Theme Of Orientism In A Passage To India
Foster discusses the possibility of interaction between the East and the West. Literature forms a major
part in the interaction between nations. The concept of the West on the East is that they are simply
barbarians, uncultured and illiterates and meant to be ruled and controlled. The West considers the
East as orients and in literal an image of the Other . The basic idea of orientalism is that east is what is
not west but it is mysterious, holy, dark, strange, attractive and barbaric. In their concept and
perception, East is unreasonable and people there are not themselves and therefore need to be ruled.
Right from the beginning till the end, the novel A Passage to India , picturizes India as a holy nation,
known for its ageless history, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Forster pours out his own conception of colonized India based on his several visits to India. The
description of nature, the caves, and the people with reference to their culture shows the hegemony of
the West on the East.
In the beginning of the novel, the characters are discussing as to whether it is possible to be friends
with the English man or not. Further it brings to picture the existence of bribe, which the British
people practised in India. They accept it and do nothing. Mrs. Moore says, The English are out here to
be pleasant .
Mrs. Moore is a British woman who has perfect understanding of India and has good understanding of
the
Indians. Mrs. Moore and Adela are the British women who come to India to understand the real India:
India is really for older. They present caves as dark caves . Even when they open towards the sun, very
little light penetrates down the entrance tunnel into the circular chamber. This states that the country is
still in darkness without light of freedom and selfhood. Cave represents the country.
While Aziz talks to Mrs. Moore and Miss Quested, they converse about the Mughal emperors, Babur,
Humayun, Akbar and Aurangzeb. Akbar never repented of the new religion he invented instead of the

The Obsatment Theory Of Edward Gein
Edward Theodore Gein was born on August 27th, 1906 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to an alcoholic father
and an extremely religious mother who taught him that sex was a sinful act an early age and preached
her religious teachings to both Ed and his brother. By 1915 Gein s mother had decided to move the
family to a farm in Plainfield Wisconsin and only let him go out in order to go to school. Due to this,
the main influence in his life was his mother. Once his mother died in 1945 Gein s obsessive
attachment to her and her teachings would end up making him one of the most heinous and notorious
killers in American history. This essay will show how the attachment theory is applicable in Ed Gein s
case. More specifically, how Gein s attachment to his mother and how her death ultimately proved to
be deadly. Gein s most influential childhood influence was his mother Augusta who was a very strict
and religious woman. Augusta despised her husband who was an alcoholic and wanted to raise her
children in a religious environment in order to keep them away from a life of sin. Gein s father was
unable to keep a steady job and finally decided to move to a farm isolated from urbanization. ( A E
Television Network, 2017) Gein s father would both verbally and physically abuse him and his brother
Henry as a result of alcoholism. Although his mother would also verbally abuse him Gein idolized her.
His mother used the opportunity the farm presented in order to turn away anyone who she thought

Social Class System Of The Mesoamerican Empire
The Aztecs are known as the last powerful Mesoamerican Empire. The Aztecs were once a nomadic
tribe and during the 13th century, found a home in central Mexico. At their peak, between 1345 and
1521, The Aztecs controlled 80,000 square miles throughout central Mexico. The Aztec empire had a
very intricate social class system. There were two main social classes in Aztec culture. First the
nobility or pilli, then the common people or macehualli. The nobility had many special privileges.
People of nobility received a higher level of education, wore ostentatious clothing and decorated their
home. Nobility were also able to hold government positions. Not all nobility were leaders or relatives
of other noblemen. People could move up ranks by distinction. Commoners were mostly hired to work
farms but were able to support themselves. There were also slaves, but unlike many other cultures, the
slaves were treated generally well. Slavery was not hereditary, therefore, the children of a slave were
always free. A slave could also purchase freedom if he had enough money. If a person was in an
economic hardship, he could put himself into slavery. In Aztec culture, education was mandatory
regardless of gender or caste. Boys usually received a more extensive education than girls. Girls were
taught how to cook and manage a home, but they were also taught how to economically run a home.
Women had power in Aztec society. There were two main classes of education. First the calmecac,

Visions Of Light Analysis
The documentary Visions of Light was made for the purpose of showing the art of cinematography.
Cinematography was defined throughout the film as the making of a motion picture. I found out that I
was unconsciously responding to light. said by Ernest Dickerson an American film director and
cinematographer. Light is thought of to be something so little but means so much in a film. It is used
to change the emotion and to tell people where to look. What s important are the lights you don t turn
on said by Allen Daviau. As explained in the documentary, the dark was not used as negative space
but as the most important part of the scene. This means they took advantage of the darkness, they used
it as a tool to add in emotion such as sadness or fear. Visions of Light uses John Alton s film T men

the 1930 s the lighting creates a glossy, glamorous, harder edge look. During the 1940 s the lighting

many scenes with a hand help camera allowing it to be brought in new settings for scenes which led to
the lighting to be used differently. In the clips from Touch of Evil the lighting changes from light to
dark drastically but never leads on an unclear story behind what is going on. Throughout the 1960 s

light flared into the camera lens, this created an effect considered a mistake by many but a new effect

colors were bright and bold. As the many years passed cinematographers were able to learn new ways

South Africa Apartheid (oppression)
Oppression is at the root of many of the most serious, enduring conflicts in the world today. Racial
and religious conflicts; conflicts between dictatorial governments and their citizens; the battle between
the sexes; conflicts between management and labor; and conflicts between heterosexuals and
homosexuals all stem, in whole or in part, to oppression. It s similar to an article in south africa that
people have with racial segregation between black and white . Many people need to know that
indiviual have their own rights in laws and freedom . Everyone should have an equal rights and better
community . A black person would be of or accepted as a member of an African tribe or race, and a
colored person is one that is not black or white. The Department of Home Affairs (a government
bureau) was responsible for the classification of the citizenry. Non compliance with the race laws were
dealt with harshly. All blacks were required to carry ``pass books containing fingerprints, photo and
information on access to non black areas. The apartheid in South Africa which was in effect from 1948
until 1994 was not only a racist policy which greatly affected the quality of life of minorities in the
country for the worse but was a outright crime against humanity. It include with civil right that

PA Position Analysis
A PA is a healthcare provider that practices medicine. Through schooling and experience in the
medical field, PAs can diagnose and treat patients as well as prescribe medicine. The job outlook for
the PA position is very bright. Per the American Academy of Physician Assistants, three quarters of
PAs receive multiple job offers upon passing their initial licensing and certification exams. Studies
also show that financial success within a hospital correlates with maximum usage of its PAs ( What Is
A PA, n.d.). Due to the growing and aging population, the demand for healthcare services is increasing
rapidly. From 2014 to 2024, the PA position is expected to grow by a rate of thirty percent. Per the

The Correct Methodology of Selecting CEOs Essay
The Correct Methodology of Selecting CEOs Abstract Selecting the correct methodology for
recruiting your next chief executive officer is undoubtedly one of the most difficult decisions that a
board of directors will ever have to make. Horse races, promotion contests, and the extensive use of
executive search firms have proven to be the most common forms of selecting company s top
executives. The fight to hold to the title of CEO between internal and external candidates is cut throat
and in most cases, a popularity contest based on reputation alone. Selecting the proper method of
recruitment helps companies to eliminate these battles and pick the top candidate based on their
qualifications such as their credentials, experience, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the horse race is taking place internally, most boards still choose to search outside of the company
for qualified candidates to fill the leadership position (Citrin, 2009). This allows the board to assess
how well its internal employees are matching up against external applicants. Horse races can also turn
into popularity contests, in which the stakeholders and board members will exercise their stakeholder
power (Lawrence Weber, 2008). This stakeholder power gives the board members and stakeholders
the ability to use resources to make an event happen and secure the outcome that they see fit. In turn,
this method creates a high stress environment for those competing in the horse race and can even be
distracting to the organization as a whole (Citrin, 2009). According to Citrin (2009), in a horse race
competition for CEO, there is a clear winner and a clear loser in the battle. In most cases, the loser will
end up leaving the company to pursue other executive leadership positions which is a disadvantage
because of the loss of long term, quality employee. In the fight for a corporate leadership position, the
horse race methodology of selecting a CEO is dated and seems to have far more disadvantages than
advantages. Promotion Contests Promotion contests are informal contests that

Summary Of The Veldt By Ray Bradbury
Bradbury s Words to You
Desmond Tutu, a South African leader once said, You do not choose your family. They are God s gift
to you, as you are to them. In the short story The Veldt , Ray Bradbury conveys the idea that no
material object that has ever been crafted, is more valuable than your family because your family
provides you with vital growth. He does this by telling the tragic tale of parents Lydia and George who
are killed by their spoiled and technology obsessed children, Wendy and Peter. Through foreshadow,
symbolism and imagery, Bradbury believes that kids need to respect their parents, otherwise there will
be grave consequences.
Bradbury uses the term The Happy House in an ironic manner to foreshadow the very unhappy demise
of the Hadley family. The Hadley s home consists of an abundance of high technological machines to
do all the work around the house for them, called the Happylife Home . The description of the house
provides the reader with an understanding that the family is very lazy for having machines doing all
the work for them as they are described as ... the house that bathed and fed them and was good to them
. However, despite the comforts this home brings, the Hadley parents become more and more worried
with the machines throughout the story. The beginning of the story foreshadows this: George, I wish
you d look at the nursery. What s wrong with it? I don t know. I just want you to look at it, is all, or
call a psychologist in to look at it.

The scene opens to a fatigued Willy Loman returning home after an unsuccessful business trip. His
wife Linda, worried over Willy s state of mind and recent car accident, offers up explanations of his
current state, diverting from the thought of his senility and pressures him to rest. Willy grumbles to
Linda that their son, Biff, has yet to create a life for himself. Despite Biff s promise as a star athlete in
high school, he failed senior year math and never attended college, seeming to wander aimlessly. Biff

that moment, Biff s views of his father change and set Biff adrift in life. Biff leaves the restaurant in
frustration, followed by Happy and two girls that Happy has picked up. They leave Willy behind in the

attempt to reconcile with Willy. The discussion quickly escalates into another dispute, at which point

A Research Study On Synthetic Biology
2.1 Fundamental research
Synthetic biology has a lot to offer in fundamental research. Starting from the most well characterised
laboratory organism, E.coli, we are still in half way from full knowledge of understanding the function
of all its genes as the functions of 20% of them are still to be identified (Keseler et al., 2011).
Moreover there are many more other microorganisms with great importance which are even less well
understood.
Synthetic biology provides the ability to make specific modifications to the genome of a model
organism and to use this as a tool to study and understand the fundamental biological processes of
microorganisms, plants and animals and apply this knowledge to create novel products. One of the
major application is that these findings will expand the biological repertoire available for the
designing of new genetic pathways, proteins and cells to manipulate biological reactions that normally
occur. The current ambition is to create a database of shared standardised parts that will be used to
manipulate DNA. An example is the BioBricks Foundation which provides open access to DNA
sequences for cloning and expression of different nucleic acids and proteins. The information that
BioBricks provides, is shared through iGEM the annual international competition to students from
across the world who want to do research and give solutions to real world problems, such as
environmental pollution. (Synthetic Biology: opportunities for Scotland, 2014)

The book describes Bottom as a neighborhood atop the hills, overlooking the town of Medallion in
Ohio. The time is 1919, immediately after WWI. The irony in the name of the neighborhood is that
instead of being located at the bottom, it is actually above the town. The name came from a white
landowner trying to fool a freed slave into thinking that this location was more desirable than the
valley because it was the bottom of heaven best land there is. (p. 5). The trick worked at the time, but
after settling in, most residents realized the inaccuracy of the statement. Shadrack is an African

Game Design Essay
In the beginning of our game design, we weren t really sure what type of game we would like to make.
Each group member pitched in an idea for us to consider; one was a board game with extensive RPG
elements, and another was a card game that was a combination of two other famous card games. The
group had a vote and the card game idea won out. At this stage, the aim of the game was to be a
combination of two other card games. It would have the structure and playstyle of Egyptian Rat Screw
while incorporating the idea of special cards from UNO . We didn t have knowledge on how certain
mobile games were successful at this point, so that idea was the best that we had.
As the game called for special cards akin to UNO , there were numerous ... Show more content on

The main reason for this was that it would create too much confusion about the rules, as constantly
adding new rules would require the player to slow down and think. Another problem would be
keeping track of who owned each card. This would become a problem if players had the same special
cards.
Initially, our game was planned to be a trading card game, in which players had to acquire their own
special cards in order to play the game. We voted on this idea as a way to create more distinction
between our game and Egyptian Rat Screw . This idea was expanded upon during the third week
where the games Magic: the Gathering and Hearthstone could provide a good model for how we
might shape our card game. Special cards were to be used on along the standard playing card deck. A
consequence of this rule was that we would have to make up a lot of different card effects while also
making sure that they were balanced. Our first method of balancing came from labeling the power of
the cards as low, medium, or high. Our rules indicated that each player would only be able to add a
certain amount of cards from each power level so that each player wouldn t seriously outrank another
player. An alternative to the balancing we had was that each player could bring in any amount of high
powered cards that they want so that players would feel like their own cards helped them win the
game more easily and feel a sense of ownership of their chosen cards. Another consequence of making

In the other hand, we notice that there is a non linear distribution between Sales Advertising
(Appendix 1 Figure 3) which would lead us to build our regression model using the squared value of

Correlation
Before going forward and do additional analysis, we might consider looking at the multi colinearity
issues if any. In fact, the multi collinearity problem does not result in biased coefficient estimates, but
does increase the standard error of the estimates and thus reduces their reliability. According to
(Appendix 2 Correlation), we notice a low correlation between explanatory variables: So there is no
multi collinearity issue. We keep all the presented independent variables and we carry out the
regression so as to be able to go further in the analysis. Regression is very likely to be reliable after
this correlation analysis.
Regression
We might now consider doing some regression analysis. In fact, the main objective of regression
analysis is to explain variability of the dependent variable by means of one or more of independent or
control variables. Regression 1 SUMMARY OUTPUT Regression Statistics Multiple R 0.95 R Square

Culture differs from one location to another because of the different population in those areas. A
population is an entire group of individual persons, objects, or items from which the sample are being
drawn. The cultures in neighborhoods are different because neighborhoods rise and fall, and this often
brings about changes in the population. A method called participant observation can answer questions
about the culture of the population being observed. Participant observation is a qualitative research
method that aims to uncover the meanings people give to their own social actions by observing their
behavior in practice. By hanging out in a community observing the population over a long period of

These so called elite athletes are so professional , then why do we even have the need for drug testing?
If elite athletes demonstrated an acceptable standard of professionalism, then there would be no need
for this drug testing business because the athletes would be able to be trusted. As our first speaker has
stated, elite athletes have a winning mindset. This could be one of the reasons they choose to use as an
excuse for taking drugs and cheating, to be the best all the time, because that it how they were brought
up. A study shows that doping prevalence may be as high as 48%. Even before elite level they take
low level drugs such as: pre workout drugs, Anabolic steroids, Androstenedione, Human Growth
Hormone (HGH), Erythropoietin, Diuretics, Creatine and Stimulants. These drugs are so harmful, yet
so many are constantly using them. What kind of imprint is this making on our youth, the young,
impressionable minds of today, that look up to these elite athletes as their role models? This brings me
on to my next point, regarding why athletes need the good behavioural contracts to stipulate their
behaviour.
Why do elite athletes need good behavioural contracts to stipulate what they can and can t do? If their
professionalism was to an acceptable standard, then they would already know what they can and can t
do. Many of the behavioural contracts have clauses that stipulate that the elite athletes may

Introduction
The leading cause of death for people age 1 45 years old in North America is traumatic brain injury
(TBI). With slightly higher prevalence in men and an increase in frequency before the age of 30, TBI
is a significant cause of morbidity. TBI that occurs during adolescence and early adulthood can lead to
increased challenges with physical, emotional, and mental function during recovery.

Lucas v. South Carolina Coastal Council Essay
Lucas v. South Carolina Coastal Council
Problem: David H. Lucas purchased two beach front lots on Isle of Palms in Charleston county in
1986 for 900,000 with intent to later build one single family home on each lot. The following year
when South Carolina conducted a survey of the coast line the rustles showed that the beaches of South
Carolina were critically eroding. Due to the rustles of the survey South Carolina issued the Beachfront
Management Act (BMA). The act placed restraints on the usage of land along the coast line, and
because the building line was moved inward Lucas lots were affected with no exceptions provided.
When he bought those lots the year before that particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The court agreed that Lucas had suffered a total loss of the value of his property and concluded that
regulatory taking had occurred. On appeal, the South Carolina Supreme Court revised the decision, on
the grounds that the BMA had been passed to prevent serious harm to the public. Lucas petitioned the
U.S. Supreme Court to review the case and the Court sided with Lucas saying that the Beachfront
Management Act of 1988 had not been designed to benefit the state in obtaining land for public use,
but was to prevent harm to the public. The Court ruled that Lucas suffered a taking, and that his
property was rendered valueless by South Carolina statue and that he was entitled to just
compensation as stated in the fifth and fourteen adamants of our Constitution. Significance: Although
the South Carolina Supreme Court decided that state regulations were designed to prevent serious
public harm, the U.S. Supreme Court held that when a property owner suffered a taking, there were no
exceptions from common rule ( the Takings Clause and the just Compensation Clause). Furthermore,
when the state of South Carolina amended its original statute by including provisions that might
permit limited construction, the U.S. Supreme Court held that property owners must still be
compensated. Even when legislation later renders the initial act less restrictive,

The Meaning Of Human Reflection In Emily Dickinson s Poetry
The question of, what is human understanding, can be complex to answer. Human understanding can
be seen in two different ways. The understanding of the majority, meaning that of a group, which
follows a certain ideology. It may also be seen as, the understanding of an individual, who ultimately
decides which ideology to follow or even which to create. Since, Emily Dickinson s poetry is the
subject, it is more appropriate to view human understanding as that of an individual. This is because,
Dickinson, herself, was quite an isolated individual, keeping to herself that poetry which is being
analysed in this treatment. It seems as though Dickinson held an acute understanding of the meaning
of individuality, a very human understanding of what it means to be one in a million. Because I Could
Not Stop For Death takes the insight of a soul which has passed from life to the afterlife and the
process of interacting with death. In a similar fashion, I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died speaks of the
reflection of an individual during their last moments and how something so simple, like the buzz of a
fly, can give peace. The Brain Is Wider Than The Sky calls attention and in a way celebrates the
capacity of the human brain. Emily Dickinson s Because I Could Not Stop For Death, I Heard A Fly
Buzz When I Died, and The Brain Is Wider Than The Sky present human understanding as both
unlimited and limited, boundless and small, which defines Dickinson s view of the individual self to
be profound, reflective and limitless. In Because I Could Not Stop For Death, Emily Dickinson
presents her profound view of life after death and compares it to the human understanding of death.
There is a distinction between what is considered death and Dickinson s view of death. Death is often
seen as something unwanted, unwelcomed, but for Dickinson, death comes as a friend, he kindly
stopped for me. (408, lines 2) Dickinson views death as understanding and kind, for she would have
not stopped for death, in the way that death stopped for her. There is a definite new view of the
meaning of death in Dickinson s poem, which takes the idea of accepting death to a profound extent.
Through this human understanding is expanded and the readers are caused to

Tokyo Story 360 Degree
Tokyo Story s 360 degree In David Desser s Ozu s Tokyo Story he mentions that casual viewers fail to
notice Ozu s scenic construction and segmenting of screen space (12). Ozu Yasujiro s use of the 360
degree space within the film Tokyo Story (1953) may seem like a mismatched action. The 180 degree
line is a rule where the camera is position at an eye line perspective. It causes the action within a film
to continuously stay on one side of the axis line. Through the editing of 180 degrees, the audience has
a connection to the film that makes them feel as if they were not watching a film, but rather, watching
the action in person. Ozu, like many other Japanese filmmakers, was influenced by Japanese culture,
especially architecture (17). Desser states the first time we see the Hirayamas in the film, they are
seated next to each other, each facing right. Yet by the time the sequence ends we suddenly notice that
now they are facing left (13). Near the end of the segment when a new character, Noriko, walks into
the scene. At this moment in the film, Tomi is on the left side of the screen and Shūkichi is on the
right. The film cuts and shows Noriko entering the room, cut, then Tomi is on screen right and
Shūkichi is on screen left in a long shot. Desser clarifies characters who converse with each other
seem to shift spatially in relation to each other and to the space in which they are filmed (12). Many

Why Was Beethoven Important

Final Essay
12/12/15
Why Beethoven? Over the course of this class, one of the main questions that our learning has
consistently traced back to is the question of why we study Beethoven, and why his legacy has stood
the test of time. Regarded as a musical pioneer, Beethoven revolutionized the Classical era, and his
experimental capabilities and distinguishable sound paved the way for the Romantic era. Although he
composed almost 650 pieces, it is universally understood that Beethoven is revered as far more than a
composer. Rather, Beethoven s legacy is that of a performer, a poet, an icon of his time and a
precursor of the future. In this essay, I will discuss the aspects of Beethoven that most strongly compel
the study of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beethoven s childhood was arguably one of the most fascinating and influential periods of his life.
Young Ludwig was raised by an abusive alcoholic father and a neglectful mother. His father, Johan
Van Beethoven, was also his musical mentor, and never actualized Beethoven s potential as a musician
(1). His mother, Maria Magdalena Kerevich, often sent him to school looking so disheveled that
classmates assumed he had no mother (Suchet pg. 21). Despite her neglect, Beethoven spoke very
highly of his mother, and said that she taught him to give back to the world despite what it may have
neglected to give him (1). This empathetic spirit is visible in his music as well, especially during his
compositional period called The End of an Era. This was debatably the darkest time of Beethoven s
life, as he was completely deaf, depressed, and in a dry spell of composing (1). His brother had also
just been diagnosed with a terminal illness, so he took custody of his nephew Karl, a relationship so
tension filled that Karl attempted suicide in 1826 (3). At this time, one would expect Beethoven to
write music expressive of such hardship, but instead he composed some of his most delightful and
uplifting pieces such as Irish folksongs

The Differences and Similarities of the Ottoman Empire and...
While taking the class of Early Modern European History there was two states that really stuck out
and peaked my interest the most. They were the Ottoman Empire and Early Modern Europe. If you
compare and contrast both the Ottoman Empire and Early Modern Europe during the 16th Century
through the 18th Century, you will see that there are a number of similarities as well as differences
when you look at the expansion of the states. You will also see many of these contrasts as well when
you look in terms of each states military and commerce. Although the Ottoman Empire existed before
the 16th century and continued to exist past the 18th century and in great decline until the early 20th
century, when looking at the state as a whole the time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, there is such a thing called supply and demand, and the consumer chooses what is needed or
wanted. This article also signified the evolution of the English economy of moving away of
mercantilism capitalism. Both the articles had a significant impact on the societies of each state.
Perhaps the greatest comparisons can be made in how the two states expanded, grew, and changed
point of view within the time period. The second comparison point would be what role religion played
in to the time period, with the scope of the protestant uprising in the late 15th century and the change
in what citizens perceived the role of god and religion in society. Also important with this is the role
that the Millet system played within the Ottoman Empire specifically when overtaking new lands and
expanding. The third comparison point revolves around the economy and taxation habits of both
states, looking closely at the mercantile, trade, Industrial Revolution, and taxation. Lastly, you can
also look at the fall or change of both great states through important events and how those events
shaped their futures in many ways. Though the end of the 18th century and the Battle of Vienna didn t
mark the end of the Ottoman Empire, it did note the start to the downfall of the great state. With the
same token, the French Revolution marked another change and progression from Early Modern

How Did Isaac Newton Contribute To The Scientific Revolution
The Scientific Revolution can be seen as the most important phase of modern science. Many scientists
changed the world with these findings. During the Middle Ages, people did not really focus on
science. That all changed during the Renaissance. Scientist started to focus on using logic and
observation rather than faith, then the Scientific Revolution started! Isaac Newton, Francis Bacon, and
Nicolaus Copernicus were scientists during the Scientific Revolution, they did not only change
science but also helped with modern science.Scientists during the Scientific Revolution changed the
vision of how people look at the world, with many new advancements in science, and careful
observations.
Isaac Newton is probably one of the most important scientists during the Scientific Revolution, I mean
like, the man discovered gravity for gosh sakes. Newton was born on the 25th of December 1642 and
died in the 20th of March 1726. During the time period that this man was alive, he made many great
advancements in science. One day Newton was thinking about the forces of nature, suddenly he saw

The Media Access Control Address
1. Introduction
Media Access control address is a permanent/fixed address which is assigned to every hardware
device connected to a network (wireless adapter, network interface card etc.) by the hardware
manufacturer. Every device on a network has an ip address, IP is an internet protocol which give
unique identity to the devices at network layer. IP address can be frequently changed. One the other
side, MAC addresses are permanent and they work at layer 2 (data link layer). MAC Address is also
known as hardware address or physical address of a device. Changing of MAC address may allow the
bypassing of access control list of router/servers by hiding the computer/device on a network or
allowing it to deceive another network devices. This is called the spoofing of MAC Address. The
media address control spoofing does not mean that we can write the new Mac on the chipset of
network interface card but the Mac spoofing is the way to change MAC details of physical
configuration of the operating system. Spoofing is used to hiding the original machine which sent the
data, this can be done to avoid original machine address or to make it undetectable. For the safety
reasons we don t want to show the original address of the machine which send the data , because
hackers ,viruses etc. can target our machines by knowing the original MAC addresses. MAC spoofing
is one of the biggest threat for cybercrime investigation agencies, in this today s world there is no

I. INTRODUCTION
As the world is suffering from an ever diminishing stock of fossil fuels and serious pollution being
caused by fuels, solar energy has become the most promising solution to the global energy crisis.
Among various methods for generating energy from the sun, solar cells are an effective approach for
converting solar energy into electrical energy for regular use. There is a wide range of research
activities around the world that has demonstrated the efficiency potential of crystalline silicon cells.
Most of the research studies has inferred, both theoretically and practically, that thin crystalline silicon
cells can have low manufacturing costs while not compromising on reasonable efficiencies. Many
researchers have attempted to study the impact of wafer thickness on the performance of crystalline
silicon cells, and the best efficiencies on wafers with thickness under 200µm are typically in the range

planetary motion from this system, Newton was the first person to show that the motion of objects on

The Awakening Analysis
Sacrifices can define one s character; the definition can either be the highest dignity or the lowest
degradation of the value of one s life. In The Awakening, Kate Chopin implicitly conveys the sacrifice
Edna Pontellier makes in the life which provides insight of her character and attributions to her
awakening. She sacrificed her past of a lively and youthful life and compressed it to a domestic and
reserved lifestyle of housewife picturesque. However, she meets multiple acquaintances who help her
express her dreams and true identity. Mrs. Pontellier s sacrifice established her awakening to be
defiant and drift away from the societal role of an obedient mother, as well as, highlighting the
difference between society s expectations of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Robert Lebrun, who gives her all the affection and attention she wants, makes her feel
and act like how she was before she was married. As a result, she starts to disregard her husband and
his commands. Such as in the event, when Mr. Pontellier commanded her to come inside the house
after a long night. However, Mrs. Pontellier disobeyed him and stayed outside. She would, through
habit, have yielded to his desire; not with any sense of submission or obedience to his compelling
wishes, but unthinkingly, as we walk, move, sit, stand, go through the daily treadmill of the life which
has been portioned out to us (Chopin 40). At this stage of Mrs. Pontellier greatly values the kind of
freedom she had before marriage. Her newly oppression towards her husband exhibits the defiance of
women towards men. Chopin meant to show Mrs. Pontellier as an outsider of society, in order to
spread the image of women, who can make their own decisions. After returning from vacation, Edna is
a changed woman. When her husband and children are gone, she moves out of the house and purses
her own ambitions. She starts painting and feeling happier. There were days when she was very happy
without knowing why. She was happy to be alive and breathing when her whole being seemed to be
one with the sunlight, the color, the odors, the luxuriant warmth of some perfect Southern day (Chopin
69). Her sacrifice greatly contributed to her disobedient actions.

Rhetorical Situations In Broadcasting
Inside the discourse community of broadcasting there are a variety of genres that are used. These
genres or forms of writing are all shaped by different situations and factors that the author experiences
as a whole. Which can change how to the writing is produced. Utah State professor Keith Grant Davie
explains ...examin[ing] rhetorical situations as sets of interacting influences from which rhetoric
arises, and which rhetoric in turn influences is...one of the most important things we can do (Grant
Davie 264). Grant Davie goes on to add that certain aspects regarding rhetorical situations. The ones
that he lists are the purpose of it being produced, the contributors to the product, those who will be
absorbing the information, and the context ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are only used by sport broadcasters therefore someone who would is videographer might not be
able to understand it, someone who is already member of the broadcasting discourse community. Also
if they audience is unfamiliar with stats in certain sports when the broadcaster might read off one they
will be lost and confused. For example, if an announcer who was calling play by paly for football said
that the quarterback has a completion percentage of fifty, someone who doesn t understand football
fully will not understand. In some sports like baseball that are being introduced with new stats
everyday like holds, war, effectively, etc. Might even confuse the audience who might be knowledge
about that sport. That s why sometimes when they might mention an unfamiliar statistic; they ll
explain how it s measured. Finally since each spotting board is different depending on the rhetor there
can also be constraints between those who also use spotting boards too. The spotting board genre is
quite fascinating. Ted Husing was a broadcaster in the 1920 s and he even used spotting boards, but he
admits that the broadcasters before him used them too (Lewis 3). Therefore the origin of this genre
remains a mystery inside the broadcasting discourse community. This causes many factors that all play
a part in affecting its rhetorical

  • 3. Theme Of Orientism In A Passage To India Foster discusses the possibility of interaction between the East and the West. Literature forms a major part in the interaction between nations. The concept of the West on the East is that they are simply barbarians, uncultured and illiterates and meant to be ruled and controlled. The West considers the East as orients and in literal an image of the Other . The basic idea of orientalism is that east is what is not west but it is mysterious, holy, dark, strange, attractive and barbaric. In their concept and perception, East is unreasonable and people there are not themselves and therefore need to be ruled. Forster pours out his own conception of colonized India based on his several visits to India. By 1915 Gein s mother had decided to move the family to a farm in Plainfield Wisconsin and only let him go out in order to go to school. Due to this, the main influence in his life was his mother. This essay will show how the attachment theory is applicable in Ed Gein s case. More specifically, how Gein s attachment to his mother and how her death ultimately proved to be deadly. Gein s most influential childhood influence was his mother Augusta who was a very strict and religious woman. Augusta despised her husband who was an alcoholic and wanted to raise her children in a religious environment in order to keep them away from a life of sin. Gein s father was unable to keep a steady job and finally decided to move to a farm isolated from urbanization. ( A E Television Network, 2017) Gein s father would both verbally and physically abuse him and his brother Henry as a result of alcoholism. Although his mother would also verbally abuse him Gein idolized her. His mother used the opportunity the farm presented in order to turn away anyone who she thought ... At their peak, between 1345 and 1521, The Aztecs controlled 80,000 square miles throughout central Mexico. The Aztec empire had a very intricate social class system. There were two main social classes in Aztec culture. First the nobility or pilli, then the common people or macehualli. The nobility had many special privileges. People of nobility received a higher level of education, wore ostentatious clothing and decorated their home. Nobility were also able to hold government positions. Not all nobility were leaders or relatives of other noblemen. People could move up ranks by distinction. Commoners were mostly hired to work farms but were able to support themselves. There were also slaves, but unlike many other cultures, the slaves were treated generally well. Slavery was not hereditary, therefore, the children of a slave were always free. A slave could also purchase freedom if he had enough money. If a person was in an economic hardship, he could put himself into slavery. In Aztec culture, education was mandatory regardless of gender or caste. Boys usually received a more extensive education than girls. Girls were taught how to cook and manage a home, but they were also taught how to economically run a home. Women had power in Aztec society. There were two main classes of education. Cinematography was defined throughout the film as the making of a motion picture. Light is thought of to be something so little but means so much in a film. It is used to change the emotion and to tell people where to look. What s important are the lights you don t turn on said by Allen Daviau. As explained in the documentary, the dark was not used as negative space but as the most important part of the scene. • 10. The Correct Methodology of Selecting CEOs Essay The Correct Methodology of Selecting CEOs Abstract Selecting the correct methodology for recruiting your next chief executive officer is undoubtedly one of the most difficult decisions that a board of directors will ever have to make. Horse races, promotion contests, and the extensive use of executive search firms have proven to be the most common forms of selecting company s top executives. The fight to hold to the title of CEO between internal and external candidates is cut throat and in most cases, a popularity contest based on reputation alone. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the horse race is taking place internally, most boards still choose to search outside of the company for qualified candidates to fill the leadership position (Citrin, 2009). This allows the board to assess how well its internal employees are matching up against external applicants. Horse races can also turn into popularity contests, in which the stakeholders and board members will exercise their stakeholder power (Lawrence Weber, 2008). This stakeholder power gives the board members and stakeholders the ability to use resources to make an event happen and secure the outcome that they see fit. In turn, this method creates a high stress environment for those competing in the horse race and can even be distracting to the organization as a whole (Citrin, 2009). According to Citrin (2009), in a horse race competition for CEO, there is a clear winner and a clear loser in the battle. In most cases, the loser will end up leaving the company to pursue other executive leadership positions which is a disadvantage because of the loss of long term, quality employee. • 11. Summary Of The Veldt By Ray Bradbury Bradbury s Words to You Desmond Tutu, a South African leader once said, You do not choose your family. They are God s gift to you, as you are to them. In the short story The Veldt , Ray Bradbury conveys the idea that no material object that has ever been crafted, is more valuable than your family because your family provides you with vital growth. He does this by telling the tragic tale of parents Lydia and George who are killed by their spoiled and technology obsessed children, Wendy and Peter. Through foreshadow, symbolism and imagery, Bradbury believes that kids need to respect their parents, otherwise there will be grave consequences. Bradbury uses the term The Happy House in an ironic manner to foreshadow the very unhappy demise of the Hadley family. The Hadley s home consists of an abundance of high technological machines to do all the work around the house for them, called the Happylife Home . The description of the house provides the reader with an understanding that the family is very lazy for having machines doing all the work for them as they are described as ... the house that bathed and fed them and was good to them . However, despite the comforts this home brings, the Hadley parents become more and more worried with the machines throughout the story. The beginning of the story foreshadows this: George, I wish you d look at the nursery. What s wrong with it? I don t know. • 13. A Research Study On Synthetic Biology 2.1 Fundamental research Synthetic biology has a lot to offer in fundamental research. Starting from the most well characterised laboratory organism, E.coli, we are still in half way from full knowledge of understanding the function of all its genes as the functions of 20% of them are still to be identified (Keseler et al., 2011). Moreover there are many more other microorganisms with great importance which are even less well understood. Synthetic biology provides the ability to make specific modifications to the genome of a model organism and to use this as a tool to study and understand the fundamental biological processes of microorganisms, plants and animals and apply this knowledge to create novel products. One of the major application is that these findings will expand the biological repertoire available for the designing of new genetic pathways, proteins and cells to manipulate biological reactions that normally occur. The current ambition is to create a database of shared standardised parts that will be used to manipulate DNA. An example is the BioBricks Foundation which provides open access to DNA sequences for cloning and expression of different nucleic acids and proteins. The main reason for this was that it would create too much confusion about the rules, as constantly adding new rules would require the player to slow down and think. Another problem would be keeping track of who owned each card. This would become a problem if players had the same special cards. Initially, our game was planned to be a trading card game, in which players had to acquire their own special cards in order to play the game. We voted on this idea as a way to create more distinction between our game and Egyptian Rat Screw . This idea was expanded upon during the third week where the games Magic: the Gathering and Hearthstone could provide a good model for how we might shape our card game. Special cards were to be used on along the standard playing card deck. A consequence of this rule was that we would have to make up a lot of different card effects while also making sure that they were balanced. Our first method of balancing came from labeling the power of the cards as low, medium, or high. Our rules indicated that each player would only be able to add a certain amount of cards from each power level so that each player wouldn t seriously outrank another player. An alternative to the balancing we had was that each player could bring in any amount of high powered cards that they want so that players would feel like their own cards helped them win the game more easily and feel a sense of ownership of their chosen cards. • 25. The Meaning Of Human Reflection In Emily Dickinson s Poetry The question of, what is human understanding, can be complex to answer. Human understanding can be seen in two different ways. The understanding of the majority, meaning that of a group, which follows a certain ideology. It may also be seen as, the understanding of an individual, who ultimately decides which ideology to follow or even which to create. Since, Emily Dickinson s poetry is the subject, it is more appropriate to view human understanding as that of an individual. This is because, Dickinson, herself, was quite an isolated individual, keeping to herself that poetry which is being analysed in this treatment. It seems as though Dickinson held an acute understanding of the meaning of individuality, a very human understanding of what it means to be one in a million. Because I Could Not Stop For Death takes the insight of a soul which has passed from life to the afterlife and the process of interacting with death. In a similar fashion, I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died speaks of the reflection of an individual during their last moments and how something so simple, like the buzz of a fly, can give peace. The Brain Is Wider Than The Sky calls attention and in a way celebrates the capacity of the human brain. Emily Dickinson s Because I Could Not Stop For Death, I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died, and The Brain Is Wider Than The Sky present human understanding as both unlimited and limited, boundless and small, which defines Dickinson s view of the individual self to be profound, reflective and limitless. In Because I Could Not Stop For Death, Emily Dickinson presents her profound view of life after death and compares it to the human understanding of death. There is a distinction between what is considered death and Dickinson s view of death. Death is often seen as something unwanted, unwelcomed, but for Dickinson, death comes as a friend, he kindly stopped for me. (408, lines 2) Dickinson views death as understanding and kind, for she would have not stopped for death, in the way that death stopped for her. • 27. Tokyo Story 360 Degree Tokyo Story s 360 degree In David Desser s Ozu s Tokyo Story he mentions that casual viewers fail to notice Ozu s scenic construction and segmenting of screen space (12). Ozu Yasujiro s use of the 360 degree space within the film Tokyo Story (1953) may seem like a mismatched action. The 180 degree line is a rule where the camera is position at an eye line perspective. It causes the action within a film to continuously stay on one side of the axis line. Through the editing of 180 degrees, the audience has a connection to the film that makes them feel as if they were not watching a film, but rather, watching the action in person. Ozu, like many other Japanese filmmakers, was influenced by Japanese culture, especially architecture (17). Desser states the first time we see the Hirayamas in the film, they are seated next to each other, each facing right. Yet by the time the sequence ends we suddenly notice that now they are facing left (13). Near the end of the segment when a new character, Noriko, walks into the scene. At this moment in the film, Tomi is on the left side of the screen and Shūkichi is on the right. The film cuts and shows Noriko entering the room, cut, then Tomi is on screen right and Shūkichi is on screen left in a long shot. Desser clarifies characters who converse with each other seem to shift spatially in relation to each other and to the space in which they are filmed (12). • 28. Why Was Beethoven Important Monica Rhein Final Essay 12/12/15 Why Beethoven? Over the course of this class, one of the main questions that our learning has consistently traced back to is the question of why we study Beethoven, and why his legacy has stood the test of time. Regarded as a musical pioneer, Beethoven revolutionized the Classical era, and his experimental capabilities and distinguishable sound paved the way for the Romantic era. Although he composed almost 650 pieces, it is universally understood that Beethoven is revered as far more than a composer. Rather, Beethoven s legacy is that of a performer, a poet, an icon of his time and a precursor of the future. In this essay, I will discuss the aspects of Beethoven that most strongly compel the study of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beethoven s childhood was arguably one of the most fascinating and influential periods of his life. Young Ludwig was raised by an abusive alcoholic father and a neglectful mother. His father, Johan Van Beethoven, was also his musical mentor, and never actualized Beethoven s potential as a musician (1). His mother, Maria Magdalena Kerevich, often sent him to school looking so disheveled that classmates assumed he had no mother (Suchet pg. 21). Despite her neglect, Beethoven spoke very highly of his mother, and said that she taught him to give back to the world despite what it may have neglected to give him (1). This empathetic spirit is visible in his music as well, especially during his compositional period called The End of an Era. This was debatably the darkest time of Beethoven s life, as he was completely deaf, depressed, and in a dry spell of composing (1). His brother had also just been diagnosed with a terminal illness, so he took custody of his nephew Karl, a relationship so tension filled that Karl attempted suicide in 1826 (3). At this time, one would expect Beethoven to write music expressive of such hardship, but instead he composed some of his most delightful and uplifting pieces such as Irish folksongs ... While taking the class of Early Modern European History there was two states that really stuck out and peaked my interest the most. They were the Ottoman Empire and Early Modern Europe. If you compare and contrast both the Ottoman Empire and Early Modern Europe during the 16th Century through the 18th Century, you will see that there are a number of similarities as well as differences when you look at the expansion of the states. You will also see many of these contrasts as well when you look in terms of each states military and commerce. Perhaps the greatest comparisons can be made in how the two states expanded, grew, and changed point of view within the time period. The second comparison point would be what role religion played in to the time period, with the scope of the protestant uprising in the late 15th century and the change in what citizens perceived the role of god and religion in society. Also important with this is the role that the Millet system played within the Ottoman Empire specifically when overtaking new lands and expanding. The third comparison point revolves around the economy and taxation habits of both states, looking closely at the mercantile, trade, Industrial Revolution, and taxation. Lastly, you can also look at the fall or change of both great states through important events and how those events shaped their futures in many ways. • 33. The Media Access Control Address 1. Introduction Media Access control address is a permanent/fixed address which is assigned to every hardware device connected to a network (wireless adapter, network interface card etc.) by the hardware manufacturer. Every device on a network has an ip address, IP is an internet protocol which give unique identity to the devices at network layer. IP address can be frequently changed. One the other side, MAC addresses are permanent and they work at layer 2 (data link layer). MAC Address is also known as hardware address or physical address of a device. Changing of MAC address may allow the bypassing of access control list of router/servers by hiding the computer/device on a network or allowing it to deceive another network devices. This is called the spoofing of MAC Address. The media address control spoofing does not mean that we can write the new Mac on the chipset of network interface card but the Mac spoofing is the way to change MAC details of physical configuration of the operating system. Spoofing is used to hiding the original machine which sent the data, this can be done to avoid original machine address or to make it undetectable. For the safety reasons we don t want to show the original address of the machine which send the data , because hackers ,viruses etc. can target our machines by knowing the original MAC addresses. However, Mrs. Pontellier disobeyed him and stayed outside.
