Essay The Iron Triangle and Heclo s Policy of Issue Networks
Heclo s policy of issue networks is a new way of dealing with the connection between politics
and its administration. Previously, the Iron Triangle was the way that the connection was dealt
with. The Iron Triangle concept described the major players as congress, career bureaucrats and
large interest groups. It was said that the groups had a give and take kind of relationship and
eventually led to a reasonably easy way to create policy while somewhat satisfying each of the
groups. Basically, the Congress passes laws, Bureaucrats implement the laws and the interest
groups support the congress. However Heclo describes the new way of doing business in
Washington. Heclo does not say the Iron Triangle theory is wrong he just says that... Show more

Heclo describes these groups as varied and operating on many different levels. We may have a
small group that is very vocal and show up at meetings but do not reflect the majority of people.
We may have a professor or expert who is called by legislators for advice or to clarify some part
of policy. Also, people are more involved and well read on issues and understand the issues more
completely. There are a few problems with this way of doing things and we can look at the
Reinventing School Lunch policy to see how this system can be effective and also cause some
delays and problems. The original goal of the food lunch program was to feed malnourished
school children and to help farmers by buying up some of their extra crops and commodities.
This program worked well for 50 years and was a popular and accepted program. In the 1990 s
the program was looked at and it was determined to look at and reinvent the school lunch
program. There were many players in this reinvention and we have Helen Haas who is the head
of the food and nutrition services. She is the lady who develops a feud with the School food
service association. There are also other players in the story including, school food workers, parent
and teacher groups, the farmers, dietary advocacy groups, the dairy council, meat council, and
various health groups. The

The Environmental Movement Of North Dakota
In the spring of 2016, an environmental movement began in North Dakota that today, is making
history. In Cannonball, North Dakota, Native Americans have gathered to protest the Dakota
Access Pipeline; resulting in one the largest gatherings of Native Americans from multiple tribes
the United States has witnessed in over a century (Northcott, 2016). One tribe in particular, the
North DakotaStanding Rock SiouxTribe, have been leading and organizing the protest against the
construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The Standing Rock reservation is located in the Sioux
and Ziebach counties within the North Dakota and South Dakotaborder; the Sioux people are the
primary tribe of the area. According to Trymaine Lee of MSNBC, the counties are a part of the
top 10 poorest counties in the country, and that it has a history with water distresses. In the early
1960s, five dams located at Lake Oahe in Standing Rock gave way and flooded 200,000+ acres,
destroying nearly all natural resources and wildlife at the river bottom, as well as destroying towns
within the reservation and sacred ancestral lands and sites. This was a devastating tragedy for the
people of Standing Rock, and it seems that history is repeating itself with the proposed construction
of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The pipeline poses many hazardous threats, and these threats
outweigh any economic benefit the proponents may promise. It threatens the environment, water
supplies, historical land, and only adds to the

Bipolar Disorder ( Disorder )
Bipolar disorder, manic episode, is represented by persistently elevated or irritable mood and
abnormal and persistent increase of goal directed activity or energy that lasts more than a week
(DSM 5). Most of the time, the client presents with inflated self esteem and grandiosity (DSM
5). In addition, only three hours of sleep may be enough for the patient to feel rested because he
/she has a drecreased need for sleep (Tracy, 2012). Usually, the person presents with a pressure to
talk without taking any break and is seen more talkative than he/she frequently is (DSM 5).
Another symptom presented in the bipolar disorder, manic episode is flight of ideas or subjective

Even though most of the patients fully return to a functional level between the crises,
approximately 30% of them report having severe difficulties in their work role function (Goodwin
Jamison, 2007). When the patient has acute mania, Haloperidol is the most used medication for its
properties of rapid sedation (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). Another medication that is used is IM
olanzapine to calm acute manic agitation (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). When the patient has
extreme hyperactivity, typical antipsychotics are used to relieve symtoms of dehydration and
cardiovascular stress (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). Lithium is a very common medication given to
a patient with manic episodes (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). One important aspect to take into
account with Lithium is that the dose should be administered downward as the mania starts to
diminish to keep the blood level in a reasonable range (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). Bipolar disorser
can be severe and long term, or it can be mild with frequent episodes (Simon, 2013). Patients with
bipolar disorder frequently have higher rates of death from suicides, heart problems than the rest
of the population (Simon, 2013). On the other hand, a patient that receives treatment has a greater
chance of survival (Simon, 2013). Based on the possible causes of bipolar disorders, which are

Welter Weight of Plant Growing
Welter Weight of plant growing: Water VS other liquids
Purpose of Project The purpose of this project is to see if there is a difference in how plants grow
based on what they are watered with. By watering five different plants with five different liquids
and measuring them daily we will prove or disprove the hypothesis.
Problem of the Project Different liquids contain different additives and nutrients that could
potentially affect the growth of a plant. This project will reveal how different liquids affect the
growth of plants. Various research has been done that will support the problem of what liquid can
stimulate the growth of a plant more successfully. By measuring each plant after watering them
with the six liquids, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The water container had the most growth and produced two plants one on day 7 and one on day 8
which indicated both seeds had germinated. Each plant produced one leaf (both on day 10). The
leaves were light green in color and had a firm texture.
The milk container was the only other container that had any growth at all. On day 11, one sprout
appeared and curled up from the soil; however, the stem never emerged and by day 13, it had died.
No other pot produced a plant.
Processed Data:
Data Analysis:
Given the information, the only liquid good for the bean seeds was the water. Plant growth day 11
The major result of this experiment was that water was the only liquid that would produce a bean
plant. Milk did germinate a seed, but was unable to support the growth of the plant. No other liquids
used in the experiment produced a bean sprout.
Research Conclusion:
In the hypothesis, the purpose of the experiment was to discover a liquid that provided the best
plant growth. When the experiment started, it was hypothesized there would

Celebrity Culture and Fashion Trends
Although celebrity culture is typically associated with actors and actress, consumers may also rely
on the trustfulness and credibility of politicians and first wives when deciding fashion trends. In
the 1960s, fashion icon Jackie Kennedy took over the fashion industry (Joel 1). She appealed to
many stay at home women because she was commonly known to have a sophisticated simplicity
(Joel 1) approach to fashion. Her successor, First Lady Michelle Obamahas instantly become a
fashion icon herself as well. She is commonly seen wearing American designers therefore
pushing the American fashion industry into the international spotlight (Givhan 1). People are
often so draw to her style because it gives a glance into her personal life. As Givhan states,
Obama s clothes have connected with the public in contemporary terms, in the language of
Hollywood s glamour, Seventh Avenue s bold entrepreneurship and the democracy of the mass
market (Givhan 1). In March 2009, Michelle Obama appeared on the cover of US Vogue which
showcased her dress, style, and poise (Gibson 40). Brett Schenck, president of Hart Schaffner
Marx states, It s usually the frenzy behind the first lady (Jones), but in the some instances,
President Obama has also made an impact on the fashion industry. In the summer of 2009,
designer Donatella Versace created a runway show that was designed and dedicated to him. The
clothes she created where inspired by President Obama because it showcased a relaxed man

Sports Injury Litigation
Parent s Top Concerns for Potential Sports Injury Litigation
There are few things more intertwined than sports, and American s love of watching and playing
sports. This dynamic is a fundamental part of who we are as a nation. Unfortunately, like anything
else in life, there is a real possibility of being injured while playing sports, or watching sports as a
spectator.
However, determining who is responsible for sports injuries can be a difficult process given the
nature of sports and its inherent unpredictability. Most injuries to participants or bystanders are
simply bad luck or occur under conditions that no one can anticipate or prepare for. The following
are some legitimate questions and concerns pertaining to injuries incurred while ... Show more

A New Class of Football Injury: Abdominal Injuries
It is not just concussions that atheletes and their families should be concerned about. Many high
school players have experienced severe, even fatal, abdominal injuries, necessitating the
introduction of a new generation of safety features to existing equipment. Are such improvements
being implemented in a conscientious manner?

Creating A Copy For Your Website Essay

5 Simple Ways to Create Effective Copy For Your Website
A high quality website is an essential element of your business s digital marketing strategy, and
the copy used across your site and any associated social media pages will be key to your success.
Ineffective copy could cause potential customers to quickly click away, losing you business and
preventing your brand s message from being delivered. Make sure you give your customers a good
reason to stick around with these 5 simple tips.
1.Know your audience. Understanding who your audience is and how they speak is crucial to
creating the right tone for your web copy. For example, if your brand targets a younger
demographic then a more casual tone with current slang will work well, whereas an older audience
may expect a more formal tone that reflects their voice. Thorough market research will ensure that
you know who your audience is and what they want from your brand.
2.Make sure it s readable. Large blocks of texts, small fonts, and uncomfortable colour schemes will
all make your web copy less accessible for your reader. Bullet pointed lists, shorter paragraphs, clear
headings and a well designed page will keep your copy clean and readable at all times.
3.Opt for creative headlines. The headline is the bait you use to draw your audience in, so make
sure the copy is bold,

Essay about Comparing Oceania in 1984 and the USA
Comparing Oceania in 1984 and the USA
This paper will discuss the similarities and differences between the Oceanic society of Orwell s
Nineteen Eighty Four and the society of the United States. First I will talk about the similarities
and then I will finish off with the differences, all of which will be based on factual information that
I have gathered both, from the book and the mainstream media. Then I will finish by coming to a
conclusion to an opinion I have and whether the government systems are more similar or different.
In order to do so, I had to ask myself some important questions like: Is the telescreen in the book
the same as the cameras at work watching us or the satellites the government has in space that can
see you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These people, for whom the government really does not care, are seen as a burden.
The overall conclusion to this statement is that the classes are divided with different opportunities
and even though not as much as the government officials in the book, the upper classes still have
more freedom to excel and do as they please.
The second similarity is that both governments believe that ?War is Peace.? We saw in the book
that the government of Oceania believed that the only way to have peace was through war and
strength. They would at one time be peaceful with one of the two other two countries in the
world, Eurasia or Eastasia, while waging war against the other. The government would also use
excuses on why they were waging war. The same is here in The United States. We went to Iraq
for reasons that some feel were not justified while others feel differently. The main argument of
the opposition was that we went to war with Iraq on the basis that they had weapons of mass
destruction and so forth but non were found. The question that I want to ask is: Were we lied to as
the people in Oceania were?
The third similarity is that both governments have their hands and control in every aspect of
society?s life. Also the government spies on their citizens. In the book we saw Oceania had
absolute control over people?s life. Even though the control that the United State government has
over people?s lives these days is not as great as the one in the book, they still interfere

How Is Atticus Finch Courageous
Courage is an interesting word. Courage can be a feeling or an act. In the novel To Kill a
Mockibngbird the characters Mrs Dubose, Tom Robinson and Atticus Finch all demonstrate
what true courage really is. The first character I will discuss is Mrs Dubose. Mrs Dubose is a very
old woman battling an illness and a morphine addiction. Secondly, I will discuss Tom Robinson.
Tom is a black man who is (falsely) accused of rape by Mayella Ewell. Finally I will explain why
Atticus Finchis courageous. Atticus is the father of the novels narrator Scout or Jean Louise Finch.
All three characters demonstrate great bravery throughout the novel, each have their hardships and
each try to push through the adversity to their best ability.
To begin, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a reader, I found Atticus to be the most courageous character in the novel. The reasons behind
this statement are that Atticus defends a black man in court, he stands up to the lynch mob in
front of the jailhouse and because he can fight without words. First, Atticus is very valorous for
taking the Tom Robinson case. For a white man to be acquainted with a black man who was not
his slave was rather sporadic. Even after all of the physical and verbal abuse Atticus took he kept
his word and defended Tom for all he was worth. I can t stay here all day and this summer is
going to be a hot one. (Atticus, Page 128) As a reader, this was the greatest act of courage
executed in the novel. For Atticus to risk his respect, family and life to protect a black man took
great bravery and sacrifice. Secondly, Atticus protected Tom from he lynch mob at the jailhouse.
As the men poured out of the car towards Atticus, he was undaunted buy the moving shadows
approaching him. In ones and twos, men got out of the cars. Shadows became substance as lights
revealed solid shapes moving toward the jail door. Atticus remained where he was. (Scout, Page
152 153) Atticus fearlessly confronted the mass of angry men and reasoned with them until there is
an interruption courtesy of Scout. This event proves that Atticus is very brave because he came up
against a whole mob and did not back down. Finally, Atticus is

The Story Of Camelot Castle
Little did Mithian know that joining a flurry of Councillors rushing towards the Great Court would
be a terrible idea. But, with the fresh air having brought a healthy glow to her cheeks, and her hair
slightly ruffled from a spirited walk around archways, fields and Courtyard, everything seemed
interesting.
She had soon learned that Camelot Castle was the kind of place where you could find everything by
following the crowd. Over a week into her stay, and the chatter still lifted her heart. What was going
on? Another Knighting ceremony, or other celebration?
Rather than heading towards the Court used when she arrived in Camelot, tearfully luring Arthur
to his death, the crowd swerved to the right and down several more corridors until they reached
two great oak doors. The guards opened them and Mithian gasped in delight. Rather than the lower
arched ceiling she remembered, this ceiling stretched forever into the sky, its windows sparkled
with sunlight, making each pane look like a sheet of diamonds and at the far end, she saw two
Thrones adorned with intricate decorations. The King and Queen were already seated, discussing
something in low voices.
Pausing, Mithian studied them with a strange feeling in her stomach of either envy nor admiration.
And then shaking her head, she went to find a good place to stand as the seats had already been
taken by Knights and Councillors. An aisle separated the two crowds and and several men,
including a Lord she vaguely recognized from

Influence Of Modern Western Government
Their political structure has influenced modern Western government. The Roman language, Latin,
is the root of many other languages like English, Spanish, and French.
The Roman Empire (cont.)
Formation After the fall of the Qin Dynasty in 207 B.C., 18 separate political forces proclaimed
their independence, but the Han and Chu were the most powerful out of them. In 202 B.C., Liu
Bang won the Chu Han Contention and found the Han dynasty, which ruled China for the next 400
years.
Cultural Traditions Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism were introduced during this era.
Education became important as schools were built everywhere. Public school was started and
reserved for boys to learn new skills for free. Painting and calligraphy were now seen as forms of
art and not as ways of making signs and letters. The invention of paper made it easier for scholars
to record their ideas, thus leading to the boom in literature. Following the introduction of loom, silk
soon became an important part of the Han culture and economy

Footloose Movie Analysis
Footloose Tonight I gotta cut loose, footloose, kick off my sunday shoes. Jack, get back, come
on before we crack. (Footloose, Kenny Loggins) For this essay, I chose to watch Footloose made
in 1984 and directed by Herbert Ross and Footloose made in 2011 directed by Craig Brewer.
Both movies centered around the town of Bomont, a secluded town with out of the ordinary
beliefs. In this town, dancing and partying of any sort was strictly against the law and teenagers
were seemingly miserable. There was little to no self expression and even listening to provocative
music or any music too loud, could get you a ticket with a hefty fine. The reason behind the strict
rules is that several years back, five teens from Bomont High School died in a car wreck after they
were drinking and dancing too much. Each of these movies have some things in common, but have
more differences than anything. Some of the main differences are the opening creditsof each movie,
how and who Ren arrives to Bomont at the beginning of the movie, the chicken races between
Ren and Jeff, and the book burning in town square. In the 1984 version, the movie opens with the
song Footloose and the first thing the viewers see is the shoes and feet of many different people
dancing. One of the major things that you notice is the type and style of the shoes such as leg
warmers and socks with heels which tells you what era the movie was made in. As the credits roll
across the screen, the music continues to

The Discovery Of Interstellar Travel
The idea of interstellar travel was explored methodically in order to answer why one would want to
travel to other stars, where in space could humanity realistically travel to, what factors are
preventing mankind from reaching these stars and how can they could be overcome. The
inquisitiveness of the human mind and the fact that Earth will not be habitable forever is a
substantial motivation in favour of interstellar travel. The main requirement for a habitable planetis
that it is in the Habitable Zone where it is not too close nor too far from the starit is orbiting, but is
situated where the water on the surface of the planet is in liquid form. There are many issues
that limit one s ability to travel to the stars. The most significant issue being the vast distances
between the stars and the time it would take for the journey to be complete, which would
permanently damage the human body. The most promising rocket that could handle the voyage
would be a nuclear rocket, however there are still many developments that need to be made in
that field to render it a strong possibility. One of the biggest reasons as to why humanity wishes
to explore interstellar travel is to fuel its curiosity. Civilization would not be where it is today if it
wasn t for the previous species desire to discover more about the universe in which they lived.
Many speculate that the idea of voyaging across the universe to other stars is straightforward as it
portrayed this way in

Melting Point Range Of Unknown 8 And Maleic Acid
The results in Table 1 from part 1 of the experiment are accurate in melting point ranges for each
compound. The samples went from a powdery white to a clear liquid. Urea is a little bit higher
than from its melting point range of 132В°C 133В°C and trans cinnamic acid is in its melting
point range of 132В°C 135В°C. They are both pure compounds because they stayed relatively
close to their melting point ranges. The 50/50 mixture has a lower melting point and a broader
melting point range because each compound acts as an impurity in the other. The results in Table
2 from part 2 of the experiment have higher melting points than their supposed melting point
range. The samples went from a powdery white to a clear liquid. The unknown 8 compound was
guessed to be maleic acid since its melting point was in the range 137В°C 140В°C. For the final
trial, however, both unknown 8 and maleic acid had higher melting points out of the range and the
50/50 mixture melted first. This was because the maleic acid used was made from two different
salts causing the melting point to be slightly off. In this case, maleic acid is the correct compound

The Concept of Ad-hoc Networking
Ad hoc networking is a concept in computer communications, which allows users wanting to
communicate with each other to form a temporary network, without any form of centralized
administration or infrastructure. Each node participating in the network acts both as host and as
router and must therefore be willing to forward packets for other nodes. For this purpose, an
efficient routingprotocol is needed.
The goal of this research is to design a flexible and efficient routing scheme for a mobile ad hoc
network (MANET). Because a MANET is composed of wireless mobile computing devices forming
an ad hoc network without existing wired infrastructure or base stations, the network topology
changes frequently. Hence, routing in such a dynamic environment is a challenging task. Some
previous routing schemes in mobile ad hoc networks include Dynamic Source Routing (DSR),
Cluster Based Routing Protocol (CBRP), and Temporally Ordered Routing Protocol (TORA),
Mobile Agent Based Routing Protocol (MARP) among others.
In MANETs congestion occurs due to the packet loss and it can be successfully reduced by
involving congestion control scheme which includes routing algorithm and a flow control at the
network layer [1].
A Mobile Agent starts from every node and moves to an adjacent node at every time. A node
visited next is selected at the equivalent probability. The MA brings its own history of movement
and updates the routing table of the node it is visiting [1].

INTRODUCTION
Terrorism is not new and though it was seen since the beginning of recorded history it is hard to
define. The earliest known organisation was the Zealots of Judea. The Assassins were the next
group to show recognizable characteristics of terrorism, as we know today. Though both Zealots
and Assassins operated in antiquity, they are relevant today as forerunners of modern terrorists in

Weapons technology has become more increasingly available, and the purchasing power of terrorist
organisations is on the rise. The ready availability of both technology and trained personnel to
operate it with sufficient cash allows the well funded Governmental counter measures.
The age of modern terrorism i.e. internationalisation of terror might be said to have begun in 1968
when the popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) hijacked an airliner en route from Tel
Aviv to Rome. Thos internationalisation of terror was progressed by the way of cooperative
training between Palestinian groups and the Japanese Red Army which began in 1974. Since then
international terrorist has continued to grow and continues to this day.
In beginning it was confined to Kashmir only. But now it has a larger footprint and it is
spreading all over the country. Before going to mention some of the more recent incidents, let us
remember worst act of terrorism in the history of mankind namely the demolition of World Trade
Centre of USA on 11th September, 2001. Surat, Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai all have seen some big
terrorist strikes in the past. North eastern part of the country also becomes target of the terrorist.
Tamilnadu has also faced fall out of terrorism promoted by the Liberation Tiger of Tamil Eelam
(LTTE) in Srilanka. In early eighties there lighted a spark of terrorism in Punjab and the demon of
terrorism took the life of thousand peoples.

Of Abraham Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln And The President Of...
War is chaos and the devil itself. It represents the cruelty and darkness in the human heart. In
1861, a Civil War broke out between the North and the South. A soldier who served in the Civil
War said in a letter to his parents, Many became ill from exposure and starvation, and were left on
the road. ( Letters and Diaries, 1862) The war continued for four years and was considered by
historians as the most devastating war the United Stateshas witnessed. Nonetheless, the Civil War
produced two of the most brilliant minds in American history: Abraham Lincolnand Nathan Bedford
Forrest. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States of America, served as the main
strategist for the North during the Civil War and Nathan Bedford Forrest was a Lieutenant
General in the Confederate Army. Both Lincoln and Forrest came from humble origins and
worked their way to success. However, Lincoln gained his position as a President by using his
tact and diplomacy although he was not appreciated for his clever decisions and authority while
Forrest became a General through aggression and was praised by the South as a great tactician and
a war hero. Abraham Lincoln s endeavor and success in granting equal rights for African American
will remain forever in the heart of later generations.
First, Abraham Lincoln and Nathan Bedford Forrest were not blessed with fortune and opportunity

European Union Dbq
At the end of World War 2, most countries in Europe were in a wreck. Cities were decimated and
economy was failing, it was the time to rebuild. The European Union was an effective way to help
Europe rebuild. The EU first started as just a common market for steel and coal, but quickly grew
into a union of countries united as one. It is a great opportunity for countries in Europeas the it was
created for the sole purpose of preserving peace and preventing another World War on the
rebuilding continent. The EU is also very beneficial to countries as it has the best economyin the
world, for the peace efforts and the ability to support its members.
One of the major benefits of membership in the EU is its strong economy. All members of the EU

their synthetic GDP. Which is the predicted GDP if they didn t join the EU (Doc B). This
information proves that the EU does actually work economically as countries in the organization
by improving their economy and supporting them. Another example of this economic growth is
Poland. According to Mitchell A. Orenstein, the Polish economy had been growing rapidly for 20
years. At more than 4% a year. He also stated that some German industries are able to produce
goods in Poland for cheaper than China. These examples show how the EU is able to support its

The Rise Of The Peshmerga
Peshmerga means those who are prepared to confront or face death. This military force began
around the 1920 s and have experienced a lot of tension between political groups. The Peshmerga is
currently fighting ISIS which is the biggest terrorist organization in the world. They are not only
the leading protectors of the Kurdistan Region, but also the entire world.
Initially, the Peshmerga was developed by freedom fighters that were members of the KDP and
PUK, who used guerrilla warfare tactics to regain control of and protect Kurdistan. After the
collapse of the Ottoman and Qajar empires, freedom fighters created the Peshmerga to regain
control over Kurdistan. When the Peshmerga first started, guerrilla warfare was used to fight

People now know the causes of their diseases, the likelihood that their child could get a trait

groundbreaking discoveries of medical history was the vaccination and eventual eradication of
smallpox, thanks to Edward Jenner. When he noticed that milkmaids exposed to cowpox were
immune to smallpox, he used the pus from a cowpox lesions and inoculated a young boy. The
boy soon was sick from cowpox but recovered quickly. When he was then inoculated with
smallpox matter, he never became ill. This proved that there was a way to save people from the
deadly disease of smallpox. This led to a better understanding of immunology. Other vaccines
such as polio, MMR, and influenza wouldn t have been created as quickly, if at all without
Jenner. It is suspected that his interest and curiosity for curing smallpox was when he was 13
years old as an apprentice to a surgeon; he heard a milkmaid say, I shall never have smallpox for
I have had cowpox. I shall never have an ugly pockmarked face. Although it was already suspected

Many think the Jews did not resist, yet they resisted in ways that did not hurt other people. The
Jews, an empathetic group of people, resisted by upholding their religion in secret prayer and by
documenting the terror they were forced to endure. This practice was called Oneg Shabbat. In
the Warsaw ghetto, even through all of the pain and starvation, Jews recorded the details of what
went on inside the ghetto and kept track of the living, buried the evidence in three milk cans, of
which only two have been discovered. These individuals wanted future people to know what they
experienced. These milk cans kept alive the legacy of these Jews and honor their lives and
bravery. As Elie Wiesel said, Even in darkness, it is possible to create light. The same type of
resistance can not be said of the Kurdish people. Instead of upholding their culture, they chose to
resort to violence, only furthering the mass murder of their own people. The way in which Jews

Desire For Revenge In Fortunato
The act of revenge means to avenge oneself or another by retaliating in kind or degree. Many
people seek revenge for a variety of different reasons. While some situations warrant vengeance,
other times it is unnecessary or goes too far. Every person is not the same, so it varies from person
to person what initiates the want for revenge. In The Cask of Amontilladoby Edgar Allen Poe,
Fortunato wrongs his friend Montresor, the protagonist. Although what Fortunato does is unknown,
Montresor seeks extreme revenge. Montresor completely blindsides Fortunato by doing this as he
did not know he was in the wrong. A character analysis of Montresor reveals the theme of desire for
revenge through exploitation of Fortunato.

When Montresor first meets Fortunato at the carnival, Fortunato is already noticeably tipsy.
Morsberger states, To accomplish it, Montresor waits until carnival season, a time of supreme
madness, when Fortunato, already half drunk and costumed as a jester, is particularly vulnerable.
After convincing Fortunato to come back his vault, Montresor does not stop him from drinking.
Montresor continues to encourage Fortunato to drink more as they are walking through the
catacombs. This continues to happen as they approach the vault. Montresor encourages Fortunato
by saying, But first, another draught of the Medoc (Poe). Fortunato s drunkenness allows Montresor
to easily manipulate him as he has no indication of what is happening. Without being under the
influence, Montresor knows his task would be much more difficult. By getting him drunk,
Montresor is able to get him to do exactly what he wants. This makes the task of killing him almost

The economic repercussions lead to many farmers losing their homes and farms, which resulted
in the largest resettlement in US history. Farmers failed to pay their mortgages and many lost
their homes to bank foreclosures. Some families just packed up all their belongings and left. As
their livelihoods disappeared, more than 350,000 people fled the Great Plains during the 1930s

Focusing on the interesting and unique rhythm of this piece in relation to the Turkish Janissary

The Three Types Of Carilage In The Human Body
There are three types of cartilages which are the hyaline cartilage, elastic cartilage, and
fibrocartilage. The hyaline cartilage is the most abundant cartilage in the human body that
provides a firm support with pliability. Examples of the hyaline cartilage are the articular, costal,
respiratory, and nasal cartilage. The elastic cartilage is a cartilage that is more flexible than the
hyaline cartilage. Examples of the elastics cartilage are external ear and epiglottis. The
fibrocartilage is a cartilage that is highly compressible with thick collagen fibers. Examples of the
fibrocartilage are the menisci of the knee and discs between the vertebrae.
The bones have seven important parts that play a role in the human body which are support,
protection, movement, mineral and growth factor storage, blood cell formation, triglyceride

If conditions remain favorable, the depression may develop further into a tropical storm and, later,
into a full blown hurricane. (Genesis, 99). On page 34 of the book, Sudden Sea, the author
describes a discovery in the Sahara Desert. Meteorologists noticed a slight shift in the wind; an area
of unstable air was passing over northwest Africa. Within a day or two it moved over the Atlantic
Ocean to around the Cape Verde Islands. This should have been the first sign to the Weather Bureau
to watch this particular storm. Although storms born off of the Sahara Desert were more likely to
become nothing, there was still a slight chance it would develop from the unstable air combining
with moisture built up from the heat of the equator off of the islands.
The first mistake the Jacksonville s weather bureau made was to call all extra relief workers and
coast guards from New York and New England down to Florida to prepare for the storm. While
looking out and protecting Florida, they took many needed hands from the northeast, which was
hit harder. Their second mistake, a more important one, was to assume this storm was another
typical Cape Verde hurricane because it began to veer northward. Those storms were known to
curve away from the tropics at first opportunity and head north for colder water where it would
soon die off before hitting the US. It followed this specific course by the Bermuda High currents, a

Often, we absorb most the select information that we have access to without realizing it. As a result,
people may remember events different than they happened without realizing it. It is even common
that the memory itself changes the more it surfaces in our minds. When we remember situations,
we are not remembering the event. We are actually remembering the last time we remembered it, so
we will not end up remembering it the same way. At the same time, our mind changes a memory
every time we think. This could lead to the publishing biased information. Historians must have to

they want to document and then decide what to write down. There are strengths of historians

In preparing the bi annual sales figures report, what would be the most logical way to present the
dataand information?
It would be best to use a diagram to compare the figures quickly and easily. I would order the
information in lists with the most sales at the top and the least at the bottom.
To help the readers understand the report I would use pie charts for each period with the different
sales segments in corresponding colours.
Activity 4: Develop overview of structure and contents of documents
1. How you can develop an overview of the structure and content of the document.

Looking Back At Casablanca, By Humphrey Bogarts
Looking back at Casablanca in 1941, it is shocking to know that Humphrey Bogarts famous
words hears looking at you kid was improvised on the spot. While this type of improvising is
common today, it was taboo compared the structured and generic Golden Age of film ( Sorry

production, the types of movies made, and eventually caused its own demise.
At the beginning of the great depression, holding non essential jobs was an extremely difficult
task. The film industry took advantage of this and placed all aspect of making a film on its
payroll. While the labor portion (i.e. costume designers and set hands) of film production

Compare And Contrast Dominican Republic And New York
Growing up as a child living in a Dominican household I have always heard that living in the
Dominican Republic and living in New york are complete two different environments and
lifestyles. Everybody who lives in the Dominican Republic has this american dream to come to
New York because it is a better environment and lifestyle. Two different things about the
Dominican Republic and New York is the weather and life style at home. When I was younger I
personally witness the lifestyle people lived in the Dominican Republic compared to New york.
In 2008 I visited my grandma home town in Santo domingo the capital of the Dominican
Republic where her home when you drive by was a house made of metal scraps and wood.
Compared to New york the house are made of bricks and wood. Besides that the biggest
difference of both lifestyle is the living environment of insides the homes. My grandmother use
to tell me that before I visited the Dominican Republic inside her home there was no doors in any
bedroom or bathroom, there was barely working lights on certain days, and worse part of all there
no hot water. She explained to me that they had to boil the water to a simmer to make it hot.Where

A Brief Note On Websites That Gives Unbiased, Quality...
How to Spot Websites that Gives Unbiased, Quality Information
According to Daily Changes, 100,000 web pages are registered every single day. Of the 100,000
that were created today, how many of them can one expect to be accurate and informative? When
truly performing scholarly research, how is one expected to be able to distinguish the good from
the bad and the bad from the ugly? An effective information source will have proper depth, an
appropriate domain name, and citations for sources.
Every website has a purpose. When researching, the primary goal is to gain information and be
informed, so the purpose of the chosen website should align with that. An immediate overlook of
the website will tell users whether or not there s enough information. Just like any good essay, the
material covered should be what the viewer is looking for. Truly, the only way to be sure a
website has proper depth is through thorough exploration. Next, websites can quickly and simply
be identified by their domain name. A quick glance at the website s URL can give a brief
indication of the website s overall theme. Any internet savvy individual would be able to decipher
that a website entitled Facebook.com won t be able to furnish information about subatomic
particles. Furthermore, the end of a website domain can say a lot about it. The ending, .com is for
commercial sites and can host pretty much anything. However, the endings .edu, for education;
.gov, for government; and .org, for

Staphylococcus Aureus, Or Mrsa
Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA is a possibly fatal strain of Staph aureus
that is resistant to many antibiotics. MRSA is unable to be killed by all beta lactam antibiotics.
This includes all penicillin s and cephalosporin s. There are two known type of MRSA. The
most common type is nosocomial MRSA or HA MRSA. Which is a strain found in hospitals,
nursing homes, ect. The second type is community acquired MRSA or CA MRSA. This strain of
MRSA infects individuals who have not been in a hospital setting and are typically quite healthy
(Minnesota Department of Health). With each type there are differences and the ways they are
transmitted. When it comes to the nosocomial MRSA hospitalized patients are at higher risk for
becoming infected. Many hospitalized patients have IVs, catheters, and surgical openings that
make them very susceptible to becoming infected. The bacteria can enter into underlying tissue
and it becomes very easy for the patients to become infected. Also, quite a few patients are taking
some sort of antibiotic and this reduces the natural flora of the body and that makes it easy for the
bacteria to enter the body and cause an infection. Some of the signs and symptoms of patients with
HA MRSA includes: abscesses, cellulitis, or other skin and soft tissue infections. Most of the
abscesses are filled with pus, red swollen area surrounding it, and also may be warm to the touch
(Minnesota Department of Health). The abscess is usually very

The Bad Beginning Or Orphans Essay
The bad beginning or Orphans is a book about protecting properties and the genre of this novel is
mystery, adventure, and family. The main character of this novel are three children whose name
are Baudelaire Violet, Baudelaire Klaus, and Baudelaire Sunny. Violet is an older sister, she likes
to skip rocks. Klaus is a middle child, he is extremely smart and he always goes to the library for
reading books. Sunny is the youngest child, who likes to bite things. At the beginning, their parents
die because of an unexpected fire. Therefore, they went to a man called Count Olafs house. Count
Olaf is a stage actor, and a distant relatives of the children. Count Olaf is a horrible person, he
always planned for their parent s heritage. Few month later, Count Olaf planned to marry Violet to
get their money. Before the wedding, Count Olaf catched Sunny so Violet should marry him....

The first weakness is some of the actions that is in the book is not really truthful. For example, in
chapter 10, Violet just used a simple invention and climbed up to the tall tower, the most
difficult part is to hook to the tower, and I think the hook is not strong enough to carry a person.
The second weakness is the story may not fit the readers that are above 25 years old because the
book is too easy for them, they might feel boring when they are reading this book. In this book,
everything seems perfect, however, I believe the book still have some parts that did not work
really well in the book. For example, the way that Count Olaf escape is like action movie s
segment, I think it does not suit this book. The book could be done better at make the story more
realistic because even though the story is not real, but the main idea of the novel is not science
fiction or action fiction. Next, the novel did not explain some details such as why Count Olaf s
house has many eye drawing and why Count Olaf s ankle have an eye

Multinational Startup Spotify Ab Company
Introduction Headquartered in London and Stockholm, Spotify Ltd. is based upon the Swedish
startup Spotify AB, founded in 2006 by two entrepreneurs Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon and
launched in 2008. In the digital music industry, the streaming market, which represents 10% of
the sector, has grown by 51.3% in 2013 while revenues from the download market (iTunes,
Amazon) has fallen by 2.1%. Spotify perfectly illustrates this superior growth as the leader in
terms of innovation in this market. Considered to be one of the 10 most innovative companies in
the U.K. in 2014 by Fast Company , Spotify with almost 50 million active users and 12.5 million
paying subscribers, is considered to be worth at around 4 billion dollars and often rumoured... Show

The Marketing Environment A.The Macroenvironment: PEST Analysis We shall see how
Spotify integrates this broader set of forces in its strategy. Political factors: We believed that if
we could build a service which was better than piracy, then we could convince people to stop
illegal file sharing, and start consuming music legally again (Ek, 2013). It tries to attract
customers who previously relied on illegal options for their music needs. Digital piracy is the
single most important factor restraining development of the music business. Governments were
involved to fight against it and established laws such as Digital Economy Act in the U.K. The
turnaround dates back to 2009 when these anti piracy laws combined with The Pirate Bay trial
inclined customers to try the new Spotify platform. It has successfully helped curb the illegal
downloading of music since it does not allow you to download the track. If you want to own the
track, you will be redirected to a legal vendor. Therefore Spotify claims to have reduced the
number of people who pirated music by 25% between 2009 and 2011. As such the streaming
industry helps governments to combat piracy but in the medium; to long term some political forces
could play against this industry: pressure from governments to ensure that the laws are created to

The Importance of Classifying and Distinguishing Between Independent Contractors and Employee
s
Briggs, Latisha J.
National University
Abstract Through this paper we will explore the importance of distinguishings classifications
between independent contractors and employees. We will examine identifying established
relationship between employers and workers while covering assigned roles of employees and
independent contractors. We will briefly discuss enacted laws and recommended practices to avoid
misclassification penalties and consequences. Lastly, we will explore vital factors that should be
considered while classifying workers.
The Importance of Distinguishing Classification Between Independent Contractors and Employees
Determining the classification between an independent contractor and an employee proves to be
rather complex, yet vital, regarding tax issues. Therefore, assigning correct classification is critical
to both employer and workers that carry out the labor, especially pertaining to benefits and tax
payment obligations. Organizations that classify their workers as employees assume financial
responsibility for them. Hartman asserts this by stating that, the distinction, however, is significant
for tax law compliance and categorization, for benefit plans, for cost reduction plans, and for
discrimination claims (Bennett Alexander, Hartman, 2012). Specifically, the employer s

Spoon River Anthology Theme
Loss is inevitable, there is a time in everyone s life that this pain will be felt, yet dealing with it
shows the true character of the person. The book of Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters
displays the true meaning of that statement. The characters throughout explain the many struggles
faced in their life, all the way until their death. In The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, the main character
is doomed from the very beginning. He demonstrates the life of an immigrant, poor, nasty, brutish.
He along with his family undergo massive loss and devastation throughout the entire book. The
difference in background, race, minority, plays no role in the extreme suffering each and everyone
of these characters felt. Hope and love surrounds Jurgis family as they enter the United States as
new citizens. Newly married Jurgis and Ona are hopeful their marriage, family and American

he is more than livid. Jurgis goes right to his face, and ends up brawling. The fight makes Jurgis
go to jail, which he finds more enjoyable than being free due to the roof over his head and being
fed well. While in jail, he begins making a friend who is extremely knowledgeable about the
criminal underground. Jurgis saw the money to come with being a criminal, and saw it as the
best way to provide for his struggling family. Hilldrup faces the same difficulty as Jurgis. He
feels defeated, like he cannot prove himself, so he turns to money as a way of comfort, no matter

Classifying Personality Disorders
A challenge with classifying personality disorders is that personality disorders are not stable over
time while the very definition of personality disorders suggests that they should be stable over
time. However, according to figure 15.2, half the people with a personality disorder at some point
in time had achieved remission when interviewed two years later (455). Another challenge with
classifying personality disordersis that personality disorders are highly comorbid. For instance, a
person diagnosed with borderline personality disordercan also be diagnosed with paranoid
personality disorder they also predict poorer outcomes for these disorders (another challenge).
Moreover, it was found that more than 50% of people diagnosed with a personality disorder also
met the diagnostic criteria for another personality disorder. Furthermore, in the alternative DSM 5
diagnoses (appears in the appendix of the DSM 5) are based on personality traits and includes two
types of dimensional scores that can be rated using self report items. The two types of dimensional
scores are 5 personality trait domains and 25 more specific personality trait facets. For instance,
negative affectivity includes anxiousness, emotional... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although, for some personality disorders, little research was conducted regarding treatments.
Moreover, treatment of schizotypal personality disorder is similar to treatment of schizophrenia and
thus antipsychotic medication can help. Treatment of avoidant personality disorder is also similar
to treatment of social anxiety disorder where antidepressants and behavioral treatment can help.
Dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic therapy and longer term versions of cognitive therapy
have been shown some support as treatment for borderline personality disorder. Lastly,
psychotherapy is considered the best treatment for personality

Differences Between The Movie And Movie
COMPARATIVE ESSAY OF THE DOCUMENTARY AND FILM Flight 571 The Andes Plane
Crash On the 13th of October 1972, a plane which carried Uruguayan union rugby player team
from to a match in Chile crashed, in an area in the Andes what was known as The Valley of Tears .
They were stranded for 72 days in the harsh, unfamiliar environments; their story of survival would
soon amaze and disturb the world, becoming the basis for a documentary named I am Alive:
Surviving the Andes Plane Crash (2010) and the movie Alive (1993). A documentary and a movie

through their longing for their return; the extent of every man s struggle at their breaking points
was shown in both films, but I am Alive portrayed their resilience and willpower to a life changing
degree. The diverse primary sources and expert analyses constantly lead to viewers to think about
the real story behind the screen. Alive wasn t as convincing, and therefore connected less with the

instead focusing on entertaining the audience. But Flight 571 is a story that cannot be entirely told

Elizabethan Entertainment Research Paper
Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era There were many different forms of entertainment and
entertainers during the Elizabethan Era, or Shakespearean Age. Most well endowed families in
the Elizabethan Era were able to do a lot more in order to entertain themselves. This is especially
because they are not busy with the hard work and tasks that lower classes have to handle on a
daily basis. According to Dylan Shore, the elite class enjoyed themselves by throwing large feasts,
jousts, and banquets. The jousts that were thrown consisted of a competition with two opponents
who fought on horses with lances. Jousting was a very popular sport during this era, especially for
the elite. Banquets were thrown with five courses, each course being reasonably large and filling (
Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era). Because the elite class had access to more, as stated in a
BBC article, ...the invention of the printing press and spread of education meant that gentlemen
were part of an elitist culture involved in intellectual pursuits, such as reading the classics, studying
music, hunting, and hawking. ( Life in Elizabethan England ). They also danced and listened to
music, which was a form of entertainment that lower classes also engaged in ( Entertainment in the
Elizabethan Era ). Both the low classes and high classes were able to... Show more content on

Legal Developments in Western Civilization
Legal Developments in Western Civilization
The span of Western Civilization encompasses many notable achievements in legal development.
As empires rise and expand, it becomes necessary to create a legal code that standardizes
punishment, institutes a form of common law, and protects society from arbitrary abuses of
power. These principles were formally established relatively early in the western world, and
became the foundations upon which later government institutions created their legal systems. The
Code of Hammurabi, the Twelve Tables, and Magna Carta, all represent key moments in the
evolution of legal thought and practice. Not only do they show the legal and political direction of
the empires, but also the progression of their social values The Babylonian empire s success was
due in large part to its powerful sixth king, Hammurabi who reigned from 1792 1750 B.C.E. At the
age of twenty five he succeeded to the throne and devoted the first thirty years of his reign to wars
of conquest. His military success meant that his empire now possessed a diverse population that
was difficult to placate. To aid in unifying the empire and making punishments standard and
universal, he issued the Code of Hammurabi. In three hundred clauses, Hammurabi established the
rudiments of common law. Though not a set of statutes to be cited, it did provide judges with
examples of past decisions handed down for various disputes. His concept of justice was reflected

Relationship Between Fig Trees And Wasps
The article Fig trees and wasps depend on each other is an article by Ann Auerbach. The article
is about the relationship fig trees and wasps have. According to the article, wasps and fig trees
have co evolved to mutually benefit each other. The fig is a plant with a gourd like flower called
a synconium. Inside it are tiny fig flowers that can either be male or female. They cannot mate
because they mature at different times. The wasp, a small insect with a short life span depends on
that synconium for her reproduction. The female first enters the synconium through a pin sized
hole, often losing her wings in the process. She lays her eggs, one per flower, then dies. The male
wasps, are the first to hatch. They inseminate the female eggs, before

  • 3. Essay The Iron Triangle and Heclo s Policy of Issue Networks Heclo s policy of issue networks is a new way of dealing with the connection between politics and its administration. Previously, the Iron Triangle was the way that the connection was dealt with. The Iron Triangle concept described the major players as congress, career bureaucrats and large interest groups. It was said that the groups had a give and take kind of relationship and eventually led to a reasonably easy way to create policy while somewhat satisfying each of the groups. Basically, the Congress passes laws, Bureaucrats implement the laws and the interest groups support the congress. However Heclo describes the new way of doing business in Washington. Heclo does not say the Iron Triangle theory is wrong he just says that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Heclo describes these groups as varied and operating on many different levels. We may have a small group that is very vocal and show up at meetings but do not reflect the majority of people. We may have a professor or expert who is called by legislators for advice or to clarify some part of policy. Also, people are more involved and well read on issues and understand the issues more completely. There are a few problems with this way of doing things and we can look at the Reinventing School Lunch policy to see how this system can be effective and also cause some delays and problems. The original goal of the food lunch program was to feed malnourished school children and to help farmers by buying up some of their extra crops and commodities. This program worked well for 50 years and was a popular and accepted program. In the 1990 s the program was looked at and it was determined to look at and reinvent the school lunch program. There were many players in this reinvention and we have Helen Haas who is the head of the food and nutrition services. She is the lady who develops a feud with the School food service association. There are also other players in the story including, school food workers, parent and teacher groups, the farmers, dietary advocacy groups, the dairy council, meat council, and various health groups. In Cannonball, North Dakota, Native Americans have gathered to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline; resulting in one the largest gatherings of Native Americans from multiple tribes the United States has witnessed in over a century (Northcott, 2016). One tribe in particular, the North DakotaStanding Rock SiouxTribe, have been leading and organizing the protest against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The Standing Rock reservation is located in the Sioux and Ziebach counties within the North Dakota and South Dakotaborder; the Sioux people are the primary tribe of the area. According to Trymaine Lee of MSNBC, the counties are a part of the top 10 poorest counties in the country, and that it has a history with water distresses. In the early 1960s, five dams located at Lake Oahe in Standing Rock gave way and flooded 200,000+ acres, destroying nearly all natural resources and wildlife at the river bottom, as well as destroying towns within the reservation and sacred ancestral lands and sites. This was a devastating tragedy for the people of Standing Rock, and it seems that history is repeating itself with the proposed construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The pipeline poses many hazardous threats, and these threats outweigh any economic benefit the proponents may promise. It threatens the environment, water supplies, historical land, and only adds to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Learn how with Hosting Australia. 5 Simple Ways to Create Effective Copy For Your Website A high quality website is an essential element of your business s digital marketing strategy, and the copy used across your site and any associated social media pages will be key to your success. Ineffective copy could cause potential customers to quickly click away, losing you business and preventing your brand s message from being delivered. Make sure you give your customers a good reason to stick around with these 5 simple tips. 1.Know your audience. Understanding who your audience is and how they speak is crucial to creating the right tone for your web copy. For example, if your brand targets a younger demographic then a more casual tone with current slang will work well, whereas an older audience may expect a more formal tone that reflects their voice. Thorough market research will ensure that you know who your audience is and what they want from your brand. 2.Make sure it s readable. Large blocks of texts, small fonts, and uncomfortable colour schemes will all make your web copy less accessible for your reader. • 10. Essay about Comparing Oceania in 1984 and the USA Comparing Oceania in 1984 and the USA This paper will discuss the similarities and differences between the Oceanic society of Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four and the society of the United States. First I will talk about the similarities and then I will finish off with the differences, all of which will be based on factual information that I have gathered both, from the book and the mainstream media. Then I will finish by coming to a conclusion to an opinion I have and whether the government systems are more similar or different. In order to do so, I had to ask myself some important questions like: Is the telescreen in the book the same as the cameras at work watching us or the satellites the government has in space that can see you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These people, for whom the government really does not care, are seen as a burden. The overall conclusion to this statement is that the classes are divided with different opportunities and even though not as much as the government officials in the book, the upper classes still have more freedom to excel and do as they please. The second similarity is that both governments believe that ?War is Peace.? We saw in the book that the government of Oceania believed that the only way to have peace was through war and strength. They would at one time be peaceful with one of the two other two countries in the world, Eurasia or Eastasia, while waging war against the other. The government would also use excuses on why they were waging war. The same is here in The United States. We went to Iraq for reasons that some feel were not justified while others feel differently. The main argument of the opposition was that we went to war with Iraq on the basis that they had weapons of mass destruction and so forth but non were found. The question that I want to ask is: Were we lied to as the people in Oceania were? The third similarity is that both governments have their hands and control in every aspect of society?s life. Also the government spies on their citizens. In the book we saw Oceania had absolute control over people?s life. Even though the control that the United State government has over people?s lives these days is not as great as the one in the book, they still interfere ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the novel To Kill a Mockibngbird the characters Mrs Dubose, Tom Robinson and Atticus Finch all demonstrate what true courage really is. The first character I will discuss is Mrs Dubose. Mrs Dubose is a very old woman battling an illness and a morphine addiction. Secondly, I will discuss Tom Robinson. Tom is a black man who is (falsely) accused of rape by Mayella Ewell. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a reader, I found Atticus to be the most courageous character in the novel. The reasons behind this statement are that Atticus defends a black man in court, he stands up to the lynch mob in front of the jailhouse and because he can fight without words. First, Atticus is very valorous for taking the Tom Robinson case. For a white man to be acquainted with a black man who was not his slave was rather sporadic. Even after all of the physical and verbal abuse Atticus took he kept his word and defended Tom for all he was worth. I can t stay here all day and this summer is going to be a hot one. (Atticus, Page 128) As a reader, this was the greatest act of courage executed in the novel. For Atticus to risk his respect, family and life to protect a black man took great bravery and sacrifice. Secondly, Atticus protected Tom from he lynch mob at the jailhouse. As the men poured out of the car towards Atticus, he was undaunted buy the moving shadows approaching him. In ones and twos, men got out of the cars. Shadows became substance as lights revealed solid shapes moving toward the jail door. Atticus remained where he was. (Scout, Page 152 153) Atticus fearlessly confronted the mass of angry men and reasoned with them until there is an interruption courtesy of Scout. But, with the fresh air having brought a healthy glow to her cheeks, and her hair slightly ruffled from a spirited walk around archways, fields and Courtyard, everything seemed interesting. She had soon learned that Camelot Castle was the kind of place where you could find everything by following the crowd. Over a week into her stay, and the chatter still lifted her heart. What was going on? Another Knighting ceremony, or other celebration? Rather than heading towards the Court used when she arrived in Camelot, tearfully luring Arthur to his death, the crowd swerved to the right and down several more corridors until they reached two great oak doors. The guards opened them and Mithian gasped in delight. Rather than the lower arched ceiling she remembered, this ceiling stretched forever into the sky, its windows sparkled with sunlight, making each pane look like a sheet of diamonds and at the far end, she saw two Thrones adorned with intricate decorations. The King and Queen were already seated, discussing something in low voices. Pausing, Mithian studied them with a strange feeling in her stomach of either envy nor admiration. And then shaking her head, she went to find a good place to stand as the seats had already been taken by Knights and Councillors. An aisle separated the two crowds and and several men, including a Lord she vaguely recognized from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Influence Of Modern Western Government Their political structure has influenced modern Western government. The Roman language, Latin, is the root of many other languages like English, Spanish, and French. The Roman Empire (cont.) Formation After the fall of the Qin Dynasty in 207 B.C., 18 separate political forces proclaimed their independence, but the Han and Chu were the most powerful out of them. In 202 B.C., Liu Bang won the Chu Han Contention and found the Han dynasty, which ruled China for the next 400 years. Cultural Traditions Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism were introduced during this era. Education became important as schools were built everywhere. Public school was started and reserved for boys to learn new skills for free. Painting and calligraphy were now seen as forms of art and not as ways of making signs and letters. The invention of paper made it easier for scholars to record their ideas, thus leading to the boom in literature. Following the introduction of loom, silk soon became an important part of the Han culture and economy Strayer, Robert W. Chapter 1. Ways of the World: A Brief Global History with Sources. 2nd ed. (Footloose, Kenny Loggins) For this essay, I chose to watch Footloose made in 1984 and directed by Herbert Ross and Footloose made in 2011 directed by Craig Brewer. Both movies centered around the town of Bomont, a secluded town with out of the ordinary beliefs. In this town, dancing and partying of any sort was strictly against the law and teenagers were seemingly miserable. There was little to no self expression and even listening to provocative music or any music too loud, could get you a ticket with a hefty fine. The reason behind the strict rules is that several years back, five teens from Bomont High School died in a car wreck after they were drinking and dancing too much. Each of these movies have some things in common, but have more differences than anything. Some of the main differences are the opening creditsof each movie, how and who Ren arrives to Bomont at the beginning of the movie, the chicken races between Ren and Jeff, and the book burning in town square. In the 1984 version, the movie opens with the song Footloose and the first thing the viewers see is the shoes and feet of many different people dancing. One of the major things that you notice is the type and style of the shoes such as leg warmers and socks with heels which tells you what era the movie was made in. As the credits roll across the screen, the music continues to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Discovery Of Interstellar Travel The idea of interstellar travel was explored methodically in order to answer why one would want to travel to other stars, where in space could humanity realistically travel to, what factors are preventing mankind from reaching these stars and how can they could be overcome. The inquisitiveness of the human mind and the fact that Earth will not be habitable forever is a substantial motivation in favour of interstellar travel. The main requirement for a habitable planetis that it is in the Habitable Zone where it is not too close nor too far from the starit is orbiting, but is situated where the water on the surface of the planet is in liquid form. There are many issues that limit one s ability to travel to the stars. The most significant issue being the vast distances between the stars and the time it would take for the journey to be complete, which would permanently damage the human body. The most promising rocket that could handle the voyage would be a nuclear rocket, however there are still many developments that need to be made in that field to render it a strong possibility. One of the biggest reasons as to why humanity wishes to explore interstellar travel is to fuel its curiosity. Civilization would not be where it is today if it wasn t for the previous species desire to discover more about the universe in which they lived. The 50/50 mixture has a lower melting point and a broader melting point range because each compound acts as an impurity in the other. The results in Table 2 from part 2 of the experiment have higher melting points than their supposed melting point range. The samples went from a powdery white to a clear liquid. The unknown 8 compound was guessed to be maleic acid since its melting point was in the range 137В°C 140В°C. For the final trial, however, both unknown 8 and maleic acid had higher melting points out of the range and the 50/50 mixture melted first. • 22. The Concept of Ad-hoc Networking Ad hoc networking is a concept in computer communications, which allows users wanting to communicate with each other to form a temporary network, without any form of centralized administration or infrastructure. Each node participating in the network acts both as host and as router and must therefore be willing to forward packets for other nodes. For this purpose, an efficient routingprotocol is needed. The goal of this research is to design a flexible and efficient routing scheme for a mobile ad hoc network (MANET). Because a MANET is composed of wireless mobile computing devices forming an ad hoc network without existing wired infrastructure or base stations, the network topology changes frequently. Hence, routing in such a dynamic environment is a challenging task. Some previous routing schemes in mobile ad hoc networks include Dynamic Source Routing (DSR), Cluster Based Routing Protocol (CBRP), and Temporally Ordered Routing Protocol (TORA), Mobile Agent Based Routing Protocol (MARP) among others. In MANETs congestion occurs due to the packet loss and it can be successfully reduced by involving congestion control scheme which includes routing algorithm and a flow control at the network layer [1]. A Mobile Agent starts from every node and moves to an adjacent node at every time. A node visited next is selected at the equivalent probability. The MA brings its own history of movement and updates the routing table of the node it is visiting [1]. In Mobile Agent Based ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Likewise, I sit in silence, surrounded but isolated by those that I viewed as friends. I have always been surrounded by a strictly Democratic crowd. It was the beginning of September, a time where many packed up their summer clothes, boarded up their houses, and left to return back to the real world leaving their summer homes behind. Meteorologists noticed a slight shift in the wind; an area of unstable air was passing over northwest Africa. Within a day or two it moved over the Atlantic Ocean to around the Cape Verde Islands. This should have been the first sign to the Weather Bureau to watch this particular storm. Although storms born off of the Sahara Desert were more likely to become nothing, there was still a slight chance it would develop from the unstable air combining with moisture built up from the heat of the equator off of the islands. The first mistake the Jacksonville s weather bureau made was to call all extra relief workers and coast guards from New York and New England down to Florida to prepare for the storm. While looking out and protecting Florida, they took many needed hands from the northeast, which was hit harder. Their second mistake, a more important one, was to assume this storm was another typical Cape Verde hurricane because it began to veer northward. Those storms were known to curve away from the tropics at first opportunity and head north for colder water where it would soon die off before hitting the US. Which is a strain found in hospitals, nursing homes, ect. The second type is community acquired MRSA or CA MRSA. This strain of MRSA infects individuals who have not been in a hospital setting and are typically quite healthy (Minnesota Department of Health). We will briefly discuss enacted laws and recommended practices to avoid misclassification penalties and consequences. Lastly, we will explore vital factors that should be considered while classifying workers. The Importance of Distinguishing Classification Between Independent Contractors and Employees Determining the classification between an independent contractor and an employee proves to be rather complex, yet vital, regarding tax issues. Therefore, assigning correct classification is critical to both employer and workers that carry out the labor, especially pertaining to benefits and tax payment obligations. Organizations that classify their workers as employees assume financial responsibility for them. Hartman asserts this by stating that, the distinction, however, is significant for tax law compliance and categorization, for benefit plans, for cost reduction plans, and for discrimination claims (Bennett Alexander, Hartman, 2012).
