LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

2. The Parker Brothers Monopoly Board Game
Monopoly Monopoly is a board game that was first published by the Parker Brothers, an American
toy and game manufacturer, in 1935. Known also as The Fast Dealing Property Trading Game,
Monopoly is a game about owning the most properties, having the most money, and defeating your
competition by leading them to declare bankruptcy. Monopolyallows you to do this through
different opportunities of charging rent for the properties you own when another player lands on
your space, building houses and hotels to increase the rent price of your properties, and by picking
up or losing extra money through the chance and community chest spaces on the board.
The game revolves around the idea of a monopoly, which is when a market is exclusively ... Show

If you are looking for a quick and fun game to play, it is best that you steer away from Monopoly.
The game play starts out with everyone slowly buying properties and collecting full property
sets that you must have to be able to build your houses and hotels on. This process can be made
especially longer when house rules are added. House rules are unofficial game rules that many
people add when playing the game. Some house rules can include the rule of not being able to
buy any properties until you have taken a full turn around the board and depending on how high
you roll, this can be very time consuming. Another downside of the game is how players can be
easily eliminated early in the game. If an unexperienced Monopoly player begins the game by
buying everything they land on and spending their money without strategizing properly, they will
easily go bankrupt and be left to watch the other players for a few hours until the game is over.
Lastly, another weakness that the Monopoly board game has is how your success in the game is
highly based on luck. After all the initial buying, trading, and building, it is left up to how lucky
you are to have people land on your properties. At this point in the game, it is just a matter of a few
unlucky rolls until people start going

At the moment of birth an ant larvae is assigned their role within the colony. There are three
possible employment opportunities; an aristocrat, a worker or a soldier.
The colony is much departmentalised, which describes the basis by which jobs in an organisation
are grouped together [2] (Robbins amp; Judge, 2011). The different job divisions from work
specialisation become further departmentalised in to different functions. The worker ants have their
managers, the soldier ants have a commander General Mandible and the royal ants are overseen by
the Queen, who also oversees the rest of the colony.
In this colony, a clear chain of command can be seen. This is the unbroken line of authority that
extends from the top of the organization to the lowest echelon and clarifies who reports to
whom [3] (Robbins amp; Judge, 2011). Every order that is to be given, first has to be approved
by the Queen. This is seen, when the General wants to declare war, Colonel Cutter asks him,
Don t we need the Queen s approval to declare war? (Darnell amp; Johnson, 1998). The ant in
command of the workers, the Foreman, reports to the General if something concerning the
working ants goes wrong. An example of this is the incident, where the ant ball is dropped by Z in
the beginning of the movie, and the Foreman is called in to have a talk to the General about the
workers.
A wide span of control is portrayed by the Antz colony. This means that

On my third day of clinical course I had an African America patient age 72, female, a retired high
school teacher who was admitted for an Acute Diverticulitis with Perforation. She is diabetic and
had a medical and surgical history of diverticulitis, High Cholesterol, Non Insulin Dependent
Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM), Hysterectomy, and Scoliosis. She has been on clear liquid diet since
she was admitted then she was Nothing by Mouth NPO for the CT scan for that day. When I got

Bob is a person who was walking down the hallway. When he arrives at history class, he

this one to help him learn what he missed. The Dumping of Tea or the Boston Tea Party
was an event
in Boston, Massachusetts that helped spark the American Revolution. Before, Parliament imposed a
harsh set of taxes. The Sugar Act placed a small tax on sugar. The Stamp Act placed a tax on all
printed items. The Townshend Actsplaced taxes on everything on lead, paints, glass, and many more
things. The British also occupied Boston with troops called the Redcoats.

6. Midsummer Night Dream Creative Response Essay
The creative response I have written is a modern parody adaption of act two, scene two and act
three, scene two. The theme I have focused on is the complexities of love and the motif of love out
of balance which is portrayed throughout the play. I have specifically chosen these scenes to focus
on the romantic entanglement between Hermia, Helena, Lysander and Demetrius. In these scenes
Puck uses a magical love potion to create disturbance and chaos amongst these characters romances.
My creative response adapts act two and three scenes two by modernizing the play so that these
couples each live in their own house on the same street. I have designed the creative response so
that the only way these couples communicate with each other is through the use of letters. This
will mean that they never physical see each other during the adaption. I have also introduced a
mailman that represents Puck who acts as the mechanics of the play. Since all the characters never
see each other in the adaption, I was able to create disturbance and chaos in the romances by using
Puck to make the letters appear as if they were written by a different character. The difference
between the original Midsummers Night Dream and my adaption is that Puck places the love
potion accidently in the original, whereas in my adaption Puck, for whom is now the leading
character, intentional gives the letters to the wrong address and create confusion that satisfies his
entertainment needs. My adaption is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

8. The Worst Day Of My Life In A New School
DonВґt be afraid she had said, You ll be fine. My friend s words repeated in my head as if
someone poured glue on my ears and stuck the words on. A new school. A new reputation.
Nothing to be afraid of. Right? Wrong. ВЁAlexis!ВЁ my dad interrupts my dreary thoughts. My
bed squeaks as I sit up and sigh. ВЁWhat dad?!ВЁ The depressing thought leaving a bitter taste in
my mouth. ВЁTime for school!ВЁ he calls back. Right. ItВґs Monday. Also known as the worst day
of my life, or as my parents like to call it, the first day of my sophomore year. Usually i m excited
for the first day of school, but not this time. Not here at my new house. Not at my new school.
Not in my new town. Especially not here in New Jersey. I pull on my jet black jacket and say
farewell to my thin, ill, and frail mother and with my head and shoulders low, start my journey to
Leven Academy. The air is brisk and thin when I step out the door, my knees shivering as the
bone chilling wind hits my wobbly legs. I look up to see the gray sky hiding the sun from the
world. What a lovely day I mutter sarcastically to no one in particular. I look down at the cracked
sidewalk and adjust my backpack straps and continue to walk to school. When I reach the school
entrance, there are so many students that I HAVE to lift my head to avoid getting run into by the
hundred of teenagers. After the 4th period is over I head to my locker for lunch. Now everyone has
made mistakes in their life, but this mistake will haunt me until

9. Ezra Durkheim s The Division Of Labor In Society
Men must not cut down trees. There is a God. Change the world. No one kills from hatred.1
These are the words that Septimus mutters to himself while trying to embrace the traumatic
experiences of war. However, after over a century from WWI, significant majority of the world
is a participator in some form of a deadly conflict. According to Durkheim in The Division of
Labor in Society, the process of creating a developed society brings a pathological side effect of
chaos and disorder. From that perspective, the act of making the worldmodern is nothing else but
making it more disturbed and filled with conflict. Along with rapid social and cultural changes
around the world, the concept of modernity is no longer a form of improvement, but... Show more

The society, experienced by the events in the past, is strongly convinced of the stagnation within
the social structures. The possibility of social growth is compared by Ezra to the lottery, a
change one can only dream of. The powerful proof of such social incapability to improve is
offered by Du Bois. Despite decades, the negligence of education among black communities is still
as relevant as it was in 1903.4 This indicates that modernity, despite bringing radical and volatile
changes, to a large extent does not change the social hierarchy of the communities. This points to
Freud s argument on disillusionment. The society, in wake of worsening conditions, stops believing
in moral and ethical values.5 Hence, the lottery of social upgrade remains a dream nobody truly

10. Enkidu And The Impact Of Civilization
Enkidu and The Impact of Civilization The Epic of Gilgamesh was written between c.2150 1400
BCE in the ancient city of Mesopotamia meaning between two rivers . The epic is also considered
one of the worlds first great works of literature. From the beginning to the end of the epic, many
themes are expressed through the text but one in particular that stands out is the effect of
civilization on humanity. The effect of civilization on humanity was a reoccurring theme in the
story in regards to one of the main characters, Enkidu. Throughout the epic, many questions arise
around the idea of civilization, is civilization a good thing, or is it bad, what is gained though
civilization or what is lost? All these questions in regard to epic... Show more content on

Enkidu set everything in balance, if something like a snare or holes from civilization disrupted
the natural balance of the world, Enkidu would be the one to set things right. At this time in the
epic, Enkidu was in his purest, most innocent form. This way of living could easily be connected
to The Daodejing and what Daoist would call living with the Way . Enkidu was just another
smaller piece to a bigger play or picture, he was doing what his creator (Ninurta) made him for,
and that was to protect and be at one with nature. He was living with the way by living in the
simplest way possible which was running with the animals and living unaffected by civilization.
He did not put labels on any of the things around them because if he did so he would be limiting
his view of the world. Endkiu had no desires, no wants, no needs, except for the basic necessities
such as food and water. But even for those needs he did not worry, one could easily connect Enkidu
the the bible because he subconsciously knew that nature and god would some how provide and did
not take the time to worry about little things. Then one day a trapper complains about Enkidu to the
mighty king, Giliamesh, and he decides to send essentially a prostitute named Shamhat to seduce

11. An Hour Tone
The short story The Story of an Hour is written by Kate Chopin. This story is about a married
woman named, Louise Mallard, who learns about her husband s death, and through the poem she
discovers the positives of this incident. She gradually learns the restrictions that have been lifted
and the new opportunities that arise due to her husband s death, however, the story ends by her
getting a heart attack when she sees her husband still alive, the story throughout is written in third
person point of view. Furthermore, Chopin believes that marriagecan be very restrictive on woman
because of the dominant role the male plays in the relationship and this is shown through the tone
and literary features of the poem.
First, the tone of the poem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The metaphor in the quote storm of grief , presents a sorrowful tone because it displays the
tragedy and misery she experiences due to her husbands passing, however this tone lasts only
for a small part in the beginning in the story and soon changes into a tone of elation.
Furthermore, the symbolism in the line blue sky showing here and there through the clouds [...]
shows the hopeful tone as it conveys how the blue sky begins to emerge from the darkness of
the clouds. The clouds are used to symbolise the husband s death and how the grieve she
experiences due to this incident begins to vanish as the sky clears up. This symbolises the hope
that Mallard begins to attain, and this device is used to hint at the increased opportunities and
benefits she will gain by being alone and gaining independence. Moreover, the realistic tone is
later presented at the end of the story. The dramatic irony in the line of the joy that kills is a
powerful indicator that shows restrictions that are placed on woman. This line is ironic because the
readers know that she did not die because of the joy when she saw her husband but in fact the shock
and disappointment

17. Analysis Of James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues
James Baldwin was raised in poverty in Harlem where, at the age of fourteen, he became a
preacher in the Fireside Pentecostal Church. After high school he decided to become a writer
and with the help of the black American expatriate writer Richard Wright, won a grant that
enabled him to move to Paris, where he lived most of his remaining years. He wrote a variety of
novels mostly about the intellectual trials of black men in a white, racist society and homosexual
themes. James Baldwin wrote Sonny s Blues which was about the experiences he had with Sonny
and he also learned many new things from both of his parents. The intended audience is towards
people giving their loved ones a second chance. Sonny goes through addiction, he recovers from it
and he tries to change his life around.
James Baldwin uses darkness and light multiple times throughout this writing. Darkness and light
is used as a motif in Sonny s Blues. A motif is a recurring pattern used in writing that means
something. Darkness and light represent the good times and bad times. Light is the positive and
darkness is the negative aspects of life. In the beginning of the story James Baldwin writes about
not seeing Sonny in a while and starts to think about him while he is teaching. I stared at it in the
swinging lights of the subway car, and in the faces and bodies of the people, and in my own face,
trapped in the darkness which roared outside. This quote describes the way he feels about the city

As old as the poem is, it can be surprising that the popularity has withheld if not risen. The
contradictions that detailed throughout the poem lead the audience through a series of the
supernatural and large disbelief. Thus, Without someone to explain these accounts in person, the
interpretation is left up to the audience. One might be caught in the same thoughts as the wedding
guest when reading the poem, such as amazement, horror, and incredulity. Like this wedding guest

These personifications used by Coleridge are not unheard of; however, they act as a guideline to
describe the inanimate and animate. An Albatrossis a truly living creature in comparison to an
inanimate object such as a rock. The ancient mariner destroys this contradiction in his act of
killing the Albatross. Coleridge masterfully pushes the boundaries of what is actually living and
the supernatural, by granting life to the inanimate and death to the animate. Shortly, after the
death of the Albatross the extraordinary bad luck of the sailors changes for the better, and they
now capable of navigating themselves out of the treacherous ice caps towards the equator. Once
at the equator the men are now under new drastic circumstances, while on calm seas, they are
completely out of drinking water. Coleridge continues to personify the sea, The very deep did rot:

hop makes up a large percentage of adolescent music genre preference. It goes without saying
that this overwhelming presence of music in the lives of so many people will have a
psychological effect on American culture and our way of life. But how exactly is Hip Hop
affecting us psychologically and culturally? The effects of music videos on adolescences have
been the subject of controversy for decades. The common reason for the concern has been
appropriately summed by Arnett (a Research Professor of Psychology at Clark University in
Worcester, Massachusetts), who explained, women are used as props for the illusive life the
music video is portraying the artist to have. The concern that hip hop culture, as seen in music
videos, has become heavily influential on young people s views of sexuality. The concern about
mainstream hip hop music and music videos sexualizing women, in particular, is so omnipresent,
many can even be referenced as rape culture by embedded sexual violence in the lyrics being
disguised as pleasurable elements of hip hop. The Kaiser Family Foundation in the year 2001

21. A Fundamental Change Of Direction Is Not The Basic Fault...
In 1981 a fundamental change of direction was brought to light when the House of Lords
provided two judgements both concerning the meaning of recklessness. Lord Diplock stated
recklessness with an objective meaning in concern to the s1 and s2 of the Criminal Damage
Act 1971. In the last 30 years, recklessness has become one of the most discussed issues in
criminal law. However, in 2004 House of Lords gave out a decision in R v G and Another re
establishing subjective test to recklessness in concern to the Criminal Damage Act 1971,
successfully restoring the subjective test recognised before Caldwell. Prior to 2004 a landmark
decision of R v G and Another it is well known that there were two main contrasting
understandings of the term reckless within the criminal law. The Draft Criminal Code 1989
proposes that recklessness should be the basic fault element for all offences . The first came from
the case of Cunningham, in which the defendant stole a gas meter of a wall in order to steal
money and gas escaped. The offender was charged with maliciously under s23 Offences against the
person Act 1861. The Law Commission considered the term malicious should be avoided and
replaced with the term reckless in statutes, starting with Criminal Damage Act 1971. Cunningham
recklessness demanded the conscious running of an unjustifiable risk. This type of recklessness is
perhaps now referred to as standard recklessness, but it has in the past often been referred to as

Socialist Feminist Criticism: You Dropped the Bomb on Me, Baby
Feminism and gender studies have been described as having the ability to challenge literary and
culture theory to confront the difficult task of assimilating the findings of an expanding sphere of
inquiry (Contemporary Literary Criticism 567). This area of study has taken center stage during the
last fifty years, not only in our society, but also in literary criticism. Although the terrain Feminism
traverses can hardly be narrowed down to one single definition, the exploration of the genre can, at
times, be the most intriguing feature of the criticism itself. While feminism has undoubtedly

This definition of feminism situates sex and gender alongside the subjects of focus of the Marxist
theory, even going as far as to intertwine the two. While I, myself, have been trying to determine
how much I agree with the points that each individual theory makes, I have found that Socialist
Feminist Criticism has had the greatest impact on my writing, reading, and understanding of the
world.
It has been noted that in literature the languages of class, race, and gender are fused. This,
throughout history, and in our society specifically, is true. Every role that is developed in
literature is not natural or self evident butВ… is always articulated within a system or
relationshipsВ… predicated upon exclusions of gender, race, and class (CLC 592). Every
character is described within a system of a culture that is based on stereotypes, specific gender
roles, and societal issues. Cora Kaplan makes her most significant point when she suggests that We
must redefine the psyche as a structure, not as a content, so that we can move toward a fuller
understanding of how social divisions and the inscription of gender are mutually secured and given
meaning. Through that analysis we can work towards change (Kaplan 609). An understanding of
the issues that Socialist Feminist criticism tackles can help a reader determine why the literature

24. Kentucky s Role During The Civil War
Kentucky s Role during the Civil War The world has faced the dangers of war almost since the
beginnings of time, and America in the mid 1800 s was no different. Despite the Union having
won its freedom from England during the Revolutionary War less than a century before, problems
were brewing internally within the young and rapidly expanding country. As slavery boomed in the
southern states, the North grew less and less content with this state of affairs. It is said that to
southern whites, the Republican victory in 1860 presented an immediate danger to the slave
owning republic that had existed since 1776 (Henretta, 2012, p. 418). Southerners were not ready
to lose one of their most valuable commodities, slaves, which they feared would happen under the
leadership of Abraham Lincoln, although he promised to safeguard slavery where it existed but
vowed to prevent its expansion (Henretta, 2012, p. 420). Unheeding of Lincoln s vows, and hoping
to preserve the individual state s rights, radical southerners chose the dangerous enterprise of
secession (Henretta, 2012, p. 418). This secession began first in the state of South Carolina, when
on December 20, 1860 a unanimous vote was taken to dissolve the union now subsisting between
South Carolina and the other states (Henretta, 2012, p.418). This idea of secession spread quickly
to the surrounding southern states, resulting in five other states declaring secession within the

Moreover, the Persian army demolished buildings, stole Greek treasure, and reduced the Athens
to rubble when they seized the Greek city. That would have perhaps shocked Sun Tzu the most
since he believed that in the practical art of war, the enemy s country should be left untouched
(8). The rule was not to destroy the conquered cities if possible. (8). It was better to keep
besieged cities intact as it would avoid the large cost of expenditure. Sun Tzu would have likely
opposed much of the generalship shown by the Persians. The general needed a great variation of
tactics and an understanding of the configuration of the country (30). Also, there were some
major faults pointed in the Art of War that were exhibited by the Persian commanders such as
recklessness and vulnerability (31, 32). This was apparent when Xerxes fled after the loss at
Salamis. It showed the cowardice of the ruler and the breakdown of the invasion. In this regard, it
was obvious that Sun Tzu would have condemned many of the Persian actions since it went against
the readings of his book. The rulers and generals of the Persian kingdom made decisions that Sun

Similarly, Cascio (1991) suggests that the combination of the following five requirements along
with a performance based pay system can also have a very significant impact on performance.
The first of these is skill variety, where a wide variety of tasks or procedures is available to the
employee. Next is task identity, where the employee can clearly identify the output of a task as a
product of their efforts. This is followed by task significance, where the work is recognised as
important and meaningful. After this comes autonomy, where the employees have a major say in
work planning and execution. The final requirement is feedback, where employees receive
constructive advice or criticism on their performance.
The rewards offered can be extrinsic such as wages, incentives and bonuses, or intrinsic such as
job satisfaction, an internal feeling of worth and a sense of well being on the job.
O Neil (1998) suggests six minimal criteria for the design of a performance based pay system. The
first of these criteria is that the reward system should be self funding, that is, the performance
increases should as a minimum offset the cost of the rewards provided. The second criterion is that
the distribution of the rewards must be consistent, fair and justifiable. In addition reward plans must

29. Court Observations In The Courtroom
On July 6, 2016, I was in department five for the court observation. Between 8:30 until around
11:30, there was not much happening within the department. Since the Judge had to be in three
different courtrooms during the morning, department five was just waiting for the judge to come
in. The people in the courtroom were the people who were waiting for their arraignment hearing
in front of Judge Lord. There were three different defense lawyers who were representing
differently clients who were waiting for their arraignment hearing. Nadim, I hope I am spelling
her name right, was the lawyer from the office. She was very helpful on explaining what was
going on and the different cases she had on her desk. When Judge lord was finished in the other
departments, the cases on the docket went by quickly. In a short amount of time the courtroom was
empty and we left to go to lunch. Most of the cases, which were heard, were follow ups on past
trails. There were a handful of cases, which involved fines owed and programs needed to be
complete. But, for the most part the cases which by quickly and the judge left the courtroom to go
into other courtroom to hear more cases. The one thing which surprise me... Show more content on

30. Racial Barriers in Grace Paley s Short Story Samuel Essay
Racial Barriers in Grace Paley s Short Story Samuel
It is hard to distinguish the difference between which race is more important. One might ask
themselves if white is superior over colored skin. There have been numerous struggles and much
success in the fight towards equality between the races. Although many large steps have been made,
there are still existing racial barriers. One particular struggle is whether or not people of different
races should interact with each other. Should Caucasian adults interact with young children of
color? A question that becomes especially critical when children are putting themselves in
potentially dangerous situations. This moral debate is portrayed in Grace Paley s short story,
Samuel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the short story, Two men and others looked at the four boys jumping and jiggling on the
platform and thought, It must be fun to ride that way (191). Men normally have influence to
control dangerous situations and instead of using this power to persuade the boys to come into a
safe place, they allow the children to continue to endanger their lives. The women on the train
became very angry when they look at the four boys. Most of them brought their brows together
hoping the boys would see their extreme disapproval (191).
In the story, one woman in the subway car saw that three of the boys were Negroes and the
fourth was something else she couldn t tell for sure. She was afraid that they would be fresh and
laugh at her and embarrass her (191). It seems that the women are scared of even confronting the
barrier that separates her from the children. The racial wall is so intimidating to the women that all
they could do is sit and watch the young boys in fear of their safety.
As time passed, the racial begun to slowly deteriorate. Sometimes, motherly instincts will overcome
anything, and in this case it is to persuade the women to stand up to the children. The lady who
was afraid of embarrassment saw the boys jerk forward and backwards and grab the swinging guard
chains...She stood up with determination and went to the door (191). Allowing her maternal

31. Utah National Park
Between Friday 15th April and Sunday 17th April I visited Zion National Park in Southern Utah.
Although the park s expansive 229 miles of open land differentiate it from the traditional museum, I
soon began to notice several similarities between the way in which the site had been managed by
the National Parks Service and the conventional format of museological spaces.
This first of these came to my attention while riding the free shuttle bus that runs between popular
locations within the park. During the fifteen minute journey from the Zion Canyon Visitor Centre
to the Angels Landing trailhead, a recorded audio tour guides visitors through their surroundings
using several different narrators, with each one focussing on a specific subject. The first of these
was a Native American man who spoke in vague terms about his people s millennia old claim to the
land while reinforcing positive stereotypes related to environmentalism and sustainability. While the
shuttle was introduced as a means of reducing traffic in the area and restor[ing] tranquillity to Zion
Canyon , there was a slight irony to the fact that the narrator was espousing the virtues of the the

The book Steelheart, by Brandon Sanderson, begins the story with a prologue, to provide the

bringing my attention when I read the words I ve seen Steelheart bleed (Sanderson, 7). The
prologue from David s point of view, had plenty of detail around the bankscene, making it seem
like I can visualize the entire bank. The detail given throughout the prologue gives a realistic feel
to it. When they introduced Steelheart (the main antagonist) in the prologue, I felt suddenly

newspapers or scraps of information. Eight notebooks filled with my thoughts and findings. A
larger notebook with my indexes. (Sanderson, 57). It was astonishing to see how many notes
David had written about Epics. This quote showed me the amount of difficult work and
dedication David put into researching about Epics. Although I speculated that David was serious
only about Steelheart, it turns out Steelheart is not the only target, as David plans to eliminate
all the Epics. When Nightwielder arrived in Diamond s weapon shop while David, Abraham and
Meghan were still there, David s description of Nightwielder instilled suspense and a little bit of
fear in me. This creature was Steelheart s right hand Epic, the source of the darkness that cut
Newcago off from the sun and stars. Similar darkness stirred on the ground around him, sliding
toward shadows and pooling there. He could kill with that, could make tendrils of that dark mist
turn solid and spear a man. (Sanderson, 103). This made me understand more about who
Nightwielder is and why he is a formidable foe. The entire scene became intense since David,
Abraham and Meghan knew that if Nightwielder found out they were here, they would not be alive.

a Confederate community that had to continue with the grinds of everyday life. The Daily
Richmond Enquirer is a great source to use to understand the events and attitudes of daily life in

Introduction During this semester I traveled with the North Carolina State University s
Environmental Technology and Management program ET 201 class, under the direction of Dr.
Teresa Litzenberger, to Little Rock Creek in Raleigh North Carolina. Little Rock Creek is a
small stream located in southeast raleigh near the Walnut Creek Wetland Center. Located in a
watershed of approximately 705.879 acres, the creek looks like an upside down uppercase L from a
map perspective. The creek floor is sandy with a few small rocks (cobblestone) in areas. The stream
has plenty of tree cover to provide shade. However, the lack of large trees encourages the curves
in the creek to widen which allows the water to slow down and create pools throughout the creek.
According to Title 15A of the North Carolina Administrative Code, Rule .0302 contains the
classifications for waters located within the Neuse River Basin (15A NCAC 02L .0312). Little
Rock Creek, however, is not classified and therefore follows Rule .0301 which simply states that it
should carry the classification of the stream to which it is a tributary (.
Assessment and Methodology The Rapid Stream Assessment Technique (RSAT) uses data
measured in the field to determine a stream s condition. These data fields include channel stability,

Mr. Hunt has disappeared.1 The connection between Nixon and the scandal was undeniable, as
the investigations continued to happen more and more information was revealed, and the tie
between the burglary and the Republican Party grew. The five men who had been arrested had
been found with bugging and eavesdropping devices, different types of cameras and around
$5,000 dollars all in big bills. The money has now been traced. It turns out to be part of $114,000
which found its way from the Nixon headquarters to the Miami bank account of Bernard L.
Barker, one of the five men arrested at the Watergate.1 Journalists were writing up a storm during
this time, finding more and more ways to peg this on the Republican Party and Nixon, making
them have no way out besides admitting they were guilty. Despite denying that they had no way of
knowing how that money got to Mr. Barker, the people had no other choice then to believe them
guilty, stirring up more problems for Nixon s committee. From reading the articles that were
published in the newspapers during this time, it seems as though that the people were captivated by
what was happening and disgusted with the outright denial that the Republican Party lawyers and
spokesmen were sticking too. It is now clear that Republican denials of responsibility for the

38. The Reality Of Television Programs
Today s television programs are very different from the television programs that were shown over
fifty years ago. The shows in the past portrayed a modest conservative family. These families
consist of a hardworking man and a stay at home woman, married raising their own biological
children. As the years went by, television has started to portray a more liberal definition of what a
familymeans in today s world. Because of today s TV shows, there are different ideas about what a
family should look like.
Families on TV are not always a married couple containing one man and one woman raising their
own children. We now have many shows that support gay rights when it comes to marriageand
being parents. The hit comedy Modern Family has the funny loveable characters of Mitchell and
Cameron. They adopted a baby girl from Vietnam. The series also shows the wedding between
the two men, as well as the comical outcomes when they try to raise their daughter the best way
possible. As Greg Graffin wrote in his article Anarchy in the Tenth Grade It is also a shining
example of how easy it is to follow the party line and champion a bandwagon mentality which
only motivates me to keep fighting for originality. (3) This is seen on the show The Fosters , a
girl named Callie is placed in a foster home with a lesbian couple and their other adopted children.

protagonist in the story is a 20 year old named Bigger Thomas, a black boy; who lives in a poor

With a threat to the black community, political power may rise to a higher extent, making the
population double the violence of chaos and corruption. A sense of courage is needed to eradicate
violence and to end the influence of whites dominating black communities. The New York Times
article explains more in depth about how the black rights matter movement contributed to the
complexities of black political culture and how urban naturalism can be changed for a greater
extent. Life has value, but death is not simply another thing that happens to human beings. Bigger
s attitude gradually changes from not having a true meaning of life to having a true meaning of
life. Reference to Elle Hearn s quote, who is a strategic adviser, said that, It s not just about
changing laws, hearts, and minds, it s about actually changing action. From his perspective, he
actually means to change the course of humanity for the better. In the novel, Bigger realizes that an
action of changing life s meaning into something better helped him to change his own life.
Although he couldn t acknowledge that he was an educated person, he still had the time to correct
his mistakes and to put off death by living for others. The importance of the book and the article
helped to draw attention to the main theme, which is reflecting the behavior of the white society
and revealing its true meaning. For Bigger, his social attitudes and beliefs prevented him from

varying from two to seven days, usually precedes the onset of jaundice. The most prominent
symptoms in this phase are fever, headache, muscular and abdominal pain, anorexia, nausea,
vomiting and sometimes arthralgia. Hepatomegaly and leukopenia are often present during this
period. In typical cases the urine becomes dark, and the stools pale before appearance of yellow
discoloration of the mucous membranes and appearance of jaundice about ten days after onset of
the general symptoms. Fever and most of the general symptoms usually subside within a few days
of jaundice, but in severe cases both general and abdominal symptoms may become further
aggravated at this phase. Jaundice is often accompanied by itching and sometimes by urticarial or

44. Theme Of Morality In Trifles
Ethics and morals are two different things although quite similar. Ethics relate to the essence of
right and wrong according to the law. This is exhibited in the pre meditated murder that we see
in the play Trifles. Morals are related to personal standards. What may be morally right for one
person may not be morally right for another person. Morals are based on a person s upbringing,
their religion, and their personal beliefs. In Trifles, Sweat, and The Storm, Susan Glaspell, Zora
Neal Hurston, and Kate Chopin use symbolism to show, develop, and illustrate the theme of ethics
versus morals. Susan Glaspell uses the bird to justify the murder of Mr. Wright in Trifles.
Within the play there is a broken bird cage. This cage is symbolic of Minnie Wright s marriage.
She lives in the middle of nowhere with John. This isolation breaks Minnie Wright s spirit, just
like the cage is broken. In the story it says, She used to sing real pretty herself (986). Since
Minnie is out in the country with no one but John, that bird is her lifeline to the outside world.
She lives through that bird. John s oppression of Minnie, and the fact that he cold heartedly
killed her bird takes away her desire to sing, or dance, or dress pretty. Arthur Waterman states
She was figuratively strangled by John (3). In turn, Minnie literally strangles John with a rope in
his sleep. The women don t always find this action morally or ethically right. Mrs. Peters, in the
beginning, said But, Mrs. Hale, the law is the law (Glaspell 984). After finding out about the
bird, and pondering the situation among themselves, the women all agree with Minnie Wright.
It was justifiable homicide in their eyes, thus making it ethically and morally right in their eyes.
Hurston s Sweat uses the snake as symbolism, and to justify Delia s actions after Sykes is bitten.
In the story, Delia is a faithful Christian woman who is married to a devil like man named Sykes.
Hurston associates the snake to Sykes. The snake symbolizes Sykes representation of the Devil.
Sykes knows that Delia is scared of snakes. Delia tells Sykes, You know how skeered Ah is of
snakes. Course Ah Knowed it (1). Sykes not only torments Delia, he also cheats on her openly.

The company was penalised with a $1.5 million refund to 7,000 affected customers as well as
$50,000 contribution to Financial Counselling Australia. An involvement of an external compliance
consultant was also compulsory to ensure consumer credit laws are complied with by reporting
back to ASIC (Ong Janda, 2016).
Issues involved in this case include governance issues, as Nimble were inconsistent with the
recognition of activities from customers (Ong Janda, 2016). They also lacked in governance in the
sense that protocol was not properly complied with by not making appropriate inquiries to
customers (Ong Janda, 2016). They also failed to comply with consumer credit laws as evident of
the need for an external compliance consultant (Ong Janda, 2016).
Both companies failed to meet proper corporate obligations. As leaders of their company, the
higher ups of Nimble and Enron should have been the positive model figures and encourage proper
and scrupulous behaviour in order to carry out the proper procedures and protocols. This behaviour
bred harmful activities and enabled carelessness within the

48. The Difference Between The Women Situation Of Ireland From...
Introduction
The aim of this report is to compare the difference between the women situation in Ireland from the
independence till the present day, how it changed during those years.
One of the biggest impacts to Irish society in the past 50 years has been the changing the role of
women, with more females participating in the workforce and more in professional positions and
this has caused relationship and family dynamics to shift.
Until the last few years of the twentieth century Ireland was the most sexually repressed country in
Europe, where women were classed as the second type citizens and the Catholic Church ruled
virtually unchallenged. Church and state maintained that women should hold a certain morality,
particularly relating to areas of sexuality and reproduction. As a result, until relatively recently, Irish
women s issues remained largely ignored and therefore unremarked upon.
(Irish Constitution 1922)
One of the questions facing the Cosgrave government in 1922 with the establishment of the Irish
Free State was the role of women in the new State. The 1916 Proclamation of the Republic had
claimed the allegiance of every Irishman and Irishwoman and guaranteed equal rights and equal
opportunities to all its citizens . All had their hopes dashed. Both governments led by Cosgrave in
the 1920s and Fianna Fail governments led by de Valera in the 1930s enacted legislation depriving
women of a number of rights.
In 1924, the government proposed to exempt all

49. Essay on Review of Film The World is Not Enough
Review of Film The World is Not Enough
The greatest spy the world has ever known returns for yet another adventure. Once again the
British secret service has to save the world from certain chaos and destruction and only one man is
good enough for the job, that man is Bond…James Bond . We all know the format, but we
love it. The title is The World is Not Enough, and is the final Bond film of the twentieth century,
finishing the millennium with the usual mix of guns, girls and gadgets.
The film utilises exotic locations around the world and yet manages to make London look good.
The Dome at the time of filming was innovative and hadn t yet been reduced to a joke by the
general public. The sets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film fits into the usual Bond criteria. It has explosions, guns, gadgets, girls (foreign girls of
course), chases and cars. There are many close escapes; the best being when Bond escapes from
the nuclear facility in Azabaizan. He is propelled out of the secret tunnels followed by a huge
fireball.
The stunts and special effects are staggering. How did they get Bond to fall from an exploding
balloon on to the Dome and bounce down as if was a perfectly normal activity? How did they
blow up an entire mountain? At the climatic ending Bond escapes from the villains lair with a girl,
whilst blowing the whole place up! The stunt people and special effects people must have
seemingly magical powers. No other film character or secret agent can outclass Bond!
Director Michael Apted has created a film that proceeds at a good pace with a strong,
straightforward story line, and yet also includes interesting and sometimes stunning locations. It is
his first action/adventure film, previously making his name as director of Gorillas in the Mist a
true life, documentary style film. He directs the scenes well and controls them with skill, in turn
bringing out the best in Pierce Brosnan, the cool shaken, not stirred Bond and the evil Renard,
(Robbie Carlyle).
Throughout the film, we are reminded that

50. Incarnational Ministry Essay
The incarnational ministry approach to New Age adherents should reflect a servanthood mentality,
which is evident of Lausanne s paper. The foundational roots of the Lausanne Movement dates back
to the historical conference in Edinburg (1910) and Berlin (1966). The Lausanne Movement surface
under the leadership of the evangelist Billy Graham during the First International Congress World
Evangelization. The gathering of this movement continue to produce believers from different part
of the earth to bring about a united front under the function of the Holy
Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who guarantees God s redeeming work in the lives of believers.

The movement that orchestra a forum would not have been accomplish without the Holy Spirit.
The LOP noted the movement of the forum with a theme promoting a new vision, new heart, and
renewed call. In other words, metaphorically speaking, a year has four season and in each season;
there is a reason for change. Therefore, LOP is parallel to the incarnation ministry of God.
Incarnation means that God the Son took on human nature that Jesus was God in human flesh,
which develop into a mission to reach God s people. Furthermore, the LOP adhere to the
different models serving a purpose to exalt the name of Jesus Christ drawing people to the
existence of God. Coincidently, LOP recognize certain apologetics models such as: personal
testimonies, spiritual welfare, and heresy rationalist were portrayed as fabricating the truth of
personal experience, practices, and beliefs, indicating a falsehood of ministry. God is not in the
business of falsehood, but silicifying disciples in the like manner of Jesus Christ into the world.
God s ministry has to be about truth at all times with a productive approach as a witness of Jesus
Christ and making a difference in a non believer s life. The approach LOP mention is to be
carefully examine. The LOP mention the

51. Spiders In The World Research Paper
What about all the spiders in the world?
There s a well known factoid that claims you re always within a few feet of a spider. Is this true?
Arachnologist[3] [4] Chris Buddle wrote a good article on this question; as you might expect, it
s not literally true. Spiders don t live in the water,[5] so you can get away from them by
swimming, and there aren t as many spiders in buildings as in fields and forests. But if you re
anywhere near the outdoors, even in the Arctic tundra, there are probably spiders within a few feet
of you.
Regardless of whether the factoid is precisely true or not, there are an awful lot of spiders out
there. Exactly how many is hard to say, but we can do some rough estimation. A 2009 study
actually measured the total mass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spider distributions are discrete, not continuous,[9] and some areas have more spiders than others.
What if there happen to be a lot of spiders near you?
Although three spider feet is only 9 inches.
In 2009, the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant found themselves dealing with what they
called an extreme spider situation. An estimated 80 million orb weaving spiders had colonized the
plant, covering every surface with heavy sheets of web.[10] The whole thing is detailed in a
fascinating and horrifying article published by the Entomological Society of America.[12]
What was the total force of gravity from all those spiders? First we need their mass; according to
a paper titled Sexual Cannibalism in Orb Weaving Spiders: An Economic Model, it s about 20
grams for males and several times that for females.[11] So even if you were standing next to the
Black River Wastewater Treatment Plant in 2009, the pull of all the spiders inside would still be
only 1/50,000,000th that of the Sun.
No matter which way you look at it, the bottom line is that we live our lives surrounded by tiny
spiders on a world completely dominated by a gigantic star.
Hey, at least it s not the other way

52. Science Of Greed
For this TED talk discuss I watched the first video which was called the Science of Greed by
Paul K. Piff. The central argument for this talk was revolved around the behavior of how people
of wealth, the people with power, or the people who thing they are better see themselves in
conjunction with the rest of the world. Although some of the points that were touched upon
during the course of the video were things that I have more or less known of still somehow
managed to hit me and completely shock me. For example, during the talk Paul K. Piff spoke of
a research project that researchers and he had done and the research involved a game of
Monopoly however the game was fixed with one player having a greater advantage over the other.
The results of the study were that the players who had the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The elephant being that in our society we have become accustom to the presence of greed because
there is really no way to combat it. Within our country a top percentage of the population has a
majority of wealth and power and reserve it for themselves while everyone below them have to
squalor for some sort of change towards the pursuit of a better life. However it is just those at
the top who are the greediest people, it is everyone in fact because in our daily lives we in some
shape or form do thing and make decisions that have a greater effect on us rather than someone.
A majority of the time people put themselves and other second, it is almost a second nature to
mankind. People have always been in the presence of greed throughout their lives because it
almost gives a purpose, meaning that it ignites a fire within us that is fueled by the constant
want for materialistic items as a way to show we have power or are successful. Thus overall the
greedier we are the more materials we will attempt to obtain in order to secure our place at top to
show everyone else we are better than
