Introduction. The Case Study Renovating Home Depot Was
Introduction
The case study Renovating Home Depot was the case of a leader who joined a successful business
only to discover that the company was running out of growth opportunities and also did not have the
basic systems needed for increased growth in place. Robert Bob Nardelli was chosen as the CEO of
Home Depot based on his proven ability to reenergize slow growth businesses. He was a leader that
went all out to achieve his goals and was identified as someone who was comfortable in his own suit ,
and believes in being successful his own way. He made several innovations which were used in
General Electric (GE) where he recorded past successes. We see the success demonstrated in the
growth of revenue in Home Depot, as well as opening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nardelli was also quite weak in Human Resource (HR) and customer service which were the key
aspects of any retailing business that aspires to be successful. Looking at his personality, he was
someone that was full of pride, ego and always like to have his way. He failed to practice consultative
management and was driven by the fact that he wanted to prove Jack Welch (the then CEO, who did
not give him a shot at general management) wrong and he s ready to go to any length to achieve this.
According to one of the store managers that left, he said: after Nardelli arrived, things weren t
presented to you; they were told to you . Considering all of these, I would not hire Nardelli.
2) Describe Home Depot when Nardelli took over. What kind of place was it? Is Nardelli a tyrant or a
strong manager? Support your position.
A strong foundation for success and growth was already in place in Home Depot under Marcus
leadership. The company demonstrated a very strong culture, built on entrepreneurialism and customer
service. Abundant promotion opportunities were created due to rapid growth attracting carpenters,
plumbers and other building professionals as salespeople. Most of the non entry level jobs were filled
internally, and from the 400 department heads, just a dozen came from outside the company.

Ataturk Essay
Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is known as a very important idealist in Turkey, which had become an idol for
Turks. One of the most important reasons he was that crucial for Turkey was that him being a
nationalist founder and leader, and the first president of the Turkish Republic. Ataturk was born in
Salonika (then known as the Ottoman Empire), in 1881. The real truth is that, Ataturk, still being at his
young ages, started to think about making reforms for his country and society, and eventually had
reached his goals making Turkey a free and civilized country, by also being the first president of
Turkey. There are several policies and revolutions of Ataturk, which make him a really known, loved,

The transition of a multinational empire to a nation state has happened; therefore, Turkey s national
identity has been established. In the creation of this identity, qualification of individuals as a citizen
has been a crucial point. Ataturk found the path for the public administration by setting a new
democracy which is Republic . Secondly, Populism means being against class differences and
inequalities, and not accepting the individuals, families, classes, and organizations being above one
another. The Republican Revolution also has the characteristic of the social revolution. At first,
including the Swiss civil code, Western laws were applied in Turkey, so, there have been changes in
the status of women, in 1934, being able to elect or be elected by others. Moreover, Ataturk had also
improved the idea of laicism. Laicism, despite the fact that it separates state from religion; it also
means that education, culture, and other living areas, being independent of religion. Thus, it means the
freedom of thinking and expressing your thoughts without including religion. In the aspect of Ataturk,
laicism had to come to Turkey, in order to bring peace between the citizens of this country. To
conclude, Ataturk had brought laicism is his country, giving freedom to the

The Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Credit Cards
Nowadays credit cards are the preferred method of payment all around the world. Whether you re
buying fruits at the market to TV s at the store, credit cards can be used to purchase almost anything
you can imagine. But, like most things credit cards also have advantages and disadvantages that come
with using them. Such as how easy it is to accrue credit card debt which affects your credit score.
Some advantages that come with a credit card include building up your credit score, keeping your cash
safe in case you lose your card, and reward programs. Credit cards can be extremely bad if you allow
yourself to build up debt. It is extremely easy to build up debt. That s because many credit cards have
high interest rates, which means the amount owed can quickly snowball out of control. (Bahney) The
more money you spend with the credit card, the more money you owe the credit card company if you
don t pay your monthly bills on time. Everyday commodities have slowly been increasing in price.
One of the biggest drivers of our credit card debt is that cost of living has been outpacing income
growth. (Bahney) The cost of living is more than the income of most families. That is a reason why
consumer debt has reached a total of 1 trillion dollars in the United States. You have to pay extra
money if you don t pay your bills on time. Failing to pay your credit card bills on time can hurt you in
more ways than one. First, you ll face a late payment fee (Backman) Not only do you have to pay
interest on top of the money owed but you also have to pay an extra late fee which just ends up hurting
you even more. All of the late fees and interests you have to pay affect your credit score. being late
with payments is a surefire way to damage your credit score, (Backham) Your credit score is basically
a rating based on how well you pay your dues. Your credit score determines how much interest will
be, whether your eligible for a credit card, and plenty of other things because they need to be able to
trust that you ll pay them back. So, if your credit score goes downhill due to late fees and interest then
people will be less likely to trust you with their money. Some of the disadvantages that come with
having a credit card are

Robbie Lawler has slowly climbed the hill back to a title rematch with welterweight champion Tyron
Woodley, but former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos plans to send him tumbling down the
welterweight rankings on Saturday in Winnipeg. The fight between Lawler and Dos Anjos headlines a
loaded UFC Fight Night card in Canada. Coming off a unanimous decision victory over Donald
Cerrone at UFC 214 in July, Lawler is ranked second in the welterweight division. He truly needed the
win over Cerrone, as he attempted to rebound from a bad knockout loss to Woodley at UFC 201 in
July 2016. Lawler took nearly a year off after the loss to Woodley, and he s looking to get back the
title he held and defended in impressive fashion for two years. The ... Show more content on

This seems to ring more true than ever after colitis has sidelined former middleweight and
welterweight champion Georges St Pierre. There were talks of a fight between St Pierre and Woodley
prior to the disclosure of his illness, but he s out indefinitely. Co main event Saturday s co main event
will be a featherweight fight between Ricardo Lamas and Josh Emmett. Lamas is the third ranked
fighter in the division and was originally scheduled to fight Jose Aldo in a rematch in Winnipeg.
However, the UFC pulled Aldo from the card to replace Frankie Edgar, who suffered an injury prior to
his title fight with Max Holloway at UFC 218 earlier this month. Lamas is on a two fight winning
streak, last defeating Jason Knight by first round knockout at UFC 214 in July. He s a former title
challenger, and his last loss was to featherweight champion Holloway. A win over Knight would keep
Lamas in the title conversation, but he ll likely have to wait until after another scheduled fight
between Holloway and Edgar. Emmett recently moved down to the featherweight division after
starting his UFC career as a lightweight. He defeated Felipe Arantes in October and is 3 1 in the UFC,
but Lamas will certainly be the most difficult challenge of his career. Rest of the main card Also on the

The Threat Of Terrorist Groups Place High Value
There is substantial evidence which supports the idea that terrorist groups place high value is using
shoulder fire MANPAD weapon systems to destroy civilian jet aircraft. Successfully attacking a
civilian plane not only poses a great economic threat by effectively shutting down the commercial
aviation industry, it would also create a loss of confidence in the United States ability to defend itself
which, in of itself, holds great symbolic value. While the previous post examined mitigation strategies
centered around the aircraft, this post examines potential strategies that may be used to minimize the
threat from the ground, or more specifically, the airport. While no one strategy offers the ability to
completely eliminate the threat, there is existing literature which offers potential strategies through a
multi layered approach.
Designing any sort of counter MANPAD strategy will likely cost a great amount of money, and airport
planners will have to convince stakeholders the potential risk of a MANPAD incident. A coordinated
or well planned attack which results in catastrophic loss of life and aircraft(s) would likely have
cascading affects throughout the aviation industry, significantly effecting commerce and travel. It must
therefore be understood that any front end investment, in millions, could likely insure continued daily
operations in the event of a planned attack and preserve billions in potentially lost revenue on the back
end.

Epidemiology Of Stress
veryone experiences stress atleast one time in their lives. The human body shows signs of stress in two
different ways; firstly, the boost of hormones that elevate your heart rate, then your blood pressure
starts to rise, and stops digestion, then secondly the symptoms you are aware of such as clenced teeth,
headaches and emotional upset. (Southern Cross, 2013). The most reconginziable symptoms of stress
are sleeping problems such as insomnia, heartburn, nail biting, trouble focusing, nausea and many
more, but there are also conditions that you wouldn t know was associated with stress like anorexia
and depression. (Henry, 2011). Acute and chronic stress are both different forms of stress responses.

Essay on Racist Society in Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird
Racist Society in Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird
The way I perceive racism would be discrimination and prejudice against somebody with a different
skin colour or ethical background. In To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses racial prejudice as the
main subject matter either towards a single person (for example, Tom Robinson) or towards groups of
people (for example, the black community in Maycomb.)
To Kill a Mockingbird is set in the 1930 s. This is when the blacks have gained equal rights with white
people. Bob Ewell is almost if not is, fearful of the blacks as he is seen as the lowest of the low, and he
sees there is no definitely defined line between the black community and himself. ... Show more

We also hear that Jem is aware of Atticus situation, there is evidence that Atticus avoids Jem knowing
this when Jem asks They were after you weren t they? Atticus replies with, No, son, those were our
friends. Atticus called them friends because he didn t want to cause any alarm even though Jem was
aware of the situation.
Jem then shows knowledge of racial politicians , the Ku Klux Klan, by responding to Atticus comment
on that he had never heard of a gang in Maycomb. This is an early sign that Jem is growing up and
able to see what is happening around him, that he doesn t just automatically accept what he sees.
In the novel, racism shows up at both sides of the spectrum, either physical racism or verbal racism.
The most severe form of physical racism is in chapter 24 when Tom Robinson is imprisoned and
murdered when trying to escape even though he was assured by Atticus that he was confident in
winning the case. During his murder, he was shot seventeen times whilst trying to escape the prison. If
this was a non racist attack, however, he would have only been shot once in somewhere like the foot
to bring him down. In some cases, verbal racism can be just as damaging as physical racism. Take Bob
Ewell for example, even though he was the lowest of the low (known as white trash) he was still
considered higher than any black person and quite often addressed them as hey

The Marxist And Feminist Perspectives
The marxist and feminist perspectives are both are utilized to gain a deeper understanding of
literature. The feminist lens deals with the role of gender within literature, and the marxist lens focuses
on the context of culture and society within literature. Each perspective plays off the other to create a
cohesive approach to analyzing Brave New World. Aldous Huxley s Brave New World highlights the
issues associated with a society with a disproportional basis in manufactured social structures. These
dysfunctional social structures are created through a fundamental irony: knowledge both unities and
destroys humanity. Huxley shows mankind, for the first time in history, united; however, the
knowledge and intellect that created this ever lasting peace is also the same factor that stripped
mankind of everything that makes it human. Aldous Huxley s dystopian society, within Brave New
World, shows that knowledge is the unifying and destroying thread of humanity through the fabricated
social hierarchy and preconditioned gender roles.
The underpinning of Huxley s Brave New World is the unifying thread of mankind: knowledge.
Through the course of history, mankind has struggled to find and maintain peace. However, in Huxley
s vision of the future mankind has developed, manufactured, and fostered peace all through the
knowledge gained from generations past. Mankind has three fundamental factors that drive it and are
called the functions of life: assimilation, excitation, [and]

Homeostatic Chemokine Research Paper
Homeostatic chemokines are constitutively expressed and regulate tissue specific leukocyte migration
[117]. The homeostatic chemokine CCL27 also called CTACK (cutaneous T cell attracting
chemokine) is specifically expressed by human epidermal keratinocytes in the skin [118, 119]. CCL27
is expressed in large amounts in basal cells of the epidermis [119]. During the process of epidermal
cell differentiation from the basal layer to the skin surface, the expression levels of CCL27 decrease
[119]. CCL27 binds to its receptor CCR10 and recruits CLA+ skin homing memory T cells
predominantly to the epidermis [118, 120]. During cutaneous inflammation the proinflammatory

The Effects Of Social Media On Our Lives
There are so many things that go on in this world, with this in mind think about how everyone gets
their information; Media. The world is surrounded by people walking in the streets on their phones,
sitting at a restaurant on their phones, even at work on their phones, do you see the problem? There
are so many things that happen on a daily basis, but there are only a few people that can go thought

the speed at which news gets around is so shocking. Social media is how people get their information

have been so many advances. With the new technology advance, there comes the people that have to
have the best of the best, which increases the amount of time one is on their phone. With news giving
people facts and the truth with a little bit of bias, there is a point that they are trying to get out. Then
on the other side to that you have the mass media that alters the truth which has a lot of people that
influence the facts. The media is a huge way for people to communicate and when they do they things

Why Handwriting Is Important
Handwriting: Is It Really That Important?
Over the past few decades, handwriting may seem almost obsolete or those that are under the age of

age of technology that bloom through the ages of until today, there were different writing styles that

modern computer and electronic typewriter. This article will help explain why handwriting is
important and maybe the future of handwriting as well.

However, studies have shown that is faster to read information that is on a fiscal source such as a book

there I made it from the screen.
It slows down reading times and causes these writing stuff to suffer. This is because when information
is written by hand although the test may seem to be slower, it gives the writer time to reflect on his or
her thoughts about the subject differently. Moreover, scientific studies have shown that the brain
receives material information differently on paper books then on screen for just computers,
smartphones and tablets.

Reflection On Disability Language Terminology
2016 AD5832: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Inclusion
(Louise Griffin Student Number 113141171)
First Reflective: Disability Language Terminology
In one of my first lectures given by Jessica Amberson on 26 September 2015 a point was made of how
terminology associated with defining disability is continually in flux. This prompted me to consider
why is the language of disability in constant change and has it evolved?
I researched the historical language used to describe different types of disability. Firstly, I realised how
the negative stigma of loss was attached to it (Barton 1996, p.8) and how the commencement of the
Industrial Age began the medical labelling of those incapable of working in order to separate them
from those who were reluctant to work (Oliver and Barnes 2012, pp. 14 15). Before researching I had
not realised the extent that capitalism has had on underpinning the negative language used to define
disability (Barnes and Mercer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

on creating preconceptions of disability. It made me think of a recent Advertisement by Channel4

Superhumans Return. The advertisement starts off with people with different types of disabilities.
Each playing the part of a villain that wants revenge on the world. I noticed that all the villains were
wearing dark clothes and were in gloomy and bleak scenery. This is a typical stereotype that popular
media has depicted for impaired people. However the tone of the advert changes when the announcer
states Disabled people don t have to play the villain . The advert then proceeds to show impaired

Essential Illness In Lord Of The Flies Analysis
Author George R.R. Martin once said, there is a savage beast in every man, and when you hand that
man a sword or spear and send him forth to war, the beast stirs. Comparably this is exemplified
through the Holocaust. Hitler when a civil man, but once he was handed power, he instantly overused
it which caused him to harm millions of innocent people. Golding and authors Hersh, Tahiri, and
Schwartz, have revealed this situation through their stories to show how mankind s essential illness
affects those of all ages through different conditions. In the novel, Lord of the Flies, William Golding
uses Jack s desire for blood and to kill to portray man becoming savage from a civil state. Similarly

All of the past acts of betrayal that Medea did was in the cause of Jason but he chooses to betray her

understand more clearly about how Medea was convinced to do such a crime. She knew that if she had
to take her children with her during her exile, they had slim probability of survival. Also, if she left
them behind, they would not be safe as the royal family wouldn t like them after the death of princess.

Analysis Of Joseph Conrad s The Heart Of Darkness

Female Roles in Joseph Conrad s the Heart of Darkness:
In regards to Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, many literature reviews focus on the motifs of
Imperialism, the symbolism of darkness and fog, or the aspect of racism in Conrad s work. During the
era which Conrad wrote, England was going through the Victorian Era, which was marked by a shift
in views on morality. The term Victorian morality is used today to describe values which adopt a
social code of conduct in a restrictive way, such as views on sexual restraint and a low tolerance of
crime (Sanders, 2). The Victorian era saw social issues such as child labor and prostitution become
issues which influenced societal views on the roles of women in British society (Sanders, 10). These
social norms shaped men s views on women in general, giving rise to the underlining perceptions of
female purity and the role of women as homemakers. This essay will examine the role that societal
views on women in the 19th century had on Conrad s portrayal of women by the analysis of four sets
of minor characters in his book, Marlow s aunt, the two women knitting outside of the office, The
Intended (Kurtz fiancé), and Kurtz mistress.
Social exclusion became a popular topic among academics debating such topics as poverty and
unemployment. Social exclusion of women is the lack of social integration and power (Young, 1159).
In Conrad s work, he perpetuates the idea that

The Trolley Dilemma By Philippa Foot
The trolley dilemma was first created by Philippa Foot The Problem of Abortion and the Doctrine of
the Double Effect in 1967 as a thought experiment on ethics, it then evolutionized into what we know
today. Making us question human morality, write books annually and hold worldwide presentations. I
will explain the trolley dilemma and how Mill s Theory of Utility is the best way to approach this
problem, helping us attain the answer with the best moral outcome. The question states that there is a
trolley, a train, speeding down the railroad tracks which you are walking beside. You realized that
straight ahead there is five people tied up and unable to move from the tracks. You then noticed that
you are next to a lever that you can pull and switch to a different set of tracks. However, there is one
person on the other track tied up unable to move as well. You have two options: One, do nothing, and
the trolley kills the five people on the main track. Second, pull the lever, diverting the train onto the
side track where it will kill one person. What would you do is the final question? This sadistic
question was designed to test your moral values. It is studied in the cognitive science field,
neuroethics, psychology, law and philosophy today. It challenges people s beliefs, ethics,
philosophical beliefs and theories of consequentialism, utilitarianism theory and the bystander effect.

Joan Of Arc Research Paper
Joan of Arc I am not afraid... I was born to do this. said the hero, Joan of Arc. She is a warrior, saint,
and one of the best leaders this world has seen. Joan has seen God, brought her country to victory, and
has become a saint, in and after her lifetime. Her legacy lives on today, as she is still one of the
greatest human beings of the past today. Joan of Arc grew up in an uneducated and very poor family
who lived in Domrémy, France near Champagne during 1400 s. When she was born on January
6,1412 , France was on the edge of losing the Hundred Years War, and they had no chance of beating
the British that had already won multiple battles. Joan s father was a farmer, that made just enough for
his family. Joan spent her early life tending to the pastures and the farm animals. She was also taught
the art of spinning and sewing. She was also said to be a child that had been immensely dedicated to
Christianity.
At the early age of thirteen, she believed she had heard unearthly voices. Some of these voices even
came with visions which persuaded her into believing they belonged to St. Michael and to other early
saints, such as St. Catherine of Alexandria ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

is a painting of Joan by Jules Bastien Lepage. In most French cities, you can see a monument to her

Review of Culture Jam by Kalle Lasn
The advertising culture is having a devastating effect on our agendas of

media and corporations are the ones succeeding, not us. In Culture Jam, by Kale

When the average American thinks of consumerism, we believe it is the promotion

When I first picked this book up for class, I decided it would be a
great read. Something that would challenge my concrete thoughts and turn them into

Lasn has discussed, but I saw no conclusion at any point. Normally when we, as
thoughtful humans, are so adiment about a topic, we like to clarify a quick solution,

When mankind sinned through the noncompliance, we were singled out by God. Because of this the

Man cannot deny or deprive himself of these desires. It is solely through Christ who committed to

The reformation performed by Teresa of Avila created an evident change as she struggled against the
fact that men were only able do things such as reforming the church. It was extremely unusual for
women to make significant changes thus, it was very much a start of women gaining power in
religious aspects. Another achievement that led to a change in Catholics was Teresa s writings and
books. Her books were about her travels, reformation and establishment of convents and were
guidance for the other nuns/Catholics. After 25 years, in the Carmelite convent, Teresa established a
small convent in Avila called St Joseph s and this was the beginning of Teresa establishing many other
convents allowing other females to also become nuns. St Teresa also found that some of the church
was corrupt and tried to bring it back to focusing on the primitive rule so that Catholics could enjoy all
that God has to offer. Although this was successful Teresa was unable to remain in this place of prayer,
for the rest of her life, so she decided to travel across Spain, establishing new convents and followed
her reform vision of the Discalced Carmelite life. Hence, it is clearly illustrated that Teresa of Avila

Dbq Articles Of Confederation During The Years 1781 To 1789
During the years 1781 to 1789, the Articles of Confederation was the bases of the current government.
This confederation was set up to create a weak government, leaving main power in the state
legislatures. The people of the new United States did not foresee having a strong central government
in fear of a monarchy such as that of Great Britain s. To a significant extent, the government under
these articles were ineffective due to the lack of power in Congress and control of foreign relations.
A contribution to the downfall of the Articles of Confederation is the insufficiency of it. In 1782, the

Elizabeth Drew Bartow Stoddard
The 19th century Victorian era was a bleak time for public health, and even more so for soon to be
mothers. It was not a concern for governments, and the rate of death per 1000 births was staggering
(175 per 1000 births, and that was without account for race and class differences). In a time where
motherhood coupled with being a woman, being a woman often meant grief. This birthed the trend of
the female poetess of the Victorian era, and the child elegy became a common way to express this
grief. Elizabeth Drew Bartow Stoddard was no exception to the trend, or the child death count. In her
poem One morn I left him in his bed , Stoddard uses vivid imagery, unreliable narration, musical
sound devices, rhythm and meter, as well as a sorrowful tone to convey her anguish: the anguish of a
woman unable to cope with her son s death and is forced to face the reality of a world where he is not
alive. At the beginning of the poem we are faced with the morbid scene of a child being prepared for
burial; however if it were not stated in the previous stanza that the child is in fact dead, the audience
might not immediately pick up on it, thinking he might simply be sleeping with flowers in his hair,
and on his breast/ little hands together prest typical romanticized imagery one might see in a child
elegy. Without even a pause for breath though, we are thrown onto a boat to sail by night across the

The Costs Of Loss Prevention Essay
3. The Different Costs of Loss Prevention Detailed below are the costs of LP and, from them, we can
see that when weighed against the marginal benefit, it is a relatively low cost because LP budgets in
2014 averaged to be less than 1% of total 2014 sales and LP prevented more than that in shrink
(Hollinger et al., 2015: 6). All of the percentages listed below are from the most recent National Retail
Security Survey and they represent the different percentages of the loss prevention budget (Hollinger
et al., 2015: 8). This survey estimates that from the retail companies surveyed the mean percentage of
the LP budget spent on payroll expenses for the field and corporate members of the LP department is
0.22%, while their other non capital expenses excluding payroll, were, on average, 0.13% of the LP
budget (Hollinger et al., 2015: 8). Last year, the retail companies in this study spent on average 0.14%
on capital expenses, such as EAS pedestals and CCTVs. Overall, retailers surveyed in 2014 reported
an average shrink of 1.38%, however, three out of ten (30.3%) reported a higher average shrink for
2014 (Hollinger et al., 2015: 7). The National Retail Security Survey reports that the average
shrinkage rates in 2014 decreased or remained flat for more than six out of ten retailers (Hollinger et

In Tangerine, a sinkhole occurs from pages 81 to 83. Although the actual event of the sinkhole itself is

Separated by language, history and several hundred miles of the Mediterranean Sea, two of the world
s greatest cultures simultaneously matured and advanced in the centuries before the birth of
Christianity. In the Aegean north, Hellenic Greeks blossomed around their crown jewel of Athens,
while the eastern Holy City of Jerusalem witnessed the continued development of Hebrew tradition.
Though they shared adjacent portions of the globe and of chronology, these two civilizations grew up
around wholly different ideologies. The monotheistic devotion of Judaism that evolved in the Hebrew

The notion that all things in the world take part in some perfect and incorruptible form, a focus of the
Phaedo, is an idea attributed by modern scholars not to Socrates but to Plato himself. Ecclesiastes
shows a similar removal, for though it clearly speaks the words of Solomon (who predates the book by
half a millenium), its actual author is unknown and is usually said to be the prophet Koheleth, son of
David. Both works thus impersonate the philosophies of an esteemed ancient personage, but both
clearly are impregnated by the thoughts of their authors.
An examination of contextual similarities reveals that both texts clearly laud the value of wisdom.
Koheleth says to have set [his] mind to study and to probe with wisdom all that happens under the sun
(1:13) in much the same way that Socrates dedicates himself to a life of thought. Though Koheleth
warns, as wisdom grows, vexation grows (1:18), he decides after exploring the alternatives that
vexation is better than revelry (7:5) and that wisdom is more of a stronghold to a wise man than ten
magnates that a city might contain (7:19). Socrates offers a similar explanation: there is no way to
escape form evil or salvation for it except by becoming as good and wise as possible (107c d). Clearly

Corporate Finance Analyst Of The Investment Bank
Introduction:
The corporate finance analyst of the investment bank is required to compute the fair price of the bond
and to estimate the number of bond issuing. The computation is based on the yield to maturity, which
measures the return that an investor would expect to receive by holding a bond until maturity.
The Yield Curve, also known as term structure of interest rate, is a commonly used financial tool that
tracks the relation between the yields and the time to maturity of a bond. Estimating the yield on a non
currently traded bond and identifying mispriced bonds are the purposes of using the yield curve. It
could, furthermore, be used to forecast future performance of the yield on a bond. (Harris, 2014) The

Knowing that, the A rated bond, which was required to issue for the purpose of raising five million
dollars debt, had a coupon rate of 5.5%, a maturity of 15 years and one $1000 face value .
Results:
Considering the third order polynomial method with using the OLS regression, gave the values of
estimated parameters. (Table 1) Thus, the function of fitted yield curve, which estimated the
relationship between the yields and the time to maturity, could be determined. ( Fig. 2) Given that the
time to maturity of required issuing bond was 15 years, which could therefore gave the yield of
5.005% according to the fitted yield curve function. Consequently, this would give the bond price of
$1051.748 and the number of bond that investment bank should issue to raise debt was 4754. For a
more precise estimation, the sub data set of the A rated bonds that had the coupon rate ranging from
5% to 6% could be picked out and calculated with the same procedure applied as before. This would
then gave the the yield to maturity of 4.957%, bond price of 1056.979 and the number of issuing bond
of 4730. (Table 2)
Limitation:
The third order polynomial fitted yield curve approach gives the estimated relationship between yields
and maturities, however, the fitted trend is not capable enough to explain the variation in bond yields
perfectly. If the required issuing

Analysis Of Borderlands By Gloria Anzaldua
Speaking of Texas U.S. Southwest/Mexican border, the first thing appears in many people s mind is a
horizontal line with US on the upper side and Mexico on the lower, as depicted in maps. However, in
reality, a border serves more than just to separate states. In many occasions, it witnesses and bridges
social networks that stretch across border. These two functions seem to contradict each other but in
fact they exactly reflect the complex nature of borders, or, more realistically, borderlands, a term
coined to uproot in people the misleading image of a line. In her book Borderlands, the author Gloria
Anzaldua, as a descendent of Indians and Mexicans living close to the America Mexico border in
Southern Texas, defies such dualistic and simplistic thinking about the border/double sided or multi
sided dilemma, suggesting a new mestiza consciousness , a tolerance of ambiguity and a way of
creating new personal culture from her accounting with all three cultures, as opposed to adopting only
one of them without independent thinking and confronting against the rest. This new way of thinking
stems from the reality of borderlands but instead of stopping there the author expands its application
to establishing both cultural and sexual identities.
For Anzaldua, any borderland is a place of contradictions (preface 19), rendering border residents to
suffer from constant insecurity and perplexity as they struggle to keep their multiple identities intact.

Cold War And Communism Essay
The collapse of both the Soviet Union and socialism was a ceremony, yet to others, it was a failure. To
the everyday people who wanted rights to express, to live their life independent, and to vote, this was
a great accomplishment. To the individuals who were with the power, who did not oppose to such
policies, they remained oppressed by so a fall, especially communist bureaucrats. This large fall was
the origin of the ending of the Cold War. That was an ending to multiple catastrophic incidents that got
a point during, before, and later the Cold War. There are many cases to why the Soviet Union and
socialism in East Europe fell. The three top reasons were, the first being the Soviet s economic decline
from military spending, another being Gorbachev s perestroika and glasnost methods, and the three
being some neighboring nations of the Soviet Union were quickly facing socialism and taking fighting

power to arrest people and detain them for a limited time, along with other duties and powers. Some
police officers may have special duties, for example, such as law enforcement. The reason why they
play apart in law enforcement is because police officers are those who are empowered by the
government to enforce the laws. Police officers play a certain central role in the law enforcement
system, like monitoring criminal activity. Police officers when they first get their job they have one
job that they have to do every day, which is to serve and protect the citizens of

Reflection-Leg Ulcers
Reflecting Writing
Leg ulcers
Reflecting on the situation that had taken place during my second placement working in the
community. This will give me the perfect opportunity to develop and utilise my commutation skills in
order to maintain the relationships with my patient. In this reflection, I am going to use Gibbs (1988)
Reflective Cycle. This model is a recognised framework for my reflection. Gibbs (1988). Baird and
Winter (2005,) give some reasons why reflection is require in the reflective practice. They state that a
reflect is to generate the practice knowledge, assist an ability to adapt new situations, develop self
esteem and satisfaction as well as to value, develop and professionalizing practice. However, Siviter

Van Toller (1994) noted that malodour associated with skin ulceration can lead to serious
psychological problems, ranging from general depression to becoming a virtual social outcast.
The community nurses had actively encouraged Mrs. Smith to re establish social interactions with old
friends. However, Young (2005) observed that patients can interpret this type of encouragement as a
lack of understanding by nurses of the effect that their condition is having on their life. Wilkes et al
(2003) conducted a qualitative study on the effect of malodour on nurses and found that adverse
feelings such as nausea were common. However, nurses hide these emotions from their patients to
protect the patients feelings.
The community nurses decided that they needed to talk to Mrs. Smith about the odour and involve her
in selecting a dressing product that was designed to alleviate or reduce the problem. The assessment
identified that the wound was infected with beta haemolytic streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus
and a two week course of systemic antibiotics was prescribed.
Wound odour is often a complication of bacterial infection and the presence of infection explained
why Mrs. Smith had experienced a worsening of the odour in recent weeks (Hack, 2003).
Odour is subjective and is difficult to quantify accurately (de Laat et al, 2005). The wound assessment
tool we used incorporates a crude odour tick chart using the categories offensive ,

Editing Proofreading
Editing and Proofreading
This handout provides some tips and strategies for revising your writing. To give you a chance to
practice proofreading, we have left seven errors (three spelling errors, two punctuation errors, and two
grammatical errors) in the text of this handout. See if you can spot them!
Is editing the same thing as proofreading?
Although many people use the terms interchangeably, editing and proofreading are two different
stages of the revision process. Both demand close and careful reading, but they focus on different
aspects of the writing and employ different techniques.
Some tips that apply to both editing and proofreading
 Get some distance from the text! It s hard to edit or proofread a paper that you ve just finished ...

When you read silently or too quickly, you may skip over errors or make unconscious corrections. 
Separate the text into individual sentences. This is another technique to help you to read every
sentence carefully. Simply press the return key after every period so that every line begins a new
sentence. Then read each sentence separately, looking for grammar, punctuation, or spelling errors. If
you re working with a printed copy, try using an opaque object like a ruler or a piece of paper to
isolate the line you re working on.
 Circle every punctuation mark. This forces you to look at each one. As you circle, ask yourself if
the punctuation is correct.
 Read the paper backwards. This technique is helpful for checking spelling. Start with the last word
on the last page and work your way back to the beginning, reading each word separately. Because
content, punctuation, and grammar won t make any sense, your focus will be entirely on the spelling
of each word.
You can also read backwards sentence by sentence to check grammar; this will help you avoid
becoming distracted by content issues.
 Proofreading is a learning process. You re not just looking for errors that

Boeing and Supply Chain Structural Improvements Essay
Learning Plan 6
Graded Assignment: Boeing
Read the profile of Boeing and the company s 787 Dreamliner found in your textbook. This profile
serves as an excellent example of how a company used an infrastructure change to improve its supply
chain. In making this improvement, which of the five ways of implementing an infrastructure change,
identified in section 10.6 of your text, did Boeing employ? Do a little research on your own to identify
a company that has used the second main approach (i.e., a structural change) commonly employed by
organizations to improve their supply chains. Write a brief profile of the company you ve selected
following the pattern of the Boeing profile you ve just examined. The profile should be one to two

Essentially the change it made was number three in the listing detailed in section 10.6 of our text it
changed the configuration of factories, warehouses, or retail locations. When work usually performed
internally, is delegated to another firm, the company is said to outsource the work. Such is the case in
the construction of the Boeing 787. The companies involved include Messier Bughatti of France,
Rolls Royce of the UK, Alenia Aeronatuica of Italy, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan and
Chjengdu Aircraft Group of China. This outsourcing decision means that 85% of the construction of
this aircraft is supplied by strategic supply partners of Boeing. Those parts are eventually shipped to
the Boeing plant in Washington by road, rail, sea and plane for final assembly of the Dreamliner.
There are several other ways to make supply chain improvements. One of those ways includes the
pursuit of major process simplification. This is used to improve supply chains when the processes
have become so complex or so out of date that they are no longer cost efficient or no longer effective
to maintain. It is said that a clean slate approach is taken when the new processes are designed from
scratch without any consideration of the former process methods. This overhaul includes not only
major changes to the production itself but also includes changes made in the way the business

The Ratio Of The Monetary Model
It is no surprise that there have been many literatures on the determination of exchange rates given the
significant impact that movement in exchange rates have on a world s political and economic stability
as well as the welfare of individual countries. It plays an important role in international investments,
company profits and a countries macroeconomic fundamental factor such as unemployment, wages
and interest rates among others. This has led to the development of many models and economic
theories, one of which is the monetary model. Despite this, economists still cannot agree as to which
model best explains movement in exchange rates because the results obtained when testing different
models often contradict one another.
Though the research in this paper doesn t compare different economic models, it does look at the
sticky and flexible price monetary model of exchange rate determination and its variables. The paper
tests the adequacy of the monetary model (how good a job the model does in explaining movement in
exchange rates). It also shows how GDP, interest rates, money supply and inflation influences the
nominal exchange rates for the Eurozone, Japan and the UK against the USD.
The aim of this research is to test if the sticky and flexible price monetary model is valid, which of the
variables making up the model has the biggest impact in the movement of exchange rates for the case
of the Eurozone, Japan and the UK, and comparing the results obtained to provide

Will Trump s Lower The Tax Rate Reduce The Budget...
Will Trump s Lower the Tax Rate Reduce the Budget Deficit?
We have a long story of debt, but it seems no one has been able to make it better. If the debt is
increasing over time, the government has a budget deficit. Charles C. Turner, et al, defines the deficit
as spending that exceed a revenue (482). In history, basic deficit or debt was usually from over
spending from a war and economic issues like a recession or depression. Then the government had a
budget deficit almost every year between 1970 and 1997, but the tax cut and more spending on
defense by President Reagan in 1981 added more growth to the deficit. Also, another cause is from
reducing of productivity seem in the GDP and lower tax rate (tax cut) (483). Even when the
government had some budget surplus, still, it could not cover the debt. In 2012, the debt grew over $
16 trillion, (482 483) and has increased more in recent year plus 2.9 percent of the budget deficit in
2016 (The 2016 Long Term Budget Outlook, 2). To manage the economic depression, sometime
policymakers cut the taxes and increase spending again by putting more money into the private sectors
(Turner, 483); therefore, government goes further with the budget unbalancing. There are several
reasons that lower the tax rate will not reduce the budget deficit closer to a balance.
First, lower tax rate will lower revenues. Overall tax cuts for a new coming year will bring the
different amounts of revenue for the previous year if the tax rate falls

Eyewitness Testimony Of The Human Eye
In eyewitness testimony the human eye can distort or change what it sees. There are many intricate
parts of the eye that contribute to people s daily vision. Not everyone has the same form and order of
cells in their eyes. The rod cells are located on the perimeter of the retina. While the cone cells are
compacted together in the middle of the retina. Both of these cell types are clustered together but, are
not placed evenly throughout the eye. When the form of the cells create central vision the vision is
clear. The other form of the eye is peripheral vision which has less clear vision. When someone looks
around the eye can take a quick glance at an object and see many things, yet so much is going on in
the eye to produce this image. The eyes take in everything they see to create a smooth movement. This
makes the brain look at it as a motion picture. The eyes see three dimensional to notice every side of
an object. This can result in two different types of vision. Binocular vision which is where sight is
produced from both eyes. The other type is Stereoscopic vision where both eyes collect different
angles of an image and gives it depth. All the different forms and and visions in the eye can create a
different perception for each individual. The eye ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here are a few positive reasons for eyewitness testimony. One is eyewitness testimony can be used as
evidence. Another is that eyewitness testimony can influence the jury s decision. Lastly, it can help to
better understand what has happened and why. This does not mean eyewitness is the solution to all
cases. Here are a couple of negative aspects of eyewitness testimony. It depends on the witness
memory and bias opinion. Secondly, the witness could make up something due to pressure and
nervousness. Lastly, eyewitness testimony could end up convicting the wrong

He was a leader that went all out to achieve his goals and was identified as someone who was comfortable in his own suit , and believes in being successful his own way. According to one of the store managers that left, he said: after Nardelli arrived, things weren t presented to you; they were told to you . Considering all of these, I would not hire Nardelli. 2) Describe Home Depot when Nardelli took over. What kind of place was it? Is Nardelli a tyrant or a strong manager? Support your position. A strong foundation for success and growth was already in place in Home Depot under Marcus leadership. The company demonstrated a very strong culture, built on entrepreneurialism and customer service. Abundant promotion opportunities were created due to rapid growth attracting carpenters, plumbers and other building professionals as salespeople. • 5. The Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Credit Cards Nowadays credit cards are the preferred method of payment all around the world. Whether you re buying fruits at the market to TV s at the store, credit cards can be used to purchase almost anything you can imagine. But, like most things credit cards also have advantages and disadvantages that come with using them. Such as how easy it is to accrue credit card debt which affects your credit score. Some advantages that come with a credit card include building up your credit score, keeping your cash safe in case you lose your card, and reward programs. Credit cards can be extremely bad if you allow yourself to build up debt. It is extremely easy to build up debt. That s because many credit cards have high interest rates, which means the amount owed can quickly snowball out of control. (Bahney) The more money you spend with the credit card, the more money you owe the credit card company if you don t pay your monthly bills on time. Everyday commodities have slowly been increasing in price. One of the biggest drivers of our credit card debt is that cost of living has been outpacing income growth. (Bahney) The cost of living is more than the income of most families. That is a reason why consumer debt has reached a total of 1 trillion dollars in the United States. You have to pay extra money if you don t pay your bills on time. Failing to pay your credit card bills on time can hurt you in more ways than one. First, you ll face a late payment fee (Backman) Not only do you have to pay interest on top of the money owed but you also have to pay an extra late fee which just ends up hurting you even more. All of the late fees and interests you have to pay affect your credit score. being late with payments is a surefire way to damage your credit score, (Backham) Your credit score is basically a rating based on how well you pay your dues. Your credit score determines how much interest will be, whether your eligible for a credit card, and plenty of other things because they need to be able to trust that you ll pay them back. So, if your credit score goes downhill due to late fees and interest then people will be less likely to trust you with their money. The fight between Lawler and Dos Anjos headlines a loaded UFC Fight Night card in Canada. Coming off a unanimous decision victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 214 in July, Lawler is ranked second in the welterweight division. He truly needed the win over Cerrone, as he attempted to rebound from a bad knockout loss to Woodley at UFC 201 in July 2016. • 7. The Threat Of Terrorist Groups Place High Value There is substantial evidence which supports the idea that terrorist groups place high value is using shoulder fire MANPAD weapon systems to destroy civilian jet aircraft. Successfully attacking a civilian plane not only poses a great economic threat by effectively shutting down the commercial aviation industry, it would also create a loss of confidence in the United States ability to defend itself which, in of itself, holds great symbolic value. While the previous post examined mitigation strategies centered around the aircraft, this post examines potential strategies that may be used to minimize the threat from the ground, or more specifically, the airport. While no one strategy offers the ability to completely eliminate the threat, there is existing literature which offers potential strategies through a multi layered approach. Designing any sort of counter MANPAD strategy will likely cost a great amount of money, and airport planners will have to convince stakeholders the potential risk of a MANPAD incident. A coordinated or well planned attack which results in catastrophic loss of life and aircraft(s) would likely have cascading affects throughout the aviation industry, significantly effecting commerce and travel. It must therefore be understood that any front end investment, in millions, could likely insure continued daily operations in the event of a planned attack and preserve billions in potentially lost revenue on the back end. Essay on Racist Society in Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird Racist Society in Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird The way I perceive racism would be discrimination and prejudice against somebody with a different skin colour or ethical background. In To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses racial prejudice as the main subject matter either towards a single person (for example, Tom Robinson) or towards groups of people (for example, the black community in Maycomb.) To Kill a Mockingbird is set in the 1930 s. This is when the blacks have gained equal rights with white people. Jem then shows knowledge of racial politicians , the Ku Klux Klan, by responding to Atticus comment on that he had never heard of a gang in Maycomb. This is an early sign that Jem is growing up and able to see what is happening around him, that he doesn t just automatically accept what he sees. In the novel, racism shows up at both sides of the spectrum, either physical racism or verbal racism. The most severe form of physical racism is in chapter 24 when Tom Robinson is imprisoned and murdered when trying to escape even though he was assured by Atticus that he was confident in winning the case. During his murder, he was shot seventeen times whilst trying to escape the prison. If this was a non racist attack, however, he would have only been shot once in somewhere like the foot to bring him down. In some cases, verbal racism can be just as damaging as physical racism. • 10. The Marxist And Feminist Perspectives The marxist and feminist perspectives are both are utilized to gain a deeper understanding of literature. The feminist lens deals with the role of gender within literature, and the marxist lens focuses on the context of culture and society within literature. Each perspective plays off the other to create a cohesive approach to analyzing Brave New World. Aldous Huxley s Brave New World highlights the issues associated with a society with a disproportional basis in manufactured social structures. These dysfunctional social structures are created through a fundamental irony: knowledge both unities and destroys humanity. Huxley shows mankind, for the first time in history, united; however, the knowledge and intellect that created this ever lasting peace is also the same factor that stripped mankind of everything that makes it human. Aldous Huxley s dystopian society, within Brave New World, shows that knowledge is the unifying and destroying thread of humanity through the fabricated social hierarchy and preconditioned gender roles. The underpinning of Huxley s Brave New World is the unifying thread of mankind: knowledge. Through the course of history, mankind has struggled to find and maintain peace. However, in Huxley s vision of the future mankind has developed, manufactured, and fostered peace all through the knowledge gained from generations past. Mankind has three fundamental factors that drive it and are called the functions of life: assimilation, excitation, [and] ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This prompted me to consider why is the language of disability in constant change and has it evolved? I researched the historical language used to describe different types of disability. Firstly, I realised how the negative stigma of loss was attached to it (Barton 1996, p.8) and how the commencement of the Industrial Age began the medical labelling of those incapable of working in order to separate them from those who were reluctant to work (Oliver and Barnes 2012, pp. 14 15). Golding and authors Hersh, Tahiri, and Schwartz, have revealed this situation through their stories to show how mankind s essential illness affects those of all ages through different conditions. No matter how unholy it maybe, Medea still wants to give Jason a penalty which will cost him more than his death no children to continue his heritage. This article helps me understand more clearly about how Medea was convinced to do such a crime. She knew that if she had to take her children with her during her exile, they had slim probability of survival. Also, if she left them behind, they would not be safe as the royal family wouldn t like them after the death of princess. • 19. Analysis Of Joseph Conrad s The Heart Of Darkness Ally Jones Professor Smith English 1302 November 18, 2014 Female Roles in Joseph Conrad s the Heart of Darkness: In regards to Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, many literature reviews focus on the motifs of Imperialism, the symbolism of darkness and fog, or the aspect of racism in Conrad s work. During the era which Conrad wrote, England was going through the Victorian Era, which was marked by a shift in views on morality. The term Victorian morality is used today to describe values which adopt a social code of conduct in a restrictive way, such as views on sexual restraint and a low tolerance of crime (Sanders, 2). The Victorian era saw social issues such as child labor and prostitution become issues which influenced societal views on the roles of women in British society (Sanders, 10). These social norms shaped men s views on women in general, giving rise to the underlining perceptions of female purity and the role of women as homemakers. This essay will examine the role that societal views on women in the 19th century had on Conrad s portrayal of women by the analysis of four sets of minor characters in his book, Marlow s aunt, the two women knitting outside of the office, The Intended (Kurtz fiancé), and Kurtz mistress. Social exclusion became a popular topic among academics debating such topics as poverty and unemployment. Social exclusion of women is the lack of social integration and power (Young, 1159). The Trolley Dilemma By Philippa Foot The trolley dilemma was first created by Philippa Foot The Problem of Abortion and the Doctrine of the Double Effect in 1967 as a thought experiment on ethics, it then evolutionized into what we know today. Making us question human morality, write books annually and hold worldwide presentations. I will explain the trolley dilemma and how Mill s Theory of Utility is the best way to approach this problem, helping us attain the answer with the best moral outcome. The question states that there is a trolley, a train, speeding down the railroad tracks which you are walking beside. You realized that straight ahead there is five people tied up and unable to move from the tracks. You then noticed that you are next to a lever that you can pull and switch to a different set of tracks. However, there is one person on the other track tied up unable to move as well. You have two options: One, do nothing, and the trolley kills the five people on the main track. Second, pull the lever, diverting the train onto the side track where it will kill one person. What would you do is the final question? This sadistic question was designed to test your moral values. It is studied in the cognitive science field, neuroethics, psychology, law and philosophy today. It challenges people s beliefs, ethics, philosophical beliefs and theories of consequentialism, utilitarianism theory and the bystander effect. There are several variations to this ... It was not a concern for governments, and the rate of death per 1000 births was staggering (175 per 1000 births, and that was without account for race and class differences). In a time where motherhood coupled with being a woman, being a woman often meant grief. This birthed the trend of the female poetess of the Victorian era, and the child elegy became a common way to express this grief. Elizabeth Drew Bartow Stoddard was no exception to the trend, or the child death count. In her poem One morn I left him in his bed , Stoddard uses vivid imagery, unreliable narration, musical sound devices, rhythm and meter, as well as a sorrowful tone to convey her anguish: the anguish of a woman unable to cope with her son s death and is forced to face the reality of a world where he is not alive. At the beginning of the poem we are faced with the morbid scene of a child being prepared for burial; however if it were not stated in the previous stanza that the child is in fact dead, the audience might not immediately pick up on it, thinking he might simply be sleeping with flowers in his hair, and on his breast/ little hands together prest typical romanticized imagery one might see in a child elegy. This survey estimates that from the retail companies surveyed the mean percentage of the LP budget spent on payroll expenses for the field and corporate members of the LP department is 0.22%, while their other non capital expenses excluding payroll, were, on average, 0.13% of the LP budget (Hollinger et al., 2015: 8). The notion that all things in the world take part in some perfect and incorruptible form, a focus of the Phaedo, is an idea attributed by modern scholars not to Socrates but to Plato himself. Ecclesiastes shows a similar removal, for though it clearly speaks the words of Solomon (who predates the book by half a millenium), its actual author is unknown and is usually said to be the prophet Koheleth, son of David. Both works thus impersonate the philosophies of an esteemed ancient personage, but both clearly are impregnated by the thoughts of their authors. An examination of contextual similarities reveals that both texts clearly laud the value of wisdom. Koheleth says to have set [his] mind to study and to probe with wisdom all that happens under the sun (1:13) in much the same way that Socrates dedicates himself to a life of thought. Though Koheleth warns, as wisdom grows, vexation grows (1:18), he decides after exploring the alternatives that vexation is better than revelry (7:5) and that wisdom is more of a stronghold to a wise man than ten magnates that a city might contain (7:19). Corporate Finance Analyst Of The Investment Bank Introduction: The corporate finance analyst of the investment bank is required to compute the fair price of the bond and to estimate the number of bond issuing. The Yield Curve, also known as term structure of interest rate, is a commonly used financial tool that tracks the relation between the yields and the time to maturity of a bond. • 38. Analysis Of Borderlands By Gloria Anzaldua Speaking of Texas U.S. Southwest/Mexican border, the first thing appears in many people s mind is a horizontal line with US on the upper side and Mexico on the lower, as depicted in maps. However, in reality, a border serves more than just to separate states. In many occasions, it witnesses and bridges social networks that stretch across border. These two functions seem to contradict each other but in fact they exactly reflect the complex nature of borders, or, more realistically, borderlands, a term coined to uproot in people the misleading image of a line. In her book Borderlands, the author Gloria Anzaldua, as a descendent of Indians and Mexicans living close to the America Mexico border in Southern Texas, defies such dualistic and simplistic thinking about the border/double sided or multi sided dilemma, suggesting a new mestiza consciousness , a tolerance of ambiguity and a way of creating new personal culture from her accounting with all three cultures, as opposed to adopting only one of them without independent thinking and confronting against the rest. This new way of thinking stems from the reality of borderlands but instead of stopping there the author expands its application to establishing both cultural and sexual identities. For Anzaldua, any borderland is a place of contradictions (preface 19), rendering border residents to suffer from constant insecurity and perplexity as they struggle to keep their multiple identities intact. To the individuals who were with the power, who did not oppose to such policies, they remained oppressed by so a fall, especially communist bureaucrats. This large fall was the origin of the ending of the Cold War. That was an ending to multiple catastrophic incidents that got a point during, before, and later the Cold War. There are many cases to why the Soviet Union and socialism in East Europe fell. The three top reasons were, the first being the Soviet s economic decline from military spending, another being Gorbachev s perestroika and glasnost methods, and the three being some neighboring nations of the Soviet Union were quickly facing socialism and taking fighting against their regime. All these matters slowly and eventually led to the crumbling of the Soviet Union and socialism in Eastern Europe. • 40. What Is Criminal Justice Essay I believe that criminal justice is all about dealing with sustaining the law involving police, lawyers, courts, and corrections. Criminal Justice in my substantial belief is all about a system that s brought up by law for bringing the people in society to justice. Criminal Justice is all about bringing the criminal up and conducting what must be done to uphold justice to the people. Criminal Justice is distinct from criminal law, which I believe defines the specific behaviors that are forbidden by and punishable under law. Criminal Justice begins when a crime is reported to the police or when a police officer discovers that a crime has been committed. Criminal Justice also has to do with the control of criminal behavior. Criminal Justice objective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When you think about police officer what do you know about them, are they law enforcement or criminal justice? Well if you ask me, I believe, in my opinion that a police officer is a person that focuses on protecting the people and bring forth criminals that break the law. Police officers are in charge of enforcing laws within their city. If you go to a neighboring city, say like Chicago, that city has its own police force. Police officers are often charged with the criminals and detection of crime, protection and assistance of the public. Police officers are normally sworn with an oath, and have the power to arrest people and detain them for a limited time, along with other duties and powers. Some police officers may have special duties, for example, such as law enforcement. The reason why they play apart in law enforcement is because police officers are those who are empowered by the government to enforce the laws. Police officers play a certain central role in the law enforcement system, like monitoring criminal activity. Police officers when they first get their job they have one job that they have to do every day, which is to serve and protect the citizens of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Van Toller (1994) noted that malodour associated with skin ulceration can lead to serious psychological problems, ranging from general depression to becoming a virtual social outcast. The community nurses had actively encouraged Mrs. Smith to re establish social interactions with old friends. However, Young (2005) observed that patients can interpret this type of encouragement as a lack of understanding by nurses of the effect that their condition is having on their life. Wilkes et al (2003) conducted a qualitative study on the effect of malodour on nurses and found that adverse feelings such as nausea were common. However, nurses hide these emotions from their patients to protect the patients feelings. The community nurses decided that they needed to talk to Mrs. Smith about the odour and involve her in selecting a dressing product that was designed to alleviate or reduce the problem. The assessment identified that the wound was infected with beta haemolytic streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus and a two week course of systemic antibiotics was prescribed. Wound odour is often a complication of bacterial infection and the presence of infection explained why Mrs. Smith had experienced a worsening of the odour in recent weeks (Hack, 2003). Odour is subjective and is difficult to quantify accurately (de Laat et al, 2005). The wound assessment tool we used incorporates a crude odour tick chart using the categories offensive , ... See if you can spot them! Is editing the same thing as proofreading? Although many people use the terms interchangeably, editing and proofreading are two different stages of the revision process. Both demand close and careful reading, but they focus on different aspects of the writing and employ different techniques. When you read silently or too quickly, you may skip over errors or make unconscious corrections.  Separate the text into individual sentences. This is another technique to help you to read every sentence carefully. Simply press the return key after every period so that every line begins a new sentence. Then read each sentence separately, looking for grammar, punctuation, or spelling errors. If you re working with a printed copy, try using an opaque object like a ruler or a piece of paper to isolate the line you re working on.  Circle every punctuation mark. This forces you to look at each one. As you circle, ask yourself if the punctuation is correct.  Read the paper backwards. This technique is helpful for checking spelling. Start with the last word on the last page and work your way back to the beginning, reading each word separately. Because content, punctuation, and grammar won t make any sense, your focus will be entirely on the spelling of each word. You can also read backwards sentence by sentence to check grammar; this will help you avoid becoming distracted by content issues.  Proofreading is a learning process. Essentially the change it made was number three in the listing detailed in section 10.6 of our text it changed the configuration of factories, warehouses, or retail locations. When work usually performed internally, is delegated to another firm, the company is said to outsource the work. Such is the case in the construction of the Boeing 787. The companies involved include Messier Bughatti of France, Rolls Royce of the UK, Alenia Aeronatuica of Italy, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan and Chjengdu Aircraft Group of China. This outsourcing decision means that 85% of the construction of this aircraft is supplied by strategic supply partners of Boeing. Those parts are eventually shipped to the Boeing plant in Washington by road, rail, sea and plane for final assembly of the Dreamliner. There are several other ways to make supply chain improvements. One of those ways includes the pursuit of major process simplification. This is used to improve supply chains when the processes have become so complex or so out of date that they are no longer cost efficient or no longer effective to maintain. It is said that a clean slate approach is taken when the new processes are designed from scratch without any consideration of the former process methods. • 45. The Ratio Of The Monetary Model It is no surprise that there have been many literatures on the determination of exchange rates given the significant impact that movement in exchange rates have on a world s political and economic stability as well as the welfare of individual countries. It plays an important role in international investments, company profits and a countries macroeconomic fundamental factor such as unemployment, wages and interest rates among others. This has led to the development of many models and economic theories, one of which is the monetary model. Despite this, economists still cannot agree as to which model best explains movement in exchange rates because the results obtained when testing different models often contradict one another. Though the research in this paper doesn t compare different economic models, it does look at the sticky and flexible price monetary model of exchange rate determination and its variables. The paper tests the adequacy of the monetary model (how good a job the model does in explaining movement in exchange rates). It also shows how GDP, interest rates, money supply and inflation influences the nominal exchange rates for the Eurozone, Japan and the UK against the USD. The aim of this research is to test if the sticky and flexible price monetary model is valid, which of the variables making up the model has the biggest impact in the movement of exchange rates for the case of the Eurozone, Japan and the UK, and comparing the results obtained to provide ... • 46. Will Trump s Lower The Tax Rate Reduce The Budget... Will Trump s Lower the Tax Rate Reduce the Budget Deficit? We have a long story of debt, but it seems no one has been able to make it better. If the debt is increasing over time, the government has a budget deficit. Charles C. Turner, et al, defines the deficit as spending that exceed a revenue (482). In history, basic deficit or debt was usually from over spending from a war and economic issues like a recession or depression. Then the government had a budget deficit almost every year between 1970 and 1997, but the tax cut and more spending on defense by President Reagan in 1981 added more growth to the deficit. Also, another cause is from reducing of productivity seem in the GDP and lower tax rate (tax cut) (483). Even when the government had some budget surplus, still, it could not cover the debt. In 2012, the debt grew over $ 16 trillion, (482 483) and has increased more in recent year plus 2.9 percent of the budget deficit in 2016 (The 2016 Long Term Budget Outlook, 2). To manage the economic depression, sometime policymakers cut the taxes and increase spending again by putting more money into the private sectors (Turner, 483); therefore, government goes further with the budget unbalancing. There are several reasons that lower the tax rate will not reduce the budget deficit closer to a balance. First, lower tax rate will lower revenues. Overall tax cuts for a new coming year will bring the different amounts of revenue for the previous year if the tax rate falls ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Eyewitness Testimony Of The Human Eye In eyewitness testimony the human eye can distort or change what it sees. There are many intricate parts of the eye that contribute to people s daily vision. Not everyone has the same form and order of cells in their eyes. The rod cells are located on the perimeter of the retina. While the cone cells are compacted together in the middle of the retina. Both of these cell types are clustered together but, are not placed evenly throughout the eye. When the form of the cells create central vision the vision is clear. The other form of the eye is peripheral vision which has less clear vision. When someone looks around the eye can take a quick glance at an object and see many things, yet so much is going on in the eye to produce this image. The eyes take in everything they see to create a smooth movement. This makes the brain look at it as a motion picture. The eyes see three dimensional to notice every side of an object. This can result in two different types of vision. Binocular vision which is where sight is produced from both eyes. The other type is Stereoscopic vision where both eyes collect different angles of an image and gives it depth. All the different forms and and visions in the eye can create a different perception for each individual. The eye ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
