The document provides an overview of project management concepts including understanding success, defining project goals and requirements, different project types, and the project lifecycle. Key points include:
- Project success requires delivering organizational benefit and meeting objectives, not just technical functionality.
- Goals and requirements must be clearly defined, and each requirement tied to a project goal.
- Iterative projects allow for greater visibility, risk reduction, and incorporation of feedback compared to waterfall projects.
- The project lifecycle involves initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing phases, with the planning phase including developing the project plan and work breakdown structure.
Flawless Project Delivery is discipline that merges risk management, leading edge statistical analysis, advanced people management and leadership skills. Flawless Project Execution The Road To Greatness For Professional Services Firmsarjencornelisse
White Paper on flawless project execution for professional services firms. It discusses:
1) Best practices must be integrated across the entire organization to consistently deliver projects on time and under budget. Best-in-class firms are more likely to have integrated solutions based on best practices.
2) Increased competition and lower volumes are forcing firms to cut costs. Those that can deliver projects efficiently will have a long-term competitive advantage.
3) Complex projects require established best practices, yet many firms have not adapted their processes. Implementing industry-specific best practices is key to navigating future challenges.

The Hunter Gatherer - Rob Toldeo - SearchLove Boston 2014Distilled
This document discusses why influencers dislike email pitches and provides suggestions for more effective outreach. The key points are:
1. Influencers enjoy discovering new things themselves and sharing exclusive finds with their audience. They want to feel like hunters tracking down the next big thing.
2. Effective outreach involves finding where influencers spend time online and creating content tailored for those communities. It also means getting exclusives by subtly pitching ideas to influencers early in the process.
3. Unconventional promotion like sending physical mail, staging smart PR stunts, or creating mysteries around new projects can grab influencers' attention better than emails. The goal is planting ideas for influencers to spread without taking
The document discusses how 2010 marked a watershed year in which new technologies empowered activists and journalists to speak out against repressive governments and push for greater respect of human rights. It suggests that repressive governments now face the real possibility that their days are numbered due to technologies that allow information to spread more freely. The summary highlights how new technologies have given voice to critics of authoritarian regimes and represent a threat to governments that try to strictly control information.
The advent of the modern web is nothing short of a revolution on the scale of moveable type. Digital Everything takes brief look at how things have changed, and the revolution yet to come.

It notes that having some online presence through platforms like blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn allows people to learn about you before meeting and gives you more credibility in job interviews. The document then shares the author's experience gradually building their profile over years through minimal efforts like blogging, attending meetups, speaking at conferences, and connecting with others online and in person. Maintaining an online presence is presented as a low-effort way to positively impact one's career.
The document discusses different types of participation in crowdsourcing projects for the humanities: competitive, collaborative, targeted, and immersive. It notes that while these types of participation can stimulate engagement, they may also risk exploiting workers, invading privacy, becoming addictive, or posing ethical dilemmas. The conclusion calls for crowdsourcing projects to have more goal-oriented and adaptable designs that are shaped by participants, with "less game, more play," to help ensure the work remains ethical.

Her blog grew into a wine club community of over 10,000 members through hosting wine tasting events and parties. She has turned her hobby and blog into a full-time career in the wine industry through authentic engagement and building real connections with people over wine.
The document discusses how social changes are transforming everything. It notes that 50% of Swedish children are internet users by age 4. It emphasizes that the only certain thing about the future is that predictions will be wrong. It outlines four steps toward a 100% human future: (1) identity is defined by blogs, YouTube, etc.; (2) networks and conversations shape identity; (3) sharing and transparency define the internet; (4) technology is ubiquitous and not controlled by "geeks." It stresses embracing change and opportunities. It concludes with six one-liners about keeping things simple, embracing curiosity, and taking collaborative baby steps.

Healthy economic development requires properly managing the banking industry of any
country. Along with state-owned banks, private banks play a critical role in the country's economy.
Managers in all types of banks now confront the same challenge: how to get the utmost output from
their employees. Therefore, Performance appraisal appears to be inevitable since it set the
standard for comparing actual performance to established objectives and recommending practical
solutions that help the organization achieve sustainable growth. Therefore, the purpose of this
research is to determine the effect of performance appraisal on employee motivation and retention.
Designing and Sustaining Large-Scale Value-Centered Agile Ecosystems (powered...Alexey Krivitsky
Is Agile dead? It depends on what you mean by 'Agile'. If you mean that the organizations are not getting the promised benefits because they were focusing too much on the team-level agile "ways of working" instead of systemic global improvements -- then we are in agreement. It is a misunderstanding of Agility that led us down a dead-end. At Org Topologies, we see bright sparks -- the signs of the 'second wave of Agile' as we call it. The emphasis is shifting towards both in-team and inter-team collaboration. Away from false dichotomies. Both: team autonomy and shared broad product ownership are required to sustain true result-oriented organizational agility. Org Topologies is a package offering a visual language plus thinking tools required to communicate org development direction and can be used to help design and then sustain org change aiming at higher organizational archetypes.

While agile has entered the post-mainstream age, possibly losing its mojo along the way, the rise of remote working is dealing a more severe blow than its industrialization.
In this talk we'll have a look to the cumulative effect of the constraints of a remote working environment and of the common countermeasures.

3. Sunday night:
As the workday approaches, boredom sets in, and the woman in tech looks to her
computer to try to stave off the dull. However, as most of her friends have a social
life / family, no one is online.
4. Monday:
There is a persistent rumor in the startup world that Mondays should be joyous
things and that you’re so eager to get started on your project that you feel like a
regular (non-startup) Joe on a Friday at 4 PM. I can neither confirm nor deny the
veracity of this statement, as the Startup Police would come after me.
6. Wednesday:
You sit on a panel in the conference, and the presenter refers to you as a “woman in tech.”
You’re not sure whether to be flattered, or whether there’s just more pressure on you now not
to say something dumb.
7. Thursday:
Back at work, you push the limits of what you know and do something you’ve
never done before. Instead of bragging, you celebrate internally—or happy dance.
8. Friday:
You get some unexpected recognition, but someone tries to rain on your parade…
9. Saturday:
You attempt a social outing with a non-startup friend. (For those of you in
startups, that’s a popular band’s shirt…)
10. Ultimately, your week isn’t that different than it would be for a guy in
tech. You’ve networked, gotten stuff done, and tried desperately to kill
off your rapid inbox.
What’s so different about being a woman in tech?
