Australian Aboriginal Health Issues
The health of the Australian Indigenous Population is a significant domain in Australia that represents
a myriad of issues that affects the integrity of Indigenous Australians as the traditional owners of the
land. On the contrary, these issues challenge the validity of Australia as a nation committed to closing
the gap between health outcomes of Indigenous Australians in comparison to non Indigenous
Australians.
Kowal (2015) explores the correlation between early colonisation of the Europeans in the eighteenth
century and its perpetual effects on Australia s Indigenous Population. Kowal (2015) suggested this
correlation to be the organic barometer of continued colonial oppression (pg. 5) relative to the
polarising definition that health for Indigenous Australians compared to non Indigenous Australians
strays from the biomedical approach of health and places explicit emphasis on the social, emotional
and cultural well being of an individual as well as their population as an entity. The result of the lack

Indigenous Australians health outcomes are considerably poorer than non Indigenous Australians
through substantiation of socioeconomic factors such as employment, income and education (Biddle,
2014). As the Australian Bureau of Statistics found in 1998, the constant and cumulative gap between
the health outcomes of Indigenous and non Indigenous Australians is increasing and continues to
become larger as the likelihood of Indigenous people who access health services is less feasible than
non Indigenous people due to disparities in health literacy and the ability to make informed health
choices. (Australian Government,

Analysis Of The Book Ordinary People By Judith Guest

Mrs, Stob Cycle of Life
Per:1
Young people live life by the day. The process of self discovery begins as a teenager. For some, this
could take years. For others, it could happen quickly. Sometimes hardship leads people towards self
discovery. In the book Ordinary People, by Judith Guest, Conrad struggles with his identity; in the
past, Conrad was never able to do anything without his brother s influence. Once his brother drowns,
Conrad feels lost without him. In the beginning, middle and end of the book, Conrad goes through the
stages of grief, and through this process, Conrad discovers his identity. The stages of grief are
demonstrated in Conrad s relationships with his family and friends. Conrad has experienced
depression and a suicide attempt in response to his brother s death. At the beginning of the book,
Conrad is going through the first stage of grief, which is shock and denial. Conrad s father, Cal,
worries about Conrad s mental health and gives him the name of a therapist. However, Conrad does
not call him. Cal believes that Conrad, ought to stick with the plan (13) However, Conrad can t
[because he] is swimming every night...[He doesn t] need to see anybody. [He] feels fine (13). Conrad
is uncomfortable talking about the death, and seeing a therapist would require him to talk. Conrad is
afraid to feel his emotions. He thinks if he just avoids thinking about his brother s death, he will be
okay. The second

The Roles Of Sophie Scholl
There were about 67 million people living in Germany during the time of the Holocaust, however only
a few had the bravery to speak out against the Nazis. Sophie Scholl was one of these courageous
people. It is evident that Sophie Scholl is a great role model who impacted Germany because she
wrote anti Nazi propaganda, fought for what she thought was right, and Germans today admire her.
Sophie grew up during the Nazi takeover in Forchtenberg, Germany. Unlike most German families,
hers had their own ideas about the Nazi party. Her father, who was a former mayor of several small
towns in Germany, warned Sophie and her brothers about the new regime eventually abusing their
power (Biography in Context). Her parents also encouraged their children to think for themselves and
speak their minds (Student Resource Center). This parental support foreshadows what Sophie and her
brother would become. The Scholl household was very supportive of their family members.
When Sophie was twelve years old, she joined the League of German Girls. This was a pseudo Nazi
organization (Pettinger). These organizations, called Hitler Youth Organizations, trained and educated
German teenagers to become loyal followers of the Nazi Party (Zapotczny). Initially, Sophie excelled
in the League of German Girls. She enjoyed the activities and was even promoted to a leadership
position. However, Sophie eventually became skeptical about the organization she was in (Pettinger).

Social Location Essay
Social location is the central ideal of a person. It is . . . is where all aspects of one s identity meet (kirk
Okazawa, 15). It determines a person s social standing and self definition. It is a powerful tool in
defining one s identity and without it, an identity would not be the same thing. It affects one s view of
reality and how the person may interpret the world. With a social location of a caucasion, upper
middle class, woman from the Midwest I have much leverage in society, this leverage allows me a lot
of leeway and influence. As a white, upper middle class, woman, I politically have a lot of power. My
vote is constantly being vied over by both republicans and democrats. Since my families wealth lends
us to the republican views, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I grew up in a community very homogenious and it is hard to understand that people s experiences
effect their understandings and alter our expectations. The idea of having a similar exterior equating to
a similar background is detrimental and creates a lot of distance between social locations because it
perpetuates stereotyping and essentialism. If you rely on looks and other identifying factors you will
miss much of the person, as people are always more than just one thing they identify, or have been
identified as. Misunderstanding creates distance because it leads people to retreat back into their own
communities that they recognize and know and perpetuates stereotypes of identities. I think it is
possible to diminish these distances by creating diaglogue between groups of people who identify
differently than eachother. Much can be said for facilitating discussion amongst people of different
backgrounds. It can aid in helping people gain a deeper understanding of one another and it allows a
free exchange of emotions and ideas that in the end bridge the gap between communities. I know
when I am exposed to new things or communities it is a learning process that requires of me to be
understanding and open minded, but it has always helped to bridge that gap of otherness and helps me
think in different more collective ideas about

What Is Auschwitz Concentration Camp Dehumanization
When the Jews were put into concentration camps, they were treated poorly and dehumanized.
Although every camp was bad, Jews suffered the most cruelty in Auschwitz. The Auschwitz
concentration camp was the deadliest camp. In 1940, Auschwitz was built in the city of Oswiecim
(Auschwitz Birkenau: History Overview). During the beginning, the camp was originally used to
simply scare Poles who disagreed with the German Rule. It later became the general network for all of
the concentration camps. The camp had an immense display and could hold numerous inmates.
Together this complex was the largest of all the Nazi death camps across Europe and could hold
upwards of 150,000 inmates at any given time (Auschwitz Birkenau: History Overview). Inside

M is for Medicine
M is for Medicine. Medicine is how they would cure the ill. The Sumerians used ingredients from
plants, animals, and minerals. They also used a wide variety of ingredients, including milk, salt, turtle
shell, fig and salt. The physicians or scholars would prescribe the medicines you need by looking at
your symptoms, or what part of the body it was used in. There are more than 420 lists on clay tablets
found just for medicine.
E is for the Epic of Gilgamesh
E is for the Epic of Gilgamesh. An epic is a long poem that tells the story of a hero. The Epic of
Gilgamesh is the world s oldest epic. It was first recorded in 2000 B.C. on clay tablets. This epic is
about Gilgamesh and his friend Enkidu. It teaches a valuable lesson to appreciate what you have.
S is for Surplus
S is for surplus. A surplus is having more than you need. After the Sumerians invented the irrigation
system, they had more food than they needed. This caused them to have a food surplus. When they

The United States has laws that affect the hiring practices of all country based companies. Regulations
of federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Labor protects employees in the United States
from discrimination to wages. Other Countries may not have the same protection for its citizens as an
example. Although U.S. based organizations would not be bound to the wage laws of other countries,
they are usually morally bound to ethical practices by which they establish core principles that are
filtered down to their employees. Jeopardizing this standard of ethics would have a broad based effect
on the organizations overall effectiveness considering a platform of which to maintain a standard that
all employees can act on behalf of. Compromising ethics and social value could present major public
relation issues. A perfect example of this would be the Hershey Corporation. The Hershey Corporation
of the United States is North America s largest chocolate producer, however at one time most of its
cocoa was purchased from West African Nations. These Nation s had a very poor record of labor
fairness and was reported to employ children in long and unsafe working conditions. Although this
was against Hershey s published core values, the company sought refuge in the fact that none of these
children were employed by the Hershey Corporation and therefore claimed plausible deniability. A
public relations campaign ensued which prompted the corporation

The Scene Of A Fur Coat Catwalk Show
The ad starts off with a short drumroll with lively and catchy background music, indicating an
upcoming important event, which is a fur coat catwalk show. Beautiful women start modelling on the
catwalk on by one. The scene shows audience and models alternatively. Once the first model starts to
walk, cameras of the reporters have not stopped flashing. Audience whistle and applaud as models
walk in front of them, who are showing off the fur coat on their bodies seductively.
The scene transfers to multiple audience s face, capturing especially their unconscious actions, like
biting their lips with hungry eyes, eyes following every movement of the models. consecutively
showing female audiences jealousy, admiration and love towards the models wearing fur, with their
eyes stick to every movement of the fur coat model. Moreover, the scene captures one of the male
audience expression of appreciation, towards these fur coat models. In a wide angle, all of the
audiences cannot take their eyes off these models.
The music suddenly turns minor, contrasting to an elegant turn around of one of the models. Suddenly
there is a splash of blood on an audience s face. Her face immediately turned sour, and painful. More
drops of blood are then seen on the catwalk, and on more audience s faces. They are frightened and
shocked as more blood is splashed on their faces. The background music turns to compact sound of
the animal jungle. Audience fearfully look at their blood covered hands and back

Cinco De Mayo Essay
Cinco De Mayo Ever since fourth grade, one of my best friends have been Taylor Elam. Over the
years that we ve been friends we ve had some jokes. My mom loves Mexican food; Taylor used to not
like mexican food very much. Whenever our families would go out to eat, my mom would suggest
something mexican. Whenever mexican was suggested by my mom, Taylor would respond of course
Hope wants mexican, and whenever someone would ask where we were going to eat Taylor would
say, Hope wants mexican! which we would always laugh about.
A couple years ago, on Cinco De Mayo, we had a soccer game. We went to the game and afterwards

The waitress came back to our table. She came down to the kids table and started asking what we

What all comes on them? I responded. Just chips, meat, and queso. Can I add on lettuce please? Yes.
The waitress finished getting everyone s orders and went back to put them in. It was taking a while for
our food to come so, us kids started coloring, messing around, and eating more of the chips with dip.
My dad and Taylor s mom took a few pictures of Taylor, Megan, and I. We were making silly faces;
we kept laughing. To this day I still have one of the pictures in my room as a memory. After waiting,

The concept that makes Panera successful is the fact that the company serves healthy and high quality
food at an affordable price. Increasing prices to facilitate higher quality service in an effort to promote
corporate aspirations will provide Panera with negative feedback from its customers (Wharton, 2010).
The happiness that Panera customers experience with the products they are receiving now can be
verified through Shaich s statement in the video that Panera has an incredibly high customer loyalty.
Alternative Solutions It seems that Panera s biggest solution to its problem is simply maintaining the
momentum they have established in the business market. Panera Bread Company has not
overextended itself and can be found on every street corner (Wharton, 2010). Following the Concept
Essence that Panera set for itself eighteen years ago may not be the most efficient way to self improve.
The requirements that are needed now in order to provide quality products and services may very well
be different than what was needed eighteen years ago. The Concept Essence may need to be reviewed
and fixed in an effort to be more compliant with the standards of 2012 and the needs of the customer
in slower economy. Revising the Concept Essence could provide Panera with a more concrete goal to
aim for. However, revising the Concept Essence may interfere with the fundamental

Genetic Privacy And The Human Genome Project
With bounding advances in the field of genomics, genetic privacy has sparked a controversy. In the
1980s, the Human Genome Project was established to sequence the entirety of the human genome.
The first draft of this project was published in Nature in February, 2001, about 10 percent short of
completion (National Institutes of Health [NIH], 2015). Originally, scientists had hypothesized that
there was anywhere from 50,000 to 140,000 genes. However, after the release of the first draft and the
later completion of the full sequence in April of 2003, it was revealed that there were actually about
20,500 genes (NIH, 2015). Since April 2003, the structure, organization, and function of these many
genes has begun to be better understood (NIH, 2015). As genetics moved forward, there was hope of
application in the fields of criminal justice and medicine. According to the International Homicide
Investigators Association, 40,000 unidentified deaths occur in the United States annually (Willing
2006). That means every year, 40,000 people have families who remain unsure whether their missing
loved ones are still alive. If the justice system had access to a national genetic database, this issue
could be resolved; if all citizens could provide the justice system with samples of their DNA, criminal
cases and missing persons cases could be solved at a more efficient rate. Furthermore, if doctors had
access to every patient s genetic information, they could be informed about possible health

Common Childhood Illness Research Paper
Childhood Illnesses
Chickenpox is one of the most common childhood illnesses, it causes a red rash itchy rash that turns
into fluid filled spots, it can vary from a small rash to the spots covering the whole body. The spots are
more likely to appear on the face, around the ears, under arms and belly. The child is likely to have a
fever and due to the spots being so itchy they will feel uncomfortable and irritated, mild painkillers
can temporarily alleviate this however there I no found treatment to stop chickenpox. The incubation
period for chickenpox is between one and three weeks; its most infectious time is between one and
two days before the rash appears, but it continues to be infectious until all the blisters have crusted
over. This means that if a child has got chickenpox they must be away from the nursery for 2 3 weeks
so that other children are protected.
General colds/coughs are normal in children and they will on average have around 8 a year, this is
because they have an immunity to the common cold however as they get older they will get colds less
as their immunity is growing stronger with each cold they get. The symptoms are a runny nose, cough

Connections Between U.S. Presidents and Roman Emperors
Throughout history, countless leaders, had their periods of leadership among the masses; a story of
how they claimed their superior position. Are there connections though between leaders and their
lives, positions, and their form of a kingdom? My goal is to find these connections between the United
States current and former presidents, Barrack Obama and George W. Bush and two Roman emperors,
Augustus and his great grandson, Nero.
After a 20 year period of transition from the republic and the assassination of Julius Caesar, Augustus
returned to Rome forming an alliance with Mark Antony and Marcus Lepidus known as the Second
Triumvirate which led to the establishment of the Roman Empire. The first 206 years of the Roman
Empire were known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was suspected by some historians that Nero caused the fire of 64. Nero attempted to rebuild Rome
and organize the construction of the buildings that were burned or destroyed. The attempt to rebuild
Rome cost immense funds that the Rome State Treasury didn t have, causing the Roman currency to
decrease in value.
Nero was surrounded by death and as emperor was known for his many of his atrocities and
executions, including the execution of his mother. Even as a child, Nero was surrounded by death in
his family. Nero s father, Lucious Ahenobarbus, died when Nero was 2 years old. Several other family
members deaths followed including: his uncle, aunt and cousin; his half brother, and his mother. After
becoming emperor, he had ordered the execution of his mother for having indecent relations.
Later in his reign, Nero became one of the first prosecutors of Christians. After the fire of 64, Nero
tortured and executed countless Christians. Was known by some historians as the antichrist that the
bible predicted.
Our government now has great contrast to the Roman Empire but like the up Empire, we look to one
man for leadership and approval. In a democracy, that one man is known as the president. The masses
vote on a president to represent them for four years. As president, they have several responsibilities
whether it is foreign relations and policy, decided to pass a bill, deploying troops

Essay on The Afro-Americans and The Civil War
The Afro Americans and The Civil War
No officer in this regiment now doubts that the key to the successful prosecution of this war lies in the
unlimited employment of black troops. Their superiority lies simply in the fact that they know the
country, while white troops do not, and, moreover, that they have peculiarities of temperament,
position, and motive which belong to them alone. Instead of leaving their homes and families to fight
they are fighting for their homes and families, and they show the resolution and sagacity which a

The Proclamation also provided the acceptance of black men into the Union Army and Navy, thereby
letting those who were liberated to become liberators. Almost
200,000 black soldiers and sailors had fought for the Union and their freedom by the end of the war.
From the beginning of the Civil War, the slaves had acted to secure their own freedom.
The Emancipation Proclamation made the blacks realize that the war for the Union must become a
war for freedom. This added a moral force to the Union cause that strengthened the Union, both
militarily and politically. This document was a milestone on the road to slavery s final destruction.
When we see the words or read about the Colored Troops of the United States, we have to ask

via a single synapse between sensory axons and motor neurons and confined to the spinal cord. In this
experiment, two simple spinal reflexes the myotactic reflex and the H reflex were stimulated. We
compared a) the latency period the amount of time between a stimulus and the effector response and
the amplitude magnitude of an electrical signal of each reflex; then, b) the effect of the Jendrassik
Maneuver (JM) upon the latency period and amplitude of each respective reflex. For the myotactic
response, a mechanical stimulus, a sharp strike of the patellar tendon, was utilized to elicit a signal in
stretch receptors; however, to trigger the H reflex, an electrical impulse was applied. These reflexes
originate from an action potential produced by a sensory neuron when a stimulus is applied. Sensory
neurons transmit the action potentials to an integrating center the spinal cord where a response is
determined. Then, this response is taken back to the effector organ via motor neurons. The reflex
occurs while the brain is becoming aware of the stimulus. Furthermore, the myotactic reflex is

Summary

This report discusses the legality and ethics of a new piece of software launched in February 2001,
which allows ISP s to overlay advertising banners on any web page on the net with adverts sold by,

Copyright infringement and European Competition Law. Many examples of
Case Law were also investigated for their possible links with issues arising from the use of this

Upon reading the whole of this article (Appendix A) I found it very interesting and thought provoking
not only because this software development was so new, having only been released on 12th February
2001, but also because it was originally developed at Brunel
University and is being marketed by a local company in Leeds.
This new piece of software called Fotino allows ISP s to control the adverts which appear on a web
page. The software allows them to overlay advertising banners on any page on the net with adverts
sold by, and controlled by them. It was developed from the idea that ISP s hold more personal
information about their customers and can therefore target the advertising much more successfully. (A
printout of the
Marketing material for the product can be seen in appendix B.)

Deer Population Decrease
In recent years, the deer population has been rather high, but since the peak of the deer population in
the 1990s the population of deer has decreased by roughly 30 percent (Cleveland). There are many
causes and effects of the decrease in the deer population. Some of the reasons that there is a decrease
in the deer population is because of hunters, and also the amount of predators. The effects of this
decrease in the deer populations has lead to a change in the South Carolina law. The new law now
changes the number of deer that can be killed by the hunter each season. There is also an increase in
hunting predators of the deer, in hopes that this will help increase the population of deer once again.
The amount of doe killed has been limited, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Ruth from SCDNR we have done some very strong research in South Carolina, probably
the strongest in the southeast, that coyotes can be a significant predator for young deer fawn. SCDNR
completed a study at the Savannah River Site,SCDNR investigated the effect coyotes had on the
survival of fawns. According the SCDNR website the data from the experiment states that 80 percent
of the fawn mortality rate are due to coyotes (Cleveland). Because of the large amount of coyotes
SCDNR began to allow year around hunting for coyotes. Coyote hunting is allowed year around, and
requires no hunting license or permit, as long as they are 100 yards from the hunters house ( Hunters:
Help Control Coyotes and Save Our Deer! ). SCDNR also released 12 tagged coyotes across South
Carolina, there is a reward of at least $1000 for killing one of these tagged coyotes. The SCDNR did
this so it will encourage hunters to hunt the predators, that are not native to South Carolina, and are
one of the main reasons for the decrease in the population of deer (Cope, Cassie). The large amount of
coyotes is causing a decrease in deer, and because of the high number of coyotes it is causing an
increase in the amount of hunting for coyotes. SCDNR has tried to encourage hunters to hunt coyotes,
because while the deer population in South Carolina is still healthy, SCDNR

Treaty Of Versailles Economic Effects
EXAMINE THE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL IMPACT OF THE FIRST WORLD
WAR ON FRANCE.
The signing of the Treaty of Versailles was not the end of the World War One, since it s social,
economic and political effects influenced the lives of people long after the last shot was fired. And
France being one of world war one s theatre, these problems affected France to a great extent.
Even since before the war, France had a problem with the declining birth rate and the war death, of
about 1.3 million, worsened that problem. Post world war one, France had the highest proportion of
deaths than any other country involved in the war and that had a serious demographic impact. Women
were encouraged by the government to stay at home and raise families, as ... Show more content on

To solve this, the government implemented schemes to attract immigrant workers from around Europe
and although it succeeded in solving the problem with the lack of workers, it also may have had a
negative effect on the pride of the French. Additionally, the destruction of infrastructure and farmlands
further hindered any plans the French government had on stabilizing the economic situation in France.
One example of this, is the French coal mines that the German army had destroyed by blowing them
up, flooding them and filling them with waste material. Another issue was material losses, which was
devastating for the economy especially in the North eastern part of France. The areas under German
occupation suffered particular hardships which left a lasting impression on the economy and the local
population. Of around 1 million buildings as well as factories and transport infrastructure, such a
bridges, were damaged, and in order to pay off the war effort, the French government sold off its gold
reserves and investments and borrowed a massive amount of money. Income tax was also introduced
in 1916 but paid for only about one third of the cost of the war effort. At the end, about 30 billion
franc worth of debts was owed to mainly the US, Britain and some French middle class bondholders.
France tried to ease its burdens by putting the blame on Germany in the form of reparations, but that

Millard Meiss s Painting In Florence And Siena After The...
The Black Death left more than an impact on the population of Florence and Siena in Italy, it impacted
the economy, the religious views, and the art of the thirteenth century. Millard Meiss in his book
Painting In Florence And Siena After The Black Death highlights the changes that occur in the artistic
world in Florence and Siena after the Black Death hits in 1348, 1363, and 1374. He focuses on the
similarities between the two cities and reasons behind them such as the common experience of
economic failure, pestilence, social conflict, their fear, sense of guilt, and varieties of their religious
response (P. 8).

The chapter is structured to tell of the economic and political crises the cities experienced leading up
to the Black Death then moves onto the effects the plague had on culture and art. In the section about
the Black Death, Meiss used statistics of deaths in the cities to prove himself credible on the subject
but did not state the source from which he got the numbers. He also included anecdotes from survivors
such as Angolo di Tura to give a sense of imagery of the bodies piled up in the streets, piling them up
tier upon tier as merchandise is stowed in a ship (P. 65). In the section labeled The Effect Upon
Culture And Art, Meiss talks about the new opinions on art specifically about religious art, which
there was a new demand for. He explains in detail after the plague people led lives of irresponsible
pleasure. The reason Meiss talked about this consequence of the plague the most in the chapter was to
show how the people of the two cities lived each day like it was their last and became self indulgent.
He ties the conclusion of the chapter back to art and how the artists of the time transitioned into a new

The Trail Of Tears
Looking at the background of every great civilization it is very easy to see that every civilization has a
dark past. For example the United States has shameful things to look back on such as slavery and the
forceful moving of the indian tribes also known as the Trail of Tears. This shows that although the
country is great and well developed today they all had to do something to get to where they are today.
Italy is one of the most influential countries today. This where Christianity, Mythology, and also it was

the bigger picture. He is starting to see how barbaric and cruel being a gladiator is and he really doesn

and telling them that this is wrong and they are going to have to take a stand. The other gladiators are
not hearing him right away because the Roman Empire has them brainwashed. The Romans tell the
gladiators that it is a honor dying for their country, but really they are not. They are really dying for
the entertainment of the people of Rome. With time Spartacus got the point across to some of the

four consecutive elections, even receiving 6% of the popular vote in the 1912 elections against

Final Paper
This paper will examine the life of Kate Chopin along with her writing style and theme in The Story
of an Hour and The Awakening. Chopin has a unique writing style that shows throughout all of her
works. Her works carry similar themes that include: women in search of independence, negative views
of marriage, and self assertion. While reading Chopin s work, the reader will conclude that Chopin s
writing is very inspiring because she incorporates obstacles that she faced throughout her life. With
this technique used, it is easier for the reader to connect with Chopin on a personal level while reading
her works.

Chopin experienced many more tough times with the loss of her great grandmother, her brother, her

After she was believed to be sexually abused, Chopin began to isolate herself from everything. She

such rough times, Chopin went back to Sacred Heart Academy where she was encouraged by her

A Family s Nightmare in The King of a Vast Empire In Danielle Evans s collection of short stories
Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self, the story The King of a Vast Empire talks about how
traumatic events affect a family s bond. The main trauma in this story is a car accident that haunts this
family. Liddie, Terrance, and their parents got in a car accident one night. The dad was driving the car
when he was going around a dark curve in the road and hit another car. The other car was stopped in
the middle on the road because there was a fallen lumber in the middle of the road that their dad was

The father s drinking and the mother s temper result from the emotional impact of the devastating
accident. The family eventually had to move to other city because they could not bear living their
anymore because of the car accident. Not only did the accident affect the mom and dad, it affected the
children. A traumatic event can have a serious impact of the children that were involved in the car
accident. It was not until a year after the car accident that Liddie started to talk again. The kids grew
closer together. The King of a Vast Empire perfectly captures what it s like to be a brother and sister
united by grief and misunderstanding (VanDerWerff). The siblings were united by the trauma of the
car accident and became better friends. They only paid attention to yell at them. Terrance would
confront Liddie when she would have nightmares from the car accident: Liddie brought her
nightmares to me; I did what I could to comfort her (Evans, The King of a Vast Empire. 128). Liddie
and Terrance grow closer to one another. When Liddie decided not to come home from Thanksgiving
when she was in college, Terrence s mom bought him a ticket and went to see her for the
Thanksgiving. When Liddie had a crazy idea or wanted to change her major, Terrance supported her
when her mom disapproved of the change of major. Even though the kids had a hard time after the

patterns.
DSG had a store network much larger than its competitors, and so a higher cost base, with
considerable exposure to and reliance on the fast moving office/computer products market.
DSG was losing market share by experiencing declining comparable sales. Revenue growth was based

DSG s expansion plan required considerable financial commitment, utilised all cash resources,

Inventory decisions made in this environment were not consistent with consumer demand, and DSG

redirection. Redirection is where you talk to all parties and discusses what happened and what we
could have done differently, instead of sending a child to time out or to the corner; we will redirect
them to another activity. Maintaining program administration is keeping parents informed of
expectations of the program, activities, the child s progress and any incidents or accidents that may
have occurred during the day. One way to maintain the program is by having a daily schedule in each
classroom. Having a daily schedule with allow the teacher, parent, and child know what is going on

What went wrong
As with other PA faculties, you may be aware of the general complaints made by the first year PA
students about the Anatomy course. I do know my classmates were affected different; however, these
were my own personal challenges with the Anatomy course:
Disorganization of course material o Class reading assignments did not match Lecture o Lecture
PowerPoints were not provided despite request from several students. It was usually provided a couple
of days before the test. This shortened the time to study, memorize and focus on the necessary
anatomical structures.
Lack of guidance on how to study the information presented
As recommended during the PA orientation, I read the assigned readings for my courses; however, for
anatomy, this exercise quickly became futile only because it did not contribute to helping to
understand lectures provided in class. With voluminous reading assignments, many times, the anatomy
lecture focused little or none from the information in the textbook. Lectures mostly presented
anatomical structures and so focus on images were paramount. Therefore, the reading did little to help
understand lecture material if one is not familiar enough with the anatomical structures. While this
was the case, the PowerPoints with the anatomical structures were not provided.
Insufficient consistent guidance in the Anatomy Cadaver lab

When Apollo astronauts carried samples of the moon s surface back to earth, the rocks and sediments

The Apollo 11 mission brought back the first geologic samples from the Moon back to Earth.
Astronauts collected twenty two kilograms of material which acquired samples of the lunar soil, fifty
rock samples and two core tubes which was found below the moon s surface. All the samples was not

basalts were are solidified from molten lava. Basalts are made up of pyroxene and plagioclase which
was formed by two chemically different magma sources and are dark gray which is why the Moon

Langston Hughes Essay
Langston Hughes was a large influence on the African American population of America. Some of the
ways he did this was how his poetry influenced Martin Luther King Jr. and the Harlem Renaissance.
These caused the civil rights movement that resulted in African Americans getting the rights that they
deserved in the United States. Hughes was born in 1902 in Joplin, Missouri. His parents divorced
when he was young and his grandmother raised him. She got him into literature and education; she
was one of the most important influences on him. He moved around a lot when he was young, due to
his parents divorce, but remained a good student and graduated high school. After this he traveled the

All of these things, subject matter, themes, style, literary devices, and influences play into the way that
Hughes writes his poetry and they can all be seen in the poem Dream Variations . That is why the
poem is typical of Hughes writing.
The poem is very typical of Hughes subject matter and themes. This is because he usually writes about
racial subjects such as equality and the average life of an African American. Going so far as to say that
most of his poems are racial in theme and treatment, derived from the life that he knows ( An
Introduction to Langston Hughes. ). This poem does have the racial topic of equality for a couple of
reasons. To begin with, the speaker talks about how people should see the world and the other people
in it. Key word, should, because he then goes onto say, That is my dream! (Hughes l. 9). This is one
reason why Dream Variations has a theme centered on how everyone wants to be treated equally.
Because the speaker talks about how he wishes he was treated by the world. Along with the theme of
equality the poem s subject is the life of an average African American. This is because he speaks of
how he wants to dance Dance! Whirl! Whirl! Till the white day is done (Hughes ll. 12 13). Yet he
cannot because he has to work, and he tries to make his work seem like dancing but he is still very
tired at the end of the day. This shows the average life of an African American because they had to

What Dreams Are Essay
What Dreams Are
Dreams, we all have them at one time or another, and in one form or another. They can be daydreams,
when we re awake, wishing and hoping for something more (bigger and better) than we already have,
or the way we hope things should and would be. Next there is the wish, this is when there is a strong
desire for a specific thing, a longing for one particular thing. Then there is the nightmare. They are the
dreams that are very disturbing, full of fear and horror. They are often a very scary event played out

satisfy hidden wishes. However when one lives only in his daydreams, he may have a serious mental

businessman. These daydreams are universal and may actually help the person s ambition or creativity.
Wish, a strong desire and longing for a specific thing (Webster s 1336). A wish is to hope for
something with the expectation of it being fulfilled. We continue to hope and wish for things all our
lives, but it seems Young people have an almost biological destiny to be hopeful (Digest 49). Our
great writers have often used the word wish in their writings. Shakespeare is often quoted in his work,
for instance; Wish vb. Recommended (a person) to (another), commend to SHR 1. 1. 112. I wish him
to her father, SHR 1. 2. 60. To wish for something is similar to a daydream; however, it is usually for a
particular thing, like a bigger and better house or car. Also a wish can be an illusion where one s
perception of reality is mistaken. Nightmare, A frightening dream, often accompanied by a sensation

Coca Cola Company s New Strategy
The Coca Cola Company has been able to adapt with the times when it comes to public relations,
publicity, and advertising tactics. The company s tactics has had to evolve over the last century to be
able to keep current consumers, and attract new consumers. The key for any company is to be able to
adapted to changing technologies and processes. From the beginning, The Coca Cola Company
understood the importance of having a solid brand identity. There isn t a brand that is more branded
than The Coca Cola Company. When people think of Coke, people might think of the color red, the
iconic bottle shape, or maybe even polar bears. These easy identifiable symbols that represent Coke,
allows the company to build an integrated marketing plan around the iconic symbols. The Coca Cola
Company s new integrated campaign is meant to unite all the brands under the The Coca Cola
Company s umbrella. This is a new strategy for the Coca Cola Company, usually all the different Coke
Trademark brands, such as Diet Coke and Coke Zero have separate campaigns. If one thinks about
past Coca Cola campaigns different varieties of Coca Cola are not featured in the same still
advertising shot or commercial. The only time one see all The Coca Cola trademark brands together
are places where beverages are purchased such as a vending machine or the grocery store. This new
campaign will change that mindset. Not only does it unite the trademarked brands, but it unites the
global brands as well. This

World Is Too Much With USarknotes
What Becomes of Our Elegies?
William Wordsworth s poem The World is too Much with Us begins with a pessimistic, yet chillingly
accurate insight: The world is too much with us; late and soon, Getting and Spending, we lay waste
our powers (1 2). Wordsworth asks whether progress was just a convenient excuse for the sacrifices
mankind made during the Industrial Revolution. Alexander Pope, however, in his poem An Essay on
Man, claims that although humans inevitably err, they still redeem themselves through trial and error,
as indicated by contemporary examples. Therefore, under Pope s philosophy, The World is too Much
with Us symbolizes the lesson learned through human reasoning on human errors that characterized
the Industrial Revolution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially, the myopic drive for technology and material wealth had left humanity deprived of its soul.
The industrial empire extorted what it could from nature. According to World Resources Institute, the
planet has lost 80 percent of its forest cover to deforestation, and the number continues to increase.
With the accumulation of wealth, Mammonism and attendant moral problems ensued. In Korea, as
individuals were price tagged based on their economic productivity, the society stigmatized the elderly
for their apparent uselessness. As some chose suicide over social isolation, suicide rate of the elderly
increased twofold over the period of ten year, indicating the loss of morality. Still, like Wordsworth,
those critical of the status quo advocate social reform. For instance, to counter deforestation, the UN
Forum on Forests, is actively promoting reforestation by hosting European Forestry Commissions and
World Forestry Congresses. There also are signs of moral redemption. In Korea, approximately ten
thousand jobs for the elderly are being produced every year to forestall their social exclusion. Such
precedents are enough to prove that the inherent nature of humanity is to err and

Number the Star Annemarie is a brave little girl. She is very nice and very competitive. The character

and Ellen hair was dark. She also had a older sister named as Lise, but she had passed away. Lise
passed away because a military car hit her and she did not make it. Also, she has a little sister named
Kristen and she is very talkative. The adventures motivate the character because there s so many

Solomon Asch Conformity Study
In 1951, Solomon Asch, a gestalt psychologist conducted an experiment regarding conformity. In this
experiment, Asch tested how an individual can be influenced by a group of people and their views.
Even though the test wasn t extremely crucial. The purpose was to measure how likely individuals in
this society are to conform to the majority. Throughout the experiment, Asch saw how an individual
responded based on the answers of the group. With this, he was able to demonstrate how likely we are
to conform when there is group pressure.
In this experiment, Asch conducted a lab to test the conformity of the participants. All fifty of the
participants were males and students from a college in the United States. To be able to identify the
percentage of individuals that could conform to the thoughts and ideas of the majority, Asch had to
deceive the participants. The experiment involved seven confederates, most of them had agreed on
what they were going to say before the experiment unlike the real participant. In each of the trials,
both the participants and the confederates were shown cards one would be a single line, while the
other was a card with a set of lines. The participants and the confederates were to pick a line that
looked like the single line on the other card. However, the participant would usually be the second to
last to answer. Asch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this specific experiment, we can see how group pressure can affect our mental process and our
behavior. Knowing how our brain works can help us understand why we respond a certain way. What
the conformity experiment was trying to show was how likely an individual is to give into society s
ideals and beliefs, without questioning, out of fear of being ostracized or because they believe that the
group is better informed. With this experiment, we can understand the reason why our behavior and
mental processes can

The Confederation Act of 1867 Essay
The Confederation act of 1867 without question has had a major influence on the status of
contemporary Canada. It has helped shape Canada into one of the worlds most politically and
economically powerful countries; a country that is strong, independent, and united. There was a series
of events which led to the confederation of Canada, some which are more significant than others.
However, I believe that despite the significance of events such as the British encouragement of uniting
its North American colonies, the central and key reason for confederation was the fear of potential
American (Yankee) inhabitance (whether by persuasion or invasion) of the divided and vast British
North American colonies, and the way that the Fathers of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John A. Macdonald, the prime minister of Canada at the time, had seen first hand the effect of divided
colonies and the devastating impact that it could have on a nation. However, there was a serious and
impending threat against the colonies of Canada from the northern United States, not only because of
the British support of the southern states during the war, but also because of three specific events: The
St. Albans Raid, the Trent Crisis, and the Alabama Affair. The St. Albans raid involved a group of
confederate agents who robbed over two hundred thousand dollars (a significant amount of money in
the 1800 s) from three banks in St. Albans, Vermont. These raiders fled to Canada, and although they
were caught and the money was returned, they were not persecuted because they could not be trialed
in Canada when the crime had been committed in the United States. President Lincoln prevented the
northerners from pursuing the raiders into Canada to murder them, as this could have potentially
resulted in a war, which would in turn benefit the southern states. The Trent affair once again raised
tensions, when two Confederate diplomats were arrested in Boston while transferring a mail packet
Trent to England. This greatly angered London, as they sent many troops as reinforcements to protect
their colonies, eventually the diplomats were released and tensions eased once

  • 2. Australian Aboriginal Health Issues The health of the Australian Indigenous Population is a significant domain in Australia that represents a myriad of issues that affects the integrity of Indigenous Australians as the traditional owners of the land. On the contrary, these issues challenge the validity of Australia as a nation committed to closing the gap between health outcomes of Indigenous Australians in comparison to non Indigenous Australians. Kowal (2015) explores the correlation between early colonisation of the Europeans in the eighteenth century and its perpetual effects on Australia s Indigenous Population. Kowal (2015) suggested this correlation to be the organic barometer of continued colonial oppression (pg. 5) relative to the polarising definition that health for Indigenous Australians compared to non Indigenous Australians strays from the biomedical approach of health and places explicit emphasis on the social, emotional and cultural well being of an individual as well as their population as an entity. • 4. Analysis Of The Book Ordinary People By Judith Guest Lauren Lee Mrs, Stob Cycle of Life Per:1 Young people live life by the day. The process of self discovery begins as a teenager. For some, this could take years. For others, it could happen quickly. Sometimes hardship leads people towards self discovery. In the book Ordinary People, by Judith Guest, Conrad struggles with his identity; in the past, Conrad was never able to do anything without his brother s influence. Once his brother drowns, Conrad feels lost without him. In the beginning, middle and end of the book, Conrad goes through the stages of grief, and through this process, Conrad discovers his identity. The stages of grief are demonstrated in Conrad s relationships with his family and friends. Conrad has experienced depression and a suicide attempt in response to his brother s death. At the beginning of the book, Conrad is going through the first stage of grief, which is shock and denial. Conrad s father, Cal, worries about Conrad s mental health and gives him the name of a therapist. However, Conrad does not call him. Cal believes that Conrad, ought to stick with the plan (13) However, Conrad can t [because he] is swimming every night...[He doesn t] need to see anybody. [He] feels fine (13). Conrad is uncomfortable talking about the death, and seeing a therapist would require him to talk. Conrad is afraid to feel his emotions. • 5. The Roles Of Sophie Scholl There were about 67 million people living in Germany during the time of the Holocaust, however only a few had the bravery to speak out against the Nazis. Sophie Scholl was one of these courageous people. It is evident that Sophie Scholl is a great role model who impacted Germany because she wrote anti Nazi propaganda, fought for what she thought was right, and Germans today admire her. Sophie grew up during the Nazi takeover in Forchtenberg, Germany. Unlike most German families, hers had their own ideas about the Nazi party. Her father, who was a former mayor of several small towns in Germany, warned Sophie and her brothers about the new regime eventually abusing their power (Biography in Context). Her parents also encouraged their children to think for themselves and speak their minds (Student Resource Center). This parental support foreshadows what Sophie and her brother would become. The Scholl household was very supportive of their family members. When Sophie was twelve years old, she joined the League of German Girls. This was a pseudo Nazi organization (Pettinger). These organizations, called Hitler Youth Organizations, trained and educated German teenagers to become loyal followers of the Nazi Party (Zapotczny). Initially, Sophie excelled in the League of German Girls. She enjoyed the activities and was even promoted to a leadership position. However, Sophie eventually became skeptical about the organization she was in (Pettinger). As was typical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It determines a person s social standing and self definition. It is a powerful tool in defining one s identity and without it, an identity would not be the same thing. It affects one s view of reality and how the person may interpret the world. With a social location of a caucasion, upper middle class, woman from the Midwest I have much leverage in society, this leverage allows me a lot of leeway and influence. I grew up in a community very homogenious and it is hard to understand that people s experiences effect their understandings and alter our expectations. The idea of having a similar exterior equating to a similar background is detrimental and creates a lot of distance between social locations because it perpetuates stereotyping and essentialism. If you rely on looks and other identifying factors you will miss much of the person, as people are always more than just one thing they identify, or have been identified as. Misunderstanding creates distance because it leads people to retreat back into their own communities that they recognize and know and perpetuates stereotypes of identities. I think it is possible to diminish these distances by creating diaglogue between groups of people who identify differently than eachother. Much can be said for facilitating discussion amongst people of different backgrounds. It can aid in helping people gain a deeper understanding of one another and it allows a free exchange of emotions and ideas that in the end bridge the gap between communities. Jeopardizing this standard of ethics would have a broad based effect on the organizations overall effectiveness considering a platform of which to maintain a standard that all employees can act on behalf of. Compromising ethics and social value could present major public relation issues. A perfect example of this would be the Hershey Corporation. The concept that makes Panera successful is the fact that the company serves healthy and high quality food at an affordable price. Increasing prices to facilitate higher quality service in an effort to promote corporate aspirations will provide Panera with negative feedback from its customers (Wharton, 2010). The happiness that Panera customers experience with the products they are receiving now can be verified through Shaich s statement in the video that Panera has an incredibly high customer loyalty. • 13. Genetic Privacy And The Human Genome Project With bounding advances in the field of genomics, genetic privacy has sparked a controversy. In the 1980s, the Human Genome Project was established to sequence the entirety of the human genome. The first draft of this project was published in Nature in February, 2001, about 10 percent short of completion (National Institutes of Health [NIH], 2015). Originally, scientists had hypothesized that there was anywhere from 50,000 to 140,000 genes. However, after the release of the first draft and the later completion of the full sequence in April of 2003, it was revealed that there were actually about 20,500 genes (NIH, 2015). Since April 2003, the structure, organization, and function of these many genes has begun to be better understood (NIH, 2015). As genetics moved forward, there was hope of application in the fields of criminal justice and medicine. According to the International Homicide Investigators Association, 40,000 unidentified deaths occur in the United States annually (Willing 2006). That means every year, 40,000 people have families who remain unsure whether their missing loved ones are still alive. If the justice system had access to a national genetic database, this issue could be resolved; if all citizens could provide the justice system with samples of their DNA, criminal cases and missing persons cases could be solved at a more efficient rate. Furthermore, if doctors had access to every patient s genetic information, they could be informed about possible health ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The child is likely to have a fever and due to the spots being so itchy they will feel uncomfortable and irritated, mild painkillers can temporarily alleviate this however there I no found treatment to stop chickenpox. The incubation period for chickenpox is between one and three weeks; its most infectious time is between one and two days before the rash appears, but it continues to be infectious until all the blisters have crusted over. This means that if a child has got chickenpox they must be away from the nursery for 2 3 weeks so that other children are protected. General colds/coughs are normal in children and they will on average have around 8 a year, this is because they have an immunity to the common cold however as they get older they will get colds less as their immunity is growing stronger with each cold they get. Nero was surrounded by death and as emperor was known for his many of his atrocities and executions, including the execution of his mother. Instead of leaving their homes and families to fight they are fighting for their homes and families, and they show the resolution and sagacity which a personal purpose gives. Comparing Latency Periods And Amplitude Periods COMPARISON OF LATENCY PERIOD AND AMPLITUDE OF TWO SIMPLE SPINAL REFLEX PATHWAYS AND THE INFLUENCE OF THE JENDRASSIK MANEUVER ON EACH RESPONSE Jacob Simmons, Adam Middleton, Hamilton Moore, Max Smith, Trey Dickinson University of Mississippi, Dept. of Biology, University, MS. 38677 A simple spinal reflex is a reflex involuntary, graded, patterned response to a stimulus that is produced via a single synapse between sensory axons and motor neurons and confined to the spinal cord. In this experiment, two simple spinal reflexes the myotactic reflex and the H reflex were stimulated. We compared a) the latency period the amount of time between a stimulus and the effector response and the amplitude magnitude of an electrical signal of each reflex; then, b) the effect of the Jendrassik Maneuver (JM) upon the latency period and amplitude of each respective reflex. For the myotactic response, a mechanical stimulus, a sharp strike of the patellar tendon, was utilized to elicit a signal in stretch receptors; however, to trigger the H reflex, an electrical impulse was applied. These reflexes originate from an action potential produced by a sensory neuron when a stimulus is applied. Sensory neurons transmit the action potentials to an integrating center the spinal cord where a response is determined. Then, this response is taken back to the effector organ via motor neurons. The reflex occurs while the brain is becoming aware of the stimulus. Furthermore, the myotactic reflex is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many causes and effects of the decrease in the deer population. Some of the reasons that there is a decrease in the deer population is because of hunters, and also the amount of predators. The effects of this decrease in the deer populations has lead to a change in the South Carolina law. The new law now changes the number of deer that can be killed by the hunter each season. One example of this, is the French coal mines that the German army had destroyed by blowing them up, flooding them and filling them with waste material. All of these things, subject matter, themes, style, literary devices, and influences play into the way that Hughes writes his poetry and they can all be seen in the poem Dream Variations . That is why the poem is typical of Hughes writing. The poem is very typical of Hughes subject matter and themes. This is because he usually writes about racial subjects such as equality and the average life of an African American. Going so far as to say that most of his poems are racial in theme and treatment, derived from the life that he knows ( An Introduction to Langston Hughes. ). This poem does have the racial topic of equality for a couple of reasons. To begin with, the speaker talks about how people should see the world and the other people in it. Key word, should, because he then goes onto say, That is my dream! (Hughes l. 9). This is one reason why Dream Variations has a theme centered on how everyone wants to be treated equally. Because the speaker talks about how he wishes he was treated by the world. Along with the theme of equality the poem s subject is the life of an average African American. This is because he speaks of how he wants to dance Dance! Whirl! Whirl! Till the white day is done (Hughes ll. 12 13). Yet he cannot because he has to work, and he tries to make his work seem like dancing but he is still very tired at the end of the day. This shows the average life of an African American because they had to work very hard in the early ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. World Is Too Much With USarknotes What Becomes of Our Elegies? William Wordsworth s poem The World is too Much with Us begins with a pessimistic, yet chillingly accurate insight: The world is too much with us; late and soon, Getting and Spending, we lay waste our powers (1 2). Wordsworth asks whether progress was just a convenient excuse for the sacrifices mankind made during the Industrial Revolution. Alexander Pope, however, in his poem An Essay on Man, claims that although humans inevitably err, they still redeem themselves through trial and error, as indicated by contemporary examples. Therefore, under Pope s philosophy, The World is too Much with Us symbolizes the lesson learned through human reasoning on human errors that characterized the Industrial Revolution. ... The industrial empire extorted what it could from nature. According to World Resources Institute, the planet has lost 80 percent of its forest cover to deforestation, and the number continues to increase. With the accumulation of wealth, Mammonism and attendant moral problems ensued. In Korea, as individuals were price tagged based on their economic productivity, the society stigmatized the elderly for their apparent uselessness. As some chose suicide over social isolation, suicide rate of the elderly increased twofold over the period of ten year, indicating the loss of morality. Still, like Wordsworth, those critical of the status quo advocate social reform. For instance, to counter deforestation, the UN Forum on Forests, is actively promoting reforestation by hosting European Forestry Commissions and World Forestry Congresses. There also are signs of moral redemption. In Korea, approximately ten thousand jobs for the elderly are being produced every year to forestall their social exclusion. Such precedents are enough to prove that the inherent nature of humanity is to err and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Solomon Asch Conformity Study In 1951, Solomon Asch, a gestalt psychologist conducted an experiment regarding conformity. In this experiment, Asch tested how an individual can be influenced by a group of people and their views. Even though the test wasn t extremely crucial. The purpose was to measure how likely individuals in this society are to conform to the majority. Throughout the experiment, Asch saw how an individual responded based on the answers of the group. With this, he was able to demonstrate how likely we are to conform when there is group pressure. In this experiment, Asch conducted a lab to test the conformity of the participants. All fifty of the participants were males and students from a college in the United States. To be able to identify the percentage of individuals that could conform to the thoughts and ideas of the majority, Asch had to deceive the participants. The experiment involved seven confederates, most of them had agreed on what they were going to say before the experiment unlike the real participant. In each of the trials, both the participants and the confederates were shown cards one would be a single line, while the other was a card with a set of lines. The participants and the confederates were to pick a line that looked like the single line on the other card. However, the participant would usually be the second to last to answer. Asch ... • 47. The Confederation Act of 1867 Essay The Confederation act of 1867 without question has had a major influence on the status of contemporary Canada. There was a series of events which led to the confederation of Canada, some which are more significant than others. However, I believe that despite the significance of events such as the British encouragement of uniting its North American colonies, the central and key reason for confederation was the fear of potential American (Yankee) inhabitance (whether by persuasion or invasion) of the divided and vast British North American colonies, and the way that the Fathers of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John A. Macdonald, the prime minister of Canada at the time, had seen first hand the effect of divided colonies and the devastating impact that it could have on a nation. However, there was a serious and impending threat against the colonies of Canada from the northern United States, not only because of the British support of the southern states during the war, but also because of three specific events: The St. Albans Raid, the Trent Crisis, and the Alabama Affair. The St. Albans raid involved a group of confederate agents who robbed over two hundred thousand dollars (a significant amount of money in the 1800 s) from three banks in St. Albans, Vermont. These raiders fled to Canada, and although they were caught and the money was returned, they were not persecuted because they could not be trialed in Canada when the crime had been committed in the United States. President Lincoln prevented the northerners from pursuing the raiders into Canada to murder them, as this could have potentially resulted in a war, which would in turn benefit the southern states. The Trent affair once again raised tensions, when two Confederate diplomats were arrested in Boston while transferring a mail packet Trent to England. This greatly angered London, as they sent many troops as reinforcements to protect their colonies, eventually the diplomats were released and tensions eased once ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
