Amazon must do more to combat counterfeit salesDarran Blatch
Amazon has witnessed phenomenal growth and is widely recognised for becoming a front
leader in innovation, boosting its R&D on exciting technological advancements, such as in
drones and robotics. However, in the midst of all this success, the company has been
incredibly ineffective in tackling the ever increasing problem of counterfeit products being
sold on both its US and global sites, including the UK.
European retailers are expanding their online grocery offerings to provide more convenient options like quicker delivery times and click-and-collect services. Major trends include home delivery from stores or warehouses, collecting pre-ordered goods from grocery stores, and drive-through pickup from dedicated pickup locations. The online grocery market is growing in Europe and the UK, but still only accounts for a small portion of total grocery sales. Leading retailers like Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, and Ocado are expanding their online presence through new delivery and pickup options to gain a larger share of this growing market.
The document discusses how everyday devices like smartphones are becoming conduits of commerce through the internet of things. It notes barriers to this trend including connectivity issues, inconsistent user experiences, and privacy/security concerns. A key finding is that while people are using smartphones for various activities weekly, digital commerce spend on devices remains relatively low.

Each year, memBrain LLC attends CES® to gather intelligence on hot new products and to identify emerging trends and industries.
This special edition of memBrain’s magazine, The STORM Report, is a compilation of memBrain’s observations from the CES® show floor combined with the most “buzzed about” products according to leading industry publications, industry insiders, and the CES® 2020 Innovation Award winners.
With thousands of new products vying for attention at CES®, it is easy to become overwhelmed. But the overarching trends and themes of the show offer an excellent window into what to expect in the near and not-too-distant future. In fact, it seemed as if the innovation on display this year was remarkably more focused on the present than on a future utopia, which was a departure from CES® events of the past.
While previous years felt like a showcase for moonshots and futuristic idealism, this year’s CES® was far more balanced between the practical and the fantastical. The consumer electronics industry is maturing - optimizing between commercialization, technological progress, and the next generation of disruptive products.

Infographic: The Internet of Things and the Ecosystem AdvantageAppDirect
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a growing network of physical objects embedded with sensors that can connect and share data. While consumer fitness trackers are a visible example of IoT, the true potential is in enterprise applications, which are expected to account for almost 40% of IoT devices by 2020. The market value of IoT is already measured in the trillions of dollars and growing rapidly. For companies to take advantage of IoT opportunities, ecosystems of device, software, and platform providers will be critical as no single company can master the entire IoT value chain alone. The greatest barrier to enterprise IoT adoption is lack of interoperability between devices and software in different ecosystems.
