MAIN RELIGIONSEven though there is no official religion in Puerto Rico, the main religion is Roman
Catholicism.
85% of the population of Puerto Rico is Roman Catholic, with the remaining 15% divided
among Protestantism, Islam, and Judaism. Some people put the Catholic percentage at 70%
or more.
Approximately 3,400,000 Puerto Ricans practice Catholicism

extreme as you want them to be. In Puerto
Rico, they also come with beautiful

In Puerto Rico, you can bike the
bustling capital, cruise along the
beach, race through a rainforest, or
mountain bike through the forests.
it’s hardly as scary as you think,
because unlike skydiving, there
is no sensation of falling . it’s a
very safe sport.

Festival information
Every year, each town celebrates patron saint festivals (fiestas
patronales) in honor of the town's patron saint. The festivities
include religious processions since they were originated as a
Catholic tradition. However, they have adopted other elements
of African and local origin. Usually held in the town square,
these festivals are colorful displays of pride and joy, featuring
parades, games, rides, regional food, and live entertainment.
Cultures and traditions
-Puerto Rico is a rich melting pot of cultures, although the strongest
influences come from Taino Indians, Spain and Africa Indeed, over
the centuries these cultures have left countless customs and
traditions that can be traced back to their ancestors.
-Puerto Rican culture can be seen and felt all year round, but
especially at Christmas, when people celebrate the
traditional parrandas – Puerto Rico’s version of carol singing –
when family and friends gather together at home. This tradition
tends to take place in the early hours of the morning in order to
surprise the unsuspecting family members who are normally fast
asleep.
Typical dances
The island has different cultural folklore rhythms
like bomba and plena, music or jibara trova, and
six different bonuses, classical music the puerto
rican danza.
