Basketball is a sport played on a rectangular court with two baskets at each end. The objective is to score more points than the opposing team by shooting a ball through their basket. Players can score in different ways - a normal shot inside the three-point line is worth 2 points, while a shot from beyond the three-point line is worth 3 points. Games consist of 4 quarters of 10 minutes each, with 5 players from each team allowed on the court at a time. Basic rules include limits on how long a player can hold the ball before passing, and restrictions on players remaining in certain areas of the court.
