My Microteaching Lessons
My lessons were organized similarly in an I Do, We Do, You Do format. While they both had some
form of transition and flow, Microteaching 1 was not as smooth as my second Microteaching. The first
Microteaching had multiple sets of manipulatives and a worksheet to hand out. While these things
were all important to the lesson they could have been implemented with a better flow. Before the
lesson, I had organized everything into groups and set it up at the front table and I knew when I
needed each manipulative. The content delivery and activities would flow smoothly but there would
seem to be a break every time where learning stopped. This interrupted the learning, flow, and
organization of the class. During my Microteaching 2, I had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The first change is to show more examples of what different pictographs look like. I started this lesson
by showing a pictograph and having students describe what they see. I think that it would be
beneficial to show multiple pictographs so that students can find similarities and differences in them.
This will help students understand what their pictographs need to include and what changes from
graph to graph. Another change that I would make is to use data from our classroom. The data that I
used in the lesson was data that I made up or found online. I think that adding data from our classroom
would be a great way to tie pictographs into other lessons that we have done before and give the
students a personal connection to what they are

How The Autonomy Of Journalists Are Affected During War Times
Title How the autonomy of journalists are affected during war times and the power struggle related to
media coverage.
New technology During the 1990s, the creation of advanced news gathering equipment, the apparent
growth of the 24 hour news channel, the increase of transnational media organizations and the spread
of the internet platforms suggests the arrival of a more pluralized public sphere. The overall effect of
these technological developments, according to many analysts, was a reduction in government control
over information and a news media that was likely to be more aggressive and off message . Within the
media analyst Hoskins review titled War and Media he states that new technology, rather than
empowering media and deepening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example is Charles Jaco s report for CNN in 1991: Air raid sirens are going off all over the city, we
re being told to abandon this position immediately. As media networks compete to provide the most
live and intense coverage, the reporter s expertise as commentator is valued above detailed and
retrospective analysis. Hoskins states that the emphasis on the present or recent past only increased
with the sheer number of journalists, also allowing for the embedding of many media networks and
their ability to broadcast live pictures simultaneously the using split frames and multiple windows on
screen, may serve to prevent channel switching, but works against a coherent understanding of war.
Hoskins also uses a type of frame analysis to demonstrate how the media template of Vietnam was
used during the 1991 Gulf War, which then itself became the template for the 2003 Iraq War. He
points out that governments and military were concerned not only that this would be another Vietnam
but that it would also look like another Vietnam. This picks up his earlier point on new memory : their
review of Vietnam over the years guiding the military in their continuing mistrust of the media and in
occurring policies of management. Hoskins challenges the idea that news

What Is Kickstarter and How It Works
Kickstarter was launched April of 2009. This funding platform was created to sponsor creative
projects like games, music, films, art, technology and design, Kickstarters projects range from the
ambitious, imaginative and innovative. They are being brought to the scene from the direct support of
patrons. Since their launch, Kickstarter was able to over $500 million worth of pledges from more
than 3 million people and in turn they were able to fund and support of 35,000 project worldwide.
How It Works Through the thousands of projects that are being funded though Kickstarter, they have
really made their mark in the crowdfunding scene. Each of these projects is unique in itself. Talented
people like musicians, filmmakers, artists and designers use Kickstarter for their projects. They have
the control over each project which they spend weeks when it comes to building the pages, shooting
and editing videos and generally promoting the projects that they are working on to potential backers.
As soon as this is settled, these creators have the responsibility to launch the project which will enable
them to share the project with the community. There is a set goal when it comes to funding and there
is also a set deadline. For people who are taken with the project, they can donate or make a pledge to
enable the project to take off. Once the target goal is met, the credit cards that were used for the
pledged will be charged. This transaction will be done simultaneously. if the project

Summary Of Sheriff Bud Wendell Drove Patiently Down...
Sheriff Bud Wendell drove patiently down route 41. He wasn t necessarily needed anywhere and this
was perhaps the first moment he could relax after a rather contentious campaign battle against his
challenger and former undersheriff, Carl Stringham. Politics in the South could get down right nasty at
times, but Sheriff Wendell took small solace in the fact that it wasn t he who spread the rumors of
Stringham s clandestine romances with men from a neighboring town.
Sure, Sheriff Wendell knew that Stringham was a homosexual. Stringham had worked as his deputy
for twelve years and what man wouldn t be aware of such preferences after being in the company of
another antithetically oriented man for so long. It never made a difference to him, though. Bud knew
Carl was a strong man and would have made an honest sheriff, but politics in the south was never
about a man s merits or soul. More often than not, a lever was cast for the man who reminded people
of themselves, at least their public selves. All it took in this case was one whisper from Julie Hollis to
Deanne White at the beauty salon back in October and the race for county sheriff was over. Surely, her
husband, Deputy John Hollis had nothing to do with it.
While he found Stringham s gossip piece to be an unfortunate setback in the merits of the sheriff s
race, Bud Wendell knew Carl was a good man but knew himself to be the better man. If you asked
them in private, most of the county would probably agree. With his

The Importance Of Heroes In Today s Society
According to Gerard Way, ¨ Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary¨. There
can be many people who are considered heroes in today s time. Such as people who rescue people
from life threatening situations. There are true heroes today because need help from others so that is
when heroes show what they are made of. Role models could also be considered a hero to some
people but not to everyone. Heroes are definitely needed in today s society because not everyone has
what it takes to defend themselves or get themselves out of life threatening situations.
What would you do if you were in a situation where your life is in danger and there is no one there to
help you? Say you were in a burning house or had a severe injury, That s when heroes come in, Heroes
come in many different shapes and sizes such as a doctor or a firefighter. It is who you consider a hero
is because a hero is different to everyone. Some people might consider your hero to be a normal
person because they don t look at them the same as you do. Most people would consider a hero as a
person who is willing to risk their life for other persons. If someone is willing to risk their life for
yours, you should consider them a hero because a lot of people wouldn t

Theme Of Fathers And Sons
1.2. Fathers And Sons
Fathers and Sons is a story from the collection Winner Take Nothing, written in 1933. The narrator is
thirty eight years old Nick Adams, who is driving across the country with his son. It is his
homecoming which evokes memories. The main plot is composed mostly around Nick s memories
about his childhood and his father. Such composition makes an impression of a chronicle containing
the description of the relationship between three gen erations of men. It is also the last story about
Nick Adams. Hemingway bluntly highlights in this short story the theme of masculinity. There are all
elements he always believed to be manly: fishing, haunting, guns and desperate attempts to prove
courage and being a real man. There is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also frequently touches upon an issue of veterans impaired ability to establish social relations, for
example a marriage. In Soldier s Home Krebs wanted everything to be simple because the world
seems to be very complex. Young women look modern and everybody seems to be involved in
political relationships. Krebs was stuck between enjoying the girls look and reluctance to start a
conversation. While describing the ladies, there is a frequent repetition of the word like . Krebs liked
particularly everything about those girls, still he was only observing. This was his attempt to avoid
consequences and talking lies, again. Vaguely he wanted a girl but he did not want to have to work to

Politics And Power Motifs In Julius Caesar
Abraham Lincoln once stated Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s
character, give him power. In Lincoln s statement a key term is power, which means the ability or right
to control people or things. Another important term in Lincoln s statement is adversity, which means a
difficult situation or condition. Taken as a whole, Lincoln means that all men can handle a difficult
period by themselves easily, but when someone has power and battles a situation it makes a person
corrupt and harder to handle situations. This is because when you have power it is easier to do the
wrong thing. Furthermore, Lincoln implies in his statement that power defines a person and power can
change a person, most of the time for the bad. Finally, when looked under the lens of William
Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar, Abraham Lincoln s statement can be proven true through
Shakespeare s development of the politics and power motif. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, Cassius is talking to Brutus at the Senate house before the funeral oration. Cassius is
telling Brutus that he does not think it is a good idea for Mark Antony to speak at the funeral oration
(III.I.237 260). This clearly demonstrates Brutus judgement is naive and impulsive because he does
not see the bigger picture and he believes he is more rounded than Cassius. Brutus should not be the
one to make that call since he does not know politics he knows law. This affects the work as a whole
because when Brutus let Antony speak he turned all the people against the conspirators and made the
conspirators run away in fear for their life. This example clearly shows that the Lens is true because it
starts to show the beginning of Brutus downfall with power and his

Shawshank Redemption Analysis
Though Shawshank Redemption is not a story of faith, trust, and pixie dust, it still portrays the trials
that life presents to everyone. According to IMDb, this is the best movie ever made. This is probably
because of how much it teaches, and how many lessons it gives about life while also telling an
unforgettable story. Though there are so many themes represented in this movie, the three that are
mostly shown are very common, and relatable elements: hope, morality, and friendship. These three
themes show what they each can do to a person and what they can do to society. Shawshank
Redemption is a phenomenal story of hope, morality, and friendship. Friendship is defined as a state of
mutual trust and support, which is exactly what it means to the characters in this movie. Each prisoner
in Shawshank knows who everyone is what they have done to get where they are. The important part
of that is that they all are there for the same reason: crime. Since nobody can contact friends and
family, they all rely on each other for the support that they need. Every single person was loyal and
supportive of his fellow inmates, including the new guys. An example of this is the conversation
between the Warden and Tommy Williams. The Warden started off by saying, I need your help, son. If
I m going to move on this, there can t be the least little shred of doubt. I have to know that what you
told Dufresne was the truth. To this Tommy quickly replied, Yes, sir. Absolutely. Seeing that

From my research, the sugar babies personal stories reflected on how the relationship originated using
the website SeekingArrangement.com, a site devoted to the development of sugar baby and sugar
daddy arrangements. Seeking Arrangement plays an integral role in the perception of the sugar baby
because of their significant media presence. They often write articles where they specifically define
the differences between the sugaring relationships and use tactics to get young, impressionable girls

No sugaring experience is the same because their are several different factors and structures in each
arrangement. Although, one thing that most sugar babies participate is is having sex with their sugar
daddy in order to receive and allowance, and this is where the sugar baby relationship begins to slip
into the realms of sex work rather than a relationship. However, for other sugar babies, sex isn t on the
table until they form a relationship. Since sugar baby relationships are so unique it s hard to have one
definition of a sugar baby. But, Motyl Jacqueline, successfully categorizes the levels of the sugar baby
dynamic to see whether or not they re engaging in legal activity according to Section 230 of
Communications Decency Act. Jacqueline writes, However, since the 1970s, courts have agreed that
sexual acts are not deemed to fall within the realm of prostitution if there is something accompanying
the sex, such as companionship, dinner, or even cleaning the house. This is why the sugaring
relationship is so hard to define according to the law. SeekingArrangement advertises the sugar baby
relationship as only a mentoring companionship between two people, but for some sugar babies the
relationship between a sugar daddy and a sugar baby is purely

Statement of intent
I plan to elaborate on the political aspects of Paradise of the Blind by writing a formal letter to the
Vietnam government. The Vietnam government banned this book from the country because of the all
encompassing political aspects included in the book. In the authors books all of the aspects of life are
demonstrated and the total view was an unattractive image for the leaders. This book was banned
because it went against what a government hopes to portray to their people. Duong Thu Huong

in 1989. She has been imprisoned numerous times for her outspoken support for human rights and ...

Because of this factor I found it interesting that it was banned from your country under the term of

the book and I can respect the decision to ban it, but it was banned from the country but that was a
different time and things have changed since then. Under the influence of many years the conditions
and circumstances have changed. Publishing the book provides you with a good opportunity to portray
an understanding for the people and your willingness to cooperate with their wants with little or no
cost to you. Duong Thu Huong has spoken out about the government censorship numerous times and
by allowing her book to be published now, it could allow the people to trust their government.
The book showed a vulnerable time in Vietnamese history fraught with trials and errors on the part of
the government. The fact that it revealed corruption in the government was a problem at the time but
the government has improved since then. After the Ratification of Errors the land owners were

The Pros And Cons Of Kyoto Protocol
Global warming influences every country in the world adversely. In order to relieve this issue, in
1997, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) formulated and enacted
Kyoto Protocol in Japan. At the beginning, more than 150 countries joined the conference. After that,
other countries ratified Kyoto Protocol in succession. Until now, there are about 192 countries have
already ratified the protocol. The United States, however, chose to drop out in 2001 after becoming
one of the participants for four years. (Cable News Network Library, 2017) Drawbacks of Kyoto
Protocol and negative impacts on the economy are two main reasons why the United States dropped
out.
Kyoto Protocol is an agreement that forces all the signatory countries to make great efforts to relieve
global warming. It is widely accepted that greenhouse gases are able to heat earth since they can
prevent heat from escaping from the atmosphere, a reasonable amount of greenhouse gases is needed
to keep the earth warm at a constant and comfortable level, but the overabundance of those gases can
influence earth adversely and thus increase the temperature beyond desirable level. Kyoto Protocol is
aimed at solving this kind of problem. Therefore, we can say that Kyoto Protocol is an international
treaty among industrialized nations that sets mandatory limits on greenhouse gas emissions. (Rouse,
M., 2013) The countries who ratified the protocol will be a member of the United Nations Framework

Drinking Age Debate
The beginning of the new year symbolizes resolution, fresh starts, and most importantly change. This
year, the month of July will mark the 33rd anniversary of the 1984 National Minimum Drinking Age,
the act that states all states must enforce the legal age of 21 to purchase and consume all alcohol.
However, with each year modern society is growing, improving, drastically changing. 18 year olds in
the U.S. are capable of voting, working full time, engaging in marriage, and are thought of as
completely responsible for their actions as they are legally adults, so why are they incapable of being
responsible enough to consume alcohol? This is causing many in the U.S. to start questioning the
legitimacy or need for this law that inhibits states from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Underage drinking has been occurring since laws were set in place for age qualifications, but it is
better serving American society by continuing it because we can t accept lowering the national age?
Ruth C. Engs, a professor for Applied Health Sciences at Indiana University, finds that the mandated
drinking age should be lowered to 18 or 19. If young adults were legally allowed to drink in controlled
environments, then responsible drinking methods could be taught, resulting in mature behavior when
consuming alcohol (Engs, 1). By keeping the drinking age so high, students or young adults are forced
to hide drinking and more often than not, turn to binge drinking, an unhealthy, addictive, and
extremely dangerous form of drinking that often results in blackouts and alcohol poisoning. Engs
states, For example, 22% of all students under 21 compared to 18% over 21 years of age are heavy
drinkers. This is not the only issue that arises from underage drinking. Newsweek writer, Jeffrey A.
Tucker, sees that this law is only causing over indulgence, anti social behavior, disrespect for the law,
secrecy and sneaking and a massive diversion of human energy. To diminish these issues, people are
turning towards the examples of other nations that have managed to maintain low drinking age laws,
with low risk results. In other countries, alcohol is seen as a cultural norm and are taught at young age
how to responsibly consume. However, it is treated the opposite in America, instead, it is seen as how
Wil Fulton from the Huffington Post sees it, forbidden fruit . Fulton states through a claim made by
the World Health Organization, that while Europeans tend to consume more alcohol, Americans still
die from more alcohol related causes. In efforts to change this law and hopefully encourage safe and
responsible drinking, many are turning towards the Amethyst Initiative, a movement created by John

Managing Strategic Change at the Hmv Group
Managing Strategic Change At The HMV Group |
1. Introduction HMV Group announced a three year strategic and operational review in March 2007.
The primary purpose of this dissertation is to analyse the methods used to manage this strategic
change and to discuss alternatives. The secondary focus is to assess the decision to change. At a time
of change, much focus is placed upon developing strategy and not enough on the implementation and
management side. It is possible that a perfect strategy for a situation is wasted by poor
implementation. A specific strategy can be developed over night, however; successful strategy
implementation is a much longer process. In order to analyse HMV Group s change management
efforts, it is crucial to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ParadoxThere are many paradoxical issues present in change management. Just one manifestation of
this would be middle managers withholding information they are given to disseminate because they
wish to retain their knowledgeable image; defeating the point of a middle manager. Michael E Raynor
(2007) in his book entitled The Strategy Paradox presents the idea that a successful strategy requires
the full commitment of the organisation, which leads to unsuccessful performance overall; due to over
commitment. Flood and Dresher s (1950) Prisoners Dilemma, applied to the world of business, will
also conclude that non competition is the most effective path in the long run. Both imply that strong
competition efforts eventually lead to failure that mediocrity is the best route to follow as companies
have a silent agreement to operate in a state of equilibrium. However, in the case of HMV Group, its
operating industry is in decline; therefore failure is the only eventuality of a failure to compete.
ContextAs identified above, much of the literature on the subject of managing strategic change has an
element of paradox attached to it. The logical reason for this is that different methods depend on the
circumstances the organisation is faced with. As there are no exact laws of change management, this is
what makes the subject complex; but more interesting. Most of the literature aims to provide a theory
for each and every eventuality;

As my family and I walked outside to get into the car, I gulped a fresh breath of outdoors, I could taste
the pine trees on my tongue causing my mouth to overflow with saliva. Exhaling I cherished how
proud I was of Evie make this big step and accepting Christ.
The drive from Chicago to Arlington Heights was almost an hour long. The whole time in the car I
couldn t keep my mind off the Chicago Blackhawks hockey game. How many times would the
opportunity arise that I would be in Chicago and the Blackhawks playing in the Stanley Cup semi
finals? There had to be a way we could find tickets for less than what my dad said they cost. An idea
hit me out of no where, I knew my uncle Larry was going to attend the Baptism, after all he is a
season ticket holder. I couldn t be selfish and just run up to him and ask if he had any extra tickets. My
entire family was going to be at the church and I wanted to be sure and enjoy the little time with them
since I no longer live in Chicago. Plus, the day wasn t about me or the game, it was all about my
cousin Evie accepting Jesus. As my family and I walked into the Church we all immediately went to
Evie and congratulated her on the big decision. After greeting with more relatives I found my seat and
waited patiently for the Baptism to begin. Out of no where I felt a presence behind me.
ALEX uncle Larry said in my ear with excitement.
Startled I flipped around and said, Uncle Larry! How are

Essay on Gettysburg
Gettysburg was the turning point in the American Civil War. Back in the day s before animation. More
importantly Gettysburg was the climatic clash between the two major American cultures of their time:
the North and the South. A climax of a conflict between two cultures with such vastly different ideals
that they could not coexist in one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
When looking at the causes of the Civil War, and eventually the Battle of Gettysburg, one must
understand the differences between these two cultures. The Confederacy had an agricultural economy
producing tobacco, corn, and cotton, with many huge plantations owned by a few very rich white men.
These owners lived off of the labor of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abraham Lincoln, the commander and chief of the Union forces, along with many other Northerners
believed that Slavery was not only fundamentally wrong, but it was a great humiliation to America.
One can see that with these differences a conflict would be inevitable, but not many had predicted that
a full blown war would break out. One did and after three bloody and costly years for both sides we
come to the date of July 1, 1863.
The stage was set for an immense struggle at Gettysburg after the May 1863 Battle of Chancellors
Ville, when General Robert E. Lee made the historic decision to divide his already out manned and
outgunned Army of Northern Virginia. This apparent violation of basic strategic principles was
undertook at great risk, and only for the reason that a great payoff was possible. By creating 3 corps
from his 75,000 men, Lee made it possible to accomplish more tasks in the same amount of time. The
three commanders were, in theory, to be supported by the strategic reconnasaince of Jeb Stuart s
cavalry a role in which he failed dismally (and fatally) in the days and weeks leading up to
Gettysburg. Lee decided to take the offensive by invading Pennsylvania via Maryland in an attempt to
end the war quickly by threatening the Northern capitol and waging total war on the Northern citizens.
Unfortunately for Lee, Stuart s joyriding (Jeb delighted in riding complete circles around the Northern
armies and hence all of the public recognition and

Foundation Types Essay
Types of Foundation
The foundation is the base for the constructed building and as such is required to carry out several
functions as follows:
0 The foundation should safely sustain and transmit to the ground the combined dead and imposed
loads of the building without resulting in any settlement or other movement of the building or any
adjoining works.
1 Foundations should be deep enough or be constructed in such a way as to avoid damage by the
swelling, shrinkage or freezing of the subsoil.

Strip foundation ready to receive brickwork. This foundation is for a two bedroom starter home.
There are various methods of modifying the concept of strip foundations to allow its use in other
situations, for instance where some soil has a poor bearing capacity. This may be the case in wet
ground, soft clay or filled ground, where the width of the strip foundation can be extended to spread
the load over a larger area of soil. This will require the provision of reinforcement to the foundation in
order to withstand tension and spread the load over a wider area.
When a strip foundation is to be used on a sloping site the most economic solution is to use a stepped
foundation which will reduce the amount of excavation, construction under ground, backfill and
trench support. The provision of stepped foundations following the line of the ground requires each
step to be between 150 and 225millimetres in order to accommodate brick or block courses. The lap of
concrete at the step should be not less than the depth of the foundation concrete and never less than
300millimetres whichever is the greater.

Why The Varsity Team Lose For The Junior Varsity Teams
1. Why does the Varsity team lose to the Junior Varsity team? The Varsity team lost to the Junior
Varsity team because of their individualistic mindset. The coach of the Army Crew team admits to
putting together the best crew athletes together on the Varsity team. As Making Star Teams Out of Star
Players discusses, putting the best individuals together seems appropriate on paper, but often ignores
the soft skills necessary to work together as a team. Because the coach focuses on the individual
talents of the Varsity Crew team he creates an air of competitiveness within each member, instead of
how they can work together. The goal of the team is not greater than that of the individual and no one
wants to be the weakest link so they overcompensate their own skills. Every member of the Varsity
crew team believes he is compensating for the other members and blames other members for the
failure of the team, which shows a lack of team mentality and strong leadership. Through
overcompensating, as stated in the case study, that throws off the balance of the boat because one
member being off pace causes slower speeds. Also, through pitting the Varsity team against the Junior
Varsity team it adds to the divisive culture within the whole Army Crew team. The coach also does not
create any positive feedback for the weaker links on the team to work with. Instead of telling the team
they ALL did well, the coach focuses on who are the better athletes. As a result, the members feel

Barbie s Influence On Women s Equal Rights And...
The commonly held opinion of the fashion icon, Barbie, has contributed an impeccable standard for
young girls from the unhealthy body images for girls to the low self assurance Barbie has brought
upon them. To counteract the previous statement, with the help of Barbie s many job titles, women s
equal rights and opportunities have flourished. The creator of Barbie, Ruth Handler, created her so
that, through the doll, the little girl could be anything she wanted to be. Barbie always represented the
fact that a woman has choices, (Mattel 2016) to serve a purpose as a role model to show kids to love
themselves instead of trying to be like her.The unrealistic self image and lifestyle of glamour and

Each year the Barbie Career Collection expanded into a variety of careers that were not acceptable to
women such as an astronaut 1986, a marine corps sergeant 1992, a president candidate 2004, and
much more. According to Jill E. Barad, American CEO of toy manufacturer Mattel, sales grew from
$200 million in 1982 to $1.9 billion in 1997, (Encyclopedia 2010) as many children and parents loved
playing with the doll. Today, there are more than 180 careers that Barbie has advocated. Her outfits are
designed by professional fashion designers, makeup artists and elite couturiers, that are seen in over
150 countries. (Mattel 2017) She has appeared in numerous New York runways shows, has her own
jewelry line, and collaborated with Christian Louboutin, Estee Lauder, Jeremy Moschino and much

Trade Blocks And Its Effects On Business And People Of Mexico
Trade blocks (for example, EU) also help countries in importing from other member countries freely

European Economic Community developed custom union (1957 1992) and common market (1992)

WTO accounts for over 97% of the world trade. According to comparative advantage, trade barriers
take advantage of generating profit opportunities. In addition, trade agreements compensate market
failures. Therefore, trade agreements between countries are essential for protection of raising trade
disputes.
In eight rounds of multilateral trade negotiation Uruguay Round , GATT (1947) developed its domain
representing intellectual property right, investment and service sector banking and insurance. It leads
to emerging new issues such as Trade Related
Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), Trade Related Investment Measures
(TRIMS) and General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS)
(Griesgraber, J, 1997).
TRIPS agreement, comprehensive multilateral agreement on intellectual property rights
(IPRs), protects copyright and other related right issues undisclosed information, trademark, patent,
industrial and layout design (Das, 1998). However, TRIPS agreement lacks of uniformity in protection
leading to identifying personal own preferences (Fowler,
2010). Furthermore, TRIPS agreement emphasizes on controlling industrial structure in order to
mitigate negative consequences of artificial product production. For instance, pharmaceutical
industries in developing countries have current patent law, unavoidable license, for protection of local
manufacturers from challenges of frontier drugs production. This

Performance Enhancing Drugs Should Be Baned In Sports
There are many different opinions on Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs); however, they are
banned in every sport. PEDs enhance an athlete s performance greatly and unnaturally. They improve
a variety of things that will improve an athlete s level of play considerably. Although these drugs are
prohibited, some athletes still choose to take the risk and use these drugs; some even claim that PEDs
should be allowed because it allows the viewers see the peak of human ability which is more
entertaining. Despite the opposition, athletes using Performance Enhancing Drugs are unfair because
it ruins the integrity of sports, it gives other athletes a disadvantage, and it unnaturally improves the
strength of an athlete significantly. To begin, if athletes are permitted to use PEDs, it ruins the integrity
of the sport. Sports are valued by many people throughout the world and there are countless young,
upcoming athletes that are thriving to one day play at a high level. However, if these sports turn into a
cheater s game by allowing drugs, the dreams of those hard working athletes who refuse PEDs will be
at a disadvantage. To show, The governing bodies that oversee drug testing, who hand out and uphold
penalties, do this in hopes that one particular athlete or group of athletes won t gain an unfair edge
over another by using a particular banned substance. Why? Because this would be cheating, and the
mutual feeling is that cheating ruins the integrity of sports (Hodnik 3). Athletes

  • 2. My Microteaching Lessons My lessons were organized similarly in an I Do, We Do, You Do format. While they both had some form of transition and flow, Microteaching 1 was not as smooth as my second Microteaching. The first Microteaching had multiple sets of manipulatives and a worksheet to hand out. While these things were all important to the lesson they could have been implemented with a better flow. Before the lesson, I had organized everything into groups and set it up at the front table and I knew when I needed each manipulative. The content delivery and activities would flow smoothly but there would seem to be a break every time where learning stopped. This interrupted the learning, flow, and organization of the class. During my Microteaching 2, I had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first change is to show more examples of what different pictographs look like. I started this lesson by showing a pictograph and having students describe what they see. I think that it would be beneficial to show multiple pictographs so that students can find similarities and differences in them. This will help students understand what their pictographs need to include and what changes from graph to graph. Another change that I would make is to use data from our classroom. The data that I used in the lesson was data that I made up or found online. I think that adding data from our classroom would be a great way to tie pictographs into other lessons that we have done before and give the students a personal connection to what they are ... • 3. How The Autonomy Of Journalists Are Affected During War Times Title How the autonomy of journalists are affected during war times and the power struggle related to media coverage. New technology During the 1990s, the creation of advanced news gathering equipment, the apparent growth of the 24 hour news channel, the increase of transnational media organizations and the spread of the internet platforms suggests the arrival of a more pluralized public sphere. The overall effect of these technological developments, according to many analysts, was a reduction in government control over information and a news media that was likely to be more aggressive and off message . Within the media analyst Hoskins review titled War and Media he states that new technology, rather than empowering media and deepening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example is Charles Jaco s report for CNN in 1991: Air raid sirens are going off all over the city, we re being told to abandon this position immediately. As media networks compete to provide the most live and intense coverage, the reporter s expertise as commentator is valued above detailed and retrospective analysis. Hoskins states that the emphasis on the present or recent past only increased with the sheer number of journalists, also allowing for the embedding of many media networks and their ability to broadcast live pictures simultaneously the using split frames and multiple windows on screen, may serve to prevent channel switching, but works against a coherent understanding of war. Hoskins also uses a type of frame analysis to demonstrate how the media template of Vietnam was used during the 1991 Gulf War, which then itself became the template for the 2003 Iraq War. He points out that governments and military were concerned not only that this would be another Vietnam but that it would also look like another Vietnam. This picks up his earlier point on new memory : their review of Vietnam over the years guiding the military in their continuing mistrust of the media and in occurring policies of management. Hoskins challenges the idea that news ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Summary Of Sheriff Bud Wendell Drove Patiently Down... Sheriff Bud Wendell drove patiently down route 41. He wasn t necessarily needed anywhere and this was perhaps the first moment he could relax after a rather contentious campaign battle against his challenger and former undersheriff, Carl Stringham. Politics in the South could get down right nasty at times, but Sheriff Wendell took small solace in the fact that it wasn t he who spread the rumors of Stringham s clandestine romances with men from a neighboring town. Sure, Sheriff Wendell knew that Stringham was a homosexual. Stringham had worked as his deputy for twelve years and what man wouldn t be aware of such preferences after being in the company of another antithetically oriented man for so long. It never made a difference to him, though. Bud knew Carl was a strong man and would have made an honest sheriff, but politics in the south was never about a man s merits or soul. More often than not, a lever was cast for the man who reminded people of themselves, at least their public selves. All it took in this case was one whisper from Julie Hollis to Deanne White at the beauty salon back in October and the race for county sheriff was over. Surely, her husband, Deputy John Hollis had nothing to do with it. While he found Stringham s gossip piece to be an unfortunate setback in the merits of the sheriff s race, Bud Wendell knew Carl was a good man but knew himself to be the better man. If you asked them in private, most of the county would probably agree. With his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Importance Of Heroes In Today s Society According to Gerard Way, ¨ Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary¨. There can be many people who are considered heroes in today s time. Such as people who rescue people from life threatening situations. There are true heroes today because need help from others so that is when heroes show what they are made of. Role models could also be considered a hero to some people but not to everyone. Heroes are definitely needed in today s society because not everyone has what it takes to defend themselves or get themselves out of life threatening situations. What would you do if you were in a situation where your life is in danger and there is no one there to help you? Say you were in a burning house or had a severe injury, That s when heroes come in, Heroes come in many different shapes and sizes such as a doctor or a firefighter. It is who you consider a hero is because a hero is different to everyone. Some people might consider your hero to be a normal person because they don t look at them the same as you do. Most people would consider a hero as a person who is willing to risk their life for other persons. The narrator is thirty eight years old Nick Adams, who is driving across the country with his son. It is his homecoming which evokes memories. The main plot is composed mostly around Nick s memories about his childhood and his father. Such composition makes an impression of a chronicle containing the description of the relationship between three gen erations of men. It is also the last story about Nick Adams. • 8. Politics And Power Motifs In Julius Caesar Abraham Lincoln once stated Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s character, give him power. In Lincoln s statement a key term is power, which means the ability or right to control people or things. Another important term in Lincoln s statement is adversity, which means a difficult situation or condition. Taken as a whole, Lincoln means that all men can handle a difficult period by themselves easily, but when someone has power and battles a situation it makes a person corrupt and harder to handle situations. This is because when you have power it is easier to do the wrong thing. Furthermore, Lincoln implies in his statement that power defines a person and power can change a person, most of the time for the bad. Finally, when looked under the lens of William Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar, Abraham Lincoln s statement can be proven true through Shakespeare s development of the politics and power motif. ... Cassius is telling Brutus that he does not think it is a good idea for Mark Antony to speak at the funeral oration (III.I.237 260). This clearly demonstrates Brutus judgement is naive and impulsive because he does not see the bigger picture and he believes he is more rounded than Cassius. Brutus should not be the one to make that call since he does not know politics he knows law. This affects the work as a whole because when Brutus let Antony speak he turned all the people against the conspirators and made the conspirators run away in fear for their life. • 9. Shawshank Redemption Analysis Though Shawshank Redemption is not a story of faith, trust, and pixie dust, it still portrays the trials that life presents to everyone. According to IMDb, this is the best movie ever made. This is probably because of how much it teaches, and how many lessons it gives about life while also telling an unforgettable story. Though there are so many themes represented in this movie, the three that are mostly shown are very common, and relatable elements: hope, morality, and friendship. These three themes show what they each can do to a person and what they can do to society. Shawshank Redemption is a phenomenal story of hope, morality, and friendship. Friendship is defined as a state of mutual trust and support, which is exactly what it means to the characters in this movie. Each prisoner in Shawshank knows who everyone is what they have done to get where they are. The important part of that is that they all are there for the same reason: crime. Since nobody can contact friends and family, they all rely on each other for the support that they need. Every single person was loyal and supportive of his fellow inmates, including the new guys. An example of this is the conversation between the Warden and Tommy Williams. The Warden started off by saying, I need your help, son. If I m going to move on this, there can t be the least little shred of doubt. I have to know that what you told Dufresne was the truth. To this Tommy quickly replied, Yes, sir. Absolutely. They often write articles where they specifically define the differences between the sugaring relationships and use tactics to get young, impressionable girls who are in a financial need the benefits of the sugaring lifestyle and the ability to support herself. No sugaring experience is the same because their are several different factors and structures in each arrangement. Although, one thing that most sugar babies participate is is having sex with their sugar daddy in order to receive and allowance, and this is where the sugar baby relationship begins to slip into the realms of sex work rather than a relationship. However, for other sugar babies, sex isn t on the table until they form a relationship. Since sugar baby relationships are so unique it s hard to have one definition of a sugar baby. But, Motyl Jacqueline, successfully categorizes the levels of the sugar baby dynamic to see whether or not they re engaging in legal activity according to Section 230 of Communications Decency Act. Jacqueline writes, However, since the 1970s, courts have agreed that sexual acts are not deemed to fall within the realm of prostitution if there is something accompanying the sex, such as companionship, dinner, or even cleaning the house. This is why the sugaring relationship is so hard to define according to the law. Paradise of the Blind Essay World literature two Statement of intent I plan to elaborate on the political aspects of Paradise of the Blind by writing a formal letter to the Vietnam government. The Vietnam government banned this book from the country because of the all encompassing political aspects included in the book. In the authors books all of the aspects of life are demonstrated and the total view was an unattractive image for the leaders. This book was banned because it went against what a government hopes to portray to their people. The social conditions were not optimal in the book and I can respect the decision to ban it, but it was banned from the country but that was a different time and things have changed since then. Under the influence of many years the conditions and circumstances have changed. Publishing the book provides you with a good opportunity to portray an understanding for the people and your willingness to cooperate with their wants with little or no cost to you. Duong Thu Huong has spoken out about the government censorship numerous times and by allowing her book to be published now, it could allow the people to trust their government. • 17. The Pros And Cons Of Kyoto Protocol Global warming influences every country in the world adversely. In order to relieve this issue, in 1997, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) formulated and enacted Kyoto Protocol in Japan. At the beginning, more than 150 countries joined the conference. After that, other countries ratified Kyoto Protocol in succession. Until now, there are about 192 countries have already ratified the protocol. The United States, however, chose to drop out in 2001 after becoming one of the participants for four years. (Cable News Network Library, 2017) Drawbacks of Kyoto Protocol and negative impacts on the economy are two main reasons why the United States dropped out. Kyoto Protocol is an agreement that forces all the signatory countries to make great efforts to relieve global warming. It is widely accepted that greenhouse gases are able to heat earth since they can prevent heat from escaping from the atmosphere, a reasonable amount of greenhouse gases is needed to keep the earth warm at a constant and comfortable level, but the overabundance of those gases can influence earth adversely and thus increase the temperature beyond desirable level. Kyoto Protocol is aimed at solving this kind of problem. Therefore, we can say that Kyoto Protocol is an international treaty among industrialized nations that sets mandatory limits on greenhouse gas emissions. • 18. Drinking Age Debate The beginning of the new year symbolizes resolution, fresh starts, and most importantly change. This year, the month of July will mark the 33rd anniversary of the 1984 National Minimum Drinking Age, the act that states all states must enforce the legal age of 21 to purchase and consume all alcohol. However, with each year modern society is growing, improving, drastically changing. 18 year olds in the U.S. are capable of voting, working full time, engaging in marriage, and are thought of as completely responsible for their actions as they are legally adults, so why are they incapable of being responsible enough to consume alcohol? This is causing many in the U.S. to start questioning the legitimacy or need for this law that inhibits states from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Underage drinking has been occurring since laws were set in place for age qualifications, but it is better serving American society by continuing it because we can t accept lowering the national age? Ruth C. Engs, a professor for Applied Health Sciences at Indiana University, finds that the mandated drinking age should be lowered to 18 or 19. If young adults were legally allowed to drink in controlled environments, then responsible drinking methods could be taught, resulting in mature behavior when consuming alcohol (Engs, 1). By keeping the drinking age so high, students or young adults are forced to hide drinking and more often than not, turn to binge drinking, an unhealthy, addictive, and extremely dangerous form of drinking that often results in blackouts and alcohol poisoning. Engs states, For example, 22% of all students under 21 compared to 18% over 21 years of age are heavy drinkers. This is not the only issue that arises from underage drinking. Newsweek writer, Jeffrey A. Tucker, sees that this law is only causing over indulgence, anti social behavior, disrespect for the law, secrecy and sneaking and a massive diversion of human energy. To diminish these issues, people are turning towards the examples of other nations that have managed to maintain low drinking age laws, with low risk results. In other countries, alcohol is seen as a cultural norm and are taught at young age how to responsibly consume. However, it is treated the opposite in America, instead, it is seen as how Wil Fulton from the Huffington Post sees it, forbidden fruit . Fulton states through a claim made by the World Health Organization, that while Europeans tend to consume more alcohol, Americans still die from more alcohol related causes. The primary purpose of this dissertation is to analyse the methods used to manage this strategic change and to discuss alternatives. The secondary focus is to assess the decision to change. At a time of change, much focus is placed upon developing strategy and not enough on the implementation and management side. It is possible that a perfect strategy for a situation is wasted by poor implementation. A specific strategy can be developed over night, however; successful strategy implementation is a much longer process. In order to analyse HMV Group s change management efforts, it is crucial to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ParadoxThere are many paradoxical issues present in change management. Just one manifestation of this would be middle managers withholding information they are given to disseminate because they wish to retain their knowledgeable image; defeating the point of a middle manager. Michael E Raynor (2007) in his book entitled The Strategy Paradox presents the idea that a successful strategy requires the full commitment of the organisation, which leads to unsuccessful performance overall; due to over commitment. Flood and Dresher s (1950) Prisoners Dilemma, applied to the world of business, will also conclude that non competition is the most effective path in the long run. Both imply that strong competition efforts eventually lead to failure that mediocrity is the best route to follow as companies have a silent agreement to operate in a state of equilibrium. However, in the case of HMV Group, its operating industry is in decline; therefore failure is the only eventuality of a failure to compete. ContextAs identified above, much of the literature on the subject of managing strategic change has an element of paradox attached to it. The logical reason for this is that different methods depend on the circumstances the organisation is faced with. As there are no exact laws of change management, this is what makes the subject complex; but more interesting. Most of the literature aims to provide a theory for each and every eventuality; ... There are various methods of modifying the concept of strip foundations to allow its use in other situations, for instance where some soil has a poor bearing capacity. This may be the case in wet ground, soft clay or filled ground, where the width of the strip foundation can be extended to spread the load over a larger area of soil. This will require the provision of reinforcement to the foundation in order to withstand tension and spread the load over a wider area. When a strip foundation is to be used on a sloping site the most economic solution is to use a stepped foundation which will reduce the amount of excavation, construction under ground, backfill and trench support. The provision of stepped foundations following the line of the ground requires each step to be between 150 and 225millimetres in order to accommodate brick or block courses. The lap of concrete at the step should be not less than the depth of the foundation concrete and never less than 300millimetres whichever is the greater.

The Varsity team lost to the Junior Varsity team because of their individualistic mindset. The coach of the Army Crew team admits to putting together the best crew athletes together on the Varsity team. As Making Star Teams Out of Star Players discusses, putting the best individuals together seems appropriate on paper, but often ignores the soft skills necessary to work together as a team. Because the coach focuses on the individual talents of the Varsity Crew team he creates an air of competitiveness within each member, instead of how they can work together. The goal of the team is not greater than that of the individual and no one wants to be the weakest link so they overcompensate their own skills. Every member of the Varsity crew team believes he is compensating for the other members and blames other members for the failure of the team, which shows a lack of team mentality and strong leadership. Through overcompensating, as stated in the case study, that throws off the balance of the boat because one member being off pace causes slower speeds. Also, through pitting the Varsity team against the Junior Varsity team it adds to the divisive culture within the whole Army Crew team. The coach also does not create any positive feedback for the weaker links on the team to work with. Instead of telling the team they ALL did well, the coach focuses on who are the better athletes.
