The Methods Of Forced Induction
Superchargers and turbochargers both are methods of forced induction. Forced induction is delivering
compressed air to the engine. The reason for forced induction is simple more air means to more power.
When the engine is using the compressed air, it is called boost. Superchargers and turbochargers are
the two common types of forced induction. A supercharger is driven by a belt like an alternator. A
turbocharger is driven by the flow of exhaust. The debate of which is better is one of the most talked
about debate and there is no right or wrong answer. There are pros and cons that make it imposable to
say one is better. There may be one that is better for your use. Turbochargers are bolted on the exhaust
headers using exhaust gasses to spin and spool an impellor in the turbo. This is efficiently using
energy that would have been wasted. When the one impellor is being spun by the exhaust the other is
sucks air in the engine making boost. Since the turbo is powered by the exhaust a lot of heat is made.
You do not want that to go through your engine because this could cause the engine to overheat. To
prevent overheating problems an intercooler is installed. The air travels through the intercooler during
the proses the air is cooled. One limitation of turbo is turbo lag, because the turbo is driven by the
exhaust it takes some time for the impellor to spool, but once it is spooled you can get full boost
quickly. The advancements in turbochargers have made turbo a lot better

development of students reading and writing skills. In addition to the assessments, the more an

William Bradford speech
Good Morning Every one, Welcome to the lecture this morning. I am Isfar Hassan, one of the
chancellors of this organization. I am really glad to be with you and personally to introduce all of you
to our guest speaker Mr. William Bradford.
As a boy in England, he was caught up in the passion of the Protestant Reformation and when he was
only 12 became a dedicated member of one of the separatist churches that made up the left wing of
Puritanism. Seven years later he joined a group of nonconformists who migrated to Holland (1609) in
search of religious freedom. William Bradford was orphaned at a young age and reared by his
grandparents and uncles to be a farmer.
In 1630 he began writing Of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bradford was elected governor in 1621 and occupied that office, with only brief intermissions.
Bradford served thirty one year terms as governor of the fledgling colony between 1622 and 1656
His simple yet artful prose, characterized by finely tuned sentences based upon the language and
cadences of the Geneva Bible, is often regarded as a model of a specifically American style of writing.
He helped shape and stabilize the political institutions of the first permanent colony in New England.
He helped organize an expedition of about 100 Pilgrims to the New World in 1620. They made up
about half the passengers on the Mayflower. Aboard ship, Bradford was one of the framers of the
historic Mayflower Compact, an agreement for voluntary civil cooperation that became the foundation
of the Plymouth government. The following year he was unanimously chosen as governor of the New
World settlement and was re elected 30 times, serving all but five years until

A Common Motif Of Mutual Death Essay
We are all the same, no one is better no one is less. We are all struggling to survive; be kind. That s the
rhetoric my parents so heavily ingrained in my mind. I was raised to take this passive ideology and
grow my life out of well intended passivism. Same became the degradation of different; Struggles
became insignificant and rooted in the pretense that everyone faces the same challenges. So, I went
through the motions stagnant and unmoved. Racism became unreal, unfathomable and unlogical. I
looked at St. Louis, my home, without truly seeing the deep existence of division the deep truth of
what it really holds. Like the Van Boucle painting, a common motif of mutual death can be seen in the
life of my home town. His strokes paint dead turkeys all vaguely touching each other, as they are set
up in different positions. Some are further away from others, but all are at least a part of a pair. Like
this image, the oil spills into blood and death touches us all; linking our existence; linking the streets
of St. Louis.
Separate is not equal Brown v. Board The legacy of slavery and Jim Crow was something I never
understood or clearly saw as a child and teenager. As a young child I lived in the areas now more
associated with the racist term ghetto . My parents tell me about the influence of gangs and crime that
overcame their older neighborhoods. Then the idea of black and these neighborhoods became
subconsciously and problematically synonymous. But my nomadic

My Hot Family Vacation Essay
A few minutes before we landed at the airport, I looked at the screen in front of me and it showed
33°C . It had been a year since I last experienced that kind of heat and I couldn t bear it last time, so I
wondered how I would cope with the heat this time. As the plane began to slow and turn into terminal,
I could hear people around me start to get there belongings together so that they could get off the
plane first. People returned the magazines to the rack on the back of the chair in front of them and I
turned off my iPod and put it back in my bag. When I took my headphones out, I felt like I was back

When I finally had my passport stamped and got my luggage, I made my way towards the arrivals
hall. The number of people didn t change but in fact looked like more, probably because the hall
stretched out from one end to another. I slowly pulled along my suitcase as I met my uncle and I
followed him to his car. On the way there, we went in a lift which was full of people.
As soon as the door opened, the heat hit me. It was like putting a hot iron in front of my face. But it
felt even worse as there was a slight wind which pushed the heat towards me. My body was
surrounded in a blanket of heat and I even started to sweat slightly. My uncle told me to wait by the
lift as he went to collect the car so I wouldn t have to walk as far and drag my suitcase along. While I
waited, I took time to look around at the surroundings. I could see mountains which stretched towards
the clouds and the airport behind me. There were a vast number of people walking around from their
flight looking drowsy and with no energy. The frequent red double decker bus also came and a few
planes flew above my head. I didn t even have to look, but I could hear the planes departing and
arriving. The planes all looked the same in the sky, big and white with some sort of logo. During the
wait, I took a few steps to take away the cramp. Although I had trainers on, I could feel and see that
the floor was new. The concrete looked

Pynchon s Entropy
ENTROPY by Thomas PynchonSummary:Meatball Mulligan throws a lease breaking party at his
apartment in Washington, D.C. in early February of 1957. His guests are a colorful bunch, including
Sandor Rojas, an ex Hungarian Freedom fighter, and the avant garde Duke di Angelis quartet
comprised of Duke, Vincent, Krinkles and Paco who together perform an original piece in complete
silence. Saul, a neighbor of Mulligan s, comes in through the window after an argument with his wife
concerning communication theory and the tendency for noise to screw up your signal, making for
disorganization in the circuit. The party degenerates during the course of the story into a chaotic mess:

Pynchon also takes the old adage Write what you know and posits an addition to the advice: So as a
corollary to writing about what we know, maybe we should add getting familiar with our ignorance
and the possibilities therein for ruining a good story. In his discussion of this work, Pynchon takes
much care in attempting to explain the significance of the notion of entropy as he chose to portray it in
his story as well as his general take on the concept. [For more information on the concept of entropy,
click on Entropy.] Pynchon is the first to admit, however, that entropy is a difficult concept to get one
s head around: he writes, Since I wrote this story I have kept trying to understand entropy, but my
grasp becomes less sure the more I read. He beckons us to research the subject and come up with an
understanding of it on our own, for, like Callisto, Pynchon seems to feel quite strongly that entropy is
a concept metaphorically applicable to many aspects of life. Pynchon credits his major influences in
the formulation of Entropy as Henry Adams and Norbert Wiener, author of Cybernetics and the
Human Use of Human Beings. He explains that the `theme of the story is mostly derivative of what
these two men had to say. Commentary: Entropy is extremely

Background of Social Darwinism
Racial profiling is not new, however, and was a theory of sociology in the late 19th century known as
Social Darwinism. Incorrectly using Darwin s theory of evolution, the Social Darwinists believed that
some species were morally superior to others, and even some races superior to others ADDIN

o Johnson, 2008 #13 Johnson). Public perception, though, believes in favor of seeing race as a reason
for crime, and having a considerable fear of anyone outside their own ethnic group depending on the
situation. Similarly, much so called organized crime, amounting to billions of dollars annually has
similar stereotypes of ethnic origin (e.g. Mafia La Costa Nostra, Russian Mafia, Chinese Triads,
Mexican Mafia, etc.). Still, over the past few decades, at least since the Rodney King beating, the use
of race by law enforcement, and then after 9/11 by Homeland security, has received considerable
political and media attention. One is agog, for instance, at the number of traffic stops that seem to
target certain drivers, or the amount of arrests for similar situations focused on minorities. We must
remember, too, that racial profiling, or stereotyping, is nothing new for centuries, cultures have looked
to the other for excuses to go to war, to incarcerate, or to find reason for authoritarian behavior.

Magnet Schools Vs Public Schools Essay
Quality education can make or break a child s excellent future. So, if you are looking to enroll your
child in a good school, it is best to learn the features and benefits of each. Here, we look at the
differences and distinct traits of public, private, charter and magnet school, so you are better guided on
where to send your little one.
Public School
Public schools cater to students in the elementary, middle and high school levels. These are usually
traditional schools and there are guidelines set by the state as to the means of evaluating and teaching
students. Moreover, some public schools accept students depending on the entrance test scores, and
the cut off may be high.
When it comes to the credentials and qualifications of teachers employed in public schools, these are
quite noteworthy. In fact, these teachers are state certified with a bachelor s degree. Once teachers are
certified, it means they have undergone training in the state where they are practicing the profession.
Necessary coursework and student teaching practicum should also be completed before a certification
is granted to teachers. On the other hand, charter school teachers have a more flexible ... Show more

This means, there is a higher quality of control over subjects taught in the classroom such as
mathematics, science and reading. The curriculum may also be somewhat rigid as state guidelines are
followed in these schools.
Another distinct feature of public schools is the diversity of students enrolled. Hence, students are
exposed to an environment that is quite like the real world with different kinds of people from various
races, religion and cultures. Public schools aim to steer clear from racial segregation and
discrimination by accepting students from any type of background. There are also special academic
programs available to learners including environmental sciences and

The Treaty Of Nuclear Weapons
In March 1970, the Treaty of Nuclear Non proliferation came into existence. The treaty sought to
inhibit the widespread of the nuclear weapons. At this period, the treaty had one hundred and ninety
state parties. There was classification of the state parties into two categories. The first type was the
Nuclear Weapon States that consisted of China, France, United States, Russia and the United
Kingdom. The other category consisted of non nuclear weapons states. Under the agreement, the five
nuclear weapons states committed themselves to pursuing the general and the complete disarmament.
On the other hand, the non nuclear weapons states made an agreement of preceding the development
or the acquisition of the nuclear weapons.
However, despite the emergence of the treaty of the Nuclear Non Proliferation having been in
existence for almost fifty years, the worldwide threat of the nuclear weapons remains. In this
dissertation, the role of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty in the contemporary global system and
the effectiveness of the prevention of the spread of the nuclear weapons is examined. There is also
discussion about the comparison and contrast of two interpretations of the NPT.
The nuclear non proliferation treaty played the role of mobilization of the states to prevent the
multiplication of the nuclear weapons (Nye, 2005). The systems of the worldwide safeguards
prevented the diversion of the materials that were fissile into the weapons successfully. There was

Conversion Hysteria
Sigmund Freud, neurologist and founder of psychoanalysis, was originally interested in the scientific
side of medicine and was especially intrigued by the brain. He attended medical school in Vienna with
the aspiration to become a medical researcher. From this he was offered a fellowship to study in Paris
with neurologist, Jean Charcot. Charcot treated Conversion Hysteria patients using hypnosis.
Conversion hysteria is a psychological disorder in which the patients experience physical symptoms
but have no evidence of any medical condition. Charcot believed that a traumatic event in someones
life could trigger an emotional response that caused these symptoms. Later, Freud returned to Vienna
and starting working with Josef Breuer, a physician who was treating hysterics. Breuer was somewhat
successful in treating patients with hypnosis. One of his patients, Anna was his most successful and

Explain Why It Is Important To Be In Control Of Paperwork
It is important to be in control of our paperwork; we don t always have control over what we receive
in the form of paperwork and most of that tends to come from our mail. What we do have control over
is how we deal with this source of clutter. With that in mind, let s look at a good way to deal with our
mail. Most people receive mail six days a week, this may depend on your specific location. Sometimes
there are days when all that you receive is junk mail mail that serves no purpose other than trying to
sell you something or get you to donate money or some other distracting topic. We are all in the habit
of getting our mail daily since that is the usual delivery schedule but does that mean we have to let it
occupy our space and time

Descriptive Essay About The Doll
Victim 1
Do you ever wonder what it was like in a horror movie? Nothing like a cliche, more like It and maybe
a couple others. What a doll that was cursed, able to move on her own and be insane? A doll that can
smell a sin miles to acres away and track it down like a hungry bloodhound in the cold winter willing
to eat any meat. That s what happened years ago, I thought it was a legend, but never make a sin in
front of the doll. You ll wake her from her sleep and she ll take revenge on all humanity to make the
world pure.
************************************************
I was five when I got the doll, not giving a care in the world to my surroundings. The doll was weird
looking, almost terrifying to look at, but the doll looked to me interestingly enough to keep it and play
with. She had a red top hot with a blue ribbon wrapped around it with midnight blue hair by the looks
of it with light blue for her bangs, her hair in two ponytails in the upper back part of her head. Her left
eye was stitched up and the right though liked like the kind that can be used for any emotion to speak
of with the color of ice blue. She had a dress that covered her neck, her upper body and leggings for
pants, on the feeling of the material. Her shoulders, forearm, and her nails painted black. Her shoes,
just plain black with flat boots, able to take off and put back on. Doll also had pink spider earrings that
was very detailed to the very inch.
Years later to age ten, was the when it all started. We lived in a quiet town and no need for police
officers, but we still had them anyway. The first murder happened when my family went to the movies
to see Black Moon. It was such a good movie, when it came out on VHS, I watched and watched that
movie, stuck in a time lope and never leaving it. Getting up a few times to use the bathroom, eat and
drink. When the movie ended, and left the building, police lights were on and flashing. We thought it
was all a prank or to scare us, and it scared us to the point of nightmares. I still do up to it, but rarely
now.
The details that I wish to never had seen, or to even talk about it. It was a disconnected corpse. Blood
leaked out of the head which was torn off it s body, along with it s

Holden Caulfield Red Hunting Hat Theme
he theme of perpetuating childhood innocence is very important to Holden Caulfield and the book.
The significance of this theme is so great, it is manifested into Holden s red hunting hat. The reason
why the red hunting hat is linked to the book so much is because of its unusuality. Holden got the hat
from a store in New York for a dollar, but he never goes hunting or anything of the sort. Its purpose is
to remind him of innocence; Allie and Phoebe s red hair or even as a blankie. In childhood, the blankie
is used as a comfort thing it is something warm, familiar, and can protect against monsters. Holden s
reluctance to become an adult and his adversities force him into using the hunting hat as a way to
cope. Holden is the victim of the world, but he doesn t do much to mitigate the damage. School is an
example of his hardships since he cannot comply with the phoniness of the school. Despite his own
facade, Holden desperately wishes to fit into the crowd. Since Holden does not fit in and does not pass
his classes he must leave Pencey Prep. Holden visited the only teacher he liked, Mr. Spencer, and
recalls that Mr. Spencer is the kind of person who could get a big bang out of buying a blanket (23).

Phoebe was more mature and exposed to the world than he thought she would be. She was no longer

innocence, made it the picturesque scene. Holden was wearing the hat when Phoebe was riding on the

experienced with the harshness of the world. Holden gained the knowledge that you can still be happy
without being phony and you do not need to grow up as in adult to be grown

World War One Was a Senseless War Essay
World War One Was a Senseless War World War One was the first major war that was fought in
mainly in Europe, and parts of Asia. The war lasted from July 28th, 1914 to November 11th, 1928.
There were over a hundred nations involved not only from Europe, but from Asia, Africa, Central
America, North America and many Island nations. There were millions of casualties fighting in slow
moving trench warfare , and many battles were also fought at sea. There are many reason why the
world plunged into its first world war. There were over a half a dozen mutual protection pacts that
forced other countries to enter the war. The fact that countries were in an arms race well before the

In the late 19th century and the early 20th century European nations decided to ally with each other
out of fear of being attacked. They set up mutual protection pacts. These pacts were designed to help
defend their countries if they were invaded. The pacts were known as the Treaty Alliance System. The
main pacts that were present before World War One were; Russia and Serbia, Japan and Britain,
France and Russia, Germany and Austria Hungary, and Britain, France and Belgium. The US was
neutral until the German navy attacked our civilian ships. So if anyone of the countries was attacked it
would set off a chain reaction leading to total war. That is exactly what happened. Another reason why
war was inevitable was Germany was mobilizing a massive army, stockpiling huge amounts of
weapons, and building up its navy at the same time. At the same time Britain was building up a
massive navy as well. Germany and Russia s government were increasingly becoming more
militarized. Each country was trying to show dominance over the other one. The smallest incident, but
the most significant was the assignation of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Archduke Franz Ferdinand was
the heir to the thrown for Austria Hungary. Austria Hungary believed that Serbia was involved. That
led to Austria Hungary to declare war on Serbia. Russia had a protection pact with Serbia and started
mobilizing to defend the country. Germany saw this and then declared war on Russia. In turn France

The Film Analysis Of The Wizard Of Oz
The Wizard of Oz was first filmed in 1939 and has been revised several times to keep up with the time
frame at present. It started out as a black and white film and was originally produced by Metro
Goldwyn Meyer. Judy Garland is playing the role of Dorothy Gale, who in this film is a restless bored
young girl that wants something other than the dreary life she lives in Kansas, (Goodykoontz Jacobs,
2014, Ch. 4.3 para. 1,2) This film focuses on the power of the imagination and gives a place for
mental escape and relaxation. The power of the imagination is demonstrated throughout this entire
film. It begins with Dorothy ended up in a place called Munchinland that has little people, and is filled
with colors and excitement, the opposite of Kansas where everything is black and white. The most
magical scene is the scene when Dorothy and her dog, The Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Scary
Lion meets the Wizard. When they arrive to their destination an image of a man appears during a
blazing fire and thick smoke, and he speaks with authority and control. The fear in Dorothy and her
friends is overwhelming to them, especially for the scary lion who faints before he can speak. The
cinematography technique is crystal clear in capturing the fear and confusion in the characters, as well
as the audience. The special effect in editing allowed the audience to see long views of the face in the
fire and smoke and experience the fear along with Dorothy and her friends. The lighting was

traumatic statistic of the inmates of America. This in turn, causes the audience to take into account the
total disregard of inmates. David and Lovisa continue to the next paragraph of their article by
presenting additional overall facts of the inmates. They appeal to the logic of the audience by stating,

The Math in Music
Music with Math Few people understand that music is actually connected to math. Most people i
believe have more of an idea of what music is than what they know what math is. Music is scales and
notes. Math is numbers and symbols. Deep in the core of music, music is really math. They also have
a strange connection: Music is the only art form where the form and the medium are the same. Math is
the only science where the methods and the subject are the same. Math is the study of math using
math. Music is only created and experienced as music. Thus, there is a natural connection between
mathematics and music: Both are experienced as pure objects of the brain, and both have meaning
outside of the brain only by artificial connections. Math and music are both universal. Math is applied
across the world to find solutions to everyday problems while music is played around the world and is
present in every world culture throughout history. Both math and music rely on spacing. The amount
of data or time a note is held connects math to music. A measure is relative to a line graph and a note
to a number or fraction. There are many things that connect with music and math. which are music
time, Reading music and fractions and last but not least the pythagorean scale. When you read a score
also known as a music sheet or musical piece you read it like if reading math that will give you some
informations of the piece you will be playing. Music sheets are divided into sections called

Examine the ways in which one religion uses scripture as a basis for its teachings about sexual
behaviour (30 marks).
The Christian religion implements the use of scripture as the highest command for the way in which
sexual ethics is implemented. Christian teaching explores several issues in light of sexuality such as
extra marital and pre marital sex, homosexuality and pro creation and I will write about these in this
essay.
When looking at pre marital sex, traditional Christian teachings of the bible suggest that sex is only
for married couples and hetro sexual couples. For example, Timothy 5:2: As a Christian man, if you
are not married to her, then she is your sister whom you must treat with absolute purity. Similarly in 2

Sexual involvement with non Israelites was forbidden, as it would lead away from God, so adultery
was forbidden. If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the
adulteress shall be stoned to death Leviticus. This clearly states that adultery is a punishable act that
can result in being put to death. Women should be virgins on marriage so that the man could be certain
that the child was his, so that the children could carry on the husband s name.
In the New Testament, Jesus challenges the view of the wife as the man s property. Whoever divorces
his wife and marries another commits adultery against her . Jesus teachings on adultery are all about
the harming of relationships. Everyone who looks at another woman with his lust has already
committed adultery with her in his heart . It s clear from this quote that Jesus strongly disagrees with a
husband straying from his wife, and he should be faithful and loyal to her. Matthew also held the same
view of adultery If your right eyes causes you to sin then tear it out, it s better to lose a member than
for your whole body to be thrown in to hell . However, Jesus did forgive the adulterous woman who
was brought before him. Neither do I condemn you. Go your way and do not sin again . He claimed
that our intentions are the most important thing.
Paul writes in Corinthians that Christians should not let their bodily emotions control them. Sexual

This reading essay is a review of the following article:
Windsor, D. (2001). The future of corporate social responsibility. International Journal of
Organizational Analysis, 9 (3): 225 256.
Duane Windsor, via the aforementioned article regarding the future of social responsibility, purports
there are three emerging alternatives or competitors to responsibility: (1) an economic conception of
responsibility; (2) global corporate citizenship; and (3) stakeholder management practices (pg. 225).
Windsor first provides a historical reflection of social responsibility beginning in the Progressive Era
through the twentieth century and concludes with predictions for the future of corporate social

Carroll s pyramid model inspired debate between how people ought to behave and how people are
likely to behave and that behavior may come to dominate theory by appeal to the desirability of
material outcomes (pg. 235). The historical reflection Windsor provided led him to his thesis of the
three emerging alternative or competitors to responsibility. Economic conception of responsibility,
emerging alternative #1, links wealth and social welfare. By definition, organizations that do not focus
on financial profits are labeled not for profit organizations. Windsor s second cited emerging
alternatives to responsibility focuses on recent movement involving global corporate citizenship. He
explains this alternative as a marriage of societal expectations of corporations to their community and
management obligations to their firm. The more powerful and wealth the firm, the greater that firm s
responsibilities to neighbors and the community must be (pg. 242). Windsor s third emerging
alternative is regarding stakeholder management practices. Management psychologies vary widely
amongst theorists yet revolve around prioritization of profits.
Corporate social responsibility seems to be a topic needing additional research and discussion. As a
former law enforcement office, laws and regulation make sense to me. Since I was a young child, I

Microsoft E Business Suite ( Ebs ) Upgrade
Possibly the most comprehensive change to the daily operations will be the Oracle E business suite
(EBS) upgrade. This IS will provide many solutions to the operations and maintenance managers by
providing total operational oversight at the click of a button. EBS enables users to oversee projects,
asset milestones and budgets, and staff projects. It also has a quick report generator for business
meetings and scheduling. Another feature that will be highly beneficial is the ability for EBS to
integrate and enhance existing programs. It will streamline financials, enhance supply chain
management, and fulfill human capital management requirements. Utilizing the asset lifecycle
management tool within EBS will enhance financial management of our aircraft and equipment items.
It will also calculate the most efficient way to make payments on the aircraft that will maximize the
use of our funds and free up income that can be used elsewhere within the budget. Many of the
equipment items will require calibration from testing measurements and diagnostics equipment
(TMDE) laboratories, which require scheduling and shipping coordination. For this task, the value
chain execution tool would be perfect. It will line up and track the schedule of TMDE items that
require calibration; once the items come due shipping will be coordinated automatically. There are
plenty of applications in the Oracle E Business Suite that the club will utilize for our E Business, as

Kehliy (2009) suggests children have four basics needs; the need for love and security, new
experiences, praise and recognition and responsibility. Children have the potential to develop to their
full capacity with these needs met. Maslov in his hierarchy of needs highlighted that children need
their basic needs met before they can develop onto the next stage. He proposed five key levels;
physiology, safety, belongingness, esteem and self actualisation. Each level needs to be fulfilled to
process to the next. With this in mind Maslov s theory suggests that children and adults cannot reach
their full potential unless there needs are met. This theory is strongly represented within the social
services sector and within the care sector (Green, 2009). Smidt (2006) highlighted that the way in
which childhood is perceived changes overtime; adults construct an image of what childhood should
be. The images of childhood and the way children are perceived are influenced by economics, politics,
religion and class. This is evident within theorists differing views of children and their theories and
helps us to understand why these differ. Smidt (2006) suggested all areas of development are strongly
interrelated thus a delay in language development, for example, can hinder the child s social or
emotional development. For children to understand emotions they need to discuss their feelings, so
require the social interaction and language to discuss this.

Arguments Concerning Firearms
Firearms can easily be concealed, so individuals lean toward these types of weapons to use for self
defense. Unfortunately, criminals also use these types of weapons and are easy for them to steal;
firearms are easily available on the black market; this makes pistols appealing to criminals. Most
crimes involving firearms are committed with the use of a pistol; this is a serious problem in society.
Although most would agree that something must be done, no one seems to have the answer at this
point. Some individuals that support weapons believe that by completely banning firearms would be
the best way to protect citizens. However, banning pistols/shotguns fails to protect citizens, because
the laws are ineffective, banning firearms prevents individuals from an effective means of self
defense, and the law still don t solve the real problem, which is the gun owner.
Individuals that supports concealed weapons to be took on campus may claim guns deter crime, and,
while some statistics show this to be true, the opposite side of the coin also has evidence to prove this
is not the case. First, recent polls suggest college campuses aren t a breeding ground for violence, as
suggested by state legislators. Across the board and with most major parties of interest, groups say
they feel safe and secure at campuses; even those at reportedly dangerous locations said they feel
secured. Another reason why firearms bans fail to protect citizens is because they do not deal with the
real issue. The real issue behind firearm crimes and violence is not the gun itself, but rather ... Show

The Vampire And Vampire Genre
The vampire genre has been a dominating force in films and television shows for ages now. Earlier
vampire films were known for being creepy and eerie, leading people to fear the vampire. While
modern vampire films and television shows are known for making vampires more likable or even
relatable. This modernization of the vampire seems to have come as a result of film and television
makers combining the vampire genre with other genres. Having films and television shows about
vampires in high school, in romantic relationships, and even vampires are heroes have become a
common tend in pop culture. With hit films like the Twilight (Hardwicke, 2008), it no wonder that
film and television creators are not jumping all over this popular trend. Two ... Show more content on

It used to be that he vampire would be seen as these dark and creepy creatures that would stalk and
feed off its prey, similar to the original folklore, but people just seem to not be as interesting in that

get tired of it, which is why it makes since that film and television makers decided it was time to
revamp the vampire genre. Combining the vampire genre with other genres, like romance, is a good
way of keeping the vampire genre fresh. Film and television creators needed to figure out new ways to
change the vampire genre up, and combining them with different genres was a clever way. By
combining the vampire genre with other genres, film and television creators have endless possibilities
of what they can do with the vampire genre. For the past few years the romantic and teen genre has

Analysis Of Tom Wacaster s Book Galatians
In his book, Studies in Galatians, Tom Wacaster addresses a very vital need: to provide common level,
sound commentaries of the Bible. Books such as this are very beneficial, as they assist an average
member of the church to expand their understanding of God s word. This, as Wacaster stated himself,
was his goal in writing this very commentary. If [Studies in Galatians] serves to give just one precious
soul a better understanding of this wonderful letter...then it will have been worth the time spent in
preparing and publishing (3, 4). Wacaster has surely accomplished this worthy objective and more
with this valuable book. Wacaster s book, which is (as the title suggests) centered on Paul s epistle to
the Galatians, is very obviously intended to the common level, average audience. Wacaster does not
delve into complex conversations of textual variants, manuscript discrepancies, and disputations of
authorship, nor does he use vocabulary or phraseology that is above the understanding of most
individuals. Rather, Wacaster is simple, straightforward, and effective in communicating his points on
the wonderful book of Galatians. With many commentaries that are written at a graduate and scholarly
level, a more basic approach is much appreciated and needed. Wacaster took a very direct approach in
organizing Studies in Galatians. It is setup as a verse by verse commentary, with each verse being
given in the American Standard Version and then followed by the author s discussion of

Essay about The Woman in Black
The woman in black: how does Arthur s character change during the course of the story?
At the beginning of the story Arthur is a proud and striving townsman, who enjoys life. This satisfying
state deteriorates by the dreadful experiences he encounters during his stay at Eel marsh house. This
affects him for the rest of his life.
Arthur was an ambitious man, who was interested in building his future; we learn this in the first
chapter:
This house was one day to be my own home. (p13)
To finance these ambitions he hopes to take more responsibility in the business so that he can ask for a
pay rise from Mr Bentley his employer. (p41)
On the train journey to Crythin Gifford Arthur expresses his pride in his job by saying: ... Show more

When Arthur sees the woman in black for the second time near Eel marsh at the burial ground, he has
a slight suspicion that she is not a human being:
Who she was or what and how she had vanished, such questions I did not ask myself...I did not
believe in ghosts.
but what other explanations was there?(p66 and 68)
This creates a little bit of curiosity in Arthur s mind and soon or later he finds out what she really is.
It was Arthur s experiences at Eel Marsh house which damaged his mental and physical life.
For how long I sat there, in extremes of despair and fear fullness, I do not know. (p76)
When a person like Arthur who adopts such high grades of fearlessness and resiliency expresses his
fear in such a manner he must have been terribly scared. Surely such levels of fear must affect a
person.
A key point in the story is when Arthur visits Eel Marsh house he explains his experiences as follows:
I had been as badly frightened as a man could be (p85).
Arthur was such a brave and resilient man, the same man who dismissed all the stories that he had
heard as tales that had grown out of proportion, must have experienced intense levels of fear to be so
terrified. These experiences change Arthur himself into a completely different man who now lacks in
physical activity and

Through the percpectives of several different people Marquez shows us varying views on what the old

from some foreign ship. The priest decides it cannot be an angel since it does not speak the holy
language of latin. The doctor in the story seems to decide the old man to be human and that his wings
were so logical he wondered why no other man had them. By offering these different perspectives of
the angels, the reader wonders what the angel actually is. The angel remains anonymous and
ambiguous. Throughout the entire story Marquez refers to it as the angel but he never tells us anything
of its origin or purpose. Using the angel completely as a device and nothing else, he leaves the reader
to wonder if this character actually is an angel or just a dirty old man. When the angel decides to

The World´s Demand of Fossil Fuels
The world s demand of fossil fuels is slowly diminishing by the growing use of biofuels. May it be
ethanol or biodiesel its one step closer to a greener earth. From peanut oil to bark, science is being
done to convert plants into energy.
Creation of Biofuel Some might think that biofuels are new but they have been in use ever since man
discovered fire. Wood is a solid biofuel used for cooking and heating. The types of biofuels are solid
gas and liquid. The most common is liquid made popular by the automobile industry as a source of
fuel. Biofuel is a fuel that contained energy from once living organisms. Biofuel is created by biomass
conversion. Biomass is recently deceased organisms. These recently deceased organisms are converted
into a substance called biomass that contains the energy. The biomass will be converted into a fuel
using one of these methods: thermal conversion, chemical conversion and biochemical conversion.
Thermal conversion is also known as thermal depolymerization, a process using high heat to produce
biofuel. Chemical conversion uses various chemicals to produce biofuel. Finally, biochemical
conversion uses enzymes, microbes, and catalysts to make biofuel.
Generations of Biofuel The two generations of biofuels. The first generation is commonly known as

mistreatment. In 1765 at the age of 59, Franklin addressed Parliament regarding the Quartering Bill,
which allowed forceful housing of British soldiers in the homes of the Americans. He argued on
behalf of the colonies and Parliament amended the bill making the act illegal. During this same year,
Parliament passed the Stamp Act as a way of acquiring more money from the colonies. This is where
many of Benjamin Franklin s diplomatic duties began.
Franklin was called to testify in front of Parliment,
A questioner asked: Considering the resolutions of Parliament as to the right, do you think, if the
stamp act is repealed, that the North Americans will be satisfied?
Franklin responded: I think the resolutions of right will gibe them very little concern, if they are never
attempted to be carried into practice.
A adversary asked: If the stamp act should be repealed, would it induce the assemblies of America to
acknowledge the rights of Parliament to tax them, and would they erase their resolutions [of

Nonviolent Actions That Could Leapfrog Current Issues...
Shaking off a Hell of Dependancy and Creating the Leaping Frog
This essay assesses nonviolent actions that could leapfrog current issues perpetuating the Israel
Palestine conflict to bring about beneficial inter dependence. To scope potential outcomes I will
configure the fundamental interests of both parties, some barriers to reconciliation, then employing
principles of Constructivist theory [1], explore harnessing and coordinating the potential of creativity
and technology, as well as the influence and goodwill of social media. I conclude that this
environment can lead to achievable options providing Israel security and defuse its dominance over
Palestine with two independent states [2].
Contemporary outsiders consider Israel and Palestine s bleak circumstance with fatigue, apathy and
lack commitment to support further resolutions [3]. This paralysis taps into my reactions as a young
adult researching the holocaust which were not diplomatically measured. I was full of horror, disbelief
and determined never to stand by silent; silent, facilitating such a thing to occur again. Well, it has not
been that simple and enormous transgressions have happened again and again!
A daily existence in Hell, pitifully dependant, Palestine clings to futility; while Israel terrified about
security, digs its boots in pursuing expansion. Reframed through a Constructivist lens this could
become: Capturing ideas; resilient; resourceful and intertwined, Palestinians maximise restorative

FIVE STAGE TEAM DEVELOPMENT MODEL LIFE CYCLES
Introduction
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the life cycle of team development. How the stages of a project
team works towards an end conclusion. The benefits of a project team and the risks of allowing the
project team to exist beyond its original goals.
The five stage team development consists of five stages; forming, storming, norming, performing and
adjourning. This is the Tuckman Model introduced in 1965, by Bruce Tuckman. This model explains
the basic progress and growth of a team. The first stage, forming, is the members coming ... Show

Their team of experts failed.
When a team is formed it focuses on the future and once it succeeds it focuses on the past by Edwin
Lee. AT T is a successful company and the largest long distance carrier in the United States. But by
focusing on their past successes, they failed to look towards the future. On the contrast, Black Decker
looked for solutions that would transform their company to succeed in the future. Comparing these
two companies show how the management teams of an organization can guide a company s destiny.
Can success breed failure? That is the opinion of Edwin Lee. He cited the success of IBM with their
introduction of the IBM PC, followed with a failure, the PC Jr. Apple Inc. was successful with its
Apple II and followed with a failure, Lisa. He is of the opinion that success of a product by a
management team can lead to the failure of the next product.
Can failure breed success? In Edwin Lee s article he examined generals Norman Schwartzkopf and
Colin Powell, whom both served during the Vietnam War. He suggests that experience earned from the
failures of Vietnam, both men the wisdom and knowledge to lead to the success of Desert Storm. But
even with their record success he would not want them to lead another battle. His conclusion is that
they would rely on their past success and would not be good at changing for future circumstances. He
further concludes that executives and

I Have Developed My Self Assessment Essay
Introduction
My culture, interaction with family and friends, and the various experiences from co curricular and
extra curricular activities have enabled me to develop a multifaceted personality to tap my potential.
In particular different activities, projects, assessment reports, and feedback from colleagues over the
last few months at Babson I have better understood my strengths and weaknesses, and work style and
leadership style. In this paper, I have developed my self assessment analysis based upon qualitative
and quantitative materials I have, and my experiences and exercises during this semester. I have
identified three broad themes that incorporate several subthemes representing my current abilities,
preferences, patterns of strengths, etc. (see appendix 1). Further, I have developed my action plan for
the next semester to enhance my strengths and learn new skills, which are critical for my future career
growth, to overcome my weaknesses.
Self assessment
Theme 1: I am action and performance oriented
Based upon my experiences, feedback from others and self analysis, I believe that I am always action
and performance oriented. My print assessment shows that generally I am not fond of exhaustive
planning or grueling analysis; I prefer things moving forward. I am spontaneous and able to take risks.
In addition, my self confidence has a calming effect on others while at the same time mobilizing them
to take action ( Paul Hertz Group | PRINT Survey | Unconscious

Death Of A Salesman Character Analysis Essay
In the very first part of Act I of the play Death of a Salesman , the reader gets to know the main
characters of the play, especially how they behave, their personality and, even if very implicitly, the
writer makes some of the character s feelings to transpire. Therefore, Willy, which is old and very
dreamy, can be considered as the character whose everything turns around him and, even if at first he
seems very grumpy, the reader, later on in the play, gets to know that he is very affectionate to his
family. In this first part of the first Act, Willy comes back home and, during a conversation with his
wife, he confesses to having smashed the car again because he was busy admiring the landscapes.
Regarding on this, his two sons, who he is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Biff, instead, is very happy and proud of what he is doing, however by working in a farm he
disappointed most of the people he knows that wanted him to be a businessman, Willy included.
Therefore, the main theme developed in this first part of the first Act of the play is prototyping, which
is totally understandable and normal for the period the play is settled in, that is the American Dream.
Consequently, every single character in this first part of Death of a Salesman , finds himself to fight
against the prototypes that the society, during those years, was trying to impose to them. This theme is
clearly expressed by the characters of Happy and Biff, and at times by Willy as well: they are all
trying to be happy themselves, but at the same time to respect and satisfy what the society whats them
to be, and so, therefore, to be the prototype of a young American man living during the era of the
American dream. Happy, for example, during a talk he has with his brother, express all his
disappointment in seeing that he is exactly what everyone wants and expects him to be, however, even
if he almost incarnates the

Playing An Instrument Analysis
Think about instruments as a relief from paper and pencil, there are no tests, no qualifications and
limitations. I think playing an instrument is an enjoyable, educational school activity. Students can
learn how to read musical notes. When one can read music notes they will have the ability to play
them on an instrument. Second, playing an instrument can easily expand one s knowledge because that
person will advance into playing that particular instrument. Especially if a student is a beginning
player then they can ask peers or research about their instrument. Last, students can show school spirit
and passion by playing his or her instrument while marching. Not only that, but students can play his
or her instrument loudly for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While in marching band one can learn how to march while playing an instrument. When in marching
band one may play louder than normal. While playing louder one has more a chance to express his or
her passion of playing an instrument. Not only that, but one can get the audience pumped up about the
music and marching. When getting the audience pumped up the band can play louder than normal,
march, and show school spirit and school colors. Moreover, in marching band students are allowed to
play louder than normal, march, show school spirit, and show one s passion for music.
In conclusion, a student may join a school activity like band. I believe that one can play an instrument
in the school activity called band. I think band is an ability where one may have the chance to show to
freely express their ways of music. Giving one a chance to express music opens up a whole new world
of creativity. As I have stated above, music gives a child a break from pencil and paper, qualifications,
and limitations by doing thing in band like reading music notes, expanding knowledge on instruments,
and marching

The United States Bureau Of Land Management
1 The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has stepped in to provide restorative practices upon 500,000
acres of heavily degraded public grasslands. This land is suffering from severe soil erosion as well as
degradation due to overgrazing. The suppression of natural fires has caused shrubs and invasive weeds
to encroach upon the grasslands. A full scale assessment will take place on this land before restoration
efforts begin. The first thing that would need to be assessed is the soil, for it is eroding and holding
little nutrient value. Samples would be taken of this soil from various parts of the grasslands including
the eroded gullies. Each soil sample would be taken from at least 1 foot below the surface, to test for
carbon richness below the topsoil. These would then be tested for texture, density, water retention, and
chemical composition. Typically, powerful, healthy soil will contain amounts of both Nitrogen and
Phosphorous, which are essential nutrients in sustainable plant growth. These samples would also be
tested for any build up of salts, something known as soil salinization. Unhealthy, salinized soil is
created over years of over hydrating and deep plowing. Excess water will suffocate root systems of
once healthy crops, and salinized soils will reduce crop output up to 20% (Withgott Brennan, 2011).
The next assessment would be in the shrubs and invasive weed species on the land. Knowing the
volume and location of these plants gives way to a better understanding of

Human Impact On The Platte River
Since the settlement of the American West, rivers have experienced changes in the natural flows and
movements. Among these processes flooding has become controlled as dams have been built.
Esselman et al. (2011) tracked numerous categories of anthropocentric activities through geographical
informational systems. The team found that upstream fish habitats were exponentially impacted by
human activities downstream. In addition to the upstream movement of impacts human impacts also
travel downstream. Different human impacts on the Yellowstone River versus the Platte River have
greatly affected the river ecosystems. One example humans have impacted aquatic ecosystems has
been through the introduction of invasive species. Invasive species are a ... Show more content on

In another report by Kessler et al., (2013) the possibility of analyzing a variety of restoration methods
will help to determine a cost effective plan. This means that the restoration of roosting and feeding
grounds for the sandhill cranes can be achieved if numerous methods are first explored. In addition to
exploring a variety of restoration methods the combination of public agencies and private individuals
will promote restoration and conservation efforts. A restoration project along the Dolores River in
southwestern Colorado and eastern Utah that combined the public and private sectors created a
program that could share ideas, finances, and other vital planning decisions (Oppenheimer et al.,

Beatrice and Benedick as a Couple in William Shakespeare s...
Beatrice and Benedick as a Couple in William Shakespeare s Much Ado About Nothing
Much Ado About Nothing is a Shakespeare play set in Mecina. It is a comedy, about Don Pedro and
his friends. The play focuses on the relationships of the characters, especially that of
Beatrice/Benedick and Claudio/Hero. The two romances follow two different ideas, one an average
romance in Shakespeare s day, the other a not so average romance. Beatrice and Benedick s history
together is made clear from the start, when Beatrice tells the messenger bringing news of Benedick s
return, that he is no less than a stuffed man , implying that he is very full of himself. This shows right
from the start that any romance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This all happens in the first scene, so their relationship is established from the beginning.
Hero and Claudio s relationship gets established near the beginning as well. However, this one is
much more simple. Claudio comments on how the world cannot buy a jewel as great as Hero, and
after Don Pedro woos her for him they are set to get married, without any serious problems.
The two main relationships the play focuses on are now set, and the two audiences have different
views on them. For an audience today to see Hero and Claudio decide to get married so simply would
be boring. However, a Shakespearian audience would see this relationship as ordinary, and not be
bothered that it was so simple. Although Beatrice and Benedick are not yet shown as in love, a
Shakespearian audience would not have thought it usual for a woman like Beatrice to be speaking as
she was about Benedick. However, today it is perfectly normal for Beatrice to be talking like she is, so
at the moment, the two relationships are more satisfying to the different audiences.
Beatrice and Benedick s relationship has another problem. They both like to use their wit and
intelligence to try and outsmart people, and mainly themselves. Because of this they are constantly
going to be trying to outsmart the other, and this

  • 2. The Methods Of Forced Induction Superchargers and turbochargers both are methods of forced induction. Forced induction is delivering compressed air to the engine. The reason for forced induction is simple more air means to more power. When the engine is using the compressed air, it is called boost. Superchargers and turbochargers are the two common types of forced induction. A supercharger is driven by a belt like an alternator. A turbocharger is driven by the flow of exhaust. The debate of which is better is one of the most talked about debate and there is no right or wrong answer. There are pros and cons that make it imposable to say one is better. There may be one that is better for your use. Turbochargers are bolted on the exhaust headers using exhaust gasses to spin and spool an impellor in the turbo. This is efficiently using energy that would have been wasted. When the one impellor is being spun by the exhaust the other is sucks air in the engine making boost. Since the turbo is powered by the exhaust a lot of heat is made. You do not want that to go through your engine because this could cause the engine to overheat. To prevent overheating problems an intercooler is installed. The air travels through the intercooler during the proses the air is cooled. One limitation of turbo is turbo lag, because the turbo is driven by the exhaust it takes some time for the impellor to spool, but once it is spooled you can get full boost quickly. The advancements in turbochargers have made turbo a lot better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The data collected from the assessments address any factors that may prohibit the development of students reading and writing skills. In addition to the assessments, the more an educator can learn about students backgrounds and their past reading, language development, and writing experiences the more instructional strategies can be designed to specifically meet the needs of diverse learners in the classroom. I am Isfar Hassan, one of the chancellors of this organization. I am really glad to be with you and personally to introduce all of you to our guest speaker Mr. William Bradford. As a boy in England, he was caught up in the passion of the Protestant Reformation and when he was only 12 became a dedicated member of one of the separatist churches that made up the left wing of Puritanism. Seven years later he joined a group of nonconformists who migrated to Holland (1609) in search of religious freedom. Bradford was elected governor in 1621 and occupied that office, with only brief intermissions. Bradford served thirty one year terms as governor of the fledgling colony between 1622 and 1656 His simple yet artful prose, characterized by finely tuned sentences based upon the language and cadences of the Geneva Bible, is often regarded as a model of a specifically American style of writing. He helped shape and stabilize the political institutions of the first permanent colony in New England. He helped organize an expedition of about 100 Pilgrims to the New World in 1620. They made up about half the passengers on the Mayflower. Aboard ship, Bradford was one of the framers of the historic Mayflower Compact, an agreement for voluntary civil cooperation that became the foundation of the Plymouth government. • 6. A Common Motif Of Mutual Death Essay We are all the same, no one is better no one is less. We are all struggling to survive; be kind. That s the rhetoric my parents so heavily ingrained in my mind. I was raised to take this passive ideology and grow my life out of well intended passivism. Same became the degradation of different; Struggles became insignificant and rooted in the pretense that everyone faces the same challenges. So, I went through the motions stagnant and unmoved. Racism became unreal, unfathomable and unlogical. I looked at St. Louis, my home, without truly seeing the deep existence of division the deep truth of what it really holds. Like the Van Boucle painting, a common motif of mutual death can be seen in the life of my home town. His strokes paint dead turkeys all vaguely touching each other, as they are set up in different positions. Some are further away from others, but all are at least a part of a pair. Like this image, the oil spills into blood and death touches us all; linking our existence; linking the streets of St. Louis. Separate is not equal Brown v. Board The legacy of slavery and Jim Crow was something I never understood or clearly saw as a child and teenager. As a young child I lived in the areas now more associated with the racist term ghetto . My parents tell me about the influence of gangs and crime that overcame their older neighborhoods. Then the idea of black and these neighborhoods became subconsciously and problematically synonymous. But my nomadic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the plane began to slow and turn into terminal, I could hear people around me start to get there belongings together so that they could get off the plane first. People returned the magazines to the rack on the back of the chair in front of them and I turned off my iPod and put it back in my bag. It was like putting a hot iron in front of my face. But it felt even worse as there was a slight wind which pushed the heat towards me. My body was surrounded in a blanket of heat and I even started to sweat slightly. My uncle told me to wait by the lift as he went to collect the car so I wouldn t have to walk as far and drag my suitcase along. While I waited, I took time to look around at the surroundings. I could see mountains which stretched towards the clouds and the airport behind me. There were a vast number of people walking around from their flight looking drowsy and with no energy. The frequent red double decker bus also came and a few planes flew above my head. I didn t even have to look, but I could hear the planes departing and arriving. Saul, a neighbor of Mulligan s, comes in through the window after an argument with his wife concerning communication theory and the tendency for noise to screw up your signal, making for disorganization in the circuit. Pynchon also takes the old adage Write what you know and posits an addition to the advice: So as a corollary to writing about what we know, maybe we should add getting familiar with our ignorance and the possibilities therein for ruining a good story. [For more information on the concept of entropy, click on Entropy.] Pynchon is the first to admit, however, that entropy is a difficult concept to get one s head around: he writes, Since I wrote this story I have kept trying to understand entropy, but my grasp becomes less sure the more I read. He beckons us to research the subject and come up with an understanding of it on our own, for, like Callisto, Pynchon seems to feel quite strongly that entropy is a concept metaphorically applicable to many aspects of life. Pynchon credits his major influences in the formulation of Entropy as Henry Adams and Norbert Wiener, author of Cybernetics and the Human Use of Human Beings. He explains that the `theme of the story is mostly derivative of what these two men had to say. Commentary: Entropy is extremely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Background of Social Darwinism Racial profiling is not new, however, and was a theory of sociology in the late 19th century known as Social Darwinism. Incorrectly using Darwin s theory of evolution, the Social Darwinists believed that some species were morally superior to others, and even some races superior to others ADDIN EN.CITE Johnson200813(Johnson)13136Johnson, D.P.The Historical Background of Social DarwinismContemporary Sociological Theories2008New YorkSpringer ( HYPERLINK l _ENREF_4 o Johnson, 2008 #13 Johnson). Public perception, though, believes in favor of seeing race as a reason for crime, and having a considerable fear of anyone outside their own ethnic group depending on the situation. Similarly, much so called organized crime, amounting to billions of dollars annually has similar stereotypes of ethnic origin (e.g. Mafia La Costa Nostra, Russian Mafia, Chinese Triads, Mexican Mafia, etc.). Still, over the past few decades, at least since the Rodney King beating, the use of race by law enforcement, and then after 9/11 by Homeland security, has received considerable political and media attention. One is agog, for instance, at the number of traffic stops that seem to target certain drivers, or the amount of arrests for similar situations focused on minorities. • 10. Magnet Schools Vs Public Schools Essay Quality education can make or break a child s excellent future. So, if you are looking to enroll your child in a good school, it is best to learn the features and benefits of each. Here, we look at the differences and distinct traits of public, private, charter and magnet school, so you are better guided on where to send your little one. Public School Public schools cater to students in the elementary, middle and high school levels. These are usually traditional schools and there are guidelines set by the state as to the means of evaluating and teaching students. Moreover, some public schools accept students depending on the entrance test scores, and the cut off may be high. When it comes to the credentials and qualifications of teachers employed in public schools, these are quite noteworthy. In fact, these teachers are state certified with a bachelor s degree. Once teachers are certified, it means they have undergone training in the state where they are practicing the profession. • 11. The Treaty Of Nuclear Weapons In March 1970, the Treaty of Nuclear Non proliferation came into existence. The treaty sought to inhibit the widespread of the nuclear weapons. At this period, the treaty had one hundred and ninety state parties. There was classification of the state parties into two categories. The first type was the Nuclear Weapon States that consisted of China, France, United States, Russia and the United Kingdom. The other category consisted of non nuclear weapons states. Under the agreement, the five nuclear weapons states committed themselves to pursuing the general and the complete disarmament. On the other hand, the non nuclear weapons states made an agreement of preceding the development or the acquisition of the nuclear weapons. However, despite the emergence of the treaty of the Nuclear Non Proliferation having been in existence for almost fifty years, the worldwide threat of the nuclear weapons remains. In this dissertation, the role of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty in the contemporary global system and the effectiveness of the prevention of the spread of the nuclear weapons is examined. There is also discussion about the comparison and contrast of two interpretations of the NPT. The nuclear non proliferation treaty played the role of mobilization of the states to prevent the multiplication of the nuclear weapons (Nye, 2005). Conversion hysteria is a psychological disorder in which the patients experience physical symptoms but have no evidence of any medical condition. Charcot believed that a traumatic event in someones life could trigger an emotional response that caused these symptoms. Explain Why It Is Important To Be In Control Of Paperwork It is important to be in control of our paperwork; we don t always have control over what we receive in the form of paperwork and most of that tends to come from our mail. What we do have control over is how we deal with this source of clutter. With that in mind, let s look at a good way to deal with our mail. Most people receive mail six days a week, this may depend on your specific location. Sometimes there are days when all that you receive is junk mail mail that serves no purpose other than trying to sell you something or get you to donate money or some other distracting topic. • 14. Descriptive Essay About The Doll Victim 1 Do you ever wonder what it was like in a horror movie? Nothing like a cliche, more like It and maybe a couple others. What a doll that was cursed, able to move on her own and be insane? A doll that can smell a sin miles to acres away and track it down like a hungry bloodhound in the cold winter willing to eat any meat. That s what happened years ago, I thought it was a legend, but never make a sin in front of the doll. You ll wake her from her sleep and she ll take revenge on all humanity to make the world pure. ************************************************ I was five when I got the doll, not giving a care in the world to my surroundings. The doll was weird looking, almost terrifying to look at, but the doll looked to me interestingly enough to keep it and play with. She had a red top hot with a blue ribbon wrapped around it with midnight blue hair by the looks of it with light blue for her bangs, her hair in two ponytails in the upper back part of her head. Her left eye was stitched up and the right though liked like the kind that can be used for any emotion to speak of with the color of ice blue. She had a dress that covered her neck, her upper body and leggings for pants, on the feeling of the material. Her shoulders, forearm, and her nails painted black. Her shoes, just plain black with flat boots, able to take off and put back on. Doll also had pink spider earrings that was very detailed to the very inch. Years later to age ten, was the when it all started. We lived in a quiet town and no need for police officers, but we still had them anyway. The first murder happened when my family went to the movies to see Black Moon. It was such a good movie, when it came out on VHS, I watched and watched that movie, stuck in a time lope and never leaving it. Getting up a few times to use the bathroom, eat and drink. When the movie ended, and left the building, police lights were on and flashing. We thought it was all a prank or to scare us, and it scared us to the point of nightmares. • 15. Holden Caulfield Red Hunting Hat Theme he theme of perpetuating childhood innocence is very important to Holden Caulfield and the book. The significance of this theme is so great, it is manifested into Holden s red hunting hat. The reason why the red hunting hat is linked to the book so much is because of its unusuality. Holden got the hat from a store in New York for a dollar, but he never goes hunting or anything of the sort. Its purpose is to remind him of innocence; Allie and Phoebe s red hair or even as a blankie. In childhood, the blankie is used as a comfort thing it is something warm, familiar, and can protect against monsters. Holden s reluctance to become an adult and his adversities force him into using the hunting hat as a way to cope. Holden is the victim of the world, but he doesn t do much to mitigate the damage. School is an example of his hardships since he cannot comply with the phoniness of the school. Despite his own facade, Holden desperately wishes to fit into the crowd. Since Holden does not fit in and does not pass his classes he must leave Pencey Prep. The war lasted from July 28th, 1914 to November 11th, 1928. There were over a hundred nations involved not only from Europe, but from Asia, Africa, Central America, North America and many Island nations. In the late 19th century and the early 20th century European nations decided to ally with each other out of fear of being attacked. They set up mutual protection pacts. These pacts were designed to help defend their countries if they were invaded. The pacts were known as the Treaty Alliance System. The main pacts that were present before World War One were; Russia and Serbia, Japan and Britain, France and Russia, Germany and Austria Hungary, and Britain, France and Belgium. The US was neutral until the German navy attacked our civilian ships. So if anyone of the countries was attacked it would set off a chain reaction leading to total war. That is exactly what happened. Another reason why war was inevitable was Germany was mobilizing a massive army, stockpiling huge amounts of weapons, and building up its navy at the same time. At the same time Britain was building up a massive navy as well. Germany and Russia s government were increasingly becoming more militarized. Each country was trying to show dominance over the other one. The smallest incident, but the most significant was the assignation of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Archduke Franz Ferdinand was the heir to the thrown for Austria Hungary. Austria Hungary believed that Serbia was involved. That led to Austria Hungary to declare war on Serbia. • 17. The Film Analysis Of The Wizard Of Oz The Wizard of Oz was first filmed in 1939 and has been revised several times to keep up with the time frame at present. It started out as a black and white film and was originally produced by Metro Goldwyn Meyer. Judy Garland is playing the role of Dorothy Gale, who in this film is a restless bored young girl that wants something other than the dreary life she lives in Kansas, (Goodykoontz Jacobs, 2014, Ch. 4.3 para. 1,2) This film focuses on the power of the imagination and gives a place for mental escape and relaxation. The power of the imagination is demonstrated throughout this entire film. It begins with Dorothy ended up in a place called Munchinland that has little people, and is filled with colors and excitement, the opposite of Kansas where everything is black and white. The most magical scene is the scene when Dorothy and her dog, The Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Scary Lion meets the Wizard. When they arrive to their destination an image of a man appears during a blazing fire and thick smoke, and he speaks with authority and control. The fear in Dorothy and her friends is overwhelming to them, especially for the scary lion who faints before he can speak. The cinematography technique is crystal clear in capturing the fear and confusion in the characters, as well as the audience. The special effect in editing allowed the audience to see long views of the face in the fire and smoke and experience the fear along with Dorothy and her friends. The lighting was ... Music is scales and notes. Math is numbers and symbols. Deep in the core of music, music is really math. They also have a strange connection: Music is the only art form where the form and the medium are the same. Math is the only science where the methods and the subject are the same. Math is the study of math using math. Music is only created and experienced as music. Thus, there is a natural connection between mathematics and music: Both are experienced as pure objects of the brain, and both have meaning outside of the brain only by artificial connections. Math and music are both universal. Math is applied across the world to find solutions to everyday problems while music is played around the world and is present in every world culture throughout history. Jesus teachings on adultery are all about the harming of relationships. Everyone who looks at another woman with his lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart . It s clear from this quote that Jesus strongly disagrees with a husband straying from his wife, and he should be faithful and loyal to her. Matthew also held the same view of adultery If your right eyes causes you to sin then tear it out, it s better to lose a member than for your whole body to be thrown in to hell . He proposed five key levels; physiology, safety, belongingness, esteem and self actualisation. Each level needs to be fulfilled to process to the next. This theory is strongly represented within the social services sector and within the care sector (Green, 2009). • 25. Arguments Concerning Firearms Firearms can easily be concealed, so individuals lean toward these types of weapons to use for self defense. Unfortunately, criminals also use these types of weapons and are easy for them to steal; firearms are easily available on the black market; this makes pistols appealing to criminals. Most crimes involving firearms are committed with the use of a pistol; this is a serious problem in society. Although most would agree that something must be done, no one seems to have the answer at this point. Some individuals that support weapons believe that by completely banning firearms would be the best way to protect citizens. However, banning pistols/shotguns fails to protect citizens, because the laws are ineffective, banning firearms prevents individuals from an effective means of self defense, and the law still don t solve the real problem, which is the gun owner. Individuals that supports concealed weapons to be took on campus may claim guns deter crime, and, while some statistics show this to be true, the opposite side of the coin also has evidence to prove this is not the case. First, recent polls suggest college campuses aren t a breeding ground for violence, as suggested by state legislators. Across the board and with most major parties of interest, groups say they feel safe and secure at campuses; even those at reportedly dangerous locations said they feel secured. The doctor in the story seems to decide the old man to be human and that his wings were so logical he wondered why no other man had them. By offering these different perspectives of the angels, the reader wonders what the angel actually is. The angel remains anonymous and ambiguous. Throughout the entire story Marquez refers to it as the angel but he never tells us anything of its origin or purpose. Using the angel completely as a device and nothing else, he leaves the reader to wonder if this character actually is an angel or just a dirty old man. When the angel decides to leave, Papayo and his wife are relieved. They took the angel into their house as a guest but felt it was intrusive towards them. Saying the angel got in the way and scared their new child they looked at it as a nuisance. He makes it very hard for us to determine the goodness of the angel. Even the people who take in the angel condemn it. The people who ridiculed the angel have moved past it. The angel makes no effort to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

May it be ethanol or biodiesel its one step closer to a greener earth. From peanut oil to bark, science is being done to convert plants into energy. Creation of Biofuel Some might think that biofuels are new but they have been in use ever since man discovered fire. Wood is a solid biofuel used for cooking and heating. The types of biofuels are solid gas and liquid. The most common is liquid made popular by the automobile industry as a source of fuel. Biofuel is a fuel that contained energy from once living organisms. Biofuel is created by biomass conversion. Biomass is recently deceased organisms. These recently deceased organisms are converted into a substance called biomass that contains the energy. The biomass will be converted into a fuel using one of these methods: thermal conversion, chemical conversion and biochemical conversion. Thermal conversion is also known as thermal depolymerization, a process using high heat to produce biofuel. Chemical conversion uses various chemicals to produce biofuel. Finally, biochemical conversion uses enzymes, microbes, and catalysts to make biofuel. Generations of Biofuel The two generations of biofuels. • 41. Benjamin Franklin, the Father of Foreign Diplomacy Essay Some people will argue that the true birth of United States of America started with George Washington leading the Continental Army against Great Britain s royal army in pursuit of freedom from foreign dictatorship; seizing the opportunity to create and control their own government in the manner in which they sought fit. One of the major forces in this battle for freedom was the diplomatic travels of Benjamin Franklin. His travels to England and France set the foundation for the dealings in foreign diplomacy that are still in effect today. Without Benjamin Franklin s wisdom, knowledge and courage to address Kings and Parliament on the behalf of the colonies, the American government, as we know it would not exist. Benjamin was born ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Upon his return to the colonies he was elected as the unofficial ambassador to England, and this became a duty that he carried out for many years to come. Over the next decade, hostilities grew between the colonies and England. Benjamin Franklin spent his time as a delegate between the two lands and argued many of the colonies grievances toward Britain s mistreatment. In 1765 at the age of 59, Franklin addressed Parliament regarding the Quartering Bill, which allowed forceful housing of British soldiers in the homes of the Americans. He argued on behalf of the colonies and Parliament amended the bill making the act illegal. During this same year, Parliament passed the Stamp Act as a way of acquiring more money from the colonies. This is where many of Benjamin Franklin s diplomatic duties began. Franklin was called to testify in front of Parliment, A questioner asked: Considering the resolutions of Parliament as to the right, do you think, if the stamp act is repealed, that the North Americans will be satisfied? Franklin responded: I think the resolutions of right will gibe them very little concern, if they are never attempted to be carried into practice. A adversary asked: If the stamp act should be repealed, would it induce the assemblies of America to acknowledge the rights of Parliament to tax them, and would they erase their resolutions [of ... Shaking off a Hell of Dependancy and Creating the Leaping Frog This essay assesses nonviolent actions that could leapfrog current issues perpetuating the Israel Palestine conflict to bring about beneficial inter dependence. To scope potential outcomes I will configure the fundamental interests of both parties, some barriers to reconciliation, then employing principles of Constructivist theory [1], explore harnessing and coordinating the potential of creativity and technology, as well as the influence and goodwill of social media. I conclude that this environment can lead to achievable options providing Israel security and defuse its dominance over Palestine with two independent states [2]. Contemporary outsiders consider Israel and Palestine s bleak circumstance with fatigue, apathy and lack commitment to support further resolutions [3]. This paralysis taps into my reactions as a young adult researching the holocaust which were not diplomatically measured. I was full of horror, disbelief and determined never to stand by silent; silent, facilitating such a thing to occur again. Well, it has not been that simple and enormous transgressions have happened again and again! A daily existence in Hell, pitifully dependant, Palestine clings to futility; while Israel terrified about security, digs its boots in pursuing expansion. Therefore, Willy, which is old and very dreamy, can be considered as the character whose everything turns around him and, even if at first he seems very grumpy, the reader, later on in the play, gets to know that he is very affectionate to his family. Consequently, every single character in this first part of Death of a Salesman , finds himself to fight against the prototypes that the society, during those years, was trying to impose to them. This theme is clearly expressed by the characters of Happy and Biff, and at times by Willy as well: they are all trying to be happy themselves, but at the same time to respect and satisfy what the society whats them to be, and so, therefore, to be the prototype of a young American man living during the era of the American dream. • 47. The United States Bureau Of Land Management 1 The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has stepped in to provide restorative practices upon 500,000 acres of heavily degraded public grasslands. This land is suffering from severe soil erosion as well as degradation due to overgrazing. The suppression of natural fires has caused shrubs and invasive weeds to encroach upon the grasslands. A full scale assessment will take place on this land before restoration efforts begin. The first thing that would need to be assessed is the soil, for it is eroding and holding little nutrient value. Samples would be taken of this soil from various parts of the grasslands including the eroded gullies. Each soil sample would be taken from at least 1 foot below the surface, to test for carbon richness below the topsoil. These would then be tested for texture, density, water retention, and chemical composition. Typically, powerful, healthy soil will contain amounts of both Nitrogen and Phosphorous, which are essential nutrients in sustainable plant growth. These samples would also be tested for any build up of salts, something known as soil salinization. Unhealthy, salinized soil is created over years of over hydrating and deep plowing. Excess water will suffocate root systems of once healthy crops, and salinized soils will reduce crop output up to 20% (Withgott Brennan, 2011). The next assessment would be in the shrubs and invasive weed species on the land. Knowing the volume and location of these plants gives way to a better understanding of ... Beatrice and Benedick as a Couple in William Shakespeare s Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing is a Shakespeare play set in Mecina. It is a comedy, about Don Pedro and his friends. The play focuses on the relationships of the characters, especially that of Beatrice/Benedick and Claudio/Hero. The two romances follow two different ideas, one an average romance in Shakespeare s day, the other a not so average romance. Claudio comments on how the world cannot buy a jewel as great as Hero, and after Don Pedro woos her for him they are set to get married, without any serious problems. The two main relationships the play focuses on are now set, and the two audiences have different views on them. For an audience today to see Hero and Claudio decide to get married so simply would be boring. However, a Shakespearian audience would see this relationship as ordinary, and not be bothered that it was so simple. Although Beatrice and Benedick are not yet shown as in love, a Shakespearian audience would not have thought it usual for a woman like Beatrice to be speaking as she was about Benedick. However, today it is perfectly normal for Beatrice to be talking like she is, so at the moment, the two relationships are more satisfying to the different audiences.
