This document provides an overview of how to use PeopleSoft's Page and Field Configurator tool to configure pages and fields without custom coding. • To comply with Data Privacy regulations, organizations may mask
personally identifiable and/or sensitive content in PeopleSoft and
expose them only to authorized persons.
• There are 5 steps to mask a field in Page and Field Configurator
• Define Mask Profile based on needs of the organization.
• Define Field Groups to group fields with similar masking requirements.
• In Page and Field Configurator, configure the fields to be masked.

44. Limitations of Page and Field Configurator
• When hiding fields, the hidden items show up as plain white space.
This can result in an unwieldly looking page if many fields are hidden
(Classic Pages only).
• Cannot add fields not already present in Application Designer definition
of the page or move fields from where they are.
• Default values work only when adding a new value.
• Cannot make mandatory fields optional.

• Providing a means for documenting a configuration by adding a
comments box to the sequence.
• Dynamic defaulting of system variables to fields such as user login and
current date to simplify data entry.
• Using system variables as criteria such as current date which would
allow customers to set the date a configuration would become effective.
