6. DOWNTOWN/CITY HOTEL
• These hotels are located in the heart of the city. These
hotels are centrally located and at a convenient
distance from markets, railway station, business centre,
shopping areas, public buildings, airport, etc. rates in
these hotels are normally high. Generally, business
professionals prefer such hotels. Hotel de l' Annapurna
is an example of downtown hotel in Nepal.
7. SUBURBAN HOTELS
• these hotels are located away from the main city, they
have an advantage of quieter surroundings and the
rates are lower. Usually writers, poets, low budget
tourists etc prefer to stay at suburban hotels.
8. RESORTS
• rest, relaxation and entertainment are the objectives of
a resort. Resorts are generally built far away from city,
crowd near natural attractions such as sea, beach,
mountain, river, waterfalls, forests, hill station, and
island etc. they provide recreational and entertainment
related activities such as golf, tennis, water sports,
horse riding, bird watching, rock climbing, swimming,
sauna, spa etc. various types of resorts are summer
resort, winter resort, hill resort, jungle resort, all
seasons resort, health resort, riverside resort etc. some
of the famous resorts of our country are Fulbari resort,
Gokarna forest resort, Godavari village resort,
Waterfront resort etc.
9. AIRPORT HOTEL
• These are Hotels located near the Airports, especially
international airports. Typical target market includes
business clientele, airline passengers with overnight
travel layovers or canceled flights and airline
personnel.
10. MOTELS
• the word motel is derived from two interrelated words
'motor hotel'. Motels are also called Motor Hotels are
located alongside the highways. The clienteles of
motels are passengers, drivers of bus, car, truck who
generally spend over night or two nights. Motels have
facilities of proper motor garage to service a car and a
filling station to refill vehicles, parking area for motor
vehicles etc.
11. FLOATEL
• The hotel which floats on water is called floatel.
Floatels are situated on the surface of sea, river or lake.
Some are permanently docket at a port while others
are cruise liners taking passengers on a long trip.

travellers. The guest can stay for a minimum period of
one month or longer. These are the concept of
