vLMS is an e-learning system designed for the shipping industry. It consists of two modules: the HQ LMS installed on land which acts as the main system, and multiple instances of the vLMS installed on individual vessels. The vLMS allows crews and officers onboard ships to access training courses and resources even during periods without internet access. Course content is created on the HQ LMS and then synchronized to the vLMS installations on various ships, while user data is sent back to the HQ LMS from the ships. This allows for centralized management of training programs across a fleet of vessels.

 vLMS is the e-learning system for the shipping industry by
SQLearn.
 vLMS is a web based e-learning system specifically designed for
providing learning material and management of the e-learning
courses in the shipping industry.
 It includes two modules:
 The HQ LMS which is the main installation (land)
 The vLMS, an installation per vessel that is able to
communicate with the HQ LMS in order to receive files and
send back user activity reports

officers to attend any number of elearning courses, gives access to
training resources and training assesments.
 The technology used in vLMS allows seamless use in conditions
with low internet connection speed or no internet connection at

15. METHODS FOR DATA TRANSFER
① Begin synchronization of the files created in HQ LMS with Tanker
#1 (provided the Tanker has an active internet connection)
ALTERNATIVELY
② A CD/USB Flash Drive/External Disk is sent to the Tanker #1
containing the archive and an officer should place its contents to
a designated folder in the Tanker’s server.
③ An email with a link to download the files can be sent to one of
the Tanker’s officers

The files prepared for
transfer are compressed
and encrypted.
Only the ship the files are
intended for can read the
prepared archive.
