How Did Gandhi Impact The Civil Rights Movement
Mahatma Gandhi is renowned all over the world for his nonviolent philosophies and impact upon civil
rights. He was the primary leader of India s move towards independence. Gandhi engineered a form of
non violent protest that would influence the world. He was born on 2nd October, 1869, in Porbandar,
India. Gandhi studied law and advocated for the civil rights of Indians, and influenced many civil
rights movements. Even after his death, Gandhi s actions inspired future civil rights movements
around the globe. He most notably impacted, civil rights movements in three regions of the world;
South Africa, India and America.
The South African civil rights movement, was greatly impacted upon by Gandhi. After becoming a
legal barrister in England, he accepted a yearlong contract from an Indian firm, to a post in the Colony
of Natal, South Africa. Gandhi was horrified by the racism and prejudice he experienced as an Indian
immigrant in South Africa. On a train voyage to Pretoria, Gandhi was beaten by a Caucasian
stagecoach driver and thrown out of a first class railway compartment. This was because he refused to
give up his seat for a European passenger. That ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The registration required Indians to submit to physical examinations, provide fingerprints, and carry a
registration certificate at all times. Otherwise they could be fined, imprisoned, or deported. Gandhi led
a campaign of civil disobedience in retaliation to the ordinance and several other laws over the next
eight years. This is when Gandhi introduced the term Satyagraha. Satyagraha, translates to insistence
on the truth . Gandhi advocated the concept of Satyagraha as a powerful but nonviolent resistance to
discrimination. He used it to bring about social and political reforms. Satyagraha would profoundly
influence the Indian struggle for independence in later

The Suspension Of Habeas Corpus Essay
Suspension of Habeas Corpus Compersion On September 15, 1863 President Abraham Lincoln
temporarily suspended Habeas Corpus, which is the right to due process. Anyone who was a
confederate sympathiser or spoke out against the war were arrested, put in jail and weren t given a trial
until after the war was over. Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus because he wanted to suppress
dissenters to strengthen the War effort. More than 13,000 civilians in the Union were arrested under
martial law throughout the War. Lincoln viewed his action as justified since he believed the country
was in a time of crisis. The Suspension of Habeas Corpus is significant because it helped Maryland
stay part of the Union, ultimately helping the Union win the War. Everyone who either protested the
war or was a confederate sympathizer was in prison, the Maryland vote for secession was put into the
hands of pro union voters. It was crucial Maryland stay part of the Union because Maryland was the
only accesses into the capital that the Union had. The suspension of Habeas Corpus strengthened the
war effort in the North because most of the war adversaries were arrested, causing the Union citizens
to feel positive about fighting for their country. Dred Scott vs Sandford Case In the March of 1857

What You Should Read this Summer (While You Still Have the Chance) The summer is a great time to
relax and catch up on your leisure reading before the busy semester takes ahold of you. But what
should you read this summer?
During the semester I m always loaded down with textbook reading, essays and studying for exams
which means I never have time to read for pleasure, or at least not that often. So over the summer I
always try to pack in as much fun reading as I can. So here are some of the books I ve either read this
summer or am planning on reading this summer that have the ability to transport me to a world void of
anything related to education but which still are great books to check off my list.

Christopher Seitz s The, The Divine, Miraculous...
I turned to a number of commentaries with these questions in mind. Christopher Seitz cites the opinion
of C. Westermann that the salvation referred to in this chapter is brought about by the divine,
miraculous transformation of a condition, the nation s oppression and impoverishment, into its
opposite rather than it being brought about by an historical event. Seitz comments that by God
becoming Zion s everlasting light, Zion s exaltation has cosmic, transnational consequences. I found
this unconvincing in the face of the fact that we have not seen the exaltation of Zion during the period
of the text. One would have to remove it entirely from history and see this as an apocalyptic text,
which my passed study of Isaiah has shown not to be true. I moved on to Joseph Blenkinsopp, who as
usual, did not disappoint. Here I found the historical context of this section of Isaiah. Blenkinsopp
referred back to Isaiah 58 to shed light on why the vision of theophany in Isaiah 60 had not been
realized. Cyrus had release the Jews from Babylonian captivity, and those who wished to had returned
to Jerusalem. But the dominant frame of mind of the people being address (in Isaiah 58) is one of
disorientation and disillusionment. There is corruption in the government and judicial system, and
among the religious leaders. The poor are neglected. Jerusalem suffers under external pressures and
internal dissention. In chapter 60 the vision is unfulfilled; in chapter 58, God tells the

International Fragrances Essay
International Flavors and Fragrances have a long history before IFF s name was established in 1958.
In 1889 Joseph Polak and Leopold Schwarz from Zutphen, a Dutch town found their first factory.
Their success leaded them to open a second factory in approximate 7 years. They continued to flourish
throughout the upcoming years and for the first 60 years of the 19th century their fame was
unbelievable. It was a period of flavor and fragrances discoveries that served as the mark of what IFF
is today. Ameringen Haebler formed a new partnership in 1929 and for the next 30 years they
continued to operate with an emphasis in fragrances. In 1958 Polak and Schwarz together with
Ameringen and Dr.HaebIer gave birth to International Flavors Fragances Inc. The company becomes
international at an incredible pace. Throughout the years, IFF has kept their word of producing ...

Ameringen suggested that adding fragrances to their products would be a more profitable way and he
was right. The new ingredient increased their sales. Bar soap was only the beginning and with a better
and innovative technology they were able to produce several products. Fine colognes are
commercially produced today. Scientists have discovered many technologies like the Living Flower®

Love For England And Lucy By William Wordsworth
Before the Lyrical Ballad was published, William Wordsworth spent time in Germany away from
England. During this time, he composed a set of poems that would eventually be known as the Lucy
Poems . This set of poems would make their way into the first edition of the Lyrical Ballad. All of
them, except for one. Out of the five poems he writes, I travell d among unknown Men wouldn t
appear in the Lyrical Ballad alongside the other four Lucy Poems (Locke, 44). This particular poem,
compared to the rest, is the most iconic poem for showing Wordsworth s love for England and Lucy . I
travell d among unknown Men is a four stanza poem with four lines in each stanza. The format is in an
ABAB style and consists of the first and third line of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that Wordsworth puts In Lands beyond the Sea in his poem signifies that during the creation
of this poem he was, at one point, away from his home. In this case that place was Germany.
Wordsworth also does this in order to connect to the audience on a deeper level of thought. For those
who have been through a similar situation as Wordsworth, they would feel the presence of walking
among unknown Men more noticeably than others. This stanza ties in with the following stanza, Nor,
England! did I know till then what love I bore to thee (lines 3 4), to make the primary message of his
poem clear: Wordsworth, during his time in Germany, is realizing how much he loves England.
Because he has stayed away from England for a long period of time he begins to realize how much he
loves it. Wordsworth loves it so much so that he states that, once he returns to England, he will never
leave England again (line 6). The reasoning, however, is not because he despises Germany or loves the
country of England in its entirety. Rather, it is because of the unknown figure of Lucy who is also a
separate focus in this poem. Wordsworth makes the connection between Lucy and England by
expressing how his feelings of joy and desire of England came from her presence. She is introduced
into the poem at line 11 and 12 in which she turned her wheel beside and English Fire and is
confirmed to be Lucy at lines 15 and 16 in which she saw a green field

Two Similarities And Differences Between Germany And China
Germany, a western country is well known for beer, sausage and innovative technology. China, an
eastern country is well known for delicious food, martial arts and low priced products. Everyone
knows they are completely different. However, can you raise some concrete examples showing their
difference? And is it true that both do not have a single similarity at all? Though, they have certain
similar aspects if you look closer. One obvious difference between Germany and China is the food
habit. German tends to have cool food for breakfast, which comprises bread, cheese and cold meat like
ham and salami, whereas the Chinese tend to have hot food at the beginning of the day, such as
congee, which is a thick, white porridge made of rice and water. ... Show more content on

Both countries view family as a key aspect of their life. German have a strong bond with family. For
example, everybody goes back home for reunion at Christmas and Easter. Family would spend time
together for enjoying the long holiday. Chinese also emphasize family gathering and reunion, just as
German do. During the Spring Festival, a number of Chinese would travel from the city they are
working at back to their hometown in order to celebrate and gather, given the fact that the Spring
Festival is the most important festival to Chinese. Furthermore, both societies show a great respect to
elders. There is a Chinese saying, An old in a home is like a treasure of a family. Chinese view the
elder as an experienced and alive encyclopedia more than an encumbrance in the society. Similarly,
German are always willing to help the senior citizens. German help those citizens is common in
public, like on buses and at restaurants. The youngsters would give up their seats, or helping the elders
getting on and off the bus. The politeness to senior citizens could be also shown from the German
language. People would use Sie , which is a polite and formal form to address other, Herr and Frau to

Effects of Temperature, pH, Enzyme Concentration, and Substrate Concentration on Enzymatic
Activity
INTRODUCTION
Enzymes, proteins that act as catalysts, are the most important type of protein[1]. Catalysts speed up
chemical reactions and can go without being used up or changed [3] Without enzymes, the
biochemical reactions that take place will react too slowly to keep up with the metabolic needs and the
life functions of organisms. Catecholase is a reaction between oxygen and catechol [2]. In the
presence of oxygen, the removal of two hydrogen atoms oxidizes the compound catechol, as a result
of the formation of water [2]. Oxygen is reduced by the addition of two hydrogen atoms, which also
forms water, after catechol is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hypothesis is as the substrate concentration has an increase so will the reaction of velocity if the
amount of enzyme is kept constant.
MATERIALS AND METHODS To study the effects of temperature, pH, enzyme concentration, and
substrate concentration there were certain steps that were followed in order to conduct this
experiment. Each factor had a separate procedure to follow to find how each had a different effect on
the enzyme.
To find the effect of temperature on the activity of an enzyme, the experiment deals with the steps as
follows. First, 3 mL if pH 7 phosphate buffer was used to fill three different test tubes that were
labeled 10, 24, and 50. These three test tubes were set in three different temperature settings. The first
test tube was placed in an ice water bath for ten minutes until it reached a temperature of 2° C or less.
The second tube s temperature setting was at room temperature until a temperature of 21°C was
reached. The third tube was placed in a beaker of warm water until the contents of the beaker reached
a temperature setting of 60° C. There were four more test tubes that were included in the procedure.
Two of the test tubes contained potato juice were one was put in ice and the other was placed in warm
water. The other two test tubes contained catechol. One test tube was put in ice and the other in warm
water. After

Philosophy Of A Froebel Classroom
A Froebel classroom shares the ideals of its originator, Friedrich Froebel who originated the idea that
children learn best through play. Play is seen as the avenue for discovery and understanding. These
classrooms are more about open ended play which is not seen as purposeful as much as a means for
self directed comprehension of how things work. Hands on explorations are the hallmark of a Froebel
classroom.
A Reggio Emilia classroom is looked at as a third teacher. The environment is carefully selected, and
extremely important to the philosophy. The materials here are not designed solely for particular
concepts, as they are in a Montessori classroom, but are often plucked from nature with the objective
of exploration. Learning here is more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In the Montessori Method, it is believed that children have a desire to take care of themselves and

A Waldorf philosophy focuses on children as active learners who should not be rushed through their
developmental stages. They are seen as capable, active learners.
Froebel classrooms believe that younger children should be taught much differently than older
children and that through play, they can develop intellectually, spiritually and socially. He believed
that children should be protected from outside influences in a safe and nurturing environment.

To Kill A Mockingbird Character Analysis Essay
To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most recognizable books of all time. Ever since it s July 1960
release date it has been hailed for its genius writing, relatable characters, and narration. The novel is
told through the eyes of Scout, a young girl living in the fictional Alabama town of Maycomb, and
how she develops during an important time in her childhood. Scout s character will affect the story in
many different ways. Her childlike demeanor, strong southern accent, and personality adds to the book
s charm and memorability. You will get to see her evolve as a person throughout the entire story. As
the only narrator, all of what you know of Maycomb and its inhabitants is through her eyes. Scout is
not only the most memorable, but the most important.
In To Kill a Mockingbird the primary narrator for the story is Scout. All the characters, settings, and
plot are all introduced by Scout. You will come to know these characters through her. Why is that so
important? Simple, you are able to see Scout growing up face these challenges internally, instead of
externally. Through this story, you understand her emotions and see her learning about the world. This
also demonstrates a major conflict she and her family faces and ultimately comes to her own
conclusion. We have all been kids once, so we can relate to Scout and her dilemma. During the

Essay On The Susquehanna River
There are many different ways to determine the health of a river. The class took a trip to the
Susquehanna River to explore and learn about it. The Susquehanna River contributes forty four
percent of the water that enters the Chesapeake Bay. Because of this, it is essential that the
Susquehanna River stays clean. There are many testable indicators when determining the health of the
river. Some of the indicators are the levels of pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrates, phosphates, and
temperature. An acceptable pH level is anywhere from five to eight. With this range of pH, wildlife
will be able to thrive in the water! The pH level in East Pennsboro Township and many other places in
Pennsylvania is buffered because of an abundance of naturally found limestone. Dissolved oxygen
levels should be greater than 5 parts per million, but less than 13. The right amount of dissolved
oxygen allows the aquatic animals breathe in their habitat. In dead zones, there are low amounts of
dissolved oxygen and that is why very little life exists there. It is important to keep the levels of
dissolved oxygen in the right range to support wildlife living in the river. ... Show more content on

High levels of nitrates and phosphates are not good for the river because it creates dead zones. Dead
zones are areas that contain low amounts of oxygen in the water. A lot of dead zones in the water aren
t good because a majority of organisms rely on oxygen to live and not many can live in these

Benjamin Bazman Analysis
In modern life, we are offered a wide variety of genres that require the reader and write to have a
complex knowledge of social and institutional structures. Bazerman offers an example of what seems
like a fairly simple genre junk mail but demonstrates just how complex it can be:
Interpreting even the most ordinary junk mail solicitation for a credit card requires an understanding
among other things of the postal system, folded paper envelopes, advertising and direct mailing,
promised inducements, the modern bank and credit card system, modern application forms, store
credit card transactions, monthly statements, internal record keeping, check payments, and
competition among various credit providers (Bazerman 1997).

As more subjects find their way into a letter like writing letters to deities instead of people and
become recognisable, the genre itself expands so that distinctive types of letters are established. As
people begin to recognise these different conversations they can carry out over long distances, models
are established for how to write about a particular subject; these models allow for the reader and writer
to determine what roles they are playing. Historical scholarship has shown that these varieties of
letters became strongly typified in organisations. Through the typification of letters, organizations can
extend their power over greater distances, reinforce relationships, and even create new relationships
through indirect contact with third parties (usually through letters of reference). The abundance of
letter writing practices that came from the ancient civilizations made way for letters to become a
powerful way of communication for the early Christian Church (Herrick). To begin with, the books of
the New Testament outside of the gospels are in the forms of letters. The letters explore everything
from narratives of miracles to prayers to warnings. The different subjects are told through letters and
are further explored through the

Summary Of Ida B. Wells-Barnett s Southern Horrors
Ida B. Wells Barnett s Southern Horrors was published with the intention of bringing awareness to the
injustice of Southern lynching and exposing its true purpose. With the Confederate Army s defeat and
the reunification of the United States at the end of the Civil War, thousands of previously enslaved
African Americans suddenly found themselves freed from their owners. This newfound freedom
however, was not nearly at the same level as whites and other minorities. Especially in the south,
many former slaves were subjected to cruel treatment and a lack of opportunities. The South resented
giving the Afro American his freedom, the ballot box and the Civil Rights Law. Many former slaves
were threatened with violence if they did not stay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
II. During the late Nineteenth Century, The Free Speech was one of the only journals in the country
that spoke directly to African Americans. As an author for this journal, Wells Barnett sought to
enlighten the public with information that was rarely published in other newspapers. In the event that
knowledge of these lynchings were made public, they rarely contained accurate information. This
journal was without a doubt a nuisance to the southern white press, who sought to discredit African
Americans in order to keep them out of political matters. The Free Speech went too far in a
publication written for the May 21st, 1892 paper. The article describes the lynching of eight men since
the previous publication. The deaths and crimes are described and doubt is expressed that most of the
individuals were actually guilty. The spark that led to Wells Barnett s attempted lynching is found at
the end of the article. Nobody in this section of the country believes the old thread bare lie that Negro
men rape white women. If Southern white men are not careful, they will overreach themselves and
public sentiment will have a reaction, a conclusion will then be reached which will be very damaging
to the moral reputation of their women. With the publishing of this article, local whites became
enraged and took this as a direct threat to their authority over African Americans. Local newspapers
such as The Daily Commercial wrote follow up articles testifying to the

Analysis Of Gertrude Stein s I Ain t No Oxford
With so many rules in the English language, it is easy for one to wonder how they were created. The
dictionary, for example, was only created a few hundred years ago by people who thought that was
how language was supposed to be. Many artists have had the mission to go forward and break these
rules. Gertrude Stein s Tender Buttons, bill bissett s text bites, and John Agard s I Ain t No Oxford
Don question rules of grammar and synaptic normality. By the way, these poems disrupt words, use
non standard prose, and have ambiguous interpretations they break the rules of grammar and disrupt
the formal laws of language, inducing new ways of about the how one produces meaning. Gertrude
Stein was not always known as a writer. She became ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A line just distinguishes it (Stein, p.6). While asking what is the flattering length she ends up defining
it by a line. A line can only be defined by a contour or outline. It cannot be defined by actual matter.
Therefore, the serene length ends up being defined by not being able to be defined. This gives readers
an unending openness to interpretation and perspective. In Gertrude Stein s Water Raining she leaves
the reader without any certainty. Stein writes Water is astonishing and difficult altogether makes a
meadow and a stroke (Stein, p. 10). Without the use of punctuation, the reader is able to interrupt the
poem according to how one sees fit. Placing a period after astonishing (Stein, p. 10) makes it so the
meadow and stroke are strenuous on their own. A period after altogether (Stein, p. 10) leave the
meadow and stroke to come as an aftermath from the water. While a period after meadow (Stein, p.
10) gives serenity a meadow will come from water but, a stroke is an afterthought. Stein was not the
only one to use visual art to make literature. bill bissett as a visual artist and writer links his worlds
together. At first glance, bill bissett s poetry seems to be hard to understand, nonsensical, and almost a
fallacy. bissett s use of synecdoche pushes the reader to reexamine how one reads a poem in the first
place. The poem flows from whole to part. Particularly in text bites the words come across

Billy Collins On Turning Ten
Often times readers desire for works that they can relate to on a personal level. With that in mind Billy
Collins wrote a poem entitled, On Turning Ten discusses the hardships experienced from growing up.
The poem is written from the perspective of a child who has turned ten years old and is looking back
at their great life as a very young kid. The child sees the world in a different way and feels sad that he
has grown up. Collins, through his poem, displays the emotional hardship of growing older and causes
the reader to relate to the child as they remember their own experiences growing up. Collins uses
imagery to instill empathy within the reader as they have also felt the speaker s internal turmoil. The
child is talking about how growing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The child seems to address the reader and says, You tell me it s too early to be looking back, but that is
because you have forgotten the perfect simplicity of being one and the beautiful complexity
introduced by two (76). The child goes on to list more magnificent experiences he had as a younger
child. With these lines Collins masterfully predicts what the reader must be feeling. The reader is
doubtful at first that this boy is old enough to be thinking about this, but as the stanza carries on they
begin to realize he has a point. Collins reminds the reader of possible memories they have and proves
that what this child is feeling is valid. The boy goes on to proclaim, It is time to say goodbye to my
imaginary friends, time to turn the first big number. Collins suggests that an active and free roaming
imagination must be let go as one grows older. Again he targets the readers past experiences and
reminds them that growing up can be a really sad thing. The reader is also reminded of the fun
childhood they lost. It is clear to see that adults who have forgotten their past are the targeted audience
as the poem reminds them of old times and causes them to remember lost memories of growing

British Colonialism And British Imperialism
The empire on which the sun never sets is name familiar to all, this was the name given to the British
Empire in 1921 after a period of rapid growth and ceaseless land acquisition. With such a wide range
of power, one would think that imperialism was seen as beneficial to all involved, with the exception
of the natives whose land was slowly being destroyed. A common theme in literature around this time
was the condemnation of british imperialism. Some writers wrapped up their opinions in neat yet
artistic lines, simply hinting at their disapproval while others went out of their way to make their voice
heard and their opinion crystal clear. This style of writing, no matter how the author went about it, was
known as postcolonialism. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Orwell doesn t bother with winding metaphors or flowery imagery to disguise his view on
imperialism, a little more than a paragraph into Shooting an Elephant the reader is presented with
Orwell s opinion, presented in a way that leaves little room for multiple interpretations. I had already
made up my mind that imperialism was an evil thing and the sooner I chucked up my job and got out
of it the better (Orwell) The bold diction used is important because while the words evil and chucked
up very clearly state Orwell s dislike of the very cause he served, these also reveal just how strongly
he felt. Writers tend to avoid the word evil as it runs the risk of coming off as over dramatic and thus
loses its significance. Orwell simply hates British Imperialism which is a strong feeling because to
simply hate something is to hate it wholeheartedly. Orwell almost feels as if the topic is worth little
time, so he describes it exactly as he views it evil. Both Orwell and Conrad also employ the use of
syntax to get across their subtler points on British Imperialism, using rhythm to set the mood for the
reader. The first thing one might notice in Orwell s essay is the switch from long sentences explaining

The Shape And Thickness Of Intertidal Snail Littorina...
Charles Pham Evolution Dr. Hellack Feb. 4th, 2016 Between 1871 and 1984, the shape and thickness
of intertidal snail Littorina obtusata has changed dramatically in northern parts of New England.
Shells that were collected in the 19th century were observed to possess characteristics of being high
spired with thin walls, while those collected between 1982 and 1984 were low spired with thick walls.
It was noted that an intertidal crab Carcinus maenas which preys on L. obtusata had ironically
expanded its range into the northern parts of New England around 1900. (Seeley, 1986). Considering
the significance of these two various characteristics, one may hypothesize that the various shell
morphology is due to speciation (Ha) or, with careful experimentations, another proposed hypothesis
(Ho) can be that the change in L. obtusata shell morphology was due to natural selection in response
to the predation of C. maenas. The shape and thickness of the shell (dependent variable) is a function
to the presence of C. maenas (independent variable). Rapid morphological transitions in organisms
have been difficult to witness, especially for ecologist and paleontologist. This has raised concerns for
some evolutionary biologist whom suggest that transitional forms are not visible in the fossil record
and represent speciation events. Seeley (1986) reported that a rapid morphological transition did
indeed occur in the intertidal snail Littorina obtusata between 1871 and 1984 in response

Air Force Disillusionment Theory
The Air Force would be an organization that I have working in and one that I am familiar with. As an
airplane mechanic there has to be all of the elements said in Jaffee s table from social structure,
participants, goals, technology, and an environment where individuals can work in. To start off with
social structure there is always a chain of command or in some cases depends on the rank an
individual may have. As for me my rank is staff sergeant, so I oversee those who work in my shop, but
it could be different depending on where my higher ups place me. As a staff sergeant in my shop I help
and teach the new Airmen on their duties. In chapter ten of Images of Organization there was a

I mean this would not work if there was not an authoritative figure or if everyone wanted to be that
one powerful person. Going back to an Air Force example even we have to follow our chain of
command. Those individuals who are E 1 to E 3 do not want to be stuck on those ranks forever and
want to continue getting more stripes. The Air Force have somewhat like a mentor to keep persuading
individuals to see, understand, and imagine their maximum potential to get to where they want to be.
Decision making is a big deal in the Air Force, so those individuals who have the authoritative power
know what they are about to do. When an individual is being promoted this person has to re adapt to
the new workload and even new assignments. A promotion can mean a variety of different new things
because if this individual has a higher rank than one of his friends he has to put that new stance of I
have somewhat more authority than you; it is just one more of those adjustment that that individual
has to do. Decision making is a big deal also because an individual for instance may want to help an
airplane take off and he or she may not be one hundred percent trained, so that is when they have to
use the knowledge they have gained and incorporate it into the job they are facing. (This can be for
training purposes; we would not let someone who is not

Annotated Bibliography On Linear Data Structure
An introduction to linked list: a Review
Abstract
This paper describes about linear data structure i.e. linked list. Linked list is dynamic in nature means
there is no need to know size of data in advance. It is linear collection of data elements which may or
may not be stored at consecutive memory location. In linked list pointers are used for providing the
linear order and each node is divided into parts for storing data and link part. This paper provides only
overview that how linked list was created and what are its advantages over another data structure. It
also defines how data is stored in linked list. What type of linked list can be? What basic operations
can be performed on singly linked list? .And also tried to define applications of data structure.
Introduction
Linked list was developed by Cliff Shaw, Allen Newell and Herbert A. Simon at RAND Corporation
in year of 1955 1956. It was firstly used in information processing language for artificial intelligence.
There are many disadvantages of array as compare to linked list. First is array is a static data structure
and size have to define before use for example: int marks [10] here size of array have fixed of 10
elements. Second array stores only similar type of elements in integer value according to upper
example it will store only integer value and third one is in array insertion and deletion operation are
very difficult for performing that operations huge amount of data have to move upward and downward

College Is A Major Commitment Of Time And Money
College is a major commitment of time and money, but it s also a down payment on success. Earning a
college degree will help a person realize their goals in their career and life in general. It requires a lot
of hard work but it s work that will prepare a person for a challenging and rewarding career and a
more fruitful life. According to studies, college gradates earn significantly more money throughout
their lives than those that have settled for a high school diploma. According to a national report by the
Higher Education Executive Officers Association, high school graduates earn an average of almost
$30,000 per year. Bachelor s graduates earn an average of just over $50,000 per year. And those with a
higher level degree like master s, doctorate, and professional average at about $70,000 per year. This
reveals a significant earning gap over the course of a person s life. Jobs that require a bachelor s,
master s, doctoral or professional degrees tend to also provide more benefits. These benefits include
health care, retirement investment, travel and other perks. These kinds of benefits are rarely offered
for high school level jobs. A 2008 report produced by College Board showed that roughly 70 percent
of individuals with a four year college degree received health insurance from their employers while
less than 50 percent of employees with only a high school diploma received the same benefits. Aside

Stp Market Segmentation
MARKET SEGMENTATION, TARGETING AND POSITIONING MARKET SEGMENTATION
When it comes to marketing strategies, most people spontaneously think about the 4P (Product, Price,
Place, Promotion) maybe extended by three more Ps for marketing services (People, Processes,
Physical Evidence).
Market segmentation and the identification of target markets, however, are an important element of
each marketing strategy. They are the basis for determining any particular marketing mix. Basic steps
in marketing strategy are as follows:
* ATTRIBUTES OF EFFECTIVE SEGMENTATION
Market segmentation is resorted to for achieving certain practical purpose. For example, it has to be ...

Segmentation also helps the marketer assess as to what extend existing offer from competitors match
the needs of different customer segments. The marketer can thus identify the relatively less satisfied
segments and succeed by concentrating on them and satisfying their needs.
6. Benefits the customer as well:
Segmentation brings benefits not only to the marketer, but to the customer as well. When
segmentation attains higher levels of sophistication and perfection, customers and companies can
conveniently settle down with each other, as at such a stage, they can safely rely on each other s
discrimination. The firm can anticipate the wants of the customers and the customers can anticipate
the capabilities of the firm.
7. Sustainable customer relationships in all phases of customer life cycle: Customers change their
preferences and patterns of behavior over time. Organizations that serve different segments along a
customer s life cycle can guide their customers from stage to stage by always offering them a special
solution for their particular needs. For example, many car manufacturers offer a product range that
caters for the needs of all phases of a customer life cycle: first car for early teens, fun car for young
professionals, family car for young families, etc. Skin care cosmetics brands often offer special series
for babies, teens, normal skin, and elder skin.

Negative Effects Of Social Media Essay
Social media in this day and age weighs heavy on our everyday lives. Society tends to spend way too
much time on their mobile devices and computers on social media of all sorts including but not limited
to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. It can create unwanted problems in relationships, weight gain
due to lack of physical activity, It may distract you for long periods of time without realizing it and
delay you from real world responsibilities. Social media may be one of the biggest issues this society
has. Another issue social media causes, it makes us lazy as a whole. We lose the ability to spell, use
proper grammar, or even punctuation. One of the biggest problems with social media is the unwanted
problems in a relationship. People spend way too much time on their devices and instead of spending
their much needed free time with their families. Using social media during family time is not good
family practice. Social media may help with some everyday activities but during family time can be

Mint And Chocolate Experiment Research
Introduction Test and quizzes happen every day in children s lives. It a natural event that happens in
every school. Some kids who take test have anxiety and stress when taking a test. This could lead to
stress and fear of doing test. Some teachers before a test gives out chocolate or mint to help them with
self confidence and concentration. For students, eating the chocolate usually help them calm down. It
probably helps them feel less stressed. Though that leads us to another question. If chocolate and mint
help relieve stress from students, does chocolate or mint also help children increase their test score?
This is a study to examine if chocolate or mint actually helps kids who are taking a test or quiz.

We will have about one hundred and fifty kids in total. Seventy five of them will go in one group
while the other seventy five goes in another room. In the experiment group, we will give them both
chocolate and mint. To get rid of the cofounding variable known as cheating we spread out the kids in
the large testing room. We will also be having phones off in this test so the kids won t be able to use it
during the test, which gets rid of another confounding variable. Another confounding variable we have
to get rid of is distractions. Anything that distracts the children could hinder the test, so the room has
to be silent at all times. We will give out the same test, independent variable, to all of the kids in the
experiment. We will see how the effects of the chocolate and mint, dependent variable, affect the kids
that are taking the test. We will give them about forty five minutes to complete the test. If they do not
finish in time, we will grade the questions that have been answered. We will then record all the results
of the test and write them down on paper and compare it with the test scores of the control group.
Once we compare these two results we will get an answer to the

Eugene Delacroix s Liberty Leading The People
Eugene Delacroix s painting Liberty Leading the People commemorating the aftermath of a
widespread revolt leading to the toppling of Charles X in the 1830 French July revolution. The
painting is a representation of political motivation and revolotion symbolising ideals of freedom and
autonomy as well as the consequnces for others as a result of political actions. Delacroix whilst
employing saliency, personifies Liberty as Marianne, a representation of the French nation being
represented allegorically as a goddess figure and also as a vigorous WOMAN representing ideals of
freedom and reason. Liberty s Phrygian cap whilst holding the Tricolour French flag and her exposed
breast whilst marching towards the foreground and towards the viewer creates vehement depictions of
autonomy as the motive behind the revolution . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Delacroix s use of a slight tinge of light shining upon liberty glorifying the French society s victory
and indicating a Godly transcendence upon the French further develops the abolishment of free press
and curtailing suffrage rights as the motive behind the revolution. However, the glorification is
contrasted with pyramidal symmetry and structure illustrating the repercussions as a result of the
revolution. The pyramidal structure is depicted with the use of lighting to distinguish Liberty by
juxtaposing her to the almost graveyard of corpses SPRAWLED across the base of the pyramid which
whilst being utilised as a pedestal for liberty evoke a sense of

Main Hermeneutical Strategies Used By Basil
One of the main hermeneutical strategies used by Basil in his work is confirm the oneness of the
triune God. While some of his heretical opponents insist that the triune Godhead is not fully unified,
Basil set the record straight by saying that according to the distinction of Persons, both are one and
one, and according to the community of Nature, one. Basil is not talking about two or three different
Gods, but of one single God, one that is not cloven in two, nor the glory divided, but instead of a God
that is triune in essence. The eternal generation of the Son, along with the eternal precession of the
Holy Spirit is essential to the doctrine of the triune God, and Basil asserts that taking any part of this
away from God is heresy. The Godhead can only rightly be described in its triune form, as Holy Spirit
is conjoined to the one Father through the one Son, and through Himself completing the adorable and
blessed Trinity.
One of Basil s greatest typological arguments is that the Holy Spirit is equal to the Father throughout
the canon of scripture. He asks the question, how can he who calls Scripture God inspired, because it
was written through the inspiration of the Spirit, use the language of one who insults and belittles
Him? That is to say, how can scripture that is inspired by the Holy Spirit still be the living, breathing
word of God? If people are to be called the temples of God with the Spirit of God within them, how
can this Holy Spirit be demoted to

Human Geography
I would define human geography as the study of how different factors such as culture, lifestyle,
geography, and environment dictate where humans live and migrate. I believe that it is the story of
different people s movement and activity explained through geography, culture, and other similar
stimuli. In How the States Got Their Shapes Stein explains how different conflicts, landscapes,
customs, and beliefs influenced the creation of each state. For example, the formation of Kansas
boarders look simple, but they were not easy to form. In 1854, the Kansas Nebraska Act allowed for
popular soverighty. This allowed the people of each state to decide on the issue of slavery. Kansas was
divided, and a civil war broke out. Borders were pushed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The acquisition of Texas borders were greatly influenced by the Americans who settled there before its
statehood, the Texas Revolution, and the Mexican American War. Many Americans who settled there
before 1836 felt that Texas should be an independent nation. The Republic of Texas gained its
independence from Mexico in 1836, but soon after the United States of America wanted to annex
Texas. In 1845, the Republic of Texas officially became a state. After its admission as a state, it was
declared a slave state, which greatly impacted the culture of Texas. Its western border followed the
Rio Grande River, and its eastern border followed the Red River. Its southern border followed the
coastline. Its western border was finalized after the Mexican American War when the Treaty of
Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed. It stated that the Rio Grande would be Texas western border. This
state shows how geography and size of influences different varieties of people to settle in it. For
example, the fertile and vast land attracted many people who liked the idea of Manifest Destiny. By
looking at Texas changing land, you can determine why some people moved to urban or rural areas or
agricultural or industrial lifestyles. The human geography of Texas allows questions of evolving
transportation, access to and availability of resources, and economic

Crash Thomas Theorem
The movie Crash by Paul Haggis is filled of sociological ideas, scrutinizing concerns of race, social
class, and gender, as well as countless others. This movie displays the lives of various characters in
diverse social classes including the upper middle, middle, and the lower class. In my opinion the film
Crash is one of those movies that makes an individual rethink even what someone thinks he or she
knows about the world one lives in. Overall, I agree with The Thomas Theorem for multiple reasons.
Essentially, this theorem expresses to people that if they believe particular situations to be real, they
will develop and become real to them. An individual s own subjective reality converts their objective
reality. It continues then that if they

Winfield Scott Essay
Abstract
Winfield Scott was a true American hero. Serving in 3 wars and numerous other battles and conflicts,
he left a legacy that was talked about for over 5 decades. He served in the War of 1812, the Mexican
War, and the Civil War. He began his military career and advanced quickly in the ranks. He was a
formidable leader and very studious in military tactics. A big man, he stood at 61/2 feet tall, and
demanded respect both when in uniform and without. He was referred to as Old Fuss and Feathers
because of his regard for military procedures and wear of military uniforms. He wrote the first
complete manual of military tactics in the U.S. Army in 1825. He later expanded it with the
completion of Infantry Tactics in 1835. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the age of twenty six, Scott harshly described and ridiculed the officers and soldiers of that era by
writing:
The army of that day, including its general staff, the three old and the nine new regiments, presented
no pleasing aspect. The old officers had very generally sunk into either sloth, ignorance, or habits of
intemperate drinking . Many of the appointments were positively bad, and a majority of the
remainder indifferent. Party spirit of that day knew no bounds, and of course was blind to policy.
Federalists were almost entirely excluded from selection, though great numbers were eager for the
field, and in New England and some other States there were but very few educated Republicans; hence
the selections from those communities consisted mostly of coarse and ignorant men. In the other
States, where there was no lack of educated men in the dominant party, the appointments consisted
generally of swaggerers, dependants, decayed gentlemen, and others, ‘fit for nothing else , which
always turned out utterly unfit for any military purpose whatever (Harbert, 1986).
This would become the basis for how Winfield Scott commanded soldiers, and became known for his
views on military strategy. During the War of 1812, many officers and enlisted men lived up to the
description that Scott placed on them. One such officer was Major General Henry Dearborn, who was
in command of the campaign against Canada. Dearborn was old and very

The Importance Of Self-Incrimination
Prohibiting self incrimination not only helps guarantee due process of law but also maintains one of
the basic principles of American law by putting the burden of proof on the prosecution. No person
should be requiring to answer any questions excepts in response to specific charges presented to him
in his own language. For example, the ability to drive on public roads is considered a privilege granted
by the state. When you accept that privilege, you agree to submit to testing of your blood alcohol level
if a police officer reasonably suspects you are driving under the influence. Normally, forcing you to
give a breath, urine or blood sample would violate your Fifth Amendment right against self
incrimination. His well publicized protest would eventually inspire both the constitutional right to be
informed of the charges justifying arrest and trial and privilege against self incrimination that finally
the text actually says that no person [No person]...shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a
witness against himself... .
For example, if am condemned in any Murder, then no one should force me to accept the murder
which was not done by me. He should be unmistakably educated that he has the privilege to counsel
with a legal counselor and to have the legal advisor with him amid cross examination. I think the
essential thought behind assurance against self implication was to shield individuals from the
punishment of torment that is utilized to separate data or

Examples Of Religious Themes In Star Wars
Religious Themes in Star Wars
[Insert Name]
[Insert Name of University]
Religious Themes in Star Wars By now, almost everyone even those who have not really watched the
Star Wars series knows that Darth Vader s real name was Anakin Skywalker and that he was Luke
Skywalker s father. That was the big twist at the end of the third movie which is actually the sixth
movie in the series but it is common knowledge now because of how the phrase, Luke, I am your
father, even though the real quote is, No I am your father has been popularized in popular culture.
Moreover, since the Disney company bought the rights to the franchise, we have seen many more
movies come out that have been set in the same universe and more and more people are becoming
familiar wit the movies and their story. This is why it can be said that these movies have been having
an impact on the American popular culture since the 1970s. Some of the most important aspects of
these movies are the themes that are depicted within them. One such theme is that of religion that
appears in the movie. For the purpose of this paper, it would be important to analyze the first Star
Wars movie that was ever released actually the fourth episode in the series Star Wars IV: A New ...

ideas and even though they might not have done so consciously, such themes did creep into the
narrative. If one were to watch these movies again with these ideas in mind, one would be able to see

  • 3. The Suspension Of Habeas Corpus Essay Suspension of Habeas Corpus Compersion On September 15, 1863 President Abraham Lincoln temporarily suspended Habeas Corpus, which is the right to due process. Anyone who was a confederate sympathiser or spoke out against the war were arrested, put in jail and weren t given a trial until after the war was over. Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus because he wanted to suppress dissenters to strengthen the War effort. More than 13,000 civilians in the Union were arrested under martial law throughout the War. Lincoln viewed his action as justified since he believed the country was in a time of crisis. The Suspension of Habeas Corpus is significant because it helped Maryland stay part of the Union, ultimately helping the Union win the War. Everyone who either protested the war or was a confederate sympathizer was in prison, the Maryland vote for secession was put into the hands of pro union voters. It was crucial Maryland stay part of the Union because Maryland was the only accesses into the capital that the Union had. The suspension of Habeas Corpus strengthened the war effort in the North because most of the war adversaries were arrested, causing the Union citizens to feel positive about fighting for their country. What You Should Read this Summer (While You Still Have the Chance) The summer is a great time to relax and catch up on your leisure reading before the busy semester takes ahold of you. So here are some of the books I ve either read this summer or am planning on reading this summer that have the ability to transport me to a world void of anything related to education but which still are great books to check off my list. • 6. Christopher Seitz s The, The Divine, Miraculous... I turned to a number of commentaries with these questions in mind. Christopher Seitz cites the opinion of C. Westermann that the salvation referred to in this chapter is brought about by the divine, miraculous transformation of a condition, the nation s oppression and impoverishment, into its opposite rather than it being brought about by an historical event. Seitz comments that by God becoming Zion s everlasting light, Zion s exaltation has cosmic, transnational consequences. I found this unconvincing in the face of the fact that we have not seen the exaltation of Zion during the period of the text. One would have to remove it entirely from history and see this as an apocalyptic text, which my passed study of Isaiah has shown not to be true. I moved on to Joseph Blenkinsopp, who as usual, did not disappoint. Here I found the historical context of this section of Isaiah. Blenkinsopp referred back to Isaiah 58 to shed light on why the vision of theophany in Isaiah 60 had not been realized. Cyrus had release the Jews from Babylonian captivity, and those who wished to had returned to Jerusalem. But the dominant frame of mind of the people being address (in Isaiah 58) is one of disorientation and disillusionment. There is corruption in the government and judicial system, and among the religious leaders. The poor are neglected. Jerusalem suffers under external pressures and internal dissention. In chapter 60 the vision is unfulfilled; in chapter 58, God tells the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Love For England And Lucy By William Wordsworth Before the Lyrical Ballad was published, William Wordsworth spent time in Germany away from England. During this time, he composed a set of poems that would eventually be known as the Lucy Poems . This set of poems would make their way into the first edition of the Lyrical Ballad. All of them, except for one. Out of the five poems he writes, I travell d among unknown Men wouldn t appear in the Lyrical Ballad alongside the other four Lucy Poems (Locke, 44). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that Wordsworth puts In Lands beyond the Sea in his poem signifies that during the creation of this poem he was, at one point, away from his home. In this case that place was Germany. Wordsworth also does this in order to connect to the audience on a deeper level of thought. For those who have been through a similar situation as Wordsworth, they would feel the presence of walking among unknown Men more noticeably than others. This stanza ties in with the following stanza, Nor, England! did I know till then what love I bore to thee (lines 3 4), to make the primary message of his poem clear: Wordsworth, during his time in Germany, is realizing how much he loves England. Because he has stayed away from England for a long period of time he begins to realize how much he loves it. Wordsworth loves it so much so that he states that, once he returns to England, he will never leave England again (line 6). The reasoning, however, is not because he despises Germany or loves the country of England in its entirety. Rather, it is because of the unknown figure of Lucy who is also a separate focus in this poem. Wordsworth makes the connection between Lucy and England by expressing how his feelings of joy and desire of England came from her presence. She is introduced into the poem at line 11 and 12 in which she turned her wheel beside and English Fire and is confirmed to be Lucy at lines 15 and 16 in which she saw a green field ... One obvious difference between Germany and China is the food habit. Effects of Temperature, pH, Enzyme Concentration, and Substrate Concentration on Enzymatic Activity INTRODUCTION Enzymes, proteins that act as catalysts, are the most important type of protein[1]. Catecholase is a reaction between oxygen and catechol [2]. In the presence of oxygen, the removal of two hydrogen atoms oxidizes the compound catechol, as a result of the formation of water [2]. Ever since it s July 1960 release date it has been hailed for its genius writing, relatable characters, and narration. The novel is told through the eyes of Scout, a young girl living in the fictional Alabama town of Maycomb, and how she develops during an important time in her childhood. Scout s character will affect the story in many different ways. Her childlike demeanor, strong southern accent, and personality adds to the book s charm and memorability. You will get to see her evolve as a person throughout the entire story. As the only narrator, all of what you know of Maycomb and its inhabitants is through her eyes. Scout is not only the most memorable, but the most important. In To Kill a Mockingbird the primary narrator for the story is Scout. All the characters, settings, and plot are all introduced by Scout. You will come to know these characters through her. Why is that so important? Simple, you are able to see Scout growing up face these challenges internally, instead of externally. Through this story, you understand her emotions and see her learning about the world. This also demonstrates a major conflict she and her family faces and ultimately comes to her own conclusion. We have all been kids once, so we can relate to Scout and her dilemma. The Susquehanna River contributes forty four percent of the water that enters the Chesapeake Bay. Because of this, it is essential that the Susquehanna River stays clean. There are many testable indicators when determining the health of the river. Some of the indicators are the levels of pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrates, phosphates, and temperature. An acceptable pH level is anywhere from five to eight. With this range of pH, wildlife will be able to thrive in the water! The pH level in East Pennsboro Township and many other places in Pennsylvania is buffered because of an abundance of naturally found limestone. Dissolved oxygen levels should be greater than 5 parts per million, but less than 13. The right amount of dissolved oxygen allows the aquatic animals breathe in their habitat. Historical scholarship has shown that these varieties of letters became strongly typified in organisations. Through the typification of letters, organizations can extend their power over greater distances, reinforce relationships, and even create new relationships through indirect contact with third parties (usually through letters of reference). Wells Barnett s Southern Horrors was published with the intention of bringing awareness to the injustice of Southern lynching and exposing its true purpose. With the Confederate Army s defeat and the reunification of the United States at the end of the Civil War, thousands of previously enslaved African Americans suddenly found themselves freed from their owners. This newfound freedom however, was not nearly at the same level as whites and other minorities. Charles Pham Evolution Dr. Hellack Feb. 4th, 2016 Between 1871 and 1984, the shape and thickness of intertidal snail Littorina obtusata has changed dramatically in northern parts of New England. Shells that were collected in the 19th century were observed to possess characteristics of being high spired with thin walls, while those collected between 1982 and 1984 were low spired with thick walls. It was noted that an intertidal crab Carcinus maenas which preys on L. obtusata had ironically expanded its range into the northern parts of New England around 1900. (Seeley, 1986). Considering the significance of these two various characteristics, one may hypothesize that the various shell morphology is due to speciation (Ha) or, with careful experimentations, another proposed hypothesis (Ho) can be that the change in L. obtusata shell morphology was due to natural selection in response to the predation of C. maenas. The shape and thickness of the shell (dependent variable) is a function to the presence of C. maenas (independent variable). Rapid morphological transitions in organisms have been difficult to witness, especially for ecologist and paleontologist. This has raised concerns for some evolutionary biologist whom suggest that transitional forms are not visible in the fossil record and represent speciation events. • 42. Main Hermeneutical Strategies Used By Basil One of the main hermeneutical strategies used by Basil in his work is confirm the oneness of the triune God. While some of his heretical opponents insist that the triune Godhead is not fully unified, Basil set the record straight by saying that according to the distinction of Persons, both are one and one, and according to the community of Nature, one. Basil is not talking about two or three different Gods, but of one single God, one that is not cloven in two, nor the glory divided, but instead of a God that is triune in essence. The eternal generation of the Son, along with the eternal precession of the Holy Spirit is essential to the doctrine of the triune God, and Basil asserts that taking any part of this away from God is heresy. The Godhead can only rightly be described in its triune form, as Holy Spirit is conjoined to the one Father through the one Son, and through Himself completing the adorable and blessed Trinity. One of Basil s greatest typological arguments is that the Holy Spirit is equal to the Father throughout the canon of scripture. He asks the question, how can he who calls Scripture God inspired, because it was written through the inspiration of the Spirit, use the language of one who insults and belittles Him? That is to say, how can scripture that is inspired by the Holy Spirit still be the living, breathing word of God?
