Why did we Macsteel decide to Outsource our Oracle Environment
Insufficient internal resources to manage the system – we needed 24 x 7
support and only had 1 DBA. Oracle could provide DBA and other
technical and functional resources for the project.
Massive capital investment was required to complete the rollout. Our
Servers and Storage were undersized when purchased at project
commencement.
Oracle Cloud Hosting Fees were cost competitive – predictable monthly
costs.
Access to Oracle Support staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems
priority issues very quickly.
Oracle Cloud has extensive monitoring tools and capabilities. Those tools
and resources would also have required capital investment.
