A Report Of Roger And Michelle Plan On Establishing Winery...
This report will advise Roger and Michelle how to establish their Adelaide Hills wine touring
business. Ownership structures are considered, whether a partnership or private company would be
more beneficial, together with important elements of business establishment and legal considerations,
success factors, and future possibilities. Information was gathered from a variety of sources including
government organisations, primary sources, and the South Australian Tourism Commission which
provided reliable information. Numerous media articles and websites were referenced to support
information as these sources were not as reliable as government organisations and primary resources.
Introduction
Roger and Michelle plan on establishing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A written Partnership Agreement covers various legal matters, such as; partner contributed equity, how
profits/losses will be distributed, and the name of the partnership.
A partnership has many advantages. It offers lower establishment costs compared to setting up a
company. It allows a group of people to contribute their knowledge, skills, specialities, and allows for
all financial assets to be combined. In the future, it would permit their children to be involved in the
business. Also the partnership structure can be changed to meet longer term goals.
A disadvantage of a partnership is unlimited liability, meaning personal assets are at risk. Also if a
partner incurs any debts or dies, the other partner(s) are liable (see Appendix A, page 8).
Private companies are the most common company structure in Australia and are often family owned,
small to medium sized businesses. They can have 1 50 owners who buy shares to contribute capital.
Once incorporated, the business becomes its own legal entity. This means that shareholders have
limited liability equal to the amount of shares they own and none of their personal assets are at risk.
Limited liability is an important benefit as it means that the shareholder s personal assets are not at
risk and are only liable for the amount of shares they own. It also offers potential to expand,

Globalism And The Growth Of Income Disparity
Globalism and the Growth of Income Disparity
Globalism and the Growth of Income Disparity
Globalism refers to connectedness and communication networks that span continents and bring the
world s people closer together, and globalization refers to how globalism increases or decreases.
Digital technology has increased globalism, global marketing and business opportunities, but this
growth doesn t mean that everyone gets a share of the wealth. There has been a growing gap between
the richest and poorest people that only seems to increase as globalism generates more opportunities.
The top fifth of U.S. households, for example, own 84 percent of the nation s wealth while the bottom
two fifths only own 0.3 percent of the country s wealth according to the a href=

Scalar.USC.edu study found that incomes for the richest 1 percent tripled between 1979 and 2007
while median income households only earned 25 percent more in the same period, and most of that
increase was due to labor force increases and people working longer hours.
Income Disparity Between Poor and Rich Has Grown Steadily Under Globalization
People persist with many misconceptions and seem to prefer rags to riches success stories over the
hard facts that the disparity between the haves and have nots continues to increase. These
misconceptions include:
Globalism makes things fairer for everybody.

A Positive Parent And Child Relationship
A positive parent and child relationship is the main foundation for children s knowledge. With parents
and their sensitive, responsive, and predictable caring towards young children, it helps develop
children s skills they need to succeed in their lifetime. Likewise early parent child relationships have
powerful effects on children s emotional well being. Through these exchanges children learn skills
they need to engage with other children as well as adapt in different types of environments. Children
eventually learn how to manage their emotions, and behaviors in addition they establish healthy
relationships with adults and peers. This would eventually lead children to learn how to adjust to new
situations and to resolve conflicts. When parents have warm, trusting, and reliable relationships with
peers as well as their families, community members, and service providers, they are more likely to
have positive relationships with their children. To work towards Positive Parent Child Relationships
Outcome, social providers and programs can provide emotional and concrete support to parents, as
well as respecting diverse parenting styles, value cultural differences and home languages it helps
reinforce the importance of fathers and other co parents. By Parents connecting and socializing with
other parents as well as community members it could help parents demonstrate to them the types of
relationship that are out there and what should be the appropriate type of

Steam Power
The Development of Steam Power and Its Use to Mobilize Troops This paper will explore why it took
roughly 1500 years for steam power to be taken seriously after its initial discovery in ancient
Alexandria and how its development lead to advancements in the transportation of troops during times
of war. Capitalism was the driving force that lead to the first practical use of steam power in the coal
industry as a solution to increase productivity and create higher profits. As the steam engine refined so
did the iron industry creating stronger and more readily available metals that aided in the invention of
better steam engines and the creation of new industries. The resulting boom of the industrial
revolution lead to investments and advancements in transportation and infrastructure for both raw
materials and finished products. These new modes of efficient transportation proved equally
expeditious for the movement of troops during times of war. The wide spread use of coal provides two
primary reasons for the development of the steam ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Manmade canals had many problems even with the invention of the steam ship. Better locomotives
were built leading to an investment in the infrastructure of modern rail ways. In 1830 the first public
railway line was opened in England using the Rocket with steam engines built by George Stephenson.
At the opening of this railway a regiment of troops was carried 34 miles in two hours. Before the
introduction of the steam engine this would have been a journey of two days on foot. This event
prompted a well known French General to later prophesize that the strategical use of railways would
create a revolution in military science as great as that which had been brought about by the use of
gunpowder. By 1850 trains had reached a speed of 50 miles an hour and there were over 6,000 miles
of railroad track in England

Drude Dahlerup As A Critical Mass Theory
Critical mass theory
Drude Dahlerup first conceptualised critical mass in a feminist theory context in her 1988 article,
From a Small to a Large Minority: Women in Scandinavian Politics. A critical mass, applied to women
in politics, is a threshold that allows for women s issues to influence legislative and public policy
changes once passed (Beckwith, 2007). In critical mass theory, once a minority group (in this case
women) reaches a given quantity of descriptive representation, qualitative change occurs affecting
norms, values and institutions. Kanter (1977) developed a four category typology to assess group
dynamics in organisational culture, which Dahlerup builds on: uniform, all one gender group; skewed,
with an 85:15 split; tilted, a 65:35 split; and balanced, a 60:40 or 50:50 split. According to Beckwith,
skewed is the most common ratio in business leadership and legislatures. Dahlerup posited 30 percent
as the critical mass in which substantive representation occurs, supported by academic consensus and
a 1992 United Nations report (Kurebwa, 2017).
These assertions about critical mass tend to align with New Zealand s substantive representation
discussed earlier in this essay. Since the introduction of MMP in 1996, women have held above 30
percent of parliamentary seats (excluding 2002, with 28 percent) (NZ Parliament, 2014). In this time,
significant reform for women s issues occurred, including the previously mentioned paid parental
leave and Working For

Traveling through humanity is a never ending story. Traveling through ethnicity is an ever changing
journey. Is race or culture a matter of color? Is it a way of life; or a decision an individual makes? Is it
an idea one has of themselves? In the novels, Bless Me Ultima (Anaya 1972) and The Lone Ranger

voice to their journey of growing up and finding their place in the world in regards to their heritage.

different culture, as he enters school; there he meets the white dominant culture head on. Tony, now

American; in Alexie s novel, Victor strives to be an Indian, period. Victor s culture, being different
from Tony s, breeds different cultural problems. Victor, a Native American Indian, in Sherman Alexie

Victor lives in a white world that continually divests him of the privilege of his heritage daily. The
ordinary daily erosion damages Victor and the Native American the most. Alexie writes, . . . it s almost
like Indians can easily survive the big stuff. Mass murder, loss of language and land rights. It s the

Thomas Jefferson And The United States
Thomas Jefferson To begin with, Thomas Jefferson was born April 13, 1743, at Shadwell, Virginia, to
Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph, one of Virginia s most prestigious families. Throughout his long
life he died at eighty three years old Thomas Jefferson devoted himself to the building and governing
of the United States. He served in a number of positions, from Ambassador to France, Governor of
Virginia, Secretary of State, Vice President and as the third president of the United States. Yet, what
Thomas wanted to be remembered best was for the founding of University of Virginia, for authoring
the Declaration of Independence and as the author for the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. He
was the epitome of a Renaissance man, who prided himself on his knowledge of science, agriculture,
music and the arts as well as architecture, one of his chief loves. When he was twenty six years old he
inherited a large amount of land from his father on which he built his famous house Monticello. The
house sits at the top of a hill near Richmond Virginia, hence its name which literally translates into
beautiful mountain. Three years later he married Martha Wayles Skelton and together they had a total
of six children. However, only two lived to be adults, and Martha died only ten years after their
marriage. He never remarried. In addition to the land, Jefferson inherited a number of slaves from his
father and father in law which totaled approximately 200 in any given

Hospice Care Thesis
Thesis Palliative/Hospice Care: Necessity or Extension of Healthcare: a topic chosen to obtain clarity
of services, while questioning who is benefiting, patients or the healthcare system.
I. Introduction: The Historical Roots of Hospice
In the 8th century, B.C. the Homeric times, all Greeks without exception were regarded as being under
the protection of Zeus Xenios, the god of strangers and supplicants. A wanderer would be treated as a
guest and offered food, shelter, clothing, and gifts. Violation of the duties of hospitality were likely to
provoke the wrath from the gods. (Forman and Kitzes, et al 2003). Patients who were not cured by an

The medical regime, health care organizations and the public are aware of these end of life issues,
therefore must prioritize it s needs. The American Medical Association and the Institute of Medicine
foundation has devoted millions of dollars to public education on this issue through the Last Acts
initiative. (Forman and Kitzes, et al 2003).
This is one reason so many patients enter hospice only in the last days of life. A more reasonable
approach would be to have a patient begin Palliative/Hospice care while receiving curative care. The
Center for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS) is about to embark on a project to evaluate whether
providing hospice services earlier in an illness along with curative care, improves quality of life for
patients while reducing Medicare spending.
If Palliative/Hospice care were to be provided soon after a terminal diagnosis, there would be more
hospice care would be more timely. About a third of hospice patients die within seven days of
admission to a Palliative/Hospice program. This short length of stay compromises the quality of care
that hospice offers.

Solving the Foreclosure Crisis- Decrease Interest Rates,...
Foreclosure is an important issue in the United States and needs to be ended or decreased rapidly as
soon as possible for the sake of America s economy. The foreclosure of homes has decreased the state
of the economy, and rendered millions of Americans homeless. There are four key solutions that will
stop foreclosures in the United States and able millions of American to keep their homes. The first
solution is having banks lower their interest rates for all citizens who are in financial need of an
interest rate deduction. The second solution is creating jobs that are able to sustain through an
economic crisis. The third solution is for states and towns to conduct public seminars on how to
manage and budget ones finances during financially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The disadvantages of having banks lower their interest rates are, people may feel less obligated to pay
their mortgage payments on time because the interest rates are lower, despite the jobs that are
available through people owning homes there still may not be enough jobs to go around causing there
to be very little change in the amount of homes in foreclosure. Creating jobs that are able to sustain
through an economic crisis will stop foreclosures because if citizens lose their jobs in an economic
crisis they will be able to quickly find another job. This would be beneficial in the fight to end
foreclosures because people would have the funds to pay their mortgage and any other financial
obligations. How one would go about creating new jobs is by developing new technology, products,
and services that would change the way people live their everyday life while helping them to save
money. Hybrid vehicles are an example of a new technology that has currently kept and created new
jobs for citizens in the U.S. Hybrid vehicles are perfect examples of a new technology that has
changed the way people live their life while helping them to save money. There are two types of
hybrid vehicles such as, hybrid electric vehicles (HEV s), and plug in hybrid vehicles (PHEV s).

The Pros And Cons Of Language Pedagovation
Kurt Lewin(1942), was known as the founder of social psychology, he also proposed the theory that
behavior of the person is generated from different interactions of the learner and his environment. He
suggested that learning should be observed holistically with relation to the psychological factors of the
learners environment and also the other factor that effect the learners behavior.
Jean Piaget s(Piaget s Duckworth, 1970), genetic epistemology also finds a relation between the
learning process and the interaction with the environment. Piaget s theory denies this factor that the
knowledge already exists in the society or it is inborn characteristic of the learner.

The concept of language motivation already exists and adds nothing new in the acculturation and
language motivation or in the existing knowledge.
Then in the start of 1960s to 1980s, Gardner presented and remolded the socio educational model, the
most influential model of language learning motivation in the already existing literature (Keblawi;
2009, p. 12). Through this model, Gardner (1985a, p. 8) explains language motivation as a
combination of effort plus desire to achieve the goal of learning the language plus favorable attitudes
towards learning the language .
With the further description of integrative and instrumental motivation, it refers to the wish of the
learner to interact and communicate with the natives of the target language for the assimilation of the
language. On the other hand, the instrumental motivation is described with the functional point of
view of getting a better job and handsome salary or getting the success in the examination and for
getting supremacy and good status in the society (Keblawi,

Authority And The Canterbury Tales
Authority and The Canterbury Tales
Geoffrey Chaucer, widely known for his influence in medieval literature, expresses a fourteenth
century literacy concept of authority and gentility in The Canterbury Tales. There are two forms of
authority and gentility that will be covered in this discussion: authority and gentility in Chaucer s
personal life and the one in his two tales, The Wife of Bath s Tale , and The Clerk s Tale . Chaucer
himself loses a sense of authority over his writing after his death, when his scribe, Adam Pinkhurst
takes over as his authorial supporter. A wide speculation follows Chaucer and his Canterbury Tales
because it is believed that Chaucer himself did not complete his tales in its entirety, since his death
came before the publication of the book as well as the arrangement of the tales not being in order. In
Simon Horobin s article Compiling The Canterbury Tales in Fifteenth Century Manuscripts , N. F.
Blake raises the possibility that some of the earliest manuscripts of The Canterbury Tales may have
been written under Chaucer s supervision, and that differences in content and tale order would
therefore represent separate stages of authorial revision (Horobin, 372). Aside from the completion of
the tales, more important the authenticity of his work is greater questioned because his idea for the
pilgrims are perhaps borrowed from predecessors, for example Giovanni Boccaccio s The Decameron
that holds a similar theme. Chaucer deals with a form of

Qualities of an Effective Teacher
What it means to be an effective teacher
Introduction
An effective teacher is someone who increases the understanding of a pupil. Effective teaching is the
ability of providing instructions to students of varying abilities while incorporating instructional
objectives and assessing the effective education form of students. In the evaluation of performance,
efficiency on the lesson plan and technique of delivery forms form part of the criteria taken into
consideration. The teacher s practices that ensure the higher level of assessment and active
participation are most successful. This outdo all the factors, such as size of the class, socioeconomic
conditions and gender (Sullivan 2001). The most significant aspect that gears a student to perform
well is the teachers details of classroom practices as demonstrated in one of the video links Pre
primary: Science Mini Beasts . They must have sufficient familiarity with the techniques and methods
associated with their career and must certify that the pupil learning must develop over the course of
the year (Sullivan 2001). Majorly presumed methods of quantifying teacher effectiveness include
pupils work, teacher s assessments, and lesson plans. An effective teacher employs creativity in the
classroom. It is both necessary to the student and teacher. Creativity involves qualities like
imagination, originality, and self expression. The teacher should encourage the use of imagination as
implied in the video footage. Imagination

Eleanor Conflict
During High School a teen goes through a lot of conflict with many different people. Eleanor, a
character in the book Eleanor and Park , is a great example of what some teens are going through
today. Eleanor is forced to sit next to Park, a kid that reads comics and listens to punk, on the first day
of school. They both could not be any more different. It also doesn t help that she is over the average
weight and is made fun of at school for her looks. And with Eleanor struggling with her home life and
her step dad Richie, Park becomes a safe spot for Eleanor. Richie is very protective of what goes on in
his house so when he finds out about both of them together, it s not good. But Eleanor eventually finds
a way to deal with everything and leave some things behind. The first example of how Eleanor grows

One piece of evidence that supports this is when Eleanor and Park first meet. Eleanor is struggling to
find a seat on the bus. As the bus driver is yelling at her to sit down, everybody on the bus is staring at

unwillingly lets her sit down next to him. Eleanor couldn t tell if the Asian kid who finally let her sit
down was one of them, or whether he was just really stupid (Rowell11). Eleanor is confused as to why
Park let her sit down. She wonders if he is one of the bullies based on how he yelled and sweared at
her to sit down. Or, if he is just really dumb. This shows that Eleanor grows as a result of conflicts
with Park because she develops a feeling for Park. It may not be a good feeling or good first
impression, but he is the only one that let her sit down. A second piece of evidence that supports this is
when Park gives Eleanor a comic for the first time. They were both sitting on the bus

Irony In The Canterbury Tales
Throughout The Canterbury Tales Chaucer uses elements of irony. The Canterbury.Tales is a frame
story compiling the tales of a number of characters on their way to the Canterbury Cathedral. This
Middle English work was never completely finished due to Chaucer s death in 1400; however, the
twenty four completed stories have been passed down through hand written manuscripts. The Pardoner
s Tale and The WIfe of Bath s Tale both feature a number of ironic statements from the characters
within each story. With his extensive use of irony Chaucer conveys his true feelings toward those he
wrote of in the tales. The Pardoner s Tale is a tale of three drinking men on their quest to find death.
Throughout the story Chaucer uses irony to show both the ironic journey of the men, and to show how
corrupt the Pardoner himself is. After encountering an old man in the streets, the men are pointed
towards a tree where they are told they will find death, but when they reach the tree only gold is to be
found. When the three drinking men state Who would have thought / This morning was to be our
lucky day? (181 182) Chaucer is using irony to allude to the fact that the three men do indeed find
death, but it is their own death they find. The Pardoner is using the three men to support his claim that
greed is the root of all evil and due to each of their desires to have all the gold to themselves they will
all perish. The tale shows how by finding the gold the brotherly oath to protect one

Eucharist, And The Sacrifice Of Black Bodies Analysis
Neoliberalism, Eucharist, and the Sacrifice of Black Bodies In contextualizing the relationship

that are clashing. It is through this examination of the neoliberal manipulation of the hierarchical voice
of American Catholicism within the discourse of American politics, and its subsequent effects on
Black bodies an echo of the more sinister objective of the elites is heard. As American institutional
Catholicism plays its role within the elevation and sanctification of whiteness (through the furthering

Commercial Law Work Example.
Question 1
The UK Rail vs. Smithfileld case is a striking example of the term Agency of Necessity. This is the
case when, in certain circumstances, the agent is allowed by law to take actions on behalf of the
principal without the will, knowledge or any other representation of the principal. However, certain
requirements have to be met, in order for the agent to claim that it acted out of necessity: 1) the actions
have been taken for the reason of compelling emergency; 2) impossibility of communication; and 3)
interests of the principal (to be genuinely judged by the agency). The first test to be passed by an agent
is the necessity to take salvage actions. In cases of an emergency or a consequential necessity, ... Show

Command and Control Policy Introduction Climate change poses a huge risk to human beings and
natural system hence the need for policies to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions to the environment
and the damages caused by the rapidly changing climate. This is the reason countries like the United
States of America enacted command and control policies to try and curb the rate of pollution of the
environment (Davies Mazurek, 2014 ). This paper will explain the command and control policy, give

When the quantities of environmental protection are low for an extensive for an extensive pollution,
then there exists a variety of cheap and easy ways to reduce pollution hence an increase in marginal
benefits. However, if the event that an environmental protection rises, then cheap and readily available
ways of reducing pollution start to decrease hence requiring more costly methods to be employed. As
the extent of environmental regulation rises, additional expenditures related to environmental
protection will most likely lead to increased marginal costs and decreased marginal benefits. This
pattern would suggest that the cost savings and flexibility nature of market oriented environmental
policies would be very important (Harrington Morgenstern, 2013).

The Execution Of A New Strategy
Execution of a new strategy is always a taxing task. It necessitates the possession of significant
resources, and also a well designed and engaged administrative composition. Good policy will
designate a specific person who or entity who is accountable for implementing the new policy. At the
outset of the execution of a new policy, a group should be identified that can oversee the new strategy
in all pertinent sectors of the organization to assure various efforts within management are
synchronized.
In Jordan, an expansion synchronization team was set up in the governmental bureau that collected
information from each of the government directorates within the kingdom s Education Ministry to
oversee the implementation of diverse programs connected to the education transformation that
included the ICT Plan that the government wished to develop (Ministry of Economics, 2008). In
Singapore, the Educational Technology Division teamed up with divisions within the government s
education ministry in such activities as curriculum preparation, development and training of teachers
in ICT and the execution of their long range and short range plans. In addition, the Ministry of
Education worked closely with the government agencies that are held responsible for the national ICT
grid and for increasing an aggressive ICT industry in Singapore (Coppock, Smith Howell, 2007).

Factors Affecting Pacific Oysters
Introduction
Pacific Oyster Mortality Syndrome (POMS) is a disease which affects Pacific Oysters and it is caused
by a virus called OsHV 1 micro variant. It has been present in three estuary systems in NSW Georges
River, Parramatta River and the Hawkesbury River. A suspect case has also recently been detected in
involvement with mortalities of farmed Pacific Oysters in Tasmania. The first reported POMS
mortality outbreak in Australia was recorded in NSW in 2010. POMS affects Pacific Oysters only,
with no other oyster species at risk. This virus cannot be transmitted to humans and there are no
human health insinuations. Since the first detection of POMS in NSW, movement restrictions have
been in place on oysters and oyster products to reduce the risk of spread to other areas. It is not known
how the virus disease reached Australia. It is believed that this disease can be transported via boats,
equipment handling and environmental. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This outbreak has cost the Tasmania agriculturalists a great deal of money as in enables them to

that the virus has been present in Tasmania since at least mid December 2015. Others question its
arrival so soon after the annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, long feared as a possible source of the
deadly virus. It has also been found in wild Pacific oysters growing in the Derwent estuary at a

Tyler Junior College Case Study
Section 1: In the fall of 1970, three long haired men sought to register to attend Tyler Junior College in
the fall semester. When they arrived to register, they were snubbed by a school official after receiving
a copy of the dress code, due to the length of their hair. They were informed that they would be
allowed to attend the college upon cutting their hair to the required length. After discussing the
injustice of this act, these three men filed a suit against the dress code of Tyler Junior College. The
plaintiffs claimed the portion of the dress code regarding hair length was a violation of their
constitutional rights, specifically the rights afforded to them under the fourteenth amendment. Section

Directly after this acknowledgement, he stated that the power of institutions like Tyler Junior College

In Spite of Women Esquire Magazine and the construction of Male Consumer
Rhetorical Analysis One
During early thirties and forties which was right after the depression, government and corporate felt
the necessity to revive the market. At that time, people thought women were the ones with dominating
consumption powers. As Kenon Breazeale quoted in his article, Women are indeed the shoppers of the
world. (Breazeale, 231). However, some people such as those in journalism fraternity regarded women
s buying power as gullible vulnerability to consumerism s trashy faddishness (Breazeale, 232). Those
people spread wide hostility toward women s taste and argued that men should be the ones with ...

Breazeale here showed how Esquire trashed women s taste in food and at the same time implied that
male was much better in enjoying good food.
By quoting several similar examples about home décor and drink, Breazeale pointed out that all those
articles weren t written in any occasional incidents. By contrast, Esquire was knitting similar
misogynistic threads for years to conceptualize people about the gender related meanings of good and
bad taste. Food such as steaks and fowl, home décor with clean and functional features and alcohol
were considered as good and related with masculinity. On the other hand, ornamentation, carrot
teensie weenesies and anti alcohol were perceived as bad and femininity. As a summary of the
function of text, Breazeale concluded that all Esquire did were trying to recuperate a female identified
role for men which need arguing against traditional gender related social roles. Yet at the same time,
Esquire conveyed the message that any attempts of changing the traditional modes of patriarchal rules
was not allowed. So it was necessary to emphasize the privilege that male had over female. This job
was accomplished by the other function of the magazine illustrations.
Breazeale argued that by showing erotic spectacles

The Private Memoirs And Confessions Of A Justified Sinner
The history of gothic literature is a discussion of how the classic gothic literature has morphed into
today s contemporary gothic literature. From the beginning days of gothic writing one of the main
focuses has been on the issues that were relevant in the county or world at the time. Most people think
of gothic writings as a scary story of gloom and doom, but there are many aspects that encompass a
gothic writing. The true is that there are many elements to a gothic writing. The writer does not need
to use all of them at the same time, but to use some of them to make it a gothic writing. As technology
and the social atmosphere have evaluated writers have incorporated these elements into their writing.

Introduction
In 2000, the Board of Ursinus College, raised its tuition from $19,331 to $23,460. This turned out to
be a 17.6% increase. Surprisingly, the tuition increase proved to be a positive change for Ursinus
College. The college received more than 200 applicants than its previous year (Brickley, Smith and
Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). Other regional institutions such as University of Notre Dame, Bryn Mawr
College and Rice University also experienced a similar trend once they increased their tuition rates
(Brickley, Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). The president of Ursinus College deduced that the
tuition increase affected enrollment rate (increased enrollment). She simply stated that people don t
want cheap (Brickley, Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). Today, Susan Hansen, Admissions
Director of East Liberal Arts College, wishes to increase tuition and reduce financial aid available to
students (Brickley, Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). Moreover, she has expressed that increasing
tuition and reducing the amount of financial aid will solve the schools financial problems (Brickley,
Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). This will be done by increasing an effective tuition from
$15,000 to $25,000 (Brickley et al., 2009). She also projects that the tuition increase enrollment from

Fast Food And Obesity
FOOD MATTERS: RESEARCH Obesity in children increases the more hours they watch television.
Children s exposure to TV ads for unhealthy food products (i.e., high calorie, low nutrient snacks, fast
foods and sweetened drinks) are a significant risk factor for obesity. In very young children, research
has found that for every one hour increase in TV viewing per day, there are higher intakes of sugar
sweetened beverages, fast food, red and processed meat, and overall calories (48.7 kcal/day). Excess
weight can be gained by the addition of only 150 calories a day. Other research has found that children
who watch more than three hours of television a day are 50 per cent more likely to be obese than
children who watch fewer than two hours. Food and beverage advertising targeted at children
influences their product preferences, requests and diet. The food and beverage industry has resolved to
self regulate their marketing to children, but this has not resulted in significant improvement in the
marketing of healthier food (i.e., fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat or non fat milk or dairy
products, lean meats, poultry, fish and beans) to children. Almost three out of every four foods
advertised to children falls into the unhealthy categories that contribute to the obesity epidemic. Food
ads on television make up 50 percent of all the ad time on children s shows. These ads are almost
completely dominated by unhealthy food products (34 percent for

Informative Speech On Thanksgiving
Anyone can eat soul food on any particular day of the year. However, it is something distinctive about
preparing and eating soul food on Thanksgiving Day. Soul food is considered to be fried chicken,
macaroni and cheese, collard greens, breaded fried okra and yams. The preparation and consumption
of soul food have been a staple in my family s tradition for many generations. Perchance the food
tastes better because of the cool crisp air, or maybe it s the Macy s Thanksgiving Day parade. I
honestly don t know why, but I feel like this should be a paten scientific theory. Everything just feels
right on this day, as if the world halts for a split second and it is at harmony. Possibly that is why the
food is cooked to perfection. Even the process of preparing the meal is practically better than eating

Dec Management Style
Management Style Paper
Introduction:
Management of an athletics department is extremely tricky. One must balance different sports, while
keeping in mind the importance of certain sports and the importance of others. One must keep focus
throughout the programs in general. Not only the function of the facilities, but of the people who
maintain them and our student athletes. Along with the general descriptions, one must steady the
academic function and NCAA guidelines, keeping the program in equilibrium. In referencing Scehin,
caution must be used to set your eyes on one style. The DEC management style, where in the sense
that winning is the ultimate objective of your battle, and yelling your point across is the best way of
doing this, is not the best style. The Ciba Geigy style is excellent in communication with lateral
movement, however the lateral parts must integrate and perform as one singular unit. However, the
hierarchy of family structure is interesting. The subordinates must feel the compassion and
understanding of a family structure, but also must recognize the hierarchy of the chain of the
command. To call an athletics department a democracy would be a bit much. However, to have a
council and discussion then to make a decision based on the collective benefits of all is the way my
athletics department would be.

Staff would be handled by supervisors and if problems arose in which the supervisors were held
powerless or in a situation, then I would step in. If

Essay on America Should Not Use Military Force in Iraq
Dear Americans:
After the successful anti terrorism war in Afghanistan, are we going to fight another war on Iraq? In
almost every statement on foreign policy, Bush states his belief on his war against Iraq and depicts
Saddam Hussein as an evil. A recent poll showed that nearly seven in 10 supported military action to
force Saddam Hussein from power (Public Agenda). Before you make your decision, do you think a
war after Iraq is justified by International law and US law? Do you know the current situation and the
background of Iraq and the Middle East world? Do you think getting rid of Hussein can stop terrorists

Now President Bush has declared his intention to wage a preemptive war against Iraq (Messineo and
Hilliard). Preemptive war means we can attack Iraq in the first place just because we believe Iraq is
supporting terrorists and we believe Iraq will attack us in the future. Then who can justify whether
what we believe is right or wrong? What if some terrorists attack us first just because they believe that
US will attack them in the future?
We can clearly see the injustice of the war by other countries responses. Fighting the al Qaeda
terrorists in Afghanistan was a right action against terrorists. Most countries around the world
supported us. But on the issue of war on Iraq, even though Bush tries his best to persuade other
countries leaders, most key countries are still against it (BBC news). For example, Germany argues
that international efforts to fight terrorism, rebuild Afghanistan and calm the conflict in the Middle
East could be destabilized by a strike against Iraq ; France has serious reservations about an attack on
Iraq ; Russia indicates that it might agree to attack Iraq only under UN authority if Baghdad blocks the

Engineering Skills Gap At The Manufacturing Sector
Abstract
This report looks into what the future may look like for the manufacturing sector as well as
engineering in Wales. The future looks potentially very good, with many predictions of growth in the
manufacturing sector, with a possible £27 billion more each year from 2022, for the UK in general,
drawing more companies in and creating many more jobs in the process. However, the main obstacle
is an engineering skills gap, with many more engineers required to fill the vacancies and replace the
aging workforce, than Wales is currently producing. There are a number of programs to try and
increase the number of children studying STEM subjects and funding to create more engineering
apprenticeships. While the 2022 target is within reach a lot more work is needed to produce the
required number of engineers to make the growth possible.
Introduction
The manufacturing industry is comprised of businesses that manufacture and process products from
raw materials or commodities. It includes a vast range of sectors such as food, chemicals, automotive,
computer equipment and electronics. In most developed countries manufacturing takes up a significant
part of the economy.
This report will look at the current situation of the manufacturing sector as well as engineering in
Wales, and look into what the future may be like, as well as what is being done to achieve it.

out the supplies. Mentally preparing myself, I grab the dish soap, drain plug, towel, and sponge. After
I have all of my supplies on the counter, I reach under the heaping pile of slimy plates, pans, pots,
silverware, and glasses to place the drain plug in the sink. Next, I fill the sink with hot water to soften
the dried food clinging to the dishes. I attempt to not make the water too hot, but usually I fail and
nearly burn off my fingertips. Once the water is at an acceptable temperature, I squirt heaps dish soap
into the running water until bubbles start to foam over the edge of the sink. To have the slightest bit of
enjoyment in the otherwise grueling process, I scoop

Ways Of Seeing
What is History but a Fable Agreed Upon Those who control what is known about the past can change
the way a society thinks and behaves. They have the ability to manipulate what actually happened in
the past so that they exploit it for personal, political and even cultural purposes. Although most people
seem to forget, history is usually always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is
obliterated and the winner writes the history books; books which glorify their own cause and
disparage the conquered foe. As napoleon said, what is history but a fable agreed upon . The Novel

The way we see and perceive this art is predetermined by a variety of different factor ranging from
cultural background to socioeconomic status. A people or a class which is cut off from its own past is
far less free to choose and to act as a people or class than one that has been able to situate itself in
history. This is why and this is the only reason why the entire art of the past has now become a
political issue (J. Berger pg. 33) He argues that if a group of people are robbed of being able to create
their own culturally relative and socially correct standards for art, then they are being oppressed from
engaging as political equals. People use art to understand their place within world history and create
social and political meaning for themselves or their culture. Art gives you the power to control how
people perceive the past, the present and possibly even the future. Although now the ability to control
what art people see isn t as regulated as it once was, but prior to the invention of the camera and the
internet, art was controlled by the minority of the elite and wealthy. the art of the past is being
mystified because a privileged minority is striving to invent a history which can retrospectively justify
the role of the ruling classes and such a justification can no longer make sense in modern terms (J.
Berger, Pg.157). The upper class mystifies the general population to stay in control; without the ability
to see things through our own eyes, people are being deprived of their right to understanding
themselves and placing themselves in a role of society. Mystification contributes a negative influence
on our society. Mystifying of art distinguish upper class and low class, and more importantly causes
the past of certain groups and cultures, such as women,

The Catcher in the Rye Rewrite Ending Essay
Writing Activity #4 Rewrite the ending of the story. Anyway, I really did go home after the carrousel.
First, Phoebe and I walked out of the park onto the east side, and took the bus to Grand Central, to get
my goddam Gladstones out of the strong box there. pretty Though it had stopped pouring out, I was
still wet. Boy, it really came down like a madman. I still had Phoebe s red hunting hat on, it was
soaking wet though. I didn t care. All I could think about Phoebe. Just Phoebe. I m glad we re both
going home now, Holden , she said. I m just ready to get this over with , I said, Mom and dad will cry
and yell their heads off. Just leave when it happens. Don t worry, Holden. It ll be okay , Phoebe said.

She s in the play too. Yes , Susie said, It should be really great . She was so polite. I really liked her. I
usually like Phoebe s friends when I meet them. Watching the two of them helped me get my mind off
of how I was about to face my parents. I was worried about my mom. I really was. I tried not to think
of how hysterical she d get. Phoebe said mom and dad were coming home at around seven o clock. It
was around four o clock now. Soon enough they d come home, see me, and deal with me. So, we got
off the bus at 72nd street, said goodbye to Susie, and walked home. Phoebe seemed all cheery. Kids
don t understand situations like this. I mean, old Phoebe, she did, but I guess she was just really happy
to be with me, and that I was home and all. How are Mr. and Mrs. Antolini? , she asked me. They re
doing pretty good , I said. Of course I would never tell her what really happened. I still couldn t
believe it. It really bothered me. Had he always liked me in that way? I don t even want to answer that.
Really. Anyway, I was so happy to see old Phoebe. She was about the only friendly person whose
company I d enjoyed since I left Pencey Prep. We got home early to my surprise and I took my
suitcases into my room and lay it down on my bed. I was pretty tired, having hardly slept the night
before. I had a big headache. All of a sudden I got to thinking about Pencey and all their goddam

A written Partnership Agreement covers various legal matters, such as; partner contributed equity, how profits/losses will be distributed, and the name of the partnership. A partnership has many advantages. It offers lower establishment costs compared to setting up a company. It allows a group of people to contribute their knowledge, skills, specialities, and allows for all financial assets to be combined. In the future, it would permit their children to be involved in the business. Also the partnership structure can be changed to meet longer term goals. A disadvantage of a partnership is unlimited liability, meaning personal assets are at risk. Also if a partner incurs any debts or dies, the other partner(s) are liable (see Appendix A, page 8). Private companies are the most common company structure in Australia and are often family owned, small to medium sized businesses. They can have 1 50 owners who buy shares to contribute capital. Once incorporated, the business becomes its own legal entity. This means that shareholders have limited liability equal to the amount of shares they own and none of their personal assets are at risk. Limited liability is an important benefit as it means that the shareholder s personal assets are not at risk and are only liable for the amount of shares they own. Steam Power The Development of Steam Power and Its Use to Mobilize Troops This paper will explore why it took roughly 1500 years for steam power to be taken seriously after its initial discovery in ancient Alexandria and how its development lead to advancements in the transportation of troops during times of war. Capitalism was the driving force that lead to the first practical use of steam power in the coal industry as a solution to increase productivity and create higher profits. As the steam engine refined so did the iron industry creating stronger and more readily available metals that aided in the invention of better steam engines and the creation of new industries. The resulting boom of the industrial revolution lead to investments and advancements in transportation and infrastructure for both raw materials and finished products. • 9. Drude Dahlerup As A Critical Mass Theory Critical mass theory Drude Dahlerup first conceptualised critical mass in a feminist theory context in her 1988 article, From a Small to a Large Minority: Women in Scandinavian Politics. A critical mass, applied to women in politics, is a threshold that allows for women s issues to influence legislative and public policy changes once passed (Beckwith, 2007). In critical mass theory, once a minority group (in this case women) reaches a given quantity of descriptive representation, qualitative change occurs affecting norms, values and institutions. Kanter (1977) developed a four category typology to assess group dynamics in organisational culture, which Dahlerup builds on: uniform, all one gender group; skewed, with an 85:15 split; tilted, a 65:35 split; and balanced, a 60:40 or 50:50 split. According to Beckwith, skewed is the most common ratio in business leadership and legislatures. Dahlerup posited 30 percent as the critical mass in which substantive representation occurs, supported by academic consensus and a 1992 United Nations report (Kurebwa, 2017). These assertions about critical mass tend to align with New Zealand s substantive representation discussed earlier in this essay. Since the introduction of MMP in 1996, women have held above 30 percent of parliamentary seats (excluding 2002, with 28 percent) (NZ Parliament, 2014). There are four key solutions that will stop foreclosures in the United States and able millions of American to keep their homes. The first solution is having banks lower their interest rates for all citizens who are in financial need of an interest rate deduction. Creating jobs that are able to sustain through an economic crisis will stop foreclosures because if citizens lose their jobs in an economic crisis they will be able to quickly find another job. • 16. Authority And The Canterbury Tales Authority and The Canterbury Tales Geoffrey Chaucer, widely known for his influence in medieval literature, expresses a fourteenth century literacy concept of authority and gentility in The Canterbury Tales. There are two forms of authority and gentility that will be covered in this discussion: authority and gentility in Chaucer s personal life and the one in his two tales, The Wife of Bath s Tale , and The Clerk s Tale . Chaucer himself loses a sense of authority over his writing after his death, when his scribe, Adam Pinkhurst takes over as his authorial supporter. A wide speculation follows Chaucer and his Canterbury Tales because it is believed that Chaucer himself did not complete his tales in its entirety, since his death came before the publication of the book as well as the arrangement of the tales not being in order. In Simon Horobin s article Compiling The Canterbury Tales in Fifteenth Century Manuscripts , N. F. Blake raises the possibility that some of the earliest manuscripts of The Canterbury Tales may have been written under Chaucer s supervision, and that differences in content and tale order would therefore represent separate stages of authorial revision (Horobin, 372). Aside from the completion of the tales, more important the authenticity of his work is greater questioned because his idea for the pilgrims are perhaps borrowed from predecessors, for example Giovanni Boccaccio s The Decameron that holds a similar theme. • 21. Irony In The Canterbury Tales Throughout The Canterbury Tales Chaucer uses elements of irony. The Canterbury.Tales is a frame story compiling the tales of a number of characters on their way to the Canterbury Cathedral. This Middle English work was never completely finished due to Chaucer s death in 1400; however, the twenty four completed stories have been passed down through hand written manuscripts. The Pardoner s Tale and The WIfe of Bath s Tale both feature a number of ironic statements from the characters within each story. With his extensive use of irony Chaucer conveys his true feelings toward those he wrote of in the tales. The Pardoner s Tale is a tale of three drinking men on their quest to find death. Throughout the story Chaucer uses irony to show both the ironic journey of the men, and to show how corrupt the Pardoner himself is. After encountering an old man in the streets, the men are pointed towards a tree where they are told they will find death, but when they reach the tree only gold is to be found. When the three drinking men state Who would have thought / This morning was to be our lucky day? (181 182) Chaucer is using irony to allude to the fact that the three men do indeed find death, but it is their own death they find. The Pardoner is using the three men to support his claim that greed is the root of all evil and due to each of their desires to have all the gold to themselves they will all perish. The Tuition Increase Affected Enrollment Rate Table of Contents Introduction 3 Background 4 Analysis 5 Factors 6 Recommendation 7 Conclusion 8 References 9 Introduction In 2000, the Board of Ursinus College, raised its tuition from $19,331 to $23,460. This turned out to be a 17.6% increase. Surprisingly, the tuition increase proved to be a positive change for Ursinus College. The college received more than 200 applicants than its previous year (Brickley, Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). Other regional institutions such as University of Notre Dame, Bryn Mawr College and Rice University also experienced a similar trend once they increased their tuition rates (Brickley, Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). The president of Ursinus College deduced that the tuition increase affected enrollment rate (increased enrollment). She simply stated that people don t want cheap (Brickley, Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). Today, Susan Hansen, Admissions Director of East Liberal Arts College, wishes to increase tuition and reduce financial aid available to students (Brickley, Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). Moreover, she has expressed that increasing tuition and reducing the amount of financial aid will solve the schools financial problems (Brickley, Smith and Zimmerman, 2009, p. 110). Children s exposure to TV ads for unhealthy food products (i.e., high calorie, low nutrient snacks, fast foods and sweetened drinks) are a significant risk factor for obesity. In very young children, research has found that for every one hour increase in TV viewing per day, there are higher intakes of sugar sweetened beverages, fast food, red and processed meat, and overall calories (48.7 kcal/day). Excess weight can be gained by the addition of only 150 calories a day. Other research has found that children who watch more than three hours of television a day are 50 per cent more likely to be obese than children who watch fewer than two hours. Food and beverage advertising targeted at children influences their product preferences, requests and diet. The food and beverage industry has resolved to self regulate their marketing to children, but this has not resulted in significant improvement in the marketing of healthier food (i.e., fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat or non fat milk or dairy products, lean meats, poultry, fish and beans) to children. The future looks potentially very good, with many predictions of growth in the manufacturing sector, with a possible £27 billion more each year from 2022, for the UK in general, drawing more companies in and creating many more jobs in the process. However, the main obstacle is an engineering skills gap, with many more engineers required to fill the vacancies and replace the aging workforce, than Wales is currently producing. There are a number of programs to try and increase the number of children studying STEM subjects and funding to create more engineering apprenticeships. While the 2022 target is within reach a lot more work is needed to produce the required number of engineers to make the growth possible.
