ELPCO designed this anonymous survey in August/September 2018 to learn what residents think about the options to reconstruct the 900 S / 1100 E / Gilmer Drive intersection. These results incorporate feedback from 116 responses.

Survey Publicity Efforts
3. This survey was designed by the East Liberty Park Community Organization (ELPCO) to get resident feedback on the
final designs for the 900 South / 1100 East / Gilmer Drive intersection (the "5-Way Stop"). The survey is anonymous and
the city did not have any role in developing it. You can only complete this survey once.
If you are familiar with this project, skip ahead to the seven questions. For more information, read more below.
------------------
In early 2019, Salt Lake City will reconstruct 900 South from Lincoln Street (950 East) to 1300 East. The project will redo
the road base, make minor utility improvements, repave in concrete and it will take 6 months to complete
The 900 S project also involves the redesign of the "5-Way Stop" to include a bike lane on the south side of 900 S and
enhanced pedestrian crossings. Throughout 2018 the city has held design workshops on various proposals. In May
2018 the city road-tested three" pop-up" designs at the intersection, including a roundabout and a closure of Gilmer
Drive. For more information, visit the city's 900 S Reconstruction project website:
https://www.slc.gov/transportation/2018/03/20/900-south-reconstruction-project/
In late July the city presented the survey and traffic data collected during the "pop-up" process. You can download the
full report here: http://www.slcdocs.com/transportation/Project/900SPopup/SummaryReport.pdf
And on August 27 the city unveiled its preferred design (the roundabout), and a back-up design if funding isn't available
(Gilmer Drive exit onto 1100 E). The roundabout would cost an additional $500,000 that SLC Transportation proposed
funding through the impact fee fund on developments. The budget decision will be made by November/December of
2018. You can view these designs here:
