Definition
 Pollution means the addiction of any
foreign material like in organic organic
biological or radiological or any
physiological changes occurring in nature
which may harm or effect living organism
directly or indirectly immediately or after
a long time.

While looking at the man-made contributions
towards air pollution, smoke again features as a
prominent component. The smoke emitted from
various forms of combustion like in biomass,
factories, vehicles, furnaces, etc. Waste used to create
landfills generate methane, that is harmful in several
ways. The reactions of certain gases and chemicals
also form harmful fumes that can be dangerous to the
well being of living creatures.

7. Air pollution comes from both natural and manmade
sources. Though globally man made pollutants from
combustion, construction, mining, agriculture and warfare
are increasingly significant in the air pollution equation.
Motor vehicle emissions are one of the leading causes of air
pollution. China, United States, Russia, Mexico, and Japan
are the world leaders in air pollution emissions. Principal
stationary pollution sources include chemical plants, coal-
fired power plants, oil refineries, petrochemical plants,
nuclear waste disposal activity, incinerators, large livestock
farms (dairy cows, pigs, poultry, etc.), PVC factories, metals
production factories, Plastics factories and other heavy
industry. Agricultural air pollution comes from
contemporary practices which include clear felling and
burning of natural vegetation as well as spraying of
pesticides and herbicides

8. Effects of Pollution on Living Environments
 Biomagnification describe situations where toxins
(such as heavy metals) main pass through tropic levels
become exponentially more concentrated in the
process.
 Carbon dioxide emissions cause ocean acidification The
ongoing decrease the pH of the earth’s oceans CO2 to
become dissolve.
 The emissions of greenhouse gases lead to global
warming which affect ecosystems in many ways.
 Invasive species can out complete native species and
reduced biodiversity.
 From the air by train and fertilize land with the change
the species composition of ecosystems.
 Sulfur dioxide emitted from the combustion of fossil
fuels like coal, petroleum and other factory
combustibles are one the major cause of air pollution.
Pollution emitting from vehicles including trucks, jeeps,
cars, trains, airplanes cause an immense amount of
pollution.
 main causes of pollution include industrial emissions,
poor disposal of wastes, mining, deforestation, use of
fossil fuels and agricultural activities. Pollution can
affect the air, the land and water bodies throughout
the world.
 High levels of air pollution can cause an increased risk
of heart attack, wheezing, coughing, and breathing
problems, and irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat.
Air pollution can also cause worsening of existing heart
problems, asthma, and other lung complications.
