The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, by Haruki Murakami, 100 Years...
Magical realism, as described by Michael Woods, is not a style of writing, just a modest fidelity to the
magic of reality in places where we are not. Woods goes on to tell his audience of the allure of
magical realism by explaining that reality in foreign places are more enchanting and exciting than
probably anything a reader could think of. Woods sets out vague principles of what magical realism
rarely resorts to. His list includes: dates, recognizable city streets, historical personages, diaries, gritty
descriptions, invitations to look things up in the newspapers.... Late night settings, promises of much
strangeness, aghast and/or terrified audience of listeners within the tale. By Woods standards he tells

Although Nutmeg mentions her job and work through the latter half of the novel it is never clear what
she does and how Toru helps her. Why was the well dry? Who was that faceless man? Although the
author gives a general idea about the answers to the questions, it is still left unclear of the correct
answer and is up for interpretation. Dante s Inferno also leaves the reader with more questions than
answers. In Inferno, symbolism is extremely obvious yet Dante still leaves certain questions
unanswered. The story never reveals why those in Hell are only punished for a single sin rather than
more than one sin or why he only cares about those suffering in Hell who are from Florence and
choses to ignore those some while he talks to others. Dante stays predominantly compliant to Woods
list of things that a magically realistic rarely does. Even though Dante makes reference to historic
personages, he makes note of them for their reason in Hell from their past. To a reader of present time,
the dates (Good Friday to Easter Sunday of the year 1300) seem almost irrelevant and one would find
it rather difficult to find a newspaper entry on something from the fourteenth century. A component of
Inferno is that while Dante is experiencing and traveling through Hell, he finds none of this out of the
ordinary. In fact, he wonders why he was picked to participate in this shamanistic journey. Woods
tells, Hell is real or imaginary, strange or all too

Edgar Allan Poe Strengths And Weaknesses Essay
Strength vs. Weakness Edgar Allan Poe s short story, The Cask of Amontillado , can be categorized as
an American Gothic literary piece due to Poe s selection of elements introduced by the narrator, whom
s name is later revealed as Montresor, regarding the gloomy, mysterious, suspenseful and terror filled
atmosphere. These elements can be defined as tropes. Specific characteristics of the genre are depicted
throughout the plot by the narrations provided, such being the greatly spacious and empty palazzo of
the narrator, the subterranean passages, the catacombs, the human remains, and the torches, or also
knows as flambeaus. When analyzing Poe s male protagonist and narrator, Montresor, the author s
disposition is definitely a quality to take under consideration. Poe was the son of actors, David and

Canada, Several incidents, including a suicide attempt, suggest that Poe suffered from some kind of

that he was manic depressive. . Another statement by Canada shows as well the concept that Poe s
psychological status affected his writings, ...he tirelessly explored subjects such as self destruction,
madness, and imagination in works such as The Imp of the Perverse , William Wilson , and Ulalume .

How Are Small Form Factor PCs Used in a Medical Setting?
If you have been to see your doctor lately or been in the hospital for any reason, chances are pretty
good you have seen at least one, if not more, type of small form factor PC at work. The typical small
form factor PC resembles a tablet or all in one computer and offers a number of advantages such as
self sufficiency and Wi Fi connectivity that makes it the perfect candidate for use in this type of
environment.
In Use Throughout the Healthcare Industry
Today the healthcare industry makes use of small form factor PCs like those manufactured by
Cybernet in a wide variety of applications. These include the patient exam rooms where both the
doctor and the nursing staff use tablets to update ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the idea of trying to work with the standard desktop or even average laptop computer can be
less than appealing due to size, weight, and inconvenience. On the other hand, forward thinking
medical facilities are arming their staff with the latest in medical grade small form factor PCs.
The Modern Small Form Factor PC
The modern tablet PC can best be described as offering users the best features of notebook PCs,
PDAs, and paper records. These devices provide the user with complete access to top of the line
mobile computing, without the aggravations and trade offs these devices required. Today s tablets and
all in one PCs are designed to use the latest operating systems and medical software. Users can input
information via a stylus or digital pen as well as the built in virtual keyboard.
Another major consideration is choosing to employ small form factor PCs is the ability to update
information using more than one method. While all of the tablets and all in one units offered by
Cybernet are Wi Fi enabled, they can also be connected directly to a docking station for charging and

Mondavi Five Forces Analysis
The Five Forces and Mondavi The competitive forces that shape company strategy are very important
to consider in any organization. However, they are especially important when an organization s forces
fall closer to the intense side on the scale between intense forces and benign forces. Almost no
company earns attractive returns on investment when forces are intense, like those in industries that
sell luxury goods. (Porter, 2008). Yet, Robert Mondavi s wineries have leveraged the five forces
(barriers to entry, bargaining power of suppliers/buyers, threat of substitutes, and competitive rivalry)
in order to maintain consistent profits. The five forces are discussed in detail below with the level of
importance increasing throughout the descriptions. While bargaining power of buyers is ranked the
least important of the five factors for Mondavi s strategy, its importance should not be understated.
One of the Wine is typically sold to wholesalers who then distribute to retail outlets. With the
decreasing number of wholesalers and the consolidation of retailers, buyers negotiating power is
increasing. It is difficult for companies like Mondavi to make consistent profits and maintain market
share if they cannot keep products on retailers shelves. The second least important factor in Mondavi s
corporate strategy is the threat of substitutes. A substitute offering arises when there is a product in a
different industry that can satisfy the same need as the product a company sells. If one looks at wine as
an alcoholic beverage, there really is no substitute for wine, as beer and liquor are technically in the
same industry. However, if seen as a luxury item that s purpose is for the experience, there are some
substitutes for wine. Examples include high end chocolates or cheeses, as customers might desire to be
connoisseurs in these two items instead of wine. It would seem that the cost of switching to one of
these products would be rather low for customers, indicating there could be some risk. Mondavi does
have many competitors in three different areas. The intensity of the rivalry amongst these competitors
makes this factor ranked next in importance. Per the case, the three types of competitors are rival

Chronicity and disability are major burden on an individual worldwide. Early habilitation and health
promotion through health teachings are the primary aim of nursing care to obtain optimum health and

intellectual disability and chronic illness. This essay will discuss the multiple health issues and health
impacts on a 45 year old man with Down syndrome (DS), Moderate Intellectual Disability (MID) and

Obesity is generally common in DS and as a result T2D may develop (de Winter, Bastiaanse,
Hilgenkamp, Evenhuis Echteld, 2011). The prevalence rate of Diabetes Mellitus diagnosed before age
20 in DS people had increased significantly over the past year due to diet and sedentary lifestyle
(Australian Institute and Health and Welfare, 2013). The predisposing factors of a person with DS and
MID to develop T2D are the same as in the general population. These factors include familial traits,
age (45 and above) obesity and sedentary lifestyle (Taggart, Coates Truesdale Kennedy, 2012).
Normally, the body uses insulin to breakdown the sugar and carbohydrates into glucose to use it for
energy. With T2D, the body does not produce enough insulin in order to convert the glucose into
energy or the body increases insulin resistance to the normal effects of insulin (Diabetes Australia,
2015). Based on the research literature, self management of the symptoms through education
regarding their diet and exercise given by Health Care Provider (HCP) can lead to better health
outcomes if the person is compliant. However, the presence of T2D is complicated and more
demanding for a person with DS and MID. There are many health problems associated with daily
management regime including food preparation particularly diabetic diet, being physically active,
monitoring and interpreting blood glucose level (BGL) and lastly

Upwind Discretization Model Essay
The second order upwind discretization model was used in this problem. The truncated error due to
selected terms in the Taylor series expansion is reduced and a more accurate solution is implied.
Fewer grid points are necessary to give the same level of accuracy.
∂u/∂x+u=0,〖(du/dx)〗_i + ui =0 u_(i 1)=u_i ∆x(du/dx)_i+(∆x^2)/2 ((d^2 u)/(dx^2 ))_i (∆x^3)/6
((d^3 u)/(dx^3 ))_i+0(∆x^4) u_(i 1)=u_i+∆x(du/dx)_i+(∆x^2)/2 ((d^2 u)/(dx^2 ))_i (∆x^3)/6 ((d^3
u)/(dx^3 ))_i+0(∆x^4)
The central differencing method is used to find an expression for d2u/dx2 in the form ui 1 +ui+1 u_(i
1)+u_(i+1)=〖2u〗_i+∆x^2 ((d^2 u)/(dx^2 ))_i+O(∆x^4) ((d^2 u)/(dx^2 ))_i=((u_(i 1) )+(u_(i 1) )
(2u_i))/(∆x^2 )
This is the discretised expression for d2u/dx2 and the truncation error is above O(∆x^2)

Coach At A Luxury Retailer Of Handbags And Accessories

Coach: Game to Win in Fashion
Introduction
Starting as a luxury retailer of handbags and accessories, having 17,200 employees, headquarter
located in New York, Coach now ranks No. 63 among the world s most valuable brands. It has an
estimated market capital of $11.7 billion as of May 2015, according to Forbes. Coach s products range
from handbags, gloves, hats, wallets, jewelry to perfume and body lotion.
Coach s vision says:
TO BECOME THE COMPANY That DEFINES GLOBAL MODERN LUXURY.
In the recent years since 2010s, its product ranges have been especially diversified, because the
company is planning on transition into a premium lifestyle brand , meaning instead of defining fashion
in handbags, Coach now wants to define fashion in many other things.
Coach s vision and core values mainly derives from the time of its establishment. People then value
quality and authenticity very much, and they can use one handbag for many years. When the bag gets
scratched or the zip is broken somehow, they re also willing to go and fix it, just in order to use it for a
longer time, because they re emotionally connected to the brand, and the handbag. All these values of
that time allows Coach to survive and flourish rapidly, developing a lot of loyal customers.
However, time changes, and Coach s first batch of customers are not the main group of people paying
for its products.
This paper mainly discusses coach s recent challenges

Career Choice As A Management Consultant
This report will be based on my career option, which will be the career choice as a Management
Consultant. After starting my designated Management degree I started to read about and take an
interest in the career path as Management Consultant, I am more interested in the Strategy side to the
role, as there are many different types of Management Consultants. I mostly read about the role online
and I would also talk to my cousin who is a Management consultant for Ernst Young. I shall compare
management consulting to strategy consulting within the report. A Management Consultant is a
consultant that is employed to resolves issues within a company and to maximize profits and to create
more value within the firm. As a Management Consultant you do not to the same type of job that
often, the consultant usually spends up to 6 months within a company and then moves on to another
firm, which will have different issues, compared to the previous firm and at the end of working for the
firm you have to write a full report on any recommendations.
Job Description
The definition of a Management Consultant role is to use their business skills to provide objective
advice and expertise and help an organisation to develop any specialist skills that it may be lacking

and maximise profits. Most consultants start off in a junior position, they then provided with training

The Women s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC), later known as the Women s Army Corps (WAC), was
composed of females serving as civilians in alliance with the Army. Over the duration of World War
II, around 600,000 women were requested to serve in the army, although the demand was never met
because many women preferred higher paying jobs on the homefront of in rival military auxiliaries.
Nevertheless, about 150,000 women served in the WAC throughout the war (Schafer 636).
Oveta Culp Hobby, the head of the Women s Interest section in the Bureau of Public Relations in the

Sullivan
Not only did Sullivan aesthetically use masonry in bank construction to impact modernism, but he
also used elaborate ornamentation. Notably, the use of ornamentation, in the way that Sullivan
grandiosely applied it, grew less and less by other architects during his time. However, Sullivan
noticed the importance of savoring aesthetic ornamentation, terra cotta decorative features , in
architecture and applied it to most of his buildings in varying degrees, but especially to his bank
designs (Karwatka 9). In fact Dankmar Adler, Sullivan s business partner for a time, felt Sullivan
displayed artistic intelligence unequaled by himself and soon delegated aesthetic matters to Sullivan
because Sullivan possessed a genius ability to fus[e] technology and artistic expression (Lewis 52;

One architectural critic, Thomas Tallmadge, did notice Sullivan s proper use of ornamentation in his

his push for functionality because banks held the monetary treasure of society; thus, it follows suit that
banks should carry a form that resembles their protection of the peoples treasure within. Therefore,
ornamentation, as Sullivan used it, contributed to the modern idea of functionality. Additionally
through his unique use of ornamentation on financial buildings, Sullivan encouraged a modern

The Depth Of The River Affect Its Overall Ph From Mid July...
Question: Does the depth of the river affect its overall pH from mid december 2015 to early january
2016?
Knowledge Probe: According to.epa.gov/acidrain/measure/pH.html, pH is a measure of the hydrogen
ion concentration of a solution. Solutions with a high concentration of hydrogen ions have a low pH
and solutions with a low concentrations of H+ ions have a high pH. A pH of 7 is the most neutral you
can get and 0 being the most acidic and 14 being the most basic. each level is 10 times more basic/
acidic than the previous level, for example a pH of 8 is 10 times more basic than 7, and a pH of 9 is
100 times more basic than 7. when an acidic substance reacts with a basic substance they counter each
other like mixing hot and cold water. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The blue bar grapH below it shows the pH of each of the 12 trial collected. The table below compares
the depth in inches to the pH directly, and the average of each is at the bottom of the table.
Data Analysis: On trial 5 something interesting happened where it did not match the trend of other
data points. you can see this when comparing the depth to pH with the grapHs; for example trial 1 s
depth and pH is lower than trial 2 s depth and pH, and trial 2 s depth and pH is lower than trial 3 s
depth and pH etc. that sort of trend is fluent through the data except trial 5 where depth was lower than
the previous trials but the pH was the highest collected. My data is accurate to a point but when
collecting the depth of the river it presented a challenge to get 100% accurate because it is constantly
changing; also the pH scale only measures to the hundredth of a digit. The pH Scales calibration could
also have been of slightly but all of my trials were collected under the same calibration so it does not
seem to present a change in trend but instead with the actual numbers.

The Influence Of The Roman Colosseum
Roman architecture has influenced our modern day society in many ways. One of the ways is by the
construction of the Roman Colosseum in 72 A.D. The Roman Colosseum was the first major stadium
or amphitheater to ever be built. Without the planning, construction, and techniques used for Roman
Colosseum, we would not have some of the famous stadiums and amphitheaters that exist today.
The Yankee Stadium and Staples Center are both examples of stadiums that were well influenced by
the Roman Colosseum. Many similar techniques were used to build the Colosseum, and were also
used in the making of these two stadiums. An example of a technique that was used during the
building of the Colosseum is the architectural design of the arches that are in the Great Hall of the
Yankee Stadium. They were built from a series of stone blocks that were placed in a certain way to
hold them together in the shape of an arch. Another example of important idea that the Romans
developed, and used often was organized labor. Organized labor was useful because it was a way of
sorting all the workers and their skills into the appropriate and corresponding jobs. It also provided a
working system including receiving breaks, lunches and some set work hours along with medical care
for when it was needed. Many other different techniques that the Romans created were used in the
making of other famous stadiums and amphitheaters and continue to be used today. The Roman
Colosseum was the first major stadium ever

Antisemitism is broken down into two areas both modern antisemitism, and political antisemitism, but
even before modern antisemitism and political antisemitism there was traditional antisemitism which
was spun off of Christian anti Judaism. The traditional way was created because Christians believed

How Did Italy Transition Into The Renaissance
The Islamic world enabled Europe s transition into the Renaissance by allowing Italy, the center of the
Renaissance, to prosper through trade with Venice, and by being the source of many of the writings
that Renaissance scholars studied.
Italy became the center of the Renaissance for one reason: money. It was necessary for a society to be
wealthy in order to support artists, for they were paid only through patronage. Patrons were the
people, or organizations, that would pay artists and scholars to work for them. Italy was certainly the
richest nation in Europe. The country generated wealth through two different forms. Its city states
were industrial powerhouses, each with its specific product. Florence made cloth, Milan made arms,
and Venice, the most economically successful Italian city state, profited from trade.
Venice, a city made up of hundred of islands on the northern tip of the Adriatic sea, was Venice was

Analysis Of George Orwell s Narrator In Shooting An Elephant
Fitting In: Orwell s Narrator in Shooting an Elephant
Since the publication of George Orwell s, Shooting an Elephant in 1936 many philosophers have
engaged in conversation about humanity, violence, politics, power, dominance, race, culture and
principles. Orwell was in fact a genius plain and simple, though in a very complicated way (Firchow
94). George Orwell brings you into his essay with lucid and vivid details the entire way starting from
the setting, I remember that it was a cloudy, stuffy morning at the beginning of the rains, (25) to the
characters attitudes towards one another, if a European woman went through the bazaars alone
somebody would probably spit betel juice over her dress (23). The essay starts with the narrator,
whom we assume is Orwell, a white man working as a sub divisional police officer in Moulmein,
Burma where the British have a colonized. Being English, the narrator Orwell is hated by many of the
natives, When a nimble Burman tripped me up on the football field and the referee (another Burman)

The Huang He River
Esteemed members of the UNESCO Board. The Huang He River, commonly referred to as the Yellow
River is a riverine landscape that flows from the West of China to the East, through nine Northern
Provinces. (Huang He Britannica, 2011) The rivers source (the Kunlun Mountains) are located at 36°N
and 84°E and its mouth (the Bohai Sea) is located at 38.7°N and 119.9°E. Located in China, this river
should be under the state of investigation by UNESCO due to the bad pollution the region is receiving.
The area s climate is cool winters, with temperatures dropping below 0°, and short dry summers.
Created by progressive erosion, the Huang He River Valleys give insights into Ancient Chinese
Civilisations. The River is affectionately named The Cradle of Ancient Chinese Civilisation. (Yellow
River WWF, 2013). The Riverine Landscape was formed by water flow erosion from its source; the
Kunlun mountains. This erosion has created valleys where the water currently flows downstream to
the Bohai Sea. The water s colour is yellow because of the masses of the fertile Loess sediments
deposited there, but often seen other colours due to pollution. This fertile soil has meant the land and
banks is traditionally excellent for crop farming for the locals, but in modern times, excessive
pollution has devastated this ability to farm freely. The river is known as having three main sections,
the upper reaches, the middle reaches, and the Lower reaches. (China Travel, 2009) The image below

Zumwalt Class Survivors Research Paper
In the world of military matters, the United States is on the forefront of military technology, tactics,
and personnel, especially with the recently commissioned Zumwalt Class Destroyers. Recently within
the U.S. Navy specifically, there have been many upgrades and changes, mainly due to the need for
upgrades within the many different areas of the fleet. With the newly designed Zumwalt class
currently being built by General Dynamics by Bath Iron Works, the Navy has done just that. The
Zumwalt Class Destroyers received their naming after the former US Navy Chief of Naval Operations,
Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt Jr, who served in the position from 1970 1974. Two of the ships are
currently being built and one, the USS Zumwalt DDG 1000, already beginning its sea trials. The
original plan was to build thirty two of these priced vessels back when the planning originally stated,
each with a price of $3.3 billion. Subsequently thought, over time price for each ship increase to more
than $9 billion, so the program was cut down to only three in 2009. These three ships will be the
largest ships ever built. Each ship comes out to be 610 ft. in length and over 15,000 tons when

Technology Is Transforming The Retail Experience
NFC Technology is Transforming the Retail Experience I am a completely forgetful person. I am not
proud to admit that, but the other day I was going to grab lunch and while in the drive thru at Wendy s,
I had the ungodly fear of realizing after I ordered that I had left my wallet back at the office.
Embarrassed and strapped for any excuse that didn t sound pathetic, the employee at the drive thru
informed me I could pay for my lunch with my smartphone. I had to download the My Wendy s app,
which contained a virtual card synced to my checking account. The downloading and setting up of the
account was rather quick although probably not as quick as the impatient people in line behind me
would have liked but the process was painless. Unlike using a credit or debit card, which could easily
be scanned by an unscrupulous employee, who could get access to my checking account, the
smartphone transaction is safe and my identity and checking account is protected. The Wave of the
Future Targeting a younger generation, who live and die by their cell phone, many retailers are
jumping on the mobile payment bandwagon. Starbucks has been the leader in mobile payment
technology. According to Seattle based coffee company s CEO, Howard Schultz, the Starbucks app
has accounted for 14 percent of all purchases. This new technology is rapidly changing how we buy

Pubius Cornelius Tacitus Essay
Pubius Cornelius Tacitus (55 118AD), was a historian from an equestrian family born in either norther
Italy or Southern Gaul who wrote Biography of Agricola in 98 AD followed by Histories in 105 AD.
The first document, an excerpt from Biography of Agricola 29 32 is a fictional speech from the British
war chief named Calgacus who was preparing his people for battle against Gnaes Julius Agricola the
governor of the Roman provinces in Briton from 78 85 AD and also Tacitus father in law. The second
document is an excerpt from Tacitus Histories 4.74 which is also a fictional speech. This speech given

Outline Discuss the Function of Families in Contemporary...
Outline discuss the function of families in contemporary UK society
The definition of the term family has somewhat gone through radical changes over the past few
decades in the UK, some 30 years ago a family was defined as being father, mother and children.
Some referred to this as the cereal box family as this was typically the type of family to be shown on
television commercials for cereal. This stereotype is more correctly known as the nuclear family,
however changes over the years has meant that this nuclear family is no longer a typical family type
within the UK. This has proven difficult for sociologists to provide a clear definition or generalisation
of the term family and such difficulties will be explored throughout ... Show more content on

The Marxist viewpoint on the family revolves around a capitalist society and believes that the nuclear
family is not a functionally necessary institution, although it is probably the best suited. However,
Marxists believe that the family bases itself upon private property and profit, whereby men marry and
then have children to pass on their profit to and women simply marry the men for financial security.
Together, Marxist feminists also revolve their viewpoint around a capitalist society but focus more on
the woman s role, rather than heirs and profit. They believe that the woman s primary role is based
within the home and therefore can be exploited as a source of cheap labour because she is dependant
on that of her husband s income. The woman, they believe, is a housewife doing home chores to
increase the father s ability to work and thus delivering more to society. Also, by nurturing and
teaching their children to become the next viable source of workers in the future, the woman is
helping society and saving on capitalisation costs. This therefore lays a foundation for their children to
be obedient later in life, punctual and altogether submit to their boss in later life, without the need for
society training these conformities, thus having cost nothing to the capitalist.
Other reasons suggest that the nuclear family is no longer suited or even the most frequent

Alter Public Space Research Paper
How does one alter public space? The altering of public spaces means to change the atmosphere of a
public area in either a positive or negative way. Some people alter public space based off their
appearance, and others with their actions. There are many ways to alter public space, and it happens
way more than one may realize. There are not many times in my life where I distinctly remember
altering public space, but there are a few significant times that stand out to me. The three most pivotal

Changes Brewing For African American History
Changes Brewing for African Americans in 1950s
Determined to write a play about African American experience in the United States for every decade
during the 20th century, Wilson has written many plays representing each of these decades. Fences is
one of such plays about African American in the 1950 s. It began in 1957 and ended in 1965; however,
the 1950s marks the time period when the struggle against segregation and racial discrimination
became strong in the mainstream of American life, showing that the wind of change was blowing.

This setting is noteworthy because of the industrial importance of the north to African Americans in
the decades preceding civil war. According to Richard, Troy Maxson s father a sharecropper was
frustrated by the fact that every crop took him further into depth (1018). Richard means that
economical state of the south was not favorable for sharecroppers and mostly backs. During that
period, poverty, racial discrimination and savage conditions in the south caused many blacks including
Troy and other men to migrate to the industrial north in search of a means of livelihood, but these men
were met with utter disappointment. With no infrastructure or resources to live on, men like Troy and
Bono resorted to living in shacks, committing crimes and ending up in jail. Wilson clearly shows a
relationship between the freeing of the slaves and disproportionate number of African American men
in jail as well as in low income occupations by contending that the majority of unequipped, resource
less and homeless group released into a competitive and financed society will find it difficult
surviving lawfully in such a society. Wilson s characters attest to the fact that the United States failed
African American after Abraham Lincoln ended slavery and that the United States failure, legalized
through Jim Crow laws and other measures taken lawfully to ensure inequality, continues to affect
many black lives. Wilson depicts the 1950s as a time period when new doors of

Data Warehousing Is A Single Repository Or Storage Of Data...
1. INTRODUCTION
Data warehousing is a single repository or storage of data integrated from different sources which
allows the business and the organization to generate a report or analysis to make decisions based on
those data. Data warehousing is an integral part of any organization as it helps to increase the
efficiency of the decision makers by integrating and transforming the data from multiple incompatible
sources to the consistent and meaningful information which allows them to perform accurate,
consistent and substantive analysis of data(P. 1152).
The data stored in data warehouse will not provide any benefit to the organization until the hidden
information is extracted from it. There are various way to extract the data, however data mining is the
best method to get the meaningful trends and patterns from the data warehouse. Therefore, data
mining can be defined as the method of extracting the valid, comprehensible and previously unknown
information from the huge storage to use on the decision making process (P. 1233).
This report will presents the various features of data mining tools and emphasize the importance of
data mining to realize the value of data warehouse.

Whether you are currently involved in divorce proceedings or you have been divorced or separated for
a while, if there are children involved, child support might be an ongoing battle. If you are the parent
getting the child support, you likely want to make sure your children are properly cared for financially.
If you are the parent paying the child support, you want your children to be cared for financially, but
you also do not want to pay more than your fair share for the care of your children. There are several
things you should understand about child support according to Minnesota law.
Who Can Ask for Child Support?
Generally, the custodial parent will get child support from the non custodial parent. This can happen
after a divorce or legal separation, as well as between parents who were never married. If there is a

There are several factors that go into determining child support payments. This includes both parents
gross income, the number of children, and the custodial arrangement. For example, a parent who has
the child for three days a week will pay less in child support than a parent who only sees the child a
few hours a month. The parent who has the child more often is likely already paying more for the
child s needs and expenses.
When it comes to calculating the actual financial support needed for a child, expenses can be divided
into three categories. The first, basic support, includes things like housing, food, clothing, education,
transportation, and other expenses associated with raising a child. The second area is medical support.
This includes the cost of health and dental insurance and costs associated with medical and dental care
for the child. The final category is child care support, which covers day care costs for the child while
the parents are working. Some of these costs will stay pretty steady throughout your child s life while
others will go up or down depending upon the family s

Century BCE. As Plato got older he experienced two events that changed his life before he knew it
which were meeting his teacher Socrates, the great Greek philosopher, and the Peloponnesian War
where Plato himself was a part of for five years. Soon after the war ended, Plato had considered to
uphold a career in politics, but sadly the death of his mentor turned him away from the idea and
decided to turn to his profession he continued to do throughout his lifetime, which is to study life and
philosophy. He traveled to several parts of Italy and Egypt for 12 years, searching and studying forms

The 50 Mph M The Story Of Ted Jensen
THE 50 MPH MAN: The Story of Ted Jensen
~
The story of the most EXTRAORDINARY man to ever live starts at the most ORDINARY place: the
bus stop.
25 year old Ted Jensen sat on a rusty bench in the pouring rain, waiting for his bus to come. He was
about to go to a job interview in the city, but his luck would change soon enough.
The dirty old bus came into view, seeming to drive much faster than the speed limit. Ted noticed that
something was wrong, but before he could think of what it was, the bus flew right past him.
This interview was way too important to miss. Ted knew that if he didn t make it on time, his chances
of getting another good job would be slim. He knew what to do. Ted got up and ran as fast as he could
to catch the speeding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ted entered the track at full speed, and circled the entire track in less than 20 seconds, speeding past
all other runners so fast, he was barely visible.
Ted stopped at the coach near the bleachers and asked: What was my time? Not looking exhausted at
all. The coach stared at his stopwatch, and seemed very surprised. Only 18.62 seconds! A new record!
The runners heard this and stopped immediately to see exactly who got the record.
I ll bet you re faster than any man alive! The coach announced. I will sign you up for a race in the city
as soon as possible, because that was truly remarkable! Have you ever run in an organized race
before? He asked. Ted shook his head.
You could win yourself a lot of cash this way! Coach replied.
And suddenly, Ted could see his new future in his head. Yes, there would be a bit of money involved,
maybe more than only a bit...
~ Ted bent down at the starting line, as ready as ever, for he d been training for the last three weeks,
after the high school track coach signed him up. There were 7 other adults lined up horizontally next
to him. Hundreds of people were sitting in the bleachers. Not many people had recognized him yet,
but they would be blown away soon enough.
ON YOUR MARKS!
(Silence)
BLAM! Goes the gun, and everyone started their trot.
Meanwhile, as for Ted, he

Acute Stress Response
Abstract
People deal with stressful situations differently. However, there is an obvious fear when someone
suddenly encounters a frightening situation. The acute stress response is a sudden reaction of the body
prompted by a psychological disturbance over a short period. Most psychologists refer to the condition
as the fight or flight response. When a person experiences a sudden physical or mental scare, the
response is very fast. A person might decide to fight back the terrifying element or to run away, which
signifies the flight aspect of the response (Lee, 2004). By 1920, few people understand this concept
until Walter Cannon tried to establish the reason why an adrenaline rush occurs when an individual
encounters a distressing situation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the mind records such a situation, remembrances and flashbacks become automatic. There are
people who should not revisit a place that reminds them of the situation. Ordinarily, people with
traumatic stress disorder often remember an encounter by revisiting the place of the incidence. On the
other hand, people with acute stress response react in the same way even when they imaging that the
fear factor is around them during a particular time. The condition automatically increases the heart
beat and the blood pressure when an individual associates a scenario with the distressing condition
(Fink, 2000). Some people go to the extent of vomiting or increasing body temperatures because
certain images or objects cause fear in them. The people suffering from acute stress response are likely
to expect the outcomes of an action before engaging in an activity. Largely, this response is normal,
but there are people who sweat and shake before going through the exercise because they fear the
outcome of the activity. There is an element of associating the past with the present, which generates
fear while increasing

Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy
The Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) established by WIPO is an online domain name
dispute resolution system for domain name disputes and is commonly referred to as the ICANN
Policy. This Policy possesses the advantages of being quicker and more cost effective. ICANN was
formed in 1999 with the one of its objectives is to deal with the problem of cybersquatting in a
comprehensive manner outside the judicial system. Therefore, WIPO s Uniform Dispute Resolution
Policy was adopted by ICANN on 24th October, 1999. To bring a dispute under the UDRP, certain
general requirements must be met. First, the challenged domain name must have been registered by
the registrant and be in the process of being used by that registrant in bad faith .

Application Of The Principles Of Primary Health Care
This individual reflection on the group work will present how I have seen the application of the
principles of Primary Health Care (PHC) through the roles of the community health workers (CHW)
in making health care more accessible. In addition, some strategies will be suggested to address the
critical bottlenecks that hinder the effectiveness of the CHWs. Having the experience of working as a
District Health Officer, this reflection will highlight most significant areas that I feel require attention
to improve the health system in the country. This reflection will be based on the two case studies of
CHWs in Malawi and Sri Lanka namely, the Health Surveillance Assistants (HSAs) and Eye Health
Promoters, respectively.
Application of PHC Principles in the Case Studies
Equity
There is strong evidence of equity in the case of the HSAs in Malawi and the Eye Heath Promoters in
Sri Lanka. By using the Eye Health Promoter program from Sri Lanka whereby people older than 60
years form the Elder s Clubs as forums for getting preventive health services such as eye screening,
Non Communicable Disease screenings, health education as well as discussing cultural issues, child
care, and food security, it is possible to ensure continuation of care that we provide to patients through
outreach clinics or medical or cataract surgical camps in Malawi without follow up by using similar
established groups in the community. These programs are reaching rural and vulnerable groups of
people who would

  • 2. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, by Haruki Murakami, 100 Years... Magical realism, as described by Michael Woods, is not a style of writing, just a modest fidelity to the magic of reality in places where we are not. Woods goes on to tell his audience of the allure of magical realism by explaining that reality in foreign places are more enchanting and exciting than probably anything a reader could think of. Woods sets out vague principles of what magical realism rarely resorts to. His list includes: dates, recognizable city streets, historical personages, diaries, gritty descriptions, invitations to look things up in the newspapers.... Although Nutmeg mentions her job and work through the latter half of the novel it is never clear what she does and how Toru helps her. Why was the well dry? Who was that faceless man? Although the author gives a general idea about the answers to the questions, it is still left unclear of the correct answer and is up for interpretation. Dante s Inferno also leaves the reader with more questions than answers. In Inferno, symbolism is extremely obvious yet Dante still leaves certain questions unanswered. The story never reveals why those in Hell are only punished for a single sin rather than more than one sin or why he only cares about those suffering in Hell who are from Florence and choses to ignore those some while he talks to others. Dante stays predominantly compliant to Woods list of things that a magically realistic rarely does. Even though Dante makes reference to historic personages, he makes note of them for their reason in Hell from their past. To a reader of present time, the dates (Good Friday to Easter Sunday of the year 1300) seem almost irrelevant and one would find it rather difficult to find a newspaper entry on something from the fourteenth century. A component of Inferno is that while Dante is experiencing and traveling through Hell, he finds none of this out of the ordinary. In fact, he wonders why he was picked to participate in this shamanistic journey. Woods tells, Hell is real or imaginary, strange or all too ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Edgar Allan Poe Strengths And Weaknesses Essay Strength vs. Weakness Edgar Allan Poe s short story, The Cask of Amontillado , can be categorized as an American Gothic literary piece due to Poe s selection of elements introduced by the narrator, whom s name is later revealed as Montresor, regarding the gloomy, mysterious, suspenseful and terror filled atmosphere. These elements can be defined as tropes. Specific characteristics of the genre are depicted throughout the plot by the narrations provided, such being the greatly spacious and empty palazzo of the narrator, the subterranean passages, the catacombs, the human remains, and the torches, or also knows as flambeaus. • 5. Mondavi Five Forces Analysis The Five Forces and Mondavi The competitive forces that shape company strategy are very important to consider in any organization. However, they are especially important when an organization s forces fall closer to the intense side on the scale between intense forces and benign forces. Almost no company earns attractive returns on investment when forces are intense, like those in industries that sell luxury goods. (Porter, 2008). Yet, Robert Mondavi s wineries have leveraged the five forces (barriers to entry, bargaining power of suppliers/buyers, threat of substitutes, and competitive rivalry) in order to maintain consistent profits. The five forces are discussed in detail below with the level of importance increasing throughout the descriptions. While bargaining power of buyers is ranked the least important of the five factors for Mondavi s strategy, its importance should not be understated. One of the Wine is typically sold to wholesalers who then distribute to retail outlets. With the decreasing number of wholesalers and the consolidation of retailers, buyers negotiating power is increasing. It is difficult for companies like Mondavi to make consistent profits and maintain market share if they cannot keep products on retailers shelves. The second least important factor in Mondavi s corporate strategy is the threat of substitutes. A substitute offering arises when there is a product in a different industry that can satisfy the same need as the product a company sells. If one looks at wine as an alcoholic beverage, there really is no substitute for wine, as beer and liquor are technically in the same industry. However, if seen as a luxury item that s purpose is for the experience, there are some substitutes for wine. Examples include high end chocolates or cheeses, as customers might desire to be connoisseurs in these two items instead of wine. It would seem that the cost of switching to one of these products would be rather low for customers, indicating there could be some risk. Mondavi does have many competitors in three different areas. The intensity of the rivalry amongst these competitors makes this factor ranked next in importance. Per the case, the three types of competitors are rival ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The prevalence rate of Diabetes Mellitus diagnosed before age 20 in DS people had increased significantly over the past year due to diet and sedentary lifestyle (Australian Institute and Health and Welfare, 2013). The predisposing factors of a person with DS and MID to develop T2D are the same as in the general population. These factors include familial traits, age (45 and above) obesity and sedentary lifestyle (Taggart, Coates Truesdale Kennedy, 2012). Normally, the body uses insulin to breakdown the sugar and carbohydrates into glucose to use it for energy. With T2D, the body does not produce enough insulin in order to convert the glucose into energy or the body increases insulin resistance to the normal effects of insulin (Diabetes Australia, 2015). Based on the research literature, self management of the symptoms through education regarding their diet and exercise given by Health Care Provider (HCP) can lead to better health outcomes if the person is compliant. • 16. The Influence Of The Roman Colosseum Roman architecture has influenced our modern day society in many ways. One of the ways is by the construction of the Roman Colosseum in 72 A.D. The Roman Colosseum was the first major stadium or amphitheater to ever be built. Without the planning, construction, and techniques used for Roman Colosseum, we would not have some of the famous stadiums and amphitheaters that exist today. The Yankee Stadium and Staples Center are both examples of stadiums that were well influenced by the Roman Colosseum. Many similar techniques were used to build the Colosseum, and were also used in the making of these two stadiums. An example of a technique that was used during the building of the Colosseum is the architectural design of the arches that are in the Great Hall of the Yankee Stadium. They were built from a series of stone blocks that were placed in a certain way to hold them together in the shape of an arch. Another example of important idea that the Romans developed, and used often was organized labor. Organized labor was useful because it was a way of sorting all the workers and their skills into the appropriate and corresponding jobs. It also provided a working system including receiving breaks, lunches and some set work hours along with medical care for when it was needed. How Did Italy Transition Into The Renaissance The Islamic world enabled Europe s transition into the Renaissance by allowing Italy, the center of the Renaissance, to prosper through trade with Venice, and by being the source of many of the writings that Renaissance scholars studied. Italy became the center of the Renaissance for one reason: money. It was necessary for a society to be wealthy in order to support artists, for they were paid only through patronage. Patrons were the people, or organizations, that would pay artists and scholars to work for them. Italy was certainly the richest nation in Europe. The country generated wealth through two different forms. Its city states were industrial powerhouses, each with its specific product. Orwell was in fact a genius plain and simple, though in a very complicated way (Firchow 94). The essay starts with the narrator, whom we assume is Orwell, a white man working as a sub divisional police officer in Moulmein, Burma where the British have a colonized. Being English, the narrator Orwell is hated by many of the natives, When a nimble Burman tripped me up on the football field and the referee (another Burman) looked the other way, the crowd yelled with hideous laughter (Orwell 23). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Marxist viewpoint on the family revolves around a capitalist society and believes that the nuclear family is not a functionally necessary institution, although it is probably the best suited. However, Marxists believe that the family bases itself upon private property and profit, whereby men marry and then have children to pass on their profit to and women simply marry the men for financial security. Together, Marxist feminists also revolve their viewpoint around a capitalist society but focus more on the woman s role, rather than heirs and profit. They believe that the woman s primary role is based within the home and therefore can be exploited as a source of cheap labour because she is dependant on that of her husband s income. The woman, they believe, is a housewife doing home chores to increase the father s ability to work and thus delivering more to society. Also, by nurturing and teaching their children to become the next viable source of workers in the future, the woman is helping society and saving on capitalisation costs. This therefore lays a foundation for their children to be obedient later in life, punctual and altogether submit to their boss in later life, without the need for society training these conformities, thus having cost nothing to the capitalist. • 42. Acute Stress Response Abstract People deal with stressful situations differently. However, there is an obvious fear when someone suddenly encounters a frightening situation. The acute stress response is a sudden reaction of the body prompted by a psychological disturbance over a short period. Most psychologists refer to the condition as the fight or flight response. When a person experiences a sudden physical or mental scare, the response is very fast. A person might decide to fight back the terrifying element or to run away, which signifies the flight aspect of the response (Lee, 2004). By 1920, few people understand this concept until Walter Cannon tried to establish the reason why an adrenaline rush occurs when an individual encounters a distressing situation. ... There are people who should not revisit a place that reminds them of the situation. Ordinarily, people with traumatic stress disorder often remember an encounter by revisiting the place of the incidence. The condition automatically increases the heart beat and the blood pressure when an individual associates a scenario with the distressing condition (Fink, 2000). Some people go to the extent of vomiting or increasing body temperatures because certain images or objects cause fear in them. The people suffering from acute stress response are likely to expect the outcomes of an action before engaging in an activity. Largely, this response is normal, but there are people who sweat and shake before going through the exercise because they fear the outcome of the activity. There is an element of associating the past with the present, which generates fear while increasing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Application Of The Principles Of Primary Health Care This individual reflection on the group work will present how I have seen the application of the principles of Primary Health Care (PHC) through the roles of the community health workers (CHW) in making health care more accessible. In addition, some strategies will be suggested to address the critical bottlenecks that hinder the effectiveness of the CHWs. Having the experience of working as a District Health Officer, this reflection will highlight most significant areas that I feel require attention to improve the health system in the country. This reflection will be based on the two case studies of CHWs in Malawi and Sri Lanka namely, the Health Surveillance Assistants (HSAs) and Eye Health Promoters, respectively. Application of PHC Principles in the Case Studies Equity There is strong evidence of equity in the case of the HSAs in Malawi and the Eye Heath Promoters in Sri Lanka. By using the Eye Health Promoter program from Sri Lanka whereby people older than 60 years form the Elder s Clubs as forums for getting preventive health services such as eye screening, Non Communicable Disease screenings, health education as well as discussing cultural issues, child care, and food security, it is possible to ensure continuation of care that we provide to patients through outreach clinics or medical or cataract surgical camps in Malawi without follow up by using similar established groups in the community.
