World War II involved massive land battles across Europe between Allied and Axis forces from 1942 to 1945. Major Allied military leaders like Montgomery, Patton, Bradley, and Alexander led multiple army groups against Axis armies in campaigns across Western, Central, and Eastern Europe that eventually led to the defeat of Nazi Germany.
The document lists various gift items from different artists and designers including bottle openers, stuffed animals, jewelry, scarves, pottery, glass ornaments, books, and lunchboxes. The gifts represented are handmade and come from companies like Areaware, Cardboard Safari, Jellycat, and Sam Stang Glass.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) needed to reduce costs in IT but at the same time increase responsiveness to the business units of this Health Care services company. In February 2012, their IT infrastructure operations and data center was outsourced to Fujitsu North America, but then BCBSNC needed to figure out how to manage the huge anticipated transformation to ITIL v3 and improved services, the contract, and the demand for services. This was their first major outsourcing engagement and it brought tremendous changes to the organization, both in the IT area and also in the company at large. At the 2013 IAOP Outsourcing World Summit, the speakers discussed this project, as well as the inception of the Enterprise sourcing office which was created at the same time. The development of the governance program, creation of the governance team, selection and prioritization of processes for deployment, organizational change and transformation approach, process development, and rollout of processes to ensure compliance were covered.
What teen learners can learn from childrenLeo Selivan
It is commonly believed that children are better at learning foreign languages than older learners. Do we lose our language learning ability with age or do we change our approach to language learning? In this talk I look at some successful strategies child learners use which teenage learners can draw on and their teachers can tap into.

According to Wiener's metaphysical view, the universe is made up of matter-energy and information that is continuously mixing. Everything in the world, including human beings, exists as a combination of these and can be thought of as "information objects". Wiener believed that thinking is a form of information processing. He also adopted three "Great Principles of Justice" to describe how human beings can flourish through freedom, equality, and goodwill between individuals.

The maintenance of bridges as a key element in transportation infrastructure has become a major concern due to increasing traffic volumes, deterioration of existing bridges and well-publicised bridge failures. The main goal of this study is to develop a requirements-driven decision support methodology for remediation of concrete bridges with the aim of maintaining bridge assets within acceptable limits of safety, serviceability and sustainability. The proposed model includes two phases:
Phase one is focused on condition assessment and priority ranking of bridge projects which makes use of an integrated priority index addressing a variety of factors. Phase two includes a multi criteria decision making technique which is able to select the best remediation strategy at both project and network level. The modified Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) is used as a decision analysis tool that employs the eigenvector approach of the Analytical Hierarchy
Process (AHP) for criteria weighting
This document provides tips for effective note-taking in class. It recommends focusing on key facts, writing down examples, and rewriting notes after class to fill in gaps. Specific strategies include sitting up front, writing down unusual facts, problems, and repeated concepts. It also suggests ways to correctly use a calculator during note-taking such as writing down keystrokes instead of stopping to calculate.

With the rapid proliferation of services and cloud computing, Big Data has become a significant phenomenon across many scientific disciplines and sectors of society, wherever huge amounts of data are generated and processed daily. End users will always seek higher-quality data access at lower prices. This demand poses challenges
to service composers, service providers and data providers, who should maintain their
service and data provision as cost-effectively as possible. This paper will apply bio inspired approaches to achieving equilibrium among the otherwise competitive stakeholders. In addition to novel models of cost for Big Data provision, bio-inspired algorithms will be developed and validated for dynamic optimisation. Furthermore, the optimised algorithms will also be applied in the data-mining research on the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) experiment, which is aiming to find dark matter in the universe. This experiment typically receives 200G and generates 700G data daily.
This document consists of exam questions related to two fictional businesses - Classic Clothes and Fine Furniture. For Classic Clothes, the questions cover capital intensive production, analyzing financial statements, factors to consider for new equipment financing, and impacts of Just-in-Time manufacturing. For Fine Furniture, the questions address the secondary sector, leadership styles, calculating margin of safety for a new product line, strengths and weaknesses of family businesses, and potential human resource issues from cost-cutting plans. The document provides background information on each company and tables of financial data to reference in answering the exam questions.
At the 2013 ISG Sourcing Industry Conference, a panel of experts from ISG, WilmerHale and IBM discusss how commercial agreements will evolve going forward.
