For selling the printers in Europe, HP had to add the right power supply for the intended country and
also the instruction manual in the correct language. Since testing with power supply was a part of FAT,
this customization was also done at the FAT plant unlike its computer division which delayed this
process to the Distribution Centres (DC). The inventory was carried at the Distribution Centres and
not at the factory.
Demand
In the Europe DC, it was becoming common to have product shortages for model demands from some
countries while inventory of some other model kept piling up. The target inventory levels at DC were
set by a rule of thumb and were proving ineffective. The primary reason for this seemed to be the
magnitude of variation in demand.

Inventory Model for Existing Supply Chain
Since the variation in demand is high, a fixed order quantity model would have been suitable for
modelling the inventory management process at the European DC of HP. We could have arrived at a
suitable reordering point looking into the lead time and demand variation in that lead time. However,
ordering cost is not available and is hard to estimate given the facts in the case and hence we reject
this model.
We propose to use the Fixed Time Period Model with Safety Stock for this

Personal Narrative-It s Good
It s Good! Those two words caused the dimples on my cheek to be more visible than ever, as I refused
not to show my joyful emotions. It was a cold winter day, but it didn t stop parents and fans from
coming to watch Our Lady of the Lake take on Our Lady of Sorrows at home. I personally had a
strong disliking for OLL (Our Lady of the Lake) for years I had to deal with never being able to beat
them. Scores that made us embarrassed as a team, unfortunately was was always the case when we
played The Lake. However, when I looked at my schedule that year, and realized that this would be
my last chance to face up against them, I knew I had to come with a different attitude. If I was granted
the opportunity to put the game away, I had no other choice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I was thinking of different ways this game could go, and every single way resulted in a Sorrow s lost.
Our minute was up, and it was time to take the court again for the most nerve racking thirty seconds of
my live. Lake lined up, spread all over the court to run their last play to tie to game. The ref blew the
whistle and Lake players began moving all over, their big man set a hard screen on me, allowing for
their point guard to get up for a corner three. As soon as the ball left his hands, I knew it was going in,
and I was completely right. Swish, the ball was nothing but net, and the gym erupted with Lake fans
applauding and screaming that their team was back in the game. I zoned out, and knew that this was
my golden opportunity to shut those fans up. I took the inbound with twelve seconds left in the game,
I drove ruthlessly to the basket, crossed over through one defender, and somehow managed to put up a
last second shot, and then ...... It s Good! Our Lady of Sorrows fan all on their feet yelling at the top of
their lungs, my team met we at half court jumping for joy. The smile on my face was bigger than ever.
I finally beat Lake, in a fashion I ll never

Masaccio And Annunciation
The Tribute Money by Masaccio and Annunciation by Leonardo Da Vinci are classic pieces that
possess traditional Florentine influences while also expanding new innovative techniques and
approaches that produce a different aesthetic and emotional response from its viewers. Tribute Money
depicts 3 scenes, all of which involve Jesus. Centered in the painting is a tax collector asking the
disciple Peter to pay the temple tax. To the left Jesus orders Peter to drop a hook in the sea to catch a
fish. In the fish s mouth is a coin that Peter proceeds to give to the tax collector on the right side of the
painting. The purpose was to depict the righteousness of paying tribute to tax collectors who were
often also agents of the church. Annunciation depicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was a time in which art, culture, and science were embraced and progress sought was pursued.
While progressive values were accepted, this did not mean traditional institutions such as the Roman
Catholic Church did not maintain its influence on society. Religion and politics were often intertwined
and ultimately influenced the works of many artists. The Church used arts as a form of communicating
messages, propaganda and was able to obtain power by doing so. Many of Leonardo s works are the
product of projects commissioned by churches and political leaders, which is the source of the
religious themes of many of his paintings. The Medici Family, which was the family in power during
this time, had a particularly strong alliance with the pope and Catholic Church. They served as bankers
and accountants to the Church. During the mid 1420s, the second phase of the war between Florence
and Milan occurred in which imposition of a new tax reform became imperative as the Medici looked
for a way to finance the battle. The Medici did not view this imposition as a violation of religious
authority. Additionally, the Medici was challenged again in 1472 as the pope and king of Naples
aimed to free Florence from Medici s oppression. Da Vinci s work could be interpreted as a symbol of
hope and liberation, as Gabriel visits the Virgin Mary from heaven, with news that she will conceive a
holy child. This demonstrates the intermingling of religion and politics, which is very much aligned
with the depiction we see in The Tribute Money and Annunciation. The depictions of divine moments
captured through the medium of great Renaissance art is clearly influenced by the role of the Church
at the time, and the paintings allow the viewer to enjoy the work but also reconsolidate their Christian

Invisalign Braces Research Paper
If you are planning to go for an Invisalign braces treatment in Gurgaon sector 31 for yourself, you
should alert that it is one of the most contemporary improvements in the cosmetic dental area. It is
superlative solution for those who are not too keen about being burdened with metal braces on their
teeth for years to come. The most common advantage of Invisalign braces includes the fact that they
are totally invisible. They are like a transparent plastic cover that is worn over your regular set of
teeth. However, since they are made of a clear plastic material, no one can essentially make out that
they are sitting over your teeth. Invisalign braces do not cause any type of uneasiness or tearing in
your gums of cheeks the way metal braces do every so often. There is no pressure on the jaw or the
gums when you wear an Invisalign brace. Since they are so comfy to wear, you even wind up
forgetting that you are in fact wearing braces and you can let yourself smile to the world, something
that maximum individuals who wear metal braces are generally conscious of. ... Show more content

common advantages of Invisalign braces include guarantee that you never have to be the topic of
mocking or banter because of your treatment. Since nobody can essentially see them unless they look
carefully, you can continue with your usual day to day work without losing any faith in your aptitudes
to amaze the world. Also, Invisalign braces can be removed as and when the wearer needs it. This
permits you to take the brace off while eating, drinking or brushing your

Business Structures Within The United States
One of the most important decisions when starting a company is to determine the type of legal entity
best suited for your business. Each country has different legal business entities under its regulatory
framework. According to Dewhurst (2014), the most common types of business structures within the
United States are: proprietorship, partnership, corporation, limited liability company, and cooperative.
Additionally, there are other types of legal entities derived from the association of different
corporations, such as joint ventures.
A proprietorship is the most basic business entity (Dewhurst, 2014), in which an owner receives all
profits and is legally liable for the obligations related to the business. It is the easiest structure to set
up, register and maintain, and additional tax incomes are not legally separated from the person. Its
biggest disadvantage is that the personal property of the owner are not legally protected in case of
financial obligations or company debts (Pakroo, 2004).
A partnership is related to any business entity conformed for two or more owners, not registered as a
corporation or a limited liability company. The partnership can be of two types: General partnership or
limited partnership. In a limited partnership, one of the owners generally acts as the general partner
assuming responsibility for managing the business decisions, while the limited partner only acts as a
financial contributor to the business without any participation on business

Analysis Of While The City Sleeps
While the City Sleeps is a dramatic film from 1956 based on a real life serial killer nicknamed The
Lipstick Killer. The screenplay was written by Casey Robinson and loosely follows the book The
Bloody Spur, written by Charles Einstein. By using gender criticism as a critical approach to
analyzing, I hope to show, as authors Kennedy and Gioia state in Literature: An Introduction to
Fiction, Poetry, and Drama, how the images of men and women in imaginative literature , in this case,
film, reflect the social forces that have historically kept the sexes from achieving total equality . The
book by Einstein tells the story of William George Heirens, the man accused of the murders of two
women and one young girl in 1945 and 1946. He was known as the Lipstick Killer because he wrote a
message with lipstick on the wall of his second victim s apartment. He eventually confessed to the
murders and spent 65 years in prison, Chicago s longest serving inmate. He died in 2012 at the age of
83; ill with diabetes and in a wheelchair. Years earlier he had recanted his confession and stated that he
had been a victim of coercive interrogation and police brutality. There is one scene in the movie where
the police are interrogating a janitor who was a suspect in the murders, who worked at the apartment
of the first victim. In the movie, the police have held him for four days under constant interrogation.
This scene and the real life situation it depicts makes the viewer question whether

Growing National Demand for Herbal Material
Results of a survey carried out in 2000 showed that there were 104 Ayurvedic Drug Production Units
in the country, using herbal materials valued at Rs. 176 million of which 68% is currently met by local
supply. The national demand for herbal materials was 3,864,759 kg and approximately 1,509,201 kg
of this amount was imported to meet the national demand at a cost of about Rs. 13 million (IUCN,
2001). Total requirement of certain Medicinal Plants are completely imported where the department of
Ayurveda records show that in 2013 there were 86 raw materials (486,071 Kg) imported at the cost of
Rs. 159.3 million. The figures very clearly demonstrate a significant drop of importation comparing to
year 2000. According to the gazette notification No. 1660/15 dated 2009.05.05 there are 73 plant raw
materials, 21 minerals, 7 animal drugs under Ayurveda section and 55 Unani raw materials declared as
duty free for importation. In other study Withania somnifera, Trachyspermum roxburghianum,
Hemidesmus indicus and Curculigo orchioides which have the highest imported percentages, were
accounted for 95.45%, 90%, 73.68% and 72.22% respectively (Kankanamalage et al. 2013).
In 1970s only 18 different plant materials were imported by Sri Lanka and these imports cost Sri
Lanka about Re. 1 million in foreign exchange each year. The apparent reason for importing plants
that are already available on the island is that they grow in remote areas and it is less expensive to
import them than to

How Did Andy Warhol Influence Art
Andy Warhol was loved by everyone due to view and of course his art. Andy Warhol rose to become
famous in several ways and soon became the most controversial artist of the 21st century. His views,
as well as his art, was associated with the Pop Art Movement in the 1960s. The famous art made by
Andy didn t just changed our view on art, it change art entirely. People were drawn to Andy Warhol
for a multiple of reasons. One reason was his complex view on art. Andy s art was involved a sense of
color that was unprecedented at the time, yet it looked printed. While most artist didn t understand his
views, it caught the attention of the people of the U.S. and soon the people of the world. An example

the novel The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo a shepherd boy, Santiago, is on a journey to fulfill his

EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP
EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP PAPER
Matthew 9:35 38 (NIV) reads, Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their
synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When
he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep
without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask
the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Through the lens of this
text God reveals to us the heart He has for His people in a lost and suffering world. Jesus points out to
his disciples what we should find significant today, and that is ... Show more content on

The idea of spiritual formation has somehow gotten lost in the shuffle of going to church versus
retaining the understanding that we in fact are the church and we carry within us the knowledge and
the skill to be transformational. The role of evangelism in Christian education is to aid in church
growth and expansion, as well as advancement toward the salvation of souls. Diane J. Hymans
suggests that evangelism and education suggests a variety of meanings and that it is a matter of
language that is clouding what the connotation of the definitions of evangelism, discipleship, and
education are (Hymans). She states that evangelism is making the gospel known in church and world ,
while education invites people to understand and claim their identity as baptized children of God and
to clarify their vocation as people called by God to live lives characterized by love of God and
neighbor (Hymans). Christian education is an intentional process in developing relationship with God
for the purpose of fulfilling the mandate to go and make disciples of all nations, to preach and teach
the good news of the gospel of Christ, and to build the Kingdom of God. In developing and
incorporating evangelism and discipleship into a current Christian education program I believe that
involvement of the entire membership of the congregation should be employed (all age

Forgetting The Females By Alison Bechdel
Benjamin Reyes Professor Keith Composition 1102 21 October 2014 Forgetting the Females In 1985
the Bechdel test was created by Alison Bechdel to test if a fictional piece had a significant amount of
female involvement (Bechdel). The test is as followed: two women, who are given names, must
converse with each other about anything excluding a man. Surprisingly many movies throughout the
history of film fail the Bechdel test. Currently in Hollywood the test highlights a problematic situation,
the lack of equality regarding male and female roles in film and females constantly being portrayed as
secondary characters. Many scholars have taken this into account, analyzing this issue and discussing
potential reasoning for this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She has never learned to take care of herself, because she believes a man will always be there to
rescue her (Bogarosh 21). In her book, she highlights female roles in the top grossing movies from the
2000 s and analyzes their purpose in the film. One example is the 2002 2007 trilogy of Spider man
directed by Sam Raimi. Mary Jane is the main female character and is saved by Spider man seven
times throughout the films. She serves as a plot device in all three films, being held hostage by the
movies main villain and ends up being a trap for Spider man to come and save her, but is met with a
final showdown with the villain. Bogarosh also mentions two other females in the films, Aunt May
and Gwen Stacy, and states they serve the same purpose, both held hostage by the villain and need to
be rescued by Spider man. These characters are depicted as weak, lacking leadership, and can t take
control of a situation, always needing a hero to save the day. Instead of developing the female
characters, maybe giving them a backstory or even having them fight some of their own battles, they
are represented as frail boring characters, while the male roles are more fleshed out. We get to see
Spider man s history, his perspective on the story, and see him save the day, while the females are only
there to be saved by him and serve no other purpose. Females take a backseat in other superhero
movies, not just Spider man. In,

To the girl across the bookshelves and 70 s smelling carpet
I ve seen you here perhaps a thousand times before. And sometimes you re the only one here. I always
wonder why. I wonder so because (and this sounds bad) you don t seem like the type to waste the day

Your dark hair has the subtlest streaks of red. Always done up in a ponytail, though I think it is more
beautiful when it is let down to frame your face. Cut along in a sharp straight line across your
shoulders. It shines in light. Glistens to the eyes that pass over it. Your skin is paler than mine. It
seems that even on beautiful days like this one you prefer to stay inside with a book, a pencil, and
your headphones on. I wonder why, again. I want to talk about it. I want to ask, but I don t know how

There! You glance up and secretly slip a half hidden smile at me. Like a hurriedly scribbled passed

Mental Health In J. C. Burke s The Story Of Tom Brennan
J.C. Burke s coming of age novel The Story of Tom Brennan construes the evolving life of Tom
Brennan after a tragic accident. Narrating in a first person point of view, Tom guides the reader
through the raw details of his inner conflict and finding his way back to being a better version of
himself. This essay aims to analyse the author s portrayal of mental health, internal conflict and the
effects of grief, loss and tragedy that are presented through each of the characters troubled
perspectives.
J.C Burke conveys the theme of mental health through Tom s view of Daniel. Daniel is in jail.
Confined to a cell and trapped with the thoughts of the accident he caused, Daniel is helpless. The
major impact he caused on Fin s life proves to traumatise him more than anything else. Because even
though Daniel is confined to a cell, Fin is confined to a wheelchair. Never to walk on his own two feet
again. When talking to Tom about the harshness of it all, Daniel was crying as he said, Fin. Fin s the
hardest, though, mate. I just couldn t get this picture out of my head, Fin in a wheelchair. Constantly ...

Burke illustrates Tom s inner conflict with first person narration. The guilt he feels over the inactivity
he had on the night of the incident, his frustration with Kylie and the added guilt he exhibits because
he feels sorry for himself all adds up to his conflicted thoughts. Tom doesn t know or feel like himself
anymore. But Burke brings this to the attention of the reader in a good light when Tom thinks, But
now I knew what I missed most. I missed me, Tom Brennan, and that s why now I could smile, cause I
could see he was coming back. Thus, when J.C. Burke aptly finishes the book with the line that was
the morning Tom Brennan came back, forever, the true development in Tom s character and conflict is
shown through the employment of first person narration. Therefore, J.C. Burke thoroughly addressed
the conflict in Tom s mind as it was overcome in the

Good Versus Evil In The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight (2008), directed by Christopher Nolan, demonstrates the idea of good versus evil.
Batman is known as the protagonist, and Joker is known as the ultimate villain. The representation of
crime in the film is seen from the actions of both characters. The film essentially depicts the act of
deviance meaning, behaviour that violates social norms, including laws . In normality the government
would have the greatest amount of power, but in the Gotham city, power is complex. There is minimal
structure of law and order in Gotham city due to powerful people like Batman and the Joker. Citizens
of Gotham city can no longer fight for themselves in a world filled with supernatural powers.
Therefore, the only hope that citizens have rest in the hands of Batman. Although Batman attempts to
save Gotham city from Joker s criminal intentions. Batman, however, also plays a role in deviant
activity while attempting to catch the Joker. Realistically, Batman violates the moral code due to
destructive behaviour, and putting the lives of citizens at harm. He does not care for social norms, nor
whether his acts are of legality. He is devoted to combat organized crime with Harvey Dent, a district
attorney in Gotham city. Batman is in fact, the definition of crime, he understands but does not abide
to individual rights and social contracts which make up the rule of law. In addition, the man behind
Batman, Bruce Wayne also portrays a form of deviance by disguising himself as Batman.

Nature Vs. Nurture In Human Language And Language
I personally believe that nurture plays a bigger role in the development of human language than
nature. To establish an understanding of the roles of nature vs. nurture as it contributes to a person and
the role in the community a set of knowledge issues need to be questioned. These two issues are what
is the definition of Nature V.S. Nurture? And why are these two factors important for humans and their
ability to develop their language skill in order to communicate and express themselves? The first
knowledge issue of what is the definition of Nature vs. Nurture can be expressed in simpler terms than
that of the second knowledge issue. The issue of nature can be expressed as traits or the most
commonly used term genetics, meaning a person is born with these traits. While nurture ... Show more

impact from nurture rather than nature. They are able to expand or be left behind because of how a

in the year due to his wife s mother s serious illness, and by this time of the year, only applicants with
scores 470 or higher were accepted. There were, however, four special admissions slots remaining, but
Bakke was ineligible for these. The special admissions program at Davis was reserved for applicants
from disadvantaged backgrounds, and these applicants, who were required to be from a racial minority
group, were evaluated separately from the other regular admissions applicants. In both years that he
applied, Bakke s GPA was close to the average for regular admittees, but significantly higher than that
of the special admittees. His MCAT scores were well above both averages. Bakke was angered but

gross loss reserve in a amount equal to the reinsurance it expects to recover from the insurer yet in
Converium s IPO prospectus Zurich Re purchased reinsurance from Inter Ocean and ceded these
liabilities to a Zurich entity. Had the auditing firm done its job perfectly it would have realized that
Converium had violated Section 10(b) of the Exchange Act and Rule 10b 5 by knowingly and
recklessly making false and misleading statements in the events leading to the IPO. In the process of
conducting the audit the auditing firm should have realized that Converium understated its pre tax
losses for the previous year before the IPO was conducted.
In its defense, the auditing firm could possibly posit that instead of engaging in risk transfer analysis,
it undertook to use the deposit method despite the fact that the latter lacks the potential accounting
benefits of re insurance accounting.
Facts of the cases that necessitated investigation
Zurich Re designed transactions to enable them to transfer risks to third party reinsurers when no risks
were essentially transferred outside of Zurich owned entities. While Zurich Re appeared to have ceded
risk to third party reinsurers it indeed take them back

This document is already formatted correctly. 1. (20 points) Discuss the dispersal scenarios of
platyrrhine origins in the Caribbean islands and Greater Antilles. How do the extinct Caribbean
platyrrhine species relate to extant platyrrhines? There are many dispersal theories for how primates,
such as platyrrhines, found their way into South and North America. Unfortunately, the fossil record

This means understanding if the primates take part in inbreeding or if they only breed with those not
related to them, this could also help us to understand how different clans of callitrichids interact with
each other. This research project would need to be multi faceted. Including lab work looking at the
DNA and ultrasounds of these primates. A closer look at what is actually going on down there (the

Unfortunately, tamarins and marmosets are fairly small, and there uteri even smaller making it

The Corruption Of Saddam Hussein
Throughout history corruption has been laid upon many countries changing it in numerous ways. This
corruption derives through certain people, creating a havoc for those having to follow orders set by
leaders they blindly follow. In Iraq, citizens have been tortured, forced to relocate their families,
arrested and murdered. All of this happened under the control of Saddam Hussein and we have neither
found, nor did he offer an explanation to these actions. He has been notorious for attacking people
who disagreed with his opinions, especially other politicians that would give any sort of competition
to access leadership for Iraq. He is responsible for persecuting and denying his own citizens human
rights. Not only physically but financially, spending all of the countries money on monuments and
palaces as he watches his people die from malnutrition and lack of medical attention.
Saddam Hussein was born on April 28, 1937 in a village called Ouja, near Tikrit in Northern Iraq, He
grew up in a broken home, His family was poor, they were peasants who did not have a home. He
grew up without a father, it is unknown if his father died or disappeared when he was younger. When
he was still a child, he was sent to live with his uncle, Khairallah Tulfah, who made a deep impact on
what Hussein later did in his life. There is proof that Saddam was connected to violence at an early
age. There are several reports that link him to the murders of a school teacher and/or a

Environmental Issues Of The Bottled Water Industry
Water Bottle Waste One of the biggest challenges facing the bottled water industry is how to respond
to the environmental claims levelled against it (Grocer). Every time someone throws a bottle away,
they have taken up more space in a landfill for the next four hundred fifty to one thousand years.
Besides the long decomposition rate, water bottles are the cause of several more environmental issues.
Overfilling landfills, health hazards caused by refilling, and the economic stresses due to the constant
and inconvenient repurchasing are just a few of the negatives water bottles have on us. These plastic
pollutants are doing more harm to both the environment and their users than good. The water bottle
industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States. This being said, our landfills are
filled with more than eighty five percent of plastic bottles. Their long lifetime and thoughtless
consumers are not only filing our dumps with these plastic bottles, but hurting our oceans too. Since
water bottles do not biodegrade, they can float aimlessly on the ocean surface for years. They also
may cause a passing predator to be fooled into thinking it is a resting prey. Little did that predator
know, they were going to have a serious stomach ache trying to digest a plastic bottle. It also pollutes
the soil and waterways as well. Besides the space water bottles physically fill, their production waste
is just as dire. In America alone, we use about seventeen

Comparing Pride And Prejudice And Our Mutual Friend, By...
During the 19th century, men were the ones who typically proposed to women. However, men did not
solely ask for their hand in marriage, they also had to formulate something to say. In the books Pride
and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens, there are two men who
decide to propose to someone they take liking in. Those men are William Collins who proposes to
Elizabeth Bennett (Pride and Prejudice) and Bradley Headstone who proposes to Lizzie Hexam.
Although both of the men s proposal resulted in rejection, one of the proposals had better diction than
the other. The ideas such as bringing up [their significant other s] reputation or having true love for
[their significant lover] may indicate to the women they are truly sincere. Due to the time period s
typical romances, there were a limited amount of things a woman and man can do with each other in
public. Specifically, the men and women were not allowed to kiss, go on dates alone, or hold hands.

Jamaic Out Of Many, One People
Jamaica: Out of Many, One People History of the Culture One would think that an island would have
a culture of its own with very little outside influence, however that is not the case with this island.
Located in the Caribbean Sea, Jamaica is rich in culture from its European and African history.
Jamaica was first populated by the Taino people, who were also called Arawaks, in AD 600. It was
then found by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and shortly thereafter became a Spanish Territory. A
decade later, the population was equally split between Spanish and slaves with a small percentage of
free blacks and the native Taino people. In 1655, the English army captured Jamaica and fifteen years
later, Jamaica formerly concedes to England. A decade later, the slaves, making up eighty four percent
of the population, decided to rebel. However, full emancipation from slavery happened in 1838,
almost a century later despite the gross population unbalance. Beginning in 1841, the island started
having more outside influence when the first indentured workers arrived from Africa, India, China,
Syria, Lebanon and the Mediterranean. In 1962, Jamaica gained full independence from Britain after
almost two decades of self government formation. The history and vast cultural influences of Jamaica
makes the country s motto of Out of many, One People ring true. (Mordecai Mordecai, 2001) Slavery
of a nation is a tragic hardship of the people, however the abolition of slavery brought

Political Campaign Dbq
Effective Strategies Used in Political Campaigns One successful strategy applied in political
propaganda is plain folks . This strategy appeals to regular citizens in different ways, whether making
the politician seem down to earth, homely, or simply relatable. One example of this is when candidates
always seem to be rolling up their sleeves, wearing jeans, drinking beer, or doing some other ordinary
activity. This gives politicians a more approachable and empathetic vibe, and is helpful in relating
voters to the candidate, hence giving them a desire to vote. Another example of this is shown in
Document C, through Stevenson s song I Love the Guv . The lyric I d rather have a man with a hole in
his shoe than a hole in everything he says is a powerful example of this type of strategy, as it is
making Stevenson just seem like another normal citizen. Although this strategy is extremely effective
and quite ethical, it may be, at times, less than informative. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These types of ads, also known as attack ads, target the opponent s flaws and weakness in an unethical

opposed virtually every defense system we developed...And now he wants to be our Commander in
Chief. America can t afford that risk. While most people would think that these negatively skewed ads
would turn away voters, according to data, this has actually proved to be an extremely effective
strategy. Although attack ads have proved their effectiveness, they are not particularly informative or

Social Class Sociology
Social class affects society in many ways. Throughout research I found that social class mostly affects
health, life and education. The rich has more advantage than the middle class and the middle class has
more advantage than the lower class all due to money. Health is one of the most important factor in
one s life. The poor are more prone to diseases and are the ones who are disadvantaged in the
healthcare system. The lower and working class have low access to fresh produce and exercise
facilities. The rich get one of the best education while the poor end up dropping out of school due to
financial reasons. Education is also very important for preventing diseases, having a healthy diet and

Body Modifications Are An Example Of External Cues
Impression formation begins immediately upon meeting someone or noticing him or her for the first.
People make a wide range of psychological judgments every single day and every time they see some
one, typically regarding a person s traits, moods, personality, and psychological states. People
typically base these judgments off of stereotypes, scripts, and other person relevant information,
which generally leads to the judgments being somewhat inaccurate. Despite this, people continue to
intentionally and unintentionally use external cues to establish first impressions and opinions within
the first few seconds of seeing someone for the first time, and then make perceptions about his or her
potential personality and/or lifestyle.

subject has had several limitations such as small samples and limited age of participants, specifically

experiments and overcome previous limitations by recruiting a large, general population sample as the
participants for this experiment. Researchers recruited 440 participants for this study, 230 women and

formation of rust. Rust is a reddish brown compound called iron oxide (Fe2O3). This is formed when
iron is in contact with oxidant or acids. For iron to rust you must have water and oxygen. As the first
drop of water touches the iron it combines with carbon dioxide in the air to form a weak carbonic acid.
As this weak acid is formed the iron starts to dissolve, some of the water will begin to break down into

Brazil s The Unified Health System Essay
In Brazil s recent history, the country s healthcare market has been largely inaccessible to foreign
investment. The country has dedicated public funds to run health care facilities. According to (The
Lancet, 2014), Brazil s 1998 constitution officially declared all citizens were entitled to healthcare.
This provision birthed the Unified Health System (SUS). A system which relies heavily on taxes and
government support. Historically, Brazil s government has blocked FDI inflows in the health sector.
However stagnation, combined with a strong desire to spur economic growth, gave way to a major
policy change. As noted by (Alves, 2015), in January 2015 a new provision was enacted by the
Brazilian government to allow foreign investment in the health sector. This landmark policy alteration
may mark the beginning of dramatic increases in the countries Healthcare sector over the next decade.
Brazil s Healthcare system is divided into public (SUS) and private health coverage. As economic
prosperity increased over the past 20 years, more citizens have opted to purchase better coverage in
the public sector. Now, in 2015, policy reform has opened the door to foreign investors to enter the
market. This includes hospital construction/management, health insurance, even bio technical research
and development. Alves (2015), details the statement from representatives at Chenut Oliveira

Cardiac Output ( Co )
Cardiac Output (CO) is defined as the volume of blood pumped out by the heart, specifically by the
left and right ventricle, per unit time (usually in 1 minute). It is the product of Stroke Volume (SV) and
Heart Rate (HR) [1].
CO = SV x HR
Jessica s pre exercise cardiac output can therefore be calculated as 70ml x 70bpm = 4900ml/min or
4.9L/min, whilst her post exercise cardiac output is 110ml x 130bpm = 14.3L/min. In an adult at rest,
the average cardiac output is 4.9L/min for a human female and 5.6L/min for a male [2]. Throughout
normal life, however, cardiac output can vary continuously depending on the metabolic demands of
the body. As seen with Jessica, cardiac output may be raised during exercise, and may also be reduced,
for example in sleep [3].
Stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped out from a ventricle in one heartbeat, and is dependent
on several factors such as heart size, contraction duration, contractility, preload, and afterload [1].
Stroke volume can be calculated as the difference between the volume of blood in the ventricle just
before a heartbeat (end diastolic volume; EDV) and the volume following contraction (end systolic
volume; ESV) [4].
SV = EDV ESV
Average stroke volume is around 70ml (in a healthy 70kg man; with approximately 120ml and 50ml
measurements for EDV and ESV, respectively) [4]. Jessica s stroke volume is also 70ml, which
increases (as expected) to 110ml following exercise, achieved by a drop in ESV due to a more
complete emptying

Analysis Of The Book The Revolution By Jack Rakove
Revolutionaries, by Jack Rakove published in 2010 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing
Company, which is located in New York city, New York, brings a collection of stories of the founding
fathers together to create the story of the American Revloution. The thesis of the book is arguably that
the American Revolution may never have happened without the mishaps of the Boston Tea Party,
which in turn created a collection of colonial leaders. Rakove s book, in the early chapters, focus on
Samuel and John Adams, John Dickinson, and George Washington. The later sections talk about the
trio of key party leaders in the early Republic: Jefferson, Madison, and Hamilton. Throughout, we are
introduced to less commonly know people: Henry Laurens, Jack Laurens, Arthur Lee and George
Mason The account of the first part of Revolutionaries is one we all learn in elementary school: no
taxation without representation and the Boston Tea Party. We re too comfortable with this period, or at
least with how we know it: the characters and the events have the well worn quality that comes from
being handled too much. Benjamin Franklin with his half glasses sells us plumbing and tax advice.
Proud Sam Adams hawks beer. Rakove uses rich descriptions of the Founders daily lives to quicken
the plaster cast heroes. While the First Continental Congress (meeting in Philadelphia in the fall of
1774) was debating how to respond to harsh British sanctions against the city of Boston, delegate

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For selling the printers in Europe, HP had to add the right power supply for the intended country and also the instruction manual in the correct language. Since testing with power supply was a part of FAT, this customization was also done at the FAT plant unlike its computer division which delayed this process to the Distribution Centres (DC). The inventory was carried at the Distribution Centres and not at the factory. Demand In the Europe DC, it was becoming common to have product shortages for model demands from some countries while inventory of some other model kept piling up. The target inventory levels at DC were set by a rule of thumb and were proving ineffective. The primary reason for this seemed to be the magnitude of variation in demand. [pic] [pic] Inventory Model for Existing Supply Chain Since the variation in demand is high, a fixed order quantity model would have been suitable for modelling the inventory management process at the European DC of HP. We could have arrived at a suitable reordering point looking into the lead time and demand variation in that lead time. However, ordering cost is not available and is hard to estimate given the facts in the case and hence we reject this model. We propose to use the Fixed Time Period Model with Safety Stock for this

It was a cold winter day, but it didn t stop parents and fans from coming to watch Our Lady of the Lake take on Our Lady of Sorrows at home. I personally had a strong disliking for OLL (Our Lady of the Lake) for years I had to deal with never being able to beat them. Scores that made us embarrassed as a team, unfortunately was was always the case when we played The Lake. However, when I looked at my schedule that year, and realized that this would be my last chance to face up against them, I knew I had to come with a different attitude. If I was granted the opportunity to put the game away, I had no other choice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was thinking of different ways this game could go, and every single way resulted in a Sorrow s lost. Our minute was up, and it was time to take the court again for the most nerve racking thirty seconds of my live. Lake lined up, spread all over the court to run their last play to tie to game. The ref blew the whistle and Lake players began moving all over, their big man set a hard screen on me, allowing for their point guard to get up for a corner three. As soon as the ball left his hands, I knew it was going in, and I was completely right. Swish, the ball was nothing but net, and the gym erupted with Lake fans applauding and screaming that their team was back in the game. I zoned out, and knew that this was my golden opportunity to shut those fans up. I took the inbound with twelve seconds left in the game, I drove ruthlessly to the basket, crossed over through one defender, and somehow managed to put up a last second shot, and then ...... • 6. Masaccio And Annunciation The Tribute Money by Masaccio and Annunciation by Leonardo Da Vinci are classic pieces that possess traditional Florentine influences while also expanding new innovative techniques and approaches that produce a different aesthetic and emotional response from its viewers. Tribute Money depicts 3 scenes, all of which involve Jesus. Centered in the painting is a tax collector asking the disciple Peter to pay the temple tax. To the left Jesus orders Peter to drop a hook in the sea to catch a fish. In the fish s mouth is a coin that Peter proceeds to give to the tax collector on the right side of the painting. The purpose was to depict the righteousness of paying tribute to tax collectors who were often also agents of the church. Annunciation depicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was a time in which art, culture, and science were embraced and progress sought was pursued. While progressive values were accepted, this did not mean traditional institutions such as the Roman Catholic Church did not maintain its influence on society. Religion and politics were often intertwined and ultimately influenced the works of many artists. The Church used arts as a form of communicating messages, propaganda and was able to obtain power by doing so. Many of Leonardo s works are the product of projects commissioned by churches and political leaders, which is the source of the religious themes of many of his paintings. The Medici Family, which was the family in power during this time, had a particularly strong alliance with the pope and Catholic Church. They served as bankers and accountants to the Church. During the mid 1420s, the second phase of the war between Florence and Milan occurred in which imposition of a new tax reform became imperative as the Medici looked for a way to finance the battle. The Medici did not view this imposition as a violation of religious authority. Additionally, the Medici was challenged again in 1472 as the pope and king of Naples aimed to free Florence from Medici s oppression. Da Vinci s work could be interpreted as a symbol of hope and liberation, as Gabriel visits the Virgin Mary from heaven, with news that she will conceive a holy child. This demonstrates the intermingling of religion and politics, which is very much aligned with the depiction we see in The Tribute Money and Annunciation. The depictions of divine moments captured through the medium of great Renaissance art is clearly influenced by the role of the Church at the time, and the paintings allow the viewer to enjoy the work but also reconsolidate their Christian ... • 8. Business Structures Within The United States One of the most important decisions when starting a company is to determine the type of legal entity best suited for your business. Each country has different legal business entities under its regulatory framework. According to Dewhurst (2014), the most common types of business structures within the United States are: proprietorship, partnership, corporation, limited liability company, and cooperative. Additionally, there are other types of legal entities derived from the association of different corporations, such as joint ventures. A proprietorship is the most basic business entity (Dewhurst, 2014), in which an owner receives all profits and is legally liable for the obligations related to the business. It is the easiest structure to set up, register and maintain, and additional tax incomes are not legally separated from the person. Its biggest disadvantage is that the personal property of the owner are not legally protected in case of financial obligations or company debts (Pakroo, 2004). A partnership is related to any business entity conformed for two or more owners, not registered as a corporation or a limited liability company. • 9. Analysis Of While The City Sleeps While the City Sleeps is a dramatic film from 1956 based on a real life serial killer nicknamed The Lipstick Killer. The screenplay was written by Casey Robinson and loosely follows the book The Bloody Spur, written by Charles Einstein. By using gender criticism as a critical approach to analyzing, I hope to show, as authors Kennedy and Gioia state in Literature: An Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, and Drama, how the images of men and women in imaginative literature , in this case, film, reflect the social forces that have historically kept the sexes from achieving total equality . The book by Einstein tells the story of William George Heirens, the man accused of the murders of two women and one young girl in 1945 and 1946. He was known as the Lipstick Killer because he wrote a message with lipstick on the wall of his second victim s apartment. He eventually confessed to the murders and spent 65 years in prison, Chicago s longest serving inmate. He died in 2012 at the age of 83; ill with diabetes and in a wheelchair. Years earlier he had recanted his confession and stated that he had been a victim of coercive interrogation and police brutality. There is one scene in the movie where the police are interrogating a janitor who was a suspect in the murders, who worked at the apartment of the first victim. In the movie, the police have held him for four days under constant interrogation. This scene and the real life situation it depicts makes the viewer question whether ... The national demand for herbal materials was 3,864,759 kg and approximately 1,509,201 kg of this amount was imported to meet the national demand at a cost of about Rs. 13 million (IUCN, 2001). Total requirement of certain Medicinal Plants are completely imported where the department of Ayurveda records show that in 2013 there were 86 raw materials (486,071 Kg) imported at the cost of Rs. 159.3 million. The figures very clearly demonstrate a significant drop of importation comparing to year 2000. According to the gazette notification No. 1660/15 dated 2009.05.05 there are 73 plant raw materials, 21 minerals, 7 animal drugs under Ayurveda section and 55 Unani raw materials declared as duty free for importation. In 1970s only 18 different plant materials were imported by Sri Lanka and these imports cost Sri Lanka about Re. 1 million in foreign exchange each year. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. The idea of spiritual formation has somehow gotten lost in the shuffle of going to church versus retaining the understanding that we in fact are the church and we carry within us the knowledge and the skill to be transformational. The role of evangelism in Christian education is to aid in church growth and expansion, as well as advancement toward the salvation of souls. Diane J. Hymans suggests that evangelism and education suggests a variety of meanings and that it is a matter of language that is clouding what the connotation of the definitions of evangelism, discipleship, and education are (Hymans). She states that evangelism is making the gospel known in church and world , while education invites people to understand and claim their identity as baptized children of God and to clarify their vocation as people called by God to live lives characterized by love of God and neighbor (Hymans). Christian education is an intentional process in developing relationship with God for the purpose of fulfilling the mandate to go and make disciples of all nations, to preach and teach the good news of the gospel of Christ, and to build the Kingdom of God. The test is as followed: two women, who are given names, must converse with each other about anything excluding a man. Surprisingly many movies throughout the history of film fail the Bechdel test. Mary Jane is the main female character and is saved by Spider man seven times throughout the films. She serves as a plot device in all three films, being held hostage by the movies main villain and ends up being a trap for Spider man to come and save her, but is met with a final showdown with the villain. Bogarosh also mentions two other females in the films, Aunt May and Gwen Stacy, and states they serve the same purpose, both held hostage by the villain and need to be rescued by Spider man. These characters are depicted as weak, lacking leadership, and can t take control of a situation, always needing a hero to save the day. Instead of developing the female characters, maybe giving them a backstory or even having them fight some of their own battles, they are represented as frail boring characters, while the male roles are more fleshed out. Narrating in a first person point of view, Tom guides the reader through the raw details of his inner conflict and finding his way back to being a better version of himself. This essay aims to analyse the author s portrayal of mental health, internal conflict and the effects of grief, loss and tragedy that are presented through each of the characters troubled perspectives. J.C Burke conveys the theme of mental health through Tom s view of Daniel. Daniel is in jail. Confined to a cell and trapped with the thoughts of the accident he caused, Daniel is helpless. The major impact he caused on Fin s life proves to traumatise him more than anything else. Because even though Daniel is confined to a cell, Fin is confined to a wheelchair. • 19. Good Versus Evil In The Dark Knight The Dark Knight (2008), directed by Christopher Nolan, demonstrates the idea of good versus evil. Batman is known as the protagonist, and Joker is known as the ultimate villain. The representation of crime in the film is seen from the actions of both characters. The film essentially depicts the act of deviance meaning, behaviour that violates social norms, including laws . In normality the government would have the greatest amount of power, but in the Gotham city, power is complex. There is minimal structure of law and order in Gotham city due to powerful people like Batman and the Joker. Citizens of Gotham city can no longer fight for themselves in a world filled with supernatural powers. Therefore, the only hope that citizens have rest in the hands of Batman. Although Batman attempts to save Gotham city from Joker s criminal intentions. Batman, however, also plays a role in deviant activity while attempting to catch the Joker. Realistically, Batman violates the moral code due to destructive behaviour, and putting the lives of citizens at harm. He does not care for social norms, nor whether his acts are of legality. He is devoted to combat organized crime with Harvey Dent, a district attorney in Gotham city. Batman is in fact, the definition of crime, he understands but does not abide to individual rights and social contracts which make up the rule of law. Besides the long decomposition rate, water bottles are the cause of several more environmental issues. Overfilling landfills, health hazards caused by refilling, and the economic stresses due to the constant and inconvenient repurchasing are just a few of the negatives water bottles have on us. Located in the Caribbean Sea, Jamaica is rich in culture from its European and African history. Jamaica was first populated by the Taino people, who were also called Arawaks, in AD 600. It was then found by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and shortly thereafter became a Spanish Territory. A decade later, the population was equally split between Spanish and slaves with a small percentage of free blacks and the native Taino people. In 1655, the English army captured Jamaica and fifteen years later, Jamaica formerly concedes to England. A decade later, the slaves, making up eighty four percent of the population, decided to rebel. However, full emancipation from slavery happened in 1838, almost a century later despite the gross population unbalance. Beginning in 1841, the island started having more outside influence when the first indentured workers arrived from Africa, India, China, Syria, Lebanon and the Mediterranean. In 1962, Jamaica gained full independence from Britain after almost two decades of self government formation. The history and vast cultural influences of Jamaica makes the country s motto of Out of many, One People ring true. • 31. Political Campaign Dbq Effective Strategies Used in Political Campaigns One successful strategy applied in political propaganda is plain folks . This strategy appeals to regular citizens in different ways, whether making the politician seem down to earth, homely, or simply relatable. One example of this is when candidates always seem to be rolling up their sleeves, wearing jeans, drinking beer, or doing some other ordinary activity. This gives politicians a more approachable and empathetic vibe, and is helpful in relating voters to the candidate, hence giving them a desire to vote. Another example of this is shown in Document C, through Stevenson s song I Love the Guv . The lyric I d rather have a man with a hole in his shoe than a hole in everything he says is a powerful example of this type of strategy, as it is making Stevenson just seem like another normal citizen. Although this strategy is extremely effective and quite ethical, it may be, at times, less than informative. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poor are more prone to diseases and are the ones who are disadvantaged in the healthcare system. The lower and working class have low access to fresh produce and exercise facilities. • 33. Body Modifications Are An Example Of External Cues Impression formation begins immediately upon meeting someone or noticing him or her for the first. People make a wide range of psychological judgments every single day and every time they see some one, typically regarding a person s traits, moods, personality, and psychological states. People typically base these judgments off of stereotypes, scripts, and other person relevant information, which generally leads to the judgments being somewhat inaccurate. Despite this, people continue to intentionally and unintentionally use external cues to establish first impressions and opinions within the first few seconds of seeing someone for the first time, and then make perceptions about his or her potential personality and/or lifestyle. Previous research regarding this subject has had several limitations such as small samples and limited age of participants, specifically undergraduate students. The goal of the investigators in this study was to build on previous experiments and overcome previous limitations by recruiting a large, general population sample as the participants for this experiment. Researchers recruited 440 participants for this study, 230 women and 210 men, from a southern German speaking area of Europe. All of the participants in the study were Caucasian and a majority of the participants were in a relationship, Christian, and had completed secondary education. It is also important to note that 19.8% of the sample had a body piercing other than the ear lobe. Ultimately, the researchers wanted to explore how facial piercings and observer personality affected perceptions of physical attractiveness and intelligence To discover the traits of the participants, the participants were given personality tests to discover their scores for the Big Five personality traits, otherwise known as openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and emotional stability. It is responsible for how many things work for example how your car gets you to school, how soaps clean you, and even how your cell phone charges. But one of the most profound and common chemical reaction that occurs is to formation of rust. Rust is a reddish brown compound called iron oxide (Fe2O3). This is formed when iron is in contact with oxidant or acids. For iron to rust you must have water and oxygen. As the first drop of water touches the iron it combines with carbon dioxide in the air to form a weak carbonic acid. As this weak acid is formed the iron starts to dissolve, some of the water will begin to break down into hydrogen and oxygen. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Brazil s The Unified Health System Essay In Brazil s recent history, the country s healthcare market has been largely inaccessible to foreign investment. The country has dedicated public funds to run health care facilities. According to (The Lancet, 2014), Brazil s 1998 constitution officially declared all citizens were entitled to healthcare. This provision birthed the Unified Health System (SUS). A system which relies heavily on taxes and government support. Historically, Brazil s government has blocked FDI inflows in the health sector. However stagnation, combined with a strong desire to spur economic growth, gave way to a major policy change. As noted by (Alves, 2015), in January 2015 a new provision was enacted by the Brazilian government to allow foreign investment in the health sector. This landmark policy alteration may mark the beginning of dramatic increases in the countries Healthcare sector over the next decade. Brazil s Healthcare system is divided into public (SUS) and private health coverage. As economic prosperity increased over the past 20 years, more citizens have opted to purchase better coverage in the public sector. Now, in 2015, policy reform has opened the door to foreign investors to enter the market. This includes hospital construction/management, health insurance, even bio technical research and development. Levitt and Dubner make the book interesting by making wild comparisons. Then, they justify these comparisons with hard evidence and it is quite amazing. For example, take this quote: The problem with crack dealing is the same as in every other glamour profession: a lot of people are competing for a very few prizes (Levitt and Dubner, pg. 103). • 38. Cardiac Output ( Co ) Cardiac Output (CO) is defined as the volume of blood pumped out by the heart, specifically by the left and right ventricle, per unit time (usually in 1 minute). It is the product of Stroke Volume (SV) and Heart Rate (HR) [1]. CO = SV x HR Jessica s pre exercise cardiac output can therefore be calculated as 70ml x 70bpm = 4900ml/min or 4.9L/min, whilst her post exercise cardiac output is 110ml x 130bpm = 14.3L/min. In an adult at rest, the average cardiac output is 4.9L/min for a human female and 5.6L/min for a male [2]. Throughout normal life, however, cardiac output can vary continuously depending on the metabolic demands of the body. As seen with Jessica, cardiac output may be raised during exercise, and may also be reduced, for example in sleep [3]. Stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped out from a ventricle in one heartbeat, and is dependent on several factors such as heart size, contraction duration, contractility, preload, and afterload [1]. Stroke volume can be calculated as the difference between the volume of blood in the ventricle just before a heartbeat (end diastolic volume; EDV) and the volume following contraction (end systolic volume; ESV) [4]. SV = EDV ESV Average stroke volume is around 70ml (in a healthy 70kg man; with approximately 120ml and 50ml measurements for EDV and ESV, respectively) [4]. Jessica s stroke volume is also 70ml, which increases (as expected) to 110ml following exercise, achieved by a drop in ESV due to a more complete emptying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Analysis Of The Book The Revolution By Jack Rakove Revolutionaries, by Jack Rakove published in 2010 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company, which is located in New York city, New York, brings a collection of stories of the founding fathers together to create the story of the American Revloution. The thesis of the book is arguably that the American Revolution may never have happened without the mishaps of the Boston Tea Party, which in turn created a collection of colonial leaders. Rakove s book, in the early chapters, focus on Samuel and John Adams, John Dickinson, and George Washington. The later sections talk about the trio of key party leaders in the early Republic: Jefferson, Madison, and Hamilton. Throughout, we are introduced to less commonly know people: Henry Laurens, Jack Laurens, Arthur Lee and George Mason The account of the first part of Revolutionaries is one we all learn in elementary school: no taxation without representation and the Boston Tea Party. We re too comfortable with this period, or at least with how we know it: the characters and the events have the well worn quality that comes from being handled too much. Benjamin Franklin with his half glasses sells us plumbing and tax advice. Proud Sam Adams hawks beer. Rakove uses rich descriptions of the Founders daily lives to quicken the plaster cast heroes. While the First Continental Congress (meeting in Philadelphia in the fall of 1774) was debating how to respond to harsh British sanctions against the city of Boston, delegate George ... Second, microcalcifications may have very low contrast with respect to the surrounding tissue especially when microcalcifications form within dense tissue which has high and homogeneous intensity.
