14. The Duration of Sounds and Silences
• In music, the duration of sound and silence is
important. Duration refers to how long and how
short tones and silence last.
• These tones and silence follow a certain beat.
Beat can be felt with or without sound. We clap,
walk, tap, march, dance, and play musical
instruments to show the rhythm and beat of
music.
16. The Duration of Sounds and Silence
• Rhythm – is the long and short durations of sounds and silences in the
relation to the underlying beat. It has a strong, regular, repeated
pattern of movement or sound.
17. Rhythm
Is always present in our daily activities
like walking, speaking, dancing,
and even sleeping.
