Description of the job
The Japanese edition of Softonic.com is looking for a content director, who will be managing the content editorial
team in Japan (they write reviews about PC software, Android and iPhone Apps and WebApp). The content
director will not only be managing the team but also responsible for a content creation and downloads in the
Japanese site. It will be a very challenging and important position because you will be able to decide strategies
and directions of the site
Your responsibilities will include
- Management of a team of editors, including skill-up trainings, mentoring, motivating, and recruitement
- Defining and/or improve the local editorial guidelines to produce high quality and productivity of the contents
- Supervising the quality, freshness and performance of the created content
- Defining KPI and leading a team to achieve higher performances over stretched-goals
- Deciding all keywords translation and Japanese phrases up to 10K words
- Research and analysis of the industrial trends and news about PC, mobile and WebApp to increase a site
performance
- Development and execution of local strategies and support of sales and marketing under CEO’s supervision
- Participating meetings with a content team in headquarter to lead and achieve global tasks and goals
- Contributing to writing new reviews, finding new software and updating our Japanese online listings
- Ensuring that the published content complies with our legal policy.

Minimum skills
- Native Japanese speaker, with an excellent writing skill with a distinct style and voice
- Management experiences, strong leadership skill
- Demonstrated experiences of planning and execution of content strategies
- Advanced online editing and writing skills, knowledge of journalism principles and values
- Work experiences in software, online (internet), mobile, media (including offline media) or gaming industry
- Ability to work respecting customers, partners, and colleagues with passion
- Business level English
- University degree
Desired skills
- Minimum 7 years working experiences
- Knowledge of SEO guide lines to be applied to online writings, expertise of web analytics tools
- Good knowledge of operating systems and software
- Passion for introducing excellent software and smartphone applications to Japanese and global users
- Highly positive and proactive attitude towards work, honest, and supportive
- Data analytic skill, logical thinking, ability to manage tasks speedily and simultaneously
- Experiences of working both in a venture company and a global company would be a plus
