2. Overcoming not being in a physical space.
Due to current world events, the United Kingdom is in a lockdown and
has been for some time. This means that me and my podcast
participants are not able to meet up in person and record in one place,
another alternative would have been to rent a studio out as to make
the audio more professional. This again, could not be done due to the
lockdown.

3. Overcoming not being in a physical space.
(Solution)
Luckily me and the participants speak regularly on a application named
Discord which connects us all together and allows us to talk. Although,
the audio will not be up to the level as other podcasts due to us not
having professional equipment, it means that we all have a way of
speaking together and being able to record the podcast, I will do this by
creating another account and adding it to the call to record what we
say by using OBS, due to me not having a microphone for my PC.

4. Audio Mixing.
Due to me not being able to go to college and use their resources, I do
not have access to Audition, which is what I used to create a pre- set
for my audio mixing to guarantee a cleaner and clearer listening
experience. I know I will have to do a lot of mixing and correction to the
audio as again, me and my participants do not have professional
equipment, meaning the audio will not be to the best level but sadly,
that is out of our control due to the circumstances.

5. Audio Mixing. (Solution)
Luckily, the editing software that I use, has an inbuilt audio correction
section, no where near the level of Audition but a basic mixer that will
help make the audio sound a little bit better and bare able to the
audience. This is also convenient as I will be using this software to edit
down the podcast so it is all in one place for me rather than having to
move the files around and risk messing it up. The editing software I use
is DaVinci Resolve.

6. Music.
I will have to look and find music that is royalty free as to avoid
copyright infringement and also is soft to listen to as I want the
audience to feel calm due to the music they listen to when the podcast
is starting and ending, this is where I am going to put the music. I also
may have to make some myself if I can not find any to use. This means
that I will not able to use the majority of music I listen to personally as
they are all owned by companies meaning I do not have the right to use
them and may get a copy right strike on my products.

7. Music. (Solution)
Luckily for me, I have permission from and independent artist to use his
music, I have used it before and I like how it sounds so that will
probably be getting used. But I will also make some music of my own
by using a website called BeepBox. I will use this to create a simple beat
to put at either the end of beginning of my podcast. I know of this
website as I have experience with it from using it in another project I

8. Podcast Structure.
From listening to other podcasts, I have found that in some, the
podcasts go way off topic and that makes the audience lose interest, I
will need to find a way to combat this as I do not enjoy listening to
podcasts when this happens and at the same time, when podcasts
don’t structure themselves, they have spaces where no one speaks as
they run out of topics or things to talk about and there is just an
awkward silence, I am not a fan of this and do not want this in my

9. Podcast Structure. (Solution)
To combat all these problems, I will take inspiration from my favourite
podcast, Strong Opinion Sports. The host makes notes as sort of
guidelines to make sure he is on track and doesn’t divert the subject
too much, it is also to make sure he always has something to talk
about. He also takes breaks when he has nothing to say or needs to
think about something to say, I will use the script/ guideline method as
I think it will benefit my podcast and if any of my participants go off
subject, I will have to tell them to come back to it and to carry on with

10. Editing. – Solution.
During editing, I will have to make sure to cut out any boring
conversations but also have to make it sound natural at the same time,
I will also have to make sure that there are no breaks that make it
sound like we do not have anything to talk about, this will make sure
that the podcast flows better and gives the audience something to
listen to at a constant pace.
