2. Healthcare Regulation Of The Pharmaceutical Industry
Healthcare Regulation The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most heavily
regulated of all industries and Pfizer is a global US based pharmaceutical company
and in the pharmaceutical industry companies are regulated by the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA), World Health Organization (WHO), and Medicines and
Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Each of these regulatory bodies
focus on the manufacturer, drug sellers, and prescribing to physicians process.
(World Health Organization). In accordance to the Internal Revenue Service, the US
firms must meet government regulatory requirements. The drug company must get
market approval and show it safe for human consumption through animal and human
testing and prove it is effective for the illness and its intentions to alleviate. The
scientific community established a four phase method to establish effectiveness. First
phase is animal and toxicity studies, second phase is the investigational new drug
application filed to test small numbers of human and allow transportation of
unapproved drugs. Thirdly, a large scale trials conducted with thousands of patients
proves the product is effective against a specific disease. Human trial subjects must
provide consent for the experimental group. Lastly, a post approval marketing testing

competitor products) (Internal Revenue Service, 2015) These measures must be in
compliance with the FDA in

Educational institutions have a responsibility to dissuade students from pursuing

Firstly, educational institutions should allow the students to dog any field of study

4. Analysis Of What Dreams May Come
What Dreams May Come Vincent Ward s What Dreams May Come breathed
brilliant life into the tragic story of a family pulled apart by death and the journey
one man makes through heaven and even hell to save his soul mate, based from
the book, What Dreams May Come by Richard Matheson. This movie is boldly
beautiful and a rollercoaster of feelings that brings you to the emotional edge but
sadly doesn t quite get us all the way over. In the beginning of the movies, events
occur rather quickly. Chris and Annie, unbelievably effective and heartbreakingly
performed by Robin Williams and Annabella Sciorra, meet as there boats collide into
each other on a lake; from there the two fall in love, become married and have two
children. The children... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His idea in this particular story is that heaven is built in a state of uncertainty. Those
who are there see and experience that things and people that they wish to see or do.
The meaning behind thus, is that Heaven is becoming who you want to be (Ebert).
As Albert says in the film Hell is a place for those who don t know they are dead.
Souls who do not accept death or unable to comprehend it are those who end up in
hell. In the movie, as Chris travels the road to hell, he sees that the road is paved
with faces who are bitter and damned. Along the way he also hears the voice of his
father who is played by german director Werner Herzog (Ebert).
Even though the film ends in the common obligatory happily ever after fashion to
which doesn t appeal to the rest of the movie, it is nevertheless a fantastic film. It is
truly a wonderful work of art that translates the book in accurate proportions, which
seems to be rare in the hollywood industry. Like other works of Ward s the film ends
with Chris and Anne seeking their destiny. The cathedral in the ending scene, similar
to the other awing images in the film, is breathtaking, however it is upside down. The
film wonderfully explores the ideas of destiny, death, human perception, man s
wisdom and nature. The digital artwork and incredibly touching performances;

5. Black And White Magic In Santeria
Santeria is built on sympathetic, homeopathic magic, imitative. It revolves around the
laws of contact and similarity.
Contact magic occurs when physical contact is made with an object belonging to or
associated with the subject of the spell. Long after the contact with the object, the
effect is thought to remain. For instance, if an object belonging to the subject, such as
a hair brush or a scarf, is obtained, then the owner can be influenced. This is usually
thought to secure love or something that belongs to the subject.
The similarity form of magic can be simply demonstrated by a voodoo doll. In
Santeria, a wax figure or a stone, has a spell or curse cast upon it. The simulated
figure is stabbed, tortured, and so on. When a stone is used for such purposes, it is
named after an enemy. Then that stone is kicked along the street, all the while, the
stone s namesake is thought to receive the same treatment ... Show more content on

Black magic is used when one desires to harm to another. White magic is used
when one seeks something innocent, like love. Though the latter appears harmless,
the difference between black and white magic is artificial. It is known that a demon
s intent is to gain and secure the worship of the Santeria people above all else and
seemingly performs acts of good or kindness in order to receive that worship.
For this reason, Santeros attempt to decipher between good and evil magic, but some
believe that all Santeria magic is evil and exists only by demonic

7. Analysis Of Oliver Sacks s The Man Who Mistook His
Wife...
In Oliver Sacks book, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for A Hat, Sacks tells us
about one man, Jimmie G, who has Korsakoff s syndrome. Korsakoff syndrome
(KS) is characterized by dense anterograde and retrograde amnesia. There is often
a temporal gradient to the retrograde amnesia, with earlier memories more readily
recalled than recent memories. Executive functioning has also been found to be
impaired in KS (Maharasingam, et al., 2013, p. 501). Korsakoff syndrome is most
often attributed to the deficiency of thiamin, which can happen in individuals who
have, or have had a severe drinking problem. Jimmie G is an older gentleman;
mentioned by Sacks as kind and intelligent. At first glimpse, one could even
wonder why he was in the hospital at all. After a short talk, however Sacks
discovers that Jimmie does not remember anything that has happened in his life for
the last 25 years. In fact, he still believes that he is a nineteen year old young man
who is in the Navy, with his entire life still ahead of him. Oliver Sacks shows
Jimmie a mirror; he in shock and confusion does not understand why he is a grey
haired old man. Sacks, goes on to explain that after Jimmie left the Navy in 1965,
Jimmie lost the structure and routine that he needed and took to alcohol as a coping
mechanism. As a result Jimmie developed Korsakoff s syndrome, which has
completely stripped him from all of his past memories, and the inability to form any
new memories as well. Even when Sacks leaves the room
8. Organizational Control
Organizational control is the systematic process through which managers regulate
organizational activities to make them consistent with expectations established in
plans, targets and standards of performance (Kuratko, 2001). These organizational
expectations are a collection of goals and accountabilities represented in the budget,
which help establish performance metrics, document actual performances, allow
comparison between the estimated and actual performance, and allow for corrective
actions (Jones George Hill, 2003). Measures of financial performance are those ratios
against which actual performance can be meaningfully measured against the
expectations of the budget. These measures are objective measures of performance,

There are enough assets to pay short term claims, but the stock performance lags
the S P by almost 2/3 raising the question in my mind if they have too much non
performing assets on hand which need to be reevaluated. The quick ratio answers
the question of whether an organization can pay claims without selling inventory.
Inventory is not necessarily worth the amount represented on the books, and
removing it from this calculation gives a better view of whether or not an
organization has liquid assets available. If a company has too much of its liquidity
tied up in inventory, it will be dependent on selling that inventory to finance its
operations and will have a low quick ratio (Motley Fool). Leverage ratios measure
the use of debt or equity to finance operations, with the use of debt becoming
problematic if profits cannot cover the interest on the debt (Jones George Hill,
2003). Two common such ratios are debt to assets ratio and times covered ratio.
Debt to assets shows to what extent the organization is financed with debt, with a
lower number being more favorable. With a low number, an organization and its
investors can be more confident a company can weather difficult times. Real
Networks, as discussed earlier, has a debt to equity ratio close to zero, largely
because there is close to no debt this is a company which can weather some difficult
times, however while the debt remains low, the equity is decreasing as well

10. Inclusion For Children With Disabilities
Children with disabilities are among the most vulnerable and most excluded in the
world. Their rights are often violated. These children are often hidden at home or
placed in special institutions. As a result, these children are missing out on education.
They grow up apart from their families and their parents fear that their children with
disabilities will be mocked. Parents also fear that they will not have a chance to take
part in society. Inclusionis complete acceptance of all students. Loving parents want
the best possible education for their daughter or son and when hearing your child will
be in a classroom with students with disabilities, parents may worry that this will not
help them reach their full potential. Inclusion in schools is controversial and
confusing topic for many people especially for those who do not understand what
inclusion is. Without inclusion there would be no sense of belonging within the
classroom community. Inclusion is not the same as integration or mainstreaming.
Inclusion is a term that expresses commitment to educate children to their appropriate
potential. This usually means placing students with disabilities in the same
classrooms as students that do not have disabilities as much as possible and in these
classrooms there would be a special educationteacher present at all times in addition
to the regular teacher (Muccio 2014). Inclusion also consists of providing disabled
students the necessary accommodations outside of the classroom.
11. The Progressive Era Was A Political Movement
The Progressive Era was a political movement aimed towards eliminating the
influence and corruption of corporations in politics, and making the California
government more of a democracy. This took place at the beginning of the 20th
century and started in the local government of big cities such as San Francisco and
Los Angeles. At this time corporations held monopolies and these corporations, due
to their size and power, were able to control much of the economic policy of the
time. James Madison, a federalist and writer of Federalist #10, believed that humans
were too ignorant and/or too selfish to govern themselves. The Progressives worked
to shift the power with political reforms such as nonpartisanship, office block ballots,

In fact, Of more than 19,000 elected public officials in California, less than 300 are
elected in partisan races. From this one can conclude that, the Progressive Movement
was a huge influence on California government and politics. Madison would have
been against this because he believed that humans would choose a candidate that only
helps themselves, instead of common wealth. Another reform made during the
Progressive Era was primary elections. Primary elections are elections held to elect
candidates to run for office. In a primary election a party nominee must receive more
votes than the other nominees in that party. These types of elections are also used
to select presidential candidates. Before primary elections political parties chose
candidates during caucuses. Madison would have preferred caucuses because
politicians are aware of what goes on where as citizens may not be as informed in
politics. This reform gave voters more say in who they wanted in office and, again,
gave less power to the political corporations who could drive a certain politician s
or party s campaign and get who they wanted elected into office. The Progressives
wanted more power in the hands of the people. The Progressives gave voters the
power of direct democracy through initiatives, referendums and recalls. Initiatives
are citizen made proposals and amendments that can be put on ballots during
elections; they are the most frequently used out of the
12. Comparison of William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and...
The two short stories A Rose for Emily and The Yellow Wallpaper are two very
similar but at the same time very different. The main characters Emily Grierson,
from William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily , and the narrator, from Charlotte
Perkins Gilman s The Yellow Wall Paper, are both in the same boat that many
women were placed in the late 1800 s and the early 1900 s. Both of these two
stories were written in a generation that women were looked downed upon and
made to feel less important than males. I feel these two stores are similar in terms
of where women stood in society at that time and how society affected emotional
downfalls in both of these main characters. These women are both the protagonists
of each of those two stories who both go from being extremely depressed and
lonely to absolutely insane. However, these stories are written in totally different
point of views which creates two totally different outlooks. A rose for Emily is
written in third person while Yellow Wallpaper is written in first person. Also, the
characters are different in terms of that they have two completely different
personalities. The two authors ideas in both of these stories focus on how women are
looked down upon in different situations and generations in society at that time of
history. The Yellow Wallpaper is written in first person, which kind of gives it a
personal dairy feel into the characters mindset that is suffering from post partum
depression but the main
13. Importance Of Communication Skills
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
When dealing with the organization and execution of such teaching in classrooms
we find teachers who may or may not have the skills necessary to communicate
with their students, skills that can facilitate or preclude fulfillment of the teaching
proposal. Teachers are expected to be fluent and able to communicate effectively in
language. They should be able to convey their thoughts with clarity and confidence
both in written and oral forms. They are also expected to be active listeners while
providing the necessary response. They should also be capable of giving and using
technology during presentation confidently. No teacher will succeed if they don t
have good communication skills. Clear, concise, and to the point the better your
communication skills are, the easier your lessons will be. There are many different
types of classes available to help some teachers who may need help improving their
skills.
CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
With this skill, teachers should be able to think in a critical, creative, innovative, and
analytical manner which includes the ability to apply knowledge. Elements that they
must possess under this aspect are the ability to identify and analyze complex
situation as well as making evaluations that are justifiable. They should also have the
ability to expand and improve thinking skills, to provide ideas and alternative
solutions.

Advantages and Disadvantages
There are both advantages and disadvantages of the matrix structure; some of the
disadvantages are an increase in the complexity of the chain of command.
This occurs because of the dif ferentiation between functional managers and project
managers, which can be confusing for employees to understand who is next in the
chain of command. An additional disadvantage of the matrix structure is higher
manager to worker ratio that results in conf licting loyalties of employees. However
the matrix structure also has significant advantages that make it valuable for
companies to use. The matrix structure improves upon the silo critique of functional
management in that it diminishes the vertical stru cture of functional and creates a
more horizontal structure which allows the spread of information across task
boundaries to happen much quicker. Moreover, matrix structure allows for
specialization that can increase depth of knowledge allows individuals to be chosen
according to project needs.
This correlation between individuals and project needs is what produces the concept
18. Critical Analysis of Mrs. Mallard s Emotions in The Story...
Write a critical analysis of any aspect of The Story of an Hour which you found of
interest and significance.
Kate Chopin s `The Story of an Hour is a short yet complex piece describing the
feelings of Mrs Mallard. This story is overflowing with symbolism and imagery. The
most prominent theme here is the longing for freedom. Chopin focuses on unfolding
the emotional state of Mrs Mallard which can be separated into three stages: quickly
moving to grief, through a sense of newfound freedom, and finally into the despair of
the loss of that freedom.
`The Story of an Hour was written in the nineteenth century and during this time
highly restrictive gender roles forbade women to live as they saw fit. Kate Chopin

When she goes in her room alone, she unveils her true emotions. The setting shows
comfort and indicates that she feels safe. The open window symbolises her new

place that she is able to look out at the world. The metaphor delicious breath of rain ,
the peddler , a distant song and the sparrows are all symbolical of spring which
represents new hope for a better life for Mrs Mallard.
Mrs Mallard s awkward attitude after learning of her husband s death establishes an
irony somebody who is really happy in marriage will not enjoy nature in peace and
have mixed emotions; the person will feel genuine grief upon hearing of the death
of her husband. Here, Mrs Mallard s reaction portrays the extent to which her thirst
for freedom was strong. Kate Chopin allows us to visualise the moment that Mrs
Mallard is able to shed the bondage of marriage: free, free, free!. She feels liberated
through her husband s death. Much emphasis is laid on her joy upon finding
freedom there would be no one to live for. The author also points out that she knew
that she would weep again.....folded in death. This only highlights the fact that it is
not an expression of love but seems more like a duty that

The third phase took place in the 20th century under the structure s final owner Jay

Surveying the grounds of Ash Lawn Highlands, the students developed a drawing for

21. Affects of Frontal Lobe Damage Essay
Damage to the frontal lobe cortex of the brain can cause difficulty in everyday
activities. The frontal lobes role in people s behavior includes executive processes,
language, emotional expression and movement. Ryan Godfrey has difficulties in
some areas of executive processes due to the damage tumors caused in his brain.
Ryan and others with frontal lobedamagecan benefit from knowing these deficits by
taking steps to reduce their impact. The brain tends to compensate for damaged parts
and a faith in God brings power to overcome deficits. Thus, behavioraldifficulties for
frontal lobe damaged patients are only a guideline not a box, for nothing is

months later discovered the unopened mail was very important and some needed an
asap response. Thus, Ryan does seem to have some sort of difficulty than others with
understand what is relevant, and remembering to get back to things. There has also
been research conducted on the frontal lobes function in processing relevant and
irrelevant information.
Humphreys and Kumada s research results were that people with frontal lobe damage
showed difficulty in selecting task relevant information while ignoring task irrelevant
(Humphreys amp; Kumada, 2002). Sometimes these people tend to get confused on
what is important and what are not, as most people occasionally do. Some frontal
lobe damage people struggle more with relevant information than others do. Frontal
lobe lesions only appear to affect the ability to gate or inhibit irrelevant stimulus
information (Gershberg, Jurica, Mangels, amp; Shimamura, 1995, p145). Research is
usually just a bunch of theories, or experiments that have not been proven wrong yet.
The tendency for frontal damage is that a part of the brain has been damaged or
removed that helps with these functions.

Not only did the American public hope to be able to rely on and trust their federal
government, but they also desired strong management of foreign affairs. During the
Presidency of Jimmy Carter, America faced many blunders overseas. One particular
high profile issue was the Iranian Hostage Crisis where, Iranian students stormed the
U.S embassy in Tehran and took 53 Americans hostage, and the attempted rescue of

President Lyndon Johnson had championed the liberal movements of the late
twentieth century and continued the work of Franklin Roosevelt in an attempt to
build a great society . He pushed through Congress countless pieces of legislation,
more than the New Deal, designed to create equality in America including the
Medicare and Medicaid Acts, the Elementary and Secondary School Act, and the
Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Davidson, et al 873). The American public seemed to
accept Johnson s programs as a drastic yet positive step for the nation. However, as
time passed, many middle class Americans began to view Johnson s steps as
relaxed liberal policies that allowed lawbreakers and members of the lower class to
live off of their hard work. The feeling that they were being taken advantage of led
many Americans to question the effectiveness and legitimacy of Johnson s great
society . One of these middle class Americans wrote a letter to Nelson Rockefeller,
the Republican governor of New York, stating that she was discriminated against in
favor of dope addicts and welfare cheats (Document 3). The feelings in her letter
exemplify the anger of the middle class when dealing with Johnson s great society
and more broadly, the failure of the liberal state to bring about real change or equality.
Additionally, the programs that Johnson set in place, while they did lower the
unemployment rate initially, eventually left
23. Questions On Sales And Marketing Funnel Issues
If you re unfamiliar with the term, a marketing funnel is the process that leads a
prospective customer through several stages on their way toward purchasing your
product. It goes something like this:
A lead becomes a prospect, who becomes a customer, who becomes (if you re lucky)
a repeat customer. The whole thing probably sounds daunting, and it kind of is: Sales
funnels have been around for a very long time, but they still give even modern,
technologically savvy businesses trouble.
We re going to discuss seven basic suggestions for dealing with sales and marketing
funnel issues, and recommend some tools to help you streamline and improve your
own conversion process. With just a bit of patience and some attention to the finer
details, you ll have your conversion process humming along like a well oiled machine
in no time.
Strategy 1: Target the Right Leads
It stands to reason that any concerted effort towards building a better sales funnel
needs to begin with building better leads. If you re not pursuing the people most
likely to respond to your product or service, then what s this all for?

24. Daisy Buchanan In The Great Gatsby
In the blistering winds of Antarctica, there lays a creature that relies on true love to
survive. The penguin, is a flightless bird that has aquatic capabilities and is
unbothered by the frigid temperature of its habitat. Interestingly the penguin is one of
the few animals that are monogamous; In fact, they can die from a broken heart after
their chosen mate dies. These animalistic characteristics seem to be portrayed
throughout Gatsby s character, he acts in manner as if Daisy were to not lovehim, he
would die. In the book The Great Gatsby By F.Scott Fitzgerald, the main character
Jay Gatsby becomes obsessed with the character Daisy Buchanan and her love. He
changes his entire persona to make a man that would fit best with her. Although

(Keats) is the beginning line of Johns Keats poem. Initially Gatsby wants to be just
like the rich people. He begins works for a rich man on his yacht, changes his name
and takes a new identity, but later on he changes his mind. He realizes that this
upper class world was not meant for him, that this world was cruel. In the end he
would see just how much he does not belong in this world when he is shot in the
back, ironically when he is enjoying the riches of his stolen wealth. One out of the
ordinary thing he does is host parties, but never enjoys them. It may seem to the
reader as though he hosts them just so he can fit in with the crowed, but in his
point of view he hosts them for a completely different reason. In reality he hosts
these extravagant parties in hopes that maybe one day Daisy, his one true love,
would come. Just like how he had bought the house right across from her so he
could stay away but not too far. He wants so badly to be apart of the upper class,
but the only reason he wants it is because he thinks it will come with Daisies love.
Jordan Baker, the pro golfer says Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be

Plunkitt of Tammany Hall
1. Honest Graft and Dishonest Graft When Plunkitt was tipped off about something
in the city or someone wanting to built a park or something, he sees the opportunity
and he takes it. He buys up the land before they do. When they see that they are
going to need the land, he sells it to them at a much higher price than what he paid
for it, giving him a nice profit. That is honest graft. Several politicians are accused of
stealing dollars from the state s treasury, this is an example of dishonest graft.
The condemnation commissioners came along and found piece after piece of land
under the name George Plunkitt of the Fifteenth Assembly District, New York City.

about books being a hindrance and the only way to last is to know everyone in your

7. On the Shame of the Cities In Lincoln Steffens, The Shame of the Cities, Plunkitt
says that he does not know how to make decisions. He talks about the Philadelphia
Republican Gang and Tammany Hallbeing almost the same. Plunkitt thinks he is all

no worse than 1835 as a class. It just means that the old timers had nothing to steal,
while the politicians in 1905 were surrounded by temptations.
8.Ingratitude in Politics Plunkitt talks about how he was back stabbed by one of
the people he took in hand, The McManus. His friends told him that this would
happen but he did not believe them. McManus ran ahead of Plunkitt in their own
district. He later broke his ties with him. When a district leader is voted in it is like a

26. Analysis of Criminals in the Films M and Dead Man
Walking
M and Dead Man Walking present two distinct sorts of criminals: one who is
mentally unstable and another who denies culpability in a last ditch effort to save his
life. Although both criminals are guilty of heinous crimes, M s Hans Beckert arouses
more sympathy than Dead Man Walking s Matthew Poncelet despite the fact that
Beckert killed countless children and Poncelet is responsible for the murderof a young
couple.
In M, Hans Beckert has been kidnapping and murdering small children in a German
community. Throughout the film, Beckert s identity is unknown and an entire
community comes together in order to find and stop him before he kidnaps and
murders another child. Although Beckert s actions are heinous, it is revealed that he
cannot help himself from kidnapping and murdering children as he claims that he
often blacks out during the course of the crime and that he often hears voices. It is
clear that Beckert is suffering from a mental illness and that he cannot be held fully
responsible for his actions. Sympathy for Beckert is also created due to the fact that
he was not given a fair trial before he was sentenced to death. Beckert is apprehended
by the crime lords that run the town Beckert has been committing his crimes in and
criminals take it upon themselves to be judge, jury, and executioner. While they
maintain that they know the legal system inside and out and that turning Beckert
over to the authorities would not provide the community with the justice it

Abraham Joshua Heschel once said Racism is man s gravest threat to man the
maximum of hatred for a minimum of reason. Heschel is demonstrating that there is
a lot of hate for such miniscule reasons. This belief is popular theme within in
literature. In Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird a community s morals and beliefs
regarding race, gender and compassion determines that justice is a privilege for a
few rather than a right for all. While some characters are immaculate, morally
educated, and believe that every person should be reverenced, and treated equally,
some believe that it is correct to be racist and prejudice to others.
Atticus believes every person deserves respect. He believes that no matter what race

29. Compare And Contrast Sumer And Babylon
Impact of Fertile Cresent Cultures
Sumer and Babylon
Both, the people that belonged to Sumer(Sumerians) and Babylon (Babylonians) were
part of the early/ancient Mesopotamian civilizations; however since Sumer was the
first civilization on record in Mesopotamia and started off much more early than the
Babylonian civilization, it couldn t have adapted anything that the Babylonian
civilization created. However the other way around. Babylonians did adapt some
things about the Sumerians and had some similarities in their culture, but they still
stayed original in their way.
First off, the Babylon empire was much more expanded, bigger, than Sumer due to the
Babylonian ruler, Hammurabi, who is famous for his ruling and Hammurabi s code;

Another governmental similarity would be that they both consisted of a lot of city
states in Mesopotamia.
Both civilizations fell apart but made a comeback which led to eventual downfall
again. Sumer s destruction was caused by the extreme drought, which as we know,
left salt deposits that destroyed the crops in Sumer, after that, it got conquered by the
Akkadians. Time later, Sumerians made a comeback, taking back their Land,
expelling the invaders, but that did not last long since Amorites came and invaded
the region.
A similar thing happened to the Babylon empire, it was invaded/conquered by the
Kassites in 1595, staying in power for 400 years but then got overcome by the
Assyrians. The Babylon Empire, Neo Babylonian empire then rose back to power
in 626 BC, led by the son of King Nabopolassar, Nebuchadnezzar II, he was
responsible for leading the built of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Unfortunately,
it did not take long for the Neo Babylonian empire to fall after Nebuchadnezzar II
died, when the Persians invaded
30. Symbolism In The Story Of Paul s Case By Willa Cather
Darkness of Bright Red Carnations
The color red means different things to different people; distress, love, or even lust.
When the hue is placed in the form of a flower, the meaning may shift moderately. A
red carnation is worn to symbolize admiration, love, or affection in a compassionate
situation, however when worn in a more distraught venue, the carnation could
embody more meaning of death or dying. An analysis of the red carnation in the story
of Paul s Case reveals the underlying symbolism meant to interpret the narrative.
In the story of Paul s Case by Willa Cather, Paul is observed as the uneducated,
poverty lined boy in a severely distressed situation. Paul is seen by his teachers as a
disturbance and a sheer nuisance in the classroom. During the review of his
suspension, the teachers all form their crude opinions of his situation, and glare at the
red carnation dawning the button hole of his shirt. This ... Show more content on

Paul puts an end to the carnation, which has already began wilting away, by
burying it into the snow bank. The end of the carnation seems to be a metaphor for
Paul s life as well. His burying of the carnation symbolizes the burial of himself, the
end of the carnation, the end of his life, and the end of the life he always wanted to
create for himself. He recollected the imagery of the flowers seen previously,
along with his perception of life, And it was a losing game in the end, it seemed,
this revolt against the homilies by which the world is run (p. 106). It seems as
though the wilting away of the carnation had the most symbolism towards Paul s
life than others. The red carnation has many meanings to many different people,
however to Paul it was all he had. The idea of death is reliving to Paul, although he
quickly begins to think of all the things he will never see. It is a sentimental moment
in that it gives closure to the story and concludes the end of the red

News Media Effects
American culture has changed so much in the past century. Looking back to the
1900s there wasn t technology like we have today. Today with all the technology and
the capabilities of getting breaking news faster allows us to input that information in
our minds and it eventually pulls people into the conflict. There are pros and cons
about whether we should get news faster or is the media adding fuel to the fire with
stories. When you look at the word responsibilities you often tend to think that it
holds someone accountable whether its you, the media or a different country. When
you look at social responsibilities from the media you end up with a 50/50 chance of
that information being true.
My next question is does the information media have social responsibility? Some may
say no they don t have social responsibility. As for many of us we tend to believe
they do have social responsibility. They are responsible for what they are
publishing. Let s look at an example of this. Let s say I was to go downtown and
make up a story. I then make a big scene to gather as many people as I can. Then as
the people are listening and watching I precede to tell them the local county
officials are spending the tax payer s money on alcohol and private parties for
themselves. At this point I honestly don t know if they do but I heard it from a
friend of mine. So, by hearing that I assume its true since that person is my friend.
Well in this case its not true but I end up getting arrested for defaming the officials.
Now look at the media. They can publish an article making claims that the
presidential campaign is doing illegal activity. Do they get arrested for making false
claims? The answer is no. Why is that? That s not very fair if you think about it.
If the media is going to publish millions of stories just because they have journalists
reporting back to them then that holds them accountable for the story. They are
taking the word from a person which they don t know if that journalist is tweaking
the story to make it seem bigger then what it was. If the media decides to base their
decisions upon their scouters or what they hear then

Managing innovation effectively can turn companies around dramatically, allowing
companies to be ahead of its competitors. Introducing new technologies and products
will help businesses attract customers and provide a unique selling point. It can also
help cut costs along with raising profits. Effective innovation allows for new
opportunities and may lead companies getting a larger market share and may even
break companies into new markets. Good innovation can also increase employee
motivation and moral creating an efficient working environment.
However having a good idea doesn t mean a company is innovative, making the
idea work effectively so that it brings value to the business is successful
innovation. Furthermore innovation can also propose risks and if not carefully
executed innovation may harm the business. New ideas need to be carefully
executed after in depth research, if this is not done correctly a new idea is likely to
fail incurring unnecessary costs and falling profits. It may also result in competitors
taking advantage of a failed idea making a business vulnerable losing its clients as
they may begin to look elsewhere.
Ultimately innovation is very important it is a strategy that needs to be implemented
with a lot of thought and analysis.

The Panama Canal has been called one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The
canal is a manmade river, that s measured to be 50 miles long. The Panama Canal

location of Panama was the Isthmus of Panama, which is where two oceans connect.
Building the Panama Canalbrought realization of a dream to life. This became a

Introduction: Pseudonymous Writing in the Ancient and Present Times
Pseudopigrapha is a type of writing where the author uses a different name for several
purposes. It has been practiced in numerous educational disciplines. In the earlier part
of history, there are two types of pseudonymous writing that was employed. The first
type is when the author uses an assumed name to remain anonymous and the second
type is when an author uses the name of another author. The pseudonymous writingis
widely used for varied reasons, mostly with honest intentions. The second type of
pseudopigrapha is known as forgery, and through the course of history, its definition
and function has evolved. In ancient times, forgery is an honorable practice of writing,

However, several factors have to be considered. The considerations are needed to be
put in place is to put forgery in the accurate context. In the ancient times when
copyright laws are not yet enforced, forgery is an acceptable practice. Taussig argued
that committing forgery is not rooted in fraudulence but inferred as an honorable
convention. Further, Ehrman synthesized the use of forgery to empower the
teachings of an influential individual, synonymous to Paul s clout in the early
Christianity. Having these occurrences in mind, we can then maintain the
trustworthiness of the Deutero Pauline Epistles in the same value as we put on the
epistles that were penned by Paul himself. Learning these cogitations, it is important
that we look at the message of the epistles and its significance in the formation of the
faith tradition. Although the abovementioned epistles are written by different
individuals (other than Paul), they have augmented the theology that was taught by
Paul. The epistles were written in the context of the audiences that they were
intended, because of this, forgery did not connote any negative feedback on its
teachings. In this light then, it more important to focus on the message that Deutero
Pauline Epistles convey than to look at

Macbeth is a physically powerful man with a kind heart because of this Lady
Macbeth worried that it would get in the way of their plan to kill the king. This
worry caused her to call upon the power of darkness, saying that she would commit
the murder herself if she did not have the womanly feelings she would receive
afterward such as guilt and remorse.

41. The Gospels Of The New Testament
The Themes of the Four Gospels
Introduction
The Gospels of the New Testament are ancient biographies focused primarily on an
individual s character. Biographers told their audiences about events they thought
would present the person s character effectively. These biographies focused on the
circumstances of the individual s birth, what other s said about him or her, and the
person s own actions and statements. The Gospels complement one another as they
present four different aspects of Jesus earthly mission.
The Gospel of Matthew
Matthew presents Jesus as the Jewish Messiah, the Son of David In addition, the
Fourth Gospel introduce a greater degree of testimonies that Jesus is the divine Son
of God and prophesied Messiah. The Synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke
consist of many parallel material whereas 90 percent of John s gospel is unique.
The Gospel of Mark
The two major themes in the Gospel of Mark are Jesus, the Son of God and Jesus,
the King. The book of Mark introduces Jesus is to an audience of Roman Christians
in chapter one and verse one. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Then, Mark gives
evidence for proclaiming Jesus as the Son of God in the next few verses by quoting
the scripture from the book of Isaiah, the Prophet. It says,
As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: A voice of one calling
in the desert, Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him (Mark 3:4).

42. African American Stereotypes in the Film Industry
African Americans have long endured demeaning and misrepresentative images
within the film industry and American society as a whole. In the early 20th
century, an abundance of films depicted an idealized vision of life in the south, in
which blacks were happily subservient to their role as the property of their white
masters. The roles of black characters were also portrayed by white actors in
blackface. Blackface was a form of theatrical makeup used to represent an image of
a black person and was employed as a means to portray negative images of African
Americans and to showcase them in an inferior light. Fortunately, the use of
blackface dwindled as it was considered extremely offensive and derogatory, although
the practice still remains in use today though very limited due to the rightful stigma
surrounding it. However, the negative portrayals of African Americans in filmdid not
end there and continued for a long time after. African Americans were still confined
to roles which often portrayed blacks as incompetent, child like, hyper sexualized,
and criminal. Even the more positive roles offered to African Americans provided
limited options and reinforced the belief that the proper social position for African

Epicureanism is a philosophical theme taught by Epicurus, this theme that stresses the
goal of a joyful and a pleasurable life. In the Hellenistic Age, epicureanism was
extremely influential. Epicurus, the founder of Epicureanism, is best known for his
different personality, unlike all the other ancient philosophers, excluding Socrates (O

became known as the philosophy of the Garden. The wisdom theory, epicureanism, is
a form of the hedonismtheory that describes different types of pleasure, different

is a philosophical theory that is a form of hedonism. Epicurus once said, That the
only thing that is intrinsically valuable is one s own pleasure; anything else that has

44. Origins of the Pelopponesian War Essay
The Peloponnesian war involved Greece s two most prominent city states, Athens and
Sparta, between 431 404 BC. Both Athens and Sparta held numerous alliances,
causing essentially the entire ancient Greek world to be engulfed in war. There were
many events that sparked the feud between the Athenians and the Peloponnesian

Thucydides was perhaps one of the most prominent statesmen and generals of
Athens and is a highly regarded source for the Peloponnesian war. After being
convinced by the threat that if they did not help Corcyra that Corinth and therefore
the Peloponnesian league would absorb its fleet, Athens became allies with
Corcyra . Athens came to Corcyra s aid when Corinth attacked a fleet of ships off a
group of islands known as Sybota. The war of Sybota officiated that Athens and
Corinth were fighting, causing tensions to rise between Athens and the
Peloponnesian league. This anguish between Corinth and Corcyra was a long term

problems arose in Potidaea.
The city of Potidaea was both a member of the Athenian alliance and a Corinthian
colony,
