This document describes a session on piloting the Karuta Open Source Portfolio. Karuta is an open source ePortfolio tool created by HEC Montreal, Kyoto University, and other partners. The session provides an overview of Karuta, discusses high impact ePortfolio practices, and allows hands-on practice with four example Karuta use cases: an AAC&U assessment portfolio, a management diploma portfolio, a co-curricular learning portfolio, and portfolios used at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. Attendees can explore the different use cases from the perspectives of a student, instructor, and administrator. The session also covers integrating Karuta with Sakai via LTI and planning a portfolio implementation.
