3. How can we do link building?
First, let’s ask, what is link building?
Link building is the method of creating content
or actionables to get people to link to your site,
content, posts, etc.
4. How can we do link building?
In social media, there is no clear version of link
building.
Instead, we aren’t link building, but we ARE
building links.
5. Think LINK-NETWORKING
In social, we spread links to our websites and
our offerings.
We can also spread our message across the
various social media platforms.
6. Step One: The Description
Place your website link in your social media
description.
Then, if possible, place it in any short
description and long description as well.
7. Step Two: Mention Authorities
When you post, use and cite authorities in your
niche.
Twitter = @mention
Google+ = +Mention
Facebook = [mention]
8. Step Two: Mention Authorities
Remember, with most social media, you should
already be following, have in a circle or have
liked that authority.
By sharing authority information and people,
you will become an authority as well.
9. Step Three: The Right Comments
Use a WordPress plugin for website comments.
Use Comments Evolved for WordPress
With it, your comments on your website
translate to Facebook and Google+!
10. Step Four: Link Platforms
Use social media platforms to link information
and posts between platforms.
Most platforms have a ‘Link to post’ option.
Place this in other social platforms to create
more linking and traffic.
11. Step Five: Use Tagging
Especially in Facebook, you can use a call to
action to have your community tag their friends.
You can use Twitter mentions, and Google+
tagging to do the same.
12. Step Six: Include info in images
Place your link in images.
Place links in header and profile images.
Place links and calls to action in video.
13. Step Seven: Promote Others
Twitter has #FF = Follow Friday
Facebook has mentioning, with a direct ‘go like
our friends here’
Google+ is less like this, but you can still
mention pages.
In the end, promote authority and expand.
14. What did you learn?
Edit your social media account for links.
Use call to actions to promote yourself.
Link your information between platforms.
Use a social media plugin for commenting on
your blog.
