A U.S. Study by Leo Burnett Decodes What Brands Need to Know About the Future of American Entrepreneurship
CHICAGO – A new study by global advertising agency Leo Burnett, “The Sharing Economy: Where We Go From Here,” reveals the surprising and unspoken realities of the sharing economy in America and what’s truly happening in it. The research provides insights into how people perceive, and participate in, the sharing economy.
“The sharing economy is taking on a life of its own, but it is much more nuanced than we realized,” said Chief Strategy Officer Mick McCabe, Leo Burnett USA. “Our research reveals the psychology and the behaviors of sharers that can help guide brands including why people share and why they do not.”
Sharing has more texture than what’s largely reported in the media. People are chiefly motivated by practical needs, convenience and the ability to save or make money. A nominal 35 percent of people are primarily motivated to share by altruism, community and the environment.

Advertising and media are converging. The results will disrupt how companies must deploy their marketing efforts. Marketers, and their agency partners must converge their media efforts by combining social, corporate content, and advertising reach --or risk connecting with the fleeting customer.
Owned and earned media are vital to campaigns, helping to amplify and spread brand messages through the complex paths consumers follow across devices, screens and media. Advertising, or ‘paid’ media, has traditionally led marketing initiatives both online and off-. But advertising no longer works as effectively as it once did unless bolstered by additional marketing channels.
While consumers distinguish less and less between these channels, marketers remain specialized in one medium at the expense of the others. Rather than allow campaigns to be driven by paid media, marketers must now develop scale and expertise in owned and earned media to drive effectiveness, cultivate creative ideas, assess customer needs, cultivate influencers, develop reach, achieve authenticity and cut through clutter.

한국이 미국·중국에 비해 공유경제의 출발이 늦었지만, 공유경제 플랫폼에 참여하는 개인이 조합원이 돼 이익을 가져가는 '조합형 공유경제 플랫폼'을 도입하면 추격이 가능하다는 주장이 나왔다.

이 자리에서 주제 발표를 맡은 조산구 공유경제협회장은 "우버 같은 공유경제 플랫폼 업체가 상장을 통해 돈잔치를 벌이는 한 편에선 이 플랫폼에 참여한 드라이버들이 상대적으로 낮은 소득에 시달리는 문제가 생기고 있다"고 지적했다. 그러면서 "한국은 (공유경제에 있어서) 이미 출발이 늦은 만큼 플랫폼에 참여하는 개개인을 주인으로 하는 조합형 모델을 도입하면 급성장 가능성이 있다"며 "블록체인 기술이 발전하면서 플랫폼 조합주의의 구현도 가능해졌고, 이를 적극 활용해야 한다"고 말했다.

구자현 한국개발연구원 연구위원은 책임 있는 혁신을 강조했다. 그는 "공유경제 산업의 상당부분이 자영업, 소상인 등 상대적 취약 계층의 이해와 맞물려 있어 혁신의 과실을 이들과 함께 나눌 방안이 제도 개선때 함께 연구돼야 한다"고 말했다. 박지순 고려대 법학전문대학원 교수는 "공유경제 활성화는 '플랫폼 노동자'라는 새로운 노동 계층을 낳는다"며 "이들의 근로자성을 어느 정도로 인정할지 사회적 합의가 선행돼야 (공유경제 분야에서) 도약이 가능할 것"이라고 말했다.
"공유 경제 활성화 위해 인프라 공유 필요"
이어진 패널 토론에서도 다양한 지적이 나왔다. 김동호 중앙일보 논설위원은 "올들어 시행 중인 규제샌드박스 심사가 신사업에 대한 또 하나의 관문이 되고 있다"며 "신사업에 대해 중국처럼 '선 시행 후 규제'까지는 못하더라도 규제샌드박스 문턱을 더 낮춰야 한다"고 지적했다.
양희동 이화여대 경영학부 교수는 "공유경제가 활성화하려면 물류 같은 인프라 공유가 필요하다"며 "정부가 할 일은 경제 주체들이 신뢰를 바탕으로 인프라를 공유할 토대를 만드는 것"이라고 말했다. 최현경 산업연구원 연구위원은 "공유경제 활성화를 위해 규제완화를 얘기하지만, 산업별로 갖고 있는 문제점이 다르고 해결방안도 다르다"며 "산업별 해법을 찾기 위한 작업이 필요하다"고 말했다.
토론에 참석한 한훈 기획재정부 정책조정국장은 "정부는 국민편익, 관련산업 발전, 기존 종사자 이익 보호라는 세 가지 기조를 바탕으로 공유경제 활성화 문제에 접근하고 있다"고 말했다.

이러한 공유경제를 우리는 어떻게 이해하고 어떤 전략으로 어떻게 추진해야할 것인가?
개인 간 유휴자원의 공유로 시작된 공유경제는 시민 중심의 경제로 발전하고 있다. 혁신 기술로 강력해진 개개인이 경제 가치 소비자에서 생산자로서 경제의 중심이 되고 있다. 누구나 경제 가치를 만들고 일상이 사업이 된다. 원할 때 원하는 만큼만 공유로 소유해서 누릴 수 있다. 공유경제로 적은 비용으로 더 편하게 더 많은 것을 더 다양하게 누릴 수 있게 된다. 인류의 생존과 지속성장을 위해서도 공유경제는 인류가 가야할 길이다. 머지않아 공유경제는 일반화될 것이다.
저자는 2012년부터 코자자(KOZAZA)라는 공유숙박 플랫폼 사업을 추진해 왔다. 최근에는 참여자 중심인 블록체인 기반의 조합형 공유숙박 프로젝트인 위홈(Wehome.me)을 추진 중이다. 기재부 산하 사단법인 한국공유경제협회협회장으로서 민간 차원의 공유경제 활성화를 위해서도 활동 중이다.

CrowdStrike researchers have identified a HijackLoader (aka IDAT Loader) sample that employs sophisticated evasion techniques to enhance the complexity of the threat. HijackLoader, an increasingly popular tool among adversaries for deploying additional payloads and tooling, continues to evolve as its developers experiment and enhance its capabilities.
In their analysis of a recent HijackLoader sample, CrowdStrike researchers discovered new techniques designed to increase the defense evasion capabilities of the loader. The malware developer used a standard process hollowing technique coupled with an additional trigger that was activated by the parent process writing to a pipe. This new approach, called "Interactive Process Hollowing", has the potential to make defense evasion stealthier.
