The Democratic National Party vs. the Republican National...
Since the beginning of American politics, we have lived in a two party political system. These two
parties play a very important role in our government, they are a source of ideas for public policy, and
they legally oppose each other (class citation), forcing compromises of ideas which are beneficial to
the people of the United States of America. Though these two parties generally always oppose each
other on the issues, some people believe that there are not significant differences between the
Democratic National Party and the Republican National Party. Despite similarities in views on foreign
policy, the Democratic National Party and the Republican National Party are different based on their
stands on domestic economic issues in the 1992 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Republicans called for the choice of a public, private, or religious school be given to the parent.
They would do this with the G.I. Bill for children, giving middle to low income households $1000 to
choose the private, public, or religious school of their choice ( Second Presidential Debate, 1992 ).
The Democratic Party called for a balanced budget by the year 2002 in the 1996 presidential election,
and proposed a method of balancing the budget that would secure Medicare, Medicaid, and protect
Social Security ( Draft Democratic National Platform 42).. Presidential candidate Bob Dole, on the
other hand, proposed a constitutional amendment which would require the budget to be balanced (
Second 1996 Presidential Debate ). This constitutional amendment, according to Dole in the second
`96 debate, would allow a broad range of tax cuts for Americans.
Taxes were another issue on which the Democrats and Republicans differed. Dole stated in the first
1996 presidential debate that the balanced budget amendment to the Constitution would allow tax cuts
for Americans. When describing his tax proposal, Dole said, It s a tax cut, cutting capitol gains 50
percent so you can go out and create more jobs and opportunities. It s estate tax relief. It s a $500 per
child tax credit... ( Transcript of the First Presidential Debate A08). In the second debate, Dole further
described his projected tax cuts, saying if

Public Budget Deficit Has Generated Pressures On Domestic...
This chronic and growing public budget deficit has generated pressures on domestic savings and
increased the share of domestic savings that directed to cover the growing public deficit at the expense
of investment spending share. Ratios of public budget deficit to demand for domestic savings
fluctuated around upward sloping trend. This ratio recorded 40%, in average, with standard deviation
14.5% during the considered period. Panel (a) in figure (3) shows that despite ratio of investment
spending to demand for domestic savings recorded 84%, in average, with standard deviation 10.3%;
however, these ratios fluctuated around a relatively horizontal trend during the considered period.
Accordingly, it can be said that public budget deficit works as a constraint to investment spending.
Panel (b) may confirm this suggestion, as it shows that investment spending, as a percent of GDP, is
following a downward sloping trend especially after 2008, where ratios of public budget deficit to
demand for domestic savings started to follow an upward sloping trend. In other words, it can be said
that public spending competes with investment spending for domestic savings, a familiar problem
known as crowding out. Under such a circumstance, financing domestic investment is at the mercy of
foreign indirect capital flows which depend on the efficiency of financial markets and political status
and relations of the country. This goes in line with the finding of O.Helmy and C.Zaki (2015), as they

Muhammad became a very successful merchant and married a woman by the name of Khadijah.

By the start of the 1000 s Christians were being persecuted by Islamic leaders and this increased when
the owner of the holy land switched from the Egyptians to the Seljuk Turks. Late in the 11th century
the Byzantine Emperor by the name of Alexius Comenus asked for help from Western Europe. In
1095, since Christians were being persecuted Pope Urban II publicly called for a crusade to help the
Eastern Christians recover the holy land. The first crusade was the only the only crusade that the

Great restored them into Jerusalem in 538. Authorities demanded Monophysites conform to imperial

in 614 an army full of Persians and Jews arrived in Jerusalem. It took them 21 days to get past the wall

Haim G. Ginott s Congruent Communication Model of Discipline
Congruent Communication Model of Discipline In 1971, Haim G. Ginott developed congruent
communication model that highlights the critical role of communication in discipline. Ginott believes
that the teacher is the influential element in the classroom and is like a parent that holds the authority
to make or break a students personality (Charles, 2011; Ginott, 1971).
Ginott s Key Ideas
1. Discipline: Discipline is a series of little successes.
2. Self Discipline: The most important element is a teacher s own self discipline.
3. Sane Messages: Address the situation not the students personality.
4. Congruent Communication: Teachers use congruent communication that is harmonious with
students own feelings.
5. Students Character: Teachers at their worst attack and label students characters.
6. Model Behavior: Teacher should model the behavior they expect to observe in their students.
7. Invite Cooperation: Inviting collaboration from students is greatly preferable to challenging it.
8. Express Anger: Teacher express anger but in appropriate ways.
9. Labeling the Disabling: Labeling students disables them.
10. Sarcasm: Sarcasm is almost always dangerous.
11. Perils of Praise: Avoid the perils of praise.
Congruent Communication
Congruent Communication means addresses situations, not students character or personality. Ginott
emphasized those teachers at their best, using congruent communication (Manning and Bucher, 2001;
Morris, 1996).
1. Do not advocate, moralize, enforce

America Land Of Opportunity Essay
The Great Land of America: Land Of Opportunity Many sought to migrate to America, a land that was
talked so highly of, full of opportunities for all to have. From the rich to the poor, to the slaves and the
free, most all was willing to do anything at their chance of happiness, riches, and success. However,
the time period of the 1600 s through 1774 would have many trails, errors, and triumphs, and all
would test the limits and the strengths of the newfound settlers, and would prove these opportunities to
be a long, difficult road to success. In the early 1600 s many walks of life came to the America s, some
in search of the riches that had been told of, and some just searching for freedom of religion. Among
some of these people were colonists who had established their first permanent colony in Virginia, but
low and behold many of these people fell victim to dissension and disease (Norton,41). Life in
America would not be as easy such an easy task. Many of these people came with the intentions of
relying on some of the local Indians for help in the areas of food and tribute, but the Indians did not
want to cooperate (Norton,41). The Indians would prove to be another difficult task that would be
encountered by most, as most of them did not want to convert to the new ways and traditions of life,

Aimee Mllins Adversity Summary
Aimee Mullins is an accomplished paralympian athlete whose goal is to raise awareness in the world
of disability and adversity. From her speech, titled Adversity, she suggests that it isn t whether or not
you re going to meet adversity, but how you re going to meet it. This statement describes one of the
most influential points in her speech, and widely represents much of the message she is trying to
convey: that adversity is not so much a mountainous difficulty which is impossible to scale, but that it
is a challenge to face head on; a change which can and should be accepted. Through her use of strong
diction and syntax, she appeals to the audience with both strong emotion and a firm tone. She utilizes
mankind s ability to empathize to target an audience consisting of anyone who will listen, lieky
knowing that her showing of emotional and logical appeal will draw attention and cause a mass effect
in the audience, sparking a desire within the audience to understand the kinds of emotions she felt. All
in all, her constant reference to known facts in combination with her ability to entice the audience
gives Aimee Mullins an aura of professionalism and credibility.
Introducing her topic, Mullins demonstrates her argument with a word for word definition of disabled,
from a 1980 s thesaurus, which she believes perfectly represents how a vast number of people from
today s society view those with disability. To further support the idea, she pulls a far more recent

Why Prostitution Should Be Legalize Prostitution
The act of engaging in sexual activity or intercourse in exchange for payment defines prostitution. The
widely known view of prostitution continues to persist along the lines of immoral, unhealthy, violent,
and discriminating. Many countries criminalize prostitution with the intentions of eliminating the
problem altogether. This, in fact, drove prostitution underground making the problem even messier.
No matter the view, the sex work industry will always have a demand. The networth of prostitution
outweighs America s illegal drug and gun trade combined. Therefore, prostitution isn t going
anywhere and remains one of the oldest professions in history. Many countries have already legalized
prostitution including Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Austria, and Belgium. In doing so, these
countries have the capability to maintain a proper work environment and provide health regulations
among many other things. Prostitution should be legalized to ensure the medical safety of the
prostitutes and their clients. Due to the criminalization of prostitution, prostitutes generally have a
higher risk of transferring sexually transmitted diseases. A sexually transmitted disease, or STD, are
diseases or infections that can only travel through a sexual act. Prostitutes make money from having
sex with other people and in order to become prosperous, they must have sex with several different
people. Many clients also refuse to use condoms. The prostitute will usually be offered more money if
they participate in the sexual act without the use of a condom. Condoms are proven to be highly
successful in preventing someone from contracting or spreading an STD according to the Centers of
Disease Control and Prevention. If infected, many prostitutes are unaware of their condition because
they can t afford to visit a healthcare professional or carry health insurance. The combination of a
prostitutes tendency to exchange sexual intercourse with multiple people and the client s refusal to use
condoms opens the prostitute to a greater possibility of transmitting an STD. Since a medical check up
isn t financially an option or required for the prostitutes, the prostitute may potentially be spreading an
STD to their client unknowingly.

The Adlerian Theory Essay
The Adlerian Theory Alfred Adler was the founder of Adlerian Counseling. He was born in 1870 in
the country of Austria. who gave his theory the name Individual Psychology, because he wanted
people to see that his theory and methods were designed to help clients help themselves. He believed
that everyone had and internal need to be a part of society, and a desire to contribute to that society.
That everyone strives for perfection, and everyone initially feels inferior to everyone else. He believed
that when that feeling is not overcome, inferiority complexes develop, and if a person tries to

That only children like being the center of adult attention, often have difficulty sharing with siblings
and peers, and prefer adult company and the use adult language. His opinion was that a counselor
should function primarily as a teacher and model for the client. That they should have a health
relationship in which both counselor and client are on equal grounds. The counselors job, according to
Adler, was to learn why clients think and behave the way they do; by gathering information about the
clients family and their early memories. Then the counselor should share his or her interpretation of
the client and try to build a restorative relationship. Adler s goals for the client were to help them
develop a healthy, complete lifestyle, and to help them overcome feelings of inferiority. He developed
a 12 stage process to help a client reach his or her goals. These stages are: Stage one: the empathy
relationship stage, Stage two: the information stage, Stage three: the clarification stage, Stage four: the
encouragement stage, Stage five: the interpretation and recognition stage, Stage six: the knowing

We Need To Reform Laws Regarding Marijuana Essay
Imagine that your only father is lying in a hospital bed with one of the many life threatening ailments.
The disease has left him with nothing but agonizing pain and he only has a short time to live. Wouldn t
you like to see him live the last weeks of his life not having to deal with the pain? Sure you would,
however, this would only be possible by the use of a drug called marijuana. Cancer patients smoke
marijuana to dispel the nausea and vomiting they get from chemotherapy and to alleviate pre treatment
anxiety. The drug was first recorded as a medicine in Chinese pharmacopoeia in 2727BC (CNN

It wasn t until the 1970 s that this law was questioned and medicinal uses were rediscovered due to the
increase in number of recreational users. On September 6, 1988, the DEA s chief administrative law
judge, Francis L. Young, declared that marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically
active substances known to man. The provisions of the Controlled Substances Act permit and require
the transfer of marijuana from Schedule 1 to Schedule 2. Judge Young s order that the marijuana be
transferred to Schedule 2 was rejected by the DEA (Nida Info Facts). If that s the case then how come

Indian Wedding Rituals And Traditional Rituals
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue... A wedding is a ceremony of
marriage that is celebrated across cultures. It is one of the only rituals that many of the world s
cultures have in common. However, each culture has their own unique traditions when dealing with
marriage. Because India is a more religious nation than the United States, they tend to stick to a more
traditional regimen of rituals and customs. While most weddings in the United States have developed
into more modernized versions of the ancient ceremony, Hindu weddings in India continue to be very
traditional and religious. Weddings are also taken much more seriously in India than they are in the
United States. The Hindu (India s major religious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

serious events of the wedding, and a great chance to have fun and get to know the new family in a

and exciting part of the pre wedding. Mehendi is one of the oldest forms of body art. It is a term
derived from the Sanskrit word, mendhika which refers to the henna plant. The bride is covered in
these intricate Mehendi designs, henna tattoos, as part of the Hindus customary sixteen adornments.
Traditionally, the groom s initial is included somewhere in the detailed designs of florals and paisley

help calm the bride s nerves when applied to her hands and feet. After Mehendi, the bride does not
step out of the house until the next day, when Var Mala begins. Var Mala is a main wedding day
ceremony in which the bride and groom exchange garlands. The groom s friends attempt to prevent
the bride from putting her garland around the groom s neck to tease her, while the bride s friends help
her do the same. Everyone enjoys the tussle between the two wedding parties, and the groom finally
succeeds in his endeavors. This signifies that the bride has accepted the groom as her husband. After
Var Mala, the couple gets blessed by the elders of both families. This is followed by

Human Permanence In John Steinbeck s The Grapes Of Wrath
In numerous circumstances, people consistently overlook the values of human worth and dignity. They
push them out of the way for who they are and segregate their very existence. In the Grapes of Wrath,
along the Joads journey to California, some are not treated for who they are as individuals in their way
of life. The same happens in the present culture. In today s society, the value of human permanence
remains a never ending quandary.
In the Grapes of Wrath, Pa begins as the established leader of the Joad family. What he says goes. As
the thought of leaving Oklahoma becomes reality, Ma takes on a bigger leadership capacity in the
household s decision making. At first, the dominant personalities collide, and the family faces a hostile

People do not respect others for who they are. Race and religious persecution remain a large conflict
of the value of human worth. Personalities are easy to judge. It is entirely wrong to judge someone
based on their religious practices or their race. However, the one thing that makes America great is the
freedom that we have without conflict. We are a nation of expression and diversity. Religious freedom
is exceedingly rare in other parts of the world. As a nation, we should not take for granted our ability
to practice the religion of our choosing. The same issues of civil rights, racism, and persecution of
human society in the 1950s that tore apart and divided the country are the same things that divide our
nation today. Skin color, religion, sexuality, age, gender, and even political affiliation are many factors
that put people into different groups. People have the ability to choose whom they want to be and what
they want to believe. Society can agree or disagree on the issues. An individual s way of life is not
detrimental how others should treat them. A person is a person, and everybody deserves the same love,
admiration, and respect. The representation of our daily lives has a direct effect on society, and how
we choose to live shows who we are as

Analysis Of A Streetcar Named Desire By Tennessee Williams
Music and literature in collaborative form allow authors to expand elements of themes, plot, and
characters in a way accessible to readers. Although the book, A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee
Williams, is essentially the dialogue and stage directions for the adorned Broadway play, reading it
allows for insight into Williams reasoning in constructing the story and its characters. Truly, Williams
particular choice of music not only fits the setting of the story, but also allows him to construct
complex characters and establish the mood for the scenes of the play.
Set in New Orleans, it is not surprising that Williams choses to incorporate music fitting to the setting.
At the start of the play, Williams indicates the presence of a blue piano (that) expresses the spirit of the
life which goes on there (Williams 3). Located at the Four Deuces, this piano is often mentioned
within the stage directions, and this recurring symbol of blues music emphasizes moments of passion,
love, and life in Elysian Fields. In Scene 2, this blue piano makes an appearance as it plays louder
while Stanley inadvertently reveals to Blanche that Stella is pregnant (Williams 44). It returns in
Scene 3 when Stanley calls out to Stella after their argument. This leads to an introduction into their
lustful relationship, indicated in the stage directions, as they come together with low, animal moans
(Williams 67). Williams even carefully notes the distinctions in the

Strategies for Resolving Conflict
Conflict is inevitable; even though some conflict can be good most of the time other times it can be
harmful to a team. By definition conflict is any situation in which incompatible goals, cognitions, or
emotions within or between individuals or groups that lead to opposition or antagonistic interactions.
Conflict can be damaging but with the right skills and the ability to resolve it, it can be beneficial to
the team (Bowes, 2008). Many people try to avoid conflict at all costs, but avoiding conflict will not
make it go away. Some people see shades of gray or different perspectives of issues more easily and
readily than others. Those who see issues as black or white and who do not see gray tones, often find
it difficult to understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This conflict resolution strategy respects individual differences. When using this method a few simple
rules are followed. Make sure that good relationships are the first priority: Treat others with respect,
speak calmly and try to be courteous to the other members of the team. Keep people and problems
separate: By keeping the problem separate from the person and realizing that the person isn t just
being difficult the problem can be debated without causing damage to the team. Pay attention to the
interests that are being presented: Listening to the team will help with the understanding of where
each person is coming from. Listen first; talk second: To solve the problem effectively each person
needs to listen to the information being presented by each team member and understand where they
are coming from before defending their own position. Set out the Facts : Establish an objective and
make sure everyone agrees on what is set forth. Explore options together: Be open to other ideas a
person will never know what idea is going to present itself and it just may work for the team. If a team
follows these simple rules they can often keep discussions positive and constructive. This helps a team
stay on task and prevent destructive conflict that can spiral out of control and destroy a team. If
conflict does occur always remember to take a positive approach to resolving the conflict. As long as
the discussions stay courteous and are done in a non confrontational

Drug Therapy And Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Amanda Bynes, an American actress, was diagnosed with both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in
2013. Treatment of these disorders can be approached in medical, biological and psychological ways,
including the use of family therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy. However, a popular method of
treating many mental disorders is antipsychotics or antipsychotic drugs.
Antipsychotic drugs are drugs that are used to treat schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders.
Medications have undergone significant improvement over the past few decades and can be effective
for psychotic symptoms, anxiety, depression and other disorders. Antipsychotic drugs work by

Bipolar disorder is an unstable emotional condition involving extreme mood swings of depression and

For the treatment of bipolar disorder, antipsychotic medicines are sometimes prescribed to treat
episodes of mania or hypomania. Examples of antipsychotic medicines include: aripiprazole,
olanzapine, quetiapine and risperidone. These drugs may also be used as a long term mood stabiliser
and quetiapine can be used for the treatment of bipolar depression in the long term. Antipsychotic
medicines can be particularly useful if symptoms are severe or behaviour is disturbed. As there is a
chance that the antipsychotics could cause side effects, the initial dose will usually be low. These side
effects could include weight gain, blurred vision, constipation and dry mouth. If prescribed an
antipsychotic medicine, regular health checks will be required at least every three months. If the
symptoms don t improve, the patient may be offered lithium and valproate as well.

The Field Of Development And Myself Than Ever Before
Skills Learned Over the course of three months I have learned more about the field of development
and myself than ever before. There were many things that surprised me, both positively and
negatively, but as a whole much more in the positive realm. Having a CO OP directly in my field of
study, especially as my first placement, has given me insight into what I already do well and areas for
improvement, but also insight into where I see myself one day. Some of the integral skills my summer
at GAC taught me were taking direction from multiple sources, stress management, and using French
as a second language. Working for two teams within a branch no matter where you are working poses
challenges. In my past work of fast food and retail, switching from cooking to serving or from mens to
ladies fashion can be complex but nothing compared to having the responsibility of two full time
government jobs in one. I would receive emails every day, multiple times a day, asking my to do what
seemed like ten things per email. I learned to deal with high volumes of tasks you must identify what
the person is asking and what tasks will take priority. As a student, it can be intimidating to turn down
work or tell people you cannot do what they are asking. However, it is a necessity in order to get work
done. Equally, being clear with superiors of what you are already working on diminishes unrealistic
expectations of completion times. I found it very helpful to email multiple people that had

Meaning Of Words In Adah s A Silent Vow
Has a speech ever been presented that was very meaningful, but was also short and cut straight to the
point? The proverb words should be weighed, not counted perfectly shows that. When someone is
giving advice, a person doesn t just sit there and count the amount of words that are being said; they
pay attention to the message and grasp the concept. This proverb originates from a Yiddish (Jewish)
author. It s understandable why he would say something like this because his ancestors went through
the Holocaust. They tried explaining how they felt, but no one (especially Hitler) listened to them
which caused them to forcefully adapt. Another example, FBLA has planned a fundraiser to sell a
product for premature babies. Their item of sale is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adah s poem is very revealing. Within the first few lines, the author wrote; But the silence of a pen on
a paper is a great sound (Adah). Although using pen and paper could be used to count the words, what
the person wrote down made a great sound . It shows that sometimes, people can t just speak their
mind; each thought needs to be written out, taking each word into deep consideration. This poem
shows that you don t have to speak literal words to get your point across. Tony states, Here I have
taken a silent vow and my pen spits liquid pellets on the faces of retreating army (Adah). Without
moving a single facial muscle, words that are written down can mean the world to the right person.
Fighting battles could be as easy as an arrangement of the alphabet 26 simple letters. Tony s work
enhances this proverb by taking a silent vow against stereotypes. Worded better than anyone else
could have, Adah says, Here where I am the commander of the silent war and the pen my silent gun
(Adah). As the author, commander, of this work of literature; Adah controls the silent gun (pen). He
battles the stereotype that one has to openly speak without thinking about what they re saying.
Contemplate all expressions; don t argue blindly. A person shouldn t think on their feet . A Silent Vow
elaborates on quality over quantity through each line that Tony Adah

What is Digital Angel?
Digital Angel is a location and condition system that can alert you of the exact location or people,
pets, or objects in real time. When you purchase the system, it comes with a clip on system monitor
and a ThermAlert watch. It will alert you when if the person wearing is in trouble, and since the
monitor is accompanied with a Global Positioning System (GPS), you can pinpoint the person s
location to 75 feet. You can also check the status of the person at any time of the day through a

One of the main issues brought up in putting this sort of product out to the public is the privacy issue.
There is somebody who knows where the user is, every second of every day. With this, great deal of
privacy and security is at risk. This kind of knowledge is very tempting for those who may not have
the best intentions. Management may misuse or sell the information that the product provides. People
have almost no protection from businesses that want to use your personal records for profit, so who is
to stop them from doing it? The GPA can be used to develop precisely targeted information
concerning thier personal habits. Hackers also may be able to access information for their own
personal gain. Another issue brought up is the reliance on databases. A slight error in the information
can have a major effect on somebody s life. It is extremely difficult to detect inaccurate information in
databases. There have been many cases of database errors ruining people s lives. Is it right to record
somebody s personal information when there is room for human error?

Assessing the Value of Electronic Medical Records
Assessing the Value of Electronic Medical Records Introduction The potential for Electronic Medical
Records (EMR) to transform healthcare making it more accurate, efficient and cost effective is
significant. Studies indicate that the most common workflows and processes that EMR systems are
used for automating can save a healthcare provider up to 67% of the total costs of correcting error
filled reports and minimizing the costs of malpractice insurance as a result (Walker, 2005). The best
and most significant Return on Investment (ROI) of all however are the significant gains made in
patients recovery time and effectiveness of treatment programs (Darr, Harrison, Shakked, Shalom,
2003). Between the cost reductions made possible through effective use of EMR systems and the ROI
of saving lives, the collection of these technologies, systems and processes show significant potential
in streamlining patient based workflows while increasing the quality of care (Richards, Prybutok,
Ryan, 2012). Analysis Of EMR Benefits To The Patient And Healthcare Providers The greater the
accuracy and efficiency of analysis and diagnosis of a given condition or disease, the more completely
a physician can define a treatment plan with a high probability of success. EMR systems provide a
single system of record for the entire treatment history of a patient, including any previously
attempted treatment programs and their results (Walker, 2005). This system of record on a per patient

To begin with, The People s Housing Cooperative will be based on the following components for a

1. Land: which is referring to the physical location in which the structure was and/or has been built.
2. Construction Materials: which is referring to all materials utilized to erect a house including

3. Labor: which is referring to the physical activity employed by many persons to erect the house?

Three Reasons For The Overward Sloping Aggregate Demand Curve
1. There are a number of reasons for this relationship. Recall that a downward sloping aggregate
demand curve means that as the price level drops, the quantity of output demanded increases.
Similarly, as the price level drops, the national income increases. There are three basic reasons for the
downward sloping aggregate demand curve. These are Pigou s wealth effect, Keynes s interest rate
effect, and Mundell Fleming s exchange rate effect. These three reasons for the downward sloping
aggregate demand curve are distinct, yet they work together. The first reason for the downward slope
of the aggregate demand curve is Pigou s wealth effect. Recall that the nominal value of money is
fixed, but the real value is dependent upon the price level. This is because for a given amount of
money, a lower price level provides more purchasing power per unit of currency. When the price level
falls, consumers are wealthier, a condition which induces more consumer spending. Thus, a drop in
the price level induces consumers to spend more, thereby increasing the aggregate demand. The
second reason for the downward slope of the aggregate demand curve is Keynes s interest rate effect.
Recall that the quantity of money demanded is dependent upon the price level. That is, a high price
level means that it takes a relatively large amount of currency to make purchases. Thus, consumers
demand large quantities of currency when the price level is high. When the price level is low,
consumers demand a

An unrestricted free agent is able to sign with any team he chooses, hence the term unrestricted. While
a restricted free agent s original team has the opportunity to keep the player by matching other teams

The Pros And Cons Of Prison Incarceration
Regardless of what you might see on TV the verdict of not guilty by the reason of insanity is an
immensely rare plea for anyone. A majority of offenders with a mental illness still end up incarcerated.
Even though the United States only makes up 5% of the world s population we account for 25% of the
world s prisoners. Which converts to 2.2 million prisoners and about 1.2 million of those people have
a mental illness (Fellner). Mental illness within our jails and prisons has become very prevalent within
our correctional systems over the last 10 years. The number of men and women who have a mental
illness that end up in jail or prison grows day by day. For those who do not go into the prison with a
mental illness, will very likely develop some form of mental illness after being released from
incarceration. The mentally ill do not belong in prison, the purpose for incarceration is retribution,
incapacitation, deterrence and rehabilitation, and though it is originally meant for all of these
purposes, it has lost its meaning. Correctional facilities are not built to provide treatment for the
mentally ill, and the people who have been diagnosed with a mental illness cannot get the long term
treatment they need inside of a prison cell. A significant number of people who come into prison have
a variety of mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, major depression, and manic depression.

The United States Tax Code
With the ever increasing complexity of the United States tax code, it has become more important than
ever for companies to understand and implement possible tax benefits for the company and its
employees. One major benefit that applies to both is employer provided meals. Employer provided
meals have become a major topic due to their double sided benefits. These are both tax beneficial to
employers, as the meals can be deducted by the business as an expense on its federal income tax
return, which reduces the business tax liability. Concurrently, the benefit of the provided meal is
excluded from the taxable gross income of the employee, providing the employee with a tax free
benefit. After fully understanding the laws related to employer provided meals, a business could begin
thinking about implementation of the benefit.
Due to the nature of the benefits, there are several sections of applicable tax code that will need to be
considered. This comes from the United States Code Title 26, which is the Internal Revenue Code
(IRC). The meals are both tax beneficial to a company and its employees. The meals can be deducted
by the business as an expense on its federal income tax return, which reduces the tax liability.
Employees also receive a benefit from the excludability of the provided meal from their taxable gross
income. One will need to understand what is included in employee income, the requirements for meals
to be provided for the convenience of the employer, and how

While these costs have been rising relative to sales, the company believes that its future success will
be a result of its increased knowledge in effectively and efficiently generating traffic. As illustrated in
Exhibit 6, quarterly revenues increased significantly throughout 2004, while traffic acquisition costs
as a percentage of revenues began to decline.
In addition, the financial statements demonstrate that liquidity remains strong. The horizontal balance
sheet illustrates that cash and cash equivalents rose 639% over the three year period beginning with
fiscal year 2002. Furthermore, short term investments increased 1839% over the same period.
These measures are important for a variety of reasons. As Google attempts to become the front runner
in the web search and online advertising industries, it is beginning to face considerable litigation
regarding its advertising policy. Paris courts recently reached a decision surrounding this issue and
luxury goods maker Louis Vuitton. Secondly, as the marketplace witnesses the current success and
growth of Google, it is inherent that more competitors will emerge. These companies may draw
interest in terms of acquisition from Google, potentially complementing current operations. Strong
liquidity will allow the company to handle the presence of lawsuits and the ability to fund such
acquisitions without the need for additional capital through debt or equity financing.

Pleasantville And A Clockwork Orange Essay
Pleasantville and A Clockwork orange are both films that have certain things that are abnormal.
Pertaining to Pleasantville it begins in black and white and end to be in color because of being
exposed of certain things. In a Clockwork Orange that is exposed with violence robbery is highly
unusual because it is not something morally right to do. While analyzing both of these movies they
both have certain distortions that can be covered that make their own individually, out of ordinary, a
tad shocking and unsatisfactory, and more to meet the eye. In Pleasantville, disorder starts to happen
slowly as the movie proceeds. While David and Jennifer fight over the remote, there seems to be some
strange guy at the door. This TV guy suddenly gives them a remote and they are magically in the
world of Pleasantville. Pleasantville is a world that would be described as happy, and perfect, with
perfect parents, school, a perfect town, and also with perfect children. The symbolism here is that
everything is in black and white for a reason. The people of Pleasantville are very unaware of
everything else, all they know is about Pleasantville, there are no books, and not even sex, and even
the main streets have no limits. Even Mary Sue, who is Jennifer, asked her teacher Miss Peters, What s

Most conductors started out as steamboat or coastal packet captains before working a job on the
railroad (Lives on the Railroad). Steamboats and ships were the means of transportation of the time for
passengers and freight until the invention of the railroad. With the expansion of the railroad, one of the
conductor s job responsibilities was to keep the train on schedule (Lives on the Railroad). The railroad
became a popular alternative for freight transportation and for passengers ( Railroad Conductors 279).
The railroad offered a faster convenience for travel. Conductors sold tickets to passengers and counted
the tickets to keep records in order (Lives on the Railroad). Maintaining proper records was important
for business. Also, making a list of the names that the tickets were sold were important so that one

Bay will cause problems for not just fish and other species but the people who fish and make a living
off of it. A large decrease in algae population will have a domino effect on the food chain. Having a
major decrease in algae will hurt how others species live and protect themselves. The food chain of the
Chesapeake Bay is very simple. It has fish, big fish depend on small fish. The small fish feed off of
oysters or sometimes zooplankton. Oysters then feed off of many small zooplankton. Once, it gets
down to what the zooplankton feed off of it is mostly algae or grass. Now, since there is a major
decrease in the algae population, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the algae growing so close to the edge or shoreline they are constantly taking in the run off or
whatever may be on the shoreline. This makes it very bad for not just the algae but also the the water
and species living down under. A lot of this pollution may come from the big city plants. Their
disposals might just be fed right into the Chesapeake Bay and they probably do not care. This is a big
problem all over the world, not just the Chesapeake Bay. (Decline of Submerged Plants in the
Chesapeake Bay) Another reason to why there is such a decline in not just algae but other grasses is
that the warming trend over the last 20 years, global warming. By the looks of it, the warming trend is
not going to stop, so this may be a problem to deal with for a longer time. Natural diseases is another
way the decline in algae and other grass plants is happening. Mostly dead organisms is the reason for
these natural diseases. Once you get a bunch of bacteria and fungi, you will hope to get rid of the
algae or grasses because it will most likely just end up making the Bay worse, and turning away
species. The number of hurricanes the Chesapeake Bay takes does not help the cause. Hurricanes are
affecting the salinity of the Bay. The salinity affects the growth and the amount that grows in a plant
as well. (Decline of Submerged Plants in the Chesapeake Bay) The pollution can fall down into the
water and you may find pollutants in the sediment. The sediment is home to many species. It can be
very protective to large predators and large predators can possibly hide in there while they wait for an
attack. Ways the pollutants are getting down there is carelessness by the fisherman and the people in
charge of it to take

Panel (a) in figure (3) shows that despite ratio of investment spending to demand for domestic savings recorded 84%, in average, with standard deviation 10.3%; however, these ratios fluctuated around a relatively horizontal trend during the considered period. Accordingly, it can be said that public budget deficit works as a constraint to investment spending. In other words, it can be said that public spending competes with investment spending for domestic savings, a familiar problem known as crowding out. Ginott believes that the teacher is the influential element in the classroom and is like a parent that holds the authority to make or break a students personality (Charles, 2011; Ginott, 1971). Ginott s Key Ideas 1. Discipline: Discipline is a series of little successes. 2. Self Discipline: The most important element is a teacher s own self discipline. 3. Sane Messages: Address the situation not the students personality. 4. Congruent Communication: Teachers use congruent communication that is harmonious with students own feelings. However, the time period of the 1600 s through 1774 would have many trails, errors, and triumphs, and all would test the limits and the strengths of the newfound settlers, and would prove these opportunities to be a long, difficult road to success. • 10. Why Prostitution Should Be Legalize Prostitution The act of engaging in sexual activity or intercourse in exchange for payment defines prostitution. The widely known view of prostitution continues to persist along the lines of immoral, unhealthy, violent, and discriminating. Many countries criminalize prostitution with the intentions of eliminating the problem altogether. This, in fact, drove prostitution underground making the problem even messier. No matter the view, the sex work industry will always have a demand. The networth of prostitution outweighs America s illegal drug and gun trade combined. Therefore, prostitution isn t going anywhere and remains one of the oldest professions in history. Many countries have already legalized prostitution including Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Austria, and Belgium. In doing so, these countries have the capability to maintain a proper work environment and provide health regulations among many other things. Prostitution should be legalized to ensure the medical safety of the prostitutes and their clients. Due to the criminalization of prostitution, prostitutes generally have a higher risk of transferring sexually transmitted diseases. A sexually transmitted disease, or STD, are diseases or infections that can only travel through a sexual act. Prostitutes make money from having sex with other people and in order to become prosperous, they must have sex with several different people. Many clients also refuse to use condoms. The prostitute will usually be offered more money if they participate in the sexual act without the use of a condom. Condoms are proven to be highly successful in preventing someone from contracting or spreading an STD according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. If infected, many prostitutes are unaware of their condition because they can t afford to visit a healthcare professional or carry health insurance. The combination of a prostitutes tendency to exchange sexual intercourse with multiple people and the client s refusal to use condoms opens the prostitute to a greater possibility of transmitting an STD. Since a medical check up isn t financially an option or required for the prostitutes, the prostitute may potentially be spreading an STD to their client unknowingly. ... Truly, Williams particular choice of music not only fits the setting of the story, but also allows him to construct complex characters and establish the mood for the scenes of the play. This poem shows that you don t have to speak literal words to get your point across. Tony states, Here I have taken a silent vow and my pen spits liquid pellets on the faces of retreating army (Adah). Without moving a single facial muscle, words that are written down can mean the world to the right person. Fighting battles could be as easy as an arrangement of the alphabet 26 simple letters. Tony s work enhances this proverb by taking a silent vow against stereotypes. Worded better than anyone else could have, Adah says, Here where I am the commander of the silent war and the pen my silent gun (Adah). As the author, commander, of this work of literature; Adah controls the silent gun (pen). He battles the stereotype that one has to openly speak without thinking about what they re saying. Contemplate all expressions; don t argue blindly. A person shouldn t think on their feet . A Silent Vow elaborates on quality over quantity through each line that Tony Adah ... Assessing the Value of Electronic Medical Records Assessing the Value of Electronic Medical Records Introduction The potential for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to transform healthcare making it more accurate, efficient and cost effective is significant. Studies indicate that the most common workflows and processes that EMR systems are used for automating can save a healthcare provider up to 67% of the total costs of correcting error filled reports and minimizing the costs of malpractice insurance as a result (Walker, 2005). The best and most significant Return on Investment (ROI) of all however are the significant gains made in patients recovery time and effectiveness of treatment programs (Darr, Harrison, Shakked, Shalom, 2003). Between the cost reductions made possible through effective use of EMR systems and the ROI of saving lives, the collection of these technologies, systems and processes show significant potential in streamlining patient based workflows while increasing the quality of care (Richards, Prybutok, Ryan, 2012). Analysis Of EMR Benefits To The Patient And Healthcare Providers The greater the accuracy and efficiency of analysis and diagnosis of a given condition or disease, the more completely a physician can define a treatment plan with a high probability of success. • 28. Three Reasons For The Overward Sloping Aggregate Demand Curve 1. There are a number of reasons for this relationship. Recall that a downward sloping aggregate demand curve means that as the price level drops, the quantity of output demanded increases. Similarly, as the price level drops, the national income increases. There are three basic reasons for the downward sloping aggregate demand curve. These are Pigou s wealth effect, Keynes s interest rate effect, and Mundell Fleming s exchange rate effect. These three reasons for the downward sloping aggregate demand curve are distinct, yet they work together. The first reason for the downward slope of the aggregate demand curve is Pigou s wealth effect. Recall that the nominal value of money is fixed, but the real value is dependent upon the price level. This is because for a given amount of money, a lower price level provides more purchasing power per unit of currency. When the price level falls, consumers are wealthier, a condition which induces more consumer spending. Thus, a drop in the price level induces consumers to spend more, thereby increasing the aggregate demand. The second reason for the downward slope of the aggregate demand curve is Keynes s interest rate effect. Recall that the quantity of money demanded is dependent upon the price level. That is, a high price level means that it takes a relatively large amount of currency to make purchases. Thus, consumers demand large quantities of currency when the price level is high. The United States Tax Code With the ever increasing complexity of the United States tax code, it has become more important than ever for companies to understand and implement possible tax benefits for the company and its employees. One major benefit that applies to both is employer provided meals. Employer provided meals have become a major topic due to their double sided benefits. These are both tax beneficial to employers, as the meals can be deducted by the business as an expense on its federal income tax return, which reduces the business tax liability. Concurrently, the benefit of the provided meal is excluded from the taxable gross income of the employee, providing the employee with a tax free benefit. After fully understanding the laws related to employer provided meals, a business could begin thinking about implementation of the benefit.
