This document discusses Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), an infection of the female reproductive organs that is often caused by sexually transmitted bacteria. PID symptoms can range from mild to severe abdominal pain and irregular bleeding or discharge. The infection spreads from the vagina to the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries if left untreated, and can potentially cause infertility or life-threatening complications. Doctors diagnose PID through pelvic exams, ultrasounds and tests. Treatment involves antibiotics, though severe cases may require hospitalization or rarely, surgery. Practicing safe sex and getting tested for infections can help prevent PID.

Vaginal yeast infections, also calledcandida vaginal infections or candidiasis, are common and easily treated in most women. Candida is a fungus. It commonly exists in small amounts in the vagina, mouth and gastrointestinal tract. When the fungus overgrows in the vagina, a yeast infection develops. This causes uncomfortable symptoms such as vaginal itching, burning and discharge.
Various conditions can cause vaginal symptoms similar to a yeast infection. A yeast infection is an overgrowth of yeast cells in the vagina that causes itching, irritation, and discharge. Symptoms are more common before a period and are usually caused by the Candida albicans yeast. Treatment involves antifungal medications applied internally or taken by mouth. Recurrent infections may require identifying an underlying condition favoring yeast overgrowth.
What Causes Vaginal Yeast Infection to OccurHua Xia
There are a lot of people who are wondering what causes vaginal yeast infection and how they can treat it. Since most symptoms of the condition are barely noticeable, women who have yeast infection do not really know they have it until the condition has turned for the worse. As such, knowing about the symptoms and causes can be a big help in knowing what to look out for during a yeast infection.

Vaginitis" refers to any infection or inflammation of the vagina or vulva. Symptoms can include itching, burning, and abnormal discharge but over 40% of women experience no symptoms. Multiple organisms or irritants can cause vaginitis and it is important to receive a proper diagnosis from a doctor in order to receive the correct treatment. While some forms can be treated with over-the-counter medications, it is best to see a doctor to ensure the cause is identified and treated appropriately. Maintaining good hygiene and sexual health can help prevent vaginitis.
PID is the acronym for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease often termed Female Genital Infection. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease is an infection in the female reproductive organs that includes organs like the uterus, fallopian tube, and ovaries spreading upwards from the cervix to the uterus. The common bacteria involved in the cause of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease are Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria Gonorrhoeae.

For sexually active women, lower genital tract infections are very common reasons for seeking medical care. The three most common causes are bacterial vaginosis (40-50% of cases), candidiasis (20-30% of cases), and trichomoniasis (20-30% of cases). These infections can cause symptoms like abnormal discharge and irritation. Left untreated, they may lead to serious complications, especially during pregnancy when they increase risks for the mother and baby. Proper diagnosis and treatment with antibiotics can resolve most cases.
This document provides information about vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection). It describes the patient's symptoms of itching, burning and discharge. The diagnosis involves a medical history, pelvic exam and lab tests. Vaginal candidiasis is caused by an overgrowth of the Candida fungus due to factors like antibiotics or hormonal changes. Treatment involves antifungal creams, tablets or suppositories. Untreated infections can spread and lower immunity. Prevention includes a healthy diet and lifestyle habits.
Untreated pelvic inflammatory disease can cause permanent damage to reproductive organs. It is caused by bacteria like gonorrhea and chlamydia spreading from the vagina to the uterus, fallopian tubes, or ovaries. Symptoms include abdominal and pelvic pain, unusual discharge, bleeding between periods or after sex, painful urination, and fever. Risk factors include young age, multiple sexual partners, lack of condom use, and douching. Complications can include ectopic pregnancy, infertility, chronic pelvic pain, and abscesses. Treatment involves antibiotics and abstaining from sex until symptoms resolve to prevent reinfection.
Urinary tract infections are a common complication for pregnant women. Bacteria can enter the urethra and travel up into the bladder, where pressure from the fetus can trap it and cause an infection. Symptoms include pain or burning during urination, cloudy or bloody urine, and pelvic or back pain. Nearly 18% of pregnant women develop a UTI, so it's important to drink water, empty the bladder frequently, and avoid harsh soaps to help prevent infections, which can increase the risk of preterm labor if not treated promptly with antibiotics.

Common symptoms include pelvic pain and abnormal vaginal discharge. It is diagnosed through medical history, physical exam, tests to detect infections, and imaging. Treatment involves antibiotics to treat the infection and prevent long term complications, which can include infertility, ectopic pregnancy, and chronic pelvic pain if left untreated. Prevention focuses on barrier contraceptive use and early treatment of STIs.
Planning for Parenthood with PID-How to Get Pregnant Safely.pptxFFragrant
The document discusses planning for pregnancy safely with a history of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). It advises against pregnancy during acute PID due to risk of exacerbating symptoms. Chronic PID can also affect the fallopian tubes and endometrium, increasing risks of ectopic pregnancy or impaired embryo implantation. Pregnancy further complicates PID by aggravating inflammation and limiting medication options. The document recommends ensuring PID is completely treated and symptoms controlled before considering pregnancy, and maintaining preventative hygiene and lifestyle practices.
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have been present since ancient times. The World Health Organization estimated 340 million new STI cases in 1999 among people aged 15-49, most occurring in South/Southeast Asia. STIs are transmitted primarily through unprotected sex but some can also be transmitted through blood or from mother to child. Common STIs in Sri Lanka include genital herpes, genital warts, syphilis, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis which are caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites. While some STIs can be cured with treatment, others like genital herpes can cause recurring outbreaks.
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a disease of the upper genital tract seen in women between 15 – 45 years of age and involves uterus (womb), fallopian tubes, ovaries and other areas within the pelvis. The infection affects the surface lining in all the above organs leading to damage with short and long term health implications.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

GASTROINTESTINAL INFECTIONS AND GASTRITIS
Osvaldo Bernardo Muchanga
Gastrointestinal Infections
GASTROINTESTINAL INFECTIONS result from the ingestion of pathogens that cause infections at the level of this tract, generally being transmitted by food, water and hands contaminated by microorganisms such as E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio cholerae, Campylobacter, Staphylococcus, Rotavirus among others that are generally contained in feces, thus configuring a FECAL-ORAL type of transmission.
Among the factors that lead to the occurrence of gastrointestinal infections are the hygienic and sanitary deficiencies that characterize our markets and other places where raw or cooked food is sold, poor environmental sanitation in communities, deficiencies in water treatment (or in the process of its plumbing), risky hygienic-sanitary habits (not washing hands after major and/or minor needs), among others.
These are generally consequences (signs and symptoms) resulting from gastrointestinal infections: diarrhea, vomiting, fever and malaise, among others.
The treatment consists of replacing lost liquids and electrolytes (drinking drinking water and other recommended liquids, including consumption of juicy fruits such as papayas, apples, pears, among others that contain water in their composition).
To prevent this, it is necessary to promote health education, improve the hygienic-sanitary conditions of markets and communities in general as a way of promoting, preserving and prolonging PUBLIC HEALTH.
Gastritis and Gastric Health
Gastric Health is one of the most relevant concerns in human health, with gastrointestinal infections being among the main illnesses that affect humans.
Among gastric problems, we have GASTRITIS AND GASTRIC ULCERS as the main public health problems. Gastritis and gastric ulcers normally result from inflammation and corrosion of the walls of the stomach (gastric mucosa) and are generally associated (caused) by the bacterium Helicobacter pylor, which, according to the literature, this bacterium settles on these walls (of the stomach) and starts to release urease that ends up altering the normal pH of the stomach (acid), which leads to inflammation and corrosion of the mucous membranes and consequent gastritis or ulcers, respectively.
In addition to bacterial infections, gastritis and gastric ulcers are associated with several factors, with emphasis on prolonged fasting, chemical substances including drugs, alcohol, foods with strong seasonings including chilli, which ends up causing inflammation of the stomach walls and/or corrosion. of the same, resulting in the appearance of wounds and consequent gastritis or ulcers, respectively.
Among patients with gastritis and/or ulcers, one of the dilemmas is associated with the foods to consume in order to minimize the sensation of pain and discomfort.

2. For most women, a little vaginal discharge is
perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.
However, when that discharge becomes excessive,
leading to wet underwear and frequent panty
changes, it could be a sign that something more
serious is going on – like pelvic inflammatory
disease (PID).
3. PID is an inflammatory condition that affects the
female reproductive organs located in the pelvic
region, including the uterus, fallopian tubes, and
ovaries. While the symptoms can sometimes be mild,
such as lower abdominal pain and abnormal vaginal
discharge, PID can also cause more severe issues like
fever and urinary problems if left untreated.
4. The Dangers of Delaying Treatment
Seeking prompt medical evaluation is crucial if PID is
suspected, as the condition can worsen over time if
not properly treated. This is because PID can be
caused by a variety of bacterial strains, some of which
may require different antibiotic regimens to effectively
clear the infection.
5. Delaying treatment allows the bacteria to continue
multiplying and the inflammation to spread,
increasing the risk of serious complications like
abscesses, scarring, and even infertility in some
cases. Timely intervention with appropriate
antibiotics is key to resolving the infection before
permanent damage occurs.
6. Not Just PID - Other Potential Culprits
While pelvic inflammatory disease is certainly one possible
explanation for excessive wetness "down there", it's important
to note that abnormal vaginal discharge can also be a
symptom of other gynecological conditions, such as:
- Vaginitis (bacterial, yeast, or trichomoniasis infections)
- Cervicitis (inflammation of the cervix)
- Cervical polyps or lesions
- Uterine fibroids or endometrial issues
7. The type of discharge can sometimes provide clues
about the underlying cause – for example, a thick,
white, clumpy discharge may point to a yeast
infection, while a thin, gray, foul-smelling discharge
could indicate bacterial vaginosis.
8. Don't Ignore, Investigate!
No matter the cause, one thing is certain–excessive
vaginal discharge and wet underwear should never be
ignored. If you experience these symptoms, especially
if accompanied by pelvic pain, fever, or other
worrisome signs, make an appointment with your
gynecologist right away.
9. They can perform the necessary tests, such as
evaluating your discharge, taking cultures, and
potentially doing imaging studies, to get to the root
of what's going on. From there, an appropriate
treatment plan can be developed, whether that
involves antibiotics, antifungal medications, or
herbal medicine Fuyan Pill.
10. The bottom line is, your underwear shouldn't be
soaking wet on a regular basis. If it is, don't be
embarrassed–listen to what your body is trying to
tell you and get it checked out. Catching and
treating issues like pelvic inflammatory disease early
can prevent a whole host of potential complications
down the road.

and treatment, contact our experts. Most
