3. Abstract
The purpose of this project is to set up the network design on a college campus.
The servers used in this setup are DHCP, DNS, FTP, IOT and many more services
including web services, mail services, etc.
By combining all the technologies such as LAN, WAN, Wireless and IOT we were
successfully able to create the network design for college campus and smart
office.

Title Author Technique Description
1. Boosting Campus Network Design Using Cisco
Packet Trace
Isa Shemsi Campus Network (CN), Smart
Device, Virtual Local Rea
Network (VLAN), Internet of
Things.
To improve the campus network service, this paper
proposed Smart Campus Network Design (SCND) by
assimilating internet of thing device with classically
network device.
2. Direct and Indirect File Transfer Protocols Between
Clients in Client-Server Architecture
MINGYU LIM File transfer protocol, client-
server model, communication
framework, indirect file
transfer, channel
management
In this paper, we proposed a file-transfer protocol
(C2CFTP) that efficiently performs file transfer between
clients in a client-server architecture.
3. Design and Implementation of Smart Home using
WSN and IoT Technologies
Marwa Assim IoT, WSN, Smart Home, Wi-Fi,
Fi, Raspberry PI, Packet Tracer
In this paper, smart home simulation and
implementation have been presented. The simulation
was done using a newly released cisco packet tracer 7.2.
This version included different IoT devices used for
home automation. The home Gateway router has been
used in this simulation to register the smart devices on
it.
4. Application of vlan and HSRP technology in the dual
core campus network
YAN Haiyan VLAN, HSRP, Load balancing The core switches enable different VLAN data to arrive
by different links so as aim to realize the gateway
redundancy backup and achieve the aim of load
balancing and link backup. in this way it will but also
improve the utilization rate of network equipment but
also increase the reliability of the network.
5. Implementation of Network VTP Domain for
Computer Experimental Teaching Demonstration
Center

Demostration Center, VTP,
Unified management.
Implementation of Network VTP Domain for Computer
Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center solved the
unified management of network equipment and
maintenance problems and ensure the normal operation
of network.
8. VLAN
Without VLANs, a broadcast
will reach all devices.
Increase the CPU overhead
9. DNS
DNS servers eliminate the need for
humans to memorize IP addresses such as
192.168.1.1 (in IPv4), or more complex
newer alphanumeric IP addresses such as
2400:cb00:2048:1::c629:d7a2 (in IPv6).
10. DHCP
DHCP is a client/server protocol
that automatically provides an IP, subnet
mask and default gateway.
Manually reclaimed.
With DHCP, this entire process is automated
and managed centrally.
12. HSRP
HSRP is a CISCO proprietary protocol.
HSRP allows you to configure two or more
routers as standby routers and only a single
router as an active router at a time.
14. FTP
(FTP) is a communications protocol.
These transfers of files generally is authenticated
by username and password credentials.
FTP works on a client/server model
15. EMAIL SERVICES
• The email refers to the electronic means of
communication of sending and receiving messages
over the Internet.
16. OSPF
OSPF is a routing protocol which is used for Internet Protocol networks.
OSPF uses a link state routing (LSR) algorithm and operates within a single
Autonomous system (AS).
OSPF is usually used in large and complex networks.
OSPF detects the variations in network topology, such as failures of links, and
forms a new loop-free routing structure.
OSPF uses Dijkstra’s Algorithm.
18. Internet Of Things
IoT devices are a part of home automation,
ich can include lighting, heating and air
nditioning, media and security systems and
mera systems.
Long-term benefits could include energy
vings by automatically ensuring lights and
ctronics are turned off or by making the
idents in the home aware of usage.
19. Home Gateway
The Home Gateway offers 4 Ethernet ports
and a wireless contact point on channel 6
equipped with the SSID "Home Gateway.“
It is possible to configure WEP / WPA-PSK /
WPA2 companies to wireless links are safe for
connections.
31. Conclusion
we used the Cisco packet tracer version 8.0.1. to introduce various
protocols such as DNS, DHCP, HSRP, OSPF, FTP and IOT based smart office
set up in a single platform, where anyone can communicate to anybody.
The main motto of this article is to have network redundancy
and transparency to everyone.
Hence we can conclude that we have designed and simulated
college campus network design with smart office.
32. NEXT FEATURE-SDN
Greater Reliability via Automation. SDN is a great option for large, complex networks that
require lots of up-time.
More Efficient Network Management. SDN offers real-time visibility into your network
performance.
Cost-Savings.
Faster Scalability.
SD-LAN builds on the principles of SDN in the data center.
SD-WAN to bring specific benefits of adaptability, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and scale
to wired and wireless access networks.
All of this happens while providing mission-critical business continuity to the network access
layer.
