TSMC proposes a refreshed 6nm chipset for Sony's next generation PS5 scheduled for 2023, offering cost reductions and performance improvements over the current 7nm chipset. The 6nm chipset would be 15% smaller, use EUV lithography, and provide an estimated 8.5-10% cost reduction. TSMC, AMD, and Sony have a long partnership and are well positioned to deliver the new chipset on schedule in 2022 for a January 2023 PS5 launch.
