I have been a commercial illustrator for 30+ years, and I prefer to work with customers who commission me to draw or paint something that is important to them. I apply traditional mixed media techniques using oil paints, acrylics, watercolors, dyes, gauche and torn paper. My personal style is impressionistic and expressionistic, utilizing loose, wet and dry paint techniques. I also enjoy experimenting with a drawing mix of charcoal and graphite. I am currently experimenting with combinations of traditional and digital painting processes. The advantage is that I can print each piece in multiple high quality, numbered, giclee prints on canvas or paper. This substantially reduces the cost to the buyer. that is important to them. My first work out of college was a pen
and ink series for Sports Illustrated. That was followed by a season of
Gameday Magazine cover painting for Georgia Tech football. Sports
have always been my first passion. I have done SEC football paint-
ings for Alumni, Pro football and baseball, but I have also painted
landscapes, lake homes, children and, even 1950’s photos.
My own personal style is historically impressionistic and often
expressionistic, utilizing loose, wet in wet and dry paint techniques.
I typically apply traditional mixed media techniques using oil paints,
acrylics, watercolors, dyes, gauche and torn paper. I also enjoy draw-
ing with a mix of charcoal, graphite and watercolor. I love to exper-
iment and discover happy accidents. Recently I have been utiliz-
ing combinations of traditional and digital painting processes. This
allows me to produce multiple, high quality, giclee prints on canvas
or paper, substantially increasing avilability and reducing price.
I work primarily on custom projects by request. Museum quality,
signed giclee prints are in the $150-300 range. Original paintings are
between $1000 and $2500, depending on complexity and subject
