L’IMMAR relève une prééminence, toutefois, de la «région Est (49%), suivie du Centre (46%) et des régions Ouest et Sud (44% chacune)». 50% des urbains accèdent quotidiennement à Internet contre seulement 29% des ruraux, relève encore l’enquête. Par tranche d’âge, 77% des utilisateurs d’internet sont âgés entre 15-24 ans, 55% des 25-34 ans, 32% des 35-44 ans, 21% des 45-54 ans et 17% des 55 ans. Avec plus de 9,7 millions de visites par jour, le réseau Facebook reste le plus fréquenté en Algérie, sur quatre sites Internet, 3 internationaux et 1 Algérien. Ces derniers sont en fait Youtube visité par «3,7 millions d’Algériens de 15 ans et plus», Google et Instagram avec «500 000 visiteurs» et finalement le site algérien Ouedkniss, spécialisé dans la vente sur Internet, qui comptabilise «300 000 visites» quotidiennes. Les autres réseaux sociaux (Twitter et Linkedin) se taillent la part du lion en termes de fréquentation en Algérie avec «82% du nombre d’utilisateurs». La fréquentation des sites de divertissement (jeux, musique, radio, films, vidéos, télévision…) représente «21% des utilisateurs d’internet». Les plateformes de communication par vidéoconférence comme Skype, Viber et WhatsApp ne représentent quant à elles que 11%.
