Why? Our goal is to enrich the pool of talent available to businesses
across the UK that rely on mathematical skills. We do this by
inspiring young girls to explore the myriad of career possibilities
that mathematics offers.
Our approach involves close collaboration with educators and
businesses to both support and champion role models who have
harnessed mathematics to thrive in their careers. These
volunteer role models engage with students through captivating
talks, showcasing the practical applications of maths tailored to
the UK context.
It works!
The evidence speaks volumes: research reveals that a single
encounter with a Maths4Girls role model yields significant benefits:
● An 19% increase in awareness of the potential of mathematics.
● A 21% boost in the desire to pursue math-related career paths.
● A 10% surge in confidence in one's mathematical abilities.

We use AI and ML to help our clients inspire youngpeople in their
community so their organisation can later recruit and manage
people who have the right skills for their business challenges.
We use AI & ML to enable young people to acquire and deepen these
skills through in-class role model provision, project-based work
experience, mentoring, masterclasses and short online courses.
In 2022, Skill shortfalls cost UK businesses £6.3 bn in lost

What does the research say?
A single M4G encounter boosts Girls’ perception of the importance of Maths by 19%
In answer to the question: “Do you think you are going to need Maths in the future?”
1 261 out of 339 respondents
Before
77% of girls believed that they were going to
need Maths in the future (compared to 100%
of boys)1
AFTER
92% of girls believed that they were going to need
Maths in the future (from mixed gender classes)
● The greatest percentage increase was at
Hemel Hempstead School where there was
a 25% increase in the % of girls who thought
they’d need Maths in the future after the
event compared to before.

What does the research say?
A single M4G encounter boosts Girls’ Desire to pursue Maths past GCSE by 21%
In answer to the question: “Are you planningto takeMaths after GCSE?”
AFTER
51 % of girls (from mixed gender classes) agreed.
○ The age category which had the greatest increase was
age 14 with a 23 percentage point increase (37% - 60%).
○ The greatest improvement was at Hollyfield School where
there was a 34 percentage point increase in the number
of girls wanting to pursue Maths after the event.
Before
42% of girls reported that they planned to take
Maths in the future compared to 72% of boys2

In answer to the question: “Do you think you will achieve your predicted grade?”
Before
72% of girls believed that they were going to achieve
their predicted grade.

4 3% increase in single-sex schools
AFTER
79% of girls from mixed gender classes agreed 4
● The age category that had the greatest improvement
was age 13 (increased from 80% - 88%).
● The greatest percentage increase was at Hemel
Hempstead School where there was a 16 percentage
point increase in the number of girls feeling they were
likely to achieve their predicted grade.

  • 2. Why? Our goal is to enrich the pool of talent available to businesses across the UK that rely on mathematical skills. We do this by inspiring young girls to explore the myriad of career possibilities that mathematics offers. Our approach involves close collaboration with educators and businesses to both support and champion role models who have harnessed mathematics to thrive in their careers. These volunteer role models engage with students through captivating talks, showcasing the practical applications of maths tailored to the UK context. It works! The evidence speaks volumes: research reveals that a single encounter with a Maths4Girls role model yields significant benefits: ● An 19% increase in awareness of the potential of mathematics. ● A 21% boost in the desire to pursue math-related career paths. ● A 10% surge in confidence in one's mathematical abilities.   • 5. “The top constraints of a young person’s growth is their ability to access companies and to develop their existing skills.” “The top 2 constraints of a company’s growth is their ability to access new talent and to develop their existing talent.” We use AI and ML to help our clients inspire youngpeople in their community so their organisation can later recruit and manage people who have the right skills for their business challenges. We use AI & ML to enable young people to acquire and deepen these skills through in-class role model provision, project-based work experience, mentoring, masterclasses and short online courses. A single M4G encounter boosts Girls’ perception of the importance of Maths by 19% In answer to the question: “Do you think you are going to need Maths in the future?” 1 261 out of 339 respondents Before 77% of girls believed that they were going to need Maths in the future (compared to 100% of boys)1 AFTER 92% of girls believed that they were going to need Maths in the future (from mixed gender classes) ● The greatest percentage increase was at Hemel Hempstead School where there was a 25% increase in the % of girls who thought they’d need Maths in the future after the event compared to before. A single M4G encounter boosts Girls’ Desire to pursue Maths past GCSE by 21% In answer to the question: “Are you planningto takeMaths after GCSE?” AFTER 51 % of girls (from mixed gender classes) agreed. ○ The age category which had the greatest increase was age 14 with a 23 percentage point increase (37% - 60%). ○ The greatest improvement was at Hollyfield School where there was a 34 percentage point increase in the number of girls wanting to pursue Maths after the event. Before 42% of girls reported that they planned to take Maths in the future compared to 72% of boys2 2 132 out of 317 respondents Registered Charity Number 1162197 11

A single M4G encounter boosts Girls’ confidence in Maths by 10% In answer to the question: “Do you think you will achieve your predicted grade?” Before 72% of girls believed that they were going to achieve their predicted grade. 3 233 out of 316 respondents 4 3% increase in single-sex schools AFTER 79% of girls from mixed gender classes agreed 4 ● The age category that had the greatest improvement was age 13 (increased from 80% - 88%). ● The greatest percentage increase was at Hemel Hempstead School where there was a 16 percentage point increase in the number of girls feeling they were likely to achieve their predicted grade.
