Essays About America
Crafting an essay on the theme of "Essays About America" presents a multifaceted challenge.
The difficulty lies not only in the broad scope of the subject but also in navigating the diverse
perspectives, historical events, cultural nuances, and contemporary issues that define the
American experience. One must grapple with the sheer magnitude of information available,
ranging from the founding ideals to the complexities of the present day.
Attempting to encapsulate the essence of America within the confines of an essay demands a
delicate balance between depth and brevity. The struggle to capture the nation's identity, values,
and evolution over time can be both intellectually stimulating and daunting. There's a constant
tension between providing a comprehensive overview and delving into specific aspects that
illuminate the intricacies of the American story.
Moreover, the dynamic nature of America's narrative introduces the challenge of staying current
with ongoing events and societal shifts. This requires not only a historical perspective but also a
keen awareness of the contemporary issues shaping the nation. Juggling the past and present
while maintaining a coherent narrative adds an additional layer of complexity to the essay-
writing process.
Furthermore, the diversity of viewpoints on what constitutes the essence of America introduces
the challenge of presenting a fair and nuanced portrayal. Balancing patriotism with critical
analysis is a tightrope walk, as writers must navigate through conflicting perspectives without
oversimplifying or romanticizing the nation's complexities.
In conclusion, composing an essay on "Essays About America" demands a thoughtful and skillful
approach, requiring the writer to navigate through a vast landscape of historical events, cultural
nuances, and contemporary issues. It's a task that calls for a nuanced understanding, careful
selection of themes, and the ability to synthesize diverse perspectives into a cohesive narrative.

Essay On Property Tax
The XYZ report projects that by XYZ, xyz of the world would live in an urban
area one in every XYZ Americans would live in an urban area. The population of
Americans that live in urban areas (add definition) has risen from XX in 20xx to
YY in 20yy. ( removed HTML ) As of 2008, America s local governments spent
about one eighth of USA s national gross domestic product (GDP), one fourth of total
government spending, and employ over 14 million people (Glaeser).
As of 2011, there are 89,000 local governments, 13,000 school districts and 37,381
special districts. A local body relies on three major sources of revenue property tax,
intergovernmental transfers and user charges or fees. Property tax accounts for one of

They attribute the sharp decline between 1977 and 1985 to the various tax limitations
introduced in several states at the time. A detailed analysis by quintiles also revealed
a significant stickiness in the share of property tax values.
Property Tax: A theoretical model
Factor mobility is a key factor for local bodies. Charles Tiebout in his seminal 1956
article put forth a model where local bodies compete in the provision of public
services. He considers a city resident who wishes to move to the suburbs, a consumer
voter , who selects a community that best reflects and satisfies his preferences for
public goods. Given that local governments have set patterns of expenditure and
revenue, the greater the number of local governments, the closer the consumer voter
may find his preferences represented.
Tiebout s model is based on the following assumptions: perfect mobility of consumer
voters; their perfect knowledge of differences between revenue and expenditure
patterns and the ability to react to these differences; many communities to choose
from in which to live; no employment restrictions as all consumer voters live on
dividend income and no external economies or diseconomies in the provision of
public goods between communities. Additionally, he also defines an optimum level
of community services i.e. the number of residents for whom the bundle of services
can be produced at the lowest average cost. The relevance of this assumption
Business Intelligence Tools
We live in a day and age where Business Intelligence (BI) tools are becoming a
standard for businesses. In the past, decision makers gathered data from thick paper
reports, long presentations, and other inefficient tools. However, with rapid
advancements in technology, especially in the field of Information Systems,
decision makers need more sophisticated and efficient tools to make sense of their
businesses. Analytical tools are very useful because they allow decision makers to
make decisions at every level of business. We are getting to the point where these
tools are critical for a firm s advancement and competition. One cannot discuss
dashboards without first mentioning the magnitude of today s data. The data is so
complex and enormous that it takes so much effort to clean it up before doing
anything with it. Data must be scrubbed, checked for redundancy, inconsistency,
irrelevance, and finally consolidated. These processes are not a joke; each of them
take a significant amount of effort and time. Many BI tools have automated some of
these processes. The next step is taking the consolidated data and inputting it into a
system to create some sort of meaning. This is quite an obstacle because even if the
data can be analyzed and trends identified, it is difficult to convey trends in a
meaningful manner ( Oracle International Corporation ). Research shows that humans
retain more information when it is provided in a graphical format than when the
information is
Mr Brooks Psychological Analysis
For this week s essay I decided to watch and write about the movie Mr. Brooks. Mr.
Brooks ,(Earl) has an alter ego named Marshall. Earl tries to ignore Marshall but
fails nearly every time until he slips and gets back into his old habits.
Mr. Brooks is classified under being a psychopath. He has a superficial charm, and
lack of guilt. His psychopathic traits include his logical thinking, planning everything
ahead so he does not make any mistakes while he is committing a murder. He has
created a business and has stuck by it for twenty or more years, has a family. A wife
and a teenage daughter. Mr. Brooks can be seen as a serial killer. He has never been
caught in the years during his killing sprees, he stopped killing for two years while he

Brooks is a visionary killer. His alter ego, Marshall controls him by keeping him
calm while telling him to commit the murders. Marshall is a figment of his
imagination in which he sees another person acting as the ego which would loosely
relate to the ID ego of the unconscious. Marshall tells him to keep going and is
strongly encouraging Mr. Brooks goes along with murdering random people. He
does not have a set type of person he kills. In the movie this guy caught Mr. Brooks
murdering two people and blackmailed him to teach him how to kill, and Mr. Brooks
made the deal with Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith and Mr. Brooks was driving one night
finding someone to kill and they settled on a truck that cut them off.
While there are many killers that are alike in the actions and characteristics of their
personalities, I found one killer that relates to Mr. Brooks, he goes by Son of Sam.
Son of Sam (David Berkowtitz) killed many people in his time. He started off with
a different method of killing until he found the one he liked most, which is the .44
caliber. Just like Mr. Brooks he had gone through different ways to kill until they
found one and stuck to it. In 1977 he was taken into custody from shooting eight
people. David confessed he had killed the people, but was obeying orders from a

Relationships in the House of Spirits
This essay will be going through the different types of love, and the power that
they wield. Throughout the novel, different characters hold different powers of
love. First, Clara s love towards Ferula and Pedro Segundo will be discussed. And
second, Esteban s obsessiveness with Clara will be looked at closer. The bonds of love
are stronger in relationships that aren t acceptable compared to relationships that are
acceptable in society. Clara possesses two different types of loves that are portrayed
very strong within this novel for; Ferula Trueba, and Pedro Segundo. The
relationships for these people were not acceptable within this society. Clara s
relationship with Ferula is very strong, it is more of a friendship relationship, then it...

Not only did he become lonely because of Clara leaving, but also because everyone
had left. No one he cared for was around anymore. Overall, Esteban needed to hold
his frustration to himself, and not take it out on others. If he had done that, it
could ve saved a lot of relationships for himself. It could ve saved his relationship
with Clara, Ferula and also his daughter since she had left with Clara. Some may
say, that Clara also had romantic feelings towards Ferula, because of always being
with Ferula instead of Esteban, however this is not true, only Ferula had romantic
feelings for Clara. Ferula was the one who went to the church to confess her
feelings for Clara, I can t sleep at night... Sometimes I tiptoe in and watch her while
she sleeps. She looks like an angel. I want to climb into bed with her and feel the
warmth of her skin and her gentle breathing. (Allende 99) It may seem that both
Clara and Ferula shared the same feelings, especially after Ferula died, and Clara
took care of her instead of Ferula taking care of
Freud And A Midsummer Night s Dream
William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, takes the audience on a wild
and confusing ride through the human unconscious. From the play within the play, to
fairies causing mayhem, what is to be considered reality? The notion of falling
asleep and dreaming is introduced over and over in the play, and leaves the audience
wondering, is any of this real? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to explain the
parallels between Shakespeare s work, A Midsummer Night s Dream, and the work of
the Austrian neurologist, Sigmund Freud, whose most popular work is that of dreams
and dream interpretations. The interpretation of dreams... is the royal road to a
knowledge of the part the unconscious plays in the mental life (Freud). Shakespeare
is actually the inventor of what we refer to as Freudian psychology, and we see this
at work in A Midsummer Night s Dream, as well as his other plays. Sigmund Freud
was a neurologist who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanity has searched for their significance and meanings, from the Old Testament
dreams of Pharaoh and of Jacob s dream of the ladder, to the ancient Egyptians and
Greeks as being messages from the gods. These vivid images that arise in the
unconscious mind contain elements of our personal identity, segments of our daily
lives, as well as the bizarre. About three hundred years prior to Freud s work on the
subconscious, we see that Shakespeare, as evidenced in A Midsummer Night s
Dream, seemingly had a good grasp on the importance dreams played in our lives.
The entire play seems like one long dream, and this causes the audience to question
the reality of the play. The sense of time also lends to this notion, as it seems to be
missing from the play. At times, just like dreams in real life, the audience is dropped
into the middle of the action without any direction as to what is happening, or the
events that led to where they
Suicide In Antigone
In Sophocles play, Antigone, suicide and death are major themes in the plot and
they make Sophocles work interesting and unique. While in today s society, suicide
is typically looked down as weak and a way to run away from problems the main
character, Antigone commits suicide as a way to defend her honor and faith. This
woman is the daughter of King Oedipusand Queen Jocasta, who string from
Sophoclesfirst Greek tragedy, Oedipus Rex. The play begins with Antigones lament
as she cannot give her brother a proper burial. Out of desperation, she breaks the law
of the king and buries him, eventually committing suicide in order to escape
execution by the Theban king, Creon. She does this as a way of defy the kings rule
and to bring justice to her brother. With her death, Antigone ultimately causes chaos

She had a deep connection with her dead brother Polyneices, who was killed in
battle for control of Thebes. When the new Theban king, Creon proclaimed that
her brother was a traitor, he banned his rights to be buried, having his body rot on
the ground. This deeply upset Antigone because she truly believed that he wouldn
t be able to move on in the afterlife if he wasn t buried. Her quote from the play
shows her grief and foreshadows her suicide. I urge no more; nay, wert thou
willing still, I would not welcome such a fellowship. Go thine own way; myself
will bury him. How sweet to die in such employ, to rest, Sister and brother linked in
love s embrace A sinless sinner, banned awhile on earth, but by the dead
commended; and with them I shall abide forever. As for thee, Scorn, if thou wilt, the
eternal laws of Heaven (69 76) Antigone only had only one rational choice in her
mind; bury Polyneices, or let him suffer eternally. With that in mind, there was only
one thing she could do; defy the kind and give her brother a proper send off, despite
the harsh punishments that would

Among the most avant garde of Manhattan properties is the storied Hotel Chelsea,
aka the Chelsea Hotel or simply the Chelsea. The 12 storied red brick ironwork 250

of New York s steamiest history and hosted some pretty notable residents from
groundbreakers and rule makers to the great, the good, the famous, and the
infamous. Built between 1883 and 1885 and owned by a consortium of 10 wealthy
families, the Chelsea was New York s first co op apartment complex. The tallest
buidling in New York during its day, it became a hotel in 1905, a designated NYC

Personal Learning Management
Personal learning management The software application is being added a new
functionality it is supposed to enter, store and recall a valuable item of learning. At
this level then, it is necessary to examine the iteration control structure and the final
aim is that of classifying the learning item into one of the three categories: High
value Significant value, and Limited value. The first step in attaining the desired
objective is that of launching the application and attesting the compatibility
between the already existent data and the data to be introduced. It is then
necessary to introduce the data and to store it, making it easily accessible for
future usage. At a more detailed level, the steps to be followed refer to the
following: Launching of the application Testing the compatibility between the
application and the data used Assessing the new data in light of the data already
contained by the application Integrating the new data in the necessary group, string
etc. Identifying the features of the new data Identifying the features of the already
existent groups If applicable, integrating the new data in one of the already existent
groups If the new data cannot be integrated in an already existent group, then a new

Albert Einstein Essay
Albert Einstein is looked at as one of the most magnificent scientific thinkers
throughout history. His theories on the nature and dimensions of time and space
immensely changed the way people thought of the physical world and established
many of the major fundamental foundations for a tremendous amount of the our
scientific discoveries and inventions in the 21st century. Albert Einsteinwas born on
March 14, 1879 in WГјrttemberg, Germany, into a middle class Jewish family that
owned a small electrical equipment manufacturing shop. Einstein showed early
signed of genius even though he did not talk until the age of three. Six weeks after
he was born, his family moved to Munich; there he began school a few years later at

Throughout his two years of attendance, Einstein could only find random odd jobs,
nothing that was steady and reliable. All during this time, Einstein had begun to
fall in love with one of his fellow students. Her name was Mileva Maric, and
unfortunately, his parents strongly disliked and opposed of their affair. Einstein
was not only lacking in his family s support, but also in financial stability, which
prevented him from marrying Mileva. The couple proceeded with their
relationship, and had an illegitimate child together. Mileva Maric gave birth to
Einstein s daughter, Lieseri, early in the year of 1902. As time passed and a lot of
patience exhausted, Einstein finally got the occupation of a clerical worker at the
Swiss patent office in Bern. Once achieving financial stability to the best of his
abilities at the time, he married Mileva Maric in 1903. They later went on to
conceive two more children together, one of which was named Hans Albert whom
was born a year after their marriage in 1904, and Eduard whom was not born until
seven years later int the year 1910. Einstein began his writings that carried out
through a progression of only a few months. He wrote a total of four highly
intellectual and groundbreaking articles all while working at the Swiss patent office
in 1905. This is were majority of his most creative and scientific work of his life
were comprised. The first article delved into the application of the quantum theory to

Comparison Of The Maltese Falcon And Citizen Kane
Two of the first film noir pieces, The Maltese Falcon and Citizen Kane, share many
similarities in structure and style. Their biggest similarities are the plant and
payoff technique, and meaningless quests the main characters embark upon. In
The Maltese Falcon, a detective, Sam Spade, is tasked with finding a golden
falcon by Brigid O Shaunessy. He is not told of the falcon until Brigid s former
partner, Joel Cairo, offers to pay Spade for the falcon. Consequently, Spade
discovers Brigid is lying to him about her identity, having originally given an
alternate name. All the while, Spade doesn t know the falcon s location until a
ship captain comes into Spade s office and dies, holding the falcon. This leads to
Spade bargaining for the falcon, after which, the falcon is finally unwrapped, and
discovered to be fake. The film concludes with Cairo setting off to try and track
down the real falcon, and Spade left alone without the money he was promised for
it. However, in Citizen Kane, the film starts off with Charles Kane dying on the
floor of his mansion, saying rosebud. Then the film cuts to a newsreel about Kane s
life, which is dismissed as too impersonal. Subsequently, a reporter, Thompson, is
sent to discover rosebud . Throughout the movie, Kane s acquaintances tell
Thompson about his life, few mentioning rosebud. Finally, the movie ends in Kane s
mansion, reporters cataloguing all of Kane s possessions. Thompson is asked by
fellow reporters if he ever discovered the

Viable Vision:
Baby Justice Cannot Hear
After birth, infants jump immense milestones in terms of development. The first few
weeks of a child s life mark pertinent milestones of both perceptual and motor
development. One important aspect of perceptual development is hearing which is
fairly well developed immediately at birth. Although infants are initially slightly hard
of hearing, they show sensitivity to sound, music, rhythm and melody. By just 4 to 6
months, children with regular hearing are able to localize noises and listen to sound
(Robert Siegler, 2011). Hearing is an intricate process in which external stimuli such
as sound is converted to the vibrational energy by the earcanal and eardrum and then
to electrical pulses presented to the brain by various hearing nerves (Robert Siegler,
2011). The brain analyzes these electrical impulses into the sensation of hearing
(Robert Siegler, 2011). Damage to the cochlear implant results in sensory neural
hearing loss indicating that the ear has trouble translating sound waves into signals
that can be analyzed by the brain (Robert Siegler, 2011). Justice s wildcard of
limited hearing in her left ear will surely affect and delay the first few perceptual and
motor milestones of her infancy.
The fact that Justice was born a month early likely had something to do with her
hearing difficulties. Justice, being born 34 weeks after conception, thankfully did
not miss the critical period for proper ear development as the ears are fully developed
in the fetus by 16 weeks
Compare And Contrast Xbox Vs Playbox
Play Station is better than Xbox. PlayStation has always been the best selling
console. Even the original ps1 sold more the Xbox one ever did. All 4 PlayStations
are ranked in the top 10 most sold consoles of all time. The ps2 was even the most
sold console of all time with 158 million sales.
Another reason that PlayStation is better is that it has better graphics. The ps1,2,and
3 all had better graphics than the Xbox and Xbox 360. The ps4 and ps4 pro both play
in 5.0 GHz while the Xbox one plays in 2.1. The ps4 also has the 4k VR headset
that plays in 120Hz. The Xbox one had to have 4 different models to have better
graphics than the ps4.
PlayStation has more sales so that means more people to play online with or the more

to get to their classes, they don t need you stagnant, in their way having a

please don t stop right in front of me when I m walking. I might run you over on

entertained by that? And depending on the amount of times you make me repeat
myself, I might think it funny to not hear you when you ask for a favor or what

The Benefits of Social Security
Social security is any government system that provides monetary assistance to
people with an inadequate or no income. The United States government program
was established in 1935. Social security is important in the U.S. because it lifts 20
million people out of poverty. Social security has changed drastically in the past few
years of our society. Today, 37 million people get social security
benefits of more than
$15 billion a month.
One way of getting a social security is to gain employment. The law requires every
employer to give social security counterparts for their employees, is they qualify.
There are proven benefits of having a Social Security membership. It aids in
protection during retirement age, which is often a time of lowered income and
benefits. Social Security also helps during cases of permanent or temporary
disability. In case of death of the principal member, burial assistance will be
tendered for the grieving family. When loss of the principal member occurs,
children aging from 18 and below will get subsidy from the government for their
educational needs and sustenance. The living spouse will also receive monthly
pensions. Furthermore, in cases of emergencies like hospitalization due to sickness
or accidents, the policy is applicable. If you are also in dire need of additional
amount because of poverty it can help too.
More and more talk recently about the fact that Social Security is on the fast decline
has left many people, especially those around the

The Importance of the Printing Press to the Development of the Reformation
Both contemporaries and historians acknowledge that the printing press was
significant in the spread of ideas of the Reformation.
It has been argued by Elizabeth Eisenstein that printing did not just spread Protestant
ideas but helped to shape the Reformation in the first place Printing was a cause of
religious changes, and not simply a consequence (The Printing Press as an agent of
change, CambridgeUniversityPress)
Printing ended the scribal corruption and copying errors which made it easier to
define theological positions exactly and made it easier for Luther to attack the
corruption of the Doctrine.

The Church had faced heresy before and had generally contained it slowly but surely,
but now it seemed defenseless. The printing press gave it no time.
We can see the effect the printing press had on the rate of literacy, in the 60 years
since printing had been invented, literacy had grown 20 percent in towns.
Although there were some Catholics writing to Luther, they were outnumbered
twenty to one by those writing in favor of him. All could have been different if
Luther didn t use to such great effect as he did, he used the press as a weapon in
personal contests with his opponents.
In the early years of the reformation, the Lutherans won the battle of the books hands
down. Through the press Luther could also give shape to the services and methods of
the new, emerging Church. He was able to publish Hymns and an authentically
Lutheran version of Mass.
Luther himself recognised his indebtedness to the press, proclaiming that printing is:
God s highest and extremist act of Grace, whereby the business of the gospel is
driven forward.
Although Printing did not ensure Luther s total control over the Reformation. The
press could spread the ideas of one man more quickly and certainly than ever before.
John Foxe, writing in the 1560 s paid homage to the power of the Press in spreading

The Ethics Of Gene Therapy
Over 70,000 people worldwide have cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that causes a
buildup in mucus, difficulty breathing, and damage to the lungs (Cystic Fibrosis,
n.d.). Currently, there is no cure, but treatments such as gene therapy may help
those who have the disease (Gene Therapy, n.d.). Gene therapy is a method of
treating genetic diseases in which a vector such as a virus delivers the genes to
target cells. This causes the expression of a person s genes to change (Hanna, 2006).
Somatic cells or germline cells can be treated (GeneTherapy, n.d.). Gene transfer to
somatic cells changes the recipient s genome (Hanna, 2006). Somatic gene therapyis
likely to be a successful way to treat diseases caused by a single mutation (Gene

ease the suffering of those who have them. Germline gene therapy, on the other hand,
remains an ethical issue. Some say that it could eliminate genetic diseases altogether

However, because Prince never learns a new language, and only uses his language,
he is never able to connect with humans, proving that his language is fairly
ineffective. And, because Prince never learns English, and thus never bonds with
humans through the use of language, he is often picked over. Specifically, when

Voluntourism In America
Voluntourism is a form of tourism, which travelers do voluntary work for a charity.
Voluntourism, which has become more popular in the recent past, started with good
intentions of white westerners spreading their knowledge and resources. Some forms
of voluntourism have helped communities, but not in orphanages. The good idea has
transformed into a conscious clearing photo op that s permanently affecting orphans

orphanages making them appear better than lives at home, causing parents to

To solve this issue, we need to protect the orphans. We need to stop letting orphanages
be treated like daycare, need better background checks and training for volunteers,
and stop letting inhumane behaviors happen in our orphanages. Orphanages need
more funding, better trained volunteers and better resources. Orphans have been
through alot and are resilient, but we need to protect orphans around the world,
giving them the closest thing we can to their families. With good volunteers, we can
change these kids lives and get them into the lives they deserve. Children are
amazingly resilient... we find that if we get them out of institutions and into loving
families early on, they recover their developmental delays and go on to lead normal
happy lives.
Tony Stark Research Paper
You can take my suits away, you can take my home away, but there s one thing you
can never take from me. I am Iron Man. You wouldn t expect a quote like this from
someone who has all the money in the world, would you? Tony Stark was determined
genius who used his wealth for the better of mankind.
Tony Stark was a genius who used his intellect for the good of mankind through his
Iron Man suit. Even from a young age, Tony showed signs of being a child genius
or prodigy. When he was just 12 years old he built a car engine in his garage. Then
when he was 18 years old he graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering. He carried his ingenious
brain and ideas in his adulthood by taking over his dad s weapons company and
quickly becoming a household name in the weapons industry. But where he was
really able to show off his intelligence was when he was held captive in a cave in
Afghanistan by terrorist and asked to build a weapon of mass destruction. With the
little resources he was given to work with, Tony was able to build a high tech iron
suit. When he put the suit into action for the first time, he was able to knock out part
of a terrorist group that was holding him captive and escape. ... Show more content on

Aggregate Supply Curve
AGGREGATE DEMAND, AGGREGATE SUPPLY, FISCAL
AND MONETARYPOLICY
Q No 1. Explain why the Aggregate Supply curve is upward sloping in the short run
and vertical in the long run?
Aggregate supply is the total supply of goods and services produced by any firm in a
country for economic plan and sell these goods and services during a year. These
goods and services are willing to sell at a given price by firms.
Short Run Aggregate Supply Curve
In short run, the aggregate supply curve will go upward because there are two main
reasons due to which quantity supplied increases with the increase in price.
Firstly, the curve is used for nominal variable like wage rate and in short run, the
nominal wage rate is fixed which resulted in higher profits that give expansion in the
output. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When demand is at low level, large number of production does not use their fixed
capital equipment then the result will be increase in production without diminishing
returns. So average price level does not increase but production increases. When
demand is increased, the prices will increase which results in a steep curve.
Long Run in Aggregate Supply Curve
In long run, aggregate supply is affected from capital, labor and technology because
everything is assumed to be used optimally at this point. In long run, aggregate supply
curve is perfectly vertical which economists belief that changes in aggregate demand
is the only reason of temporary change in total output. In long run, only one quantity
will be supplied and wage rate varies with economic conditions i.e. high
unemployment leads to fall in nominal wage rate and vice
Moralism In The Interlopers
Saki, in The Interlopers, says that because our family plays an important role in
who we are, we choose to see only evil in our enemies for the sake of our kin, our
blood, until the threat of death opens us to more options. We choose to imitate
certain individuals whose beliefs we associate with more than others. More likely
than not, the individuals we choose to imitate are our close relatives; they often
have a bigger impact on our mentality than someone merely acquainted with us.
Because we are raised with them frequently present in our lives, we tend to inherit
the same qualities and interests, allies and enemies. Ulrich Van Gradwitz and
Georg Znaeym were brought up by separate families who share a long series of
poaching affrays and similar scandals [that] had embittered the relationships
between the families for three generations, (Saki 6). The way they choose to view
each other Georg as a petty forest thief and game snatcher (8), and Ulrich as a
greedy landowner is not a result of one s wrongdoing against the other, but rather an
ongoing hatred for each other s families. Instead of burying the old quarrel alongside
their grandfathers, certain individuals in their families chose to continue it, and now,
Ulrich had come to be head of his familyand Georg Znaeym, the inheritor of the
quarrel, (7 emphasis added). Like their family members before them, Ulrich and
Georg choose to continue the feud because neither is willing to denounce their family

Effective communication can be considered an art as much as a science. There are of

The number of different theories serves as evidence of the level of complexity that is
inherent in the concept of leadership. Despite this complexity, virtually every
leadership model states that effective communication is among the most important
success factors. This analysis will select different leadership models and compare and

Transformational leadership has been called one of the most effective among the

Kant And Transcendental Anthropology
Moving on from Descartes dualistic understanding of the human being who belongs
to two worlds; the world of moral freedom and of natural necessity. Kant made a
distinction between the physiological and pragmatic aspects of anthropology. The
former studies what nature makes of the human being, while the latter study concerns
itself with what the humanbeing can do, as a freely acting being, or what the human
being should make of itself. Kant was the first to lecture on anthropology in the
European academic world, and with that provided a return to the conception of man
as a living whole. Kant notes that the human being is a social being and criticizes the
account of Descartes that the human being is, as he calls it, a logical egoist . In...

When the processes mentioned above are identified, one can question whether, for
example in the field of aesthetics, something is beautiful, and whether this judgment
is justified. Therefore, questions such as is this a good reason for people to think that
art is beautiful? arises within Kant s notion of transcendental anthropology.
Furthermore, along with the from within, and normative perspective on the human
being, transcendental anthropology makes use of a unique style of argument. The
transcendental argument in Kant s Critique of Pure Reason advance from some given
to the conditions of the possibility of that given. Thus the Critique of Pure Reason is
an continued argument exploring the conditions of possibility of empirical cognition;
of what the human being can know. As someone who experiences the world,
someone can think about what must be the case for experience to be possible. Kant
argues that in order for humans to have any kind of experience that the human being
has, the world must contain substances, laws of causality, and other features.
Furthermore, Kant argues that the human cognition of these substances, laws, and
features must be limited in various

Seeing Through Our Tongue: The Liminal Nature Of Language
Introduction
One universal aspect of the human condition is communication. Finding some way to
convey the abstract concepts of our minds in such a way they can be understood by
others is a fundamental necessity of being a human in culture as we understand it. It
is with this understanding that the question has been asked; if language is the medium
through which our perceptions are channeled, how much are our perceptions
distorted by language? How much is our language distorted by our perceptions? Is
this relationship something that could be manipulated, and how effective would it
be? Thankfully, these are questions that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This paragraph is largely going to be pulling from examples, like Does Gender Fair

subconscious decisions various cultures and languages have taken towards proposed
changes.
This paragraph deals mostly with Within or Outside. In it, most of the discussion is
used to show that language and culture naturally evolve both with each other and
independently of each other. Using a clever segue that I m sure I ll come up with, it
rounds out by suggesting that intentional change would be worth exploring.
Which leads to this paragraph, discussing mostly existing attempts towards changing
languages in contemporary settings, and analyzing the cause, effects, and progression
gained by these methods.
Stereotyping In Sports
Highly hyped teams will often have shorter odds mainly due to the fact so many
people are betting on them, but if you are a veteran gambler, you will know that
the odds a bookie gives and the hype surrounding a team is not a key indicator of
success. Here are five questions you should ask yourself prior to placing mobile
betting soccer bets on hyped teams (especially if you are planning to stake a lot of
money).
Spend Some Time Watching Their Older Matches
You can often pull up older soccer games on the Internet. It is worth having a watch
to see how well they fair. Is the hype justified based on their in game play? When you
watch their matches, are you seeing things that justify the hype the team are
receiving? Remember that some teams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

dangerous shots from the opposing team to quash their moral and enthusiasm. The
hyped team may have been expecting an easier game than the one they are getting. If
you see the opposing team continue to apply pressure, you could do worse than
place an in play bet on the opposing team.
Question 5 Is The Opposing Team Overdue A Dramatic Win?
If you watch a lot of team sports, be it basketball, hockey, rugby, football, or
whatever, you will notice that some teams seem to pull off dramatic comebacks when
nobody expects them.
A team can start with pre season games and start their season with a terrible run, and
then out of nowhere they suddenly start winning relentlessly. Do not underestimate
the potential of the opposing team because of their track record. In addition, do not
underestimate them because the hyped team is drawing all the attention. As a long
time soccer watcher, you should know that some teams can suddenly become
fantastic overnight. It even happens in games sometimes. There are times when a
team is a mess on the pitch, and then suddenly pulls it together for no

The tropical fruit has emerged as a hot trend, with its nutritional components being
promoted for health or fitness reasons. Coconut water is advertised as a refreshing,
electrolyte rich beverage suitable for replacing sports drinks. Not to be confused with
the far richer coconut milk, coconut water is a clear liquid extracted from very young
green coconuts. It s billed as nature s sports drink because like Gatorade and other
energy drinks, it contains water for rehydration, carbohydrates in the form of sugar
for energy, and electrolytes to replace what s lost through sweat.
In most cases, the best way to restore your body s fluids and electrolytes after
exercise is simply with water and food, particularly fruit. In cases of severe exertion
or illness, however, a quick electrolyte boost may be necessary. For those reluctant to
consume sports drinks with all their added colors, flavors, sweeteners and

Homicide By Martin Daly And Margo Wilson
The Origins of Human Sexuality
In their book Homicide, Martin Daly and Margo Wilson put forth a theory that
challenges human societies common notion of human sexuality. They do this in an
attempt to bring about a better understanding of homicide and male aggressiveness.
According to Daly and Wilson, males instigate the overwhelming majority of
dangerous altercations and they contend that this is due to status competition. Status
competition is the idea that males must aggressively compete for sexual access to
females in order to pass on their genes.
Daily and Wilson cite the work of Charles Darwin, who in 1859 published a famous
work on the theory of natural selection. The concepts presented in his book were later
elaborated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This competition, according to the theory, makes the winners win bigger, and the
losers #8230;more likely to be total losers.
In their discussion of parental investment Daly and Wilson specify three different
types of division. Larger females and smaller males characterize the first category
called polyandry. In polyandrous species we see males making the larger parental
investment, females being more combative, and males tending to out live their female
counterparts. The second category is known as a monogamous breeding system. In
this system the male and female parental investments are identical, the number of
offspring each sex can have is identical and the fitness variances are equal. In
monogamous species the male and female tend to be indistinguishable in that they
are often the same size and carry the same markings. Monogamous species also have
nearly the life expectancy. The final category is known as polygamy. Polygamy is a
system in which the female makes the biggest parental investment. In polygamous
species the male is often larger and more combative than the female and tends to live
a shorter life. According to Daly and Wilson humans best fit into this last group.
According to Daly and Wilson humans are the products of a mild but sustained
polygynous competition.

Essay On The Banking Concept Of Education
When it comes to the topic of education, most of us will readily agree that as
students, we need to be dedicated learners. Where this agreement usually ends,
however, is on the question of how we should be educated. Some are convinced
that we need to stick with what is currently in place. From this perspective, it is
completely unnecessary to do something different if the method being used works.
However, others maintain that we need to change. According to this view, people
need to move away from what we are comfortable and familiar with in order to be
better students. In sum, then, the issue is whether we should keep how our education
works the same or not. My own view is that we need to change the system of
education. Though I concede that sometimes it makes sense to keep what is not
broken, I still maintain that for a better learning experience, we must change.
Although some argue that what is already in place is enough for our education, I
claim that stepping outside of our comfort zone... Show more content on

Freire describes that The banking concept of education, which serves the interests of
oppression, is also necrophilic. Based on a mechanistic, static, naturalistic, spatialized
view of consciousness, it transforms students into receiving objects. It attempts to
control thinking and action, leads women and men to adjust to the world, and inhibits
their creative power (261). According to Freire, the banking concept causes
oppression. Under it, students are nothing more than objects that receive knowledge.
Therefore, it is necrophilic, treating the students as if they were dead and could not
think. I think that the banking concept of education restricts students and what they
are capable of. Rather than actively involving the students, the students are fed
information from the teachers. The goal of education is for the students to actually
learn, and the only way that can be accomplished is through
Japan s Impact On Japan
Introduction: The 2011 Japan Earthquake was one of the most destructive
earthquakes that the area had experienced in centuries. Earthquakes regularly impact
Japan due to the nearby subduction zone under the northwestern Pacific Ocean. This
is where the Pacific and North American tectonic plates meet, which ultimately causes
frequent seismic activity. The 2011 earthquakeis the 5th largest recorded since 1900
worldwide, and is classified as a 9.0 reverse fault mega thrust earthquake (Mantanle
823). What furthered the destructive ability of the earthquake was the upthrust and
subsidence, which generated a series of massive tsunamis that struck the coast of
Honshu. These tsunamis ravaged low lying coastal areas, which led to unmanageable
flooding and the meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear PowerPlant. Japan
relies heavily on nuclear power; therefore this became detrimental to local residents
and industries relying on this power source. Japan has proved itself somewhat
capable to combat biophysical vulnerability with resilience. Japan has employed
numerous structural and non structural measures to minimize losses for future
hazards. Furthermore, Japan is considered to be one of the world s most successful
democracies, and has one of the largest economies. The preparedness of Japan is
what reduces vulnerability and probability of risk for future hazardous events,
specifically earthquakes (Cutter 530). On a local level, the 2011 Japan earthquake is

So instead of establishing a retail store that simply deals with the buying and selling

Early Life
Domitian was born in Rome on October 24, 51, and was the youngest son of Titus
Flavius Vespasianus, commonly known as Vespasian. He had an older sister,
Domitilla the Younger, and brother, also named Titus Flavius Vespasianus. The
Flavians rose to prominence in just four generations, acquiring wealth and status
under the emperors of the Julio Claudian dynasty. Domitian s great grandfather,
Titus Flavius Petro, had served as a centurion under Pompey during Caesar s civil
war. However, his military career ended in disgrace when he fled the battlefield at
the Battle of Pharsalus in 48 BC. Petro managed to improve his status by marrying
the extremely wealthy Tertulla, whose fortune guaranteed the upwards mobility of
Petro s son Titus Flavius Sabinus I, Domitian s grandfather. Sabinus gained further
wealth and possible equestrian status through his services as tax collector in Asia
and banker in Helvetia. By marrying Vespasia Polla he allied the Flavian family to
the more prestigious gens Vespasia, ensuring the elevation of his sons Titus Flavius
Sabinus II and Vespasian to
Descriptive Essay On A Concert
Concert Nights
The feeling was chimerical. Seeing these bands up close was an amazing experience.
This summer I attended two concerts, and just thinking about how those bands were
in the same place as me is just something I will never forget.
I ve been to concerts before, but I ve never seen notorious bands, it was always local
bands. This summer I saw Nickelback and Green Day. I saw Nickelback and Green
Day back to back, and they were both on school nights so I can assure you I was
tired the next morning. Those concerts were the best concerts I have ever been to in
my life.
My mom and I have wanted to see Nickelback for a while so when my mom told
me we were going to witness them in concert I went haywire. I ve wanted to go for
such an enduring time. The concert was primarily scheduled for June 23 but was
sadly cancelled due to flash flooding. I was pretty bummed out, but my mom was
turbulent because she had been waiting for years to go see them in concert and
was scared that the tickets she bought would go to waste. We later found out that
we could still use the tickets, but unfortunately the concert was rescheduled on a
school night, but my mom made it very clear that we were not missing this concert
what so ever. So on August 15 my mom, my two uncles, my mom s friend, and I
headed down to Noblesville. When we got there we pulled into the parking lot and
saw a car with the name Lillian on it, which was to some extent funny as a result of
my mom s other friend was at
Construction Materials Of Hydrated Cement
CE 2020: Construction Materials
Pore Structure in Hydrated Cement
Arjit Soni
ES13B1005
Introduction:
When concrete is prepared cement is mixed with water but the hardened concrete
formed after hydration of cement is not solid mass but a porous material. There is
formation of pores due to extra water then required water for complete hydration
added initially. Water occupies some fraction of the total initial volume and after the
hydration of cement water is held physically, chemically or is adsorbed on product
after hydration. This leads to formation of pore structure inside the hydrated cement.
The properties of concrete are affected by the manner in which the pores of various
sizes are distributed within it. The porosity of concrete along with pore size
distribution determine the performance of such materials in construction
applications. The performance includes the mechanical properties such as strength
and durability properties including the ingress of chloride and sulphate ions. The
total porosity in the system has a noticeable effect on the mechanical properties of
construction materials , whereas the pore size distribution will mainly affect the
durability properties. Concrete with the same total pore volume can exhibit entirely
different properties, depending on pore size that is if it has a small number of large
pores or large number of small pores. Concrete is a porous material and contains pore
structures which are complex and inhomogeneous. The fine and
Children From Five Different Countries Essay
557 children from five different countries (ages 6 10). Researchers gathered
information pertaining to childhood TV violence viewing, identification with
aggressive TV characters, aggressive behavior, parents socioeconomic status
(measured by educational level), parenting practices, and what parents watched on
TV (Huesmann, Moise Titus, Podolski Eron, 2003). The results showed that children
who watched violence on television for many hours while in elementary frequently
were displayed higher aggressionwhen they became teenagers. Huesmann, Moise
Titus, Podolski Eron (2003) also found that participants that viewed a lot of violent
television shows at the age of 8 were more likely to engage in criminal acts that
break the law.
Researchers have found that children who express defiant, aggressive and explosive
behavior by the time they re in kindergarten is the result of the type of relationship
they have with their parents (Stormshak, 2000). Parenting practices seem to have an
influence on children s behavior. There are four styles of parenting but only three
appear to affect and damage a child. The first style is an authoritarian parent. This
type of parent uses forceful measures to try to enforce proper behavior upon their
child which results in the child being angry and resenting them. This form of
parenting leads children to be angry, defiant, and lack motivation. The permissive
parent is loving and often allows their child to do whatever it is they please, however,

Essays About America. Narrative Essay: American history essays

  • 1. Essays About America Crafting an essay on the theme of "Essays About America" presents a multifaceted challenge. The difficulty lies not only in the broad scope of the subject but also in navigating the diverse perspectives, historical events, cultural nuances, and contemporary issues that define the American experience. One must grapple with the sheer magnitude of information available, ranging from the founding ideals to the complexities of the present day. Attempting to encapsulate the essence of America within the confines of an essay demands a delicate balance between depth and brevity. The struggle to capture the nation's identity, values, and evolution over time can be both intellectually stimulating and daunting. There's a constant tension between providing a comprehensive overview and delving into specific aspects that illuminate the intricacies of the American story. Moreover, the dynamic nature of America's narrative introduces the challenge of staying current with ongoing events and societal shifts. This requires not only a historical perspective but also a keen awareness of the contemporary issues shaping the nation. Juggling the past and present while maintaining a coherent narrative adds an additional layer of complexity to the essay- writing process. Furthermore, the diversity of viewpoints on what constitutes the essence of America introduces the challenge of presenting a fair and nuanced portrayal. A detailed analysis by quintiles also revealed a significant stickiness in the share of property tax values. Property Tax: A theoretical model Factor mobility is a key factor for local bodies. Charles Tiebout in his seminal 1956 article put forth a model where local bodies compete in the provision of public services. He considers a city resident who wishes to move to the suburbs, a consumer voter , who selects a community that best reflects and satisfies his preferences for public goods. Given that local governments have set patterns of expenditure and revenue, the greater the number of local governments, the closer the consumer voter may find his preferences represented. Tiebout s model is based on the following assumptions: perfect mobility of consumer voters; their perfect knowledge of differences between revenue and expenditure patterns and the ability to react to these differences; many communities to choose from in which to live; no employment restrictions as all consumer voters live on dividend income and no external economies or diseconomies in the provision of public goods between communities. Additionally, he also defines an optimum level of community services i.e. the number of residents for whom the bundle of services can be produced at the lowest average cost. The relevance of this assumption

In the past, decision makers gathered data from thick paper reports, long presentations, and other inefficient tools. However, with rapid advancements in technology, especially in the field of Information Systems, decision makers need more sophisticated and efficient tools to make sense of their businesses. Analytical tools are very useful because they allow decision makers to make decisions at every level of business. We are getting to the point where these tools are critical for a firm s advancement and competition. One cannot discuss dashboards without first mentioning the magnitude of today s data. The data is so complex and enormous that it takes so much effort to clean it up before doing anything with it. Data must be scrubbed, checked for redundancy, inconsistency, irrelevance, and finally consolidated. These processes are not a joke; each of them take a significant amount of effort and time. Many BI tools have automated some of these processes. The next step is taking the consolidated data and inputting it into a system to create some sort of meaning. This is quite an obstacle because even if the data can be analyzed and trends identified, it is difficult to convey trends in a meaningful manner ( Oracle International Corporation ). Research shows that humans retain more information when it is provided in a graphical format than when the information is

  • 6. Freud And A Midsummer Night s Dream William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, takes the audience on a wild and confusing ride through the human unconscious. From the play within the play, to fairies causing mayhem, what is to be considered reality? The notion of falling asleep and dreaming is introduced over and over in the play, and leaves the audience wondering, is any of this real? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to explain the parallels between Shakespeare s work, A Midsummer Night s Dream, and the work of the Austrian neurologist, Sigmund Freud, whose most popular work is that of dreams and dream interpretations. The interpretation of dreams... is the royal road to a knowledge of the part the unconscious plays in the mental life (Freud). These vivid images that arise in the unconscious mind contain elements of our personal identity, segments of our daily lives, as well as the bizarre. About three hundred years prior to Freud s work on the subconscious, we see that Shakespeare, as evidenced in A Midsummer Night s Dream, seemingly had a good grasp on the importance dreams played in our lives. The entire play seems like one long dream, and this causes the audience to question the reality of the play. The sense of time also lends to this notion, as it seems to be missing from the play. At times, just like dreams in real life, the audience is dropped into the middle of the action without any direction as to what is happening, or the events that led to where they

Their biggest similarities are the plant and payoff technique, and meaningless quests the main characters embark upon. In The Maltese Falcon, a detective, Sam Spade, is tasked with finding a golden falcon by Brigid O Shaunessy. He is not told of the falcon until Brigid s former partner, Joel Cairo, offers to pay Spade for the falcon. All the while, Spade doesn t know the falcon s location until a ship captain comes into Spade s office and dies, holding the falcon. This leads to Spade bargaining for the falcon, after which, the falcon is finally unwrapped, and discovered to be fake. The film concludes with Cairo setting off to try and track down the real falcon, and Spade left alone without the money he was promised for it. However, in Citizen Kane, the film starts off with Charles Kane dying on the floor of his mansion, saying rosebud. Then the film cuts to a newsreel about Kane s life, which is dismissed as too impersonal. Subsequently, a reporter, Thompson, is sent to discover rosebud . • 13. Baby Justice Cannot Hear After birth, infants jump immense milestones in terms of development. The first few weeks of a child s life mark pertinent milestones of both perceptual and motor development. One important aspect of perceptual development is hearing which is fairly well developed immediately at birth. Although infants are initially slightly hard of hearing, they show sensitivity to sound, music, rhythm and melody. By just 4 to 6 months, children with regular hearing are able to localize noises and listen to sound (Robert Siegler, 2011). Hearing is an intricate process in which external stimuli such as sound is converted to the vibrational energy by the earcanal and eardrum and then to electrical pulses presented to the brain by various hearing nerves (Robert Siegler, 2011). The brain analyzes these electrical impulses into the sensation of hearing (Robert Siegler, 2011). Damage to the cochlear implant results in sensory neural hearing loss indicating that the ear has trouble translating sound waves into signals that can be analyzed by the brain (Robert Siegler, 2011). Justice s wildcard of limited hearing in her left ear will surely affect and delay the first few perceptual and motor milestones of her infancy. The fact that Justice was born a month early likely had something to do with her hearing difficulties. Justice, being born 34 weeks after conception, thankfully did not miss the critical period for proper ear development as the ears are fully developed in the fetus by 16 weeks

  • 23. Aggregate Supply Curve AGGREGATE DEMAND, AGGREGATE SUPPLY, FISCAL AND MONETARYPOLICY Q No 1. Explain why the Aggregate Supply curve is upward sloping in the short run and vertical in the long run? Aggregate supply is the total supply of goods and services produced by any firm in a country for economic plan and sell these goods and services during a year. These goods and services are willing to sell at a given price by firms. Short Run Aggregate Supply Curve In short run, the aggregate supply curve will go upward because there are two main reasons due to which quantity supplied increases with the increase in price. Firstly, the curve is used for nominal variable like wage rate and in short run, the nominal wage rate is fixed which resulted in higher profits that give expansion in the output. ... Moralism In The Interlopers Saki, in The Interlopers, says that because our family plays an important role in who we are, we choose to see only evil in our enemies for the sake of our kin, our blood, until the threat of death opens us to more options. We choose to imitate certain individuals whose beliefs we associate with more than others. More likely than not, the individuals we choose to imitate are our close relatives; they often have a bigger impact on our mentality than someone merely acquainted with us. Because we are raised with them frequently present in our lives, we tend to inherit the same qualities and interests, allies and enemies. Ulrich Van Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym were brought up by separate families who share a long series of poaching affrays and similar scandals [that] had embittered the relationships between the families for three generations, (Saki 6). The way they choose to view each other Georg as a petty forest thief and game snatcher (8), and Ulrich as a greedy landowner is not a result of one s wrongdoing against the other, but rather an ongoing hatred for each other s families. Instead of burying the old quarrel alongside their grandfathers, certain individuals in their families chose to continue it, and now, Ulrich had come to be head of his familyand Georg Znaeym, the inheritor of the quarrel, (7 emphasis added). Like their family members before them, Ulrich and Georg choose to continue the feud because neither is willing to denounce their family s name,

Kant made a distinction between the physiological and pragmatic aspects of anthropology. The former studies what nature makes of the human being, while the latter study concerns itself with what the humanbeing can do, as a freely acting being, or what the human being should make of itself. Kant was the first to lecture on anthropology in the European academic world, and with that provided a return to the conception of man as a living whole. In polyandrous species we see males making the larger parental investment, females being more combative, and males tending to out live their female counterparts. The second category is known as a monogamous breeding system. In this system the male and female parental investments are identical, the number of offspring each sex can have is identical and the fitness variances are equal. In monogamous species the male and female tend to be indistinguishable in that they are often the same size and carry the same markings. Monogamous species also have nearly the life expectancy. The final category is known as polygamy. Polygamy is a system in which the female makes the biggest parental investment. In polygamous species the male is often larger and more combative than the female and tends to live a shorter life. According to Daly and Wilson humans best fit into this last group. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of how we should be educated. Some are convinced that we need to stick with what is currently in place. From this perspective, it is completely unnecessary to do something different if the method being used works. However, others maintain that we need to change. According to this view, people need to move away from what we are comfortable and familiar with in order to be better students. In sum, then, the issue is whether we should keep how our education works the same or not. My own view is that we need to change the system of education. Earthquakes regularly impact Japan due to the nearby subduction zone under the northwestern Pacific Ocean. This is where the Pacific and North American tectonic plates meet, which ultimately causes frequent seismic activity. The 2011 earthquakeis the 5th largest recorded since 1900 worldwide, and is classified as a 9.0 reverse fault mega thrust earthquake (Mantanle 823). What furthered the destructive ability of the earthquake was the upthrust and subsidence, which generated a series of massive tsunamis that struck the coast of Honshu. These tsunamis ravaged low lying coastal areas, which led to unmanageable flooding and the meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear PowerPlant. Japan relies heavily on nuclear power; therefore this became detrimental to local residents and industries relying on this power source. Construction Materials Of Hydrated Cement CE 2020: Construction Materials Pore Structure in Hydrated Cement Arjit Soni ES13B1005 Introduction: When concrete is prepared cement is mixed with water but the hardened concrete formed after hydration of cement is not solid mass but a porous material. There is formation of pores due to extra water then required water for complete hydration added initially. Water occupies some fraction of the total initial volume and after the hydration of cement water is held physically, chemically or is adsorbed on product after hydration. This leads to formation of pore structure inside the hydrated cement. The properties of concrete are affected by the manner in which the pores of various sizes are distributed within it. The porosity of concrete along with pore size distribution determine the performance of such materials in construction applications. The performance includes the mechanical properties such as strength and durability properties including the ingress of chloride and sulphate ions. The total porosity in the system has a noticeable effect on the mechanical properties of construction materials , whereas the pore size distribution will mainly affect the durability properties. Concrete with the same total pore volume can exhibit entirely different properties, depending on pore size that is if it has a small number of large pores or large number of small pores.
