Definitions
✤ Elementary and Secondary Education Act 1965: The most
extensive bill passed through President Johnson’s
government fighting the “War on Poverty”.
✤ ESSA: The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was
signed by President Obama on December 10, 2015.
Guaranteeing equal opportunity to all children and correct
distribution of funds and programs for the community. This is
made possible by educators, communities, parents &
students across the U.S.A.
✤ LEA: Local Education Agency or a School district, providing
services to Schools within a region.
✤ Mission of the Department of Education: “To promote
student achievement and preparation for global
competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and
ensuring equal access. (U. S. Department of Education,
2016)
✤ No Child Left Behind (NCLB 2001): Title II, Part A,
Improving Teacher Quality State Grants, to increase the
academic achievement of the students, assist the Schools
and improve the education by preparing high qualified
teachers. The same Bill develops standardized testings and
flexible accommodations for students K-12.
✤ Steak holders: Anyone who has invested in the welfare and
successor a School and/or program & it’s members.
The Roles & Agencies
✤ Community Based and Social Services Organizations: Mission and
purpose is to facilitate data that is census oriented and guided in conjunction
with community leaders, local agencies and advocators. The Organization also
assist the stakeholders onto creating letters, projects and proposal for grants.
✤ NICHY or People with Disabilities: Under the NCLB and the IDEA act. An
office that works with students that have disabilities and helps the citizen onto
finding programs that can assist with health care, transportation, assistive
technology, housing and education.
✤ Office of State Support for Immigrants: Under the ESSA (Every Student
Succeed Act of 2002) , serving the needs f the immigrants no matter age,
language, tribe, belief or color. Helping those who have difficulty with English
& citizenship.

✤ Office of Elementary and Secondary Education OESE:
The Office is designated for the Elementary & Secondary
Education to promote academic excellence, educational
development and equal treatment for all citizens. “…to
improve the quality of teaching and learning by providing
leadership, technical assistance & financial support.”
(OESE, 2016)
Thus assisting all matters that is related to elementary and
secondary education.
Directing, coordinating policy for programs that are
committed to equal access, improve education & financial
assistance.
“In recognition of the special educational needs of low-income
families and the impact that concentrations of low-income families
have on the ability of local educational agencies to support adequate
educational programs, the Congress hereby declares it to be the
policy of the United States to provide financial assistance… to local
educational agencies serving areas with concentrations of children
from low-income families to expand and improve their educational
programs by various means (including preschool programs) which
contribute to meeting the special educational needs of educationally
deprived children””

1965).

2015
✤ U.S. Department of Agriculture: School districts &
Schools that choose to take part in the lunch program
get cash subsidies & USDA foods. Also known as the
National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
✤ Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA):
Provides leadership to the stakeholders & citizens that
are in need for learning English as a Second
Language & obtain academic success.

✤ Office for the Promotion of Academic Excellence Student
OPAE : A P.R. Agency that works with fundings & grants for the
students that have academic excellence and need assistance
for any type of extracurricular programs within the P.R.
Department of Education platform. Examples include: Phys. Ed,
Math, Science, Art, Internships, Music & for College Readiness
or College grants.
✤ Club OAJ: Agency that establishes and channels the needs ,
thoughts and skills with young students to provide the services
of our program in an effective , fast and dynamically manner in
the subjects of moving arts. Developing community and student
initiative on educational sports, collaborative projects, arts,
health and volunteering through the local organization.
✤ State Educational Agency: Under the Dept. of Education,
the (SEA) request flexibility for the students of Elementary &
Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) under the
(NCLB),”…to improve educational outcomes for all
students, close achievement gaps, increase equity, and
improve the quality of instruction.”(ESDE, 2013) Including
the 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico & the
Bureau of Indian Education.
Promoting appropriate standards of education and accountability
procedures for the children. Improving graduation rates, college
readiness and creating a protective environment for low income
children, ESL learners and/or immigrant students.

quality assessment, (4) priority school, (5)
reward school, (6) standards that are
common to a significant number of
States, (7) State network of institutions of
higher education, (8) student growth, & (9)
turnaround principles.”

Department of Education, 2016) ✤ No Child Left Behind (NCLB 2001): Title II, Part A, Improving Teacher Quality State Grants, to increase the academic achievement of the students, assist the Schools and improve the education by preparing high qualified teachers. The same Bill develops standardized testings and flexible accommodations for students K-12. ✤ Steak holders: Anyone who has invested in the welfare and successor a School and/or program & it’s members.

The Roles & Agencies ✤ Community Based and Social Services Organizations: Mission and purpose is to facilitate data that is census oriented and guided in conjunction with community leaders, local agencies and advocators. The Organization also assist the stakeholders onto creating letters, projects and proposal for grants. ✤ NICHY or People with Disabilities: Under the NCLB and the IDEA act. An office that works with students that have disabilities and helps the citizen onto finding programs that can assist with health care, transportation, assistive technology, housing and education. ✤ Office of State Support for Immigrants: Under the ESSA (Every Student Succeed Act of 2002) , serving the needs f the immigrants no matter age, language, tribe, belief or color. Helping those who have difficulty with English & citizenship.

  • 7. ✤ Office of Elementary and Secondary Education OESE: The Office is designated for the Elementary & Secondary Education to promote academic excellence, educational development and equal treatment for all citizens. “…to improve the quality of teaching and learning by providing leadership, technical assistance & financial support.” (OESE, 2016) Thus assisting all matters that is related to elementary and secondary education. Directing, coordinating policy for programs that are committed to equal access, improve education & financial assistance.
  • 8. “In recognition of the special educational needs of low-income families and the impact that concentrations of low-income families have on the ability of local educational agencies to support adequate educational programs, the Congress hereby declares it to be the policy of the United States to provide financial assistance… to local educational agencies serving areas with concentrations of children from low-income families to expand and improve their educational programs by various means (including preschool programs) which contribute to meeting the special educational needs of educationally deprived children”” (Section 201, Elementary and Secondary School Act, 1965).   • 9. ✤ U.S. Department of Agriculture: School districts & Schools that choose to take part in the lunch program get cash subsidies & USDA foods. Also known as the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). ✤ Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA): Provides leadership to the stakeholders & citizens that are in need for learning English as a Second Language & obtain academic success.
  • 11. ✤ Office for the Promotion of Academic Excellence Student OPAE : A P.R. Agency that works with fundings & grants for the students that have academic excellence and need assistance for any type of extracurricular programs within the P.R. Department of Education platform. Examples include: Phys. Ed, Math, Science, Art, Internships, Music & for College Readiness or College grants. ✤ Club OAJ: Agency that establishes and channels the needs , thoughts and skills with young students to provide the services of our program in an effective , fast and dynamically manner in the subjects of moving arts. Developing community and student initiative on educational sports, collaborative projects, arts, health and volunteering through the local organization.
  • 12. ✤ State Educational Agency: Under the Dept. of Education, the (SEA) request flexibility for the students of Elementary & Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) under the (NCLB),”…to improve educational outcomes for all students, close achievement gaps, increase equity, and improve the quality of instruction.”(ESDE, 2013) Including the 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico & the Bureau of Indian Education. Promoting appropriate standards of education and accountability procedures for the children. Improving graduation rates, college readiness and creating a protective environment for low income children, ESL learners and/or immigrant students.
