The Effects Of Overpopulation
Introduction:
In this essay I will be investigating how a world where people are starving, will be affected by an
increasing population. Overpopulation can be defined to fill with an excessive number of people,
straining available resources and facilities. By 2050, the world will be apart of nine billion people.
Today at least one billion people are starving or are chronically malnourished. The basic definition of
being chronically malnourished is that a person will fail to grow to their full potential. For humans,
food is an activity of our daily life, and not a lot of people have it. I believe the topic food is an issue
that we need to take into consideration.
In order to present this, I will firstly consider the food waste and food consumption of Hong Kong. I

By providing these children with the basics of getting a job, it will help them get a better
understanding of how important it is to get one, and to prepare themselves to be independent in the
real world.
In comparison with hunger, there are numerous solutions to overpopulation. One of the main solutions
to overpopulation is, better education like the hunger crisis. If we educate people and help them
understand that the need to have one or two children at the most is right, then hopefully
overpopulation will get better.
In addition, studies have shown that when Women have more job opportunities, they tend to chose
having smaller families, thus investing more in each child rather than more, and this will help break
the poverty cycle.
Secondly, we can enforce family planning. As the population is increasing at a fast pace, trying to
raise awareness about this issue with families, and giving them an idea about the effects population
has on the world, can help families think about their future

The Main Features Of Egyptian And Mesopotamian Civilizations
What advantages does an agriculturally based society have over a hunter/gatherer society? There are
several advantages that an agriculturally based society has over a hunter/gatherer society. An
agriculturally based society could have more people in less land because they are creating food from
the land, rather than scavenging off an area. In addition, they could build villages with larger and
permanent houses. They could also afford to build permanent structures like wells. With agriculture, it
was also shown that there was a great increase in population. More people working and producing an
excess of food allowed for others to pursue other interests and specializations such as science and
metalworking. Overall, agriculturally based societies made it easier to form larger and more advanced
societies. Compare the main features of Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations. What did the two
civilizations have in common as early civilizations? What were their main differences in values and
organization? To compare Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilizations, one can look at their
organization, academic achievements, and economic styles. In terms of organization, there were many
similarities. Both were agriculturally based. In both societies, the leader held divine status. However,
differences arise when comparing their academics. Both societies developed mostly equal science and
elaborate art. However, Mesopotamia developed a more complex writing system and Egypt

Essay about Husband Abuse is Not Receiving Enough Attention
Although, husband abuse is common, it does not receive the attention it deserves. Subsequently, it is
not perceived as serious let alone problematic in our society. In many cases, husband abuse is not
taken seriously due to the higher rates and awareness of abused wives. While there are many resilient
organizations in support of battered women, there is scarcely any funding or resources to assist
battered husbands. Many that have worked with abused wives, both volunteers and professionals have
come across a number of battered husbands who have pled for assistance. Considering the fact that
some men were able to seek help with claims of having no other place to go, many residences were
hesitant as well as incapable of helping them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Steinmetz, 500) From the earlier stages of childhood, while all children are taught to keep their hands
to themselves, it mostly applied to boys. Perhaps this could have been because of the assumption that
boys in general could do more damage than girls. As a result, some men may feel pressured to accept
this universal image of what a real man should be like. This portrayal is displayed in many different
forms by society whether people notice it or not. With that being said, most battered husbands along
with the rest of society have bought into the subconscious images of men always being domineering.
Suzanne Steinmetz supports this notion by stating that ... the contention that women are socialized for
greater impulse controls appears to have little support. (Steinmetz, 504) In addition to the pressure
some battered husbands experience to conduct themselves a certain way, battered husbands may have
to take on the extra trauma of humiliation.(Steinmetz, 501) Thus, the fear of feeling powerless and
belittled prevents many victims of husband abuse from being open about their experiences.
Although spousal violence towards men is not as predominant as it is towards women, many accept to
be true that husband abuse does not really exist. While some are blinded by ignorance others are
simply just unaware of it. This is partly due to the lack of research accessible for others. On the
subject of spousal violence, examination

Essay on Cache Level 3 Unit 1 Assignment
Unit 1 An introduction to working with children
There are three different types of settings which provide care and education for children in my area.
One of them is called the statutory sector, this is a service that has to be available by law. Legislations
have been passed which requires either the government or local authorities to provide them. This
service gets payed for by people paying taxes so if we didn t pay our taxes then these services would
no longer be funded. An example of a statutory setting would be Richardson Dees primary school, this
is because they are funded by the government. Children start from nursery all the way up to year 6
before they have to leave. This school provides support for children and their families ... Show more

Some children also get their tea at the nursery if they are not getting picked up till later, for their tea
they normally just have a little snack like beans and toast. The professionals in the setting have to keep
a sheet for each child with information on to give to their parents at time of pick up, it has information
on like what they had for breakfast, dinner, tea, nappies changes, any accidents ect. They also have
files for each child and keep information and pictures of different activities they do while they are at
the nursery. The practitioners have to follow an instruction sheet every time they write in the file.
The main legislation in our county that supports the rights of children is Children Act 1989. According
to Penny Tassoni, this act is a result of the UK government adopting the United Nations Convention
on the rights of the child, new legislation was required. The 1989 Children Act also made it clear that
children s and young people s views had to be taken into consideration when decisions about their
future were being made. The key elements to this legislation are: The welfare of the child is the
paramount consideration. Wherever possible children should be brought up and cared for within there
own family. Parents with children in need should be helped to bring up their

In The Stag Hughes seems to comment on man s relationships with nature With reference to The Stag
and one other poem in the section discuss the poet s treatment of conflict between man and nature.
The Stag was written by a poet named Ted Hughes and is similar to the poem Roe Deer in many
respects because they feature many similar ideas. The poem is about the distant relationship between
humans and nature, in this case it is a Stag the represents the natural side and its actions compared to
the humans and their actions. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ted Hughes expresses part of his feeling as he says pulled aside the camouflage of their terrible planet
this tells us that he sympathises with the stag and is disgusted at our behaviour. It is also interesting
that the animals who have been brought into are world have also been turned barbaric, such as the
hounds which have been taught to hunt the stag for no reason as it does not need to kill it for survival
reasons it is just doing it through command of the hunters.
The poem also portrays the Stags innocence and helplessness by using phrases such as his limbs all
cried different directions to his lungs, which only wanted to rest and doubled back weeping As I said
before Roe Deer written by the same poet features a similar
encounter between human and wildlife. It shows the lack of communication between nature and us.
They happened into my dimension backs up the different world theory that Ted Hughes has and in The
Stag there is a constant contrast between nature and us. The poem is about a person having an
encounter with a Roe Deer but because of us driving nature away it emphasis on how magical it is to
see a wild animal. Ted Hughes uses words in this poem such as secret deerhood and hesitated as a way
to describe how the deer have become secret to keep away from humans and hesitated shows us how
scared the wildlife is of us and our technology. Throughout

Subject: Analysis of Company s Current Situation
Dear Paul,
After our meeting and analyzing the facts and figures available thoroughly, I came across the
following short term as well as long term issues:
1. Short term issues:
1.1. Requirement to increase the transfer price of carburetors to $ 500
1.2. Impacts of Carburetor Production discontinuance on Engine Division(ED)
2. Long term issues:
2.1. Performance and Organization structure of Division Profit centers or cost center

2.4. ED Capacity constraints

Therefore, each division should be autonomous in its decision making. This, however, is not the case
with our company. As a matter of fact, the corporate office is influencing and forcing divisions to
make the buy and sell decisions from each other at the instructed price of 1.25 times of full production
costs. To be a true profit center, the divisions should have the authority to determine and negotiate
prices of their products either based on market or through internal resources to ensure profitability. In
addition, to be able to ensure operational excellence, managing the costs such as production cost,
administrative and selling overheads, should be a priority.
The intervention from the corporate office is rather a de motivating factor for ED when the division is
not allowed to sell at the market price and it cannot sell disregarding the internal clients in the market
to be profitable. On the other hand SD was taking the benefit of this low transfer price from ED and a
high transfer out price to ID, thus reporting a ROI of 15%. When analyzing based on the market
prices, we noted that SD is in fact not contributing to the corporate profitability. That is another
shortcoming that the decisions of both divisions are affected; one is considering dumping a product
having high contribution margins, while the other is

Impacts of Tourism in Vancouver Essay
Tourism is an endeavour sought by an individual or a party of individuals, which leads to a movement
from one place to another with the idealism of a specific task, to visit a place or several places with the
primary purpose of achieving entertainment and increasing knowledge of countries, cultures, and their
history. The expression largest industry in the world is universally used with mention to tourism,
ensuring its recognition as the largest generator of wealth (over 11.7% of the global gross domestic
product) and employment (7% of the world s jobs); this shows that tourism is indeed an important
industry that depends on culture and legacy.(Budeanu, 2002) Vancouver is feasibly one of the most
prevalent tourist destinations in Canada ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Vancouver the impacts of tourism is shown through cultural issues related to economic growth and
through the analysis of social issues. It is how the city of Vancouver copes with their mistakes and
strives for improvement that the world is able to understand the true importance that tourism can have
on any destinations. Gilbert Keith Chesterton a British journalist, novelist and poet once said, The
traveler sees what he sees, the tourist see what he has come to see , by saying this it is enforced that
tourists come to Vancouver in order to take in the sights of nature that are around every corner and to
delve into the many attractions that Vancouver has established with the sole purpose of attracting
vacationers. With the appeal of vacationers there is an escalation in occupation spots and which will
lead to a lower unemployment rate (Figure 1), although this is a positive aspect of increasing tourist
population the negative effects are bountiful.
The use of natural resources to attract tourists, if successful, leads to the obligation of an infrastructure
upon nature . Over time, it is the manmade structures that maintain the desirability of the tourist resort,
not the natural features that prompted the original.(Ryan, 1991) Thus by focusing too much on
attracting tourists

Transcontinental Telegraph
The Telegraph The idea behind the telegraph was to send electric signals across wires. This originated
in the early 1700s and France was the first country to have a rough system by 1798. Eventually
following was a system which used Morse code. Professor Samuel Morse had successfully secured
funding and in 1843 a telegraph system was produced from Washington D.C. to Baltimore. The
success of the system was seen and by 1861 the first transcontinental telegraph line was built. The
telegraph was a very simple 3 part machine. It had a battery, electromagnet, and a key to connect and
disconnect the two parts. Every time the key was tapped, an electrical pulse will go through the wire

crime as criminals found using distance increasingly more difficult. Lastly it helped integrate women
into the world of work as operators and supervisors. This shows how the telegraph was a very
important invention for communication worldwide during the Industrial

What Did Dennings Really Do To Regan Analysis
c) What did Dennings really do to Regan? One of the most appealing theory, about the little clues that
are scattered throughout the novel and the movie that let us wonder if there is much more behind what
we see on the foreground, is the question of Burke Dennings murder. The film director s death is
indeed curious. The viewer or the reader does not witness his death, but is merely told about it, at first
no one knows who did it or how it happened. But we slowly learn, through the policeman, that
Dennings had his head twisted around with incredible strength and thrown out of Regan s window
only to land on a set of stairs. Later on, as the plot develops and unravels, in the novel, Regan s
mother, Chris, tells Father Karras that her daughter admitted to killing the man. In the movie,
however, the possibility of Regan being the murderer is never explicitly mentioned. But one question
remains however in the movie, what was Burke Dennings doing in Regan s room when he was
murdered? This question still stands in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is perceived both by the viewers and the readers as one of the first signs of Regan s possession,
but could also have another meaning. Indeed, when Regan threatens one of the guests of her mother,
she says You re going to die up there , threatening the astronaut, this is explained in the novel, since
Regan is clearly described as Staring fixedly at the astronaut. But the movie is not as precise on the
matter, and one can wonder if this threat was not directed at Burke Dennings instead. Indeed, she does
not seem to be looking at anyone in particular in the movie, too transfixed to focus on anything or
anyone. And after all, Dennings is the one who ends up dying up there , since Regan s bedroom is on
the second floor of the house, and there is no further indication concerning the astronaut s

Federal Tax Policies For The United States
Despite the revisions on the Amendment throughout the following decades, and on into the twentieth
century, the in come tax today is as reasonably fair to the public as the taxations have ever been, and
probably ever will be. The Primary concern here is that today, federal income tax accounts for
somewhat half of the federal revenue. With tax reform, the government never sought a way out of debt
for their homeland, it was, and always will be a way to claim money from the human resources it
ultimately requires to participate in war, then takes the majority of that money and funds war. The US
tax policies will always incorporate enough revenue to stay at war, even if the well being of the US is
not in direct threat of any entities either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Republican parties seem to favor lower tax rates with less movement of the rates of taxation
across the tax bracket. The Democratic parties are leaning more towards raising taxes on those in
higher tax brackets on the basis that the government should obtain more revenue from those who can
afford it more easily. However, as the Amendment is written, maybe the 16th Amendment wouldn t be
fare to those households with higher income being taxed at a heavier rate than those of lower income
households. The 16th Amendment is written to contain such elements to ensure it being constitutional,
however these same elements could do just the opposite. In regards to the abilities of the 16th
Amendment, Erik Jenson shows that is possible, A simple example makes the point: suppose states A
and B have equal populations, but state A s citizens have double the income of those in state B. With
apportionment, the total collected from the two states would have to be equal. On average, the citizens
of state B would have to pay tax at double the rates applicable to citizens in state A . (Jenson,
109:799(2014)) This would be the part where we show thanks that the government doesn t weigh
heavier taxes on those who of higher income homes because the pendulum swings both ways. The
New Deal of the 1930 s may also be constitutional; as well at it may also be apportioned. With the
Presidents passed being concerned with the freedom and equality of all the inhabitants of

Comprehensive Sex Education Research
In 2013, a total of 273,105 babies were born to women aged 15 19 years. (CDC). As these numbers
are shocking to many Americans, schools still have not taken the initiative to teach efficient sex
education. Although some teenagers are receiving sex education, most are not being taught it in a
successful way. Sex education can be explained in two different procedures: comprehensive or
abstinence only. The difference between the two is that comprehensive sex education teaches
abstinence as a secondary choice, and teens that decide not to wait should be informed on how to use
birth control when participating in sexual activity. Comprehensive sex education is a method that

Totalitarianism In Dystopian Literature
Dystopian Literature The Dystopian novel is created by the illusion of a perfect political and social
structure in a community. Dystopian literature exposes the negative results of the poor decision
making of society. Unlike a Utopia, that is an ideal world, a dystopia is the contrary: a world in which
everything is unpleasant, typically a totalitarian or enviromentally degraded one. The government is
usually a controlling one and it tries to maintain a perfect society by using technological and moral
control. These novels often feature different kinds of repressive social control systems. The political
structure of a community is emphasized in a dystopian novel. The government is usually authoritarian
or totalitarian, and it controlls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this literature the society itself is tipically the antagonist, because society is the one against the aims
and desires of the protagonist. The government enacts this oppression then resulting in the loss of civil
liberties like controlling a person s sexual or reproductive freedom. A novel called Among the Hidden
is about a dystopian world in which you can t have more than two children as a family. The family in
the novel have three children and the novel revolts around the life of the third child that lives hidden in
the basement so the population police won t find him and kill him with his family. To a person that
does not care about having children or is fine with having just one, he does not consider this world a
dystopian world, as it is called. Someone who would like to have more than two children considers
this world a dystopian one. The dystopian novel is determined as one depending on one s point of
view. The societies can be depicted as utopias when they are probably dystopias. In a dystopia, society
gives up something for the benefit of another thing that blinds society of the loss of what they gave up,
but after sometime they will notice the loss is affecting them and that s when they figure out they are
living in a dystopia. The idea that you could be living in a dystopia and not even know it is what

Persuasive Essay On Bee Bees
Imagine you walk into your local bistro to order your favorite tea with honey and you were told there
is no honey available. How would you feel? Would you want to become a beekeeper or have a bee
garden? This is why ordinary people should take action to make sure that honey bees do not become
extinct. More people need to care about this problem, and take action to prevent it from ever
happening. By putting these plans into action we can keep the bee population growing and ensuring
the local economy has a supply of honey. Ordinary people should become beekeepers or create bee
gardens to save the bees and the local economy.
With people doing this it will help the economy immensely. Bees are an important source of our daily
lives. The bees, pollinate many plants if it vanishes so will a huge portion of flowers and crops. This
will have a major impact on the economy as there will not be as many flowers or food around.
Restaurants benefit by being able to purchase local honey for dishes and cocktails. If honey bees
become scarce, restaurants may have to close. The restaurants would also have to get rid of the drinks
and entrees which include honey. If honey becomes scarce and restaurants close down, it would have a
major impact on the economy. Peter Spencer, who works at the Warwickshire Beekeepers Association
discusses more about the bee population and how to prevent it in the following paragraph.
Individuals do not have to do much to keep the bee population growing. Spencer says, to attract bees
we do not have to have a garden with many flowers, but it must be planted with certain flowers.
People can construct a garden in any way imaginable, it just has to have certain flowers that attract
bees. The population of honey bees will increase and the amount of honey will too. Our past President
has also joined to help bees from becoming extinct. Since 2009, the White House has maintained a
hive of 70,000 bees that produce honey for the presidential kitchen and pollinate the vegetables in
First Lady Michelle Obama s kitchen garden. As a result of the President doing this, it will influence
many other citizens to do the same considering the President is a major figure in the economy. There
will be global

Resting Membrane Potential Essay
The first step of four is called the resting membrane potential, the resting membrane potential is also
known as polarized. At this stage no ions move through the voltage gated channels, both sodium and
potassium gates are shut. A neuron (which is a specialized cell transmitting nerve impulses) is resting.
At resting state, the membrane potential of a neuron is roughly 70mV (millivolts), so the cytoplasmic
side (which is the inside) is negatively charged parallel to the outside. All gated Na+ and K+ channels
are closed at this stage. A Na+ channel each has two gates, 1 being an activation gate which is closed
at rest but swings open when depolarization occurs, the second being and inactivation gate that ceases
the channel once swung open. Although for Na+ to enter both gates ... Show more content on

This is where the Na+ channels are inactivating, this allows the K+ gates to swing open. Due to their
being a lot more Na+ ions on the outside and the inside the sodium dashes into the neuron first,
sodium is a positive charge, so during depolarization the neurons become a lot more positive. As time
passes the Na+ channels inactivates allowing the K+ channels to swing open the K+ channels take
more time to open, but once they fully have unfortunately, the internal negativity resting membrane is
restored to 70mV (Marieb ; Hoehn;, 2010).
The fourth and final step is called Hyperpolarization. This is a dramatic change in the cells membrane
potential which makes it more negative than the resting membrane potential. It is the complete
opposite of depolarization. Hyperpolarization is also considered as a undershoot, due to it dropping
below step 1 (resting membrane potential) during the hyperpolarization stage a small amount of K+
channels remain open while the Na+ channels reset, the Na+ channels reset to their original position
by changing their shape to further reopen their inactivation gates by closing the activation gates

Henry Clay, known as The Great Emancipator and a tough political opponent versus Andrew Jackson
in the 1832 election, made his opinion on Native American removal known in 1829 during his State of

the first modern politician who had carefully create an image for himself , which boosted his
popularity in office, even against a famous opponent, such as Jackson. To convey his audience, he
uses literary devices, such as logos, by comparing the Indians as a lower form of life. Despite his
powerful position, he lost the electoral college s presidential vote by a large margin, 219 49 (Courier).
In Clay s speech On Native Americans, where he addresses his plans of Indian removal west of the

is a kid named Kevin who has Morquio syndrome. Kevin meets a kid his age named Max, who is the
complete opposite of Kevin. Max is big for his age, while Kevin is very small. Kevin is also super
smart. When the two of them are together they are Freak the Mighty. Kevin and Max are able to
accomplish much more together than they can separately. One example of when Freak and Max
worked together to get things done that they could not have done alone is when Blade was trying to
attack them. Freak was on Max s shoulders directing where he needed to go. Go! Go! And I run over

Constantine s Conversion To Christianity
The Conversion of Constantine
During the period of the 3rd Century (250 538) the Church faced many challenges. These challenges
helped make the Church what it is today. One of the events that the Church faced was Constantine s
birth. He was born around 274 and 288. Constantine became the Emperor of Rome in 306. He was
known for being the first Roman Emperor to convert to Christianity. Constantine also established the
city of Constantinople. He is also known as Constantine the great, Constantine I and Saint
Constantine. He gave a great deal of money to those people in need. He even gave money to non
Christians, who had no claim on him. He provided money, food and clothes to those who had nothing.
He was generous to everyone.

Churches in today s society help local charities meaning Constantine s effort has helped make our
world what it is today. In today s society we have a local charity called Need help playing your bills .
This local charity is run by numerous churches. Need help paying your bills helps anyone regardless
of their religion, race, gender or age. This is something Constantine did. He helped others no matter
what the circumstance was. This shows what a true Emperor was and how well he followed in Jesus
footsteps. In the many years Constantine was alive he did many things with the church. Constantine
helped assemble and took part in the very first meeting of the Christian Churches. The Council of
Nicaea which was held in 325 in what we know today as Iznik, Turkey. He wished to help church
leaders find common ground on some contentious aspects of Christian doctrine. The Christian belief
championed by Arius, a priest from Alexandria, Egypt, held that Jesus, through the Son of God, was
inferior to God the Father.During Constantine years of being alive he tried to define what a Christian
believed to others and tried to pursued other to convert to Christianity. In Constantinople, During 337

Vibrio Cholera Essay
Vibrio cholerae, the Human Immune System, and Vaccines
Cholera remains a drastically severe disease, killing hundreds of people each outbreak. When
ingested, it attaches to the mucosal lining of the intestines and disrupts the normal flow of ions so that
there is more sodium, chloride, and water in the intestinal lumen than normal and results in massive
diarrhea. Cholera has made a global impact and been endemic in almost all parts of the world. Cholera
control strongly emphasizes sanitation, clean drinking water, isolation, and careful food preparation.
Two ways our body works against cholera as a self limiting disease are sloughing cells and the
secretory immunoglobulin (sIgA) antibody produced by mucus throughout our body. There are ...

Although the mucosa itself does not appear to be damaged by CT, the net flow of Na+ into tissue is
decreased and the net flow of Cl and water out of tissue is increased so as a result, there is more Na+,
Cl , and water in the lumen than there should be. This leads to massive diarrhea and great electrolyte
imbalance. A patient with severe cholera can lose up to 20L of water a day (Salyers A., Abigail, 141).
At times, diarrhea becomes so dilute it is almost clear, containing flecks of mucus that it is called rice
water stool because of its watery consistency (Salyers A., Abigail, 142). This rapid rate of water loss
and dehydration is tremendously fatal. At its most extreme, symptoms emerge in 3 4 hours, previously
healthy patients can die within 6 8 hours of infection, and more commonly go into shock 6 12 hours
after infection and die within 18 hours (Weekly Epidemiological Record, 6). Cholera s level of
severity is very life threatening and remains a big problem even in our world today. Almost 100
countries worldwide are still affected by cholera and it s virtually impossible to completely prevent an
outbreak. If left alone, this rapidly infectious disease can cause many fatalities. However, improved
methods for surveillance, diagnosis, and treatment, paired with higher standards of sanitation and

Considering its popularity among students, Facebook high school version was launched in September,
2005. Its members are multiplying greatly with each day passing i.e. Facebook had 100million users
on Aug. 26, 2008 while this number increased to 500million on Jul. 21, 2010 and growth rate was
153% during the last year (blog.Facebook.com). Social networking sites brought many positive
implications to human life. The idea of social globe or global village has been translated into reality
through these sites connecting millions of people from all around the world. Simultaneous
communication of many people even at distant places promotes the creation of social capital fetching
personal, professional and social benefits not only to the users of these sites but to the society as a
whole. But every technological revolution brings some dilemmas and darker issues along as well.
Likewise, these increasing links and networks online are setting back the real values of life especially
students are accepting some adverse impacts from using these sites as they form the major chunk of
SNSs users. An ever increasing growth rate of SNSs not only calls for the parental and teacher
monitoring of student users but also attracting the focus of academicians and researchers towards this
phenomenon. In September, 2005, out of total adult internet users (18 29 years) 16% were those who
were using any social networking site and this percentage increased to 86% on

This is one such illustration of checking environment utilizing modern day tools and programs
During an UN Commission meeting in 1983, Norwegian Prime Minister Brundtland came to express a
stand amongst the most thorough meanings of sustainability: helping the present without trading off
the capability of future eras to help s (WCED Report, 1987).
From that point on wards, subjects identified with sustainability multiplied and passed past the macro
level by likewise embracing mezzo and micro levels as unit of investigation. To express this all this in
detail, a macro point of view reflects a group level perspective, while a mezzo point of view embraces
organisation and focuses on organization level focus plan, and a micro viewpoint analyses an
individual s level of study and research on a certain topic. In this structure, the issue ends up being an
open deliberation of giving sustainability to the group, to the organisations ( business endeavour being
one of them) and to the people .
Analysis on Monitoring System:
Monitoring system plays a huge role in sustainability attainment. Indicators play a significant part in
monitoring frameworks and are extremely significant and could help us track the outcomes of arriving
at success levels in sustainability. Indicators for instance, ISO 14000 could help us get recognised by
individuals as an ethical firm. The ISO accreditation will help them maintain the benchmark. The

to prevent evil spirits from entering it.

Fire Burial Bali
Fire consumes all. Photo by Barnacle Bikers
On the mostly Hindu Isle of Bali, fire is the vehicle to the next life. The body or Mayat is bathed and
laid out on a table where food offerings are laid beside it for the journey.
Lanterns line the path to the persons hut to let people know he or she has passed, and act as a reminder
of their life so they are not forgotten.
It is then interred in a mass grave with others from the same village who have passed on until it is
deemed there are a sufficient number of bodies to hold a cremation.
The bodies are unearthed, cleaned, and stacked on an elaborate float, gloriously decorated by the
entire village and adorned with flowers. The float is paraded through the village to the central square
where it is consumed by flames, and marks the beginning of a massive feast to honor and remember
the dead.

challenges we face. Whether they are good or bad or if they are from someone in our lives or if it is a
conflict we have to face, these things will be what challenge us to push us harder for our dreams to
come true. Having dreams are a good thing with Briony, hers where to be a famous writer, and this all
started with the play she wanted to through for her brother Leon. Also conflict plays a pretty big roll

But soon as Lola got married to Paul Marshall it final clicked into Briony that Robbie never actually

wrong person to jail she couldn t look at Lola the same because she never opened her mouth to tell her
the actual person was who raped her and that was mostly an obstacle that Briony had to face. The one
thing that impacted the message to Briony about her conflict between everyone was mostly Cecilia
and Robbie. This wouldn t have happened if Briony never opened up the sexual letter Robbie had
written to Cecilia but gave her the wrong letter and also gave it to Briony to give it to her. Even
though Briony still gave her sister the letter, that night she meet up with Robbie to discuses the letter

that Robbie was raping her. During that same night Briony found Lola in the forest being raped. When
they went back to the house everyone asked who did this to her and the person she thought that did
was Robbie just because earlier she thought that he was doing the same this to Cecilia. Ever since that
day Cecilia has never for gave her for sending her Boyfriend to jail and also he had to serve in the war.

Curley s Wife Quotes
When reading the novel Of Mice and Men, you may notice that Curley s wife is never given a name. I
think that she doesn t have a name because she is a woman in the 1930s, she doesn t really belong on
the ranch, and she is considered a nobody. Throughout the book, we see examples of how she is
mistreated.
This book takes place around the 1930s, when women didn t have as many rights as they do now.
They were expected to stay in the house and take care of the family. Since Curley and the boss are the
only real family Curley s wife has, she is left a lot of time to herself. Back then, women were often put
down and seen as unimportant. Whenever Curley s wife visits the bunkhouse, the ranch workers are
quick to tell her to leave. At the beginning, Steinbeck portrays her as, what the guys call, a tart. Candy
said, I seen her give Slim the eye...An I seen her give Carlson the eye (Steinbeck 28). This makes the
ranch workers wary of talking to her because of their fear of what Curley would do. Her appearance
does not help the misconceptions the ranch workers have about her. While talking about her, John
Steinbeck writes, She had full, rouged lips and wide spaced eyes, heavily made up. Her fingernails
were red. Her hair hung in little rolled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She doesn t get to voice her opinion on anything, and she is very lonely. When talking to Lennie in the
barn, she says why can t I talk to you? I never get to talk to nobody. I get awful lonely (Steinbeck 86).
This reminds us that she is forced to be alone until Curley arrives. She gets called names by the guys
when she is not around, and they liked it when she wasn t. When the ranch workers found out she was
dead, Curley was the only person who really wanted revenge, and from the beginning he was
primarily out to get Lennie. Curley s wife has no real sense of purpose. Nobody wants her around, and

Analysis Of Mandeville s Travels And Bisclavret
Monsters have always fascinated readers because of their mysterious origins and motives. These
strange and unknown characteristics lead us to ask questions and really think about how humans
justify their actions and consider what is and isn t moral. Monsters also help us come to a conclusion
about who we are as people in a functioning society. In the works of Mandeville s Travels and
Bisclavret, the authors help us discover who we are to unify us as a community, give us a sense of
security, and identifying monstrous qualities amongst people and creatures. In Mandeville s Travels,
John Mandeville tells us his stories of the discovery of the many monsters he finds across the world.
Through his stories we discover who we are as people through his monsters. His monsters tell us what
we are not, and by doing this he tells us who we are, educated, civilized, kind, and caring people. In
Mandeville s first encounter with a monster, the Melk are described as incredibly cruel people who
take pleasure in murder and making other people suffer, There are wicked and cruel folk there too. For
they have no delight or pleasure in anything except slaughtering people to drink their blood. And the
man who can kill the greatest number of men is the most respected and worthiest among them.
(Mandeville, 134). Through this explanation we understand how bizarre of a ritual this is because no
one in their right mind would take such pleasure in taking someone s life. Not only does this describe

Sympathizing with Shylock in William Shakespeare s The...
Sympathizing with Shylock in William Shakespeare s The Merchant of Venice In the Merchant of
Venice, Shakespeare creates an atmosphere throughout the play, which causes the audience to
sympathize with Shylock. Shakespeare uses key events, and dialogue to influence the audience. At the
time Shakespeare wrote his plays, and they were performed, the contemporary audience would have
mainly consisted of Christians. Jews were often persecuted, as they were the minority. The Christian
audience would have been quite arrogant, and Shakespeare would have had to pander to this audience,
to make the play appeal to them. He did this through Shylock. In Act 3 Scene 3, Shylock tells of how
he is abused by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A modern audience would be multi racial and therefore they would feel the same level of emotion, but
it would be different, as only an extremely small minority of the modern audience would have
mistreated Jews so consequently, they would almost be able to feel Shylock s emotions, as they can
relate to them. He gives a very powerful performance. His speech is then concluded with further
evoking of sympathy, If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? stating that he
is not merely a religion, which he is seen as by the people who discriminate against him, he is a
human. This particular sentence has become very famous, and further evokes sympathy and shows
that Shylock is human with feelings and has a valid reason for wanting revenge. The play has two
plots; the flesh bond plot, and the marriage caskets plot. Bassanio wishes to offer marriage to Portia,
the Heiress of Belmont but cannot compete with her other suitors. Portia is the heiress to a great
fortune, but her father s will states that she can only marry the man who chooses the correct casket,
made of either Gold, Silver or lead. The potential husband must choose the casket containing her
portrait. In Belmont, after the Princes of Morocco and Aragon have both chosen the wrong

Irony In The Heir
Competition is the process of competing for a prize or advantage. Usually, marriage and competition
are complete opposites. But in this castle, everything about them are considered the same. The Heir
(Kiera Cass), is about a young girl named Eadlyn. She is forced to go through a Selection that she
does not want to do. This means that she will have 35 suitors ( young princes), at the castle who will
do anything to win over her heart, all to be the King and Queen of Illea. The Heir is a quality book in
most of the elements chosen. In The Heir, Kiera Cass uses characterization and irony to show a quality
plot and, resolution to develop a disappointing ending. Kiera Cass uses characterization to show a

(Verbal Irony) They want romance but, I m not prepared to behave like that publicly, at least not when
I haven t truly connected with someone. Still, I need to give them something (Eadlyn says to Kile)
(Cass 110). This quote display s that the, two kids (Kile and Eadlyn), have been friends forever and
the audience did not think that they would ever come together and show this affection to each other.
This shows a quality plot because, it makes the story. That means that this scene in The Heir is a huge
part in the rest of the book. (Verbal Irony) If it was, perhaps it s not what you thought it would be and
now, you re in a situation you don t particularly like (Cass 210). This quote displays that, Ean just
opened her up like a book. This shows a quality plot because, it s a part that no one expected. It makes
the reader want to read more. Irony is, the expression of one s meaning by using language (action or a
situation) that signifies the opposite. Kiera Cass uses irony to make the book more interesting by using
it in the most random places so the boring parts become some of the best parts. In The Heir, irony is
used to show a quality

The Impact Of Cuba On The Country Of The Rich Land And...
Environmental Cuba has taken many steps to protect the investment of the rich land and water
resources and the welcoming population, as they continue to offer an abundance of development
opportunities. Some environmental factors in the city of Caibarién include: lack of water supply, no
sewer system, no drainage for floods, and pollution. It s highly critical that tourists are well informed
and educated on foreign communities and how to interact in an environment in order to sustain and
preserve natural resources and ancestral sites. Daniel Whittle, senior director of the Cuba program at
the Environmental Defense Fund said that At the official level, environmental protection is still a high
priority, it s something [President Raúl] Castro and his deputies talk a lot about. (Williams, Casey.
Cuba Has An Ambitious Plan To Protect Its Environment From Tourists. The Huffington Post).
Tourists have also expressed needs and wants of a clean environment and tourism products that
involve heritage, history and culture. Businesses are now focusing on sustainable based services and
resources for those incoming tourists. Tourism products of today are being developed to match with
the environment both natural and constructed.
Better stated in this quote from Moss Cass, We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow
it from our children. () This quote speaks to the fact that society has a responsibility to preserve the
structure of the overall environment,

Why Attending School
I have not attended many different schools but I know that they all have more than one thing in
common, and these things need to be changed somehow, they are just not working. Whether you are
attending primary school, secondary school or college there are always issues with how we are taught,
what is being taught to us and how will it help us at the end of the day. I am sure there are many
reasons why we are taught the way we are and why we need to learn these things. The list is endless.
My entire school life I have come to discover patterns from different students including myself.
Attending school and learning is not boring or tiring. The schedule, the process and the reasoning
behind going to school is unfitting. First they tell us what time we have to be in class without even
considering the time of year and what season it is. It does not sound like much to worry about. But I
have realized that students tend to wake up late during the winter, they take longer getting out of the
bed and tend to eat and sleep more meaning they have less time to focus on homework no attending
classes. The early, cold and dark mornings during winter make it hard for students to leave their beds.
The issue is not waking up, the issue is getting out of the bed. Even though a student might know that
they will get into trouble for missing a lesson, they would rather deal with the teacher than go and face
the cold especially at 7h45 in the morning. What I am trying to say is, in the winter we

  • 2. The Effects Of Overpopulation Introduction: In this essay I will be investigating how a world where people are starving, will be affected by an increasing population. Overpopulation can be defined to fill with an excessive number of people, straining available resources and facilities. By 2050, the world will be apart of nine billion people. Today at least one billion people are starving or are chronically malnourished. The basic definition of being chronically malnourished is that a person will fail to grow to their full potential. For humans, food is an activity of our daily life, and not a lot of people have it. I believe the topic food is an issue that we need to take into consideration. In order to present this, I will firstly consider the food waste and food consumption of Hong Kong. I will also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By providing these children with the basics of getting a job, it will help them get a better understanding of how important it is to get one, and to prepare themselves to be independent in the real world. In comparison with hunger, there are numerous solutions to overpopulation. One of the main solutions to overpopulation is, better education like the hunger crisis. If we educate people and help them understand that the need to have one or two children at the most is right, then hopefully overpopulation will get better. In addition, studies have shown that when Women have more job opportunities, they tend to chose having smaller families, thus investing more in each child rather than more, and this will help break the poverty cycle. Secondly, we can enforce family planning. As the population is increasing at a fast pace, trying to raise awareness about this issue with families, and giving them an idea about the effects population has on the world, can help families think about their future ... • 3. The Main Features Of Egyptian And Mesopotamian Civilizations What advantages does an agriculturally based society have over a hunter/gatherer society? There are several advantages that an agriculturally based society has over a hunter/gatherer society. An agriculturally based society could have more people in less land because they are creating food from the land, rather than scavenging off an area. In addition, they could build villages with larger and permanent houses. They could also afford to build permanent structures like wells. With agriculture, it was also shown that there was a great increase in population. More people working and producing an excess of food allowed for others to pursue other interests and specializations such as science and metalworking. Overall, agriculturally based societies made it easier to form larger and more advanced societies. Compare the main features of Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations. What did the two civilizations have in common as early civilizations? What were their main differences in values and organization? To compare Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilizations, one can look at their organization, academic achievements, and economic styles. In terms of organization, there were many similarities. Both were agriculturally based. In both societies, the leader held divine status. However, differences arise when comparing their academics. Both societies developed mostly equal science and elaborate art. However, Mesopotamia developed a more complex writing system and Egypt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay about Husband Abuse is Not Receiving Enough Attention Although, husband abuse is common, it does not receive the attention it deserves. Subsequently, it is not perceived as serious let alone problematic in our society. In many cases, husband abuse is not taken seriously due to the higher rates and awareness of abused wives. While there are many resilient organizations in support of battered women, there is scarcely any funding or resources to assist battered husbands. Many that have worked with abused wives, both volunteers and professionals have come across a number of battered husbands who have pled for assistance. Considering the fact that some men were able to seek help with claims of having no other place to go, many residences were hesitant as well as incapable of helping them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Steinmetz, 500) From the earlier stages of childhood, while all children are taught to keep their hands to themselves, it mostly applied to boys. Perhaps this could have been because of the assumption that boys in general could do more damage than girls. As a result, some men may feel pressured to accept this universal image of what a real man should be like. This portrayal is displayed in many different forms by society whether people notice it or not. With that being said, most battered husbands along with the rest of society have bought into the subconscious images of men always being domineering. Suzanne Steinmetz supports this notion by stating that ... the contention that women are socialized for greater impulse controls appears to have little support. (Steinmetz, 504) In addition to the pressure some battered husbands experience to conduct themselves a certain way, battered husbands may have to take on the extra trauma of humiliation.(Steinmetz, 501) Thus, the fear of feeling powerless and belittled prevents many victims of husband abuse from being open about their experiences. Although spousal violence towards men is not as predominant as it is towards women, many accept to be true that husband abuse does not really exist. While some are blinded by ignorance others are simply just unaware of it. This is partly due to the lack of research accessible for others. On the subject of spousal violence, examination ... • 5. Essay on Cache Level 3 Unit 1 Assignment Unit 1 An introduction to working with children There are three different types of settings which provide care and education for children in my area. One of them is called the statutory sector, this is a service that has to be available by law. Legislations have been passed which requires either the government or local authorities to provide them. This service gets payed for by people paying taxes so if we didn t pay our taxes then these services would no longer be funded. An example of a statutory setting would be Richardson Dees primary school, this is because they are funded by the government. Some children also get their tea at the nursery if they are not getting picked up till later, for their tea they normally just have a little snack like beans and toast. The professionals in the setting have to keep a sheet for each child with information on to give to their parents at time of pick up, it has information on like what they had for breakfast, dinner, tea, nappies changes, any accidents ect. They also have files for each child and keep information and pictures of different activities they do while they are at the nursery. The practitioners have to follow an instruction sheet every time they write in the file. The main legislation in our county that supports the rights of children is Children Act 1989. According to Penny Tassoni, this act is a result of the UK government adopting the United Nations Convention on the rights of the child, new legislation was required. The 1989 Children Act also made it clear that children s and young people s views had to be taken into consideration when decisions about their future were being made. The key elements to this legislation are: The welfare of the child is the paramount consideration. Wherever possible children should be brought up and cared for within there own family. In The Stag Hughes seems to comment on man s relationships with nature With reference to The Stag and one other poem in the section discuss the poet s treatment of conflict between man and nature. The Stag was written by a poet named Ted Hughes and is similar to the poem Roe Deer in many respects because they feature many similar ideas. The poem is about the distant relationship between humans and nature, in this case it is a Stag the represents the natural side and its actions compared to the humans and their actions. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ted Hughes expresses part of his feeling as he says pulled aside the camouflage of their terrible planet this tells us that he sympathises with the stag and is disgusted at our behaviour. It is also interesting that the animals who have been brought into are world have also been turned barbaric, such as the hounds which have been taught to hunt the stag for no reason as it does not need to kill it for survival reasons it is just doing it through command of the hunters. The poem also portrays the Stags innocence and helplessness by using phrases such as his limbs all cried different directions to his lungs, which only wanted to rest and doubled back weeping As I said before Roe Deer written by the same poet features a similar encounter between human and wildlife. It shows the lack of communication between nature and us. They happened into my dimension backs up the different world theory that Ted Hughes has and in The Stag there is a constant contrast between nature and us. The poem is about a person having an encounter with a Roe Deer but because of us driving nature away it emphasis on how magical it is to see a wild animal. This, however, is not the case with our company. As a matter of fact, the corporate office is influencing and forcing divisions to make the buy and sell decisions from each other at the instructed price of 1.25 times of full production costs. To be a true profit center, the divisions should have the authority to determine and negotiate prices of their products either based on market or through internal resources to ensure profitability. In addition, to be able to ensure operational excellence, managing the costs such as production cost, administrative and selling overheads, should be a priority. The intervention from the corporate office is rather a de motivating factor for ED when the division is not allowed to sell at the market price and it cannot sell disregarding the internal clients in the market to be profitable. On the other hand SD was taking the benefit of this low transfer price from ED and a high transfer out price to ID, thus reporting a ROI of 15%. When analyzing based on the market prices, we noted that SD is in fact not contributing to the corporate profitability. That is another shortcoming that the decisions of both divisions are affected; one is considering dumping a product having high contribution margins, while the other is ... Impacts of Tourism in Vancouver Essay Tourism is an endeavour sought by an individual or a party of individuals, which leads to a movement from one place to another with the idealism of a specific task, to visit a place or several places with the primary purpose of achieving entertainment and increasing knowledge of countries, cultures, and their history. The expression largest industry in the world is universally used with mention to tourism, ensuring its recognition as the largest generator of wealth (over 11.7% of the global gross domestic product) and employment (7% of the world s jobs); this shows that tourism is indeed an important industry that depends on culture and legacy.(Budeanu, 2002) Vancouver is feasibly one of the most prevalent tourist destinations in Canada ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Vancouver the impacts of tourism is shown through cultural issues related to economic growth and through the analysis of social issues. It is how the city of Vancouver copes with their mistakes and strives for improvement that the world is able to understand the true importance that tourism can have on any destinations. Gilbert Keith Chesterton a British journalist, novelist and poet once said, The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist see what he has come to see , by saying this it is enforced that tourists come to Vancouver in order to take in the sights of nature that are around every corner and to delve into the many attractions that Vancouver has established with the sole purpose of attracting vacationers. With the appeal of vacationers there is an escalation in occupation spots and which will lead to a lower unemployment rate (Figure 1), although this is a positive aspect of increasing tourist population the negative effects are bountiful. The use of natural resources to attract tourists, if successful, leads to the obligation of an infrastructure upon nature . Over time, it is the manmade structures that maintain the desirability of the tourist resort, not the natural features that prompted the original.(Ryan, 1991) Thus by focusing too much on attracting tourists ... One of the most appealing theory, about the little clues that are scattered throughout the novel and the movie that let us wonder if there is much more behind what we see on the foreground, is the question of Burke Dennings murder. The film director s death is indeed curious. The viewer or the reader does not witness his death, but is merely told about it, at first no one knows who did it or how it happened. But we slowly learn, through the policeman, that Dennings had his head twisted around with incredible strength and thrown out of Regan s window only to land on a set of stairs. Later on, as the plot develops and unravels, in the novel, Regan s mother, Chris, tells Father Karras that her daughter admitted to killing the man. In the movie, however, the possibility of Regan being the murderer is never explicitly mentioned. But the movie is not as precise on the matter, and one can wonder if this threat was not directed at Burke Dennings instead. Indeed, she does not seem to be looking at anyone in particular in the movie, too transfixed to focus on anything or anyone. And after all, Dennings is the one who ends up dying up there , since Regan s bedroom is on the second floor of the house, and there is no further indication concerning the astronaut s ... Federal Tax Policies For The United States Despite the revisions on the Amendment throughout the following decades, and on into the twentieth century, the in come tax today is as reasonably fair to the public as the taxations have ever been, and probably ever will be. The Primary concern here is that today, federal income tax accounts for somewhat half of the federal revenue. With tax reform, the government never sought a way out of debt for their homeland, it was, and always will be a way to claim money from the human resources it ultimately requires to participate in war, then takes the majority of that money and funds war. The US tax policies will always incorporate enough revenue to stay at war, even if the well being of the US is not in direct threat of any entities either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Republican parties seem to favor lower tax rates with less movement of the rates of taxation across the tax bracket. The Democratic parties are leaning more towards raising taxes on those in higher tax brackets on the basis that the government should obtain more revenue from those who can afford it more easily. However, as the Amendment is written, maybe the 16th Amendment wouldn t be fare to those households with higher income being taxed at a heavier rate than those of lower income households. The 16th Amendment is written to contain such elements to ensure it being constitutional, however these same elements could do just the opposite. In regards to the abilities of the 16th Amendment, Erik Jenson shows that is possible, A simple example makes the point: suppose states A and B have equal populations, but state A s citizens have double the income of those in state B. With apportionment, the total collected from the two states would have to be equal. On average, the citizens of state B would have to pay tax at double the rates applicable to citizens in state A . (Jenson, 109:799(2014)) This would be the part where we show thanks that the government doesn t weigh heavier taxes on those who of higher income homes because the pendulum swings both ways. The New Deal of the 1930 s may also be constitutional; as well at it may also be apportioned. With the Presidents passed being concerned with the freedom and equality of all the inhabitants of ... Although some teenagers are receiving sex education, most are not being taught it in a successful way. Sex education can be explained in two different procedures: comprehensive or abstinence only. In fact, he was faced with rejection one thousand and eight times to be exact. Only restaurant number one thousand and nine finally accepted and was fully willing to listen to Sanders idea. A deal was made between the two partners in which it was agreed upon that for every piece of chicken the restaurant sold, Sanders would get one nickel and he would deliver a packet of his ready mixed spices to the restaurant so that his recipe would remain a secret. Dystopian literature exposes the negative results of the poor decision making of society. The government is usually a controlling one and it tries to maintain a perfect society by using technological and moral control. • 16. Persuasive Essay On Bee Bees Imagine you walk into your local bistro to order your favorite tea with honey and you were told there is no honey available. How would you feel? Would you want to become a beekeeper or have a bee garden? This is why ordinary people should take action to make sure that honey bees do not become extinct. More people need to care about this problem, and take action to prevent it from ever happening. By putting these plans into action we can keep the bee population growing and ensuring the local economy has a supply of honey. Ordinary people should become beekeepers or create bee gardens to save the bees and the local economy. With people doing this it will help the economy immensely. Bees are an important source of our daily lives. The bees, pollinate many plants if it vanishes so will a huge portion of flowers and crops. This will have a major impact on the economy as there will not be as many flowers or food around. Restaurants benefit by being able to purchase local honey for dishes and cocktails. If honey bees become scarce, restaurants may have to close. The restaurants would also have to get rid of the drinks and entrees which include honey. If honey becomes scarce and restaurants close down, it would have a major impact on the economy. Peter Spencer, who works at the Warwickshire Beekeepers Association discusses more about the bee population and how to prevent it in the following paragraph. Individuals do not have to do much to keep the bee population growing. Spencer says, to attract bees we do not have to have a garden with many flowers, but it must be planted with certain flowers. People can construct a garden in any way imaginable, it just has to have certain flowers that attract bees. The population of honey bees will increase and the amount of honey will too. Our past President has also joined to help bees from becoming extinct. Since 2009, the White House has maintained a hive of 70,000 bees that produce honey for the presidential kitchen and pollinate the vegetables in First Lady Michelle Obama s kitchen garden. As a result of the President doing this, it will influence many other citizens to do the same considering the President is a major figure in the economy. There will be global ... • 18. Resting Membrane Potential Essay The first step of four is called the resting membrane potential, the resting membrane potential is also known as polarized. At this stage no ions move through the voltage gated channels, both sodium and potassium gates are shut. A neuron (which is a specialized cell transmitting nerve impulses) is resting. At resting state, the membrane potential of a neuron is roughly 70mV (millivolts), so the cytoplasmic side (which is the inside) is negatively charged parallel to the outside. All gated Na+ and K+ channels are closed at this stage. A Na+ channel each has two gates, 1 being an activation gate which is closed at rest but swings open when depolarization occurs, the second being and inactivation gate that ceases the channel once swung open. Although for Na+ to enter both gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is where the Na+ channels are inactivating, this allows the K+ gates to swing open. As time passes the Na+ channels inactivates allowing the K+ channels to swing open the K+ channels take more time to open, but once they fully have unfortunately, the internal negativity resting membrane is restored to 70mV (Marieb ; Hoehn;, 2010). The fourth and final step is called Hyperpolarization. This is a dramatic change in the cells membrane potential which makes it more negative than the resting membrane potential. It is the complete opposite of depolarization. Hyperpolarization is also considered as a undershoot, due to it dropping below step 1 (resting membrane potential) during the hyperpolarization stage a small amount of K+ channels remain open while the Na+ channels reset, the Na+ channels reset to their original position by changing their shape to further reopen their inactivation gates by closing the activation gates (Marieb ; Hoehn;, ... When ingested, it attaches to the mucosal lining of the intestines and disrupts the normal flow of ions so that there is more sodium, chloride, and water in the intestinal lumen than normal and results in massive diarrhea. Cholera has made a global impact and been endemic in almost all parts of the world. Cholera control strongly emphasizes sanitation, clean drinking water, isolation, and careful food preparation. Although the mucosa itself does not appear to be damaged by CT, the net flow of Na+ into tissue is decreased and the net flow of Cl and water out of tissue is increased so as a result, there is more Na+, Cl , and water in the lumen than there should be. This leads to massive diarrhea and great electrolyte imbalance. A patient with severe cholera can lose up to 20L of water a day (Salyers A., Abigail, 141). At times, diarrhea becomes so dilute it is almost clear, containing flecks of mucus that it is called rice water stool because of its watery consistency (Salyers A., Abigail, 142).
