Nelida: Llegue de pequena con mi mama a vivir a los EstadosUnidos. Juan: ¿Quetipo de musica se escuchasucultura? Nelida: Mucha salsa, mucho merengue. Juan: What types and kinds of foods do you eat? Nelida: Lot of rice, lot of porks, and a lot vegetables. Juan: Do you have family in American, another country, or both? Nelida: Both.

Juan: What do you think about the education in the U.S.? Nelida: The eduaction is where to each children’s standards are capable of doing their best whether in a public school or regular school or catholic school. It’s all up to the student. Juan: What religion do you practice? Nelida: Me and my family practice the catholic religion?
7. Conocimiento de la Entrevista From this interview I learned that Nelida Feliciano was not born here in the United States and that she had moved here with her mother from Puerto Rico to live in the United States. Her culture listens to a lot of salsa and merengue and they love to eat pork.
8. Hispanic Population on Jersey City and New Jersey Latino Population in Jersey City: 68,256 = 27.5% total population. Latino Population in New Jersey: 1,117,191 = 13.3% total population. Latino Population in the United States: 35, 305, 818 = 12.5% total population.
9. Amount and percentage of Latino students in my four classes Block 1 – Teacher: Mrs. Ramos There is a total of 5 Hispanic students in my first block out of 14. The percentage is 36%. Block 2 – Teacher: Mrs. Eldredge There is a total of 13 Hispanics in my second block out of 24. The percentage is 54%. Block 3 – Teacher: Mr. Lamb There is a total of 5 Hispanics in my third block out of 7.The percentage is 71%. Block 4 – Teacher: Mr. Signoretta There is a total of 7 Hispanics in my fourth block out of 17. The percentage is 41%.
