Window Treatments Essay
The window treatment business is a multi million dollar industry that dates back to the 17th century
around the time of the Industrial Revolution. Even during economic down times consumers frequently
replaced window treatments rather than redoing an entire room. There are over 3500 establishments
that sell window coverings. Window treatments can be very important purchase considering all the
benefits they have to offer. A homeowner will have to consider what their needs are for window
treatments and if ready made or custom made treatments will meet their needs. A homeowner will

Ready made window treatments are mass produced, prefabricated treatments that can be easily found
at most major retailers, discount stores, and a large number of catalog and online stores. This makes
them easily accessible and convenient allowing them to be brought home and hung the same day for
instant gratification. Custom made treatments are a little more involved than driving to a store and
taking the window treatments home. The homeowner will have to decide if they are going to hire a
professional designer or recruit the help from an associate at a retail store that specialize in custom
made treatments. The whole process can take months with more decisions to be made and time to
make them. Another thing a homeowner will have to consider is the size and shape of a window.
Ready made draperies will be available in a limited number of lengths the most common being eighty
four and ninety six inches long which would mean that these would not work well for taller windows
where the draperies would not be long enough to touch the floor. Most ready made panels are offered
in only one width which is usually only sufficient to close over a thirty six inch wide window or
smaller or would be fine if they were meant to be stationary. If a wider width is desired, multiple
panels that are not sewn together would have to be purchased. When pursing the custom avenue one
would find out that custom window

The following paper will present a brief summary of Alan Moore s Watchmen book as well as one of
Declaration, whose authors are Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri. Also, it will critique and analyze
Watchmen through Hardt and Negri s point of view offered by Declaration. Finally, a subjective
argument will be provided regarding a contemporary political dysfunctionality that connects with one
of the ones that can be found in Watchmen.

Grand Cayman Blue Iguana Essay
Introduction: Endangered species is a species which is classified of IUCN (International Union for
Conservation of Nature) to become extinct or in red list species. We can find a lot of endangered
species today; it is because their populations were destroyed by human being from many different
aspects. For examples, illegal logging in the forest destroyed their habitat, farming, and housing of
human. Grand Cayman blue iguana (Cyclura Lewis) is one of the species that people concern about it.
The results of IUCN show that, the population of the Cayman blue iguana has increase from near

Cognitive Development Controversy
There has been much controversy over understanding the social aspects of cognitive development in
children. Some of this controversy is revealed through the differing views that Piaget and Vygotsky
had on the topic of learning amongst children. Piaget theorized that collaboration between same aged
children, who are equal in understanding, promotes cognitive development. He theorized that when
children engage in disagreement during problem solving this promoted more understanding of the
topics at hand. In contrast, Vygotsky reasoned that collaboration between novice and experts would
lead to intellectual growth.
Researchers Ruth Duran and Mary Gauvin hypothesized that the novice planning skills and

Rio Grande Valley Essay
Obama s second term was ending and there was a new president was chosen on January 20,2017 and
this was one of the worst days for the Latinos in RGV aka Rio Grande Valley. This day was when
President Donald J. Trump got in office at the white house every Mexican in the Valley was so
worried about this day because while he was doing his run for president, he said things that offended a
lot of Mexicans and those things he said was Mexicans are Rapists, Criminals and Killers also Trump
said: All Mexicans that are immigrants will go back to Mexico and I will build a wall so immigrants

Another thing that Trump has done to affect us that live in the valley or in Texas, Donald Trump said
that he would renegotiate or break the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). We will
either renegotiate it or we will break it, Trump said during an interview on 60 Minutes, following a
question about how to keep American jobs from moving to Mexico. Because, you know, every
agreement has an end. NAFTA, which has been in effect since the mid 1990s, allows free trade
between the United States, Canada and Mexico. We need fair trade. Not free trade, he said. It s got to
be fair. Trump is not the only GOP candidate to suggest that the U.S. can and should break its
international agreements in some circumstances. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former Arkansas Gov. Mike
Huckabee and former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina all have said they would renege on the Iran
nuclear deal the Obama Administration struck earlier this year. This has a major effect on us because if
the NAFTA brakes the agreement that has been since the 1990 s it would stop everyone that comes to
here for a better job and just stay in Mexico with that the population would decrease and much more
will happen.

The Murray Darling Basin s Natural Environment
Introduction
The Murray Darling Basin is Australia s most iconic and largest river system, covering over 1,000,000
square kilometres, which is 14% of the total area of Australia. It extends from the bottom of
Queensland to South Australia. The Basin is the catchment area for the Murray Darling River located
in the interior of South eastern Australia.
Many of the Basin s natural resources are of high environmental value. It is one of the most significant
agricultural areas in Australia, as it accounts for around $4.8 billion (39% of the national income
derived from agricultural production) of Australia s agricultural output and producing over one third
of Australia s food supply, making it not only of crucial importance to the region, but to the entire
nation. Also, more than 3 million people directly depend on the Basin s water resources.
The Murray Darling Basin s natural environment is continuing to be under threat from natural and
human activities and their consequences. An example of a human activity affecting the Basin is river
regulations and storage. It is recognised as one of the most serious environmental issues in the Basin.
River regulations and storage issues brings enormous strain to the Basin s agricultural communities,
industries, economy, and natural environment.
Several local councils, Government departments, catchment management authorities, including the
Murray Darling Basin Authority, hold the responsibility of managing the Basin s water

The entire penalty box is surrounded by trampolines and which forces athletes to think of completely

goal would have to be shortened by three or four feet as opposed to its original 24 feet in length. The
goals height shall be increased to six feet to prevent the chance of players missing the goal. Time
would have to be decreased in order to ensure that the game is fast paced and increase the excitement

maximum of two full sixty second breaks in the game. This provides both teams with an opportunity

flight home, and contacts his family physician, Dr. Ortega. Dr. Ortega measures his blood pressure at

the other symptoms he describes. Nicholas indicates he only noticed them within the last year.
Q. What might cause the pain in the abdomen, back and legs? Electrocytes imbalances and/or
dehydration.
Q. The viral infection poses a kind of stress. Why might Nicholas have such a severe reaction? He is
already in a compromised state; people who are not healthy have bodies that are not equipped to
handle additional stressors.
Results of the lab tests on Nicholas are summarized below: low serum Na ( 130 mEq/l) high serum K (
5 mEq/l) ? ratio of serum Na:K ( 30:1) elevated hematocrit ? low WBC count decreased plasma
cortisol and aldosterone urine ? shows increased excretion of Na and decreased excretion of K low
levels of hydroxycorticosteroids in the urine
Q. How do the abnormal Na and K levels relate to adrenal function?
The mineralocorticoid (aldosterone) is normally released by the adrenal cortex in response to
decreased sodium and increased pottasium levels; the hormonally acts to promote the retention of Na
and the excretion of K. It isn t working; hence the abnormal serum levels.
Q. What does the high hematocrit means?

Pristine Contentment Essay
Gretel Ehrlich describes her move to Wyoming as awakening from a nap, satisfied in her new home
she becomes absorbed in its tranquility and indifference. She is reborn, starts anew and creates a new
life for herself. Ehrlich even cut her hair and buys new clothes to create a quot;new quot; and different
person. To read and understand this essay means looking deeper into the author s story of rebirth, and
how the big Wyoming skies were healing and put things into perspective for her. Thus, improving her
quality of life without any fillers or distractions.

The air between people is charged. Days unfold, bathed in their own music. Nights become

unnecessary words when it comes to interacting with the people around her. She explains that there is
no vocabulary for the subject of feelings, so, everything that is said is meaningful, even the mere
presence of someone is highly significant. This tells the reader that empty inconsequential chitchat no
longer exists in Ehrlich s world creating a constant consequential silence that is quite sincere.
Another significant part of the essay is when Ehrlich describes fillers, which is Ehrlich s main point of
the essay. This is really relevant to today s society, culture and even pertinent in my view on things.
Ehrlich states, quot;We have a cultural tendency toward denial, but, being affluent, we strangle
ourselves with what we can buy. We have only to look at the houses we build to see how we build
against space, the way we drink against pain and loneliness. We fill up space as if it were a pie shell,
with things whose opacity further obstructs our ability to see what is already there. quot; The
American stereotype views the quality and importance of their lives based on material objects.

The Importance of Numbers in Chemistry
In chemistry, numbers are very important in making calculations as well as collecting and recording
data. Because numbers are so prevalent in this field of study, many chemists find it important to use
very precise numbers. Their best way of doing so is through significant figures. The significant figures
for any number are the numbers that carry meaning contributing to that numbers precision. In order
for a number to be significant, it must follow a series of rules. For example, only zeroes that are
between two non zero numbers or zeroes that both are to the right of a decimal and follow a number
greater than zero can be considered significant figures. In addition, any number greater than zero is
considered a significant figure, despite where it is located in a numerical value. These rules that help
clarify the significant figures of a value are just a few of the many rules that pertain to significant
figures. When it comes to calculations, the rules for the number of significant figures a product or
quotient can have, differs from those of the number of significant figures a sum or difference can. In
multiplication and division calculations, the product and quotient are expected to be rounded to the
same number of significant figures as the least precise piece of data in the calculation. In addition and
subtraction, the sum and difference are expected to be rounded to the same number of decimal places
as the least precise piece of data. In any calculation, the significant

The Contribution of American Women to the Abolitionist...
The Abolitionist Movement changed the course of the nation. In addition to the eventual emancipation
of slaves, it transformed the role of women in American History. During the Abolitionist Movement, it
was thought that the duties of women were confined within the home (Boylan 363). While most
women of the time agreed with this statement, there were many who did not. This change of attitude
started during the Great Awakening (Baker 623). Eliza Wilkinson wrote, I won t have it thought that
because we are the weaker sex as to bodily strength we are capable of nothing more than domestic
concerns (Goldfield, et al. 171). During this time, society was against women leaving the home. Many

A racially integrated group of women formed the Boston Female Anti Slavery Society in October of
1833. This was uncommon for the time period. The society was made up of three different social
classes of women, which caused conflict of interest within the society. The different classes were
white, upper class women, white, middle class women, and elite black women. The upper class though
that the middle class were restricting the ideas of the society, while the middle class thought the
aggressive techniques of the upper class women was atrocious (Hansen 46). Upper class white women
used men s tactics like political protest and public action to spread their cause, while middle class
women used church based techniques, while focusing towards the needs of women and children
(Hansen 63).The elite black women were less interested in policy issues and instead advocated
programs that would provide direct care to the black community (Hansen 46). Slavery was thought of
as a sin by many people, causing many women to leave the church over this disagreement (Petrulionis
389). Many of these women in Boston formed the Anti Slavery Society, which became one of the
nation s biggest and most influential. To wash away the sin of slavery, it was customary for a minister
s wife to be the first president of the Boston Anti Slavery Society; Charlotte Phelps was the first to fill

Innate Immune System
Introduction
Zinc is the 24th most abundant element in the earth s crust, it is a metallic chemical element which has
exceptional biological importance (Bonaventura et al., 2015). Zn is involved in numerous aspects of
cellular metabolism such as: protein synthesis, cellular respiration, wound healing, DNA synthesis,
cell division, and immune function (Bonaventura et al., 2015). For as many essential functions Zn is
necessary for it also has the potential to interact with at least as many biological functions to induce
adverse effects (Maret and Sandstead, 2006). For these reasons Zn deficiency and toxicity is linked to
a number of diseases and particularly immune diseases affecting both the innate and adaptive immune
systems (Bonaventura et al., 2015, Maares and Haase, 2016).Therefore, a disruption in Zn
homeostasis can lead to compromised host defense and an increased risk of excessive inflammation
(Maares and Haase, 2016). Innate immune system. Innate immunity is the first line of defense, it is
regulated delicately by Zn, when Zn homeostasis is altered all kinds of immune cells show a decrease
in function (Ibs and Rink, 2003). When Zn concentrations are depleted, in monocytes all function is
impaired, in NK cells cytotoxicity is reduced, and in neutrophil granulocytes phagocytosis is also
decreased (Ibs and Rink, 2003). Zn deficiency reduces phagocytosis and Zn supplementation has the
opposite effect. The effect on phagocytosis is thought to be mediated by Zn

The Book Thief And V For Vendetta
Autocracy in a government calls for rebellion due to the lack of control and corruption. As a result the
many representations of significant values are elucidated in the novel The Book Thief by Markus
Zusak and the film V for Vendetta by James McTeigue emphasising the concepts of totalitarianism and
rebellion by subjected governments. The Book Thief parallels with the contextual influences of the
Nazi Party ruled by Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. Whereas V for Vendetta draws a direct correlation from
the horrendous acts in Iraq governed by George Bush subsequent to the infamous attack of 9/11. V for

villagers. One man, hoping to cure his blindness, grew 3 new teeth. A cripple, wanting to walk again,
almost won the lottery. A leper even sprouted sunflowers from their sores. These consolation miracles

described as the light of the Sun of Justice that shows the intelligence of the Just (Albornoz,

Angels should also exhibit strong goodwill towards the living. The winged man shows more of the

choses to interpret the scenes in the film. In a documentary the viewer looks that the images in the

widely discussed topic, it is therefore not all that easy to explain such a complicated term in simple

people and industrialized countries use their jobs at the same time job opportunities open up too many

Financial Crisis And Its Effects On Economic Growth
The late half of 1997 and the early parts of 1998 presented the world with one of the world s most
famous financial crises. This financial crisis proved to be detrimental mainly to the south eastern
Asian area, including South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia. The
aforementioned south eastern states recorded astounding economic growth in the preceding decade.
The downfall of the economy caused a domino effect in the local markets and currency markets of
each country. The nations leaders, as a result, had to request assistance from the IMF. Politics were
important in creating the financial boom, but they were also guilty of the subsequent consequences.
Similar to a number of financial crises in the past, the Asian financial crisis came to be as a result of
unexpected economic growth. The countries were all under the influence of a number of different
economic criteria, such as cheap yet fairly well educated labour, lowered barriers to trade, and
economies based heavily on exports. Even Malaysia enjoyed bountiful foreign direct investment. All
of these elements came together to make Asia dominant force in exports. This was proven by the fact
that none of the countries affected by the crisis experienced of export growth lower than 12% between
1990 and 1996. Not only did these countries experience rapid growth in exports, the nature of the
exports where product types are concerned also changed. The products evolved from simple products

What Is The Importance Of Tourism And The Environment
Moreover, tourism and the environment are balancing sectors in terms of vision and goals. The
environment is the right climate for sustainable tourism development, and sustainable tourism focuses
on environmental planning. Perhaps the most important element on which eco tourism is based is not
to disturb the ecological balance resulting from human actions, which are represented by the behavior
of tourists in the case of ecotourism and the pollution it may cause. In addition, natural areas form the
basis for ecotourism from marine tourism and land tourism, and recent studies have shown that eco
tourism generates direct financial resources. What is more, the main objective of ecotourism is to
promote and improve the standards of living of the local community (Kuhdairi, 2012)

Eco tourism has an importance that it helps to achieve different importance. One is keeping
environmental balance and protecting the natural life of land, sea and air from pollution. Therefore, it
is way to protect environment. Another is that sets behavioral controls in the use of materials or
consumption in order to maintain public health and safety, and renew resources. Another importance is
that ecotourism provides easy, simple life away from discomfort, anxiety and stress by preventing

Mobile Payment Technology And The Consumer s Decision...
Mobile payment technology offers benefits to consumers and merchants by providing advanced
payment control and convenience for consumers and an elevated output for merchants.
There are many merchants competing for a portion of the mobile payment, but the lack of cooperation,
standardization and lack of choices from the mobile industry has created the customer confusion that
is associated to the actual technological changes and the evolving mobile competition.
Banks and Mobile technology companies are contending for a part of the portable payment, and they
face some challenges because of the lack of an agreement on the Mobile payment architecture. There
is customer demand for mobile and contactless payments, but some banks and Mobile companies that
want to decide the mobile architecture are affecting the consumer s decision process .
Mobile payments standards like NFC are credited with incorporating the best of Mobile and
contactless payments which will increase the customer s savings. Retailers will benefit from the price
cutback in payment processing. Mobile carriers will also benefit from higher profits from new Mobile
consumers and retailers.
Introduction/Thesis
Mobile and contactless technology had a big support from Asian countries like Japan and the
Philippines, where mobile platforms were launched. In 2002, the European Telecom Standards
Institute issued the first guidelines, Mobile Commerce (M Comm); Requirements for Payment

How To Become A Truck Driver Essay
Get Your CDL And See America
If you re looking for a way to travel the United States and keep working too, then you may want to
think about becoming a truck driver. Depending on the job you get, you could travel all over your state
or all across the country. It s a great way to see the landscape of America from your window as you
roll along the interstate system. Here are a few things you should know.
State Requirements Vary
Each state has its own requirements as far as educational hours and testing for a truck driver s license
goes. However, they must all comply with the federal mandate that you obtain a CDL, which is a
commercial driver s license. There are two types: CDL A and CDL B. If you want to drive a tractor
trailer, you ll test for the CDL A license as that is what you need to drive a truck. The CDL B is needed
if you want to drive a smaller load, such as a local furniture delivery truck or auto hauler. The first step
on a new career as a truck driver is to visit your local DMV to find out the requirements for licensing
in your state. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The safest way to do that is in a controlled environment in truck driving school. The school has private
grounds where you can practice parking and backing up the truck in a stress free environment without
other traffic around. Once you master the basic skills of truck driving, your education continues on the
open road where you learn how to handle a big truck in a variety of situations.
If you already know how to handle a truck, it may still be worth it to get CDL training so you can pass
the DMV test. You ll need to pass a written test and a skills test just like you did for your regular
driver s license. CDL school prepares you for the test so you have a good chance to pass it on your
first attempt and don t waste time you could be

Intersectional Framework Of Criminology
of earlier radical feminists, more contemporary feminist criminologists have since argued for a more
intersectional approach for explaining crime and criminal justice processes (Belknap 2001; Britton
2004; Burgess Proctor 2006; Chesney Lind 2006; Daly 1997; Morash 2006; Potter 2006).
Intersectionality strengthens criminology in many ways. In particular, an intersectional framework is
important because it is applicable to all individuals in that it recognizes how some intersecting social
identities (e.g., white, middle class, men) advantage certain individuals in some respects while
disadvantaging others (e.g., Black, working class, women) (Burgess Proctor 2006). In this way, a more
complete understanding of differences in crime patterns is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Researchers such as Simpson (1989) and Britton (2004) have noted criminology s narrow use of
intersectional perspectives, focusing mostly on whites and Blacks involvement in crime. Both scholars
have advocated strongly for more research examining other racial and ethnic groups (e.g., Asian and
Hispanic) and their relationship to crime. Simpson (1989: 619) specifically notes how feminist
criminologists have often relied on an add race and stir method when it came to studies on gender and
crime, assuming that all women have similar experiences. In order to more fully integrate feminist and
intersectional methods into criminological work, feminist criminologists must recognize that the
standpoint of woman is not monolithic, rather they should approach their research with the
understanding that differences among women exist (Burgess Proctor 2006; Daly and Chesney Lind

Women s Roles And Gender Stereotypes Essay
Women s Roles
The Simpsons is a TV show that airs on the Fox network. During the fifth season, in an episode called
Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy, Lisa challenges the makers of the Malibu Stacy doll to create a less sexist doll.
The original creator of Malibu Stacy teams up with Lisa to create Lisa Lionheart to create a positive
influence for young girls. This episode raised a lot of questions regarding gender roles and
stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are prominent in today s life style. Per gender stereotypes, girls like
princesses and boys like cars. These gender roles, however, do not just apply to children. These roles
are still very prominent in grown up society. The pay gap between men and women Gender roles are a
big part of humankind society.
There is insurmountable evidence that points to the idea that gender stereotypes is largely
accomplished through social factors. Scholars in both sociological and psychological fields believe
that gender is constructed through the modeling of appropriate behaviors and the use of systematic
rewards and punishments. Evidence also shows that many aspects of gender are not innate, as
evidenced by children who do not exhibit a gender specific preference in friends, clothing or toys
when placed in gender neutral settings. Only after negative reactions from parents, teachers, or friends
do many children begin to take on the gender roles society comes to see as appropriate for them.

Coleman And Gouaux Serotonin Case Study
In this paper, Coleman and Gouaux investigate how to inhibit serotonin reuptake specifically in three
antidepressants: sertraline, fluvoxamine, and paroxetine. While it is known that an allosteric site on
the serotonin transporter can be blocked to prevent the reuptake of serotonin, the problem is little is
known about how exactly these ligands are able to bind and prevent the reuptake of serotonin.
Coleman and Gouaux attempt to answer this mystery by pushing sertraline, fluvoxamine, and
paroxetine to bind to the serotonin transporter and then by analyzing X ray structures of these
inhibitors bounded to the transporters.
Background:
Depression is a mental illness categorized by strong feelings of sadness and cognitive changes that can
alter a person s ability to function normally. While research is still being done on what exactly triggers
depression in the brain, a hypothesis on one of the physical causes of feeling depressed is a serotonin
imbalance in the brain. Serotonin is a monoamine neurotransmitter that produces the good feelings in
the brain. Two problems are present in people with depression: either the brain is not producing
enough serotonin or the serotonin transporters are retaking the serotonin too ... Show more content on

Self Driving Cars
Imagine laying in bed watching your favorite movie, playing your favorite video game, or listening to
your favorite song. Now, imagine that on your way to work or to the store. Self driving cars could
make this a possibility. We have been tinkering with ideas for autonomous vehicles for almost a
century and a few companies have even been successful in designing a fully functioning self driving
car. Roads full of these video game esque cars controlled by artificial intelligence or other means of
autonomy may not be as distant in the future as one might think. This, being a drastic change in the
way we travel, could cause many issues. Due to these potential issues, it is in our best interest to raise
questions before we implement these technologies. One possible question is: have we thought out any
ramifications this might cause, and if so, do we have an approach to fix them? Engineers have been
tinkering with ideas for driverless vehicles since the 1920s. In 1925 the first driverless car, named the
Linrrican Wonder, was taken through traffic jams up broadway and across fifth avenue in New York.
The Linrrican Wonder was controlled by a car following behind sending radio signals to small electric
motors. Later, in 1953, RCA Laboratories designed a mini car that ran along wires on the floor. Five
years later, they built a full sized model and demonstrated it by putting detector circuits under the road
that sent signals to the car and controlled the steering and brakes. RCA

Nursing Sensitive Value-Based Purchasing
The article Moving Healthcare Quality Forward with Nursing Sensitive Value Based Purchasing was
written by Kavanaugh, Cimiotti, Abusalem and Coty to show the importance of Nursing Sensitive
Value Based Purchasing (NSVBP). The following paper summarizes the article which addressed the
need for transparency of measures, financial incentives and the importance of skilled nurses as key
factors in improving quality in the current health system. Transparency of measures, a type of value
based purchasing, was outlined as a way to require hospitals to make information regarding various
areas of quality available to the public. Kavanaugh et. al. (2012) described several of these areas
which included incidence of healthcare associated infections (HAIs), hospital acquired conditions
(HACs), process measures, and patient satisfaction surveys. It would serve as a tool for physicians to
know the best places to send their patients when a referral is necessary. This would hold facilities
accountable and at the same time help to improve areas of concern. If hospitals provided this type of
information it would help people to make decisions as to where they could get the best quality care.

The Most Memorable Moments Of The Literacy Of Music
One of the most memorable moments of learning literacy would be the first time I learned how to read
music. Ever since I can remember my family was huge on music. My dad and my two sisters played
guitar. They were singers and song writers. We listened to music religiously, causing me to be a huge
fan and later resulting in making me want to play an instrument. Growing up, my sister played clarinet
in band, watching her made me want to follow in her footsteps. Anytime she would practice in her
room, I would follow her and bug her until she would let me try to play. Instead of letting me touch
her three hundred dollar clarinet, she let me press the keys down while she played. Although, I wasn t
really playing, I was in awe. From that moment on, I thought the art to learning how to play an
instrument was beautiful. It was exactly like a new language, but spoken through chimes, rings, and
dings. Just like that, I fell in love with the literacy of music.
When I reached the fifth grade, our school had an assembly about joining band during the second
month of school. My class walked to our middle school gym where a room that looked like a circus
lied ahead. There were instruments spread out all over the room polished, looking brand new. Our
band instructor introduced all the instruments to us by sections (brass, percussion, woodwinds, etc.)
Each section stepped up to the front and let their instruments shine. I was completely blown away by
how unique each instrument sounded with

for the war the built a VA hospital in his name. This is amazing because, if you ask any veteran who
Mr. murphy is they all know. All because of stuff like this also that kids are learning about his life
also. Audie never let the thought of others go over his head he always put others thought before his
own. In an effort to draw attention to the problems of returning Korean War and Vietnam War
veterans, Murphy spoke out candidly about his own problems with posttraumatic stress disorder

audience would be introduced to her unconventional style of writing. Wise Blood, like most of her
work, would be about the battle of sin and redemption in some form. This constant battle is faced by a
man named Hazel Motes in Wise Blood. An interesting character to say the least, he had problems
within his mind, how he was raised, and a constant battle with his views of Jesus Christ. Throughout

Once he realizes the wrong he has done, he does not know how to truly repent, so he turns to self harm

Jesus had to offer at the time. Instead, like an article states, Not knowing how to repent with love he

because all he wants to do is glorify God now. His repentances go to extreme levels, as an article

lined with rocks and glass shards (1). In his mind, he does not think he will ever be accepted by Christ
for what he has done. But truly, he was forgiven, because God is almighty and loves those people that
come to him. Jesus was Hazel s greatest object of desire. Jesus was always in the back of his mind,
even during his stint as an anti preacher. Such as this sentence from an article, that says, ragged figure

Window treatments can be very important purchase considering all the benefits they have to offer. Ready made window treatments are mass produced, prefabricated treatments that can be easily found at most major retailers, discount stores, and a large number of catalog and online stores. This makes them easily accessible and convenient allowing them to be brought home and hung the same day for instant gratification. The homeowner will have to decide if they are going to hire a professional designer or recruit the help from an associate at a retail store that specialize in custom made treatments. The whole process can take months with more decisions to be made and time to make them. Another thing a homeowner will have to consider is the size and shape of a window. Most ready made panels are offered in only one width which is usually only sufficient to close over a thirty six inch wide window or smaller or would be fine if they were meant to be stationary. If a wider width is desired, multiple panels that are not sewn together would have to be purchased. When pursing the custom avenue one would find out that custom window ... • 14. The Importance of Numbers in Chemistry In chemistry, numbers are very important in making calculations as well as collecting and recording data. Because numbers are so prevalent in this field of study, many chemists find it important to use very precise numbers. Their best way of doing so is through significant figures. The significant figures for any number are the numbers that carry meaning contributing to that numbers precision. In order for a number to be significant, it must follow a series of rules. For example, only zeroes that are between two non zero numbers or zeroes that both are to the right of a decimal and follow a number greater than zero can be considered significant figures. In addition, any number greater than zero is considered a significant figure, despite where it is located in a numerical value. These rules that help clarify the significant figures of a value are just a few of the many rules that pertain to significant figures. When it comes to calculations, the rules for the number of significant figures a product or quotient can have, differs from those of the number of significant figures a sum or difference can. In multiplication and division calculations, the product and quotient are expected to be rounded to the same number of significant figures as the least precise piece of data in the calculation. In addition and subtraction, the sum and difference are expected to be rounded to the same number of decimal places as the least precise piece of data. In any calculation, the significant ... • 16. Innate Immune System Introduction Zinc is the 24th most abundant element in the earth s crust, it is a metallic chemical element which has exceptional biological importance (Bonaventura et al., 2015). Zn is involved in numerous aspects of cellular metabolism such as: protein synthesis, cellular respiration, wound healing, DNA synthesis, cell division, and immune function (Bonaventura et al., 2015). For as many essential functions Zn is necessary for it also has the potential to interact with at least as many biological functions to induce adverse effects (Maret and Sandstead, 2006). For these reasons Zn deficiency and toxicity is linked to a number of diseases and particularly immune diseases affecting both the innate and adaptive immune systems (Bonaventura et al., 2015, Maares and Haase, 2016).Therefore, a disruption in Zn homeostasis can lead to compromised host defense and an increased risk of excessive inflammation (Maares and Haase, 2016). Innate immune system. Innate immunity is the first line of defense, it is regulated delicately by Zn, when Zn homeostasis is altered all kinds of immune cells show a decrease in function (Ibs and Rink, 2003). When Zn concentrations are depleted, in monocytes all function is impaired, in NK cells cytotoxicity is reduced, and in neutrophil granulocytes phagocytosis is also decreased (Ibs and Rink, 2003). Zn deficiency reduces phagocytosis and Zn supplementation has the opposite effect. The effect on phagocytosis is thought to be mediated by Zn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Intersectional Framework Of Criminology of earlier radical feminists, more contemporary feminist criminologists have since argued for a more intersectional approach for explaining crime and criminal justice processes (Belknap 2001; Britton 2004; Burgess Proctor 2006; Chesney Lind 2006; Daly 1997; Morash 2006; Potter 2006). Intersectionality strengthens criminology in many ways. In particular, an intersectional framework is important because it is applicable to all individuals in that it recognizes how some intersecting social identities (e.g., white, middle class, men) advantage certain individuals in some respects while disadvantaging others (e.g., Black, working class, women) (Burgess Proctor 2006). In this way, a more complete understanding of differences in crime patterns is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Simpson (1989: 619) specifically notes how feminist criminologists have often relied on an add race and stir method when it came to studies on gender and crime, assuming that all women have similar experiences. In order to more fully integrate feminist and intersectional methods into criminological work, feminist criminologists must recognize that the standpoint of woman is not monolithic, rather they should approach their research with the understanding that differences among women exist (Burgess Proctor 2006; Daly and Chesney Lind 1988; Flavin 2004; Simpson ... During the fifth season, in an episode called Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy, Lisa challenges the makers of the Malibu Stacy doll to create a less sexist doll. The original creator of Malibu Stacy teams up with Lisa to create Lisa Lionheart to create a positive influence for young girls. This episode raised a lot of questions regarding gender roles and stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are prominent in today s life style. Per gender stereotypes, girls like princesses and boys like cars. These gender roles, however, do not just apply to children. These roles are still very prominent in grown up society. The pay gap between men and women Gender roles are a big part of humankind society. There is insurmountable evidence that points to the idea that gender stereotypes is largely accomplished through social factors. Scholars in both sociological and psychological fields believe that gender is constructed through the modeling of appropriate behaviors and the use of systematic rewards and punishments. Evidence also shows that many aspects of gender are not innate, as evidenced by children who do not exhibit a gender specific preference in friends, clothing or toys when placed in gender neutral settings. • 32. Coleman And Gouaux Serotonin Case Study In this paper, Coleman and Gouaux investigate how to inhibit serotonin reuptake specifically in three antidepressants: sertraline, fluvoxamine, and paroxetine. While it is known that an allosteric site on the serotonin transporter can be blocked to prevent the reuptake of serotonin, the problem is little is known about how exactly these ligands are able to bind and prevent the reuptake of serotonin. Coleman and Gouaux attempt to answer this mystery by pushing sertraline, fluvoxamine, and paroxetine to bind to the serotonin transporter and then by analyzing X ray structures of these inhibitors bounded to the transporters. Background: Depression is a mental illness categorized by strong feelings of sadness and cognitive changes that can alter a person s ability to function normally. While research is still being done on what exactly triggers depression in the brain, a hypothesis on one of the physical causes of feeling depressed is a serotonin imbalance in the brain. Serotonin is a monoamine neurotransmitter that produces the good feelings in the brain. Now, imagine that on your way to work or to the store. Self driving cars could make this a possibility. We have been tinkering with ideas for autonomous vehicles for almost a century and a few companies have even been successful in designing a fully functioning self driving car. Roads full of these video game esque cars controlled by artificial intelligence or other means of autonomy may not be as distant in the future as one might think. This, being a drastic change in the way we travel, could cause many issues. Due to these potential issues, it is in our best interest to raise questions before we implement these technologies. One possible question is: have we thought out any ramifications this might cause, and if so, do we have an approach to fix them? Engineers have been tinkering with ideas for driverless vehicles since the 1920s. In 1925 the first driverless car, named the Linrrican Wonder, was taken through traffic jams up broadway and across fifth avenue in New York. The Linrrican Wonder was controlled by a car following behind sending radio signals to small electric motors. Later, in 1953, RCA Laboratories designed a mini car that ran along wires on the floor. Five years later, they built a full sized model and demonstrated it by putting detector circuits under the road that sent signals to the car and controlled the steering and brakes. RCA ... Nursing Sensitive Value-Based Purchasing The article Moving Healthcare Quality Forward with Nursing Sensitive Value Based Purchasing was written by Kavanaugh, Cimiotti, Abusalem and Coty to show the importance of Nursing Sensitive Value Based Purchasing (NSVBP). The following paper summarizes the article which addressed the need for transparency of measures, financial incentives and the importance of skilled nurses as key factors in improving quality in the current health system. Transparency of measures, a type of value based purchasing, was outlined as a way to require hospitals to make information regarding various areas of quality available to the public. Kavanaugh et. al. (2012) described several of these areas which included incidence of healthcare associated infections (HAIs), hospital acquired conditions (HACs), process measures, and patient satisfaction surveys. It would serve as a tool for physicians to know the best places to send their patients when a referral is necessary. This would hold facilities accountable and at the same time help to improve areas of concern. • 36. The Most Memorable Moments Of The Literacy Of Music One of the most memorable moments of learning literacy would be the first time I learned how to read music. Ever since I can remember my family was huge on music. My dad and my two sisters played guitar. They were singers and song writers. We listened to music religiously, causing me to be a huge fan and later resulting in making me want to play an instrument. Growing up, my sister played clarinet in band, watching her made me want to follow in her footsteps. Anytime she would practice in her room, I would follow her and bug her until she would let me try to play. Instead of letting me touch her three hundred dollar clarinet, she let me press the keys down while she played. Although, I wasn t really playing, I was in awe. From that moment on, I thought the art to learning how to play an instrument was beautiful. It was exactly like a new language, but spoken through chimes, rings, and dings. Just like that, I fell in love with the literacy of music. When I reached the fifth grade, our school had an assembly about joining band during the second month of school. My class walked to our middle school gym where a room that looked like a circus lied ahead. There were instruments spread out all over the room polished, looking brand new. Our band instructor introduced all the instruments to us by sections (brass, percussion, woodwinds, etc.) Each section stepped up to the front and let their instruments shine.
