the common individual to get people to do what they want.
First let s list all the types of manipulation. 1.Express a desire to serve (show humility, care, love)

In a psychologically coercive environment, the victim is forced to adapt in a series of small
invisible steps. Each step is sufficiently small that the subject does not notice the changes or
identify the coercive nature of the process until much later, if ever. These tactics can be reinforced
in a group setting by well intended, but deceived, friends and allies of the victim. (Good cop/Bad
cop). This keeps the victim from setting up the ego defenses normally maintained in known
adversarial situations. Psychological coercion overcomes the individual s critical thinking abilities
and free will apart from any appeal to informed judgment. Victims gradually lose their ability to
make independent decisions and exercise informed consent. Their emotional defenses, cognitive
processes, values, ideas, attitudes, conduct and ability to reason are undermined, and decisions are
no longer through meaningful free choice, rationality, or the inherent merit or value of the ideas or
propositions being presented. Coercive psychological systems violate our most fundamental
concepts of basic human rights. They violate rights of individuals that are guaranteed by many
declarations of principle worldwide. Victims become confused, intimidated and silenced by actions
accepted as harmful, such as uncompromising influence, involuntary servitude, and infliction of
emotional distress. The victim becomes compliant and brainwashed, Social and emotional isolation.
Induced emotional exhaustion, Monopolization of perceptions, Reinterpretation of reality,
Degradation/denial of the victim s power, Altered states of consciousness, and the powerful

Iroquois Indian Creation Myths
Creation Myth and legend
Let There Be Light , A saying used to illustrate the illumination, or beginning of something. Through
creation stories and myths, we can analyze, or have a better understanding of how past civilizations
may have looked at life, science, and nature. I will compare the similarities, and point out the
differences between the Greek culture, Christian/Jewish, and Iroquois Indian civilizations. How
they characterized the primordial, creation, and the gender gap through narrative. This gives us
insight to their societies values and beliefs at the time they were written. As discussed in class, and
watched a video of Alan Watts speaking about the concept of something from nothing, the term Tao
says that space and form go ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Greek civilization suggest the Gender gap as being of a more strategic implication rather
than a gender viewpoint. The male having dominance over woman is a theme in Greek
mythology, from sons allying with mothers to defeat the fathers, to the rape of Persephone. As
Homer and Hesiod describe Hera as being second and subservient to her husband, using trickery
to overcome Zeus plans. Although the feminine does play an important role it is one of creation
and nurturing. Likewise, in the Genesis story, woman is created from man and is made to give
him aid. After they had eaten of the fruit from the tree of good and evil, God was as a parent and
correcting, or punishing the children. God said to Eve in Genesis 3:16 your desire will be for your
husband and he shall rule over you.

My Personal Experience Of Sexuality Education At Avondale...
The time at which we are at school is thought to be one of the most critical times of our lives. It is a
period in our life in which we start discovering ourselves and our sexualities.School is an institution
that is thought to provide enrichment in all aspects, not just academic stimulation but also emotional
maturity and psychological development.Sexuality education therefore has become a fundamental
aspect of one s learning as it not only enables us to formulate ideas regarding sexual identity and
gender but also allows us acknowledge ourselves as sexual beings. It can be argued that sexuality is
not the property of the individual and is not a hormonally or biologically given quality (Epstein,O
Flynn and Telford, 2003) but rather it is a socially constructed paradigm or notion that permeates
almost all aspects of not just schooling but our society, both formally and informally. This notion of
sexuality is ever changing and it is made dynamic by particular events in history that change our
perspectives and priorities.By using my personal experience of sexuality education at Avondale
College and St.Dominic s College,I aim to demonstrate the ever increasing importance of
comprehensive sexuality education in New Zealand and show how the current curriculum very
successfully promotes heteronormativity but often fails to wholeheartedly acknowledge
desire, homosexualtity and teenage pregnancy. This failure to acknowlege key aspects of sexuality
in schools has numerous consequences

How Is Naruto Portrayed In Dawn Of The Arcana
Comparing Manga Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto is a Manga about a young ninja in training and
his battle against the forces of evil in his quest to become the next Hokage. Dawn of the Arcana by
Rei Toma is a Manga about a young princess who is forced to marry to stop to rival nations from
going to war. Both Naruto and Dawn of the Arcana entertain audiences through strong characters,
symbols and emotions. This is evident throughout Naruto. Especially in the action see as you can
see the emotions on the characters faces such as determination. In Dawn of the Arcana you can see

Both of the main characters fit into stereotypes but in many aspects also break these stereotypes.
Naruto fits the stereotype of a young boy in the fact that he is a trouble making and is out
seeking adventure. He is very violent and breaks the stereotype of a young boy in the fact that
he is a ninja and that he has superpowers. Nakaba in Dawn of the Arcana is a young princess and
she fits that stereotype better than Naruto fits his stereotype of a boy. Nakaba has all things that
a stereotypical princess has, servants, guards, a castle and royal attire. But she still does break
the stereotype of a young princess in many ways. Most princess aren t forced to marry in order to

Star Wars Effects
One of the reasons creating Star Wars was so hard was because of the technology available, or
lack thereof. Even Lucas said, There was no special effects companies in those days and the
studios special effects department had been disbanded. Part of the was because of the expense,
and part of it was that the American taste, the culture had gone toward very realistic looking
films. (Empire of Dreams) But Lucas was determined and In many cases, the equipment and
techniques to realize what Lucas envisioned did not exist yet; they would have to be invented.
(Clark 43) So in 1975, Lucas created a visual effects company and hired John Dykstra, a talented
special effects artist, to head the company which he named ILM, or Industrial Light Magic. ILM
spurred from Star Warsand is still renowned today for having some of the best special effects in
the industry. One of the things they created was called the Dystraflex, The world s first digital
computer controlled camera system, it was capable of precise and repeatable movement, giving the
filmmakers far more control in, among other areas, their work with miniatures. (Elhefnawy 52) Or,

My Perceptions About And Prior Experience With Depression,...
How have your perceptions about and prior experience with depression, grief and suicide been
challenged by the information presented?
During my nursing career, I have worked in many high stress areas (ex; labor and delivery, where
not every outcome is great, medical surgical unit, where a lot of people would get diagnosed with
pancreatic cancer, and neurosurgical unit, where I took care of many young individuals affected by
glioblasoma multiforme) where my patients were depressed (acute depression) due to their
diagnosis and were not sure how to cope with their situation. I did have several suicidal patients, as
well. Reflecting on this week s readings, especially on Meghan s pp presentations, I must admit that
I have to learn more about different depression and suicide tools that are available. That is going to
help me not only in my current practice but also in the future.
The Joint Commission (2016) made following recommendations regarding detecting suicide in any
type of settings:
Review each patient s personal and family medical history for suicide risk factors.
Screen all patients for suicide ideation, using a brief, standardized, evidence based screening tool.
Review screening questionnaires before the patient leaves the appointment or is discharged.
Take the following actions, using assessment results to inform the level of safety measures needed:
keep patients in acute suicidal crisis in a safe health care environment, under one to one

Freak is crippled and short, and Max is tall and retarded. When they become friends, Freak rides on

book really shows how you should not judge someone by how they look, which is like the moral of
the story. The character of Freak/kevin is first described as a, crippled kid like humanoid. pg.10 If
we were to describe him just on his appearance we would see him as a scrawny, geeky, crippled kid

Could you live in a bathtub for 40 years?
Marine parks such as SeaWorld hold many sea animals prisoner to confined concrete tanks with
little emotional and physical interaction. Blackfish, a documentary that sheds light on the dark side
of SeaWorld and it s abuse on Tilikum (a killer whale). Similarly, Lolita, an orca whaleat Miami
Seaquarium has been living in captivity for forty seven years in poor conditions. Peta brings
attention to this matter by making a Free Lolita poster with the celebrity, Adriana de Moura
testifying for Lolita as well. The poster displays Adriana in a small white bathtub with bold print
above stating, Could you live in a bathtub for 40 years? with a short paragraph at the bottom
describing just a few of Lolita s hardships. The ad promotes all ethos, logos and pathos persuasion
well enough to make the reader want to learn more about the cause.
The ad claims Lolita lives alone in a tiny tank with chemically tested water and is being
neglected. This would appeal to an emotional audience invoking sadness and pity for Lolita
enough to donate to her release. Pathos could have been displayed better by showing a picture of
Lolita in her small tank as a reference or in the bathtub with Adriana to make it more heartbreaking
for the audience. Pathos used in narrative art can also use humor, fear, desires, affection... Show

Medical Advances Throughout History And History
Medical advances throughout history has provided people the safety and comfort of knowing that
whatever illness befalls them, there is will be a treatment regimen that will bring relief.
Vaccinations has prevented and nearly eliminated many childhood diseases. Maintenance
medications provide a way for older adults to manage their chronic medical conditions. But there
are some medical conditions that are also chronic, but with no cure available. One such condition is
HIV, or human immunodeficiency virus. According to Tortora, HIV is the pathogen causing the
loss of immune function that selectively infects helper T cells (545). My goal in this paper is to
show the advances modern medicine has achieved in discovering the different ways to combat this
disease, whether it is attacking the virus directly or assisting our own body s ability to fight
infection.
Vaccinations are usually are our first line of defense at preventing diseases. According to
Haynes, isolation of potent broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) assist CD8T cell killing of
HIV infected cells, have opened new avenues for strategies for HIV vaccine design (39). These
antibodies recognize a protein that is present on the surface of all HIV strains and neutralize the
effects of the virus. The problem researchers have here is that, with vaccination, a person builds up
their own immune response rather quickly. But with HIV vaccines, the antibodies are produced
after two to four years of infection due to these

Performance Based Budgeting As The Reformative Approach...
Performance Based Budgeting as the Reformative Approach for Developing Countries
Introduction
Developing countries, or newly industrialized countries are focusing to achieve the status of
developed nations. The recent multilateral trade agreement signed between the US and other
developed countries shows the untapped potential they can serve. Due to the underutilized
resources in the countries, their GDPs are growing fas. Malaysia, for example, have set the goal to
become on par with other developed countries such as the US, UK, and Germany by the year
2020(World Bank, 2016). To achieve the vision, these countries must adopt reformative approach to
enhance the function of government in their countries, and from the perspective of this paper, it is
suggested for them to adopt the performance based budgeting in their administration because of its
efficiency and accountability natures.
Problem Description
Issues that are most common in developing countries are the inefficiency of the government to
cater the economic needs and the corruption happening in the administration (Shah, 2007).
It is hoped that through out this paper, we are able to demonstrate how performance based
budgeting could be the reformative approach towards development for developing countries.
Background
There are three budgetary approaches used in the modern world; line item and incremental
budgeting, zero based budgeting and performance based budgeting (Hager, 2001).
The traditional method of

The Big Friendly Giant Analysis
Roald Dahl wrote the big friendly giant as a contribution of his seven year old daughter who
passed away. Dahl was a British World War 2 fighter and later became interested in writing books
for adults. Soon after, he began to write children books and mad big hits off popular books and
movies such as James And the GiantPeach. Roald Dahlhad 5 kids and a wife named Patricia Neal.
The Big Friendly Giant was dedicated to Oliva, his daughter, who died of a disease called
measles encephalitis which is swelling of the brain. The book was published in 1982 which was
20 years after died. A person shouldn t be judged since they are different than you, interpreting
someone s ways may contribute to your outlook on them such as how are they different from
you, what are they morals and how the character behaves. In the book The Big Friendly Giant, a
little girl named Sophie was captured from an orphanage by a giant. The giant was genuine and
nice to Sophie, he also was a vegetarian which revealed he wasn t going to eat Sophie. The Giant
was called The Big friendly Giant since he always treated Sophie respectfully and protected her.
The Big Friendly Giant took Sophie to an ancient cave which was his home. His house was
immense to Sophie since he lived in a world where giants exist and everything was massive.
Outside his house lived other giants who were carnivores and mean to the big friendly giant. The
giants who lived outside the cave would go snatch children up and eat them.

The Importance Of Chemical Interaction
Kinetics is essentially the study of reaction rates and how they can be affected. Factors such as
concentration, pressure, temperature, and enzyme activity, are commonly tested regarding their
impact on the rate of a reaction (Khan Academy, 2017). It is important to recognise and understand
the components that affect the rate of chemical reactions as this allows control over the reaction
process. Chemical reactions progress naturally at different rates. A chemical reactioninvolves the
rearrangement of the molecular or ionic structure of substances as they change into other
substances by the breaking of bonds in reactants and the formation of bonds in products
(Wilbraham, 2002). Collision theory can be used to explain why chemical reactions proceed at
different rates. Collision Theory states that atoms, ions and molecules must collide in order for a
reaction to proceed and form products (Stubbings, 2017). Thus, the higher frequency of successful
collisions, the faster the reaction rate will be. Kinetic theory states that particles of matter are in
constant motion thus, kinetic energy is the energy acquired as a result of an object s motion
(Wilbraham, 2002). In order for collisions to be successful however the molecules must acquire a
minimum amount of kinetic energy called their activation energy and they must collide at a precise
orientation. The rate of reaction can be modified with the appropriate knowledge and
understandings of the factors affecting the collisions of

The Soviet War Of Russia Essay
The Russian military is vastly superior to that of the Baltic States (Estonia, Lithuania, and
Latvia) and Russia has an interest in occupying the Baltic States for strategic and political
reasons. A large minority of the population of the Baltics is ethnically Russian, installed in the
area after Soviet occupation of the Baltics after the Second World War. Also, Russian forces near
the Baltics outnumber Baltic and NATO forces in the area. Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave
between Poland and Lithuania, is the headquarters of Russia s Baltic fleet (Meyer). The desired
military end state for the United States is that Russia is incapable or unwilling to invade the
Baltics, and the Baltics are assured of this. We are interested in how United States military assets
may be brought to bear in order to achieve Baltic security from Russia. We assert that Baltic
security may be enhanced by increasing the presence of United States military forces in the Baltics.
Russia s center of gravity is their military strength relative to the Baltic States and NATO forces
stationed in the area. This center of gravity has the twin critical capabilities of the abilities to invade
the Baltic States, and the ability to intimidate and influence the Baltic population. Russia s critical
requirements are a strong military, their geographic nearness to the Baltics, the element of surprise,
and Nuclear weapons. Of these, their element of surprise and their relative military strength are the

enforcing Affirmative Action many of the people who would normally be disregarded for being
deficient in Spanish would finally have opportunities for desired positions. With applicants
depending on being bilingual for jobs, affirmative action will force employers to focus on
education, certifications, and diplomas. With focusing on credentials, and not language; Employers
will hire those suitable for the job. Also, this allows bilingual to not only have language, but the
necessary credentials for the job. With having bilinguals with credentials leaves room for
translations for those who do not speak the necessary language. With depending on each other for
information, bilinguals, and non bilinguals would have to learn to communicate efficiently, and

The pyramids of Giza consist of three pyramids created on a rocky plateau on the west bank of
the Nile River near Al JД«zah (Giza) in northern Egypt during the 4th dynasty (c. 2575 c. 2465
BCE). The northernmost is the oldest pyramid which was built for Khufu, the second king of

length of each side of the base is about 755.75 feet and its original height being 481.4 feet. The

However there was one woman that became a very successful ruler. Hatshepsut was the first
woman to take the thrown as a pharaoh for fifteen years. She was a descendent from a few strong
women such as Aahotep, who was a strong military leader and the mother of King Ahmose I. As
soon as Ahmose died, his son Amenhotep ruled but hadn t had any male heirs. Because of lack of
male heirs, an army general and commoner, Thutmose I, became king from marrying Amenhotep s
sister Nefertiri. Hatshepsut was the oldest of her two sisters. After her father, Thutmose I, died she

Cultural Construction Of Culture
Karissa WalterProfessor Polak
4/17/16Sociology Our entire world is perceived in the lens of culture and influences our
construction of reality. The social and cultural construction of our reality is built around our social
heritage. Some of the terms I found to be rather interesting were language, cultural shock, social
norms, social status, and social roles in correlation to socialization. Culture is the overall view of
shared products between human society. When we live in a given society we are taught things in
ways that other people learn them in different societies. It is safe to assume that society influences
our cultural construction of reality. The most influential topic in correlation to cultural construction
is language. Culture is passed on my language and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we speak about social norms, we are talking about the standards of behavior we are
expected to conform to as a social group. In certain situations, behavior is dictated by who we are
surrounded by. Much like how we are influence by our cultural construction of reality. Behavior
can be influenced by society and culture in the form of mannerisms or etiquette. Moral
standards are also shaped by society and help differentiate between what is right or wrong.
Socialization can be further broken down into social status and social role. Your social status is
dependent on your place in life, including your career and family positions. For example, being a
father and teacher may shape your perspectives on particular subjects. This can be further broken
down into social roles, as people play different roles through their lives. For example, the teacher
whose a father can also be a son, uncle, and a brother. This makes his position in society more
complex. Every person is further shaped by their environment, socioeconomic class, school, family,
mass media, peer group, and possibly

Analysis Of In-State Winery
FACTS: Michigan and New York allowed in state wineries to ship wine directly to consumers, but
limited out of state wineries from doing the same. Although the regulatory restrictions differed
slightly between the States, both States essentially set up costly barriers for out of state wineries to
reach consumers in their States, which were not required of in state wineries. The object and
design of the regulation in both States was to give a competitive advantage to in state wineries.
Eleanor Heald, a wine collector, and eleven other plaintiffs argued that Michigan s Liquor Control
Code violated the Dormant Commerce Clauseby making it a misdemeanor for an out of state

Yes. In a 5 4 opinion delivered by Justice Kennedy, the Court held that both states laws violated the
dormant commerce clause by favoring in state wineries at the expense of out of state wineries and
did so without the authorization of the 21st Amendment.
MAJORITY OPINION Justices Scalia, Kennedy, Souter, Ginsburg, and Breyer provide the opinion
of the court. The Court has consistently held that if a state law requires different treatment of in
state and out of state economic interests to benefit the other, the law violates the Commerce Clause.
This case is very clear and that both New York and Michigan s laws discriminate against interstate
commerce. The States arguments that the laws are protected by the 21st amendment is invalid
based on the history of the amendment and the Court s precedent. The purpose of the 21st
amendment is to control the use and distribution of liquor, not discriminate against out of state
alcohol manufacturers.
The differential treatment between in state and out of state wineries demonstrates explicit
discrimination against interstate commerce.
This discrimination substantially limits the direct sale of wine to consumers, an otherwise booming
and significant business.
Both Michigan and New York argued that their plans were geared toward

Patterns and Characteristics of the Abuser and the Abused
An abuser is a physical and emotional action in which an individual does to someone else. The
individual that suffers from the abuse is called the abused, there is different patterns and
characteristics were you can find out which individual is the abuser or the abused. Concentrating on
different responses from the individual, physical actions, and monitoring the individual

Another difference is majority of abuser are men and the abused will be a women. Screening any
type of jealousy, control, and manipulations will set the abuser apart from the abused. An individual
who is abused will have characteristics of insecurities, low self esteem, trust issues, and withdrawn
symptoms. This can happen from the effects of mental or physical abuse.
Screening a child for abuse or neglect can be difficult at times because the child is not fully
development to understand what is wrong and right especially when the abuser is a family member
the child trust. Screening a child can takes months sometimes to fully understand the characteristics
that are shown. Examples of the patterns are; not able to show affection, having continuous
nightmares, fear of touch, regression to common childlike behavior, and fear of individuals and
environments. The characteristics of an abuse child or neglected are; withdrawn symptoms, violent,
depressed, and fearful. These characteristics have to be evaluating carefully to ensure there is not a
disability that the child is suffering or the child just wants to be defiant. When child maltreatment is
suspected, going through such a list will narrow down suspicions. Remember, there are many
reasons for each behavior and characteristic that is found in a checklist. Even when a child exhibits

Max Brooks World War Z
World War Z Essay
In the novel, World War Z by Max Brooks, the protagonist interviews several characters that have
confronted the zombie crisis. Throughout the book the experiences and encounters of the
characters are related to international relations. The concepts that are most helpful in understanding
the International Relations of World WarZ include a security dilemma, zero sum game, and
bureaucratic politics model. In this essay I will analyze four different interviews of Bob Archer,
Travis D Ambrosia, Whako, and Ernesto Olguin while evaluating the individual, state, and
international levels of analysis, and argue the realist and liberalist theoretical approach best explain
the International Relations of each event or conflict.

The individual level of analysis is when the moral principles of individuals may translate into

Whako and the president were very different. They came from diverse parties and had opposite
personalities but still worked closely together. Based on his personality and perspective, the
reader learns that he is passionate while the President is more logical which made them a good
team. However, based on the past experiences and personality of the Whako it creates biases on
how he perceived events. In his opening statements, he discusses that he had been a rising political
star until he self destructed, according to the media. From this statement it ruins his credibility as it
is difficult to know what is true and false. During questions regarding the election process, the
interviewer notes that Whako at first did not support the elections, but the President was able to
convince him that they were necessary, as they needed to know the public opinion and set a tone
for the administration. One of the president s policy was strict punishment laws. These laws kept
no one above the law and set order in the nation. Most importantly, it reflects his moral principles

Analysis Of Bree s Cupcake Shop Essay
Bree s Cupcake Shop Bree s Cupcake Shop is a small shop that provides baked goods, those of
cupcakes in particular. A cupcake is essentially a small version of a cake that is designed to
serve one person. The mission of Bree s Cupcake shop is to provide all of its consumers that
have a sweet tooth with delicious treats that are affordable, but taste like luxury. The end goal is
to grow into a shop that sells amazing cupcakes in which consumers have a high demand for.
Each and every single cupcake that will be provided at this shop will be baked in store and
served fresh each and every day. Consumers also have the option of ordering special made
cupcakes that consist of particular frosting colors, different types of toppings or even special
messages on them for special occasions. The best part about Bree s Cupcake Shop is that each
and every cupcake is made to provide the customer with a yummy bite, from the actual filling of
the cupcake, to the icing that will be placed on top. The cupcakes purchased from Bree s
Cupcake shop will come in a box, which will contain a total of 12 cupcakes. The reason I believe
the goals of this particular business will be attainable is due to the fact that there is a huge market
and majority of it consists of consumers that enjoy things that are affordable, but taste of high
quality, so I believe this business will be successful in reaching a huge market. In order to achieve
my goals, I plan on buying majority of my products in bulk, so that I

the global digital economy. The author Michael S. Malone s talks about the company that is

Noyce, the most respected and influential person of Silicon Valley of his generation, brought
credibility the company s formation; Moore made Intel the world s technological leader; and

specifically for the job which is a big challenge in itself. Skilled workforce is inter related with
efficiency. Efficient workforce is as necessary as skilled workforce. Skill and Efficiency are two
sides of the same coin. Efficiency mainly contributes towards productivity. Organization is not
made up of a single individual, it is made up of numerous people. Skill can be acquired after a

Henry Turner Superego
Freud believes there is three parts of a person s personality, the Id, Ego and Superego. The Id is
the portion of the brain that is based on a pleasure principle , meaning that this is the part that
controls a person s craving and wants. There is also the Ego which is based on the reality
principle , meaning this is the section of your brain telling you how it really is and saying you
can t have something based on the present situation. Lastly, there is the Superego which is based
on moral principle , meaning that you can t have something your Id wants because it is morally

The Epic Of Alexander Pope s The Rape Of The Lock
Mock epic is a narrative poem which aims at mockery and laughter by using almost all the
characteristic features of an epic but for a trivial subject. Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock
is a famous mock epic. In it, there is invocation to Muses, proposition of subject, battles,
supernatural machinery, journey on water, underworld journey, long speeches, feasts (coffee
house), Homeric similes and grand style but all for a simple family dispute instead of a national
struggle. The grand treatment of a low subject produces hilarious laughter and makes the story more
ridiculous.
Firstly, Paradise Lost is a long epic poem by John Milton begins with the proposition of
justification of God s way to man with nice invocation to the Muses. And another epic poem titled
The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser follows the same manner. The subject matters in both of
the epic poems are grand. Like the epic poems, the poem The Rape of the Lock opens with the
proposition of the subject matter and Pope s invocation to the Muses to help him compose the
literary art. Such a grand treatment of a trivial subject matter like the clipping of the lock of
Belinda provokes laughter when the poet says:

considerable detail the armor and weaponry of the great Achilles, as well as the battlefield

The Downside Of Teleporting In Star Trek
Teleportation
An Introduction to Teleporting
Beam me up, Scotty!
When Star Trek was first released in 1966, teleportation was only a dream. Now a days, people
are claiming that future generations as soon as great grandchildren will be able to teleport with
ease. There are, however, many things that Star Trek hasn t prepared fans for, and although there
are many perks to teleportation, people need to weigh in the risk factors as well. The pros may
sound promising but, the cons tremendously outweigh them.
The Downside of Teleportation
This paper could go on and on about the definition of life or crap like that, however that would be

First of all, by teleporting, all of the atoms in the human body would essentially deconstruct and
then reconstruct in a new place. With all of this assembling and disassembling taking place, an
issue that needs to be brought up and spoken about is whether or not there would be any mixed

coffee culture. In addition to the history, there is also consideration for the types of coffee drink
that can be ordered, as well as coffee selection and order.
Al introduces me to the various types of coffee that I can order in a coffee store in Australia,
such as flat white, cappuccino and latte. He also gives me a list of coffee drinks to look up
online. His intention is obvious: to get me to read and extend my knowledge of the types of
coffee drinks that are available. I have learned of drinks that I never know exist, and in the

is a fairly new word that I learn only after my arrival in Australia. It basically refers to the person
who makes coffee in a cafГ©. What I do not connect for the longest time, at least not until recently,

Artist in Europe during the п¬Ѓrst half of the twentieth century were faced with manypolitical and
social conflicts to interrupter. One of these artist was Salvador Dali. Daliwas famous for his
quirky personality and bold art during the Post Great War period(Print, Sayre, 462). He was apart
of the surrealist movement which included otherfamous artist such as Picasso (Sayre, 475). One
piece he created that displays hispersonality and artistic ability is The Persistence of Memory.
This piece features meltingclocks and a unique background. It is a mysterious and extremely

Effect Of Observation On The Language Development Of Home...
The setting that I choose for observation #1 is a home child care. The children vary in their ages
from six weeks up to four years. There are one baby, four infants and three preschoolers. In this
observation, I will describe the language development of child A and child B that are in the
infant room. Afterward, I will describe the interactions strategies that the teacher uses when
sharing the book. The setting of the play area is indoor and outdoors. The indoor area is a
proximal 25ft by 30ft. In this room the toys were ordered in a basket and by category. The teacher
let the infants know that is play time. The care provider introduces the toys and assigns them to
play. ChildA is about one year and two months and start to explore one specific

Flatbed Truck Case Study
This is what I heard:
In general things seems to be going well. One safety incident had occurred with taking the sides off
a flatbed truck. Trace had concerns with the amount effort required to report the incident and
develop an action plan. He was also concern with how the action plan could be implemented and the
larger operational implications for utilizing the flatbed truck. Trace explained that a two person lift
doesn t seem feasible, since the panels are not the large and having two people lift them may
cause additional issues/complications (e.g. you won t always have two people available to lift the
rails). Redesign of the bed could be expensive and would require support to be permanently
installed, which could cause access issues. The second CPS flatbed truck has a different rail
system design with swing gates, but it causes access issues.
Trace also mentioned concerns with the process for developing a ... Show more content on

In general things seemed to be going well. The CPS team seems to be having a productive and
successful year. The crew seemed in good spirts and felt like the season was going well. IAB is
happy with the work CPS has completed and the relationship still appears strong.
Trace is frustrated with level of effort require for incident reporting and seems to feel that HSE
is being unreasonable in how they implement solutions. This should be an engineered truck rail
system that appears to be design for a single person lift. Side rails only seemed to weigh about 30
lbs. Trace is typically one of our biggest advocates for safety, so his concern most likely have
some validity. Trace mentioned that it isn t worth reporting if it is going to require this much
effort and we can t find a reasonable solution. These types of comments concern me. We need to
make sure we have buy in from the field on our safety program.

The Long Hour
I entered the room wincing with a feel of a deep pulsating sensation over my head. There is a
feeling that my head is bouncing like a ball in a soccer field and a constant blink blink sound is
being transmitted internally into my ears. The tingling sensations in my legs and arms with
flashes of light before the start of this sensation made me anxious. I looked around the room and
saw few more people sharing their pain and feelings with their loved ones. Everyone seemed in
problem and is frowning with the wrinkle on their forehead and a down slant lips. The room
occasionally bursts into a laughter followed by an awkward silence, as if everyone is trying to hear
the soundof a dropped pin. Every few minutes, a pretty woman on her blue scrubs... Show more

Every second was counting as a minute for me due to the nature of the pain in my head. There
were few people moving out of the doctor s room with some relieved face and many were
entering in to join us. Every type of people was there, some were old, some were young, and
some were newborn. A young woman, in her twenties, with a short, silky red dress entered the
room on her catwalk and a tack tack tack noise of her boot echoed in the room. As she passed by
the side, a gush of air whistled through my ear and a sweet aroma of her fragrance activated my
olfactory nerves. I closed my eyes and felt a great relief on my head. As I closed my eyes, a vivid
picture of the beautiful girl revolved around my eyes and the pulsation of the head decreased. It
was a relaxing and an exciting moment amidst the agony. When I opened the eyes, she was
sitting in front of me, but the head again started pulsating; felt like the rolling of a boiling water
and the bright light was disturbing me. I quickly contracted my periocular muscles to keep my
eyes semi closed so that only a fraction of the light enters my aperture. It led to a self realization
of a vital fact that a momentary relief of the throbbing pain was not because of that sweet
fragrance and the beautiful woman, but it was due to the darkness in my eyes. A partial cure of
my suffering amazed me and waited eagerly, with eyes closed and ears

Henry David Thoreau s Civil Disobedience
In Henry David Thoreau s Civil Disobedience , Thoreau makes the claim that the best form of
government is a government that doesn t govern at all. Thoreau s paper pushes for the people to
begin following the will of their conscience rather than blindly and foolishly follow the unjust idea
of majority rule . Throughout the paper Thoreau makes a point of stating that majority rule is
simply the will of the upper class being forced into action over the rights and wills of the poorer
minority. This paper openly criticizes and condemns many institutions and policies of the American
National government. Because Thoreau wrote this paper during the Mexican American War he
uses in it, in addition to slavery, to reinforce his statement of all political decisions merely being
the wills of the strongest citizens put into action. For the purpose of this assignment the paper has
been divided into three significant parts, Thoreau did not have these divisions. In the third part of
Thoreau s paper he begins writing about his own acts of civil disobedience. He moves from his
discussion of his night in jail, talked about in the second part, to his various reasons for accepting or
refusing to pay certain taxes. From here Thoreau continues to statethat he is not sure how long he
can maintain his resolve to deny the government, stating that he is in constant search of a reason to
follow its laws. Thoreau then explains that the reason he did not follow the conventional paths of
reform is

People clearly are an organization s most critical resource. Their knowledge and skills along with
their commitment, creativity, and effort are the basis for competitive advantage. It is people that
have creative ideas for new products or for process improvements that devise marketing strategy or
take technologies to the next level.
As consultant for Blue Sky, it is my obligation to develop recommendations based on issues
addressed in the case, to ensure Willis can develop an effective managementteam in accordance

Many different techniques exist to intrinsically motivate employees(Walker, 2008). Some include:
job enlargement, job rotation, and job enrichment. As noted earlier, job satisfaction among
employees is important for a company to attain, thus, the use of techniques that boost intrinsic
motivation is key. However, the employees were happy because they were paid well. The flip
side to that is those older employees are closes to retirement, and have no intrinsic motivation.
They are not motivated in sharing to new ways in doing things for the organization, such as
saving money and hiring new clientele as suggested by Hubres in her memo. Therefore, it has
been suggested by Willis that James and Counts work together to develop a retirement package for
senior employees in the division without any immediate replacement for retirees. This would be a
start in saving money for the division. In question 3 of the case study, it relates to strategic plan and
decision making process. The question ask, if there has been a strategic planning and decision
making change at Blue Sky? If so, is this a positive change? Yes, there has been a strategic plan
and decision making process at Blue Sky and positive change. The strategy plan comes from an
outside consultant that has been asked to help Willis to develop an organization plan. A strategy
plan must be for an organization and not an analysis of the current plan. In the

Euthyphro-Plato
Euthyphro s well known impasse pertaining to the characteristic of piety is one of the many
dialogues written by the Greek philosopher Plato detailing the pursuit for wisdom by his mentor,
Socrates. This well known impasse regarding the nature of piety presents the question of whether
or not piety is an act or thing loved by the gods? Regardless if an act is considered right or wrong,
the truth or a lie, just or unjust, and holy or unholy, all are the basis of contentious debates difficult
within society. Finding common ground within these oppositions can be challenging because of the
diversity of cultural, religious, and moral values, and beliefs in society. Such is the situation with
Socrates and Euthyphro. Platos Euthyphro is a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Euthyphro believes that for a man to be holy to the gods, he must act accordingly, and do what
is pleasing to the gods. Taking care of the gods is doing service for the gods. This definition
seems to lead to the idea that prayer and sacrifice will get a person what he or she wants as long
as it is considered holy by the gods. This explanation indicates that either the gods recognize holy
things and love them because they are holy, or the gods love these things that they are holy. It is
only because the gods love these things that they are holy. For why would we need the gods if
things are holy and unholy independently of them? Socrates wanted to know the definition of piety
and was not asking for an example of it. As the conversation between Euthyphro and Socrates
progressed it seems that there was no final definition given. The dialogue ends without thoroughly
explaining anything about a real definition, and leaving Euthyphro frustrated and perplexed by
Socrates responses. The dialogue concludes without a real definition of holiness. Socrates indicated
that each person has his or her own interpretation. I believe that another main message of this
dialogue left by Socrates is that no one, including himself can know everything about anything, and
that there will always be more to learn. People should strive to make their own conclusions,
thinking for themselves, and viewing issues from many angles. Personally, my definition of piety is
maintaining good moral

For family, it s good for parents to take their children seeing the professional performance and
have good time in the weekend afternoon with relative low cost compared to other entertainment.
For students, they can hang out with friend and classmates. Why they wouldn t opt to attend
games with reasonable cost and convenient transportation (especially important factor for
students.) Take my personal experience as example, I usually went to see my country
professional baseball game not only I m a big baseball fan but also there is special discount for
students. Students can have half price, and take free shuttle bus from my college to the stadium.
Because of it, we were glad to attend the games even there is not my supported team of the
matchups. Just experience the games circumstance and atmosphere. So I would recommend the
Nor easters to pursue the more potential attenders as they can. 4. What consideration should the
Nor easter take into account in establishing a pricing policy? The price is the factor that the most
visible and flexible part of sport marketing. I think there are few considerations that need to be
count in establishing a pricing policy. Offering more ticket packages for different type of
consumers that can attract more people attending games. As I mentioned before, Nor easter should
try to know about and do survey on students, families and school groups preference of ticket price.

Jay Gatsby Accomplishments
If you re looking at that list and thinking, Sweet!, you re in luck. Published in 1925, The Great
Gatsby is set in New York City and Long Island during the Prohibition era (remember, the
Prohibition era was a time in which alcohol was illegal, no matter how old you were yowsa).
Flappers? It s got them. Parties? You bet? Cool cars? Absolutely but more on that in a minute.
The problem is, author F. Scott Fitzgerald didn t see the Jazz Age as all about hip music and
sparkly clothes. He associated the entire period with materialism ( I want things! Lots of things! )
and immorality. For many of the post World War I era s newly wealthy, materialism and
immortality were the name of the game. The novel s star is Jay Gatsby, a young, rich man in ...

The novel s very title has become a kind of buzzword for periods of excess and fake luxury. The
economic collapse of 2008 brought back distant and unwelcome memories of the stock market
crash of 1929, casting the boom times of the 1990s and early 2000s as the modern day version of
the Roaring Twenties.
In both cases, though, unsustainable boom times led to devastating crashes with profound cultural
consequences. In the 1920s, it had been a bubble in stocks that brought easy prosperity, while in
our own time the bubble had been in the housing market. In both times, easy money meant that
many people could begin to dream of living out their days like Jay Gatsby, with life as just one
grand party in a seersucker suit. But as that vision of easy luxury crashed and burned (in both 1929
and 2008), newfound hard times required a redefinition of the American Dream.
And while Gatsby is a work of fiction, Fitzgerald s real life contains some suspicious similarities.
(Gulp.) Narrator Nick Carraway is both mesmerized and disgusted by Gatsby s extravagant
lifestyle, just as Fitzgerald claimed to feel about the Jazz Age excesses that he himself adopted.
As an Ivy League educated, middle class Midwesterner, Fitzgerald (like Nick) saw through the
shallow materialism of the era. But (like Gatsby) Fitzgerald came back from World War I and fell
in love with a wealthy southern socialite Zelda

Voluntaryly Childless Couples
Be fruitful and multiply, this is the word of the Lord. However, this is now being challenged by
some married couples as there is an increasing rate of married couples choosing to remain
childless. The traditional definition of a family is defined as a man and a woman living together
with child /children. However, a new familytype has emerged, such as voluntary childless couples.
In this family type the couple is married and is fully capable of biological reproduction, but have
no intention of doing so. Thus, voluntary childlessness among a married couple exists for a number
of reasons: due to achieving a higher level of educational attainment, so as to pursue a higher
standard of living and fear that children will potentially cause an unhappy marriage. Because of
achieving a higher level of educational attainment, some married couples choose to remain
childless. The household childlessness rate is strongly linked to married couples with high
educational level. For example, the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicated that the proportion of
couples aged 45 49 years who were childless increased with higher level of educational attainment.
The statistics highlighted that the highest proportion of childless married couples were among
those with a bachelor degree or higher (20%), compared with 12% of those with an undergraduate
or associate diploma. Couples with no post school qualifications had the lowest level of
childlessness (9%). It is seen that the delaying of child

  • 2. Psychological Manipulation Psychological manipulation is a type of social influence that aims to change the behavior or perception of others through abusive, deceptive, or underhanded tactics by advancing the interests of the manipulator, often at another s expense, such methods could be considered exploitative, abusive, devious, and deceptive. The process of manipulation involves bringing an unknowing victim under the domination of the manipulator, often using deception, and using the victim to serve their own purposes. Psychological manipulationcan be used by people with great power as well as the common individual to get people to do what they want. First let s list all the types of manipulation. 1.Express a desire to serve (show humility, care, love) they will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a psychologically coercive environment, the victim is forced to adapt in a series of small invisible steps. Each step is sufficiently small that the subject does not notice the changes or identify the coercive nature of the process until much later, if ever. These tactics can be reinforced in a group setting by well intended, but deceived, friends and allies of the victim. (Good cop/Bad cop). This keeps the victim from setting up the ego defenses normally maintained in known adversarial situations. Psychological coercion overcomes the individual s critical thinking abilities and free will apart from any appeal to informed judgment. Victims gradually lose their ability to make independent decisions and exercise informed consent. Their emotional defenses, cognitive processes, values, ideas, attitudes, conduct and ability to reason are undermined, and decisions are no longer through meaningful free choice, rationality, or the inherent merit or value of the ideas or propositions being presented. Coercive psychological systems violate our most fundamental concepts of basic human rights. They violate rights of individuals that are guaranteed by many declarations of principle worldwide. Victims become confused, intimidated and silenced by actions accepted as harmful, such as uncompromising influence, involuntary servitude, and infliction of emotional distress. The victim becomes compliant and brainwashed, Social and emotional isolation. Induced emotional exhaustion, Monopolization of perceptions, Reinterpretation of reality, Degradation/denial of the victim s power, Altered states of consciousness, and the powerful intermittent reward schedule: Occasional indulgences that keep hope alive that the abuse will ... Through creation stories and myths, we can analyze, or have a better understanding of how past civilizations may have looked at life, science, and nature. I will compare the similarities, and point out the differences between the Greek culture, Christian/Jewish, and Iroquois Indian civilizations. How they characterized the primordial, creation, and the gender gap through narrative. This gives us insight to their societies values and beliefs at the time they were written. The Greek civilization suggest the Gender gap as being of a more strategic implication rather than a gender viewpoint. The male having dominance over woman is a theme in Greek mythology, from sons allying with mothers to defeat the fathers, to the rape of Persephone. As Homer and Hesiod describe Hera as being second and subservient to her husband, using trickery to overcome Zeus plans. Although the feminine does play an important role it is one of creation and nurturing. Likewise, in the Genesis story, woman is created from man and is made to give him aid. After they had eaten of the fruit from the tree of good and evil, God was as a parent and correcting, or punishing the children. • 4. My Personal Experience Of Sexuality Education At Avondale... The time at which we are at school is thought to be one of the most critical times of our lives. It is a period in our life in which we start discovering ourselves and our sexualities.School is an institution that is thought to provide enrichment in all aspects, not just academic stimulation but also emotional maturity and psychological development.Sexuality education therefore has become a fundamental aspect of one s learning as it not only enables us to formulate ideas regarding sexual identity and gender but also allows us acknowledge ourselves as sexual beings. It can be argued that sexuality is not the property of the individual and is not a hormonally or biologically given quality (Epstein,O Flynn and Telford, 2003) but rather it is a socially constructed paradigm or notion that permeates almost all aspects of not just schooling but our society, both formally and informally. This notion of sexuality is ever changing and it is made dynamic by particular events in history that change our perspectives and priorities.By using my personal experience of sexuality education at Avondale College and St.Dominic s College,I aim to demonstrate the ever increasing importance of comprehensive sexuality education in New Zealand and show how the current curriculum very successfully promotes heteronormativity but often fails to wholeheartedly acknowledge desire, homosexualtity and teenage pregnancy. This failure to acknowlege key aspects of sexuality in schools has numerous consequences ... Even Lucas said, There was no special effects companies in those days and the studios special effects department had been disbanded. Part of the was because of the expense, and part of it was that the American taste, the culture had gone toward very realistic looking films. (Empire of Dreams) But Lucas was determined and In many cases, the equipment and techniques to realize what Lucas envisioned did not exist yet; they would have to be invented. How have your perceptions about and prior experience with depression, grief and suicide been challenged by the information presented? During my nursing career, I have worked in many high stress areas (ex; labor and delivery, where not every outcome is great, medical surgical unit, where a lot of people would get diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and neurosurgical unit, where I took care of many young individuals affected by glioblasoma multiforme) where my patients were depressed (acute depression) due to their diagnosis and were not sure how to cope with their situation. I did have several suicidal patients, as well. Reflecting on this week s readings, especially on Meghan s pp presentations, I must admit that I have to learn more about different depression and suicide tools that are available. That is going to help me not only in my current practice but also in the future. The Joint Commission (2016) made following recommendations regarding detecting suicide in any type of settings: Review each patient s personal and family medical history for suicide risk factors. Screen all patients for suicide ideation, using a brief, standardized, evidence based screening tool. Review screening questionnaires before the patient leaves the appointment or is discharged. Blackfish, a documentary that sheds light on the dark side of SeaWorld and it s abuse on Tilikum (a killer whale). Similarly, Lolita, an orca whaleat Miami Seaquarium has been living in captivity for forty seven years in poor conditions. Peta brings attention to this matter by making a Free Lolita poster with the celebrity, Adriana de Moura testifying for Lolita as well. The poster displays Adriana in a small white bathtub with bold print above stating, Could you live in a bathtub for 40 years? with a short paragraph at the bottom describing just a few of Lolita s hardships. The ad promotes all ethos, logos and pathos persuasion well enough to make the reader want to learn more about the cause. The ad claims Lolita lives alone in a tiny tank with chemically tested water and is being neglected. This would appeal to an emotional audience invoking sadness and pity for Lolita enough to donate to her release. • 12. Medical Advances Throughout History And History Medical advances throughout history has provided people the safety and comfort of knowing that whatever illness befalls them, there is will be a treatment regimen that will bring relief. Vaccinations has prevented and nearly eliminated many childhood diseases. Maintenance medications provide a way for older adults to manage their chronic medical conditions. But there are some medical conditions that are also chronic, but with no cure available. One such condition is HIV, or human immunodeficiency virus. According to Tortora, HIV is the pathogen causing the loss of immune function that selectively infects helper T cells (545). My goal in this paper is to show the advances modern medicine has achieved in discovering the different ways to combat this disease, whether it is attacking the virus directly or assisting our own body s ability to fight infection. Vaccinations are usually are our first line of defense at preventing diseases. According to Haynes, isolation of potent broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) assist CD8T cell killing of HIV infected cells, have opened new avenues for strategies for HIV vaccine design (39). • 17. The Importance Of Chemical Interaction Kinetics is essentially the study of reaction rates and how they can be affected. Factors such as concentration, pressure, temperature, and enzyme activity, are commonly tested regarding their impact on the rate of a reaction (Khan Academy, 2017). It is important to recognise and understand the components that affect the rate of chemical reactions as this allows control over the reaction process. Chemical reactions progress naturally at different rates. A chemical reactioninvolves the rearrangement of the molecular or ionic structure of substances as they change into other substances by the breaking of bonds in reactants and the formation of bonds in products (Wilbraham, 2002). Collision theory can be used to explain why chemical reactions proceed at different rates. Collision Theory states that atoms, ions and molecules must collide in order for a reaction to proceed and form products (Stubbings, 2017). Thus, the higher frequency of successful collisions, the faster the reaction rate will be. Kinetic theory states that particles of matter are in constant motion thus, kinetic energy is the energy acquired as a result of an object s motion (Wilbraham, 2002). In order for collisions to be successful however the molecules must acquire a minimum amount of kinetic energy called their activation energy and they must collide at a precise orientation. The rate of reaction can be modified with the appropriate knowledge and understandings of the factors affecting the collisions of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, Russian forces near the Baltics outnumber Baltic and NATO forces in the area. Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave between Poland and Lithuania, is the headquarters of Russia s Baltic fleet (Meyer). The desired military end state for the United States is that Russia is incapable or unwilling to invade the Baltics, and the Baltics are assured of this. We are interested in how United States military assets may be brought to bear in order to achieve Baltic security from Russia. We assert that Baltic security may be enhanced by increasing the presence of United States military forces in the Baltics. Russia s center of gravity is their military strength relative to the Baltic States and NATO forces stationed in the area. This center of gravity has the twin critical capabilities of the abilities to invade the Baltic States, and the ability to intimidate and influence the Baltic population. Efficient workforce is as necessary as skilled workforce. Skill and Efficiency are two sides of the same coin. Efficiency mainly contributes towards productivity. The Id is the portion of the brain that is based on a pleasure principle , meaning that this is the part that controls a person s craving and wants. There is also the Ego which is based on the reality principle , meaning this is the section of your brain telling you how it really is and saying you can t have something based on the present situation. Lastly, there is the Superego which is based on moral principle , meaning that you can t have something your Id wants because it is morally wrong. Henry Turner was living a fairly normal life, till one day his Id took over and he wanted some cigarettes and when he went to purchase them something unexpected happened. • 38. The Epic Of Alexander Pope s The Rape Of The Lock Mock epic is a narrative poem which aims at mockery and laughter by using almost all the characteristic features of an epic but for a trivial subject. Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock is a famous mock epic. In it, there is invocation to Muses, proposition of subject, battles, supernatural machinery, journey on water, underworld journey, long speeches, feasts (coffee house), Homeric similes and grand style but all for a simple family dispute instead of a national struggle. The grand treatment of a low subject produces hilarious laughter and makes the story more ridiculous. Firstly, Paradise Lost is a long epic poem by John Milton begins with the proposition of justification of God s way to man with nice invocation to the Muses. And another epic poem titled The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser follows the same manner. The subject matters in both of the epic poems are grand. Like the epic poems, the poem The Rape of the Lock opens with the proposition of the subject matter and Pope s invocation to the Muses to help him compose the literary art. Such a grand treatment of a trivial subject matter like the clipping of the lock of Belinda provokes laughter when the poet says: I sing this verse to Caryll, Muse! Thoreau s paper pushes for the people to begin following the will of their conscience rather than blindly and foolishly follow the unjust idea of majority rule . Throughout the paper Thoreau makes a point of stating that majority rule is simply the will of the upper class being forced into action over the rights and wills of the poorer minority. This paper openly criticizes and condemns many institutions and policies of the American National government. Because Thoreau wrote this paper during the Mexican American War he uses in it, in addition to slavery, to reinforce his statement of all political decisions merely being the wills of the strongest citizens put into action. For the purpose of this assignment the paper has been divided into three significant parts, Thoreau did not have these divisions. Euthyphro-Plato Euthyphro s well known impasse pertaining to the characteristic of piety is one of the many dialogues written by the Greek philosopher Plato detailing the pursuit for wisdom by his mentor, Socrates. This well known impasse regarding the nature of piety presents the question of whether or not piety is an act or thing loved by the gods? Regardless if an act is considered right or wrong, the truth or a lie, just or unjust, and holy or unholy, all are the basis of contentious debates difficult within society. Euthyphro believes that for a man to be holy to the gods, he must act accordingly, and do what is pleasing to the gods. Taking care of the gods is doing service for the gods. This definition seems to lead to the idea that prayer and sacrifice will get a person what he or she wants as long as it is considered holy by the gods. This explanation indicates that either the gods recognize holy things and love them because they are holy, or the gods love these things that they are holy. It is only because the gods love these things that they are holy. For why would we need the gods if things are holy and unholy independently of them? Socrates wanted to know the definition of piety and was not asking for an example of it. As the conversation between Euthyphro and Socrates progressed it seems that there was no final definition given. The dialogue ends without thoroughly explaining anything about a real definition, and leaving Euthyphro frustrated and perplexed by Socrates responses. The dialogue concludes without a real definition of holiness. Socrates indicated that each person has his or her own interpretation. I believe that another main message of this dialogue left by Socrates is that no one, including himself can know everything about anything, and that there will always be more to learn. People should strive to make their own conclusions, thinking for themselves, and viewing issues from many angles. Personally, my definition of piety is maintaining good moral ... In both cases, though, unsustainable boom times led to devastating crashes with profound cultural consequences. In the 1920s, it had been a bubble in stocks that brought easy prosperity, while in our own time the bubble had been in the housing market. However, this is now being challenged by some married couples as there is an increasing rate of married couples choosing to remain childless. The traditional definition of a family is defined as a man and a woman living together with child /children. However, a new familytype has emerged, such as voluntary childless couples. In this family type the couple is married and is fully capable of biological reproduction, but have no intention of doing so. Thus, voluntary childlessness among a married couple exists for a number of reasons: due to achieving a higher level of educational attainment, so as to pursue a higher standard of living and fear that children will potentially cause an unhappy marriage. Because of achieving a higher level of educational attainment, some married couples choose to remain childless. The household childlessness rate is strongly linked to married couples with high educational level. For example, the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicated that the proportion of couples aged 45 49 years who were childless increased with higher level of educational attainment. The statistics highlighted that the highest proportion of childless married couples were among those with a bachelor degree or higher (20%), compared with 12% of those with an undergraduate or associate diploma. However, even if it agrees on the potential underestimation or overestimation of the disease, respectively in young and elderly, linked to the use of this method, the current unavailability reliable estimates of the distribution of the ratio valuesFEV1 / FVC in the various age groups, it blocks a diagnosis based on values below the 5th percentile of the Distribution FEV1 / FVC in the reference population, so far the 5th percentile was chosen by convention as the limitless of normal ... Metamaterials offer the potential to create superlenses Such a lens could allow imaging below the diffraction limit that is the minimum resolution that can be achieved by conventional glass lenses A form of invisibility was demonstrated using gradient index materials Acoustic and seismic metamaterial DUAL MODE MINITIARIZED ELLIPTICAL PATCH ANTENNA WITH Вµ NEGATIVE METAMATERIAL PAI YEN CHEN et al [1] It is used to achieve significant bandwidth enchancement, in principle overcoming the Chu limit on bandwidth for single mode electrically small antenna. The antenna may also be tailored to operate as a dual band electrically small antenna and intriguing polasrization properties may be envisioned by coupling the two orthogonal mode. The antenna consists of a metallic patch loaded by a grounded Inhomogeneous substrate with thickness consisting of a rectangular DPS dielectric shell with permittivity and permeability and a magnetic material core. Metamaterial based antenna do not explicitly depend on frequency, passivity and kramers kronig relation imply that required negative permeability varies with frequency. This in turn implies that these subwavelength device have limited bandwidth consistent with general limit. DUAL BAND OPERATION PAI YEN CHEN et al[1] The possibility offered by the elliptical geometry to operate as a dual band antenna with resonance at design frequency fo=0.4 GHZ and fe=0.6GHZ,fo and fe ...
